I've been a faithful Surf City Nissan customer for 6 years. I have purchased 3 cars personally from these guys. My family has also purchased two cars. The sales team works hard to earn your business. They beat these lenders down on rates to get you the payment you need! Ricky was so helpful. His partner, Hai, helped wrap the deal up and made sure I was happy. The service department will NOT let you down. They always work with me. I never feel like I'm over paying because I take my car to the dealership. I get genuine Nissan parts and service every time, they offer me free rides in the shuttle & they have a really nice waiting area with refreshments if you decide to wait. Surf City Nissan is the cream of the crop. If you feel like you deserve more than status quo, head to Surf City Nissan!

I'm sorry to hear about everyone's so called bad experiences. It's hard to believe half of them as this is my 3rd car from surf city Nissian. My most recent as of yesterday is a 2017 Sentra Sl. This is my second Sentra and i also have had an Altima from this location. They've been amazing at getting me extremely low interest rates, service packages and etc. I would say go in and ask for Andrew he got me my newest lease and is amazing. As for the service department there is no one like Robbie.

Melissa was the key to getting me thete. She was very professional and persistent without being annoying. She does a great job. Jose and Andrew gave us a great deal and beat a neighboring dealer's price by a significant amount. i was pre approved but they beat my credit unions interest rate. i don't take reviews online too seriously because people can be vindictive and get mad because they did not get their way and retaliate. I know this because the reviews where I work that are negative are usually not truthful. As of this date, I am happy to say I had flawless experienceand LOVE my new Titan XD Diesel! Thanks guys. You rock!

I came to purchase a vehicle and was attended by a young man that seemed very sincere in trying to help us. We kept getting interrupted by his manager for the young man to run errands while he was attending to us (to move a car, fill another with gas, can't remember the last one). We waited in the cold for over 30 mins. They (managers) could not recognize they have a potential sale here - who trains these people? Nissan?

This dealership is a scam and Fraud and the most disrespectful people Ive ever met! After you buy your car they treat you as a piece of trash! When I bought my car, they pushed me hard to buy Pumper to pumper extended warranty but they never delivered it! From day one my breaks make noise, went back to them, they claimed that they fixed it, but no changes and instead they tried to convince me to believe that this is an organic break pad that noise is normal (while theyre smiling to each others)l!!! My car stopped accelerating, went back to them explained to them what could cause the problem, but they insisted to replace the transmission with a rebuilt one so they can charge Nissan Corporate as much as they could! Of course that didnt fix the problem because basically the problem was just a bad relay!! Another time, they called me telling me that Im eligible to refinance my car, I went there they hided my car key for 3 hours trying to convince me to buy another car but when I refused and insisted to have my keys back, the sales person became very disrespectful and told me that I wasted his time and they dont pay him hourly! Every time I go for service, they tell me that something need to be replaced and its not covered by the warranty and when I check with other Mechanics, they say nothing wrong with what they claim that need to be replaced.

Surf city Nissan is the biggest fraud dealer there is in orange county do not go there and service your car they will brake something in your car tell you its not working right just to make you pay a huge service bill. i took my altima in on the 28th of june because my transmission wasnt working right it was covered in my bumper to bumper warranty and they changed it , when i picked up my car my AC was no longer working at all but before i came in with the car it was working just fine blowing cool air , when i picked up the car my ac would only blow hot air and then the guy tells me we need to fix your air compressor it will cost 1,000.00 when it was working perfectly fine before i took it in there service people broke it just to charge me cuz i had a women take my car in my mother and wanted to charge her to repair something they broke ... i will never trust this dealer again i would hope people stop taking in there cars to get fixed there there nothing but a fraud ......

