Absolutely the best!

We originally went to look at a 2012 Rav4 but it was already out or a test drive and would be purchased when the driver returned. We took that time to get acquainted with the facility and the sales person we were directed to. Lee Gragg was kind and very patient as he suggested we drive a 2015 Rav4 they had in stock. He and management were extremely patient as we went back and forth finding the right price for our trade and the Rav4 we drove. In the end we purchased that vehicle and were so impressed that when we were ready we went back and purchased a 2016 Tacoma. Hats off to all the staff there and especially Lee!

Poor Service Department

Never written a review on a business before, never felt it necessary, but I do this time. The latch on the tailgate of my SUV broke and I could not open it for months nor pay to have it fixed immediately. Insead, I used the tailgate window to load my groceries and such. I had researched fixing the latch myself and found many videos on how to do it, but they all said how tricky it was to do because you have to take the inside back panel off and work around the window motor and its components. So, my husband and I saved up and spent the several hundred dollars to have it done "right" by the dealer. After waiting almost 2 hours at the dealership with my kids to get it fixed, I was excited to finally be able to open the back hatch to load all my groceries and such. It wasn't till over a week later that I went to a feed store where they load the stuff in the back for you that I rolled down the back window to let them put the chicken feed in that I realized the window did not roll up correctly anymore. I thought, "Great. They didn't put the window back in the track correctly. Now I'll have to spend another three hours with my kids and get them to put it back in the track. Ugh." (Nobody looks forward to doing that when we all have busy lives as it is) So, it was almost another week before I could get around to calling them and telling them they messed up my window. I made an appointment for the following week. Almost 2 hours later the customer service guy told me "It's fixed for now. It's working for now." I questioned what he meant by this and he said that's what the tech told him and he didn't know anything else. So I left - rolled down my window half way and rolled it up - it worked. Four days later I went to the feed store again and the window didn't work right again. I tried calling the dealership to speak to the Service Manager, but it was Saturday and they said he was off. I called back Monday morning and spoke to Melvin Schaeffer, the service manager. He said he would look into it and call me right back. He did not call me back that day nor the next. I called Wednesday and had to leave a message. Several hours later he called to tell me that a plastic piece was broken off that held the window in place and the whole regulator would have to be replaced. He said he didn't believe it was their fault and would not fix it for me. He would "help me out" on the price for the parts and labor but they would not cover it. When I protested, he said I waited too long after they replaced the latch and how was he to know that the part didn't just break off on it's own? Besides, the tech assures him he didn't break it when he was working on the tailgate. Oh well, there you go. The tech said he didn't do it. That proves it right there. Also, the window worked before I had the tailgate area that houses the window components worked on by Kingsport Toyota, but did not after I got it back from them. It's also fascinating to me that a man who GETS PAID to take care of customers, who's JOB it is to return phone calls to customers, couldn't take 5 minutes to call me back for two days. He waited until I had to call him again and leave a message. This man tells me I waited too long to make the call that would make me rearrange my schedule and make me take another 3 hours out of my hectic schedule to fix something they broke. Never in my thoughts did I think Kingsport Toyota wouldn't agree that the issue I was having was because of the work they did on THAT EXACT area of my car. I thought the window was off track, not that something was broken. The back window is not something used everyday, some people never use them, and I think 2 weeks to realize and make the call and prepare to spend another 3 hours of my time to say "your guys didn't put my window back in it's track properly - you need to fix it" is perfectly acceptable. I will never have any of our Toyotas worked on at this dealership. So much for paying to have something done right.

All summer long I was looking for a barely used car with low miles and excellent service records, preferably a one-owner, local vehicle (a unicorn, perhaps, but I could hope!). For months I had viewed all the local dealerships' inventory online and cruised through every lot from here to Knoxville without finding anything I liked. Then one Sunday I drove through the used car lot at Toyota of Kpt, and boy, was I surprised at the inventory! There were three cars on their lot that I really liked, and I wasn't sure how to choose the right one! The next day I drove back to Kingsport to the dealership (20 miles +/- and well worth the trip!) and with the help of my TERRIFIC salesman, Will McDavid,I chose a 2014 Camry that's just perfect for me! Excellent Service Expierence

Once again I have taken my Toyota 4 Runner to Toyota of Kingsport and I received the great service that I have always gotten. Friendly service setting up the appointment and fast friendly service when I first drove up in the building.They made sure I had no other concerns other than the reason I was there. They let me know exactly what they would be doing and while I wait, they gave me a run down on what was available to me in their service department waiting area. While I waited just about every employee that past through the area where I was sitting spoke to me and several asked if I was OK and was there anything they could do for me. After my car was on the rack they came to me and asked me if I wanted to get my rotors done. Then once the service was complete they went over the work that had been done..I live in Johnson City but it has always been worth the ride to Kingsport to get work done on my car. These guys are number one in my book.

