Our X5 was overheating while traveling from MD to NY on I-95. A google search for nearby BMW service centers led us to Union Park in Wilmington, DE. We've never been in the area and knew nothing of the business. We left the car in a mostly deserted parking lot on a Sunday afternoon hoping it would be found safely the next day. Monday morning, George Shaer called and made all our fears go away. He was excellent. George and I spoke a number of times throughout the next couple of days. He was prompt, thorough, researched my car's history, performed other routine maintenance it was scheduled to receive and was so professional. I can't say enough about the excellent assistance provided by George. I told him, since we aren't from the area, we would most likely not be repeat customers, his response was that he tries to take great care of all his customers. That he did!

Don't let them tell you all you need is a 545 credit score for a ballon loan I was in the mid 600s and got denied for it There is thousands of mark up on almost every car6 days of going back and forthFinally went in to purchase Everything changed yet again Ran my report AGAIN that day I did not authorize Sales manager showed no concern of me walking out Showed no remorse to me for the horrible sales woman's actions Horrible Not planning on using BMW dealers anymore No questions Just better off using cars.com And finding a good deal Also lied about interest rates to keep you contiplating, they strung you along slowly getting you to agree with everything little by little And like I said It constantly changes If you go in and just buy the car for there price , yes that will be easy But don't you want to feel like you got a good deal

She helped us out a great deal! More people should be like her!! It is because of her I am the proud owner of a beautiful car! Thank you Tabatha!

I dealt with George Shaer and had a wonderful experience! Brought my low mileage 2006 convertible with a check engine light on and a front end issue. He correctly diagnosed the issue as a faulty thermostat and a need for two front end bushings. My car has not driven this well in two years! It has a new lease on life and is sporty to drive. It was George who diaginosed the issues and I am so glad it was he who took charge of my drop off. BMW had all the parts I needed . In at 7AM out at 3:30 with a much appreciated car wash! Couldn't be happier!

I have come to completely understand why so many owners refer to this dealership, specifically the service department as "Use-less Park BMW" They blatantly lied to me on a more than one occasion. I guess the think just because Autozone can not read their codes that they can just tell you anything and make up phoney problems to pad your bill... I tested this on 2 occasion when I got a check engine light... Took it to someone, let's call him "HonestBMWGuy" that had the updated tools to read BMW codes which tells how many times and the mileage at which the code occurred, etc. They read ONE code. I then took it to Useless-Park and low and behold, they read 4 codes... Took it back to the "HonestBMWGuy" and still only ONE code... Did not erase the code and took it back to Useless-Park 2 weeks later again and somehow 3 different codes including the ONE code read by "HonestBMWGuy"... Decided to take it to another BMW dealership in the next state and guess what, they read only ONE code.... Took it back to Useless Park and 2 more codes cropped up... What a bunch of crooks... They got over $1k out of me on that first visit before I had enough "evidence" to satisfy myself what they are all about... Since then, I have heard nothing but the same sorts of stories from other local BMW owners about this dealership services...

Purchased a new 5 and 3 in the past from Ottos in PA with great sale and service history. I live in wilmington and have tried to use Union Park. As others have mentioned it is hard to reach them for service appointments and the sales people are not current on offers etc. bought a used x5 and decided to try againHad a problem with cold starts dropped it off and was told they would call in a day. Finally I called after two days leaving messages. Fours days finally spoke to someone since my guy Dave was off. Could not replicate the issue. Would start outside in the cold but would start in the warm shop. Ah Duh! Picked it up after a week since they could not relocate the problem still charge me the $139 diagnostic fee to not find the problem. Came out to find my back seat removed and had to wait for them to put it back in. Told them of my displeasure and here is the part that upset me. George Shear service writer was incredible lay rude to my wife. I highly recommend all to steer clear from this business no energy left for the gory details but if someone in charge wants to know please look me up. Andrew Smith X5 service last monthTook it to Ottos. Service writer actually gave me a probable diagnosis on the phone and repaired it that day in 2,5 hours. Crankcase sensor. I didn't buy from either place and there is the difference. Never again Union Park

I was looking into purchasing a used or new BMW. In particular, I asked about a 2014 328i. When I walked in - no one greeted me. I received poor service from Greg - he was not interested in answering my questions about the car (he did not know some of the information) or, in general, was not interested in what I was looking for. He was awkward, very quiet, and he acted as if he was wasting his time with me. I have only driven Audis and decided to look at BMWs for a change. Needless to say, I left disappointed with the awkward customer service I received and told multiple people about the experience. I drove down the street to the Audi dealership and purchased a 2016 Audi instead and had exceptional customer service as soon as I walked in the door.