This place has a horrible service (starting from the sales manager Cesar Perez who was really disrespectful). I bought my car a year ago from this dealership, they over sale services but never deliver what it was promised. My car came with 2 keys, one was given to me and the 2nd key was suppose to be delivered on a later date. After following up with them many times, I came to the dealer to talk to the manager and the only answer I got was TO STOP THROWING A FIT ( exact words from the SALES MANAGER) for something I purchased. I was very offended by his treatment. I will definitely follow up with the owner and make sure this situation doesn't go unresolved. I will NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP TO ANYBODY. I really hope the owner of this dealership changes management. At First I though it was only the service side that was lacking good customer service however it is WHOLE COMPANY STARTING FROM MANAGEMENT.So hopefully they can make a change and improve their service by changing personal (WITH SOME KIND OF EDUCATION AND VALUES)Good luck

BEWARE.I originally leased a 2014 Frontier from this dealership and was mostly happy with the overall experience. I decided a truck was for me and wanted to exit the lease to purchase either the same truck or a new one, but to finance/own it. I like to be loyal so I didn't think twice about going elsewhere, considering Hooman is only 5 minutes from my house versus 25 minutes to here. This dealership seemingly helped me out with this transaction on 9/14/15.On 10/15/15, I log into my bank account to balance my books since I had my first new truck payment due 10/16/15, and discovered that I'm overdrawn and learn that on 10/6/15, my account was auto-drafted again another payment from Nissan Finance for my previous lease contract obligations. I make numerous calls to NMAC and the dealership to inquire about this issue. After many calls, NMAC confirm that the dealership improperly attempted to payoff my leased truck after they purchased it from me. Prior to this, Ernie Dare, Surf City's Finance Manager very much tried to help me on the phone with NMAC to come to resolution, while attempting to find fault with NMAC. He was very aggressive towards NMAC, but there was no resolution. Because the dealership did not make the proper method of the payoff payment to NMAC, NMAC rejected the payment and sent the check back to the dealership. In this interim, my account was drafted again on 10/6/15 because the original payment amount expired from 10/4/15. On 10/12/15, Surf City made the correct method of payment to NMAC based on a new payoff.. However, this amount did not equal the amount of my monthly payment drafted. The dealership did confirm that they did have a credit for refund to me, however, this amount was aproximately $135 less than the amount that I was drafted. I went into the dealership on 10/16/15 to further discuss these issues, and now, the same verbally aggressive approach from Ernie to NMAC, was then directed to me because according to him and their records, they upheld their end of the contract and it was my responsibility to seek resolution with NMAC. They would only refund me the amount they had on file which was less than the total amount I was drafted from NMAC, and he deferred to NMAC as being at fault. After this visit, I made another call to NMAC. They tried to retrieve my closed account to process me a credit, and then a refund for the hassles I've dealt with. Unfortunately they could not do so because the account was paid off and closed. They suggested thereafter for me to open a claim with Nissan USA Consumer Affairs to investigate the dealership, and so I proceeded to do so.On 10/19/15, I received a call from Evelyn Rodriguez, Customer Relations Manager, to inquire of my incident because she did receive contact from Nissan USA Consumer Affairs regarding my claim. She seemed very concerned of my situation and very apologetic, got my details of what happened, and then said she will look into the matters and have it resolved by the end of the week and will contact me by Thursday 10/21, and if not, Friday 10/22 by the very latest, but for me to call her should I have any more questions or concerns. I called on Wed 10/20 to follow up regarding the original amount that Surf City confirmed they were refunding me, because upon one of the last conversations with Ernie, the week prior, they would get a check out to me via overnight once he got a manager's approval. I had not received anything yet so I made attempts to contact Evelyn. I left a voicemail on 10/20, and 10/21, with no return calls. I called during the day on Friday 10/22, again going straight to voicemail. I hung up and call the receptionist and request to be transferred to her, and not a voicemail. Somehow I got through right away, so take it for it is. This was a very cold and unwelcoming phone call. She simply told me the manager only approved the amount they owed to me, but had no details whatsoever. I inquired about the check that was originally agreed to me, but she had no information and needed to inquire within the dealership and would get back to me. She assured me she would call me back by 5pm on that Friday, just as she originally promised from Monday. Guess what, no call.Today, 10/23/15 I receive two checks from the dealership. One originally dated 10/13/15 for a lesser amount that was confirmed to me by Ernie. There was a second check dated 10/19/15 that did include the remaining difference, which does total the amount of my extra auto-drafted payment. In the end, after many terrible calls, service, a visit to the dealership, a briefly overdrawn account, I was credited fully what was owed to me, despite being told by the dealership, that I wasn't. I am a fan of Nissan vehicles, but I will never have anything to do with this dealership again, and possibly Nissan. I do not wish this experience upon anyone so please use caution with this dealership.

