Last Saturday we purchased a 2013 Honda Pilot EX-L Certified vehicle from Charlie's Honda. We were met by a young man, Riley, who treated us with the utmost respect and conducted himself professionally the entire time. We were pleased with his overall knowledge and ability to answer our questions, and most importantly, was willing to seek help if there was a question he couldn't answer on the spot - which wasn't often. Once he patiently let us tryout several vehicles, including dealing with my six year old son, he passed us off to Phil and Alex who treated us with the same patience, honesty and professionalism. They were able to meet our budgetary needs, get us into a vehicle that was the right fit for our family, and at no time did my wife or I feel pressured to buy; the same feeling I left with the first time we purchased our CR-V from them three years ago. Charlie's Honda will continue to have our business for as long as we need a new or quality pre-owned vehicle.

My wife, son and I travelled from Bangor to look at a used Pilot. I asked the Internet Manager the interior, which he replied was gray. When we got there, it was black interior. Not a big deal, but we don't like black interior. We took it for a test drive with the salesperson, Pat Michaud, who was great. Where the deal broke down was whenthe sales manager, Ray Blanchard, attempted to bully us into the deal. I told Ray I had a number in mind of what I wanted for a trade in, which was $1000 more than he offered. He told me they had already taken $1000 off the vehicle, so it was the same as getting $1000 for my trade in. In turn, I stated it wasn't the same, he was just moving numbers around. I told him we were going to go to supper and discuss it. He blocked my path to door and asked "what if I give you the extra $1000, would you do it?" I thought about it for a second and asked if he could check to see what my payments then would be. He replied "not unless you commit to the deal." I've never been at a dealership where they wouldn't give me all the figures of a deal unless I "committed." He spoke down to me on several occassions, and told me that the deal was "only good for today." I'd think that a dealership would be receptive at allowing customers time to think about purchasing a vehicle before spending $30,000. I would not go back there again.

We bought our third new CRV in three years as we enjoy them so much. We travel extensively from Maine to Tucson each year, with forays into the wild reaches in between, and the CRV never disappoints. I was recommended to Charlie's Honda by a friend who introduced me to the manager right at the outset. I didn't come absolutely ready to buy but to choose between two vehicle models. The Salesman, David Palumbos, understood and showed me both makes and their features. I felt well informed and was able to make the choice right then and there. The financing process was good and I drove away happy with my new wheels. David was very friendly, knowledgeable and not at all pushy. I felt like I was in charge of my purchase.

My stop at Charlie's was an unscheduled morning stop. I was on my way to another dealership to purchase a used Honda Ridgeline and decided to swing to Charlie's to see if they had anything I wanted to look at. Paul D. had come in early and he ask if he could help me. I explained that I had only 30 minutes to gather some information to see if they might have a better alternative for my needs. After finding out my needs he suggested the Honda CRV and perhaps a Lease? He quickly pulled up one for me to try and while we were on the test drive he had Ray B. work up the numbers for a lease. When we arrived back at showroom they had all the numbers ready for me and were on track to meet my time schedule issue. The test drive proved the CRV to be all it claimed. We sat down and went over all the numbers, most of which were within line for my budget while one was not. We discussed the number which was not lining up for me and within 5-10 minutes were able to make adjustments so that everything came into place making the deal doable for the lease. I also needed a trailer hitch for my business work and they quickly put the CRV into their shop and installed it for me. The entire experience was very friendly, professional, easy to talk with, and had a no nonsense approach. As you already know I did sign the Lease and am anxious to see how the CRV works with my business and family needs. As for would I recommend Charlie's to you??? You Bet! Do yourself a favor and at least go and speak with them to see if they can assist you with your needs. Gary P.

Went in after doing some looking online. Charlie was very no- pressure, he showed me a few different cars with in my price range and ultimately made the numbers work for the car I wanted. I was also able to switch out the seats for heated leather which they took care of EVERYTHING! I will definitely use them again and would recommend them to any one look for a laid back no pressure car shopping experience.

I first traded in my mazda3 with an Accord, then traded in the Accord for an Odyssey. Peter was so friendly and didn't hesitate to let me test drive as many cars I was interested in. Then Josh offered really good deals on both of the trades in. Over all, a satisfied experience. I would recommend this dealer to anyone looking to buy a used or a new car. Comparing to other dealers in Western Ave, Charlie's Honda is indeed the best. Their good customer service drove me to change my mind and ended up with an Odyssey, though my initial intention was to get a Sienna. Didn't get somebody who is courteous to work with in Nissan or in Toyota. Charlie's Honda is far much better of a dealer than everybody else in the area.

