Bryan Flowers was our salesman and he was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant . He showed us the Avalon and all the features. The dealership was great and they treated us with respect. They listened to all of our questions and they gave us a very good deal on the car. We are still learning about the many features of our new car. They followed up and answered any additional questions we had. I highly recommend Toyota of Colchester for anybody shopping for a new or used vehicle. I also recommend Bryan Flowers as your salesman. You will not be disappointed.

I went with my grandmother to trade in my old car and buy my first one from a dealer and it was a great experience! Reggie came outside right away and pulled up a few cars for us based on our interests! He was super helpful and definitely didn't make us feel uncomfortable. Great experience overall especially since we had such a great sales man who helped us get the price we wanted. If you go I definitely suggest making an appointment with him! I needed a couple things fixed on the car after we bought it and he took care of it for us right away.

I took the car in for a service and the sales manager lied to me about the services the performed. The service manager made me feel stupid in front of other customers and talked down to me. They didn't fix any of my original car issues and had to go to another dealership to get them resolved. I went their twice and will never again. My husband even called the general manager to discuss the matter and he was not willing to do anything, talking in circles. Typical salesman!! My husband told me he talked to him with respect, must be the fact that I am a women. I gave them two chances and both had the same outcome. WOMEN BEWARE!! They will disrespect you and talk down to you.

Unfortunately this dealer failed to fix a relatively simple problem with defective tires on a brand new truck and even erroneously charged me. They were given the opportunity twice but failed, wasting my time. I had the problem accurately troubleshot and resolved at another dealer in Hartford with no hassles. Toyota of Colchester has not earned my business and I will not be back.

I am so happy that I bought a car at Toyota of Colchester. I went there toward the end of my search, and at that point I pretty much knew I wanted a Prius c and was going to a few dealers to compare their pricing. I hadnt expected to buy there. Mark was prompt and professional in his phone calls and emails, and upon arriving at the dealership, I could tell right away that Mark and Daniel really cared about selling a car to me (rather than to just some random human). I test-drove on the highway (something I hadnt done yet) with Daniel, and then we discussed pricing. Although it was evident that I was close to buying a Prius somewhere, they werent pressuring even when their number was higher than another dealers. I was saying that the difference was too much and that as much as I wanted to buy from them, Id likely buy elsewhere (I almost felt guilty of this because of their kindness). They ended up beating the other dealers price, and I signed right then and took the car home a few days later. They even waited through a snowstorm for me to come in. In the days since my purchase Ive gotten a follow-up call hoping that I love the Prius (I do), and it makes me thrilled that I bought a car from a dealer I can trust. Thank you!

We originally shopped for our Sienna at Toyota of Colchester because we lived really close. We have since moved a half hour away and we STILL drive back here to have our minivan serviced. The service department is excellent, accommodating, professional, reasonable and they rarely try to upsell you on anything. All of the customer service people in the service department are excellent, and I have found that Colton, in particular, will really go the extra mile to make sure a customer is satisfied with their experience.

From my initial visit to my final visit when I picked up my new car, MIKE CYR, the sales representative, was extremely helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable. Never did I feel that I was being pushed into buying a car which would have sent me out the door fast. The test drive on my first visit was pleasant due to his kindness. When I got my car, he patiently explained everything about the vehicle. Mike was the primary reason for me buying from Toyota of Colchester. The negotiations and financing process went very smoothly. Jason was helpful with the nuts and bolts of the actual purchase. The car of my choice was found quickly and I had it in my possession the next day. Toyota of Colchester is by far the best dealership that I have worked with. The overall service is outstanding and they treat everyone like family. My sales person named Yommie was excellent in every way. He helped me through the whole process of my purchase and even cut down some balloons from the showroom to give to my son. The General Manager named Chris Antonino was awesome. I purchased a used 4runner and I wanted to add accessories including step bars. He ordered the parts and gave me a loaner car while the bars were being installed. He also came out personally and explained the financing details to me. When a brought the loaner car back to pick up the 4runner, Chris (general manager) was personally assisting in washing and detailing the truck. Toyota of Colchester is managed so professionally and other dealerships should also operate this way. I will be referring everyone interested in purchasing a vehicle to this dealership. Thanks everyone at Toyota of Colchester for a great experience!!

I purchased a nontoyota vehicle from this dealership in 2013. The sale went smoothly, I received the payment I was comfortable with and was pleased with the business end of the sale. Unfortunately I needed to register the vehicle and it also needed to go through state required emissions testing. The test facility told me that the car had previously FAILED the test at the time of the sale. Now I am out over Two Thousand dollars to repair the vehicle to comply with emissions. I asked for help with the situation and Mr. Gravanis, the general manager, told me that since the extended warranty that I bought at the time of purchase didn't cover emissions related items, they would not help me, even though they were aware of the failed emissions when they sold me the vehicle. I am now in the process of reporting their negligence to the DMV and plan to recoup my expenses, including rental car, through small claims court. Thanks Jim and all of the staff at Colchester Toyota!

Never again will I make a purchase from Toyota of Colchester. while looking at the vehicle, the sales rep had absolutely no idea about anything on the vehicle I chose. when asking questions the answers were, "I'm not too sure" or he would try to change the subject. they left me sitting at a desk while 4-5 people looked for missing keys for 20 minutes. All of the paperwork and payments were taken care of by Tuesday and they told me they would give a call by close of business on Thursday. Not only was the staff extremely pushy throughout the buying experience, they blatantly lied to me, making me call them to find out when I can get my new-used vehicle. when I called today (Friday) they put me on hold for about 12 minutes before I decided to hang up and call again. the second time I was only put on hold for another 3 minutes. When the sales rep came back to the phone he told me the car wouldn't be ready today... the call they never made was suppose to be to tell me when today (Friday) I can pick it up. when I asked the guy why, he proceeded to tell me they are waiting for parts and detailing it. I went in to look at the car a week ago from today, this should have been done long before. (considering the fact that all the work could have been done by me on jack stands in a half day if need be.) If I wasn't so dead-set on buying that specific model I wouldn't have stuck around; overall an awful buying experience and I will be telling everyone I know, including my sister who is on the market for a new Camry to stay away!

