I recommend Vara Dealership to all my friends. The service department is great as well as the sales personnel. My sales man, Mr Alfred Mora did not forget my past birthday in July. Even after having my truck for over a year. I do not know of a dealership that has this kind of people. I wish I could afford to buy another vehicle from Mr Mora.

Had been considering a new 2016 Colorado truck since last year. Decided to move to Chevy after 7 Ford pick ups. After inquiring about a specific color, series, etc..., Alina from internet sales contacted me almost immediately with the news that Vara Chevrolet had a truck that matched my specifications. I then started working with Carlos, in sales. They made this buying experience absolutely perfect. Carlos and Alina worked diligently to ensure the timely installation of after market options, I.e. step boards, bed liner, tow package, and kept me apprised throughout the process. David, in finance, was informative, professional, and quick in taking care of the necessary paperwork. This experience was super! No hassle, pressure, or gimmicks. I pretty much had my mind made up on what type of vehicle I was buying. Mr. Alfred Mora introduced himself, I told him what I wanted, he didn't try in no kind of way to change my mind (which was awesome because being a woman, some dealerships person will tell you what they think). After a month my truck still is not fixed.....

I was told my truck was ready to pick up after a month. I show up and the airbags and seat belt still don't work... Over an hour and I'm still waiting

Scheduled oil change & left with a new truck.

Bad Service and poor communication

Just bought a 2015 Chevy truck and didn't come with matts , also sales man lost extra key and I'm being blame ..nothing was done but being insulted by calling me lier by David Vara Owner and mangment so disrespected .. I wish I would gone some were else ...

My sister Margie took her 2012 Chevrolet Cruze to be serviced for oil change/filter. The Service Dept. did an excellent job taking down info and getting the job done right. All the employees were respectful and courteous to her. I even heard the Owner & President of the Company, Mr. Domingo Vara Jr. came out to greet her and was very nice. He listened to her complimenting his courteous Staff of employees and even took time to walk with her and tell the Service Dept. they had one happy & satisfied customer. Making an appt. information

I was impressed with the time it took to service my truck with an appt. I was not pleased with the information given to me when I made the appt though, she told me it was covered when it wasn't and I had to pay for the cabin air filter change. Please educate the girls making the appts how important that is to U.S. consumers because if I didn't have the money, it would have been a waste of my time. Bathrooms were dirty..

GREAT Service and Attention.

I was very pleased with the way I and my father were treated by both Mr. Kong and Mr. Mora. My only complaint was that I was told I'd be getting the GAP for my new car but when we got to the financing, the gentleman did not offer GAP to me. I truly wish I could have the GAP I was told I'd get.But otherwise, on the whole, I am extremely happy with my new car.

Was scheduled for a recall on the ignition switch and 1st appointment fell thru so was scheduled another appt went and had to reschedule BC they didn't have the part recall must not be to important does anybody know a Chevy dealer on south side please help

The owner was very rude

I went to get a recall fixed, they had told me that once it was done the key wouldn't get locked in the ignition. AFTER the service was performed they told me that the key would continue to get stuck and they could do nothing about it. When going to pick up the car, i asked to speak to the owner, they first said "he wasn't available " soo after, he comes out. When asking him what could we do, and tried to tell him the situation, that he wouldn't listen to and kept talking over, he then said "well maybe you should pay more money to get a better car." It is their "craftsmanship" that came to this recall. He pretty much said their cars are not good enough.

Service was TERRIBLE

Made an appointment online for my FREE oil change on Saturday 8-30-2014 for 8 am. It took 3 hours for an oil change. When we arrived friendly staff came up to our vehicle and said sorry about the wait we will be with you shortly. Second person came by and asked are you here for your oil change, we said yes and we told her we made an appointment online. She then tells us that to do not make appointment online for Saturdays? (Well I did and have made 2 other appointments online since then). Young lady then say oil change should take about 1 1/2 hour. We decided to wait, we moved up in line when finally the service manager asked what we were there for, we told him an oil change and that we scheduled an 8 am appointment. He said that Saturdays are first come first serve and that I should not have been able to do so. (well once again I did and have schedule 2 fake appointment for this Saturday 9-6 online). After two hours of waiting for my FREE oil change, I asked to speak with the service manager Jose Rodriguez, he was very apologetic and said that Saturdays are on a 1st come 1st served. But I MADE AN APPOINTMENT. He then says he would pull a service guy and start working on my car. Waited another hour before it was complete. Jose was very apologetic and kept making excuses and recommendations for next time, Never did I feel that my being and wasting 3 hours of our day was important to them. Still upset with service received and that morning I kept seeing David Vara there, I should have complained to him. PLEASE FORWARD HIM THIS MESSAGE. This was my second visit. J LopezSan Antonio

