Eddie helped my husband and I buy a brand new Honda HRV. We loved the car! Sadly, one week later I was in a bad accident, but within a week Eddie was able to help me find not one, but two new cars in its place. Very grateful for everything he did to help us in our situation! He will help you get the best deal, and doesn't sound like the typical "pushy car salesman" in the process. :)

Buying the car was not too bad took a long time. When I bought it back for the protection plan (wax ,spray sheats, and put a little box to stop rusting) they dropped something on the car putting a small dent and chipping the paint. Then they said it is not there problem. So I have a new car with a dent and chip in the hood! I will never go back!!!

Kevin is the kind of salesperson every car buyer wishes they had, He was kind and considerate, giving us the respect and space we needed in making a decision. He was engaging with what we were looking for in our vehicle. We definitely felt relaxed around him, which gave us the calmness we needed to reflect on our decision before we purchased. It was well worth the hour's drive to find him as a salesperson. We already won more than $100 VISA card just in finding him as a car sales-person. Somethings you can treasure more than the dollar aspect of the deal, and getting to know Kevin has been one of those treasures. I hope and pray for only best for Kevin, and will absolutely being doing business in the future with him, as well as, sending him as many friends and relatives as we can. Why? Because I know they won't be disappointed when they leave. They will not have only found a wonderful sales-person, but they will have found a new friend. Glenn was also wonderful in the business office. He was what I would call a true Business Manager (Professional), as opposed to the Un-Professional "F & I Guy". If there was a survey from the dealership for the dealership as a whole, then I would have to give it a "rare" Completely Satisfied rating.

Steve Sendejas was our salesman....he told me he was recently promoted to Internet sales. It was apparent very early on why he was promoted. Not once throughout our conversation did I feel pressured. He was very knowledgeable about the product. He answered every single question I had with confidence ( I asked many questions ). I feel Steve has a bright future with Team Honda. My next vehicle purchase I will come to him first. Thanks again Steve!!

I went to Team Honda expecting to look at a car that I had called about earlier that day. I had an appointment with Stephen Whaley at 6 o'clock. When we got there at 6 we were told that Steven had left an hour earlier. After about a half an hour someone else came to assist us and told us that he was going to look for the keys. After about 20 minutes of waiting we try to figure out what is going on and were told that they have to get the manager to find the keys. Another 20 minutes goes by and then we're told that the car we had made an appointment to look at was not even there because it was supposedly being detailed. We comfronted the manager about it who was extremely rude and after arguing with him he told us that they would give us a really good deal on another used car. We looked at a Honda Civic which was $3,000 more at the dealership then it was online & weren't impressed. We waiting another 30 minutes for someone to come tell us that they would only take $200 off of the price & they would not finance it. Everyone at this dealership is extremely rude and unprofessional. Won't ever go there again.

We had an amazing experience at Honda in Merriville today. We test drove a couple different models, talked about what we liked/ disliked and purchased a new car. Everyone was considerate. The only thing we disliked was that the car prices on site were different from on line. That being said, the on line price was honored. Our car salesman was knowledgeable, friendly and did not come across as the typical "car salesman"

I found a car online and had some questions about the car. Kevin did an excellent job at making sure all my questions were answered before I made the 250+ mile trip up there. The process was very fast, so fast that they can sneak in a Theft protection warranty and never mention it to you, simply slipping it in with other papers to sign. I ended up getting the warrant removed and my money back, just be aware of this if it is something you don't want. I would still buy there again if they had another car I wanted.

Stopped in to see Steve Sender's, the internet sales manager. On the way in Steve called and answered questions we had on the cars. When we articles he had them both ready to drive worth keys in hand. We bought the one he was pulling out of the wash as we walked up. Their finance team was also extremely polite and helpful. Not only did they get us the best rate, they took the time to discuss different options and helped us stay in our budget. The whole process was very fast. Team Honda of Merrillville was absolutely wonderful. I was looking for a low-cost yet reliable used car, and Team Honda certainly delivered. Wait time was a bit long, but the dealership was very busy that day. I was very satisfied with the warranty offered for the used car, and they even worked with my less-than-stellar credit to finance. I worked with Steve Sandejas, and he was absolutely wonderful in helping me get the car I needed. There was no pressure to buy. He was simply friendly and professional. I would definitely buy a car from him and Team Honda again.

Let me start by saying that I don't like going into car dealerships; it's like you are a piece of fish at a Seagull convention.. Team Honda broke that mold.Went in to look at a cheap used car for my son. No pressure up sell. No look over here. Straight forward and down to Earth. When it look like we were going to have to postpone and further dealings, they didn't block the exits. Instead it was "give us a call when you are ready." We left - got about 1/4 of the way home, and they called to ask if the dropped the price and deal would it be workable...Yes! Deal done.Bug props to Kevin S. and Marvin W. - made me like car dealerships...at least Team Honda

My Wife took our 2008 Honda van in for an Oil change last Friday. They did a complete inspection and brought in the air filter and cabin filter to tell her the needed to be changed. She let them know she did not want to have those services completed. I went to the store picked up both filters to change myself. I changed the cabin filter without any issues. However, when I started to change the engine air filter I noticed two bolts missing. After I removed the remaining bolts I saw they were not missing but broken off in the housing. When I looked at the paperwork it never mentioned any of the above. When I changed the air filter last time all of the bolts were fine. If you want my opinion you should take your vehicle elsewhere for service!!!!

