This was the easiest transaction of buying a car we have ever had!! Randy Wells and Mike Slinkerd (the finance manager) were amazing. We were in and out in less then 3 hours! We have done business with Joe Machens Capital City multiple times and have never been dissatisfied with the customer service we receive. It starts with the warm smiles you see as soon as you walk through their front doors and follows with instant service. We happened to get Cody Beyers as our sales associate. Cody and I talked Friday over the phone about exactly what I was looking for and he instantly got to work. Next was the financing end of everything. Sometimes this can be a long timely process when purchasing a new vehicle. That wasn't the case at Joe Machens. They made it extremely easy and in a timely fashion. My husband and I decided to go to Joe Machens that next morning to do a test drive. Needless to say 1 hour later I was on my way home with my new car! I was going to buy a Silverado but saw an F 150 and turns out I liked it better. The price was already a good deal and Doug included a spray in bedliner to make the deal even better. We spent approximately 6 months looking for a used vehicle that fit our needs at locations all over our state. A vehicle that fit what we needed came available at Joe Machens Capital City. The sales representative we worked with was great (Devon Henry)! Unfortunately, the 2014 Pathfinder we purchased was not sent through ANY sort of check system as within two weeks of ownership, it was being towed from our driveway as it needed a new transmission. The whole process of getting it repaired, securing a loaner car during the repairs, and then what followed with dealing with the dealership that sold us the vehicle (Joe Machens Capital City) was absolutely and utterly disappointing. When we expressed our concerns with the vehicle and keeping it, we were told they would work with us in finding a replacement vehicle if we chose to do that. Back to square one of what we had spent 6 months doing...searching for a vehicle.....again. The process of replacing the lemon vehicle they sold us was to be a basic trade in. No...not convenient at all. We told the dealership to find us a replacement any way as we were no longer comfortable in this vehicle that left us stranded with needing a NEW TRANSMISSION at only 48,000 miles and that had a $29,000 price tag. I have saved the emails....we were told they were going to find us what we needed (I sent an itemized list of what we wanted in a vehicle...a simple internet search would have found what we needed within a few MINUTES!) It's been one month today....we haven't heard ONE WORD from the dealership that gave us nothing but words, a $29,000 vehicle that needed a new transmission and has us concerned we will be stranded on the side of the road....again....DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. Their definition of customer service is dismal. Once the sale is made, they are done with you. We are the proof of this. When a customer expresses their level of dissatisfaction to the point we did, SOMETHING should be done to take care of them. NOT at Joe Machens Capital City.

Then I was taken to the Business Manager Bryan Ehase who was very professional but also very helpful in working with me on the paper work end of the deal. This is the second vehicle that my wife and myself have purchased from salesman Brad Bartlett, and he will be the salesman that we continue to use. He was attentive and straight forward while not being over pushy and aggressive. In my opinion, he is a salesman that still treats people like people instead of just someone that is buying a car and how can I get them to buy one. Once Brad handed us off to Bryan the feeling of still being treated as a person continued. He was willing to do whatever he could in his power to get me into a car that I wanted and not just a car that I would be stuck with for years. He continue to search avenues and ways for my family to be able to buy my very first brand new car and be happy with the results of the loan. I left Joe Machens feeling as if I was the winner, instead of the last few cars I have purchased (from other dealers) as defeated and just put in a car that I wanted but wasn't the best fit for me. This was our second new car purchase with this dealership. We had to order our car as the options we wished for were unavailable in existing inventory. We have to go back to the dealer to have a couple of options taken care of, but that should happen within a week.If I had to complain about something it would be the way Ford combines the options available to the consumer. Now it's probably done in the interest of operating expenses but as a consumer, I don't want to spend money on options I don't want to receive the options that I do want.