Eye Opening

On 10-17-2015 I stopped by Toyota of Kingsport to possibly trade my vehicle. After talking to the salesman about trading we test drove a few vehicles. Now it was time to talk money so naturally they wanted to look my vehicle over. After they took my offer then began the famous two pencil negotiations as they call it. This negotiation consists of you making an offer then they counter with an offer that insults your intelligence. The first pencil counter was so bad that the salesman Lee Gregg who seems like a good guy wouldn't show it to me. After this Steve Kondik comes swooping in to save the day by telling you the faults of your car and why it isn't worth anywhere near what you think it is. In my case he discovered surface rust on the tow hitch of an eleven year old vehicle and to him it was such a devastating find he wasn't sure he would be able to resale the vehicle. Then for the icing on top after him looking at my vehicle which for eleven years has had one problem and runs like a top he discovered that the dash was lit up light a Christmas tree with warning lights. This took me by surprise I had just got out of the vehicle and no lights were on or had been on that I can remember. I checked the owners manual of the vehicle and it indicated that pushing the brakes obsessively can cause these lights to come on. It seems to me which I could be wrong that if these lights were truly on when he started the check, because they were definitely on when he finished, he had the keys and the service department was open so why didn't Steve just have it checked and inform me what the problem was because when I left the lights went off and never came back on. Kind of makes me wonder. Then he pulls out a paper from what he says is from Kelly blue book. I've been to kbb several times and never encountered a page looking like what he showed me. I got the impression that Steve thought he was the smartest guy in the room and that I could either soak in his wealth of knowledge or go somewhere else. Well lucky for me there are several Toyota dealerships around. BUYER BEWARE

I went looking for a 2015 Avalon Hybrid at a specific price as I had already researched the vehicle online. Saleman Derrick Ilgner did a great job of working to get the price down to the number I had requested & I ended up purchasing the vehicle. The process went very smoothly & quickly with no pressure or other sales tactics used by Derrick or anyone else at the dealership. Not totally happy YET!

The reason I am not totally happy, is that on the last two service visits, something was either missed or in the case of my recent service broken. On my first wheel alignment service, after a 134 point inspection, the small lamp inside the headlight enclosure was burnt out and the plug and cable to a running board lamp was hanging down? My recent service resulted in a broken A/C vent on the dash. I called the service desk on my way home and they are going to fix it, and I think very responsive to my call. The service agents are very professional and I am willing to give them another try!

Each person who talked to me about what was to be done to my car made sure I understood so I could make a good choice. They took the time on each of my questions.

It's like visiting an old friend

Having our cars serviced is like visiting an old friend. We pull into the service center and before we open the doors someone is right their. We are in and out in know time. They. Came to us before doing anything that we didn't have down. Had a glitch with the computer and they couldn't apologize enough. They were so worried we would be upset. They really care. Waiting to see....

This past weekend we went to Toyota of Kingsport and purchased a Sienna Mini-van. The advertisement said satelite radio was one of the included options and the sales staff agreed while we were test driving the van. We purchased the van on Friday evening and went back Saturday to take delivery and get a walk-through by the staff of how to opperate the options. When the staff attempted to program the radio they could not pull up the satelite radio option. After several attempts they got someone from the service department to check it out. He stated that the radio was the "wrong radio for that model" and that there was no satelite radio option on that particular radio. The salesman said he would talk with the manager Monday morning but we probably needed to purchase a seperate radio and install it ourselves and also said the navigation option wouldn't work with the satelite option and we couldn't have both. I am giving the dealership a chance to make this right before I contact Toyota and I will update this post on how everything goes.

I went to Toyota of Kingsport after a very disappointing trip to Johnson City Toyota. Johnson City Toyota was not able to produce a vehicle they had advertised on their website, on Autotrader, and that I had emailed someone about. They tried to substitute it with a much more expensive deal and would not try to make a similar deal on the higher priced car. I left very upset and stopped at Toyota of Kingsport to see what they had to offer. Salesman Lee Gragg was very familiar with all the vehicles on the lot and took time to find out what my needs were. He told me they didn't have the car I was looking for, but he could check at some other dealerships for it. I started laughing and told him the vehicle was at Johnson City Toyota, not the original car I went to see, but the more expensive one I feel in love with. The wheeling and dealing started, and in a very short time a deal was struck and I was going to be the proud new owner of a shiny blue Toyota Corolla S (as soon as someone went and got the car from Johnson City Toyota). Lee said it might take a day or two to get the car and get it ready, but at 12:30 the next day it was waiting for me. I spent some time with Kristen Humphrey, who told me all about my new car and gave me lots of handouts to help me get to know all its features. She is very well educated in the cars and is a car "nerd" genius. I highly recommend Toyota of Kingsport. Save yourself some aggravation and skip Johnson City Toyota and go right to Toyota of Kingsport.

