I went to the dealership to look at new cars. I met Joe Weidenfeller the salesman. he took a lot of time to discuss my existing car and a possible replacement even after we made it very clear we were not buying that day.. Thank you and a few issues

I left the car to have the ignition cylinder replaced - which was very sad in a new car with only 27,000 miles. Not your problem, but corporate should know. I was especially pleased with Gordon and Arthur and their expertise because after the cylinder was replaced and I drove away, my directional signals would not work! I went back immediately and told Gordon and he was able to work on the wires/connections and within 10 minutes, it was fixed. If not for him, I would have had to leave the car overnight again! In addition, instead of being frustrated with problem, Gordon and Arthur's caring and welcoming demeanor were SO gratifying. If I were their boss, I'd give them a bonus! Unfortunately, I am selling the car tomorrow due to the cylinder issue, the bacteria that creates a smell in the AC and that I have to have flushed out occasionally (and just purchased a new carbon filter to help), the creaking sound under the car which you fixed by tightening some bolts, the squeaking brakes, and the fact that any time it rains and I have to open the trunk, water pours into the trunk - bad design. I loved my VW Beetle Convertible but I'm afraid with all these little issues early on, things are just going to get worse........You're a great dealership and thanks for all you've done. I went to Volkswagen of Fort Myers in order to upgrade my 2012 VW Jetta. I contacted VW of Fort Myers via their internet link. My inquiry was responded by Diane Gamper, who was very gracious, and helpful in setting up an appointment with me to inquiry about upgrading my vehicle. Prior to my appointment, I was in the vicinity of the VW dealership and pulled in to just look around. I was met by Joe Weidenfeller while searching the lot. I advised Joe I had been in contact with Diane, and was just looking around prior to our appointment about upgrading my vehicle. Joe took the time to explain and answer my questions about what vehicle upgrade options would fulfill what I was looking for. The info I was able to get from Joe was very helpful in my final decision. Making a long story short, I purchased a 2015 Jetta SE from Joe, and Diane. This was my second vehicle purchased from the VW dealership in Fort Myers. To say the least Joe and Diane were extremely helpful, polite, caring, and honest about how they treated me not only as a customer, but as a person as well. I went into vw of Fort Myers and was immediately assisted by Joe Weidenfeller. I was admittedly hesitant due to a pre-conceived opinion of dealers/dealerships..2 minutes into our initial interaction those opinions completely disappeared. I was amazed by how knowledgeable and courteous he was and how hard he and Jeff worked to get me behind the wheel. My Yellow Beetle

Joe is the perfect person to talk to about purchasing a car. The day we decided to shop for a car it was pouring rain. As we pulled into the parking lot a bright yellow 2010 VW Beetle stole my heart. We parked by the front of the building and Joe braved the weather and rain to let me check it out. The last time I bought I car was in 2001, I was apprehensive with the process, but Joe was the best person to talk to. He answered all our questions, in a direct and honest manner. Even going into further detail to explain things we might question later. His friendly demeanor and positive attitude instills trust and goodwill. By the time we left, it was like we had met a new friend. A few days later we stopped by to pick up an antenna for the car, Joe purchased and had it installed for us! This man goes above and beyond for his customers.

Fort Myer VW dealership fantastic!

I use this dealership rather than the dealership in my hometown in Illinois. I couldn't get in to the Illinois dealer for my final free oil change and "check up" before the anniversary of purchase. The Illinois dealer tells me how strict VW is and how they can't honor the final freebie, but then a few weeks later I come to Florida and they tell me VW allows some flexibility and honors it. I wont forget that. Whenever possible, I will use the Fort Myers dealer for everything, including future car purchases. Excellent service, professional staff, nice waiting area. I trust this dealership implicitly and highly recommend them.

ATTENTION VW OWNERS: AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP LIKE A PLAGUE. I sure wish I had. My husband and I are both struggling teachers and we once thought they supported teachers. Until today. It appears as though the lying to customers doesn't stop at the top. I was very disappointed with my car experience. After buying my 2012 Jetta, I found a few small issues within a week of driving my car. Dominic, my sales person, promised that they would be taken care of when I came back in for my first service appointment. At my first service appointment, I was told that these issues weren't covered under a certified used car warranty and that it would cost $300 out of pocket-- on top of a $500 40k mile service that HAS to be done. Dominic conveniently "forgot" about the conversation and he never documented it. Not only was I not told that I would have to pay $500 for a service appointment only 4k miles after driving my car (seriously, why couldn't this service have been done BEFORE I bought the car???) but also that a seller's promise means nothing because he didn't write it down. I was willing to be loyal to VW even after the emissions scandal, but when the local branch doesn't take care of its loyal customers (this is my third VW car), I think I will have to switch to a different brand. Very sad and disappointing.