From the moment we arrived on the dealer's lot, we were the focus of attention and provided a range of optional choices, dependent on our reaction to various new car offerings that were provided. The sales staff provided us honest feedback on our questions, which we greatly appreciated and ultimately sped our purchase decision. The paperwork process was timely and efficient, making it easy for us to be on our way, once the paperwork was finished. We had a trade-in, which was quickly analyzed and and gave us confidence we knew what we had going into our new car purchase decision. This is our seventh purchase from Union Park, and it further reinforced our opinion that they will have our business well into the future.

The cars sell themselves, and there was no pushy sales talk and didn't feel pressured to make a purchase. I have owned and loved BMW's for over 25 years...but given my experience with this dealership that may change. I did not purchase my X5M car there - but I have unfortunately had to service it there. Lets start with making an appointment. It usually takes at least 4 calls to the service department - I have never called and EVER gotten a live person on the phone. Instead you play this insane telephone tag game trying to get one. Then when I do take my car in they act like Im sone kinda xxxx because I didnt buy it or my warranty there. Im due for a new car and I gotta tell you, for the first time in 25 years Im going to look hard at other makes. Makes me sad to say that....I grew up with M cars and couldnt wait to get my own. Union Park has ruined what was my long term love of BMW's. Smeone at BMW NA needs to wake up and teach this dealer what customer service is.

Had another great experience at Union Park BMW. This last visit was June 9th, and Tony Saienni took care of us. The customer service is top notch. Whether I've gone in for service, the auto spa, or collision repair, they are always kind and courteous. I've never had a long wait. They take excellent care of the car and give it a wash. They always explain things and have been very thorough. Good customer service is hard to come by, but I've consistently gotten great customer service at Union Park BMW.

Condescending Assistant Service Manager - George

First let me start off by stating that I own a 2007 525xi with over 264k miles. I am not new to BMW service and the car has only been maintained by BMW. I went to this BMW location because I needed to add coolant to the car and was told by two separate locations that I can easily stop at any location and get the coolant capped off - no problem. Well, this is my 2nd visit to this location and I will NEVER return. The Assistant Service Manager - G. Shaer is very condescending and appears to exhibit behavior that it is a privilege to be in his presence. I stopped by at 7 a.m. and he recommended that I go to an auto shop to purchase coolant (well you cannot do that since they don't sell BMW supplies), the Parts department did not open up until 8 a.m. so he recommended that I have a seat, purchase coolant from the Parts department at which point they would have no issue topping it off. This guy has a negative demeanor about him, even checked my car and indicated to me that I needed maintenance (of which I am very aware of and have an appointment scheduled to do so somewhere else in Delaware). Bottom line, I read negative reviews about this place before my visit but had to experience it myself. Please note with over 264K miles that I have frequented many shops in Flemington, Union, Morristown and Main Line in PA and all have been pleasurable experiences. Interesting enough (while I waited) I placed a call to the Main Line location and the lovely receptionist Linda, told me to come right in. Upon my arrival, they capped the coolant (without requiring that I purchase it from the Parts department) and within 20 minutes I was on my way to work. Bottom line - I made my service appointment an hour away from my home and refuse to service my car at this location even if it breaks down in the area. The irony of my experience is that its a BMW dealer and I know through regular maintenance of my car by several other locations that the service here is reprehensible. I would suggest that management connect with the Flemington BMW service department in New Jersey as they are phenomenal and can probably transfer some of their knowledge and how to treat a customer!