Well first the greeting from the salesman was great and the service was outstanding. The salesman Carlos Jimenez did a fantastic job explaining everything in detail from the contract and towards how the vehicle works. I have been a chevrolet owner since I was 18 years old, Long lasting trucks. I still own a 1994 Chevrolet 4*4 nearly 300 Thousand Miles and still running strong best motors GMC has ever made. Great service, friendly staff and well kept ground

I purchased my 2014 Silverado in July, 2013 and was very happy with it, until I noticed the noise coming from the engine compartment, a knocking noise. I brought this to the attention of your service department and I spoke with one of your service department managers, "He said that unless a light on my instrument panel came on, it was nothing and not to worry about it". Well I am worried about it because what I foresee happening is that everything will run fine until after my 3 year/36,000 mile warranty expires and it won't be something minor, it will probably be something major that will be costly, so I am hoping that something can and will be done about this before its to late.I believe that Chevrolet makes a fine vehicle and I believe that whatever engine problem that my Silverado may be experiencing is a one in a million, a fluke if I may. I also happen to own a 2002 Avalanche that I purchased new in 2002 and is still on the road today, passed it onto my teenage son, and has never given me any major problems and in the near future my spouse will be purchasing a Chevy Camaro because we believe in the fine vehicles made by Chevrolet and we are a Chevy Family.I find myself rating your staff and services as excellent because my vehicle problems have nothing to do with them.Concerned Chevy owner ...

Service was horrible. My advisor ernest reyna never called me back after several voice mails.he huung up in my face multipke times.i was not satisfied at all. My car was there for almost 3wks. I wouldnt reccomend them to anyone

Clean area, friendly people, but......

The workmanship was very good, the people were very polite and friendly. Maybe I'm spoiled but the last few times I had my oil changed was at dealerships that have a separate "fast lane" for tire changes, oil changes, lube jobs etc. I was at your dealership for almost three hours. Maybe my fault because I didn't make an appointment.

Great Service, knowledgeable staff

Everyone I talked to was nice, a couple of people greeted me just passing by. John, my salesperson, helped me get the Equinox we wanted. I like the print out of the car payments and various down payments he showed me to give me good idea what my payments should be. The finance officer, Criss, his office was hot. I don't know if that is a "sales technique" to get you out the door faster but my wife and daughter were not comfortable. I enjoyed going around and meeting different people at several departments there at Vara, everyone was nice and professional. Overall I enjoyed buying from VARA and would buy again.

Superb Service

We had a superb experience at Vara Chevrolet this past Friday. We were only there to get an oil change and ended up driving out a new truck. Our sales person Carlos Jimenez was great. Our business manager David Garcia was also great and he was able to get us the best APA we have ever had and for just $50 more a month we have a lot more coverage. We had a great experience last year when we bought our other truck but this experience was even better. It was pretty much stress free. I bought some dress shirts from the store in your dealership that have the VARA Chevrolet emblem and wear them with pride. I am proud to advertise for your dealership.

It was good Carlos did his best to help us out with what we needed and we both met half way, it was nice to see them try so hard to get us were we needed all the way to the end. Only bad thing I didn't see was that my dashboard was cracked when I bought it sad face, but service was good.

Excellent Repair Service and Facility.

Our car would not start and John Rodriguez the Service Manager personally went to where we were. Jon got the car started and we went directly to the dealership. Everyone from the service coordinator that worked with us to the Service Manager keep us informed at all times what the status of the repair was. Special thanks to the service coordinator, unfortunately I did not get his business card but they proved that our decision to keep our business on the South Side was the best decision we could have made.

Although it was a poor start, once Ernest and Sandy found out what the problem was on not only the recall which is what I was there for, they also found a problem with the timing chain that was still under waranttee. Then things sped up and the treatment & care were excellent. Both Sandy and Ernest made sure everything was taken care of as quickly and as professionally as possible.

Pleasant experience

The experience was good. The caps to my tires were missing so I had to go back to get them but Jose from service sincerely apologized and showed he cared.

Sent an email to the address in the website and received no response. With the short response time posted this made it impossible to purchase any of the vehicles I was interested in.

A few minutes later she replied back and was always fast at replying back and answering my questions. Great customer service I recently bought a new car from Vara and they took great care of me. I did alittle research online and found the car I wanted at Vara. After a quick call I came in for a test drive they had the car right out front waiting for me the whole process was very smooth and I was enjoying my new car in no time.

I have had many good experiences with Vara in the past but the best may have been when I recently upgraded to a new Silverado. Not only was I treated with the great customer service that they always seem to give me but I got a monthly payment below what I was looking for so now Il have about and extra 100 dollars a month to put towards other stuff.

They worked with me to find a car that I could afford that would be reliable and get better gas mileage then my old car. After working with Manny and some of the staff going over my options I settled on a 2010 Malibu it the perfect car at the perfect price. The paper work was done quickly and I was on the road in no time.

I recently bought a 2012 Traverse and the experience was the best I ever had. They treat you right at Vara I had few experiences with the service department a year or so ago with my old work truck so when I was looking for more of a family car I knew that they treated people right.
