This was our second purchase with Toyota of dm and they went the extra mile to get me the truck, gave me a great trade in value during both of our transactions, and even though we had a minor mishap with the truck they kept me informed and put new tires on it for the inconvenience. My recent purchase at Toyota of Des Moines was fantastic! Let's face it buying a car flat out sucks! The level of stress it causes is crazy, most dealerships I have been to in the past don't seem to care about that. I decided to look on the Toyota of Des Moines web site to see what they had to offer and a chat window opened asking if I would like to talk to a salesman, here we go I thought. Well this is when my great service began all my questions were promptly answered, I was in shock! Every other dealer I had tried to talk to prior to going into the dealership would only say to me well you will just have to come in and we can discuss it. Fast forward to Friday evening I went to the dealership to test drive the car, it was all about how I felt and what I thought never was anything pushed down my throat this continued through the closing of the sale it was all so relaxed and no where near high pressure. Now I have a new Toyota Highlander that I love!

Updated my Avalon at Toyota of Des Moines

Overall, the buying experience with my salesperson and the dealership was what I expected. I am typically an informed buyer and do my homework on the Internet looking at the dealership's website first which is why I decided to even change vehicles. With the end of the year models being discounted by the manufacturer in addition to the dealership, I decide to consider trading. I dealt with my salesperson a few weeks earlier when my brother was in town looking for a used vehicle. My sales person dealt well with allowing time to make a decision between two different models and provided good input at the appropriate time. The only thing is that it seems to take a long time once a decision is made to buy and considering all the information that is seemingly being put into the computer, I thought the paperwork should be faster. However, that seems to be the norm except for one dealership I purchased from over the Internet before arriving. I have purchased other vehicles primarily online and would have done this, but I felt that day like going to the dealership since the car was for my spouse. I am typically not a big negotiator but won't shy away from it. I prefer to "get to the bottom line" quickly once I make a decision to buy. I felt the decision to accept an offer did take a little longer than necessary, but each sales manager has his own style. I also felt the estimate of my trade should have been done earlier in the buying process.

Everyone that I worked with to buy my car were excellent. From Bob Link to Dallas Buck to Rob Bierma. they were all very polite, answered all my questions, worked with me to get me the best deal on my new Highlander and went out of their way to thank me for my purchase. Todd treated like we were his only customers for day

We were in the Des Moines area looking at Subarus. Being not completely satisfied, we drove to the Toyota dealership just to see what was on the lot and in our price range. (HUGE selection!) We've owned several Toyotas in the past so were well aware of the reputation/reliability of the brand. We were walk-in customers and Todd greeted us right away and treated us like he had dealt with us before and was very knowledgeable and helpful in our search for the right vehicle. We settled on a 2017 RAV4. We had a Toyota Corolla XRS trade-in ready to discuss a deal. We got a great deal and thorough walk-through of the vehicle and its accessories (i.e. Bluetooth, etc.). The Customer Service is excellent! The ride home was smooth and comfortable. We got a call from the dealership the next day to ensure all was well with the vehicle and our purchasing experience. It seems that once you're a Toyota owner, always a Toyota owner.

Professional, Quick, and Easy Leasing Experience

I contacted Toyota via an internet search and Heather responded right away. The next day Heather had a vehicle available for a test drive with the exact color and options I wanted. My husband and I came in to discuss the possibility of purchasing our 2014 Toyota Sienna van. Excellent!!!

We already had a Toyota to trade in so we new the quality of the product. Therefore the sales team and dealership was most prominent in the experience. We found the dealership and sales staff to all be top shelf. From walking in the door and greeting staff to Roland Pappoe,our salesman, the finance and delivery staff all to be professionally friendly and knowledgeable about the car and and any features questions we had. While they were there to sell cars, they were not pushy and aggressive. In particular Roland was adept at "reading" body language and stepped back or stepped up as appropriate. That is something that can be very irritating to "me" the buyer when sales staff are aggressive and "in your face". That ability is a true sign of a professional and is difficult to achieve.