I saw their add on cars.com for a 2007 tacoma 6 speed. I get there and it was an automatic. Then i take it for a test drive and the sailsman had zero knowledge on the truck. Next i test drove a tacoma pre runner and i asked the sailsman if it was 4wd and he told me he wasnt sure. I ended up looking it up on my phone at his desk, it was in fact a 2wd truck. Next they told me they would certify the original truck i was looking at, and they would throw on a 7 year/100,000 mile warrenty on a 7 year old vehicle. I asked a freind who works at a toyota dealership if this was possible and he said "no way". So i didnt buy the over priced tacoma. It seemed far to good to be true, and the sailsmen need to study up on their toyoyas so they can make a knowledgable sale.

Well, I did my homework, and it paid off. I shopped the guys in Middletown and Hartford and was left with a bad taste in my mouth. Last on the list was the dealer closest to me...the one who is supposed to be like having a dealer in the family. I called in and got a Sales advisor...Bob Stillman. He know more about the the Prius Plug ins than anyone I'd spoken to and took me out for an excellent test drive, showing me each of the drive modes, the Entune stuff and NAV...and we got 132 miles per gallon when I took over the the wheel...I couldn't believe it. So far it's the best car we've ever owned. The process was so easy...no negatives about the negotiating. Jim and Mario were very helpful...it really was like having a dealer in the family. Thanks to Toyota of Colchester for making this a great buying decision.

While I didn't purchase my Toyota Corolla at this dealership it is the closest one to my house. I've use it several times for service; they have always been fair and reasonable. This latest service issue was a broken catalytic converter. I knew it was going to be expensive so I brought it in for a full diagnostic. EKK $1,500 for a new pipe (including labor) plus the car really needed another $1,000 in neglected maintenance repairs. Colton was very nice and prioritized the repairs for me. He had a clear understanding that money doesn't grow on trees, but cars do need to be maintained. I felt I was in good hands.While waiting the 2.5 hours for the complete diagnostic and recall repair, I was very happily sitting in their business center using their free wi-fi actually getting my work done. Didn't make me think I was wasting my time at the repair place... actually made me productive!THANK YOU Toyota of Colchester. I look forward with working with you to get these repairs completed and to enjoy many more years with my Corolla.

We went to Toyota of Colchester to utilize their refinance service. One car went fine. The other, the paperwork moved us from 32 payments to 39. We stopped the process, discussed trade in/versus refinance for the car. All through the process, Sean talked over us, ever listened on the phone - just endlessly chattered so my husband hung up on him twice because it did not matter what my husband had to say. Christain NEVER returned a single phone call, I made it clear to Keith what I was looking to do - yet the cancelled refinance went through WITHOUT our permission with a deal we cancelled. Chris has also never returned a phone call. We are in a huge mess with this company and no one will listen or call us back. I recommend Toyota of Middletown.

friendly staff followed trough on the work they said they would do to improve used vehicle. only area of opportunity were 2 things: truck on empty when I picked it up had a 40 mile trip home thought they would have left me with some gas. also i told them all week the date and time I would be there to pick up the vehicle . I would have thought all paperwork would be done and waiting for my signature. paperwork was not ready and had to wait along time until everything was ready . time is valueable. also paid $175 for an engraved VIN number on windshield IT WAS NEVER DONE!

I abosutely hate to deal with dealer/dealerships. I found dealing with Colchester Toyota to be a pleasant experience. The dealers were nice people that you could have a conversation with on a personal level. The sales representative Daniel was a nice guy and a hard worker. He answered any questions I had and was willing to go the extra mile to make sure I was happy. The most shocking and best part of dealing with Colchester Toyota was dealing with the business manager Keith. He was honest, level headed, and a good listener. I have found dealing with these types of guys to be all numbers and all about them. Not Keith, he understood where I was coming from and what I was talking about. The internet representative Mark was quick with the emails and on top of his game to get the information I needed to make my decision about buying a vehicle from Colchester Toyota. I will not longer be using this dealer. They were rude to my wife and treated her with a less than professional attitude. We requested a shuttle for her and spoke to several different employees to ensure there were no issues. The day of the service I even called to ensure there were no issues. They never showed to provide the service that they offered. Upon returning to the dealer my wife was not treated professionally, a fact I should not be surprised of given other stories I have been told. I try to do my best to shop locally and support those in my community, unfortunatley this will not be the case in regards to service of my Toyotas.

I called at 6:30 p.m. due to a loud noise in my engine. Joe told me to come right down and he had a technician waiting to look at it. The noise was a bearing in my water pump on my Highlander of 75,000 miles. Joe immediately told me that the vehicle should not be driven and immediately made arrangements for me to have use of a replacement vehicle so that my vehicle, nor my safety, would be in jeopardy. My comment to co-workers the next day about this experience is that for a dealer of this magnitude, it was refreshing to still know you can get "small town service." This was an extremely positive experience. Although I did not buy the vehicle at Toyota of Colchester, I chose to use your service department due to the person care and concern and expeditious service I receive. On a scale of 1-10, this service experience was a 15! Thanks so much for taking such good care of me on a moment's notice at 6:30 p.m. on a Monday night.....