This is one car deal that must go down in the record books for a shining example of what customer satisfaction is all about. You may recall that it all started 3 years ago when you assembled the lease for us, again while we were in New York. My daughter was about to start her third year at Florida Gulf Coast University and was moving off campus. I dont know if you recall but we visited your show room at the end of that second year. We flew into FT Myers at the start of the school year and drove directly to your show room where you had the Jetta inside all ready for delivery. I was impressed and my wife and daughter couldnt believe their eyes. The paper work was ready and the deal was closed seamlessly in just a few hours we were on the road. Again our experience and your superior service earns a solid 10 stars. During the past 3 years we have serviced the Jetta at your facility. The service team has always performed flawlessly as well. Always offering my daughter convenient service times that fit her school schedule or performing service while she waits in your comfortable waiting area. Absolute Nightmare!!

All I wanted was an oil change and for them to check my AC and an oil leak I had. It took an entire week just to perform those simple tasks. At the end of that week I wound up with a total bill of $529.00. That bill was for the oil change, to tell me whats wrong with the car and for the insurance on the rental car since it did take a WEEK!! To top everything, as they were pulling my car to the front they put down my window and it wouldn't go back up! I will never return to this dealership!! I would rather drive an hour to Naples to have it fixed!!

My husband was in the hospital when I had an accident that totaled our car. I am not knowledgableabout cars and dreaded the process of finding a replacement. I stopped by Volkswagen of Fort Myersand got the luck of the draw with salesman Joe Weidenfeller. Ladies, you do not have to worry about doing this on your own, with a pro like Joe. Questionable Practices

I went to Volkswagen on the suggestion of a friend with the hope of turning our one car with negative equity into two used cars. We were told to see Mike, however, he was with someone else. The person we worked with seemed amiable enough, however, instead of working the deal that we wanted he tried instead to get us into a lease on two new Jettas. Knowing that our credit was less than stellar, I was doubtful of this solution. After the sales rep pulled our credit report for us to review, our scores were unbelievably low. Because of this, our interest rate went through the roof and the offer went from two Jettas to one (which is the total opposite of what we were trying to accomplish). Not being able to get us into a second car (he never even attempted to get us into used cars like we requested), we walked away, questioning what could have happened to our credit that would drop our scores so low. Seeking answers, I logged into Credit Karma this morning to find that the credit scores presented to me last night were 100 points LOWER than my credit scores being reported by Credit Karma today. How is this even possible??? I can't help but question the reputation of the dealership and the finance manager when I am confronted with such a vast difference in my credit scores after 12 short hours. I would recommend to anyone that you do your credit research in advance. Be educated so that when a dealership tries to get one over on you so they can jack your interest rates, you can call them on it.

My experience here was very nice. Joe Weidenfeller did his absolute best to ensure that I got the right used car for me, that I got the highest possible amount for my trade in, and that I got a fair price for my purchase. In fact, as others have pointed out, it seems very likely that he took a commission hit to help me out so I could afford to pay cash and keep my family safe. There are still some honest people out there, but few are as upright as Joe.

Exceptional Service

Our family decided to visit your dealer to purchase a new vehicle for our son and this dealer was our third one after visiting 2 other dealers which we currently have a relationship with. Tony saw us looking around and offered to assist us; which we quickly took the offer. Our son had an idea on what he wanted but with limited finances we weren't sure we would be able to reach our goal. Tony took our family around on a nice used car which our son enjoyed. Tony partnering with John, ran the numbers but they were a little high for our budget. They went back to the drawing board and worked out an amount closer to our needs. Then I noticed a new car in the floor and asked them to run those numbers for a lease; they quickly ran the numbers and we walked out with a 2014 Passat. We thought he was going to kill us for asking to evaluate another car for us; but he was professional and made it happen. We will be returning to Tony in the future. Very valuable employee. He should be commended on his professionalism and willing to balance the needs of the customer as well as your dealer.

I don't normally write reviews, however this dealership never ceases to amaze me. The customer service is exceptional. Period. Mike listened to my needs and walked me through the car-buying process so I would leave with exactly what I wanted when I left. When there was an issue with the car, I called VW and was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations made when I was in dire need of a vehicle. I'm a teacher and there was no way I was going to let a car issue prevent me from going to work. The manager, Darryl, took the time to listen and tailor a plan that met my needs regarding time and finances. All in all. Darryl, is a model leader. A wonderful place to go...

