Had a maintenance appointment scheduled for 7:15 AM for only an oil change. I asked if they could have the change done by 11:30 or 12 PM since my lunch is the only break I have during the work day. Representative told me that that time should be "absolutely no problem!" I ended up getting back there later than I originally estimated (arrived at 1:20), only to be informed that the car was not done yet and had not even made it into the shop! Only giving two stars for the kindness and apologetic nature of the rep. It's ridiculous that it takes over 6 hours to do an oil change, especially since I scheduled an early appointment for that exact reason, AND gave a time of when I needed to have it done by. I understand being busy, but the actual issue here appears to be time management. Would not recommend coming here for service. EDIT: Thankful for the kindness of Vince! My car was finally done at 2:20 PM, and he offered to have someone come drop my car off at my workplace instead of me having to find a ride once again. Very nice and considerate. Thank you!

Went in for an oil change this past weekend and the staff was great as always! Rick was very pleasant and made the process quick and easy. About an hour after the service, my tire light came on, and I wasn't sure why. I called Rick, and he made sure to make time for me to come back for inspection. He assured me that everything was fine. Took my car in to have timing belt replaced as part of routine maintenance. My friends discouraged me from taking car to dealership because they said it would be overpriced (it was). I thought perhaps for a big project like a timing belt, it would be good to go to somebody who "knows subarus". When I picked up my car, I noticed the air conditioning seemed weak. By the the time I got to my destination in Nashville, I had no A/C, and there was some steam coming off my hood of my car, and something oily leaking out from my car. The guy at Subaru said "no big deal, you can just bring it back tomorrow." I guess that would be no big deal if I had nothing else to do, and I lived near the dealership, and my car was driveable. It was not. The car needed to be towed, and turns our that certain attachments were not properly done. Hopefully no serious damage. Certainly not worth the extra hundreds of dollars that I paid to take my car to Darrell Waltrip Subaru. Never got a real apology until I pointed out to them that nobody had even said they were sorry. To quote T. Swift, I am NEVER EVER back again.

I greatly appreciated David Blanton and the sales team at DW Subaru. The process was about as stress free as buying a new car can be. I actually referred my grandfather there the next day, and he rang the same appreciations that I did. David did not pressure my wife and I about our purchase; he educated us about each car that I asked about and then after we had discussed all of the options, proceeded to offer me what worked best for me and not for his wallet. I arrived with my 2015 Forester "Ellie" for recommended service a full hour before my appointment, prepared for a long wait. However, I was warmly welcomed by Advisor Craig Swanson, who not only expedited the appointment, but corrected some of my contact information, kept me informed on the service progress, and was very helpful right up to my departure in a shiny clean vehicle! I waited while eating a late lunch in the pleasant reception area, and appreciated the use of a courtesy electronics charging station. I have and will continue to recommend Darrell Waltrip for the best service.

This is a review of Darrell Waltrip's used car sales process. I recently purchased an eight-year-old vehicle from them in cash. (Would not recommend doing financing here.) The people here act exactly as you would expect salesmen, assistants, and receptionists at a big used dealership to act. They know that they'll have less intelligent customers whom they can sucker into their well-above-value list prices. They know that they can move vehicles quickly, and they will use that against you during negotiation (i.e. "I got this car in last night and already have had four calls about it this morning"), even if it's untrue. The sales managers will sit in their front room (where you have to stand at the counter to talk to them), and they won't come to the back to negotiate with you once you said you're ready to talk numbers. They'll reject your first offer without making a counter-offer. They'll look at their computer screens while talking to you. They'll assume that they're smarter than you. Don't let them get away with it. You can get a fast, reasonable deal here if you play your cards right. Do the legwork before you show up. Know exactly what you want from their stock (updated regularly online), and call in advance to check that the vehicle is still available and to schedule an appointment. Know what the car is worth with exactly the same specs, and find nearby comps if you can. Have your informed sales number in mind. Lowball them with your first offer, but have your second offer in mind so that you'll have a confident response to the salesman when he says "no," with no further qualification. Stay confident, quick, and definitive through the negotiation, and you will get an ok deal. (Especially women: don't let them take advantage of you. I'm a 23 year old female who came to the shop alone.) Long story short: Come here if you need a used car within a short timeframe; they do have a huge stock of mechanically sound cars. Be confident in your number as a consumer. And, of course, don't be afraid to walk if you feel that the negotiation isn't going your way. There are hundreds of other dealerships in the area.