He was an exemplary salesperson. He gave us the best price on the Prius in comparison to other dealers we looked at and was not pushy or overbearing. I brought the vehicle in for service on Monday night Sept 24th 2012 to have a shifting issue checked. They could not duplicate the issue. The issue is still present. I got a call from John on Sept 25th at 2:07pm. John told me they could not duplicate the problem but did find a lot of other non related issues that needed attention. I knew about these and decided to have them fix some but not all of them. I discussed the list with John and one of the things I told him to wait on and not do was the water pump.He did it anyway.On the 27th at 11:49am John called again to tell me that the parts for the wheel bearings were ordered incorrectly and that my vehicle would not be ready. They would order again. 12:19PM on the 28th John called to tell me that AGAIN the parts dept ordered the incorrect parts and again I am without my vehicle for yet another day. I ended up getting my truck back on Oct 1st. The original estimate was for $1700.00 given to my by John over the phone and that was without a water pump. The final bill was $1838.04. I asked for a few free oil changes and they were granted however this hardly makes up for the fact that we rented a car this whole time. It was very inconvenient and the original issue is not even resolved. When we picked the vehicle up I had to go right back to the dealership and have a scraping sound from the work done on the bearings corrected. They took me right in and partially fixed it. The next morning(today the 2nd of OCT) I went back again to have it fixed properly this time.I bought my Tacoma new at this dealership in 2001 and have been impressed overall over the years. They have not been perfect but they usually do what they must to make this customer happy. I'm not all too happy today for the first time. Colton Brodeur was very helpful and deserves some credit for his efforts. Currently I'm still dealing with the original issue of the truck shifting hard in second gear at around 1500 rpm. I'm aware they must duplicate it but it's random. The final bill under ESTIMATE: read that the original estimate was $2000.00 but it wasn't. It was $1700.00 after the discussion on the phone. I have referred many people to this dealership over the years and even defended you at times when others had issues. I have seen the A game your service dept has had in the past. You can get it back. It's a good dealership. I just wish things had been better this time and I believe they could have been.

I don't think I can fully express my level of dissatisfaction in such a small space that is provided. We purchased a used car from Toyota of Colchester. We realized after the sale that we were lied to MULTIPLE times throughout the sale. We paid extra for a interior treatment that was never applied. The breaks had to be replaced within a month. The gas tank was on empty when we drove off the lot! Now I am stuck with a lemon that I can't even trade in because of how badly I got ripped off. I have tried to contact them multiple times and they never have any records of my complaints. This is a terrible dealership with slimy untrustworthy employees that took advantage of a young mother. Matt explained that there would be an option of spraying the filter with a disinfectant like Lysol if the integrity of the filter was fine and not in need of replacement. I took my 2002 Camry for regular oil change. I was told it take about 45 minutes. I patiently waited 1-1/2 hours because it was busy and finally asked what the car status was. Then, and only then, did service tell me that the mechanic stripped the threads on the oil pan. Service began to re-tap the threads, costing $57 dollars without even discussing it with me. Okay, this had to be done. But let me know what's going on, please and don't give me attitude. They said they would deduct this cost from the bill if I needed a new oil pan. The mechanic said he ran the engine afterward and there were no leaks but said to keep an eye on it because if it did leak they would have to replace the oil pan. Well it did leak; a four-foot puddle in my garage. So I asked a second auto repair shop. They fixed it by re-tapping the threads with a larger diameter. He claimed the prior job was tapped crooked. So now I have a bill from him, but at least he did it right! I want a refund from Toyota of Colchester. Have you hired any decent mechanics lately?

Worst single experience in a dealership ever.I'm a 60 year old pediatrician. My wife and I are looking for a new car, and after reviewing, the Highlander Limited seemed best. I called ahead, appt made for Saturday 6/23. Found a link to Kelly Blue book on home page of a dealership site for Jeeps, which we had also been thinking of (note: on a dealership home page). Took a testdrive, everything was good, ready to buy, checkbook in my pocket.I had two cars for tradein, a totally loaded 2005 Subaru 2.5xt turbo with 38000 miles and a 2008 Smart car with 12700 miles. I had estimates on Kelly for the exact types, found a range of 21K to 23k total. I figured 20 was OK and on we went.Salesman came back with 15k, and of course they would have to subtract $500 from each one for a diagnostic check (which they had already done in their garage), and 300 more for detailing, bringing us down $13400. I told him was ridiculous, and asked for our keys.Instead the manger, Jim Grabadis, came over. How did you get these numbers he asked. Kelly blue book. He then went into a tirade about those eswtimates were ridiculous, that nobody used them, this was absurd, and he needed to make something, after all. (Me wondering about seeing the link to it on the Jeep home page)My wife and I were then subjected to an hour and a half long of bullying, overbearing, in your face ultra hard sell, including several times when he would leave for 15 or 20 minutes at a time. He disappears.Back again. $22250. We are now nitpicking over $250 on a $42000 car.Silence. I'm looking over at my wife thinking if he can't see that she's about ready to blow, he's blind. I tell him so. "You're about to lose her".He takes up his pen, marks through the $22500, and writes down $22000. "see," he says, "you're getting just what you asked for originally". Then why did we have to subjected to this hour and a half of verbal insult and abuse? If you simply said fine, you would have made a certain sale, and we would be halfway home in a new car.Final stroke - "I like you two, you seem like nice people, so tell you what i'm going to do. I'm going to throw in two years of free maintainence". Ta da! Not to mention that the two years free maintainence is already included in the price of the car. Wife stands up, without looking at either of us, and walks out the door.He then delivers his best line: "You know how these ladies can be. I think if you go out and talk to her, she will come back in". I'm thinking, believe me, on a list of things you hope never happens to you, having my wife come back in is at the top. You have no idea.I now have ask four times, each time in a louder voice, to have my car keys back, while he argues with me. I'm actually starting to wonder if I need to call the resident trooper, when he finally gives them back.I can remember back when I was a resident making 14 grand a year with no credit whatsoever, trying to buy a used Pinto. I was better treated then.When we get home, there's a message on our phone from him, saying: We seem to have had a little misunderstanding, you seemed a little upset when you left, I hope everything's OK, please call me back". I feel like I just lived through an old Chevy Chase movie called The Worst Car Dealership in the World.If his aim was to wreck a certain sale, he did a standup job. Otherwise, not so much.You may ask, did he know you were a doctor? No, I don't volunteer that, since the price of everything suddenly doubles,and he didn't ask. Wow, just drove home in my 2007 Highlander. Two days ago I was just looking at it, flat out told them they probably couldn't help me with financing, but they made it happen! I had a ZERO credit score with a repo on it, due to losing a job back in 2007 when the place I worked for went under. Now I am back on my feet, and I could have bought a cheaper car with cash but wanted a long term reliable vehicle with a chance to finance it so I can rebuild my credit. I did a lot of research, narrowed my search to a Honda or a Toyota due to their reliability and how they hold their value. I spent six weeks looking around, had a few turn downs on credit, a few shady dealers who tried to screw me around, and I was out of patience. I should mention I have a vehicle that runs fine, just wanted an AWD with working AC! So this was not a "have to" purchase for me.The Highlander was a little over what I initially wanted to pay, but it is also a great vehicle with all the extras. The interest rate is higher than I would like but I knew it would be, a by product of my credit situation which I have to deal with. I would highly recommend giving them a shot, even if you think you are stuck with buy-here pay-here as your only option. Their finanace person is great, was aggressive and made it happen! Everyone I dealt with was wonderful and full of personality and humor. Normally I just HATE car shopping. HATE it. But they were real with me and honest, I will be going back there for my regular service. So do your homework, have some down payment cash (I had $3k) and be willing to try, because you never know. I was frustrated, you end up feeling like a loser - but in this economy there are lots of people like me, and it feels good to know I still have options! Oh, and I am a woman & they didn't treat me like an idiot, so ladies don't worry, you won't have to drag a man with you to get treated right!

