This is the second car that we bought from Thomas Kia. They are a very friendly bunch and will work with you to get things done. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. Mike was great to work with. First car from them was a Kia Soul and loved every bit of time that I had with that car. My car was taken to them for every oil change and service as will our new Kia Optima. This is an all around great dealership!!

Past experience with dealers left me uneasy, always leading to used car purchases. After working with Jose earlier this year for options on a new vehicle, my unease was put to rest. Ended up with a great lease deal on a new Sportage, also a new for me. Later this year, ended up needing another vehicle. After last experience, decided to go with Thomas Kia, and purchased a new Optima EX. I was totally satisfied with both the experience and the car. As bad news always comes in threes, my son's car also went 2 weeks after mine. Looked for a used car at a couple dealers, but then thought, Thomas! Great used car, low mileage Ford Focus hatchback. Jose scored a triple for good reason. Made the experience very easy and no stress. I would highly recommend Thomas Kia, for the courtesy, service and vehicles.

My experience has been horrible at this place. Aug 11th we bought the car I was in a fender bender and noticed the car has been in a previous accident. I was NOT aware. Paid for it to be fixed out of pocket. Took it to Tennessee The air and the breaks went out while we were down there. Paid to have just the breaks at that time because they told me the a/c was covered under warranty. But the time I got home 2 weeks later my axle broke. They fixed it. I had it back and 2 days later (today) the Windows will NOT go BACK up. And the door locks are messing up. This is the WORST car I have ever had and it was the only one I've ever bought off an actual car lot. Never once has Thomas kia of highland ever asked how to make my experience better. They dont care what happens after u buy their cars.

I bought a car from Kia and they tried charging me $3000 more than the sticker price saying they put the wrong sticker on the car. Every time I try to get my free car wash it takes over an hour. They gave me my oil change and forgot to reset something then when I came back they told me it would take five minutes and they were sorry they made a mistake but then after an hour they sent me to another dealership bc they said they didn't know how to fix the issues. When a sales man shook my hand his cigarette smell rubbed off on my hand and after washing my hands twice I still smelled like cigarettes.

Thomas Kia of Highland is an excellent choice for anyone looking to buy a car. The salesmen were very friendly, not pushy! They knew more about every vehicle on the lot than humanly possible. They were super patient with us as we probably test drove 10 cars in one day. The finance person, Jim, was extremely helpful. He was able to explain everything to us. Saw a vehicle I was interested in and spoke with Mohamed on the phone for 45 minutes explaining what I was looking for and price range. He listened and told me that the car I was interested in would not be the one I would like. He gave me 3 other options and pros and cons of each one. Never meeting the guy I could tell he was very honest, sincere, and in tune with specifically what I needed. I told him I did not want to drive 150 miles for a wasted trip and he assured me the vehicle he was recommending would work for my needs. He was right on the money! Could not be happier with this car and for the price I got I am very satisfied. The experience that I received at Thomas Kia has been the WORST that I have ever received to purchase a car. The two sales representatives that helped me at this dealership were Persa and Greg. I went in hoping to purchase a 2015 Kia Optima LX and when negotiating the price of the car, I made sure to specify that I wanted the price of the car before we did anything. They came back with a piece of paper that had four different options for me to choose from and each of them had three plus signs underneath the price of the car. The two sales representatives told me that these plus signs meant the title, tax and fees were included in that price. I asked a few times to be sure and each time I was told yes. So, since I thought I was getting a good deal on the car for the price they were giving me, I decided to purchase the car. Well, once I went to sign the paperwork, the total price was completely different ($2,000 more) and I was told that the title, tax and fees were NOT included in the price they were telling me. I still took the car, but I made sure to express my concerns and frustration before I left the dealership, and asked if there is anything they can compensate me for because I was wrongfully informed about the price; however, all I was told that there is nothing they can do for me except rip up the paperwork and act like nothing happened. This just added more fuel to the fire. Long story short, after a few more other obstacles with this dealership, I did decide to return the car, which worked out for the best. I ended up going to Southlake Kia and ended up getting the same car with added extras, lower miles, and a way better, lower price with GREAT customer service. I did end up writing the General Manager of this location and although I did receive an email back with an apology as well as a free service offer, I have no intentions of visiting this dealership again.

April 25th 2015 I purchased a Kia Optima Ex from Thomas Kia of Highland Indiana The wrong information was on the paperwork, vin # mainly. When the dealership contacted me a few days later about this, I went into the dealership the next day to have this corrected. Everything had to be rewritten with the correct information. Before I was contacted, I had set up an online payment acct. with Kia and obviously I entered the wrong information. It's been 4 days since this correction was made and the finance company (kmfusa) still has not received the correction. My payment is approaching and nothing has been done to remove the wrong payment information. Looks like my footwork isn't done yet. Why do I have to take matters in my own hands to correct this? That's up to the dealership to correct this, asap. This is my 3rd Kia Optima I purchased from Thomas Kia and my last!!!