Darrell Waltrip is the closest dealership to my home. I have tried 3 times to buy a vehicle from them. They are the stereotypical car dealership. Their sales people do not listen and try to explain why their overpriced car that does not match what you told them you want is the right purchase for you. This last time, I sent a very specific inquiry to their internet team. I provided detailed trim and options and asked for their out the door price. I received many emails, and despite many repeated attempts to get a price for a model I wanted, I was told that I needed to come in for a test drive.

We recently purchased a 2008 Subaru Tribeca. We immediately started to have dash indicator lights go off and wanted to figure out the issue. We brought it in thinking it would be a pretty simple fix, but found out that it would cost over $4500. We purchased this vehicle because it was affordable and, just having had a baby that spent some time in the NICU, our available finances are low due to medical expenses. The service advisor was awesome! He is working with us to get the work done and to help make the repairs easier to afford. We are hoping to complete this work in the near future. I want to thank Ryan Collins for being so good to us and working with us. He truly showed us that he cares and definitely made a believer out of us that the Darrell Waltrip brand stands for customers first, then business.

Jimmy and the service staff always treat me like family. The bad: I purchased my Honda from the pre-owned inventory and to be honest, experienced a shady sales manager. I was able to negotiate a successful sale, but buyers, be prepared if you buy pre-owned. The good: Waltrip takes good care of my Accord, now at close to 200k miles (just broken in.) I have owned several Hondas and they all EXCEEDEDED my expectations. 2012 XC90 was towed to DW Service early Saturday morning. Ryan called me as soon as the car arrived, followed up with me during the day to apprise me the problems. Could not have received better service. This is my 8th Volvo since 1980 and the First one I purchased at DW. Although it is an inconvenience to drive to Franklin from Nashville for service, It is well worth it. I've been waiting 3 hours for an oil change on my outback which I had an appointment for. when I went to ask about my car, the service guy had no clue. he finally came back 15 min later and said the back got out of order. when I told him I have been waiting 3 hours, he said "it hasn't been that long.". Really!!! I have never had any issue here before, but this is ridiculous. this makes me want to find a different dealer for all of my future Subaru needs.

This is my third brand new car purchase but my 5th car purchase. I've never met a car salesman as nice as David Blanton. He spent quality time with me and never pressured me. I ordered the vehicle I wanted and when it came in he took the time to go over everything with me and made sure I was comfortable with everything so I could drive it home. I purchased a 2016 Subaru Forester. I had come in to look to see what you had. Your dealership has been recommended to me by a couple of people. When I came in I met Trent Henderson one of your sales consultants, when I arrived and he was extremely friendly and personable. I enjoyed working with him he was extremely helpful, he made sure that I was comfortable due to my injury and found me a place to sit while we talked. I had come in only to look and ended up leaving with a new 2016 Subaru Forester with extended warranty of 72 months or 60000 miles and oil change program and I don't remember what its called but its that protection for the paint and the fabric in the car. However I cannot say how much I appreciate Trent he was so great and he went over everything with me with my new car before I left, he also told me that if I had any other questions to call him and he would answer any further questions I had. I have had a couple of questions and have called Trent and he has answered those questions for me and I so appreciate that. I have never worked with a better car salesman then Trent. Trent also gave me the card of a service consultant to call if I needed any service on my car.

Stopped in for our first look at the CR-V. Our first contact was Jeff Barnett. Told Jeff we were just looking and not buying in the near future. Jeff was very knowledgeable (not something you find in all sales persons) and answered all of our questions. His approach made us feel he was helping us rather than selling us. Though we told him we were not buying in the near future, he spend as much time as we needed. Our interest grew in the CR-V and Jeff was good with follow up questions and a second drive. Almost 3 weeks later we have purchased the CR-V EX-L. If the vehicle is as good as Jeff was helpful, we will be very pleased with it.

car broke down on my husband way to work at 6am. He was able to get it to the car dealer and I took our pick up and met him at Darrell Waltrip at 6:30am so he could leave and make it to work in Nashville on time. Even though they were not officially open yet they let me inside on that cold and rainy day to wait for 2 hours for their shuttle to take me back home to Spring Hill--this was on Friday. On Monday I was having extensive arm surgery and unable to drive for weeks. They fixed the car over a few days and found out the real problem with the code that kept coming up on it. By the end of the week the car was finished but I was having a problem figuring out how we would get my husband 30 minute drive north of our house to pick up the car so I called Kwame at the dealership asking for another favor. To have the car delivered to our home. He understood our medical issue and special request and had the porters deliver it to our home that day so when my husband got home from work he only had to worry about taking care of me and not chasing around to get a ride to get the car the next morning. They went above and beyond the call of duty to take care of us. Thank you so much.