I bought a used car at the Team Honda store today and I could not be any happier with my experience. I had Kevin as my salesman and he was very professional and knowledgeable about the car that I ended up buying. They also made sure my car was in great condition before I drove it off the lot. Overall, it was a great car buying experience (which are hard to come by) and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a new or used car to visit this store and staff!


Joe Basile Lied About My Radio

If you're looking for a good experience purchasing a used Honda, DON'T shop here. Salesperson Joe Basile and his sales manager could clearly care less about honesty and integrity. In October 2015, I drove to the dealer from Illinois to specifically look at a 2005 Honda Odyssey to use as a second vehicle for transporting my show dogs when I didn't need my big truck. Made an appointment with Joe Basile and test drove the Odyssey. Discussed that the radio seemed to get poor reception and he assured me it was just the area and the radio worked fine. Purchased the vehicle and picked it up a week later - no radio reception when I started it up in the parking lot and after driving it around the lot, Joe was able to find ONE radio station. Joe then opens a compartment to show me an aftermarket USB/audio jack that had been installed and told me I could listen to music from my phone instead of the radio. Left the dealer and was not able to get radio reception the entire trip home. Called Joe and asked him to look into it so the service department could get it fixed. Never heard another word from him, despite leaving numerous messages. So I called the Sales Manager who told me they sold the car "as-is" and despite Joe's representation the radio worked fine before I purchased it, they would do NOTHING to fix it. And he got downright nasty to boot! Joe Basile outright lied to me and hid the fact that an aftermarket device had been added to the car before I purchased it. This dealership could care less about honesty and service after the sale. The problem was easily fixed by a local audio shop for $175 by removing the defective aftermarket FM transmitter that had been installed and replacing it with a new USB/Audio Input unit that was plugged directly into the radio with a wiring harness, not the antenna. SHAME on you Joe Basile and Team Honda!

My teenage daughter and I dropped into Team Honda, just checking inventory for a used car. We honestly, didn't anticipate finding one in within our price range. However, we were surprised! First we were greeted by a very helpful, friendly Sales Associate (Eddie Escalante). He understood what we were looking for, our price range and was very helpful. Ultimately, we found a car that was in our price range, test drove it, had our own mechanic check it out and left with a used car. Service was good from the time we talked in until after we left. Would leave zero stars if possible Walked on the lot to look at a used vehicle that was marked on their website as a honda certified used vehicle, and was marked as a certified used car on the lot as well. Was told by salesman the vehicle was mismarked as being a "honda certified used vehicle" also was told the listed online price was incorrect as well. They also have no explanation as to why the prices and information changes. Tired of dealers like this that advertise one thing, and when you question them on it, they shrug their shoulders and say.."oh well, I dont know" I do NOT recommend this dealer and will be purchasing elsewhere

Very simple. I did all my homework on line and in person to find what was a fair value. The salesman was honest and straightforward - no messing around. The initial - and final - offer came in so far below my "fair value" research that I purchased the CR-V on the spot, even though I was planning on delaying the purchase 3-6 months and just stopped in to check out was was new on the 2015 model. I could not be happier with how I was treated and with the deal I was given.

I recently. Leased a new honda civic from team honda. From start to finish everything was great. My salesperson was very helpfull with helping me pick out the right vehical for me. Once i picked out the vehical I wanted, it was a quick trip threw the finance office , where I added a service package to my vehicals contract. I literally don't need to worry about a thing with this car. I brought my civic in for its first oil change today (8,000 miles) and the service department took care of me and got me in and out in a hurry. I Highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a car.

This car dealership is the most underhanded that I have ever seen. They keep you in the car appointment forever trying to add on various packages to your new car purchase and you leave exhausted and frustrated. I do not feel good about my purchase nor will I ever buy Honda again because of this bad experience as this has tainted Honda's reputation for me. Snakes and crooks work there.

Was at team Honda looking at a used car. We had to go find a sales man. Once Steve D. Whaley helped us (I might add he was not at all what I would call professional towards us) we decided to purchase the vehicle. We went inside and agreed on the price that HE told us they were asking for the car. I did not haggle or try to talk them down at all. I felt it was a good price. We went it to do the paper work and that's where it all went down hill. Steven kept walking away from his desk and talking to a coworker about what they were going to get for lunch. We could hear all of the conversation over the mini wall. Very rude and unprofessional in my opinion. He then told me that the paperwork was going though and that I should go find somewhere else to go sit (I was paying in full in cash that was in my hand). After he disapeared for about 25 minutes and not acting at all about us, he walked up to us with the sales manager and said they couldn't sell us the car. I asked why and he said that the price was too low and they had made a mistake. They raised the price by 3k and told me I could purchase the car for that. I had already signed paperwork saying I was going to buy the car for less and they refused to try some sort of middle ground with me at all. Over all, very terrible experience with Team Honda and I would not recommend them to anyone. Its very unprofessional to go back on a deal that's been signed and have been handed the keys saying "we will just run you though finance and you`ll be on your way"