I was looking for a Nissan Versa,Surf City Nissan was advertising on the inter net the Versa for $11,998.00.I called and spoke with Reilly who "was not a salesperson" but would help me. I was quoted at $13,300 for a new Versa after Reilly checked with a "sales manager" Went to the dealer with my wife to buy the car, Reilly was conveniently out to lunch at 3pm. The Sales Manager David Ortega acted like a Mafia "Made Man" (I grew up with "made Men in Brooklyn)refusing to honor the price, yelling at me and my Wife and telling us to leave. It was a Bait and Switch.I am not 5 minutes away when David calls me with a used 2014 Versa for what we wanted to pay cash for.We returned, David showed us the car, said "only 15,000 miles on the car which actually had 15,900, produced a Carfax showing no accidents, but there is paint over spray on the window on the drivers side door.I bought the car, but I will never, ever return to Surf City Nissan.I have an appointment with a different Nissan dealership to inspect the car, and an appointment with a Lawyer.I would not recommend Surf City Nissan to my worst enemy, one day David will pull his aggressive act on a True "Made Man" and face the consequences.

My husband and I recently purchased a pathfinder platinum from surf city Nissan. This is not our first time dealing with this dealership either. We had previously bought 2 other Nissan vehicles from them in the past. Ever since this new management took over this place has completely gone down hill. We never had a problem with our other 2 purchases which is why we chose to go back. First of all we were told they would do the paperwork for us to register our vehicle through the state of Illinois as my husband is stationed in California on active duty military orders, well that fell through because not only did we receive California plates in the mail we had to do all the paperwork ourselves once the CA DMV told us the dealership obviously had no idea what they were doing and filled all the paperwork out for CA instead of IL. We didn't just buy the baseline model Pathfinder, we purchased the Platinum 4X4 which is a pretty penny and not only were the DVD headphones and remote missing from this "new" car, but they never gave us the roof rack crossbars. So I called to ask them how we get them from the dealership one person said yes we can give them to you no problem but you have to call back on Monday and talk to our new car guy who will get them to you so I call on Monday, and then the new car guy proceeds to tell me basically we are SOL after we were told by NIssan USA to contact the dealer for the crossbars. I have since opened a formal complaint on the dealership with Nissan USA all over a set of crossbars. And don't even get me started on the fact our "new" car which is what it was advertised as not only did we find someone's wallet in it but we also found someone's dirty disgusting socks as well. This dealership has gone to garbage and I have made it very apparent to anyone who asks where we got our nice looking vehicle to steer clear of them. These new people they have working for them have done it in for them and lost our loyal business.

Typical underhanded tricks at evey turn to get more money out of you with very misleading or incorrect information. They use all the tricks you read about in on-line articles about bad car dealers. Salesman was a nice guy, but told you what you wanted to hear when asking questions. Either he was really stupid or borderline criminal. Dealing with the rest of the staff was downhill from there. If for some insane reason you go to this dealership .... Question everything they tell you !!!!!!!Question EVERYTHING they are charging you for. I consider myself a pretty good car shopper and read lots of articles about the tricks and these guys still managed to get an extra $400 added to the total cost ... My bad, but their was of presenting the information was very misleading ....Did I say Go Anyplace Else .... beware, this company owns several So Cal Nissan dealerships, so do some research and stay away from ALL of them.

