I have been researching buying an Outback for a year now - I visited other dealerships and none of them compared to Walser Subaru in Burnsville. I decided to order a car instead of buying one off the lot because I knew exactly what I wanted in included and what I didn't need. The entire process was seamless. Sean Zaboroski handled the purchase from start to finish and was very easy to work with. I really appreciate that he took all the time needed for me to understand the pricing, options, warranties and then explained all the features of my new Outback. I would highly recommend Walser Subaru and Sean.

I was very pleased with my Subaru experience.

Charlie Leang made my buying experience pleasant and comfortable. I am a 79 year old woman, who along with my son, had looked at several different makes of small SUVs. I was most impressed with the Subaru, and with our trade-in, I felt we got a really good price. Charlie explained all the "bells and whistles" in my Forester, took several pictures for us, and cheerfully sent us on our way. All in all, I would give Charlie an excellent score!

Horrible Customer Service

My husband brought in his Subaru Impreza WRX STI, looking to sell. The salesman was extremely rude. He barely acknowledged my husband at all. He was very short, and appeared to have better things to do. He started by briefly, very briefly, looking at my husband's car. It was now dark out, and the salesman barely looked under the hood. It would have been best to take the car into the service garage which was well-lit and just a few feet away. But I guess he didn't have time for that. When my husband asked the salesman what he was looking for, the man gruffly responded that he was seeing how "stock" my husband's car parts were. While my husband did do some modifications, he replaced the parts back to stock. This included a brand new engine with virtually no miles. The car was in EXCELLENT condition. But the salesman wouldn't have known that because he took 30 seconds to look in the DARK. The visit continually got worse from there. The salesman announced that they would be going for a test drive, and that he would be driving. Okay, I understand the dealership needing to do a test run on the car. That's no problem. But this salesman's mannerism was completely out of line. He didn't ask, "may I please test drive your car?". Nope. He DEMANDED. He didn't ask at all. It's our car. We would have been happy to let the salesman test it out. But he didn't have the courtesy to ask. He demanded. The last straw was when it came time for the offer. It was a lower offer than what we wanted, and my husband politely declined. The offer didn't make us angry -- we completely understand that dealerships need to make money. We expected to look around and consider a few options. The problem, again, was the salesman's demeanor and attitude. He literally said, "That's the best we can do", then proceeded to turn around a walk away. No eye contact. No hand shake. No thank you for stopping by. Nothing. That is completely unacceptable. If he had said, "I'm sorry, but that is the best we can do. Sorry for not being able to come to an agreement" that would have been perfectly fine. My husband would have left happy. But the guy was downright rude. My husband has worked in retail and service industries. At no time did he ever treat a customer like that, and he never would. My husband would expect to lose his job if he behaved in that kind of an atrocious manner. The sad thing is, we are established customers. We purchased my car from this dealership. You would think that they would treat loyal customers much better. *Note: The choices for visiting this dealer didn't apply but I had to choice. We were looking to sell, not buy or service.

The Walser no haggle price was really good, and we placed an order for a Legacy 2.5i Premium. Charlie continued to provide us excellent service even after we had purchased the vehicle. I can recommend both Walser Subaru and Charlie Leang to anyone considering purchasing a Subaru.