I had been thinking about a 'newer' car since mine was getting up there in years and miles but couldn't make up my mind to 'take the plunge'. Then I found out my 'other' car needed some extensive work. I was talking with my buddy Raz about what they had. He doesn't sell any more so he called his buddy John Lange. We talked about what I was looking for and what they had. I was actually making arrangements for tires for my son's Focus - which we had bought through Raz several years earlier. Because of a minor emergency I brought the car in earlier than planned. I would have needed a ride back to work. Raz called John and suggested I take the Focus we had been discussing instead. Then John said 'Why don't you just keep it until Saturday' giving me a couple days to drive it. John found a $1000.00 off deal and then, because of the color I chose, he found another $1000.00 rebate and 72 months financing at 0% interest. We came in on Saturday to sign the papers. I couldn't have found better guys anywhere who listened to what I wanted and what I needed. John hooked us up with Matt Wilde to do the paperwork. Matt gave us all the options on payments, including my option of a down payment and the difference it would make in my payments. Then we talked about the various warranties available. Because I don't anticipate this being 'high mileage' vehicle, Matt was able to find a warranty covering a longer period of time, These gentlemen all had an equal part in making this a truly enjoyable experience, This is my first time ever 'NEW' car. I can't imagine anyone else being able to make this such a super experience. I have purchased vehicles previously from Ford and have always received super service - but these guys were totally awesome.

I have had high pressure experiences at other dealers but not here. Kurt went above and beyond to help me out and even offered to stay late to meet me with the keys and to pick up my car If I was not able to make it quite in time at closing time. I ended up making it in time, but I don't know many salesman that would do that to save me a trip 2 hours the next day. They also had some of the best prices on the vehicle I was looking for. We knew what we wanted and had researched it. We were greated at the door by a very friendly salesman, Cody Byers. He showed us the car, answered all of our questions, and drove it off of the showroom floor so we could test drive it. The finance part was handled by Terry Bradshaw, a very nice and knowledgable gentleman, and we drove home in our new Mustang convertible. The entire process took a short period of time and we were treated like old friends! Cody followed up with us several times to make sure we didn't have any questions. My husband, Forrest, and I bought a 2012 Hyundai Sonata last week and we love Joe Machens Jeff City for all they did for us. It is an amazing car, they are so nice and polite. We live in Columbia and went to Machens in Columbia first but they were so rude and pushy that I refused to go back. When my husband found a car I liked at Joe Machens Jeff City I was specital at first, but I'm so glad we went there. The atmosphere is so calm and welcoming, people are nice to you. I'm 21 with a 4 year old child; many people look at us badly and don't think we can handle big things like buying a car, but I was glad that they held no judgement against us and we're a family friendly place. Our dealer, DOUGLAS KEELER, was amazing. Kind, honest, upfront, and worked way over what was expected. He stayed 2 HOURS past what he was supposed to in order to make sure we were happy with our purchase even though we were waiting on the finance office. I suggest everyone go to him, and you'll be happy. JEFF in financing is also amazing. He works with what you want to pay and makes sure you get it. I will definitely be going back for more purchases in the future.

When you can get them to move almost $2000 on a deal, you know they're not the most honest. So know your numbers, and stick to your guns. Be prepared to walk away.Also when I got home there was a dent in the passenger door. My bad for not doing a thurough walk around. I told them about my damage, and they failed to disclose the damage to my car.And when you get to the financing, they stick in extras like gap insurance, and and extended warranty, that isn't a Ford product, but a product of their owners. So know what you're paying. These people are paid to make their corporate interests every penny they can get. And they do a good job at that.

I told Doni Whittier the few things I did know I wanted: mileage, year, size, etc. I even told him the few things a knew I did not want: color, Ford, etc. He looked at a few cars with me online. In the end he had me test drive a 2014 Ford Fiesta. It's a Ford. However, this car is great! AND it's Candy Blue! It's so pretty! I bought it that day! When Brad Bartlett approached me as I got out of my car at Joe Machens Ford, my guard went up....I really just wanted to "look" in peace....the last thing I wanted was a pushy salesman. Brad was far from it. From the get-go, he was low key, knowledgeable, fair, direct and pleasant. He earned my business and my loyalty. I came to trust him and I highly recommend him. He's a true professional. I'd been driving my Lexus SUV 14+ years. I loved the car and cared for it religiously. Even so, it died on the highway at 165,000 miles. We were looking for a Ford Expedition and I went on line and was having trouble finding a dealer with a good used Expedition. We found a few in STL, but that is a 3 hr drive for us. We found a couple at Joe Machens Ford in Jeff City. That is still a ways from us, but closer than STL. So we drove up to Jeff City and hooked up with Bradley Kellerman. He was very patient with us while we made our decision. And we get a courtesy letter from him every so often. Well, we were looking for another Expedition, a little bit newer than what we had. We made the usual rounds to the local Ford dealers in Rolla (50 miles from where we live) and didn't find anything. So my husband called Bradley and asked him if he had any Expeditions. He didn't, but he said they had a Lincoln Navigator at another of one of their lots in Columbia and if we were interested. And of course we were interested. So we drove to Jeff City and waited till the Navigator got there. We fell in love with it and Jeffrey Holstein worked to get the paperwork done so we could get back home. And we drove away in our new(used) car. We have had such great service both times we have visited Joe Machens and from Bradley. We will remember our experience with our last two vehicles and be sure to check with Machens Ford & Bradley Kellerman.