Buyers BEWARE--- Fear of MORE retaliation from David Ortega, finance manager. How LOW CAN HE/THEY GO?? The customer service there after the time, stress and duress of the sale gets a 0-- star I had to cancel my service appt I made for the next day. Fearing he will do more damage to my car, over a Nissan customer survey!!! Sales Rep ALI was amazing- Found me the perfect car with all the options! My finance process was grinding as expected. Love my Roque 2015 and paid $30K I came in for a free car wash on 1 20 2015 and a tank of free gas, I was promised in writing, on back of David Ortega business card. I was there 2 and half hours! (not worth it) David actually printed out my Nissan survey, asked me outside (yes I was unaware) he proceeded to wave it in my face and yell and threaten me because two items I did not give HIM A 10 RATING--xxx I thought he was going to HIT me! --- David Ortega is Narcissistic xxxxxxx. After a few minutes of this abusive treatment he went inside and I ran to my car. Wait theres more>>>>Only to find it was on - - - for gas- ( not even 1 mile left) I had 22 miles to go, when I arrived. THEY TOOK ALL MY GAS OUT!!! Just how LOW can they GO???? I could've been KILLED in a accident, Again xxx Im sure this treatment comes from the upper level, David gets abused by his employers and so he can verbally abuse the buyers. Who spend $30K or more at that dealership. He is insane, he should not be in that position with the public. Yes I am writing this even though he has a my personal information and I DO fear retaliation I will never go back there and I recommend other people to see other Nissan dealers. Yeah all that for $25.00 in gas If I see him near my car or me I will call the police! I will keep reposting this-when they take it down. 1/21/2015 I went to another Nissan dealer for a clicking sound --found my rear brake cable was disconnected! OMG all the inspections from Manufacturer to dealer and no one noticed that it had a brake issue. Another near death issue-- Or did David do that also. Now in a safe rental car

Extremely frustrating experience with this Nissan dealer. I went through an insurance claim for repair of my car. I went down there to pick up my car after being told that the car was ready to go, I ended up waiting 1.5 hours before I finally left in my car. Manager of the Service department, Efrain Perez, asked me if I would be willing to pay 1/2 of the price difference between what my insurance estimated and the actual cost of the part. They needed to get an approval on the price difference before they can release the car and they were experiencing some issue faxing the related docs and such. Simply unbelievable. This should have been worked out BEFORE telling me that the car was ready. Both the Service Agent and the manager had this 'don't care' attitude the whole time I was there. I also needed to order a new set of owner's manuals as part of my claim. It took the service department to get them a total of 4 months. During the time, I always had to call to get an update on my order as they never gave me follow-up calls. They ordered a wrong manual even though I had called them twice to make sure to receive the right one. I had to keep going back there to discuss this issue because they kept screwing up. I am so tired of dealing with them and have absolutely no desire to go back there.

My experience at your place was a nightmare. I live 60 miles away from Surf City Nissan and I had multiple conversations with Alan and Mark (Sales Manager) for a 3.5 SV Nissan Altima that has been sitting on the lot for over 200 days. We agreed upon a price on Friday 10/11/13. I have it in writing over text and called and confirmed. Saturday 10/12/13 Rob the Internet Director called me and confirmed my appointment. As I met Mark and Alan, very nice people and we did the numbers and I had everything ready to buy the car. As they ran my credit and we are about to sign paperwork, Mark goes the finance department made a mistake and it will be $1000 more. I asked him how is this my fault, he said it is not. They did not honor the price that we had in writing (we initial the sheet also) due to Rob or the Finance people trying to add another $1000 on the price of this Altima. I said no and left. I get a text from Mark said he talked to general manager and it will go through with the initial deal. I already drove home and it took me 2 hours to drive back home. I said fine I will come on Sunday 10/13/13. I talked to Mark and we confirm it on Saturday night. Sunday comes I get a text said to come at 12pm. I am on my way and I get another text said the deal will not be honored and he apologizes for the inconvenience. I have never been pulled and pushed like this before. Mark said Rob or someone pulled the deal but not before I was already on the 405 freeway and on my way. I then ask for the general manager name and Mark says it is Larry Smith but he does not know anything about it. However in a previous text it stated that the general manager said it was okay. Mark seems like a okay guy and very honest so this is probably a mistake but he said he is quitting because if this incident. I do not know if that is real or not. Two managers Cesar and Rob the internet director made the car buying experience a mistake. I have never been treated like this and will be very vocal to future customer to be very careful if they are looking at your dealership. I would like you to be aware of this situation.