initially there was confusion as to whether I had an appointment. I had done so the day before by computer and then confirmed this by phone. This issue was quickly resolved by another service manager who had my paper work ready.The work was done sooner than promised and the charge was less than expected. I called to make an appointment for a transmission fluid flush & oil change. They were able to get me in that afternoon. I was taken on time & the service was completed in about an hour. I was quoted a price of $169 for the transmission fluid service on the phone & when I arrived they told me that it was actually $220. As a long time Toyota owner relatively new to the area, I began looking for a Toyota replacement for one of my vehicles about three years ago. In that time, I've been meeting sales people at Toyota stores within a 30-mile radius, one store at a time as my schedule allowed.I believe that when making a capital purchase, the way one is treated at sales time is indicative of the treatment they will receive after any sale. Till now, in every case, making a major purchase given the way I had been treated at local Toyota dealerships was an unacceptable proposition. Experiences gave me no faith in either the short, or long-term results of any of my purchase attempts.In April of this year, I visited Colchester Toyota, working with Mark Guimond and Bob Stillman, and members of the management team. The experience was completely different, and the level of professionalism a cut above. Really, is it so difficult for two parties to be respectful during tough negotiations? (rhet.) Not being so certainly won't lead to satisfaction on either party's part - regardless of the outcome. Toyota of Colchester's handling of my inquiry led to my purchasing a Tacoma, which I'll enjoy going about my chores. They impressed with a longer term perspective that went beyond the date of sale. It also led to my finding a "home" dealership for both of my Toyota's, and they've earned "first right of refusal" for my future business as well. I had my car serviced (60,000 mile service). Shortly after I left, my tire pressure warning light came on. Knowing that tire pressure check and fill is part of the service, I was surprised. I checked my tires, which are clearly marked to be inflated to a max pressure of 44 PSI, and they were at 32. On top of that, the tires (which should have been rotated as part of the service), were not rotated. I wonder what else they missed? I called the same day and left a message for my service advisor to call the next day. No phone call. Though this dealer has been good to me in the past, this experience of no call back and service paid for but not performed is NOT acceptable.

The service was professional and timely, and as usual they did an excellent job. My one concern is that I had made arrangements several days prior to come down from Boston for the oil change and some warranty work (replacing a fan). It was when I got there that I was told that they would replace the fan "if they had one in stock." Fortunately, they did. I would have been very upset if I had come all that way, especially after confirming the appointment, and not gotten the warranty portion of the work done. However, everyone was very courteous, professional, and the truck runs as well as the day I bought it.

This dealer and its associates were horrible and this honest. Went to purchase a used Toyota Sienna van from them and canceled the deal. Why, the dealer said they would do a complete 160 point certification and had hardly been done. Trash left in the cup holders, stains were still left on the upholstery, items still missing from the vehicle that I was told would be repaired and replaced. Ask for the Certification and Car fax report and was denied. They even tried to have me sign the papers prior of me taking a look at the vehicle. The original sales man was not even there when he said he would be. After refusing the deal because they had met their obligations (lazy) I was harass for canceling the deal until I left. I had given the sales man a five hundred dollar deposit prior to me picking up the vehicle and was told that it would be credit back to my credit card the next day that never happen, again this honest people. Two days went by and called several times to speak to someone about issue my credit back to my credit card and was strung along unit I had asked to speak with the general manager and was told that he was keeping my deposit due to some cost he had accumulated. Well that didnt sit well with me and called Toyota customer service for help. We will see.DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALER!!!!

My two teenage daughters and I went car shopping and were greeted right away by a sales representative. His name is Daniel Kort. He was very friendly, patient and knowledgable. I was not familiar with toyota autos, so he showed me many cars and explained all their features and compared pricing. We went on two test drives. We compared gas milage, financing rates and styles of cars. We spent about 4 hours. While keeping within my budget he found the perfect car for us. I bought a new 2011 corolla. We went to look at a late model Toyota Corolla and were shown a nice 2009 with around 46,000 miles on it. The ad said it was certified but when we sat down with the salesman he said it was certifiable and that it would cost extra to have it certified by Toyota. We thanked him and said we would think about it. Upon doing some more research we found that other dealers include any certification cost in their advertised price. We found a beautiful Certified 2010 with 23,000 miles for $1,200 less at another dealer.