My wife and I were simply looking for and test driving new vehicles with the anticipation of buying in the next few months. After a few other dealers, I convinced my wife to stop by Burnsville Walser Subaru, and this is where everything changed. We walked around looking at vehicles without being interrupted by multiple sales people (a positive to us), and were welcomed by one of the sales people when we finally walked in the door. Kevin asked us a series of questions to understand what we were looking for, and we told him we were looking at the new Forester. We decided to look at new because the pricing was lower than other vehicles we were looking at used. We test drove a few different Foresters with no wait at all. We let Kevin know our situation and that a purchase would also require a "curb buy" from the dealership of our previous vehicle, which was unfortunately not with us that day. A meeting was scheduled for 11AM two days later, and we parted ways. Upon returning to the dealership the two days later, we walked up to the front building and noticed that the car we were highly intrigued with was already pulled up to the front, washed and detailed, and prepped for us to go. We weren't fully committed to buying yet, but we thought we would discuss the fine details. The curb buy process turned out to be the most efficient car sale WE have ever performed, and allowed us to continue with the new car purchase. We then discussed any additional options we would like to have on the vehicle and the additional costs. Priced everything up, and we were on our way to purchasing a new car. All said and done, the curb buy and new car purchase and signing of documents was ~1.5 hours. This was beyond my expectations for the process at hand. This was also on a Saturday when the place was extremely busy. Going back to the details about the staff: Everyone was extremely professional, well mannered, and seemed to have our best interests in mind. We were also informed that the staff does not operate on commission which complimented how polite and patient everyone was. All people involved were extremely efficient in their roles and explained the pertinent information in full. TL;DR (Too long Didn't Read): Beyond my love for Subaru as it is, Walser provided the best purchasing experience (not just car) we have ever had. The staff was amazing, and the preparation and dedication to efficiency is second to none. They offered 100% attention to myself and family, as well as everyone else within the salesfloor while we were there. I would suggest working with the Walser family (not just Subaru) if you are looking for a new/used vehicle. The difference in customer service alone was amazing.

Salesman was rude and they could negotiate with you on the price of your trade in, and the interest rate on the financing, but when asked questions about small items on their car for sale we were told they do not negotiate. I had certain expectations, none of which they were willing to listen to. So much for their non negotiating sales. The whole experience was frustrating and we left feeling like we had been taken advantage of by the sales and finance people. Would never recommend this dealership. No customer satisfaction what so ever.

I was looking for a newer used Subaru Outback to save a few thousand dollars. Found just the vehicle on the showroom floor that was an un-advertised dealer demo car. It was just what I wanted. The service was great getting it out of the showroom and onto the road for a test drive. The buying process on a Friday afternoon was agonizingly slow. It took three hours. The upside was that I worked with one salesperson throughout the entire process. The dealership facility lacked comprehensive displays of accessories and for the vehicle protection packages (rustproofing, paint sealant and interior protection). It wasn't very well explained and the pricing breakdown was a mystery until the final signing. Accessories were selected from the internet or a tri-fold brochure. I would characterize the experience as a no-frills dealership. Two days after I bought the car a $250 coupon came out and the dealership refused to grant me the savings. Once they tell you the price that's it. There is no negotiation on anything.

A++ By far, hands-down, no question the best car buying experience in my history of buying cars from a dealership (and I have done this 6 times). The price was non-negotiable because the price didn't need negotiating. I didn't get sold anything, I was asked if I wanted any other items and my answer of "no" was respected. The dealership was clean, people polite, and was able to have all of my questions answered quickly, concisely, and honestly. I purchased a 2014 XV Crosstrek with the help of Brian, who also had nothing but good things to say about his job since they aren't trained to "sell you" rather "help you" find what's right for your needs and budget. Again, very impressed. Not to mention, the lifetime power train warranty is a BIG plus! Go there. Buy a car. NOW!

The process of buying the car went really great, everyone was nice/helpful. However, a week later I was having a couple of issues and called to ask what they could do. Basically, nothing. I was told they would look at it for free (acted like this was a big favor "normally costs $125", my mechanic would look at it for $19.95) and reminded me I bought it as-is. I know I didn't buy the extra warranty, but it was less than 7 days since I had bought the car and they repeated so many times during the sale how they did a 127 point inspection-they should have found this during the inspection. Had they just handled how they interacted with me when I had problems differently, I would have been much happier and not left with a negative experience. I decided to go to my regular mechanic to get it checked out since I am not very trusting of what they would tell me at this point

I made an appointment over the phone with a gentleman named Alex to drive a used WRX. I showed up for the appointment and expressed my desire to compare the Impreza against the Impreza WRX, as I have never driven a WRX. Three people were sitting at the front reception area, one girl around the age of 20, a man around the age of 35, and another man around 45. I was told by the 35 year old that We dont just let anybody drive the cars; you have to fill out a credit application to make sure you can afford the car first. I am a thirty year old male that works downtown Minneapolis at a major bank, I make over 50k a year. At the time (6/10/2013) I was dressed in business attire as I just got off work. The gentleman turned to the receptionist and stated, Put him on the waiting list. I walked right out. I used to sell Volkswagens for Denny Hecker of all people, and I never saw anybody be treated in that way. I will never go to a Walser dealership, nor will I send anyone I know there.I will be buying a WRX within the next three weeks.