These guys are not only crooks, forging documents, dishonest credit applications without customer seeing it and the idiotic, unprofessional attitudes. The GM Larry doesn't care about true customer issues, he say's "I don't give a at#%!, "You don't know who you are messing with"! His employee Tom D'Aquila threatened physical hurting after being confronted for him blurting out loud so that everyone can hear our credit issues and personal business. I made it clear they would not forget me as I will be coming back at them with a lawsuit. They thought I was the typical pissed off customer who threatens when upset. I'm glad to say, a lawsuit is on the way. My attorney has submitted a demand letter and soon after we will be happily going to court to expose these idiots. I have never been happier in executing a well deserved suit. We have over 22 pieces of evidence. BE SMART AND AVOID THESE CROOKS! THEY PRETEND TO BE VERY FRIENDLY WITH A FAMILY ATMOSPHERE, BUT SOON AS A PROBLEM ARISES, YOU ARE WORSE THAN A ENEMY.

David basically offered me a deal I couldn't refuse. My payments now are only $20 more for a 2013 (old car was 2008); and the new deal includes maintenance and service plans! He bends over backwards. He makes sure you are taken care of, from the finance to having things taken care of by service or parts department. I highly recommend this Dealership and David! Although I wish more emphasis was given to the option to purchase "cooling off" time. I was in a hurry, they knew this, and when it came to signing it was all a blur. I really really miss my old car. I wish I hadn't traded it in, but I'm an adult, nobody forced me to buy the new car. I wish I had the cooling off thing because I really miss my old car. I will still come to this dealership when i want to replace what I bought (which will probably be next year) and I will go when I have plenty of time and buy something like my old car.

I will still come to this dealership when i want to replace what I bought (which will probably be next year) and I will go when I have plenty of time and buy something like my old car.

A nightmare- a terrible nightmare. Last week I received a price for a 2012 Frontier Pro-4X that was pretty good. It wasn't the best but they said they had the exact truck I wanted. I went there and was told that, "Well, we don't have the truck but we can get it". OK- that's fine (LIE #1). We then talked about price and the salesman, Alan, made a hard pitch for Nissan Financing even though I had Credit Union pre-approval. He told me that because I had negative equity on my trade-in the Credit Union would never finance my car (LIE #2). I called the Credit Union and they said the dealership was wrong and attempting to strong arm me. I should have left then but I didn't and that was my mistake. The salesman said he'd have the truck for me that afternoon (LIE #3).I left to go get my wife and the "convenience check" from the Credit Union. My wife leaves work early and we get a call indicating that the truck won't be at the dealership until the next day. OK- so that sucked. I then asked the salesman for the "out the door price" so I could tell the Credit Union. He quotes me a certain amount and I tell the Credit Union. The next day I'm excited to get my truck! I go over to get it and am told by a new salesman that the "out the door price" was wrong because the previous salesman subtracted my $5000 down payment. (LIE #4 and a HUGE ONE). OH MY GOD. I could not believe it. Finally, they bring a new salesperson who works us and works us until we finally acquiesce. He tells me I can get a free "hat" and that the dealership will put in a GPS system (2012 Frontiers don't have one) very reasonably. I calm down (my wife is still livid) and we leave with the truck after 5 hours. The next day I call the dealership about getting my GPS- they give me the Service Dept. who then gives me the Parts Dept. I talk to a very knowledgeable guy who quotes prices and says I need to come in and pick out my GPS as they range in price from $170 to $420 and the highest price GPS has a lifetime update from Garmin. He says there is a mount that costs $110 dollars and that the labor is about an hour.Today, I go over and when I get to the Parts Dept. there is a guy there who says, "What? A GPS? We don't even have those anymore - that was like 5 years ago (WHAT??? LIE #5). I tell him I talked to someone in his department and they were on the website. So he looks it up and says, "oh yeah- here's one" I ask him if that's the one with the lifetime updates. He says "lifetime updates? They don't make those". He then gets the rudest guy of all- the king of rude- Ted Lopez the Parts mgr. who says , "we have them but its $110 for the mount, $420 for the wiring (WHAT??) and the cost of the Garmin and there is NO LIFETIME UPDATING" (he spoke to me like I was an idiot and that was LIE #6). At this point they offer my free hat and one of my 3 sales people tells me to wait and he'll talk to the parts department. After 20 more minutes this Ted Lopez comes out and says, "OK- $838 is the best I can do and it does have a lifetime update". I told him to give me a copy of the quote and I left. (Never did get the dumb hat!)I WILL NEVER GO TO THAT PLACE AGAIN. I am 56 years old and I have never, ever, been treated so poorly by a car dealership. I contacted NISSAN USA today and told them I don't care about the free car washes and oil changes- I'll go anywhere else for service.Follow-up- NISSAN USA calls today and is horrified by the story. They tell me they will call the General Manager and explain what their concerns are and he will be calling. The result? I get a belligerent and aggressive message left on my answering machine from a Ken claiming to be the General Mgr and saying, "I don't even know what the problem is but call me with your questions". ARE YOU KIDDING? No wonder the employees act like they do. Why don't you get the story from NISSAN USA as they promised you would? I will go on every website I can and tell this story. DO NOT GO TO SURF CITY NISSAN. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Bought brand new Xterra. 6 hours marathon is little too long however. Probably just to make you tired and more agreeable. The car would not start within 24 hrs. on Christmas Eve December 24 2012 which was really trouble. The salesman arrived to help us and gave us a ride to home. He was not obliged doing that at all. It was not his fault. On Dec 26 2012 I just left the key from the car at the services department of this dealership because I had to go to work right away. And I picked up the car at the dealership in the evening. Great guys for sure. I was pretty harsh but who wouldn't?