I had a 2008 Prius that was totaled. I came in and bought a Rav. David was helpful and patient. Good experience. I came in because of the excellent service I had received while owning the Prius. Once, when the battery had died, I called Pete after hours. He arranged to have the car towed to the dealership and have it repaired. That simple act has probably made me a customer for life.

Pleasantly surprised

Extremely Happy!!

Last year we bought a used car w/Bob and everything went perfect. This year, we decided we wanted to upgrade to a bigger SUV. We had our eye on the Highlander and Bob was able to narrow it down to the model and exact color (interior and exterior) we wanted. My work schedule is crazy so I was there pretty late. The first night we test drove the car and decided it's the one we wanted so Bob even stayed late with us to finish all the paper work. The next day he was off, but even offered to come in on his day off the help me w/other paper work we needed to fill out. The next night, I wasn't in until 7:15 - but we were in and out with our brand new Highlander within 45 minutes! Yes, the overall process was spread across a matter of 3 days, but with my time being limited - they were very understanding. We are so happy with our purchase! Extremely efficient and family friendly

We came to buy a small commuter car for my husband and the entire process was super easy. Our two kids were entertained by the salesperson and the finance manager so they had a wonderful time. We had a test drive, financed the loan, and had the car cleaned/gassed up in the matter of a bit over an hour. The whole process was fast, easy and actually pretty enjoyable, all things considered.

Service: I purchased a 2016 tocoma and need to get my 5000 service. I came from Ottumwa to purchase it and wanted to try the service department but asked about an appointment for next Saturday but was told I would have to drop it off and they would work it in. I said that wouldn't work for me since I wasn't local, didn't try to help me with an appointment just said sorry and hung up. Guess I'll have to see if the local dealer will service my purchase from DesMoines Toyota and buy my next one there.

We made the deal our new 2017 Tacoma over the phone after finding it listed on CARGURUS and dealt exclusively with Shane Siegle throughout the process. He was outstanding in every respect and made it more than worth our time and effort to make a 10 hr round trip to complete the purchase of the vehicle. From there we went to customer service where we were given a detailed overview of the features and functions of the Tacoma. We found a used vehicle on their website that we wanted to check out. They were very responsive in getting a hold of us and setting up an appointment for a test drive. Service department advisors are robot zombies

These folks used to be very helpful and knowledgable at the old location. Since they became iPad toting up sellers I dread going in for service. Gone is true customer service. Oil change now $50?They rotated daughters tires on car at an oil change without asking to drive cost up to $85. They have take it or leave it attitude.

2016 Toyota Avalon Limited Hybrid

My salesman Dan Murray did an excellent job of selling me my new Avalon Hybrid. I was unknowable of all of the advantages of a hybrid, but Dan convinced me to try it and I was impressed. Then after some tough negotiations, Dan persevered and we were able to make a deal, and even after the sale continued to go to bat for me on minor discrepancies. Spencer in delivery was knowable and very nice going over all of the features of the new vehicle and offered to help with any questions at a later time if needed.I have been a Toyota of Des Moines customer for about 30 years. I take my cars there to be serviced and they have always taken good care of me. My current service advisor is Cass Cupp, but also had the pleasure of working with Mike Lebeda, most recently.

Love my Tacoma 44 Sport!!

I came into Toyota looking for a truck that was going to be a comfortable ride. I have a bad back and live with constant chronic pain and doing cause me to have extreme pain to were I don't look forward getting into my car and driving. . I was needing to (not wanting to) trade my black Challenger rt hemi 6 speed on the floor in because I can no longer handle the clutch. Dustin Moran came out and was amazing at helping me find the right fit for me. Not really wanting to part with my hot rod , Dustin found the Tacoma Sport and knew that I would fall in love with it and he was RIGHT! The ride is so comfortable and driving no longer causes me extreme pain. I'm very happy and excited to now be part of the Toyota family and I only have Dustin Moran to thank for this! I have bought my last two vehicles with Toyota. A year ago I bought my Camry from Todd Petrowsky, I didn't want another car payment but had no choice since mine basically broke down. Service manager discourteous

Have had several issues including my vehicle being hit in the shop while in for service. I emailed, called and left messages for Travis (service manager) no response to any of my attempts to contact him. I typically request a tech that is meticulous in their work to avoid past issues. I found it very disrespetful for the amount of money ive spent at Toyota of Dm as well as the Gabus group as a whole.