As car buying experiences go and a Chryser/Kia owner for over 20 years, Thomas Kia is one of the better ones. My salesman Tracy and a number of other employees did a great job finding the car I was looking for. Being an "older" car buyer there was a LOT of electronic and technical issues to deal with and Tracy was very patient with me and took the time to be sure I understood most of it and even did a lot of it for me. I feel that they will be there to answer any further questions I may have and I know the service depart meet is excellent. Hoping to have lots of good years in my new little red wagon (Soul).

I inquired about a truck that they had posted on Cars.Com after two days of no reply, I received an email from a George Washington Jr. informing me that the vehicle was no longer available. I sent him a response thanking him and since i have received about 6 generic emails asking me to come in and look at the inventory. I replied to the first one declining the invite but still continued to receive the emails about every other day. I cannot comment on much else out side of that. but follow up and follow through was blank, poor sales performance. they were not looking at what I was emailing back. I wish them luck in the future I do not think negatively on the company nor its employees, just believe they can work better to improve the online sales side. Thanks, D.

Spotted a used car on a Sunday that was worthy of a second look. Went home and looked the car up on their web page. Price was good. I researched the web for like cars/equipment and decided that if the car looked and drove good in the light of day I would buy it. Turns out that the car had scratches along the side and on the hood. But all else was ok for the most part and if they would fix the scratches, I'd give them their asking price. Now for the trickery. The price online is not the price. Who would have thunk it? Seems that it should be. The price is $4k higher. This is supposed to be a trade in allowance of some sort. I guess if you give them your car you get their car for the price on line. I have no trade, so I have to pay more than the advertised price for the car. Not putting the true price you are selling your product for is deceptive. Folks that feel that they have to trick you to make a living have a special place reserved for them in the hereafter. I think the good reviews for Thomas Kia are a lot of baloney. Can't possibly be the case.

Visited Thomas Kia with my daughter, who made a purchase. Looked over the Sportage on the showroom floor while waiting for her to complete paper work. Returned a week later to take a test drive. Liked the ride. Jose Martinez was great to work with. The selections I had made from the on-line inventory had been sold - so with the help of Jose and Tom Seely - finally located a Sportage in our color choice and with the EX Premium Package. The vehicle is great looking and a fantastic ride. The UVO technology is awesome. Thank you for the super effort to provide the vehicle my wife and I wanted.

I went to Thomas Kia on a Tuesday night to look at a 2011 Town & Country that was listed on their website. When we arrived at the lot, we were quickly greeted by Tracy Martin, who got us the keys for the van so we could take a look. Once we got into the van (the key fob needed new batteries), we quickly noticed it hadn't been cleaned yet. There was crayon on the sides, and just general dirt and muck everywhere. Really disappointing, but we took it for a test drive and were generally pleased with it, until we cleaned the front windshield and noticed the rather large crack in the middle of it. Once again, something that should have been fixed before listing the van for sale. Did you think no one would notice? When we returned, we told the salesperson that we were interested in working up some numbers if the van would be detailed and the windshield replaced. We went into the showroom and waited while Tracy got some numbers worked up, and got quite a surprise when he returned. The cost of the vehicle had suddenly gone up $4,000 because we didn't have a trade! I was upset that they snuck this in on us, and told him we weren't interested in the van for $22k when it had been listed for $18k on the website. He then wrote up on a piece of paper:$18,000+ tax, title, licenseX_________________Drive HomeHe wanted me to sign it stating that I would take it home if they could offer it for $18,000, though we still had questions about the warranty and financing, plus the cosmetic work that still needed to be done! We refused, and when he continued to push the subject, we got up and left. I was absolutely disgusted by this tactic. We were clearly interested in the van and didn't need to sign our name to something to express that.The next day (Wednesday), I received a call from what I believe to be a third-party service review company. After sharing my bad experience with the service rep, he asked if we were still interested in purchasing the van if we could deal with a different salesperson. I agreed I'd speak with someone again, but would only deal with a manager. We disconnected with the promise that I would be contacted soon by a manager.The next day, I did receive a call from Daenan (I believe that's how you spell it), and he offered me the van for $18,495 with a lifetime powertrain warranty. I told him I would speak to my husband and call him back. Within a couple of hours, I called back to say we were interested, but couldn't come in until Friday night because my husband had physical therapy that night. He stated that was no problem and he'd see me then.On Friday afternoon, I got a voicemail from Tracy Martin, the original salesman that had caused me to walk out in the first place, saying that they took a deposit on the van that morning and the woman was coming in to pick it up that evening. I'm glad I was busy at work when that call came in because I may have said some things I regretted had I gotten that news from someone I was already unhappy with. I couldn't believe they had the audacity to have him call me! I called back and spoke with Daenan again and confirmed that yes, the van had been sold. I was incredibly upset. I had never been asked for a deposit, never called before they made the sale to confirm if I was indeed coming to purchase it that night. To agree on a price and commit the van to me and then sell it out from underneath me was bad business and just plain wrong! My husband and I decided to go by the dealership after work on Friday anyways to express our disappointment in how this was handled. I knew it wouldn't change anything, but I wanted him to know, face-to-face, how wrongly they had treated us. We got no remorse and an apology with no real feeling behind it. "That's the way it works sometimes" is all Daenan kept spouting off to us. I'm sorry, but that's not the way it should ever work in a properly-run business. On the phone, he said he wanted to earn my business, but it's clear to me that was never really the case. You cared about making a sale, but not about earning my business. There was no respect from anyone at that dealership, and I want everyone to know that they're only interested in selling you vehicle (no matter how dirty and banged up), but they're not interested in earning you rtrust and respect. There are a lot of other dealerships in that area, and I'll be making the trip to others in the future while I continue to spread the word of how awful an experience trying to purchase a vehicle there really was.