I was very disappointed in the sales tactics of Walser Subaru. I was dealing on a used (2011)1/2 ton truck over the internet/phone and have never felt more uncomfortable with a transaction. I called at 9:00 AM inquiring about the truck. I had several questions such as: warranty details, condition of tires, non-smoker etc. My call was never returned. I called them back at 4:00 that afternoon and was told my inquiry "slipped through the cracks". I was then transferred to another salesperson that assured me she would answer all my questions promptly. Which she did. Then the whole deal took a turn for the worse. I am located 3 hours from this dealer and wanted to make sure I wasn't in for any surprises when I arrived. I had asked for a photo of the bed of the truck which the sales person provided (with some strategically placed floor mats). I was ok with the scratches in the bed of the truck, after all it is a used truck. What I am not ok with is the floor mats were placed to cover up the mounting holes from the 5th wheel hitch! The hitch was never disclosed in the advertising nor was ever mentioned by the sales staff until I asked. I feel if a 1/2 ton truck was used for heavy pulling, the customer should be told upfront and the dealership should advertise that the truck had this optional equipment installed and removed before someone considers a 3 hour drive to purchase.

Im guessing with all these excellent reviews for this dealership, can only be coming from family/friends or themselves, because our experience was the polar opposite. We walked into this dealership on Saturday, June 1, after spending about 1 hour at the Walser Honda dealer, where they were so friendly and willing to help us. I was looking at the CRV, but wanted to compare it to the Forrester, so both Jesse and Darren (at Honda and were awesome) suggested we run over to Walser Subaru. We did.we walked the entire parking lot looking at the new cars, never saw one sales person in the lot. I did see a couple of Forresters out there, so we walked into the building, and found only 3 cars in the showroom, of course not a Forrester. We stood there for about 5 minutes, grabbed a cup of coffee, use the restroom, and stood again, not even a look our way. There were a few people being helped, but there were 5 employees sitting at the front desk (4 men and 1 woman). We walked up to them and interrupted their social chatter. We tried to make a joke about all the bikes sitting in the showroom (mind you, were in a car dealership, they had way more bikes then cars), saying if we buy a car do you get a bike, apparently that deal was over the day before, and the employee made that very clear (again, just a joke, we didnt know about any bike deals). Not one of the 5 asked if we needed any help, we had to ask about the Forrester, and we were told by all of them, that they are sold out, even though I say a couple in the lot. I asked if there was one I could just sit in, and the answer was a blatant NO, that if I wanted to see one, I could go outside and look in the windows of one that was just sold. Thats all they had to offer!!! We asked if they had a shipment coming in..we were told they are also all sold out!!! Give me a break! There was no attempt to suggest anything.not a thing. Like suggesting looking at a bit of a different model, that one could be ordered. I still intend to at least sit inside a Forrester, but I would stay clear of this dealership, absolutely horrible customer service. We walked out of there horribly disappointed, and now we will be sure to spread the word!! At this point, if you are looking at a Subaru, do not go to the Walser dealership in Burnsville.!

