Used Cars for Sale at CarMax Knoxville in Knoxville, TN

Bought car. Paid cash and my check reached my bank the next day . That was two weeks ago. I have not received my title yet. I will not buy another used automobile again from someone that will not give me a title for the auto whenI I pay cash for it. The title existed for this auto since it was used. Why can"t it be given to the buyer since it was a cash deal? I will have to take the Knox Co. license to my county to have it changed since they wanted to register it in Knox county.

My experience with CarMax was a short one. After having talked with multiple people about their experience with CarMax, I decided I would give CarMax a try. I poured over their website for at least 5 hours over the past week and narrowed my choices down to 2 full sized trucks. Neither of these cars were located at the Knoxville Carmax, but both were offering 'Free Transfer' from their current location to the Knoxville store. I spent a few more hours deciding upon which of the two trucks I wanted and off to the website I went. I knew that I would be trading in my current truck as part of the transaction, so I planned to have the truck transfered in and I would make the trip to Knoxville to look over the new truck and get my trade in appraised. To the website I went, selecting the truck and initiating the transfer. Within 20 minutes my phone rang. Not expecting a call from them that quickly, I let it go to voice mail. When I checked my voice mail, it was a rep from CarMax in Knoxville wanting to talk to me. I called him back. While waiting for him to take my call, I sat there listening to their 'hold' music, which includes promises of your experience with CarMax being unique, easy and hasslefree. However, when the rep finally got to the phone, 'hassle' reared it's ugly head. The rep stated that they would not transfer the truck into Knoxville until they had had an opportunity to appraise my trade in. Really? That's news to me. I understand that there's expense related with moving a vehicle from point A to point B, but never did the website give any hint that a request for a transfer could be denied in this nature. When I think back about the CarMax website, at no point did I see any statements stating that 'some restrictions apply' or 'upon approval of trade-in'. So...forget it CarMax. I'm sorry but you had one and only one opportunity to prove to me that you're unique and hassle free. You blew that... I did get something good out of this whole experience though - I learned that: 1) My belief that car dealers are all the same... 2) Dealing with a local dealer is easier than dealing with a national dealer

I absolutely recommend CarMax in Knoxville to anyone that wants a smooth, friendly, hassle-free car buying experience. They do not pressure the customer and are honest about pricing. This experience has been the most positive I have ever had!!!!

My wife found the car she wanted on line and we visited the Knoxville Carmax that evening. We knew the no-haggle policy upfront, and based on previous research and the condition nand features of the car they had on the lot, we felt like their price was fair. We did not have a trade-in so I cannot address teh fairness of their trade-in values. There was no pressure from the salesman, and they took care of some minor cosmetic issues after we had already signed a sales contract. Cosmetic fixes were made very quickly and results were very high quality. I would purchase from this dealer again.

Overall it was good. They are a good service if you know what you want and go in with that in mind. A little pushy, but like I said, I knew what I wanted and got what they had in that style. I would recommend if you are in the same catagory.