We purchased a. New Sequoia Limited. Couldn't be happier with the Sales Consultant and support staff. Mark was very helpful in showing us our possible choices answering all of our questions. We purchased a new Toyota yesterday from Toyota. They had exactly what we were looking for in stock. The salesman, Patrick Adirolfi was not pushy and was very professional. Im loving my pre owned Honda Accord!!

I had been looking for a good buy on a pre owned vehicle. I had looked online and around at other dealerships. I had in mind wanting a pre owned Honda car with low miles, not new, but at same time nothing old, and was looking for a fair price. I stopped in that day to look at the Honda I had viewed online , found the car, and it was just as Toyota had it profiled online. The car salesman Patrick Adinolfi offered his great assistance, knowledge of the car, and explained the deal being offered by Toyota for that specific car. Patrick Adinolfi , along with his manager worked with me on the price and got it lowered to a reasonable price that I was looking for. In the end they even offered me a better interest rate than my credit union had to offer. I gladly give them a overall five star rating in customer service and the buying process. The salesman Patrick Adinolfi made my visit very comfortable and trusting with his knowledge of the car I wanted and Toyota company and the fact that he was not demanding or pushy about me purchasing a vehicle.

I have never been involved in the purchase of a Toyota. It has always been a Chevrolet. Best Birthday gift help EVER!

I have been looking for the perfect birthday gift for my husband. My 3 daughters and I decided that he needed a good used truck. We researched and decided on the Tacoma. The 4 of us spent a miserable week in our search of the Tri-Cities area with no results. Everything was either over priced or in terrible condition. Our last stop was Toyota of Kingsport. Oh my goodness! I'm still face palming that we didn't just start here! I contacted them online with Brandon Coffie and he emailed me back immediately. He was so helpful. The girls and I were excited and we actually showed up a day early to see the truck Brandon had helped me with. Patric Adinolfi greeted us at the door of the dealership with a sweet smile and made it his goal to show us the truck right away. After a test drive we knew this was the one for the Daddy! We were just nervous to see if the dealership would work with us so we could afford it. The sales manger was Chuck Hunt and he was amazing! Our Prius Experience

My name is Ed Leeson and I am 59 years old and just recently retired. My wife and I visited Toyota of Kingsport on Saturday 4/11/15 to look at a Prius. All my life I had a company vehicle so when I had to turn my company vehicle in I wanted to get a car that was dependable, cost efficient and would last a long time. We felt very comfortable with this dealership since we had previously bought a car from them several years ago. The reason we came back was fourfold...the salesman, service, price and Toyota's reputation. First off, the salesman who is a friend of ours (Marvin Tolley) is a man of integrity and a brother in Christ. We could not ask for a better individual to deal with. Marvin explains everything to you and ensures you get exactly what you are looking for including a good price. Then the service from the accessory sales consultant (Kristin Humphrey) was great. She took the time to tell us the ins and outs of the car we were buying and even helped us put a Toyota App on our smart phone which is phenomenal. Everything is on this app about your car - it has service offers, roadside assistance, warranty info, safety recalls, service history, vehicle manuals, how to videos, etc. Lastly, I am an avid Toyota fan. I have owned Buicks, Cadillacs, Chevrolets, Fords, Hondas, Mercedes, Nissans, Pontiacs, and Toyotas in the past. Suffice it to say, the Toyota has been far above their competition and this is a proven fact. All you have to do is look at Consumer Reports for vehicles and Toyota is at the top of the pack in overall ratings. Of all the vehicles I have owned, the Toyotas have less maintenance problems, are more dependable and have a better re-sale value than any vehicle on the market. We love our Prius, it is comfortable, roomy and economical...50 mpg definitely makes this a "winner" in our opinion!