My wife and I bought an Outback from Josh and Shawn, and had great fun doing so, which is not the typical way we describe dealing with car dealerships. At Walser Subaru, the focus on customer service, which is too often a cliche and not a reality, was evident from the beginning to the end. When we first entered this dealership's building, we noticed something different immediately. The staff were all right there, the first step through the door through which we entered. This was completely different from the usual car dealership model with which a receptionist sits at a desk and gets someone to help you by paging or calling. At Walser Subaru, such process was completely unnecessary. We were at once greeted and introduced to our salesperson, Josh.Josh clearly knew his stuff. I have been a long-term Subaru enthusiast, so find it easy to distinguish those (few) sales people who know what they are talking about. Josh was one of those. But it was also commendable that Josh did not act to display his knowledge in an ostentatious manner, which, unfortunately, too often happens among sales professionals who know a lot. The way Josh handled our transaction was that he would respond to our questions and comments accurately, and never forced without solicitation his great knowledge upon my wife and me. And because he knew his stuff, it was quite nice to have an intelligent conversation about the car we were looking at which, by the way, is not always an easy experience to have at car dealerships. His manager, Shawn, was always nearby and rendering immediate assistance to us whenever we needed him (instead of hiding in an office somewhere else). It was obvious that his enthusiasm rubbed off on other staff members at Walser Subaru. There was much energy in the place. And it was clear that, not only both Josh and Shawn knew the cars, but do they also love Subaru. Josh knew every story about and development at Subaru that I could bring up, which is not something one would unless you really cared about the brand and its products. And when I spotted on the showroom floor a restored Subaru 360, which I was delighted to see after not having seen one for at least 45 years, Shawn told me, with obvious joy, all about how this 360 came to be at Walser Subaru, and all other stories associated with it. Needless to say, we had so much fun just chatting away with these true Subaru enthusiasts! All of this would be for naught, however, if the actual sales transaction was not beneficial to us. We had done our research on the pricing, and knew that the Walser price was right. With the no negotiation (translation: no game) policy, we received the right deal on our Outback with a minimum of efforts. Not only that, we received more than a fair deal on our trade, which is where dealerships are too often known to make up for the "deals" they give away. Not so at Walser Subaru. My wife and I enthusiastically recommend Walser Subaru to anyone in the area who is looking for a pleasant car buying experience. Try them even if you are not thinking about a Subaru. Maybe you will change your mind.

We were in no rush but really wanted to check out the forester after seeing reviews on it in the snow and steep hill climbs. Josh and Joe were very helpful and provided all the info we needed for a trade in and a new lease. The numbers came out better than I expected and we left the next day with a brand new forester. It is a great place to buy a vehicle, I can't wait to stop back in for free car washes. This is our First Subaru...awaiting winter.

I had done my research, was ready for a battle over price and trade-in. Wasn't even sure I was going to buy a new car. But my anticipated battle never occurred. Torey introduced me to Harry the Outback expert. Walser's price was in the range of Consumer Report bottom line pricing. Walser's estimate on trade-in matched my research on Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book. My salesperson Harry was very informative on the specifics of the model I selected. Harry and Torey did a great job educating me on my options and packages available making my selection clear. Managers were helpful and prompt with the paperwork. Going out of their way to get the vehicle I wanted in a timely fashion. Probably the most pain free and pleasant experience I've had purchasing a vehicle. I appreciated that there was already a discounted price, so I did not have to negociate price. then Shawn could spent the time explaining the car throughly. I was replacing a Audi Avant wagon and mentioned I would sell it out right instead of trading it in, he explained to me that if I traded it in, because of it's value I would pay very much in state taxes. After the trade in, paying $20.00 in state taxes, and canceling my extended warranty, I got more for my car if I sold it myself.Shawn followed up a few days later to see if I was happy with the car, and answered the questions I had after having it for a few days. He also set up a oil change for me in December. I also got Mn plates the day of my purchase so I didn't have to come in just to pick up the plates. Bottom line great service and I am very happy with my new car, it handles great on the road and has been a pleasure to drive.

This is our second purchase from this dealership and our third Subaru in the family. The customer specialists, finance and service staff are outstanding. They treat us with respect, really listen to our needs and exceed our expectations each time we visit. I recommend this dealership and the Subaru product line without hesitation.

Very nice people at this dealership. They have a team approach and it seems to work well. Marked 4 for price because I really thought we would get more for our trade-in but because they have a no-haggle policy, what was quoted was it. We did end up with a nice car.

My review isn't for a specific visit, but more for several visits over a 2 year period. Walser Subaru has always been able to get me in and out quickly for maintenance. The facility is very clean and the service staff are solid. I initially started doing my maintenance there as they were significantly (20-30%) LESS than my previous servicing dealer (Bloomington Subaru). Will definitely keep using them for service in the future, and give them first shot when I buy a new Outback.PS-As a sidenote, this is my third Subaru, with around 200,000 cumulative miles. Have never done anything more than scheduled maintenance and wear and tear over the years.