I enjoyed most of my experience at Surf City Nissan. One thing that was disappointing was my test drive only because it was very short. I didn't feel that I had enough time to get a feel for the car. The sales rep was kind and patient and the finance rep was friendly and made the transaction quick and painless. I took the responsibility of researching the car of my interest and others in the surrounding areas so I knew exactly what I wanted. This helped me to not feel pushed and I did not have to depend on the sales man to answer my questions in a biased, sugar-coated way. In the end, I bought the car and am enjoying it

Marco is honest, professional and helps you understand everything about the vehicle. I couldn't ask for a better person to work with. Marco and your finance department went way above and beyond to make the deal happen. I could not be happier. Please give Marco and your staff a pat on the back. I love my 2013 Nissan Altima from bumber to bumper. I definitely will be returning to see Marco at Surf City Nissan for any future car purchases and have already recommended him and your dealership to my family, co-workers and friends. My fiancand I came in to get an oil change on his Nissan Frontier. We had purchased the truck 2 years ago from same dealership. As the truck was serviced, we were approached by one of the managers. They knew the warranty was about to expire on the truck we had and knew the history of our troubles. They crunched some numbers and got us a great deal on a brand new xterra. We only spend a little more a month but we got a brand new vehicle, new warranty, and smile. Great service all around from this team and We will continue to come back.

I took my wife"s '04 XTERRA in for an oil change and Mike told me he would ask Al to do a bumper to bumper safety check. He found a trouble code in the vehicle's computer that was caused by a head gasket allowing coolant into a cylinder and also externally leaking. The head was removed and an improved gasket was installed. Because the head was removed, Mike and I agreed to also replace the plugs and belts (air, steering, and alternator). No labor charges for the extras. Work was performed in a timely manner. Vehicle was delivered when promised. I know a fair amount about car repair and I appreciated their patient, detailed explanations. My wife was also very happy because they cleaned up her XTERRA and made it look beautiful. I have always had great experiences at Surf City Nissan and would highly recommend it.

I purchased the vehicle from Surf City Nissan/HB Nissan12/27/10. I purchased the extended warranties from them as well. I had problems from day one. The break would squeak and they told me they checked it out and there was no problem, drive it for a while and if the problem continues bring it back and we will throw in a free oil change.I said it is not right but I purchased the vehicle any ways and asked them if there was any problems servicing a VW at Nissan dealer and they said no problem if we can not fix it we will take down the street to the VW dealership to repair it. I thought great they will take care of me. My mistake i took the vehicle back in March to do the oil change and have them look at the breaks again beacause the problem is still on going, they did not want to honor the free oil change and still said there was no problem with the breaks. I had to agrue with them to cover the oil change witch they ended up covering. Then 2 weeks latter a check engine light comes on, again we schedule a service with Nissan and they informed us that we do not have the tools to read the error and for us to take it down to VW. I schedule a time to go to VW and dignose the problem and inform us the breaks are almost gone and in need of changing. Another lie from HB Nissan/ Surf city Nissan. To fix the check engine light problem which Nissan Warranty does not want to cover ,will cost 400 dollars. My deductible is 100 dollars. I think it is reasonable from them to cover the300.

