Contacted them a they got back to me in a timely matter. Only problem is that they list vehicles for sale that are currently loaner vehicles and that they won't be available for purchase for the next couple of months. I was looking at the 2017 Mercedes Benz E300 in the used for sale section. Most of those cares listed for sale won't be available for months. Why are they even listed?

When you are purchasing or servicing what are supposed to be high-end vehicles, you would hope that they take customer service and client satisfaction seriously.Unfortunately, that has certainly not been our experience at Knauz Auto Park in Lake Bluff, IL. We purchased a Mercedes back in 2003. It is a smaller convertible, and it is driven as a summer car (not very long in Northern IL). Although it is older, the car only has around 55,000 miles on it since we dont drive it that often.About 4 years ago, we started having battery issues. One battery was replaced. At that point, the car started draining the battery. If it was not started every 2 or 3 days, it would need to be charged. We took the car in and asked them to check it and they could not find anything wrong. We were actually told that it was normal by the service technician. Yes, I am sure Mercedes came out with a car that you had to start every 2 days or the battery went dead.Around 11 months later, we took the car back to Knauz. (My stupid mistake). Once again they could not find anything draining the battery despite the fact that it would not start after 1 or 2 days of not being started. Once again we were told it was normal and that we should simply put it on a tickle charger. The battery was under warranty so they once again replaced it. 2nd new battery in 2 years. This week, I went back to Knauz and brought the Mercedes in while I went shopping for another vehicle. I drove the car at least 45 minutes to get there. I explained my situation about the Mercedes to the person I was purchasing the new vehicle from and he asked a few questions and said, that is certainly not normal. After purchasing the Land Rover, I went back to see about getting the Mercedes worked on while they got the new car ready. At that point, the car would not even start after sitting for 45 minutes (we constantly have to charge it).The first person in service that I talked to looked at the car history and actually said, there advice last time was to actually put it on a charger? Then laughed and said, Man, I can see why you would be frustrated with a car that wont start. I joked that I was sure Mercedes wanted cars that couldnt start after 45 minutes of sitting and he just rolled his eyes and said, that is horrible. I cant believe that.Yesterday I was told that they finally found that the radio was indeed drawing from the battery even when the car was not started. It would be around $1,200 to fix the radio and they wanted about $300 for a new battery. That will be 3 batteries in 3 years because they could not fix the car and clearly had no idea what they were doing. And they want to charge me for another battery because they could not find what was wrong and actually told me it was normal. To top it off, they gave me a quote to purchase the vehicle for $2,500. That is well below the quote that Blue Book gave me from their dealership of over $4,000 a week prior. And the normal Blue Book value is between $4,000-$6,000 for that vehicle depending on condition. So much for treating people fairly and customer loyalty.I am actually embarrassed that we got another vehicle from Knauz. Rest assured, the servicing of that vehicle will not be done there. And we will never go back. We are fortunate to be able to afford nice vehicles, and we will be purchasing another vehicle in the next 6 months or so.Do yourselves a favor and stay away from Knauz Motors. The first paragraph of their website says: They have weathered the good times and the bad, and done so by taking care of customers using "The Golden Rule". Must be a very different version of the Golden Rule than I know.

Quick and easy car sale. My salesman Tom was great. Financing took about 30 minutes and the car is just what I wanted in a used car. Thank you Knauz!

We visited the dealership to test drive a new GLE 350. The salesman we had the test drive scheduled with told us he was leaving shortly so he passed us on to Steve Chase. After spending quite some time on finding the vehicle he brought the car around to the front of the dealership. We took the car out for the test drive and as we were driving I was asking Steve simple questions that he answered I think just to answer. For example I asked him if the illuminated star was a factory installed option only, or if it could be installed after the car is purchased. Steves answer: factory only. I asked him what the main differences were between the GLE and the GLS. Steves answer: well the GLS IS AN 80k SUV.I'm a very educated buyer and the last thing I needed to know is the price difference. Steve was very condescending and his product knowledge was very poor.I would never purchase a new car from a person like him. I really think someone should explain to him he's selling very expansive and high quality products not burgers.

My salesman Josh was very polite and helpful. The finance Manager was very dishonest and telling lies to Josh to tell us untruthful things from our credit history. I was very upset to see such lies created. Very bad business!!!! I went to another dealer in Gurnee and used the same bank and had no problems at all. Was approved in 30 minutes. I will never visit this dealer again.

This dealer advertise cars that are not really for sale. I traveled 2hrs to see a x5 that has the stock#B16724. The car is not really for sale since the car was a service car for the dealer. My 2hrs driving turned out to be just a wast of time. The point that they seek is to make customers see that they have a lot of inventory. The car still advertised up to time.