I bought the first 2016 Honda Civic Touring from Darrell Waltrip Honda. Bill Davis was my sales person. Working with Bill was great. He was very prompt to respond to any questions I had. He never made me feel like I was under any pressure to buy although I'm sure if I had let go of the keys someone else was standing in line behind me to buy the car. Unlike many car sales people I have met, Bill knows a lot about the products he sales and he lives it. He owns a Honda. Also, while my wife and I were finalizing the deal on the car, Bill was in the lobby helping me kids get in the race car and texting their pictures to me... so funny. He could have been after that next sale but he was laser focused on staying with us from beginning to end. I will be recommending Bill Davis to everyone that tells me they are considering a Honda.

Our time buying our Crosstour with Vincent Lem was good. We are older and hard to understand some of the new technology. Mr. Lem took alot of time showing us about the car. We did not buy the car on our first trip but after talking with Mr. Len, knew we would buy from him. He also gave us his cell number if we ran into other computer things that we could not figure out. Thank you Mr. Lem. The car has served us well and since we had a good experience with the buying, we will tell our friends.

We recently purchased a new Honda Odyssey touring elite from Darrell Waltrip Honda. Our sales person, Betsey Allen, made the process so incredibly easy. She was extremely attentive to all of our concerns and needs. She able to find the exact style and color that we wanted. Being new to the world of minivans, I had tons of questions and she was able to answer all of them. I had a great experience with Betsy Allen. She was the most honest and kind people that I have ever worked with when purchasing a vehicle. Due to my hectic schedule, I am unable to take a lot of time out of the day, and she was more than willing to bend over backwards to do whatever was convenient for me. She even drove all the way out to the Medical college that I attend in order to have my windows tinted. I could have have asked for a better experience, and I love my coupe!

I stopped by the Darrell Waltrip Honda Dealership while looking for a new car. I won't be buying until May, but I wanted to get a good idea of what is out there. Vincent Lem was super helpful and friendly right from the beginning! He showed me what cars were in my price range, helped me decide between Honda and other brands, and was very honest the whole time (which is so refreshing!). Vincent was really knowledgeable about all makes and models, and answered literally all of my questions. I didn't visit any other dealerships after talking with Vincent. I will DEFINITELY return in May to Vincent at Darrell Waltrip Honda to buy a car. I recommend Vincent to anyone looking to buy a car!

I recently purchased a CRV from Darrell Waltrip Honda. My Sales Consultant was Betsy Allen. It ended up being a several week process due to numerous unforeseen circumstances. Betsy was knowledgeable and accommodating every step of the way, from finding me the exact car with the features I wanted to rescheduling several appointments due to bad weather. My parents have been going to Darrell Waltrip Honda for over 15 years. I live in Memphis but I often travel to see my parents in Franklin. My dad wanted to take me to the dealership to meet Betsy Allen and to look at the new 2015 Honda CRV's. Betsy and I went for a test drive and it felt like we had known each other for years. She was extremely knowledgeable and so easy going. I felt no pressure from her whatsoever. The overall experience was outstanding. I absolutely love me car. It is perfect for me and for my two sons. First time Honda buyers, my wife and I were comparing the 2015 Odyssey to the Sienna. During the test drive we asked our salesperson, Bridget Beane what the main differences were between the vans and she didn't speak negatively about the Sienna but demonstrated features the Sienna didn't have, the different suspension, quality materials, etc. As a result, we didn't visit Toyota and a couple of hours later left in our new Odyssey very satisfied customers! I am a local CPA and of course ALL about numbers thus Bridget's no nonsense approach on the price of the Odyssey and my trade value were invaluable. She is a true asset to this organization! I found a used vehicle on there online inventory and Called to inquire about it I spoke with a representative who told me to go to the dealership and ask for a Greg stone I called a few hours later to confirm my appointment to see the vehicle I was assured by the representative that the vehicle was there and ready to be seen I left work during my lunch break and drove 20 minutes away and arrived to speak with Mr Stone but was greeted by someone else who told me that the vehicle I wish to see is not for sale because of issues I wish I would have known that before I drove down there what a joke