The service that was supposed to be performed was not noted on the receipt, so it was unclear if it was performed. The check list of services also was not checked for that service. I think if I go there for an oil change and a tire rotation the completion of those tasks should be clearly marked not left blank. They seemed surprised that I questioned this but if you give a list I would expect it to be accurate. My experience was entirely satisfactory from start to finish (once I got past the baffling maze of temporary fence that rings the dealership). We bought a 2011 Toyota Siena from Toyota of Colchester. We dealt with two salesmen and the finance manager. One of the salesmen was Bob Stillman and I will need to get the other salesmans name but we had an excellent experience. They were very pleasant, professional and most of all, and unlike some other dealers, no games played. What I was promised in the emails and over the phone was what we got. Also, and this is how you can tell a good dealer and a good salesman from a bad one. After we bought the car and took it home we had to return for help. The attention and professionalism we received from Bob was the same high quality as we received from him before we signed the sales agreement. Unfortunately, many dealers and salesman, their attitude and attention to your needs changes after you sign the deal and he/she got the sales commission. Most of the time service is OK. On this last visit, I had some issues that were unsatisfactory. I brought my van in for the 25,000 mile service appointment. The main thing that needed to be done was a tire rotation. When I got my van back, the tire pressure alert light was on. I figured that the vehicle just needed to be driven for aboutn 5 minutes and it would go off, since the technician was supposed to have checked and adjusted the tire pressure. I called the dealer ans spoke to CLiff to see if there was anything different they were supposed to do to reset the tire pressure switch when they rotate the tires. He said No, but I could bring the vehicle back and they would take care of it. The service appointment already had taken up 1.5 hours of my day and I wasn't going to waste any more time driving back there for them to press the button. So I checked the tire pressure in all the tires, just to make sure that they were at the specified pressure before resetting the switch. They were not. One of the tires was 15 lbs. low on pressure. This was the tire that has continued to loose pressure since I bought the vehicle and I have to put air in every 1.5-2 months. I had asked Cliff about a month before if this tire was covered under the maintenance agreement, but he said that it was not. I would have to pay for a service appointment for them to check if there was a piece of debris under the rim which may be the cause of the slow leak. I had decided against paying for a full service appointment to check this.I called back and spoke to Al, the service manager to ask how the tires were rotated and if the technician was supposed to check and adjust tire pressure before rotation. He confirmed that the tires were swapped front to back, keeping the same side (not cross ways) and that tire pressure was supposed to have been checked and adjusted if necessary. So that slow leaking tire that was previously in the left front was now in the left rear position. I told Al about the low tire pressureAlso, my van smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which really bothers me. Lastly, there were dirty greasy black finger prints on the front of the glove box. This is the location the technician had to touch to get the wheel locking tool in order to remove the tires for the rotation.All in all, I was not pleased with this service experience.

This past July my airbag indicator light went on. It was determined I needed a the electronic harness replaced. Fortunately I purchased the extended warranty and it was covered. Each time I called to determine warranty status, I was told they would look into it and call me back. They never called. After a couple of days I had to call back. When I went to make an appointment to have the work done I was told the part was not normally carried in stock and they would call me back when it came in. I was not called. After a couple of weeks I initiated that call to be informed it was on back order and it might be ten days. They would call me when it came in. After a couple of weeks of no news, I called again to be told it was still on back order. After waiting again for a couple of weeks, I had my husband call for the status since I figured they were treating me so poorly because I was a woman. He called and was told the part was in and they would call the following Monday to schedule an appointment. The call never came. One week after the latest expected call I complained online, and called. I was told Cliff would call me the next morning. Which I didn't get a call. I called the following afternoon and was given a date the following week to have it repaired. I dropped it off on a Wednesday and received a call on Thursday to be told another wire was needed and I would be using the rental until Monday or Tuesday. I didn't hear anything from them until Thursday to say the car would be ready the next day, I would only have to pay for the five days rental car in excess of what was allowed by the warranty. I said that I would not pay it as it was never explained that would happen. Their reply was that they had to wait for a part and I wouldn't want to drive the car with a bad indicator light. I couldn't believe it! I had been driving from July to October with a bad indicator light waiting for a part so the repair could be made! This was the first time I had dealt with anyone other than Cliff. Although he was upset as well, he said I would not be charged. The following day I got a call at 1:00 to say the car was ready. They say your truck will be ready at 10:00 and you stand there untill 11:00. They could give one shit about my time. I went in for an check engine light and an emergency brake light that wouldn't go out and an emergency brake that needed to be adjusted. The check engine light was a bad oxygen sensor. $300 to repair, part in the stock room was bad and I had to leave the truck over night. Emergency brake light turned into frozen linkage, drums needing to be resurfaced, front calipers hanging up and needing replacement. When all said and done, almost $1300 (oh I had them change the oil while they were at it). The truck doesn't run any better, actually the idle seems a bit off. The emergency brake light still has issues, although less often at this point. The brakes don't seem to perform any better. They didn't seem under performing before I went in. When they turned the truck back over to me I had a load low pitch vibration. They took it back and some guy came out and said...."the guy with the muffler vibration it's all fixed." Didn't have one of those when I went in. So in a nut shell, performance was fair at best, question whether I really needed all the brake work and I think their rates are just way to high. And on top of it all, I had to pay $40 for a rental car because they had no loaners. Oh and that's supposedly a special rate they have with Enterprise. I can get a cheaper and better car for less from Hertz. Not sure what kind of deal they have with Enterprise. So overall, probably my last visit to Toyota of Colchester. It's not worth the ride or the money.