So it has been 4 weeks since my last communication with Knauz BMW and BMW Corporate. I waited so long because I really believed that they would reach out to me after the last 4 months of getting the run-around. I have been a good Customer for 15 years. And being an ex-saleman of 35 years, maybe I was a little naive. My bad ! I believe that their motto is: Expect the Exceptional. Really ??? Nearing the end of my 4 year service warranty on my new car, the Customer Service Rep told me that I should buy a service extension for two years as my car was due for major work at the next service. The service schedule is actually built into the odometer in the BMW. It tells you when the service is due. He told me that the brake job alone was very expensive, plus all the filters, fluids, belts, etc. I did not even know that you could extend the warranty. So I decide to go home and think about it. A month later, I go back and talk to another CSR at Knauz. He confirms the details. No way I can lose on this deal. So I buy it. Fast forward 1-1/2 years later, my service comes due. I take the car into another BMW Dealer as we have moved from Chicago. To make a long story short, they change the oil, check some fluids and replace the wipers. The brakes are still in great shape. What ??? That is what I get for my extended service warranty. So that Dealer tells me to call Knauz. I talk to Dave Rolain, the Service Mgr, and explain my disappointment. He calls me back after 3-1/2 WEEKS and tells me to call BMW Corporate. We go back and forth for another month. Knauz tells me it is Corporate's problem, Corporate tells me that it is Knauz's problem and that they have no control over their Dealers. I am not asking for a full refund. I think the fair solution would be to deduct the minor charges from the price of the total warranty and refund the difference. I am so frustrated and disappointed in this service experience. If I had treated my Clients like this during my sales years, I would have starved. So the moral of this experience, do your homework. I doubled checked before I bought, and was still deceived. Be careful ! I cannot believe that they are letting a potential 5 - 8 new BMW car purchases over the next 20 years go over to Volvo, or another automaker, over this misrepresentation on their end. Oh well... Very sad !

As mid 50's baby boomers my wife and I have purchased quite a few cars and have had a fair share of good and bad experiences. We had visited Knauz in the recent past inquiring about a used Mini Clubman they had listed. Also I failed to mention we were current Mini owners and live in Glen Ellyn IL.so it was a bit of a journey to go to Lake Bluff. It was worth the trip! The service was great. We did not buy the car due to the size of it and our needs. Soon after we decided to look at Countryman All4's. After looking around we found little inventory in our area so we looked into ordering a car. Later we found an almost perfect match in Knauz's inventory. We made an appointment on the phone with the sales manager and met our salesman before we got in the building! We were shown and drove many cars and when it came time to deal our salesman Marc Lebovitz and the sales manager Peter Gioulos sat down and worked out the deal that put us a 2016 Countryman. Having them work with us as a team took the old 'I gotta run this by my boss' out of the deal. This was our best experience to date!

I contacted them through cars.com regarding a van they had. I didn't hear from them for several days, and by then I had purchased a vehicle from another dealer. Too bad because i really did like their van

This is what it's supposed to be like. No pressure car sales. Micheal McGuire was NOT your average salesmen. I've bought dozens of cars over the years and have never enjoyed the whole ordeal. Micheal, from the first hello to the last handshake made it a pleasure to deal with. This is old school professional salesmanship with the long term customer in mind. The entire complex is clean and well maintained. Everyone we encountered was polite and professional. My loyalty was Micheal McGuire and Knuas auto. Knuas you have a live long customer. Thank you.

We drove up to Lake Bluff on a Saturday, my husband found a car that he liked online and wanted to check it out. Overall the experience was really good. The salesman, Joshua, was very helpful and friendly. We ended up trading in a car and bought the one we came to see. I think we got a good deal. The whole process was painless, signed the papers and we were on our way. The other salesmen were also very helpful, giving my husband info on diesels and even printing up some information to take home. It was far for us, but worth the drive.

My wife and I recently considered buying a used BMW from Knauz. Ultimately we bought one from a different dealer, but the decision was based on color and options unique to the car we bought, certainly not to the caliber of the Knauz sales rep, or the dealership. Knauz is a quality operation, and our sales rep., Carl Geishecker, was both personable and professional. He negotiated a fair deal; he and a technical consultant went over the car with us, and at no time did we feel any pressure to do anything more than give his offer fair consideration.