I rated my specific experience with 5 stars because it was the best experience I have had all around ever. Typically I dred dealing with salesmen and car dealerships in general due to the fact that I am just another number, however this is my 2nd vehicle I have purchased from them and I can say Douglas Keeler is by far the best salesman I have ever seen and worked with.I went into the dealership and spoke with Douglas about a few options I had and asked him numerous questions about the 2015 F150 I was looking at. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle and helped me make informed decisions about what fit me the best. Douglas was extremely professional but was very fun to work with at the same time. He stayed after hours on two separate evenings helping me locate my perfect truck with everything I wanted. He worked with me for well over 12 hours just finding the vehicle I wanted and even provided me with his personal contact number during this time. Once we found the vehicle I wanted, he went above and beyond my expectations by providing me the best deal possible and helping me to get the vehicle within my budget. Douglas treated me like family in my opinion and took the time to get to know not only me but my family as well and built trust while gaining my business yet again. He even answered questions and researched the proper way to install the child safety seats in the truck , ( apparently I had been doing it incorrectly as my wife advised ) Once the purchase was concluded, he showed me all the bells and whistles in the vehicle and ensured I had everything I needed. His ability to help me through the truck buying experience was seamless, very easy, professional and fun, yes even fun. We hope to be back soon to have Douglas help us find our new family vehicle. I bought a 2007 Red Roush 427R Mustang (with 7800 miles) through Internet from this dealership. Since I live in Northern Virginia and the car was in Jefferson City, MO, seeing it and test driving it was out of the question. Got a call from a Brad Bartlett and he was very professional, did not try to oversell and told me to give him a call back if the other 2008 Roush 427R from North Carolina did not work out. Sure enough, 2008 did not work out and gave Brad a call to get the things rolling. Brad took pictures of every little defect (which wasn't much) and sent it to me and etc. Final deal was done on Monday totally through electronic funding in emails and the Mustang was delivered to my driveway on Friday morning. The car is virtually cleaner and shinier in person than it was in their website. Car is actually in"SHOW ROOM" condition. My Mustang is nothing but a eye candy and my daughter wife are pickled to death.I would also like to mention Tom Stegman (GM). He was very concerned about what my needs were during the entire process and stepped in on any moments notice of special attention that was needed for this deal. Things were going pretty good when I got to the dealership. I had to wait for the salesman for about 1/2 hour. After that the test drive went good. Negotiated the price and got the paperwork taken care of. During all this, the Salesman promised that with a 2 hour notice they could have the car delivered to me at my home. This was good news since I was having trouble to find someone to go with me and it was a 2 hour drive. However, when it really came down to it, the salesman kept trying to schedule the delivery on a day that I had to work all day and I kept telling him that. I finally had to remind him of his promise and he managed to arrange delivery that afternoon. However, for some reason when they got to my town they went to the wrong address at first. But they did finally make it to my house.