Bought a new BMW x5 last year and it was in the shop for one month of the 13 months that I owned it. Jim Calihan was my sales associate and he was completely unhelpful with my problems. Car was in for service at least 4 times and 2 times was kept for a week at a time. Was promised a BMW loaner but would have to wait 2 weeks for a BMW even though my salesperson promised me a BMW loaner whenever I needed one.. Service manager was useless and service associates were patronizing and implied that I didn't know what I was talking about with problems or what I was experiencing. Final straw was dealership offering to buy vehicle from me after 13 months of problems for $10,000 less than what I sold it for. Out of all the vehicles that I have owned(Ford, Subaru, Toyota, Jeeps, Acuras and now a Porsche Cayenne), this was the worst dealership that I have ever dealt with. Avoid this dealership at all costs.

I brought my 2006 BMW to Union Park to repair an oil leak. Union Park BMW service checked the problem and recommended the repair that was done in September. The $1,000 repair was done per the diagnosis, which would lead one to believe the problem was solved. When my oil light came on again in six months, I had it checked and was stunned to be told that the problem I thought Union Park had fixed in September was still a problem today. I returned to the Union Park BMW service department and spoke to Anthony Dorazio. His response was "oil leaks happen". I did not agree, especially after so recently paying Union Park BMW to fix the problem. I reached out to the Service Manager Christine O' Connor with questions about the thoroughness of the diagnosis and September repair. I also asked about using a dye to find out why the car continued to leak oil and Ms. O'Connor said very clearly that "there is no need to because we can see the sources of an oil leak". Over the next two weeks I returned my car twice to Union Park BMW and had to find my own alternative transportation each time because I was beyond the courtesy shuttle limits and was told there were no loaner cars available. Union Park service ended up using a dye as I recommended and Pete Rotteveel offered service that would cost an additional $1,600. I refused. This type of oil leak is not something that would have just come up in the last six months, nor is it a problem that should have to be repaired every six months. Their work is sloppy and they did not perform a thorough inspection and diagnosis back in September. I am very disappointed in the lack of quality service. I bought my BMW new from Union Park and had been a customer for many years for service on my other BMW cars. I had also recommended other people who purchased new BMW cars on my high recommendation. Union Park BMW did not value me as a customer and I no longer value Union Park BMW.

In 8/2012 I recently purchased a BMW 325i from Union Park with a extended warranty. It is now 11/2012 my car failed. I only had this vehicle for 3 months now and I had a list of problems that occurred. I was driving from PA back to DE one Saturday evening and my windshield wipes started going without me even touching the handle, my dashboard blacked out which means my hazard lights wasn't working,my turn signals wasn't working and my heat wasn't working.I was scared because I heard a clicking noise while I was driving on the highway and I couldn't see anything and nothing was working at that time.I made it to a safe location in DE parked the car and turned it off I then noticed my back window was down and I never put the window down.At that time the car was off but the headlights was still on and the windshield wipers was still going I tried to turn them off but it was unsuccessful.I immediately called Honda Care (extended warranty contract)company and they called the towing company. I tried to turn the car back on and at that time it wouldn't start the car had completely died. The tow truck driver tried to jump the car but that was unsuccessful. My car was towed to the Union Park location and I was called on Monday morning about my car. I explained everything to the technician and they said that they couldn't run any test on my car because my battery was dead. Its hard to believe that a dealership that specializes in BMW's wouldn't have a battery available for testing. I had to purchase a battery that was almost $400 just to have a diagnostic test performed on my car. After the test was performed the technician told me that my electronic junction module was defective and it caused my battery to die.I talked to the service manager (female) the day I picked up my car and she said that the batteries in BMW only last 4 years.I can't understand this because the car is a 2006 and it was purchased in 2012 which means that this would be 6 years with the same battery at the time of sale and why wasn't this battery replaced when I brought the car.I talked to Matt (salesman) because I didn't think it was fair for me to pay for something that should have been checked and replaced and I am dealing with this problem 3 months after my purchase. It seems like after the 2 months warranty that comes with the car runs out you screwed with problems.I have had nothing but a headache with BMW's and most importantly Union Park and I will never recommend anyone here.I ended up paying $578 that I DIDN'T HAVE but I needed my car.If it wasn't for my extended warranty I would be stuck paying over $1100 for parts, labor, battery and deductible. The only good service I received was from the tow driver he was excellent!! He is NOT affiliated with Union Park.I am a extremely upset customer and this is not how a business should be ran.