Took my senior citizen Dad for new car. The Kia Soul was the best vehicle for him to get into because he had a hip replacement. The sales person was nice and told us of an awesome discount that made the car affordable for my Dad. After the test drive I went and coordinated the vehicle with her that he wanted. She did a search found the one to get to the Highland location, gave me a quote and I put a deposit down on it. The next day I took my Dad on his 86th birthday to pick up the car when we went to pay for it, the price has all these add-ons to the price and the manager would not honor the price quoted to us. The price was almost $3,000 higher then we were quoted and he was rude and arrogant and did not want to work with us at all. It was like sorry you can just leave I'm not selling you this car for what you were quoted. We could not believe this treatment, my Dad was so disappointed. There is nothing good about this place! Watch out for false prices and jacking up the price for his so called "prep charge". This was a horrible way to treat a senior citizen who is also a veteran. BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP!!!!

i started on line just looking for fun really but when I saw the deal they had going $4,000 guarantee trade in I had to check further and I am so glad I did. the sales lady was nice very personable and just a joy to deal with . the general manager was nice friendly and gave us not one but two small piggy banks which doesn't sound like much but it showed his sincerity that we were there. and the finance manager we knew from a different dealership so we were old friends. the most important thing that I want everyone to know is I told them what my ceiling was for monthly payments and even though I know I was a pain they worked and put me in a new 2014 soul for under my ceiling payment. so I would say to anyone looking for a new vehicle at least drop in give the a chance I don't think you will be disappointed. and another thing they offered us water on our visits to them no dealer has ever done that to us before.......kudos Thomas kia

My wife and I had an incredibly wretched experience at a Thomas competitor in Merrillville, and stopped at Thomas Kia still really upset. We had bought a new Kia there back in 2000, and have been really, really impressed with their service department. Stan Adams greeted up (pointed me to the restroom since I'm a male of "that age") and showed my wife a new Soul on the sales floor. Polite, friendly, no high pressure, extraordinary helpful. To make a long story short, an hour later we drove out with a new Soul! My wife has wanted a Soul since seeing the hip-hop hampsters. I've been a Soul Man since seeing Soul Brother #1 back in 1964. We went to Thomas Kia after doing a lot of research online. The prices were very good and the warranty was a definite bonus. The salesman was very informative, but had no explanation as to why every single 2012 and 2013 used car on the lot had 2 different sets of tires. Not to mention that the 2 original tires were severely worn and had no business being left on the vehicles. I really liked the 2013 Hyundai sonata they had, but with the tire issue and the fact that they refused to come down on the price, we had to leave. I can't imagine buying a one year old vehicle and having to immediately drop several hundred dollars on tires in the first week of ownership.