First and foremost, these guys did an amazing job with the service to my SUV. The Rav4 came in with a leaky transfer case which they fixed quickly and efficiently considering its 2 days work. The issues arose again in just 2 weeks time, but they handled it better than I expected. They loaned a car to me at no charge, went through every detail and found the crux of the issue with a crack on the gearing in the transaxle. It took a while with sending out for parts and transmission work, found other gaskets needing work. At the end of the repairs, they exceeded all my expectations with the repairs, free oil change, phone calls nearly each day keeping me informed and always friendly and informative. The salesman was very nice and easy to work with. The car we purchased was used and when we looked at it, it hadn't been cleaned yet. We had our small children with us (our first mistake) and all employees were very tolerant and kind. We had been looking at different cars and dealerships for a few weeks so we knew exactly what we were looking for and the price we knew was fair. They were originally asking over our budgeted price but agreed on the fair price after a few hours with them. The actually loan discussions were another experience. In their effort to "streamline the process" we were a bit steamrolled. We never signed a paper or discussed any price particulars until the very end. I wanted to use a different bank then the one they were offering and that was inconceivable to them. We were rushed at every turn. The used car we decided to purchase needed a minor repair and a good steam cleaning. But they insisted we take the car that day. While we were cleaning out our car, the loan manager separated my husband and I and communicated the Toyota loan offer. My husband dismissed him saying, "ok, cool" thinking we would discuss the options in a more formal setting and in writing. No. The manager took this "ok, cool" as a binding agreement and began the title documents without another word. We kept expecting to sit down and discuss final purchase price and particulars with the loan manager and with actual paper documents. This never happened. We kept getting fed the "we are SO busy line" and sat making small talk with the salesman while the loan manager completed all the paperwork with neither of us present. Since when is "ok, cool" a binding agreement? I had set up my loan and insurance using the bank OF MY CHOICE. When the insurance documents came in, the loan manager came over for only the second time to have me correct the lien holder. I said, "Excuse me? That is the bank of which we have chosen to take our loan." he said, "no, you chose the Toyota offered bank. Your husband agreed to the other loan. I have completed the title information in that bank's name. If you want to CHANGE it, it will take four months to be corrected." at this point we had not seen any numbers, agreed to nothing and an official title submission had been completed in our name? I can understand the intention of "streamlining" the process but this was ridiculous. We were completely excluded from the purchasing process. We had formally agreed to nothing and he had completed all the information in our name. The difference in the two loans was $428 and he could not conceive why we wouldn't want to use his product. If you want to be completely steamrolled, rushed along, and have someone else accept expensive loan documents in your name, while you sit 50 feet away uninformed then yes, I recommend this dealership.

I was looking for a replacement for a 97 Camry with 207K miles, but with better mileage. I had already decided on a Corolla Sport with a standard transmission, but was unsure if it would be used (2-4 yrs old) or new. I met with the salesman (Daniel) and he quickly did a search of Toyota's Certified used cars and found several, but all were automatics. The recent 0% financing offer on new vehicles started me looking into new Corolla's. I knew I could get what I wanted with a new car, but none were on their lot with standard transmissions. Daniel asked me to give him the options I wanted, and those I could live without to keep the cost down, as well as several color options. He did another search right away and found a few cars, but they all had "extras" that drove the cost above my limit. He assured me he would continue to search and find exactly what I wanted. I received a call from him a few days later - he found a car at a price that I could live with.Hurricane Irene pushed out my picking up the car until the last day of the 0% financing. Peter had all the paperwork drawn up quickly and when I looked at the bottom line out the door cost, there were no surprises, it was exactly what Daniel told me on the phone. Although I expected to only sign the papers and pick the car up a few days later, Daniel had the car prep'd for delivery that night - pleasant surprise. I was able to drive the car away that night.Throughout the whole experience, I never felt pressured into buying something I didn't want, even if the car had only a few extra options and increased cost slightly. You let us know about corroded wires or somthing not so significant but huge part which no way you could miss the condition (corrosion and leak)you would not mention. This was a very different experience for me as for the first time I did my research and inquiries online. From the moment I put a request in for a quote for the type of car I was looking for, Toyota of Colchester, particularly internet sales manager Chuck Marella, was very responsive as well as attentive to my needs right down to the very last detail. The quote they gave from the start was very competitive to many other dealerships I received quotes from, but the difference was the personal touch I received from Chuck. Once I got to the dealership and walked through the door, the feeling I got was one of neighborly almost family like. It made the negotiation process nothing like I remembered years ago when I bought my last vehicle. When all was said and done, I knew I had a great deal for both my trade in as well as the new car. When I went to pick up my car, even though the process of negotiating was over, the friendly atmosphere was not. Rav4 required brake service and oil change. Estimate for brake service was $600. As part of the oil change, I also specifically asked for the tire pressures to be checked. After service was complete, I picked up the car after 4pm (i.e., after service was closed) and drove the car home. The brakes (when not in use) were making a noise at speeds of approx 30mph or less. In addition, the tire pressure was set to 39psi, which was 10psi higher than the pressure listed on the sticker in the door jam and only 5psi less than the "max" pressure listed on the tires. I had to call the next day and again drop off the car so they could determine the brake problem. I also asked how they determine the appropriate tire pressure (i.e., the pressure specified on the tires or the pressure specified on the car's sticker). I was told sticker so of course I asked for an explanation as to why the pressure was set so high. I was also told I would get a call when they were done checking the brakes. I never received a call so I called at approx 1:30pm. Surprise, the car was already done over an hour before (yet why did I not receive a call?). Apparently, the rear brakes were too tight, which caused the noise. I also got a different story concerning the tires - they set the pressure 5psi below the max listed on the tires to help extend the life of the tires. I then asked what would happen if I loaded the car with the max passenger/cargo weight allowed per the RAV4 manual? Would the weight cause the max pressure to be exceeded? All I was told was the technician said the 39psi was fine. (Everything I've read on the web has said use the pressure identified on the car's sticker and the dealership has never set the pressure that high in the past).Also, I never received any apology for having to return the car to correct the brake problem. You would think for $600, they'd get it right the 1st time.