Hate it and would rather eat glass than deal with car salesman! Until, that is, we met Curtis Jahr at Capital City Ford. He was not aggressive and answered all our questions with patience. We looked and drove a 2009 Honda CRV and it seemed fine and purchased it 5/19/15. When I picked up the car on 5/21/15 there was a chip on the windshield in the drivers direct line of site which was not there when we drove it on 5/19. There was no sales personnel available when I brought it back so I asked for a sales manager. I was referred to Rick in the used car sales office. When I explained the situation all I got was excuses and an inference that I was lying about the situation. It was absurd as I hadn't driven it 10 miles after taking possession of the car when I returned it and contacted them. After arguing with him until I figured it was no use, I walked away and went across the street and explained the situation to a manager in the new car sales office. I don't even know his name as he didn't introduce himself nor give me a card. He walked across the street to mediate the situation and the car was not there. It had apparently been taken to have the windshield damage checked. He came back and said the windshield had been repaired previously and couldn't be repaired again and they would replace it. It was replaced on 5/22 satisfactorily. On 5/27 I had an doctors appointment in St. Louis and went out to start the car and the battery was dead. I jumped it myself because I had to get to the appointment and couldn't wait for them or anybody to come and jump it. I was so upset that because of their attitude regarding the windshield there was no way I was going to go through it again to get the battery and the charging system checked out. I decided to return the car. I stopped payment on the check and went to the manager and after him trying to appease me and my insistence the car be returned he and his less than friendly Notary agreed on my request. After buying cars for over 50 years, I have never been so poorly treated. The dealership personnel are the least customer oriented and most argumentative than any I have ever dealt with! I also question their business practices with regard to what they do to cars they bring in from out-of-town to patch them up and detail them to sell to unsuspecting customers.

The buying process was great and everyone is very friendly of course. The downside is that we purchased a maintenance plan so we are stuck coming here for oil changes. They make "appointments" for you but that doesn't mean anything. Having an appointment is pointless because you still have to wait 2, 3 or sometimes 4+ hours for them to change your oil. I've never experienced such a long wait time at any other dealership. I'm glad we purchased our vehicle from them, just wish I didn't have to come here for maintainence.

I took my vehicle to Joe Machens Ford service center in Jefferson City to have my radiator replaced. The mechanic punctured a hole in my AC condesor trying to get to my radiator (the incorrect way) and when all the work was done I picked up my car to discover that my dust cover was being held up by ONE sheet metal screw and the cover was all bent up where the mechanic tried to pry it off. So I took my car back to have the dust cover fixed and when I picked it up later that evening a piece was still hanging down and they used a variety of whatever screws they could find to hold up the cover. With that being said I cannot even order the original screws to fix it my self because they ruined the original threads. I WILL NEVER TAKEY CAR BACK TO THIS PLACE OR BUY A VEHICLE FROM JOE MACHENS FORD (Jefferson City) EVER!!!! To be honest we all know they figured I would not notice the difference or an issue. I take a lot of pride in my car and I can only hope that the mechanic and service department treat my vehicle in the same manner.

They had no problem holding the vehicle until we could get there. The vehicle was spotless and parked right in front when we got there. Doug was patient in helping me find the right vehicle for my current personal and family needs.First we went to the internet and searched the listing of current vehicles available that seemed to fit what I was trying to find and then when we finished he also suggested a vehicle that was being traded to the dealership at the time I was there. We discussed the vehicle and when it was available Doug had me come back to the dealership to take it for a test drive. The vehicle seemed like an extremely well cared for car that was in excellent condition. I had previously checked with the credit union and local bank regardingthe value of the car and I purchased the vehicle following my test drive. Doug was also helpful by introducing me to the service manager to discuss future care of the vehicle. When I came to take final possession of the car Doug was outside personally drying off the car after it had been detailed.