What started out as a simple oil change quickly turned into a huge mess at DW Honda. My car was running fine before they touched it. Immediately afterwards, it was running sluggish, accelerating rough, and shifting hard. So I took it right back to them. They drove it and saw the problems, but couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. But they went ahead and told me, "These issues couldn't be caused by an oil change.. it must be something else." Since it was Saturday and they couldn't figure out the issue, they had to keep it until Monday. I am thankful that they gave me a loaner car during that time, even though I had to wait an additional 30 minutes to get the car. Nobody was in a very big hurry to do anything. On Monday, nobody had contacted me by mid-day, so I called them. They had found the problem: They put too much oil in the car. Let me repeat that: THEY PUT TOO MUCH OIL IN THE CAR!! I would expect that level of incompetence from Wal-mart... but not a dealership. It's completely unacceptable. When I came to pick up my car, the boy at the counter didn't seem to care. He just said, "We're bringing it around for you... we got everything taken care of... no worries" (imagine that in a 'I don't care about anything' voice). At this point, they hadn't even offered to refund the oil change. So I demanded to speak to the manager, Mike Van. Mike was actually very nice. For my troubles, he agreed to refund the oil change and give me the next 2 free (which is like offering a free cruise after the ship breaks down.. why would I want to do that again?? But it was a nice gesture.) Several days later... no refund yet. Just filed a dispute with the credit card company. The Good: Mike Van seemed to care that I was satisfied. The Bad: Nobody else care if I was satisfied. The Ugly: They put TOO MUCH OIL in my car. And they had to keep it overnight to figure that out. I'm sure this was just a horrible mistake. I hope they don't do this often. But after my experience, I can't recommend them to anyone.

If you are looking for a non-pushy and helpful salesperson I would recommend Betsy Allen. She is quick to return phone calls, very easy to deal with and honest. I like this dealership since it only keeps the best of the used cars that come through and thus I was told by two different outside mechanics that it was not necessary for them to even check the car prior to purchase since it was a Waltrip car. The purchasing process was slightly confusing with new figures that were strongly suggested to be added at the last step to the bottom line but I eventually understood that I was just being offered an additional warranty but the explanation for the price of this warranty was confusing to both me and my spouse. Anyway, I would go back again to this dealership and by the way, they match repair figures from other Honda dealerships. Hope this helps.

He nor his managers were "slick" in their sales techniques and they were polite and laid back. No pushy "today's the only day for this deal" type negotiations. I want to write this review to help fellow Honda owners and prevent them from being swindled. I bought a Honda in 2011. It was used and I decided to take it to Darrell Waltrip Honda for service when indicated. I have never been one to subscribe to routine maintenance and my 1999 Xterra has never had any problems. But since this vehicle is being utilized to transport my family, I have been timely in its maintenance. I returned again to Darrell Waltrip in Franklin on Murfreesboro Road for another service visit on April 14th. I was told it would cost over $800. I left and got a phone call about 90 minutes later telling me that "while the vehicle was still on the lift" it needed rear brake pads and could use a new set of tires. The brake pads definitely but the tires could wait until the next service visit. The cost for the brake pads $250. The cost for 4 new tires over $1200. They say this "while its on the lift" statement to pressure you into doing something without checking on what it actually costs. Come to find out the brake pricing was $75 overcharged and the tire replacement $500 overcharged. I opted to do the brakes there when he said he would match the competitor price. I picked up the car to the tune of over $1000 for this routine service visit. I drove home and the next morning one of the tire sensors was reading low pressure. I had to take the kids to school, go to a bank for a previously scheduled appointment and then go back to school to pick the kids up from morning class. I had to fill the tire 4 times. I immediately went to Discount tire and was told the wear on the tires was bad and they would have recommended replacement, and that the wear caused a tear in the already thinned sidewall. I replaced all 4 tires with the same as what the manufacturer recommended for $760 plus an $80 rebate. I called Darrell Waltrip first thing in the morning to let them know of the tire issue and George in service stated I probably ran over something and that's what the problem was and they weren't responsible. I then called early in the afternoon to speak to Archie the service manager and he didn't return my call until after 5pm. I told him what happened and I told him I would like a refund on the rotating and balancing and the alignment and he said that they didn't do a rotation and balance and he couldn't refund me the alignment. He also didn't apologize for his company's practice of overcharging its loyal customers. If I hadn't hit anything why did I need a $75 alignment. This leads me to question the necessity of all the other things that they did during my service visit. It is not so much the issue with my need to replace the tires a day after the service which is coincidental at best, but the fact that they overcharge you for things that you probably don't even need at the time and way over charge you for the things that you do need. How can they look you in the eye and smile as Russell did knowing that he tried to overcharge me $600 for things that I needed and still want me to trust them as a Dealership. I can tell you that if you need service for your Honda go around the corner to Firestone for brakes, filters and fluids and go to Discount Tire near the mall for tires. Heck, they will even rotate and balance your tires routinely after that for free. But if for some reason you HAVE to utilize a Honda dealership for your service, go to Crest before ever thinking of patronizing Darrell Waltrip Honda. I gave them the chance to make it right and they have chosen not to. Do not let something worse happen to you or your family. You need to go to someone you can trust. You need a dealership and service department that you can trust to tell you what you need and charge you a fair price for the parts and services. Darrell Waltrip Honda on Murfreesboro Road in Franklin Tennessee is not that place. If you are in their service department waiting room reading this, I would get back in your car and leave.