Purchacing a New Highlander LE Plus

I went to Toyota of Kpt. to look at new or real good used cars as I was just starting to look for a new/newer SUV/Crossover vehicle than the '03 Chevy Trailblazer that I owned. I had been to Dodge, Kia & Honda dealerships earlier in the day and had driven a couple of vehicles already. I would like to say here that I've have had both hips, both knees replaced and I have peripheral neuropathy in both feet. Very painful & burning feet. As I drove thru the lot I stopped and B.J. Hill asked could he help me & I said yes and that I was starting to look around.. He said for me to park and we'd walk around & look at what they had plus that they could get me most any car I'd like in a day or two. I told him of my physical problems and he said to park and come inside and we'd look at the inventory on the computer plus we could look at other "Hill Family" lots in the Tri-Cities area.We looked at several SUV's and the he pulled up the Highlander LE Plus.I liked the info on it esp the fact that it was White. He had it brought around (very nice gesture) & I knew in the first 2 miles that I wanted this car. It drove & rode like a dream. It also had CLOTH SEATS, NO SUN ROOF, FANTASTIC SOUND SYSTEM (JBL) AND GAS TANK ON DRIVERS SIDE!!! Which were things that I REALLY REALLY LIKED, esp. gas tank fill on drivers side. We went back talked money (no trade in) and after some discussion & approvals he gave me a number that I could live with. So on the way home I stopped at the Eastman Credit Union, spoke with a lady in car loans. She took my info, looked up my credit rating, looked at the pros n cons of this car and said "If you're interested in buying a NEW CAR this would be too good of a deal pass up". I called B.J. & told him to hold it for me. I had to put a down pmt. on it over the phone (using credit card) just in case someone else had there eye on it. I am now driving it and the envy of my neighborhood!! I've told a few close friends of the deal I got and they said that I had "done good". I know they made money but I think I got a good deal on a TOP QUALITY CAR with GREAT WARRANTY!!!

Toyota of Kingsport was pretty far drive from my house. I had searched and searched for the Toyota Sienna I was looking for all around my area. Then I searched and found the one I wanted at Kingsport. It was well worth the drive. Great selection of vehicles and service.

Awful experience

I recently stopped by Toyota of Kingsport to look at the inventory of 4Runners. I was met nearly immediately by a salesman. I explained my intentions and agreed to a test drive. I was not planning on purchasing a vehicle this day as my wife and I already had other appointments scheduled for the rest of the day. The salesman continued to push information from me and pushed for me to purchase a vehicle before I left the dealership (even though they did not have the model I was looking for). The salesman even got his manager who also pushed for me to make a decision that day despite our plea that we were just window shopping and not there to purchase that day. After hearing this news the manager left without apologizing or anything. The salesman also lied to us stating that Toyota of Bristol had lost their Lifetime Warranty status with Toyota. Good luck if you decide to buy from here, they seem very deceptive.

2015 Toyota Prius

Great job Toyota of Kingsport. I had bought my first new car from Toyota of Kingsport in 2001. My 2001 Camry served me well and had 269,900 miles and was still a daily driver when I sold it.. My decision to return to Toyota of Kingsport was largely based on the treatment I received 14 years ago by salesman Mike Cox. Dealers should think about the service they are providing today. It may very well come full circle.I had made two trips to a Toyota dealer that was in closer proximity to my house and both times walked away with the feeling that they were either too good for my family or just didn't really want to deal with us.Kudos th the staff at Kingsport Toyota. I hope to see you again in about 14 more years!

Great Experince - Much Improvement

We had a great experience purchasing our 2015 Avalon from Toyota of Kingsport. The Salesman (David) was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The sales management (Chuck and Brian) were also very helpful and made an extra effort to get our business and meet our needs. There have been some significant improvements in the way they do business since the last time I was in the market for a vehicle. The salesman greeted me promptly upon arrival and was very helpful in helping me find the perfect car. John Martin worked with me to negotiate an amazing deal on a new car and got me well above blue book value for my trade-in. He was very personable and knowledgeable. David Owens (finance) worked quickly and efficiently to complete the necessary paperwork late on a Saturday afternoon, was very friendly and was very attentive to detail. FRS Shopping

This is going to be a mixed review. My overall experience here was good. Amanda Kingsley was very helpful with putting me into the car I wanted. There were a few things that I was concerned about. I stood in the lot for 30 minutes before I was even helped out. There were several sales associates standing a few feet from me buying food from a food truck. Some were looking at me while waiting in line. Still no help. Then I found Amanda and things were looking up from there. Secondly, even though I made it totally clear that the finances were going to be taken care of by me, they shopped around through other creditors. Receiving credit denial letters in the mail from other creditors a few days after did not make me happy at all. A few years out of bankruptcy, I didn't want to take all of those hard hits with my credit that I'm rebuilding. Down to the brass tacks, Amanda made the car shopping experience enjoyable when we put the cons aside. I would go back.

This was the second Toyota we have bought from this dealership in the last four years. We have been very pleased with our experiences with the sales employees and also with the service department. Our original contact was with Carol Smith from whom we had bought our first Toyota. She was very busy at that time and Mr. Birchfield stepped in with an offer to help. Overall, it was a great buying experience. I went in with price quotes from other dealers, and the recommended buying price from Consumer Reports. Having made an appointment after contacting their website, Derrick Ilgner had the one and only properly equipped Prius ready for a test drive. We were off to show my wife and son what a great car we were considering, my wife being undecided. After the test drive, Derrick asked me what price they needed to meet, I told him, and they agreed, We had no intention of making a purchase that evening, but everything fell into place perfectly. Derrick was very knowledgable, the test drive was a delight, and the rest is history.