I went to this dealership to look at a kia soul they had listed online for 15800. when i got to the dealership dionna approached my husband and i and asked if we needed help. when i explained why i was there she said they didnt have any kias at that price. i pulled up the website found the car and it was on the lot listed for over two grand more same vin number and all. she said it was because that was the price if you qualified for discounts. i explained to her that there was a different kia closer to me for cheaper and i was going to just go there. she insisted her kia was a plus model and that part of the higher price was because of pinstriping! really 800 more for a pinstripe?? (the car was a base model she had no idea) i drove forty five minutes to look at a car 2 grand more than what it was supposed to be so i went to leave. when steve approached me and said hed match the price and give me a good deal i agreed to purchase a vehicle. the deal was i would have ended up paying 15200 after taxes. i was there for seven hours dealing with this. so we talked and my payments they said would be no more than 300. i signed the paperwork and was talking to the finance guy. that guys office was seriously fifty degrees in there. i couldnt feel my hands or my feet when i left. i told him several times it was an icebox and they didnt do anything about it! he even had a fan on! after talking to him my payments were 346 a month and the car ended up costing me 19875!! and that was after a thousand dollar discount for financing through kia! needless to say i was upset! i also had to wait for them to buff out the scratches on the car with eight miles! it has now been 26 days and i have not even gotten any paperwork from them! my temporary plates expire in two days and they are still processing my paperwork!!!! needless to say im not a happy camper with this specific dealer and their team!

The only thing that I noticed was when I had an alarm installed, They should of showed me how to use all of the features. Joby did show me the basics but I had to read the manual which was hard to follow. and whoever installed the alarm, didn't fill out the check list in the manual on the last page. which tells what was installed. While in the market for a new vehicle I read several reviews and decided Kia was the car for me. The Optima was the car I wanted but now came the time to decide which dealer to purchase the car. I decided to start with Thomas Kia and I couldn't have been more satisfied. Upon entering the showroom Mark and Steve sat with me and after telling them what I wanted and then letting me test drive the Optima it was time to make the deal. Both were very knowledgable not only about the vehicle and its options but about the Kia Motor Company as well. I was treated with respect and didn't feel pressured by the typical sales pitches one may hear at other dealerships. We came to an agreement that I felt was a great deal and the papers were signed. After which I was then introduced to the rest of the staff from the finance manager to the service manager. Steve made sure that I was satisfied which included a follow up phone call and reassurance of satisfaction guaranteed. I was so satisfied with not only my purchase but the entire experience, that the next week I took another family member to Thomas Kia and she purchased a Soul which she is very satisfied with. Thomas Kia was the first dealership my Dad and I went to look for a new car. He is retired and on a fixed income but needed a reliable car and they had many options for my Dad to chose from! He drove the Sportage and was sold but when we walked back into the showroom he looked at the Soul although never thought about choosing that car, he was recommnded to sit inside to see if it was more spacious and when he did, he found it to be the perfect fit for him and was even more affordable. Joby helped get my Dad into a new Soul on his fixed income! Couldn't have asked for better help and care!! Thank You for not only fitting it into his budget but also fitting him with a car that is easy on his wallet with the cost of gas these days!! Josh Baker was our salesman, he did a great job from A to Z. Josh knew the product and could answer any question. I found him pleasant and he didnt pressure us into buying a car. Josh made it clear that if we did purchase a car his main goal was for us to be satisfied and happy with it. We wound up purchasing a Sorento which we absolutely love and couldnt be more satisfied. Ron took care of the finance aspect of the purchase. He made the process seamless and quick. My experience with Thomas Kia of Highland was exceptional. I live on the north side of Chicago, and refuse to deal with Grossinger but did try to deal with another dealer closer to my house, Berwyn Kia, with no success. While in that dealer and getting no satisfaction with the sales experience, I decided to call Thomas Kia to check to see if they still had an Optima that I had seen advertised on their website earlier in the day. I spoke to Cheryl Gallo, the internet manager, who checked their system to see if the car was still there. The computer did show it, but she went the extra steps to physically see if the car was still on the lot and available before I drove all the way down there. It was, so I let her know that I was on the way!Upon arriving at the dealership, Rodrigo greeted me at my car and and then let Cheryl know that I had arrived. Cheryl soon appeared with a gracious smile and let me know that the car was a little dusty from the lot, so it was in the back being washed before I saw it. It came from the back shortly, and I drove the car with Cheryl and decided to go forward with the purchase. Most dealerships that I have dealt with in the past made negotiations while buying a car very painful. Everyone at the dealership was extremely pleasant, patient and friendly during this process. The negotiations took place with sales managers, Rodrigo and Frank, since this was an internet sale. At this point of the day and after the first dealership experience, I had a pounding headache and they were very patient when I didn't understand some of the calculations that I was being presented with. Cheryl was there the whole time though, putting me at ease.After arriving at figures that worked for both of us, the financial process was very quick and painless since the rate was figured in during the negotiation process. I think I was only at the dealership for about 2.5 hours from the time I drove in to the time I drove away with my 2013 Optima EX.With all this taken into account, I would definitely recommend Thomas Kia and would make the trip to buy a car there again. Cheryl is definitely an asset to the dealership. She was one of the most pleasant people that I have ever dealt with at a dealership. She was honest and up front from the first moment that I contacted her. If you are in the market for a Kia, definitely start with an internet quote from her first and I think you will avoid alot of the hassle that comes with buying a new car and she will make the process easy and painless.Oh, and if you are one of those people that keep their car forever (I am not), they throw in a lifetime warranty for the powertrain!