Well done Toyota of Colchester and Bob Stillman, in my opinion you are EXCELLENT! After visiting two other Connecticut Toyota dealerships, Toyota of Colchester earned my business. I first visited the dealership to get the AC on my 4Runner fixed after a failed attempt at another dealership. I immediately received a friendly greeting when I arrived at Toyota of Colchester from Bob Stillman, and was directed to service per my request, without the typical salesman hassle. Bought a used car from the dealer in March, with over 47k miles on it and was assured that the shop went through and checked the car out. Two months later (with about 49k miles on the car) I noticed that the brakes were shot, down to a very bare minimum.Called up the service department, was told that the inspection had been done at around 46k miles and the brakes were fine (according to industry standards). I told him the brakes were anything but fine, they need to get replaced immediately and that there is no way they wore down so quickly in two months and 2k miles. He stood by his mechanics report, not even offering to at least look at the car. When I asked him why the inspection was done at 46k miles when I bought the car with over 47k miles, he said they probably used it as a sales transport car or something like that. So any damages and abuse put on the car during that time is automatically my problem and not theirs? He proceeded to offer me a tiny discount for a brake service. No way bud, I'll take my business somewhere else.I've bought plenty of used cars, from large car dealers and small used car lots. Not all of them have been flawless (hey, it's a used car) but all (up to this point) have been functional and safe.

We came to look at a used vehicle and see if it met our needs. The vehicle was a mess. One of the employees was using the vehicle as his personal vehicle and the back seat was full of golf clubs, propane tanks etc. We couldn't see if our family could fit comfortably, and could not go for a test drive together. Under the hood it was filthy and difficult to see wear and tear.The salesman we talked with was very nice and apologetic even though it was not his fault, he wasn't the one using the vehicle. The experience with Toyota of Colchester was a pleasant one. The employees were all a easy to work with. Peter was friendly and very genuine. Joel and Chuck were very funny and very knowledgeable. Joel helped us out a lot, which included, going over the features of the new vehicle with us in great depth, which already has proven to be useful. The price of my service was more than twice what I expected. You recommended several other things that should be done, so I had them done. Now whether or not they were absolutely necessary I don't know. The handle that adjusts my driver seat should have been fixed, but when I got in to drive the car home, it fell off again. So it was never fixed. I wasn't happy, but the serivce rep said he would comp me on this handle when it comes in. Also, five days after my service, my battery died. I did get a new one from Triple A, but I was stranded for a couple of hours. I am surprised that you did not check to see if my battery was ok in this checkup, since it is the original battery, my car is 7 years old and it has 125K on it. The Triple A guy said that the battery could not even hold a charge anymore. And when I came in to you for this service, I told the service rep that my car was having a hard time starting. My car was in for service for 2 problems. Ramdomly it would act up. I would be driving with my grandchildren and all of a sudden the car would not go forward. I would have to coast to the side of the road. The engine would be going but the car would not go anywhere. The second thing that happens is I needed to put 2 feet on the brake and hold it as hard as I could to hold the car at a stop and it was still trying to go forward. The service men did alot of work on it, the cost was $793.00. The problem still was not fixed. I took it back 4 more times, because it acted up, they had it for 5 days, 2 days, 2 days and another 7 days. They did more work and did not charge me one more cent because they could not find out what is wrong with my car. All the men I spoke to in the service department were very nice to me. This dealership uses partial disclosure of sales and services as purposeful deception for achieving maximum profitability and taking unfair advantage of customers. Avoid Toyota of Colchester and any other Antonino group dealership. I had negotiated a prepaid maintenance agreement at the time of purchase. It wasn't until all the papers were signed and the money exchanges that I was informed that the maintenance agreement only applied at an Antonino Group dealer when I was led to believe that I was receiving a Toyota-backed, dealership wide agreement. I was also assured emphatically by the finance person that the only profit they make above invoice is $349, as indicated on their sales form. When I decided not to seal the deal, they reduced the price an additional $500. Complete deception. I can no longer trust anything they say. I will do everything in my power to never set foot in another Antonino Group dealership.

Both doors have had problems and I feel that a more aggresive fix solution should have existed from the get-co. Now I have a new issue with the sliding door and am being told it will cost $300 out of my pocket. One of the reasons I gave some lowere ratings is becasue I had to initiate several phone calls to both Louie and Allen and did not reeive calls back. I got the impression they would hope that I would just "go away". Overall thye salesman, Bob, did a great job. I wish I had read the paperwork a little better, when I got to the finance part. I did not realize that I agreed to Gap insurance, the policy was not explained, or if I even needed it. Only later did I notice this. I contacted Pete, to get a copy of the policy, which he did send, along with a copy of my purchase order, which I did not get the first time. Also, I was offered the Toyota extra care package at $1998, when I refused the offer, the price dropped to $349. Only after did I realize that the reduction that was offered, was a reduction in the montly payment, not the overall price of the package. I ended up being charged $1498 for the warranty, $90 for lost key protection and,$299 for paint protection.Be careful they still like to jumble the numbers at the end. Toyota cleaned house there a little while ago, because of stuff like this (complaining gets you somewhere believe me). I was also promised some Coupons with the copy of the warranty. Never came.

had recall work done on brake gasket for master cyclinder reservoir. brakes seem to work fine after fix. area around reservoir left dirty and covered with excessive brake fluid dripping from everything around the new reservoir. a little more effect on the service tech would have gone a long way to doing the job right and making a customer happy. dirty work always leaves doubt about the quality of work done. sorry but the job could have been done better. thanks