A wanted to purchase a new car. I dreaded the thoughts of looking as I do not like the fast talking car salesman who are normally very pushy. When I went to Volkswagen of Fort Myers I was pleasantly surprised. I had a great sales agent helping me. Tony was so helpful, patient, a real gentleman, (in a car dealership )?????, It was a great learning experience. The general manager Darryl, was awesome also. I met so many genuinely nice people in that dealership. It was like a family affair. All being helpful & respectful of each other. The finance guy was unbelievable with all his knowledge. He was kind, very patient, and very helpful. What else can I say, if you want a great experience, go to Volkswagon of Fort Myers. By the way, I purchased a 2014 Passat. I am very pleased with my purchase........

A fun experience!!!

I bought my car from VW or Fort Myers just because the way they do business. My sales person is Kelvin Diaz, a young guy that a have a great knowledge about cars, nice personality, honest and very professional. It was very fun for me because I have a great time with my salesman from the beginning. If you want a car I recommend this place to everybody.

By far, this dealership provides the best customer service I've ever had. There is no high pressure sales pitching. The service is very personal; they make you feel like family. Joe W is the best, and he has my complete trust in all things car related. This is the third vehicle I've bought from Joe, and he has a life-long customer in me.

I wish I could give them a 0. I had two Vws before this tiguan I bought from them about one month ago. Both of my cars I bought in Naples and I wish I had node the same this time as well. Well, the finance guy quoted me a payment when he saw my credit score and I agreed with it. It was lunch time, so I went out for lunch... when I came back to close the deal, he told me that he worked his numbers and found me a deal and that my payment was going to be 5 dollars less that what he quoted me and that it was going to be for 6 months less. OMG, I got really excited and happy and closed the deal with him. When I got home, I realized that the amount of money I borrowed did not match my monthly payments with my interest rate, So, I called to complain just to find out that he did not get me a deal: he lied to me and sold me $3000 in products that I did not request. He made it sound that he threw this deal in the basket with the price of the car. He misguided me, lied to me and made me feel like an idiot. I complained to corporate, they refunded me the money, but the loan terms cannot be changed: so I am stuck with a high payment, not only that the finance guy neglects to apologize and keeps saying that he pointed to me that my payment was originally 61 dollars cheaper and I chose to buy those extra products, today, he said I am liar. PLEASE NEVER GO THERE. THEY WILL xxxx YOU! LIE AND SELL YOU PRODUCTS YOU DID NOT WANT TO BUY PRETENDING THEY ARE GIVING IT TO YOU.

I was on vacation in the area during X-mas week 2013, when someone hit my rearview mirror and forced it forward. This dealer told me to come right down and they would look at it. I brought the car in, and after about one hour they had repaired it, washed the car, and vacuumed the floors/washed floor mats, and handed me the keys, and I was on my way.

Today I purchased a new VW Beetle - Convertible R-Line w/Sound & Nav - actually it arrived from NC - last week I walked into the dealership where I have been a customer for a good ten years - thinking I would trade in my 1999 VW Cabrio for a 2014 VW R-Line Candy White with Beige Leather Interior - turns out only two 2014 such cars existed - one was sold - I now have the other :>) Since I have been connected with this dealership for many years for service - it was my choice as I know they are honest and helpful - I asked for Joe Weidenfeller - saleman - I had had a conversation with him previously about old Fairy Tale Books which left an impression on me - to find such a car - and he/the dealership did just that! I would definitely recommend this dealership and all its employees to anyone either to purchase a new or used VW auto or for service of their auto---period :>) Nothing beats the soul of a VW!!!!!!!!!

I originally went to this dealership to lease or buy a new vehicle and was closer to my home. When I presented no one was willing to help. Once we did get a sales help he was rude. We sat down to work the deal and was told there was no possible way to work the deal that was proposed. We left the dealership feeling discouraged. We presented to a dealership to our south.. Naples Florida VW. They were able to make the deal that this dealer was adamant that was impossible. I would advise anyone I know against this dealer.

Great Experience

This was the easiest and most pleasant car purchase I have ever had. My sales person Joseph, really saw to it that I was a happy customer. Everything we discussed to make the deal was carried out quickly and easily, none of the 12 trips to the manager stuff. John in finance made the paper work quick and easy, no surprises. I will return to this dealership when I am ready for another vehicle as well as recommend it to my family and friends.