We had a dented oil pan on our Subaru that the Prompto oil change place in on Western Ave in Augusta pointed out to my wife. She got two estimates to fix at local garages - it is a very straightforward fix. She wanted to go to the dealership (Charlies) to give them a shot, I told her it would be more expensive, but she liked the last dealership she had dealt with where we lived previously. They put the car on the lift, told her it needed a new oil pan (which she had already told them) and they quoted a price almost twice as much as the other two shops. She told them it was a lot more expensive than the other quotes. They then told her it would be $49 for the estimate. When she balked they said she couldn't have her keys back until she paid up so she did. I called them later that afternoon to complain, they sounded miffed, said time was money. A minute later they said they would refund half of it. I told them that since they never told her they charge for estimates that they could refund all of it or I would call the State Attorney General's Office Consumer Protection Division and Subaru Corporate. They refunded it all. Great service! Blacklisted for life.

The service crew at Charlies Honda is superb! I bought my used accord in 2011 and was not very happy with the service management at that time. Josh Fendersons attitude,knowledge and general professionalism in the industry is a welcome relief when I walk through that door. I needed snow tires for my accord and Josh researched tires for the car and my winter driving ability. Within 48 hours the tires were purchased and on my car. Driving in todays snowstorm (on the back roads of Maine) was the ultimate test. The tires are perfect, the cost very reasonable and an overall pleasant experience. We love charlies honda!!! Mike Moran sales manager and Dustin Gay Sales rep. were awesome, they worked with us for days trying to make something work out for our price range and most importantly they found us a car that is safe, reliable and comfortable for not just us but for our 3 1/2 year old daughter. They were very accommodating while we had quite a long wait in the showroom for paperwork, they offered coffee and donuts, even bought us a pepsi and offered to turn on the football game for us to watch!!! Overall we love them and have had a wonderful experience and WILL be returning to do further business with them and will pass on the name to everyone who is interested in purchasing a vehicle!!! I would have given the dealership a higher rating, but it depends on who I work with. There is a manager who I find somewhat rude and unprofessional. However, there is another young man, Mike, who is friendly and appropriate. He has waited on me the last two times I was at Charlie's Honda and the personal experience was much improved. I have only gone in for general maintenance so far and have found that my Hondas, (all four, for me and my 2 sons, I have bought from manager, Todd Allaire before he was a Charlies and since he came to Charlies) have never needed anything more than routine maintenance. Those routine visits are important for customer loyality and this guy, Mike, seems to understand that.

I have lived in different parts of Maine for many years, and have gone through quite a few service departments with my vehicles! I've found that Charlie's in general is a great dealership to work with, especially in their service departments. I did, however, hear word of mouth that the Honda service in particular was 'better' than the other Charlie service departments, so I've been working with them since then. As an older woman, it's hard to find somewhere to take my car to where I know I will be treated fairly and not as if I am clueless about cars, etc. My first experience was a simple oil change, and I worked with Mike Wing in the service department there. Now whenever I go back, I will only speak with him on the phone, and I like to come in when I know I will be able to work with him. I now take my vehicle to Charlie's Honda for all of my needs. I find Mike to be a great representative of the dealership and Honda in general, and have recommended him and his service department to other friends in the Central Maine area. Mike is kind and trustworthy, which are difficult traits to find within that type of business. I have also had some interaction with Josh in service, and find him to be kind, patient and helpful. I will continue to bring my vehicle there for everything.

I've had to contact this dealership several times and I've never had a good experience. I'm either fed some story about my car's issue being "normal" or I'm told they can't help me. The prices are astronomical and the service it terrible. Avoid this dealer at all costs.

I went in for the cash for clunkers program and found the staff to be uncooperative and rather rude. I was given a hard time about my paperwork, though it met all the needs for the program. Their staff was likely misinformed or perhaps lied about titles for older vehicles in Maine. We were also told that they were open until 6:00 and drove an hour and got there by 4:10, but found out once we arrived that they were stopping the CARS program at 5:00! We were left with no time to be able to sort out the (non-existent) title issue.Since returning home, I have called four other dealers (two in Portland area, one in Auburn and then another in New Hampshire) and all have agreed that the title and other paperwork I have are in order.Finally, I found the staff (including the manager on duty) arrogant. We were barely in the door before being treated so poorly. We were ready to buy the car on the spot with cash down and not even given the opportunity.I would never do business with them and encourage others to stay away. There are several other dealers that are less than an hour away who are more than willing to be of service to their customers.

They don't really service your vehicle. They over charge and do a poor job of the service when done. You say you have a specfic problem and they will give you a hard time about it. Like we are not suppose to know anything about cars. I don't plan on taking my car there anymore.