He was very knowledgeable about the 2 vehicles we drove and able to address all questions and concerns. In addition, he agreed to help explain navigation system and other features on the purchased vehicle that were not familiar to us. I saw several Ford Edge vehicles on CarGurus- Found one I might like, sent an email to dealership- Joe Machens in Jefferson City, telling them I would be by the next day around 2pm to look it over, and test drive it. I quickly got a "canned" email reply. First thing the next day, I received a nice email directly from Bradley Kellerman, advising me he would have THE vehicle I emailed about, pulled up front and ready for me to test drive. Sure enough, it was up front and waiting for me. Bradley Kellerman, was personable and easy to deal with. The "financial" manager was a delight to work with. I would have to say it was a very comfortable transaction. NO Hard Sell, or pressure!!!!! Much better than I expected. We looked online at the dealer inventory for this dealership and found one that was just perfect! So we drove over to Jefferson City to check it out. A couple of hours passed and Lance had already came up with the perfect truck, a 2004 Ford F-150, the vehicle had all the options that i was looking for, and the first price quote Lance gave me on the truck was cheaper than i was expecting too pay and less than I set out too spend when started looking, and later that evening Lance had the truck delivered to my home in Springfield Missouri with a full tank of gas and completely detailed, and the truck was everything he said that it was. Orginally started my search for the type of vehicle I wanted and at a price I felt I could handle on Sunday, 02 November 2014, I spend several hours searching the internet, finally going to the JoeMachen.com. After finding the vehicle I wished to look at and possibly purchase called the dealership in Jefferson City, MO, on Monday morning 03 November 2014 and talked to salesman Randy Wells, Unfortunately the vehicle was at that time at the Columbia sales lot for another customer to look at, Randy said he would call me once he had some information on whether the other person had purchased the vehicle and if they had not he would have it in Jefferson City for me to look at Tuesday 04 November 2014. At about 8 o'clock on Tuesday morning Randy called to say that the vehicle would be in Jefferson City by noon that day for me to look at, Met Randy at about 12:30 that day, was allowed to inspect the vehicle and then take it for a test drive on my own to see what I thought about it. Returned after the drive and told Randy that I would like to start the process of purchasing the truck. I then learned that Matt Wilde, one of the finance associates, had my loan papers and was only waiting for my approval to send it to the lenders to get the financing completed, All the personnel at the dealership were extremely helpful in getting everything wrapped up and paperwork completed for me get this truck, I arrived at the dealership at about 12:30 that Tuesday afternoon and was walking out with the keys to my truck and the ownership packet in my hands by 3:30 that same afternoon! I was totally amazed that it could all be taken care of so quickly and easily and to my satisfaction.Want to especially thank Randy Wells and Matt Wilde for making this a very enjoyable experience..................job well done guys and entire Joe Machens crew for making sure that my time there was comfortable and enjoyable.

I came thinking i was not going to get approved i was getting ripped off on my previous car loan paying 25% interest because our credit was not the best thanks to Tim Wilson and Chris Wiedmier we not only got a brand new beautiful Ford Edge we got out of the 25% interest down to a 5%!!! Tim is the best sales man i have ever dealt with he will do anything you ask and go beyond that Chris Wiedmier was a wonderful finance person who does not take advantage of a young person like me i told him where we wanted to be and he worked very hard to get us way under payment wise where we wanted with all the loan satisfactions we wanted. If your thinking about getting a car you have to go see Tim Wilson you will not regret it!

We just bought a Ford Edge from Lance Burns at Capital City Ford. We contacted Lance Burns and explained what criteria we wanted for a car and what price range we had. We called him on Friday morning. Friday afternoon he had a Ford Edge delivered to our driveway for us to test drive for the weekend. Who does that? By Monday morning we were proud owners of an Edge and the deal was done, trade in and all. Don't call or stop by Capital City unless you want the car of your dreams and the best deal in the fastest time possible.

I called down to Shawn Flannary and told him I wanted that car 110% and I would be in Jeff City that night to purchase it. I showed up and per my request Shawn held it for me as I knew it was exactly what I wanted! The vehicle was exactly what I expected, and he even met me at a price I absolutely couldn't refuse! He worked with me and made sure I was well taken care of! He didn't try to sell me something I didn't want. He didn't try to do the whole "annoying salesman talk" (I received this a lot, especially since I'm a female.) He was respectful, helpful, and I absolutely will not hesitate to buy my next vehicle here again! Great people and great prices!

If I could give this more than 5 stars I would in a heart beat. I just got my very first car by myself and Doug Underwood was absolutely phenomenal. I told him a little bit about what I wanted and upon arrival he had found the perfect car for me a 2011 Ford Focus SES and I am nothing short of happy. Doug went above and beyond by allowing me to take the Focus home for a few days to make sure I loved it. I will forever be going back to Joe Machens to get a car! You guys are the best!-Kayley
