If you are looking for a car, Wholesale Direct is where you need to go. I have had really bad luck with used vehicles over the last couple of years and was a little worried about searching for a car that was dependable and affordable. My family will not buy from any other dealer, so I drove down from Richmond and gave it a shot. Evans not only found me the perfect car, a Toyota Sequoya, the price was lower than expected and came with a warranty since they knew how important the piece of mind was for me that there would be no expensive repairs if something unexpected came up. What you won't find at Wholesale Direct is someone trying to "upsell" you, no pushy salesmen, no gimmicks. What you WILL find is excellent customer service, a great quality vehicle, and realizing that with such great pricing you can afford exactly what you are looking for! I would wish you luck in your car shopping, but with Wholesale Direct you don't need it, they only sell quality vehicles, and if they don't have what you are looking for on their lot they will get it. In 28 years of buying cars,this was the best car buying experience I have ever had.

Great Long Distance Buying Experience

I contacted Mr. Evans Helms to assist my daughter in buying her first car while away at college. We live 3,000 miles away and over a period of several weeks Mr. Helms worked with us over the phone to help us select a used vehicle. Best Car Buying Experience Ever. Period.

Let me start by saying I don't usually write reviews, but I've never had a better experience buying a car. I was used to dealing with pretentious and condescending sales people at major dealerships all over VA. On a whim, I pulled into the Wholesale Direct lot in Newport news when I saw a minivan out front. The appearance of the place threw me a little with gobs of cars sitting out front of a random building, but honestly, I'm soooo glad I did. It was the 6th dealership I'd been to that day. Evans Helms treated me like an adult and didn't pressure me at all. I was dumbfounded. The closest thing I can compare it to is going to carmax with better prices and without the wait. Not only was the experience positive, he gave me more for my trade-in, and I saved THOUSANDS of dollars on the van compared to anything in the area. After pulling the trigger, I took it to a dealership in Willamsburg to have the oil changed. The inspection came back spotless, with new brakes to boot. There were two minor things wrong with the vehicle (mirror and fog light) and Evans paid out of pocket to get them fixed. I would recommend these guys to ANYONE. I mean it. Check them out, you'll be happy you did.

Bad attitude and poor customer service

My dad was looking to buy a 2012 honda civic on the lot and we went inside to talk with these guys about what kind of deal they could give us on the car. We had been to this place twice and Evans had been disrespectful to me and my family both times. We went in one day to look at the car and he just gave us keys and said he didnt have time to help us. So we left we came back today and he just wanted to sit on the phone or at his desk and insulted my dad. This place is very small no where to park except by nearby parking lots. This place clearly doesn't sell their cars and nor do they care about the representation they are putting out to the rest of the city.

First time car buy was a breeze!

Evans Helms was a wonderful salesman. The process was long but painless. The only reason it took as long as it did was because he followed several different avenues before deciding on which would save me money and keep my payments low. Fast, Easy, Honest

After looking for a minivan at every dealer in Newport News and Williamsburg we happened to drive by Wholesale Direct Auto Sales and spotted a van in their lot. We had done our homework so we knew what we could get our car for (they gave us more than Carmax) and what we wanted. They didn't haggle, didn't push us, they just cleaned it up (they removed a smoke smell which is totally gone), got the paper work together and it was done. I highly recommend them.

Helpful & Honest Salesman

Had a great experience purchasing a used car from Evans and Colton. I had been searching for the right used car for my daughter (something safe, reliable and reasonably priced) for a few months. I found it at Wholesale Direct. These gentleman allowed us to test drive the car twice and encouraged us to take the vehicle to our mechanic to ensure we were getting a great car. The pricing was fair and the purchase/title process were smooth. I look forward to buying my next car from Wholesale Direct and have already recommended them to a friend and a co-worker.

Awful Experience

I saw a car on the website that was exactly what I wanted. I spoke with Evan consistently for about a week. Once I took time out of my day to drive there from Richmond, he was abrasive and all about the sales. Initially when I got into the car he was professional.When it came time to do paper work he was impatient when I asked questions, condescending and treated me as if I should know the answer. He also balled up one of the documents I was considering signing bc he was frustrated with me asking questions about it. I feel that I was discriminated against because I am a young (African American) female. He also failed to call me following that visit, although I wouldn't have given him my business after that experience. POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE & AWFUL ATTITUDE.

Stupendous Quality and Selection

While driving down Jeffereson, a street full of Car dealerships as one might know, Wholesale Direct stood out. Their front lot was stocked we high quality cars and motorcycles. Having wanted a motorcycle for a while, I stopped by to get a quote on one. The Sales Manager was very personable and was able to provide me with a top notch price that I could NOT pass up. What made this buy even better, was the fact that having bad credit was not a problem. They were able to finance me in house. The next time I buy a bike I will for sure come back to Wholesale Direct. This business is a MUST for anyone.

Great Customer Service

After having shopped around for a buyer of my 2004 Jetta for a while, I came across Wholesale Direct. Mr. Crabtree and his team provided excellent customer service. When asking why I was looking to sell my car, I told them of my situation and they welcomed it with open arms. They gave me top dollar and blew the competition's (CarMax and others) offers out of the water. They even told me, when I return from my overseas travels, to come back by and they will set me up in any car that I might be interested in. I applaud Wholesale Direct and will definately return. Great Experience.

I have purchased 2 cars in the last year and 1/2 from Wholesale. A newer one for myself and a starter for my son. They had both cars we wanted for much less than the big dealership down the road. Paperwork was prepared in advance and ready for signature - no waiting and a breeze of a process. They also followed up to make sure we were happy with the purchase. As far as car purchasing - great overall experience.

Great Experience

I initially was looking at a Lexus RX 350, that they had. I told them that I was trying to decide between that vehicle, and a Acura MDX. They told me that they could get me a MDX without an issue. I decided to go with the MDX. They beat Casey's price by $2,000. The experience was also very painless. I'm very happy and am definitely a customer for life.

they need help

Bad service,I came in to look at a car,the salesman took my info,3 days later he nevered called me back,in when I call up their,he's never their,in whoever picks up act like they they they help in say that they will tell my sales person to call me back,never got that call back(bad business)

Poor Business Practice.

After making a verbal arrangement for the 2007 Chevrolet Express Van 1,500, the salesperson calls me back later the same day to let me know he could not honor the arrangement we had made earlier. I had already made arrangements to pick up the van the next day which was 190 miles away and 3.5 hours. This is poor business practice and would encourage anyone interested in doing business with this company to proceed with caution.