My husband and I just bought a new 2014 Honda Civic EX-L. Great experience. Everyone that we dealt with was very nice and accommodating. They even played with our 2 yo when she wasn't in their play area! When talking about pricing and the details every thing was very clear and there was no haggling or issues. There were no hidden costs. I would say it was the best car buying experience I've had and it was with a 2 yo who was beyond ready to eat and nap! We were there from around 8:30 until noon. I'm not fond of our daughter running around at a place I do not know or in vehicles. They did not seem to care and I'd dare to say encouraged her playing in the car to make sure she liked it as well. It was very sweet and attentive to ALL of us - not just my husband for whom would be the main driver. We live in Hendersonville and would drive back there again for any other car needs. They did not try to 'push' any extras on us. They did show us the list of what we could get on it (and what it already had marked). They also had to show/tell us about specific things so that we knew what our options were which was fine. As soon as we said, 'No Thanks.' they said 'Okay' and moved on! Loved it! We are people that know what we want, what it cost and what we are willing to pay. We had already done our research and were very impressed with their (Heather's) knowledge about the vehicle and the laws and what's now required. Not once was there an unanswered question. I've seen the bad ratings from here and was hesitant to even go, but am VERY glad that we did. Maybe there is new management or maybe they are just working on what there issues were, but whatever it is, it's working!!! Honestly cannot say enough good about them and the experience!

Before you bring in your Honda for routine scheduled maintenance, check with Crest, Reddell or Import Specialty first. I just took my 2011 Odyssey for the 30k service & to fix a noise in the pass side front wheel well. The price was $550. I was ok with the price until I learned that $550 is $200-$300 more than Crest or Reddell, for the same service. Furthermore, DW's 30k service is more involved than Honda recommends. Seems like that's the trend, all dealerships do that. That is a good reason to go to Import Specialty. I digress, not only did we get screwed on the price, THEY DIDNT FIX THE NOISE. If you bought a Hendrick Autoguard extended warranty, any ASE cert shop will honor it. You don't have to be captive to DW. Going forward, I'm taking my business to any of the aforementioned businesses. That star on the car means you got screwed by Ol' DW Their service dept ruined an otherwise pleasant buying experience. 12/18 FOLLOW UP: I took my Civic in with the Odyssey. I was instructed that I MUST get new rear brakes and rotors. "Your car is dangerous to drive" I was told. They wanted $400 for new rotors and tires. When I asked if they could just do the brake pads, I was told "Due to liability reasons". I left, seeking another opinion I took the "dangerous" Civic to another repair facility. I was told the rotors were fine and any wear was barely noticeable. I was charged $60 for two Honda OEM brakes.

My wife and I went to the Subaru/Volvo dealership to test drive a car she will be ordering as a company car. Upon arrival we had a salesman that walked up and very coldly asked if we needed help or wanted to be left alone. We told him the situation and he immediately brushed us off when he realized we weren't going to be a commission sale. So, we went to the Honda dealership to speak w a manger and ask if there was anyway we could test drive the vehicle before she ordered it. Heather, a sales associate for Honda then offered to walk over to the Volvo/Subaru dealership to go on a test drive with my wife and I. She was very helpful and willing to give us her time, knowing she would not get commission for it. I, having sold cars in the past, appreciated her willingness to spend time with my wife and I and would highly recommend asking for her.

Saw ad for gold Prius V with Bluetooth, leather seats, premium sound system. Called and made tentative deal to purchase car. Traveled 100 miles to discover was a base Prius or Prius I at best with cloth seats, no premium sound, and no Bluetooth. No wonder was advertised as such a good deal. Wasted my time killing myself to get there and $35 worth of fuel. No explanation from salesman. Wrote scathing e-mail next morning and have yet to hear any response. Same ad still there. Amazing!

I bought a Honda Certified 2011 Accord EX-L Coupe with about 40,000 miles from these folks. I felt like they did their best to make sure I was happy, and I was. My sales rep, Lewies Vander, was very thorough with me and didn't leave me feeling like I was being duped into paying more than I wanted. I think negotiations went fairly smoothly, with us reaching a reasonable middle ground. The financing department shopped around to get me the absolute best interest rate possible, and I'm super pleased with how low it is. Really, there's not enough good things to say about these guys. The only thing I was moderately dissatisfied with was the amount of time I spent waiting, but Lewies is a cool guy and kept me company throughout the whole process. All in all, it was a great buying experience, and I will be back should I ever decide to buy another car.