They were so courteous and completed the job so quickly I was shocked. My car was washed and ready to go in no time at all. Even better, I had printed a coupon out for a reduced price, I was sure there was a catch somewhere. I was totally shocked when not only was there a reduced price but there was no cost at all!! I was merely browsing for a possible new Nissan Titan and explained this to the staff on hand when approached. I was given a no pressure complete breakdown of all the options on the various models of trucks and the factory incentives they had running at the time. After crunching some numbers the dealership was able to pay me OVER Kelley Blue book for my Ford F-150, give me cash back in hand to pay off some of my high interest credit cards, pay for $4000 worth of aftermarket rims/tires/lift AND work a new finance deal where I was still paying a lower monthly payment! The whole crew was pretty great, not that the time buying a car is ever fun, but I got in and out pretty fast. When I have brought my truck in for oil changes or tire rotations they have been helpful to give me a loaner car for a few hours. Bottom line is I recommend them for any Nissan purchase. My wife traded in her Ford Explorer for a Maxima and loves her car ten times over. My brother's wife liked her's so much she got a Maxima for herself. As a sidenote she closed the garage door on the back bumper and put a deep scratch down the whole thing. She brought it to the dealership and the crew got it fixed so its invisible for a fraction of the cost of an autobody place. I could not believe some of the other stuff I have read in this forum, but it sounds kind of fishy to me, like it might have been written from some other dealership or something.. I couldn't believe some of that other crap I read.-Ryan D

To: Whom ever wants a great deal and or experience! HI my name is Nikki and I had the best experience ever! I didn't have a trade in worth more than I owed and not to mention I had less than perfect credit to boot. After visting 4 other Nissan Dealers I became pretty depressed and the idea of getting a new car quickly deteriating. A family friend heard I was looking to get rid of my current vehicle (headache) and offered some caring and much needed advise. After a quick conversation I felt optimistic once again. I contacted Surf City Nissan and spoke to Scott Harnish, Internet mgr, super cool guy who litened to me, so I made the appointment. Well he lived up to his promises and I ways quickly on my way in my new car. I would refer my mother to Scotty & Surf City Nissan because he's one of us and to make matter even better they all had the same understanding attitude too! I cant wait to go back for my free first oil change. Take my advise and choose a dealer that isn't rude and old fashion. This dealership was one of the most comfortable and welcoming businesses I have stepped into for a very long time. All of the salesmen as well as the employees who are in the service department are very friendly and reliable. You can tell that they love what they do, it shows in their work and how they interact with eachother and their clients.Robert Ryland was the salesperson who assisted me with the purchase of my vehicle. I was extremely hesitant and uncomfortable with such a big purchase and wanting to make sure I made the right decision. I explained to him exactly what I wanted, reliablilty, low maintenance and of course something that fit my monthly budget. The best part was, he actually listened and helped me choose something that fit my wants and needs. He also did a great job making me feel comfortable throughout the whole process.Thank you Robert for your time and effort and for making this process a comfortable one for me and to all of the other employees at Surf City Nissan for making a business feel like home!

The van is what my wife wanted, tried to convince her to buy a new van. We had a free oil change with purchase and just had itr done. Quick and efficient with no surprises. Thanks Again, Kenova