I found a car that I fell in love with, online at Knauz. I am from Omaha, Nebraska so that is the first thing that complicated this a bit. I have been talking to these people over the phone, trying to buy it and it must be that its not the most expensive car there and they are in no rush to sell it, it is starting to seem like they don't want to sell it at all. They have told me on separate occasions that they would call me back in "20 minutes" and "an hour" both times they never called back! So, I tried calling them back and of course there is no answer. They also said that I needed to "come in and sign the papers face to face, it's just what we do here at Knauz." I have had no problems with any other dealership that was out of state, they would just send me the papers. I have never had to try this hard to spend money. The customer service there is completely outrageous, I've had better customer service coming from Walmart. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience! Couldn't be happier with the car or with the way I was treated at the dealership. I flew in from Philadelphia to buy a specific vehicle Knauz North had (a 2006 Honda S2000) and like I said, EVERYTHING was handled with class! No games or surprises, just a great car at a great price and really friendly service. William Hartman is a great sales guy - go see him if you want to be treated right! He was very knowledgeable and courteous. Whether you are local to Knauz or coming from far away (like me) I highly recommend them!
Looking Elsewhere to Buy
May 14, 2014
I made an appointment with a salesperson to see a used car. I was told by the salesperson that I HAD to have the appointment to make sure that that person would be there for me to handle the deal. I drove a round trip of 34 miles and arrived a half hour early and the salesperson was not there yet. In fact, 20 minutes after our scheduled appointment time, the person was STILL not there. I asked a number of sales people if they could page my person but they said there was no manager on site and they didn't have the phone number. So I left. Six hours later, the salesperson called me to come in and see the car!!! I was told that they had just missed me. If that was true, why didn't they call six hours earlier? I no longer have an interest in the car and am looking elsewhere to make a purchase. VERY strange way to handle a potential customer with my trade-in title and checkbook in hand especially when I was told to make an appointment.

I recently purchased a BMW 328xi from Knauz BMW. This was the best car buying experience ever! George was the best salesman to work with. He listened to what I was looking for and found it for me. There was no pressure while I was at the dealership whatsoever. The finance manager was also very nice, upfront about costs, and didn't try to sell you anything you did not need. Even other staff members that I was not working directly with were very friendly, greeted me, and made me feel welcome. I would definitely recommend Knauz BMW and George G. to a friend!

. No pressure, no young punk sales people. Inventory was pretty good and I found a car I wanted. Had a couple bad experiences at other dealers with bad salespeople. Knauz Hyundai was by far a better experience than any other car purchase I have made in the past. Actually, I can say the best experience I have ever had purchasing a car.Chet Nichols was the sales person and he was very good . He was really helpful and the person to ask for . It was such a good deal I drove 550 miles for it

Only complaint is that every visit to the Service Department since my car has been out of warranty has involved an "Up-sale". Either an additional fluid change (trans, or fuel filters), or some kind of brake cleaning. Seriously 70,000 miles with scheduled service every 10,000 and the trans fluid is above and beyond the regular expected service. And a timing chain at 60,000 really? Let me come in becharged for the regular service and stop the "Up-sale",

I dealt with an employee at Knauz named Chad who works in the Finance Department. I was totally impressed with all of the time he spent with me explaining how I could extend my vehicle warranty and gave me so many other ideas. This is a great Dealership!!!!!!

I have bought numerous cars at numerous dealerships in my life and have not had a better experience than I did at Knauz. The salesman I worked with was polite and knowledgable, as was the finance manager. I did not feel as though I was trying to be "sold", but rather being helped in facilitating a transaction. It was across the board the best experience I have had in buying a car.

Knauz is a great place to buy a bmw but I have a problem with reserving a loaner car when ai have to leave my car for service; more than once I was told they ran out of bmw loaners and I had to take a car from a local car rental agency

I had purchased a 335xi from Knauz a few years ago and naturally came back to Knauz to buy a new BMW. I was highly disappointed with the sales process. I was promised discounts by the finance person then told by the sales person that person was "new" and shouldn't have allowed those discounts. This continually happened where I was told I would get something and then it was taken away from me. I felt that I was not being treated with respect and was completely lowballed on my trade in. I ended up purchasing from Elmhurst BMW and experienced a wonderful process where I was given a great deal. At Knauz, I felt the salesperson was playing games with me and trying to use emotions and fear tactics to get me to make a quick and rash decision. It was totally unprofessional

I went to this dealership with wife and was browsing around for a pre-owned BMW. It was a great day outside for auto shopping, but I got the impression that it was not a great day for customer service. For the better part of a half hour my wife and I browsed and looked at displayed vehicles. No one ever showed up and asked us if we needed any assistance. I did however see some other customers receiving attention. I guess I didnt appear to be one with sufficient finances.

I had a really good experience working with this dealership. They were responsive, quick to work through trade in, and actually had computers to help facilitate the deal. The finance department was really easy to work with and the follow up was better than any other luxury brand I have ever had to deal with. I would definitely recommend this dealer (and I am sure the other franchises they sell are just as fluid)... Enjoy