Friendly and Knowledgeable

After being disenfranchised by other dealerships and past experiences it was a blessing to find such friendly and helpful staff. I came in not planning to buy a new vehicle, but after working with Derrick he was able to help me find the right fit for me that I didn't even know I was in my price range. Many salesmen I had previously dealt with are pushing to get you to leave with the first vehicle you look at, not so with Derrick and Toyota of Des Moines. It was the most pleasant time I have spent car shopping and after test driving several vehicles I was able to find the right one for me and have been extremely happy with my purchase. Totally enjoyed buying my Toyota at Toyota of Des Moines

From the moment we were greeted we were treated as guests not victims of a car sale. Our greeter asked questions about our visit to properly assist us in our search for a car. He took us all over the lot because we had an extensive list. I had driven our current vehicle for twelve or so years. So even the used vehicles were extremely different with huge updates. Joshua our sales person was not pushy or insulting. We truly felt he was looking out for our best interest and giving us the best car possible for what we wanted to pay. After a brief period of questions regarding financing we were ready to be on our way to consider our choices. We were able to leave the dealership with his card in hand without an insistence that we be interviewed by a closer that had happened at another dealership the day before that totally turned us off. I wouldn't even have gone looking again and driven my vehicle till it fell apart before enduring the catastrophe from the day before. Upon my partners encouragement we traveled to the dealer and I found I was unable to leave without the used car I had test driven. Reviewing the cars again that RAV4 stood out. That was my first drive in a Toyota. It was a superior vehicle. Although it was a 2013 it looked and drove like a fresh out of the showroom car. It has heated leather seats, backup camera with blind spot mirrors, fold down rear seats, great sounding sound system that Bluetoothed to my phone for hands free driving. At the point I made the offer I didn't realize the push button lift gate option it had also. My seat could be conformed to perfectly make my drive effortless, and remembered me as driver 1. I wouldn't have changed anything about the car. You see I could buy this car with all the features I was looking for at a price I could afford and be happy with. All the safety checks had been made for me even new tires on the car. I would have had to forget the heated leather seats in buying new. This car was a true bargain.So yes I recommend this dealership. I am not afraid of being attached and held hostage. Best car buying experience ever. Go see Joshua Harris at Toyota of Des Moines.

Leasing Corolla S Plus 2016

I'm an international student and this was my first experience, and first car in the USA. Derrick was very patient and prompt with my numerous queries. He and Dallas helped me to out regarding the financing part, which I was not sure about as I had very short length of credit history. Derrick is very friendly and made the car leasing experience very comfortable. The entire experience was great and effortless and I am loving my new corolla !!!

Improvements needed

The post sale customer service is lacking. I had to follow up on the 'we owes' twice before a date was set for service. The 'free car washes' have yet to happen. The vehicle is wonderful but the customer service needs improvement.

Josh was great to deal with. I'm not the easiest guy to deal with and Josh hung right in there. Our Tacoma was delivered clean and Spencer went over all the options with us. We love our new Tacoma!I would recommend Josh in the future.

Ken Bright, the salesperson, is an exceptional individual who is friendly and can look you in the eye. He was honest with us about what was needed and what was not. Most of all, he practically bent over backward to help me find the car I wanted. The final price was reasonable and what I was quoted originally. I only intended to look at vehicles, but I actually ended up buying one. It was just too good to be true. My experience working with Toyota of DM was great! Had a budget and was able to stick to it. No crazy upselling was involved. When another customer looked at the car I was interested in, Rob called me and told me that someone else was interested in it. I thought it was great customer service that he let me know there was someone else interested and so I was able to arrange my schedule so that I could get the car that day and didn't let the car get bought before I could get to the dealership. I really appreciated the gesture. So far my new car is working out great!