I have many friends who will no longer go to this dealer for service despite there not being another BMW dealer in the area. They have proven to not be trustworthy or reliable. I have had 3 issues with them. The most recent happened yesterday. I had a leak in the tire and brought it in for them to fix. They told me the tire should not be fixed and since the tread was low that tire and the other rear tire needed to be replaced. The cost would be almost $700 for both tires.I took it to two other tire places. Both agreed the tread on both tires were fine and that only a patch should be done at this time.

1/16/2012 I have updated my rating after Mr. James P. Ursomarso (Vice President and General Sales Manager) responded to my concerns and fixed my vehicle as promised. I didn't have any issue with my car. Battery was replaced under (warranty) and a part replaced. I am now a satisfied customer! Last review; The car won't start. I called AAA to jump start and took it to dealer a night before appointment to have them start work in the morning. They kept my car for 2 days and keep on providing me with conflicting information. Initially they told me that they need to replace the battery and need to keep the car for an extra day. After making several calls, service manager informed me that the car will be ready in the evening. Then another service person called and told me that they need to keep the car for an extra day but then agreed to put an extra technician to get it ready. When I went to pick up the vehicle, IT WON'T START!!! VERY RUDE service advisor advised to me to have it jump start or leave the vehicle.Problem is still not resolved because now they want some other part to be replaced!!!

Our BMW broke down on our trip from New York to Florida. This dealer was the closest one for repairs. We did not get towed there until 3 PM but they looked at the car immediately, helped us with our luggage, made arrangements for a rental, recommended a hotel and ordered the parts for overnite delivery. By 10:30 AM the next day, they had replaced the alternator and battery and got us on our way. They helped reload the auto and assisted with directions. We could not ask for better service and professionalism. They were very friendly and helpful. If you had to break down, these people were the ones to help you.

This dealership is simply a nightmare. Not only it is customer-unfriendly, but it does very poor quality work. The front lights on my car had to be replaced multiple times for unknown reasons. One time I took my car for one of these lights to be replaced and after I get into my car, the screen was still saying that there is something wrong with it so I had to take it back again!!Getting a loaner is a process by itself and you have to beg for it and wait for 6-8 weeks to be available. They messed my front light just because they did not put back everything as it is supposed to and then they came back and blamed it on me!!! and refused to cover it under warranty..I warn any customer about this car shop. Be prepared to be treated badly and getting your car in a worse shape compared to when you started. Oh and the manager.. She is a piece of work. You will find out when you get to deal with her!!!

Andy is AWESOME! I purchased my third BMW in September. Soon after I bought it, I noticed an annoying rattle that I was unable to fix. When I took my car in recently for my first serivce, I let the service department know about the noise. When I arrived to pick up my car, they told me they were unable hear the noise I described. The service person told me that five different people drove my car and did not hear the noise either. So I got in my car and left. As soon as I pulled out of the dealership, I heard the noise. I immediately returned to the dealership. I took a ride with the service manager and she in fact hear the same noise. She asked Andy to drive my car and see if her could locate the noise. Andy was very nice. He spoke to me and asked if I would give him a little time to look at the problem and after about 30 minutes, he located the noise and fixed it. Andy went the extra mile to locate and fix the noise. Not to mention the fact that I was the last person in the service department on Friday evening. He made every effort to make sure I was happy and did not have to return to the dealership to have it fixed at a later date. Service and people like Andy are the reason I have purchased three BMW's. Great job Andy and thank you!!