Mary and I arrived late for our appointment to see a VW Beetle Convertable that we were interested in. Ed Taylor in sales was very accomodating to our demands for infoon the used beetle with only 6,000 miles. The demo ride was very thorough and informative and he was sincerely interested in our specific needs. Price negotiation was very transparent to us and satisfactorily handled with the sales manager's (Jimmy Epolito)help. All in all my wife and I were very pleased with the process right thru to the end with Troy Arch, Finance Manager's information and final delivery of our vehicle. The price was right!

This is the third vehicle we have purchased form VW of Fort Myers. All of the Sales Staff is courteous, helpful, and just all around fantastic. Ed Taylor was our Sales Consultant. He was willing and able to listen to our needs, and the particulars of what we were interested in. After a little bit of dialogue with him he let us know what he felt would best work for us. He discussed inventory at their partner locations as well as what was currently on the lot. We were able to browse a few cars and then take a test drive. No pressure, no threats, no coercion of any kind. My wife and I went and had lunch and were able make our decision on our own. Upon returning they were able take care of the sale, financing, tag, title, everything the same day. We left with a full tank of gas and a car we love. Ed Taylor, John Casco, and the rest of the FM VW Team are great. I strongly recommend them. PS their Service Department is fantastic too.

I could not have hoped for a better experience with better people. I had not bought a car since 2005, and when I did I had $12,000 cash to buy it. This time I only had $1,000 to put down on a car and needed to make payments as low as possible(of course). I contacted several dealerships before going to Volkswagon of Fort Myers. I did have a car to trade in, but it was older and had a ton of miles on it. Every dealership I contacted said, "I would not give you a dollar for that car!)A trusted friend of mine referred me to Volkswagon of Fort Myers, and even though it was an hour away from where I live, I had nothing to lose. As soon as I walked in the door and talked to Joe I immediately felt comfortable. I told Joe and Gary what I could and could not afford, and received honest answers about what they could and could not do for me. Not only could I afford the car, which is a 2009 by the way, but they gave me a considerable amount for my trade in. Not only that, but Troy gave me a more than fair interest rate so I felt comfortable purchasing additional gap insurance which I would not have been able to do otherwise. I give Volkswagon of Fort Myers my highest reccommendation and my thanks.

I had been looking for a specific used vehicle - low miles, 1 yr old, for a few weeks....I was getting to the "frustrated point" when I contacted Ft Myers VW on a vehicle I spotted on their web site. From the initial call I received on my internet inquiry, to the minute I walked out the door (with new keys in hand!), I can say it was the easiest, smoothest, upfront, experience I have had with a dealership. I would definitely recommend the dealership, and specifically Joe Weidenfeller. Joe and I had been speaking via phone for a few days about the car I was interested in. I have a crazy work week, and being able to schedule an appointment was ideal for me. It makes the process less stressful, and after all the searching and visiting other Dealerships in the area - I wanted to avoid that "typical salesman experience" you run into elsewhere. It is obvious Joe likes doing what he does, and coming from someone that knows - that type of outlook with a job can be hard to find! Great Place to Go

I came in looking for a 2012 Jetta GLI Autobahn with or without the navigation package but to my disappointment they didn't have one at the time so I left. After a few weeks of seriously thinking if the Autobahn upgrades meant that much to me I decided I'd gladly get the GLI plus in Florida weather leather seats just get too hot. So I went back to discuss a price. Since they have this whole upfront pricing thing going on they kept saying that they already negotiated for me but that's not what I wanted. If I'm paying cash for a brand new car I expect a deal. So I left again. I called around found a cheaper price told VW of Fort Myers and they gladly agreed to match what I had found and I drove off the lot in my GLI that day. Steve and Casco are awesome, honestly if you can I would try to talk to Steve (not saying anyone else was bad I just really liked Steve) . Make sure you look around about a price because despite how nice they are it is a car dealership and they want as much money as possible, don't forget that. Also don't rush into anything. They had papers laid out infront of me to sign the second time I visited and still I refused which they were fine with. Awesome place to go very friendly.