We visited many Subaru dealerships when I totaled my 2006 Outback which was originally purchased at the Bloomington, MN dealership. They were nice and close to my husbands work location but when we visited the Burnsville, MN dealership I felt as though we were truly important to them and they were focused on us and just Subaru's where the Bloomington, MN dealership was broken into USED, NEW, Acura's, Subaru's; in other words too much going on.Burnsville has that "it" factor that draws you in and keeps you forever!! Don't know all the staff but whenever I arrive for my oil changes etc. it is great to staff familiar staff still employed.Great vehicles; when in my accident the car did all that it is supposed to so my son and I walked away after being T-boned by a semi-truck. Great commercials, love the entire philosophy of your organization and your cars.Thanks.

This was by far the easiest, most comfortable car buying experience we've ever had! The sales staff was very attentive and informative without ever seeming pushy. The building was clean and inviting, and everyone was very professional. We felt so comfortable with them that we actually had them ship a car in another color from a different dealer so that we could buy it at Walser, rather than going elsewhere. We also received a very fair trade-in value for my old, used Subaru that I was a little sad to let go! I have no hesitation about going there for service or other purchases in the future.

I have been very impressed with the overall customer service at Walser Subaru. I very much appreciated the straight-forward information and I never felt like I was being pitched to or being pressured into buying a vehicle that didn't suit my needs.

I have always been treated with respect and dignity in this dealership. Each time that I have been in to shop for a vehicle, have my Subaru serviced, or other reason, the service has been fantastic. They go the extra mile and greet you with a smile. Definitely recommend them for purchasing a vehicle and having service work performed. Michael Masters is the person I have dealt with the most, and he has always been incredibly helpful.

We recently purchased an Outback from Walser. We worked with Maggie Jackson. Maggie was very helpful, knowledgeable, and extremely easy to work with. And she was supported by a terrific team at Walser. Together they worked to make certain that we were offered a deal that made us happy. In addition, the showroom is clean and bright, creating a very pleasant environment. And it did not hurt that our new Outback is a tremendous vehicle. Thank you, Maggie. And thank you, Walser.

From the minute we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile and the salesman took time to get to know us and what we were looking for. He showed us what they had to offer according to what we wanted and let us make the decision on what cars we wanted to test drive - he didn't try to persuade us in any way. Very knowledgable and patient which made the experience much more tolerable. We drove almost 3 hours to look at Subaru's and it turned out to be a very enjoyable and productive time as we drove our Subaru purchase home that day. Special thanks to Mark Frost at Walsar - Great Job! We will be back when we are ready for the next Subaru purchase.

Great low pressure staff that were very knowledgeable. I really appreciated their willingness to work with me on my terms in a low pressure environment. Maggie was awesome and the follow up service I've received has been great as well. I came in prepared to shop several dealerships and already had a good idea of what I wanted in terms of my vehicle so working with such great staff right away sealed the deal. I'm happy with both my purchase and experience.

Hani was great! It's so awesome that your company allows it's dealers to sell used cars off of the other lots in entire family of dealerships. It's much better than having it feel like the salesman is trying to cram whatever car they have on their lot that dat down your throat like the competition. Thank you!

When I decided I wanted to get a new car I wasn't really looking forward of the process to find a car that I wanted. Hani made it easy and it was a fun experience. Before I got there I told him what I was looking for and he had a few different cars lined up and ready for me to test drive. My overall experience car shopping with Hani was great, he didn't rush me, answered all my questions and made sure that I was going to be happy with my choice. I've referred multiple friends to him because I know he will take the time and take care them and they will be in great hands.

We have been dealing with Walser Subaru in Burnsville for nearly 5 years. We have gone there for service with our Subaru (not that it needs much done, just normal maintenance) and now take both of our vehicles there. Oil changes and car washes are free on our Forester XT because we bought it there, and I take our other vehicle there now too because they are easy to work with, I like the atmosphere, and I can trust them to do good work!