I needed several items to be repaired, so they needed to keep the car a few days, including a complex repair to replace and re-program my TCU to make my iPhone connect to my BMW 328 Bluetooth.Anthony was friendly and easy to deal with, he did a very conscientious job of documenting, in detail, the items that needed repair, proactively kept me informed of progress 2x per day, and followed-up to make sure all items were addressed. Andy showed enthusiasm and met with me personally when services were done to explain the work that had been completed and make sure everything was right. He even came out to the front parking lot and installed my new Delaware license plate when he learned I had just picked up my new tag. What great a duo to deliver awesome customer service! However, George called me within hours of dropping it off to say that Andy fixed the problem. I took my 2009 5-series in for routine maintenance - i.e., essentially an oil change. I also mentioned that I was having a problem with the left rear tire losing air pressure. (I had also purchased the tire/wheel warranty with the car from this dealer.)The car was returned in a reasonable time and I went on my way. The car then sat in my garage for a couple of weeks due to my travel schedule. When I attempted to drive it again, the left rear tire was nearly flat and I was getting a "low engine coolant" warning message. To be clear, the car was JUST serviced.I called the dealer and told them of my problems and I was asked to bring the car in again, however they had "no availability for ten days or so." I asked whether I should be concerned about the "low coolant" warning message and was told "no, it's not a big deal, those messages leave a lot of room for error." I told them that I wasn't comfortable with that unless they would assume responsibility for any damage that occurred during the interim period. Much to my surprise, a service opening was found for the next day. When I returned to the dealership I was told that the tire did indeed have a nail in it, but that it would be several hours before they could get me a new tire. When I asked how the nail and the coolant issue where missed the last time that I brought the car in, I was told that "in their opinion, I picked the nail up AFTER I left the dealership, and the coolant level was overlooked because they serviced the car while the engine was still hot."Perhaps it's me, but what are the odds that a tire that leaked air prior to bringing it in for service and continued to leak air afterward picked up a nail AFTER the mechanic looked at it? Also, if they know that you get "false" coolant level readings when servicing a hot engine, wouldn't you take that into account when servicing the car? My guess is that the mechanic simply had a bad day and decided to do half the required work and certify that he did it all. When I pointed this out to the service "manager", her response was "I stand behind my technicians." (I also sent an email to the GM of the dealership, and 11 months later, I'm still waiting for a response.)Overall, this was a very poor service experience, and despite having bought the car from this dealer, I now service it elsewhere. I'm also about to purchase another 5-series and haven't even bothered to call this dealer. There's simply no excuse for poor service when someone spends $70k on a car at your dealership.

We were told not to go to Union but we did it anyway when we got a better deal on our 2009 328xi. We ordered it custom from Germany and nearly paid $70,000 for it. We have been plagued with issues from the start. Every single headlight, taillight have had to be replaced the paint chips off at the drop of a hat. And when we got the first head light fixed we took the car to dc on a trip and the power steering exploded while we were trying to parallel park. The Arlington dealership told us that it was because everything had not been put back together properly. We had to pay out of pocket for the expenses including a rental car. We asked to be reimbursed and Christine the worst BMW rep ever curtly dismissed us. We have had issue upon issue and our questions as to why have never been answered. My family has been buying bmws since the 1960s and we have never had this many problems and this horrible of service. I believe that management needs a major overhaul especially with the parts and service manager Christine. We have now contacted BMW north America to investigate and have asked for a vehicle replacement.

visited Union Park twice before buying there. first visit wasn't auspicious: salesman greeted me with "welcome to your new car" and did an ineffectual job at communicating the strong points of a BWM to someone whose 1st car was a honda civic. however, on advice of a friend got hooked up with a different sales guy, Norm, who educated me and communicated the joy of driving a beamer. he offered lots of practical advice (rev it high, drive it hard) and helped with the admin of transferring tags, getting the title, setting up bluetooth, etc -- without the hard sell. he also kept me up-to-date on the car's progress as it was being built and shipped from germany, and when it arrived (completely to my specs; no mistakes there), he made an extra effort to have it prepped for me for the july 4th weekend. when i picked it up, Union Park had the financial stuff already taken care of so all i had to do was sign some papers -- very efficient. would recommend Union Park and highly recommend Norm.