From start to finish the staff was unprofessional, deceptive, and rude. I had made an appointment, but couldn't get the car to start. I decided to call and ask to reschedule for later that day as I would need a tow truck to tow the car in. The woman who answered the phone when I called to reschedule my appointment was condescending and did nothing but interrupt me because she thought she knew better than I did what was wrong with my car. It took 5 minutes of arguing with her before someone else took over the phone and realized that I had a real issue with my ignition cylinder. The service adviser was clueless and had absolutely no clue what was going on. It took a call to my dealership in my hometown to finally figure out what was wrong with the car, and why Team Honda's repair quote was $300 higher than the quote from my dealer back home. I was specifically told that upon completion of the repair, my keys would operate all locks and my ignition. I called and asked about this before picking up my car, and the same woman said she went out to the shop and asked, and that the keys would work on the locks and the ignition. I got there, and that wasn't the case. They couldn't be bothered to re-key my ignition to my doors, and LIED about the reason, stating it was against Honda recommendation to re-key an ignition cylinder. This was a bold-faced lie, which I only found out after calling my Honda dealership in my hometown. I now have to pay additional money to have MY dealership fix Team Honda's incompetence. This dealership is shady, deceptive and only care about the money lining their pockets. Customer service is a joke, and they have no desire to ensure customers leave satisfied with their service. I would rather PUSH my car back to my dealership in Grand Rapids from Northwest Indiana than patronize this business again.

We went to this dealer because we have purchased a Honda from the previous owners (Harbor), Team(the new owners) mailed us a card that said they would offer us the base MSRP price of our model as a trade in, if we were interested. We went in and found a sales person and started to ask questions about the deal, he told us "Well, did you read the fine print" with a chuckle, I did but found nothing other than it stated Base model MSRP which I understood clearly wasn't going to be the price we originally paid (everybody has to make money to stay in business), the salesman than told me each mile on the car would go against the Base MSRP price, so I just said "why don't we just cut the crap and see what we can do" he then told me they mail them out just to get people in the door, it worked, but I then lost respect for them and should have went home. I told him what we were looking for and he showed us the model we were looking for on the sales floor, a 2010 when the 2011 models have already came out. The color was exactly what we did NOT want, although the salesman told us he could give us a great deal on it because it was a 2010, he went to the managers office and came back with a price of (get this...) MSRP that was on the window sticker! well after negotiating for over 4 hours we left with the vehicle and a "we owe" for some work they promised. When we returned for the work they promised they sat us in their waiting area and after a couple hours they came and told us they need to keep the vehicle and gave us a loaner car, when we returned 2 days later we found that they did perform the work they promised but also damaged our brand new vehicle. The Service Manager acted like there was nothing wrong with it and finally the Sales Manager came out and agreed there was a problem and they would correct it, 3 visits later the vehicle wasn't fixed and they sent us to Illinois 3 times to have someone else attempt fixing it. Finally we had enough and brought the vehicle back and wanted someone to explain what they are going to do since we've spent already countless hours of our own time running around. At that point nobody wanted to talk to us and said we'd have to speak to the General Manager, after we requested to speak with him, a young lady came and said he was "out" and you will have to speak to him later. By the time we got home there was a message saying "we can't do anything more for you". When we went back again the Sales Manager simply told us "Ya know, that wasn't even our vehicle, we inherited it from Harbor", Like it was a piece of junk! We paid over 30K for that vehicle. Throughout this whole ordeal we remained calm and never raised our voices and truly expected that the damage would be fixed since they caused it, 5 months later, I give up. Team Honda, you won. This was the worst sales experience of my life and I will let everyone know.

Well where do I begin? I walked into Team Honda with the expectation that they would diagnose and possibly fix my Honda Accord. After waiting for nearly 2 hours, my car's inspection was completed with an added note that they during their work one of my wheel bolts had "fallen" off. My service representative said that it was not their fault that this had happened. Seeing that she was both powerless and irrational, I asked to speak to the manager, who said the same thing. Bringing up the liability of their workmanship on my car and explaining yet again how breaking my car is their fault, he decided to fix it (though he said he completely trusts the work of his mechanic and that it was not their fault it broke). Back to the waiting room, I sat for another hour and a half until they finished working on my car. Wasting over three hours of my weekend in the dealership, I have vowed never to return. I understand that dealerships are notorious for having insane prices when it comes to services and sometimes you are stuck using them (especially for specific parts). I received an estimate that was beyond reasonable and in fact, somewhat insulting. After talking to my mechanically gifted friends and explaining my cars problems, they were shocked to hear the amount quoted for the work. My friends estimated that it would take about 4-5 hours to fix the 3 problems that were found by the test. I might not be a car savvy person, but I definitely know that 4-5 hours of labor does not cost over $2,000. The people working at Team Honda are both rude and irrational. Customer service is obviously not one of their priorities so do not expect any type of personal/friendly interactions when you arrive.If you live in NWI, find another Honda dealership because the services provided at Team Honda will only disappoint.