This was not our first time purchasing a car, but it was the first time I drove off where I didn't feel taken advantage of. The salesman was great. Very pleasant engaging and genuinely interested. The finance team was also very knowledable, HONEST, and informative. The team worked as exactly that. Everyone seemed to have a common goal and that was to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I would and already have recommended this dealership to all my friends, family, co-wokers and even strangers.I can't fail to mention we drove from Miami to test drive our 2007 Chevy Suburban which we found online. My wife and will spend several weeks looking for a vehicle before the purchase. We went to this dealership 3 times. The first time we stopped in and spoke with 2 sales people, one who was the Sales Manager. We spoke a bit and left the dealership. We came back a second time on Veterans day. Once we were able to get a sales person (Dominick), we spoke about a White, 2 door-automatic 2012 Golf. After a prolonged conversation, he stated he would have one ordered and arrive on the lot in 2 days. We had never recieved another message. Three weeks before Christmas, on a Sunday, I went to the dealership to inquire about the car. The Finance Manager and the Sales Manager Steve were present. We began to speak about the "wanted" car. The manager Steve seemed to begin to get irate when we started talking. He mentioned about having a car delivered and that we would have to pay additional cost and a down payment. We stated we would not, and if they wanted to sell a car, then have it on the lot. Steve loudly responded "UH Uh", as if I was some child. Finally, the initial negotiations broke down. After some silence, i stated that "I guess we can't deal". Steve the Manager agreed. I got up to leave, and as I was walking out, he says "HEY...ARMY STRONG!" They knew I was a former Marine and this was his immature way of letting me know who the boss was. We bought our new Golf at VW of Naples!Three weeks after, I get an e-mail from Dominick, thanking me for coming in on Veterans Day. The Sales Manager's attitude lost his dealership a sale. This was probaly a good thing. The receptionist ignores people, the staff are not that friendly, and the Sales Manager "Steve"is arrogant and un-professional. This is a Sonic owned business, and I will be sure to let the Corporate office know of this non-transaction.

I went to Volkswagen of Fort Myers to look at new CC's. The first time I went there I wanted to test drive a 6 speed CC, but the only manual they had was in the showroom. Needless to say I got to look at it for a little bit but walked away without getting to drive it that night. I went back a few days later and was able to drive it that time. They did not have a 6 speed in a color that I liked, but said they would look around the state and have one shipped there. They were very high pressure, saying how I better buy right then or it would be gone. I ended up going to VW of Naples where they had the color that I liked in a 6 speed. Complete change of atmosphere, and I got a better price than the "No Haggle" pricing from this dealership. They also add a $700-800 dealer fee, and it was less than that in Naples. I would not recommend this dealership or their sales team to anybody.

Purchased a 2010 Mazda 3

April 2011-we wanted to replace our vehicle. We found a used car online, and went to the local dealer it was listed with, however we were told it had been sold. So we drove down the street to turn around to go home, and we saw the Volkswagon dealership, and at the last second, decided to pull in. We walked around looking at the used cars, and found a few that seemed promising. We noticed that a salesman was standing just outside the doors or the showroom, and was just watching us from a distance. When we were ready to speak to someone-we headed towards the showroom, and the salesman met us halfway. He introduced himself, and said that he likes to wait to see if customers want assistance before he approaches them. Two thumbs up for him! Every salesman needs to do this, that way customers won't feel like they are being stalked by vultures. Our salesman was fantastic, as well as the manager. Everyone that assisted us with our purchase did a fantastic job! Very, very happy. Really impressed that they gave us a full tank of gas before we left the dealership! We shared our wonderful experience with LOTS of people! If we had stayed in the area, we would have purchased all of our vehicles from them. Hoping we can find a dealer here in NC that can match the quality of service and vehicles.

It was not even cleaned up. I was told the sales "team" would be given my trade information and be waiting to make this deal happen. They did not. Hard to sell a car like this guys.

Gotta say my experience was much different than the other review here. Worked with Joe and Lou and the were both Friendly and easy to work with. They guaranteed me the best price and I called the other VW dealers in the area. It was the best deal! I was nervous at first because I was afraid I was gonna get taken for a ride. I couldn't have been more wrong. The let me know how important my business was to them and they made me feel very comfortable with my decision.Thanks Guys, you made a scary experience into a pleasant one!

We bought a used Passat from them in June 2008. They told us the car was owned by an elder man who had originally bought it from them new. They told us he had done all the maintenance there at there dealership and we could get copies. I bought a one way ticket to fly to Fort Myers to buy the car. When I asked for the maintenance records they only furnished those for 2008 and said that the service manager wasn't there to provide the rest. He assured me that they knew all the history of the car because the single owner did all the service there. Later after purchasing the car I ran the VIN on a friend's carfax account. Turns out the car had been bought in Maryland. The car has been owned twice and the elderly man in Florida only bought it in January and drove it 400 miles. The car seats turned out not to be leather as they said. In addition, they added extra fees to the price despite reassurances that all fees had already been added to the price they quoted me. Really put me on the spot to buy the car or buy an expensive ticket home with nothing to show for my money. Beware of these salesmen who will say anything to sell a car.