As 1st time new car buyers, we were nervous about working with a dealer. We've always bought used (mostly private party) & our cars (except the Fords) have all been American made, reliable & long lasting. So, when the need arose for us to get a minivan to haul my electric scooter, I asked someone I trust implicitly, my sister. She has both a scooter & a Toyota Sienna. She & her husband live in Tenn. & make the trip north (about 2,200 miles+ round trip) at least once yearly. They made the trip 4 times for family reasons last year. She has nothing but good things to say about her Sienna. Looks like we'll be buying a Toyota.So our decision about make/model was an easy one... then to decide new vs used. I researched both & found a new Sienna was the way to go. We were going to have to face our fears & go to a dealer... now which one... Again, we asked someone we knew & trusted, a friend from church. He spoke of a few he's worked with & which ones to avoid. His favorite was Toyota of Colchester, easy to deal with, friendly & priced fairly. We made an appointment to test drive one with sales rep, Daniel Kort.Daniel greeted us warmly (including our 16 year-old daughter), asked if we'd like anything to drink etc. & proceeded to find out just what it was we were looking for, wanting & needing from a new Toyota. He was easy going, laid back & had a sense of humor that put us at ease. (a good 1st impression) Daniel found one to test drive & explained its many features before we headed out. Both my husband & I drove it and found it to have enough power, good handling, a nice ride & very comfortable. (with more features than we were used to) Now for the scary part... talking price!At the dealership, Daniel proceeded to work with us. I'd done research before going & knew roughly what we'd expect to pay. He came within a few hundred dollars & explained everything so we were satisfied with the numbers we saw. He answered every question we had & then some. We worked the price $600 lower & then worked out a few additional details of what we wanted added on. We were ready... With the shake of a few hands, we'd agreed to buy a Toyota. Daniel introduced us to Peter, the 'financial guy' who went over all the details regarding the dollars & cents plus any options we might be interested in adding on. He was as friendly and helpful as Daniel had been. Insurance and registration were all handled at the dealership. That alone saved me so much time & trouble. Once the papers were signed, Peter returned us to Daniel who would give us the keys etc. Daniel introduced us to Cliff, the guy to go over all the details of what was needed regarding servicing, maintenance etc. since this was our first new car purchase. Then he headed out to FILL the tank. At $3.50 per gallon, I thought we'd only get a half tank, but the tank came full and ready to go. (that's $70 we didn't have to dish out... our first 480 miles were on them)All in all, I'd say our 1st new car purchase was quite the pleasant experience. I've never gotten behind the wheel of a car that only had 18 miles on it before. We drove it home that day & now have over 150 miles on it. I need to schedule an appointment for when to bring it in to get the few add-ons done (auto-start & paint protection). I'm quite interested to see if their service department is as friendly, helpful and qualified as their sales staff has been.I'll let you how it goes once we've worked with the service department. But for now, I'm a believer in Toyota of Colchester's sales department. I would definitely buy from them again. Two thumbs way up! A+

Have unresolved problem with steering wheel lock releasing without warning. Dealer says could not find a problem with locking mechanism, but would check with Toyota and call me. Service visit was on the 17th of February and have not received any feedback as of March 1.

The people at Cochester,Ct Toyota are great!!!Seeing some of the same people over and over, gives a sense of confidence in their service.They always make suggestions if services are required.They check all my questions and concerns.They LOCK my car as requested after service is complete They smile and love the goodies I bring them.Suggestion.....If you're gonna have kids toys in the lobby....take care of them.Don't have sloppy, broken toys that have no pieces to go with them...Supply washable coloring books and crayons or books for kids to read, etc...

Yesterday I purchased a scion XD from Daniel Kort. He was not only extremely helpful but his personality made it easy to select who I would be purchasing the car from. His knowledge on scion sold the car. He told me about all the benefits to purchasing a scion and why it would be a good choice for me being a first time car buyer. He utilized the First driver buying program and became the only dealer to actually help me purchase a car. He called me back to check on the process and if there was anything he could assist me with. My parents even loved him!! Not to mention the rest of the amazing staff at Toyota of Scion!! All the employees are in positive and friendly moods. One could tell there is a lot of teamwork in that building. My first phone call was to Jim Gravanis and I told him of my problem on a new vehicle I purchased from another dealership. He was very understanding and put my mind right at ease and told me not to worry and he would be able to help me. He put me in contact with his salesmen Daniel Kort. Daniel took a lot of time demonstrating the features of the two vehicles I was considering. When I finally made my decision Daniel kept in contact with me a number of times letting me know the delivery status of my vehicle. The vehicle was ready to be picked up at 6pm and it was a cold dark night. Even though Daniel started work that day at 9am, he did not rush me and continued to answer all my questions in a polite and professional manner. He went out of his way to even pair up my cell phone to the Blue Tooth feature in my vehicle and demonstrated the remote start. I didn't leave the dealership until about 8pm that night.I can't say enough good things about the initial experience I have had with this dealership. It was a pleasure to work with this Service Department. I called on a Friday afternoon & despite being booked they told me to come in right when they opened & they would check my brakes. Very quickly they assessed the problems, confirmed what needed to be done, along with recall work that was pending on the vehicle and assured me that they could have everything done within a few hours. This purchase was a pleasant experience. Everyone was helpful and courtious. They exceeded my expectations in all regards.Bob Stillman was especially good at his job. He was very helpful in answering my questions but never tried to push me in a direction I didn't want to go. He kept me informed all along the way about finding the model I wanted and retrievin it for me. He then kept me informed about the status of my additions to the car - heated seats and side moulding strips and took care of scheduling the work and providing me with a loaner. This rates as one of my best car-purchasing experiences.