We live in PA, but buy our family cars at Union Park in Delaware. Why travel so far? No, we still pay our Pennsylvania sales tax. We have learned that the extra miles to Union Park are a small price to pay in exchange for Union Parks knowledgeable, friendly, trustworthy, expert sales and service. Recently, we purchased one of their gorgeous BMWs, and had yet another thoroughly enjoyable experience at Union Park in Wilmington. Over the years, we have bought low range used cars, mid range models, and high end luxury automobiles from Union Park. Regardless of the transaction dollar value, we have consistently received the same level of excellent service when dealing with Union Park. The experienced sales and service staffs are friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and focused on customer satisfaction. Over the years, even on the busiest days, their sales associates find time to listen to customers requests in order to gain a clear understanding of their specific automotive needs. The well trained sales staff is quite familiar with the operation and optional features of each vehicle, so their demonstrations and tutorials make it easy for customers to grasp otherwise complex information related to the each vehicle of interest. Union Park managers and sales associates are focused on matching the perfect vehicle to each customer. On two occasions, we were actually directed to less expensive automobiles that might better suit our needs. There are several automobile manufacturers represented in their adjoining showrooms, its easy to one stop shop. Sales people dont hover or use hard sell tactics. Instead, customers questions are answered in a clear and straightforward manner. There is no pressure. Instead, there is just friendly, helpful service, and lots of accurate information to be had.Demonstration drives are pleasant and not rushed. The sales people know their products so well, that after their demonstration ride, tutorial, and review of the specific features of the vehicle, we have always felt confident driving away in a new and different car. I suspect that the sales force knows how awkward driving a new car for the first time can be. They have always gone out of their way to ensure that we are comfortable at the wheel. When the sale is made, the papers are signed, and funds have been exchanged, Union Parks commitment to quality continues. We have always been extremely pleased with the service department (and Auto Spa) at Union Park. They show their customers the same courtesy and do what they say they are going to do, correctly, and on time. In our experience over many years, Union Parks commitment to the highest level of quality service has never diminished. Thanks, Union Park!

I am adjusting a review I wrote yesterday....I am the person whose car was at Union Park BMW for 45 days, and they missed the deadline for me to have the car returned. Much as I was disconcerted about another delay and myriad excuses, when they called a day later to say they were sending over a van to get me, I figured one more day past 45 shouldn't make a big difference. The car was finally ready at noon, one day late. It was worth the wait. Butch had the damaged electronic cluster in a box, and the car, newly painted from the rear ending on the Tappan Zee Bridge, had perfect spaces between the truck, bumper, fender and license plate. They had cleaned it so well it looked brand new for a 12 year old convertible. There was not a scratch to be seen on the entire car, and they spot-painted an area my keys had scratched by years of opening the drivers door. The new rear window, which I paid for, (alabeit twice the price quoted by my former mechanic) circumvented a safety hazard of the old clouded plastic window, and the fit was perfect. They also went the extra mile to glue other items on the convertible top, and my car looked fabulous. We can change the "quality of work" rating to a 5 on my former abysmal evaluation. My BMW was rear ended on the Tappen Zee Bridge in August, and Geico had me take it to Union Park after assessing the damage in Newark. I delivered my car to Union Park on Sept 23, and 45 days later, it is still not done. This is, despite numerous, NUMEROUS calls to keep them on track and to remind them I needed my car by November 6, period! I was lied to about when the parts arrived, when the parts were installed and other reasons having to do with their non-cooperative attitude toward Geico. One new part which I paid for out of my pocket, not related to the rear-ending, came with a pricetag that was double what my mechanic had quoted a few months earlier. Forty five days to fix a car? They should not be in the repair business. I wanted to compromise on one part, allowing a rebuilt part, and they refused to cooperate. I will never, never, go back to them again. I greatly regret I did not select Ott's BMW for this repair work. Sign me Dr. I Talley in Wilmington, Delaware

Service here is a joke. Takes 4-5 times to get simple things fixed. Even if you walk in with service bulletins they give you a blank stare and then blow you off. I hate to sell my BMW but what is the point if I have to drive 45 minutes just to get service. They also have never returned my car clean and just pull it around and walk by you like you are invisible. They are a great example of a lazy, union-type dealer with 5 people doing the job of 2. Huge disappointment. I love BMW's but will sell it and buy a Lexus next.