He decided on Kia for several reasons and visited quite a few dearlerships before going to Thomas. I can say without question, he was treated fairly, and most important with respect. I cannot say the same for the Kia dealerships in Illinois and we live in Illinois. I just purchased a 2013 Kia Optima. I walked in on a Friday night at almost closing with a horror story from another Kia dealership in the area. I told Katie the story and told her what my terms where and if she could get me there we would be good. They were able to get me where I wanted. I took the Optima home and was back in on Saturday to set up the paperwork. They were friendly and really met the quick timeline I needed. They also gave me a good deal on my trade in. The only quip (which isn't a big deal) is that they wouldn't send any information about the car's price, trade in value, ect electronically or would not discus over the phone citing "because of the law." But when it came to showing proof of my military service and residency they had no problem accepting it electronically so they did not have to wait 2 weeks until I was back in NW Indiana. I just purchased my 2013 Alien Exclaim with Premium Package, and they couldn't have been nicer. I wasn't looking for one with the Premium Package, but they gave me a great deal below dealer cost! When I talked to Rodrigo over the phone, he said that he would hold the car for me, but they couldn't accept a deposit as it is against company policy. That made me nervous and made me think that they're just trying to get me in the door and get me into a different car. This morning I called to make sure that the car was still available, and they said they were holding it for me. They didn't throw any hidden fees at me and explained everything I had questions on. I bought the Premium Preferred Upgrade maintenance package that gives me oil changes, tire rotations, and such for 54 months at a great price! When I got to the dealership, they were washing the car and getting it ready. I don't know who "cleaned" the car, but the cup holders, middle console and inside of the doors had some dirt/dust on it. When I wiped my fingers in the cup holders, there was visible gray dirt on them. I did mention it to Katie who said she would have it taken care of, but it was forgotten in the midst of signing papers and what not. No biggie, but they should definitely talk to that porter on how to really clean. Kate was super nice and for being new, she was helpful despite not knowing some things. Steve, the Sales Manager was nice as well and matched my pre-approved financing. The financing guy was also pleasant and wasn't pushy about extended warranties. However, he didn't offer me the Premium Preferred maintenance package probably because I had turned down everything else but this I was actually interested in. They throw in 3 free oil changes when you buy a car anyway, but I thought the upgrade was worth the money. They offered to roll it into my financing, but I decided to pay for it outright. I was prepared to put money down, but it was not required, so I saved the down payment money so I can pay down my higher interest rate credit cards instead. There is no pre-payment penalty, so I plan on making extra payments to save on interest paid. I am in love with my Soul and am so lucky I found one! These babies are so hard to come by in the Alien color and options that I wanted. Thanks Thomas Kia!!

All he had to do was call us back. Simple communication. On a Saturday we went to Thomas to buy our Kia Soul. We had already test driven several at several locations. We had already made all our price comparisons, etc. We already had approved financing from our bank. Thomas did not have any Souls in Alien color so the salesman said he could call around and then make a trade so that the one we wanted was in Thomas' lot. That was Saturday. Closed Sun so nothing expected. Monday at 4:30 pm I called and talked to the salesman again. He said he had only gotten to work at noon and had just started calling. Really? He had a done deal just sitting in front of him Saturday. He could have made calls from home in his underwear. At the very least, he could have called me early Monday and asked if late Monday would have been okay. He blew this one big time. We bought one new, the next day, from another dealership. All he had to do was follow through. He never had to sell us anything. We were already sold. If it had been on the lot Saturday he would already have been spending his paycheck. They were nice enough, the store was clean enough, but the sales force needs education. Wow! This salesman must have another more lucrative job if he can blow off a done deal.

The 2 people I worked with was Sean and Mary Kay and I would recommend their service to anyone that asked. Mary Kay keeps in contact with her customers, she will also stand on her head to work with you. I met up with another customer of Thomas Kia who had just recently purchased a Kia Soul from Mary Kay and several days later when I went into the store and mentioned this incident, Mary Kay remembered the buyers' name and the car they had been driving. So right then I knew that Mary Kay was more than a salesperson, she cared about her customers and listened to what they had to say. Sean is the store manager and also a great person to work with.