Our initial contact with this dealership was very good. We worked through a deal on a stock Versa which my wife liked alot. It had 20" chrome rims and low profile tires, and a leather interior, which she really likes. We were not told that these pieces were aftermarket and would not be warrantied. We bought the car new with 101 miles. The paperwork makes no mention of the warranty being transferred to the aftermarket dealer. About 2 months after the purchase, one of the wheels had a problem and went flat. The dealership refused to stand behind the products even though we had purchased not one, but two extended service contracts. These contracts clearly state 2 things:1. Maintenance plus plan (Gold), page 3, item 11 states: "This agreement provides tire road hazard protection...This agreement provides protection against damage to (wheels and )tires, caused by roadway debris such as potholes....."2. Nissan Warranty Manual states on page 39: "What Nissan will do (bold print) If a part or accessory to be repaired was originally installed by an authorized Nissan Dealer( in this case Douglass that preceded Surf City, Surf City purchased their inventory)it will be removed and reinstalled after repair at no charge for parts and labor."We were sent out to a wheel shop for repair, charged 150 dollars which we had to pay to get the car back, and left unhappy. Four months later the same thing happens to a different wheel. Same refusal to stand behind the product. Same 150 dollar charge. At that point we asked that these wheels be removed and more appropriate size wheels and tires be put back on the car. The dealer refused and promised that his wheel shop would call us and we could have an outside deal done " at cost". That meeting became heated and uncomfortable for us and for every other person in the showroom who clearly heard every word. We left, unresolved and of course the "wheel guy" never called. Last weekend , 14 months after purchasing the car, a third wheel failed.Road service was performed by the closest National brand tire dealership.( We now have moved 450 miles away from Huntington Beach for employment reasons so contacting Surf City was not practical) They discovered that 4 inches of chrome had delaminated off the inside of the wheel and caused an unrepairable leak. (Chrome wheels cannot be rechromed after they delaminate because it pits on the remaining surface and the chrome will not bond.) With 3 out of 4 wheels now damaged we were advised by the local Nissan dealer (who was very helpful to the extent he could be) to get Nissan Corporate Customer Service involved, which we have. Most, if not all Nissan dealerships in the US are privatley owned so the final decisions are up to the dealership, according to the Nissan customer service rep. The rep was very good, but if the final decision is up Surf City, we are not hopeful for much. We could be wrong but.... at this point stock wheels and tires would be better and acceptable. We will see how Nissan stands behind their product, but at this point, I would probably say you should avoid Surf City Nissan.

Terrible sales and customer service practices. They have made false promises but do not deliver after the sale is over. I purchases a Nissan Murano from them. They got me in the door by quoting an ultra low price. When I got there, they said it was a mistake and gave me a higher price, but said they'd make it up w/ other things (free cargo nets, 2 free oil changes anywhere, etc). After the salesperson (Sam Anderson) said he sent the next day, it ended up taking 2 months and multiple calls and emails to the manager to get them. Now that I've hit 4k miles and want my oil change, they are reneging on that as well (despite the fact I have an email from them saying they'd pay for it anywhere). Below is the back and forth responses from them through the Better Business Bureau where they basically have given me a big F-You (btw, BBB has been the only way to even get that as they refuse to return any phone calls or emails). In the end, beware as these are horrible people and a systematically corrupt place.Complaint Description - Posted 11/1/2010 9:29:35 AM I question Surf City's sales and customer service tactics overall. Starting with initial inquiries to vehicle, they quoted us the wrong price to get us in the door. When we got there, they did not honor this price, but promised us other things to make up for this. These promises included free cargo nets and first two oil changes for free. It took multiple follow-ups with their head of sales (Fred Anguila) and dealership manager (Larry Smith) to finally get the cargo nets resolved - the sales person said he'd send them out the day after we purchased the car, but it ended up taking ~2 months to get resolved. Since then, we have hit 4000 miles on the car and would like to take it in for an oil change and are having the same problems of no response. We have emailed our sales person (Sam Andreson), then followed up a few days later with a phone call. A few days later, we have tried leaving a message for the manager (Larry Smith). It seems once Surf City has your money, they stop paying attention and simply ignore their customers. We would like this oil change honored by Surf City, but at a different Nissan service center as they said upfront this could be honored anywhere. We would also like our next oil change to be honored hassle free when the time comes.Complaint Summary Ever since sale, have been very unresponsive to follow-ups (e.g. promised cargo nets, 2 free oil changes) and unpleasant to work with.Resolution Sought Provide me with the 2 free oil changes as they had promised upon sale of vehicle. I would like them to honor this oil change at a different Nissan service center than theirs (they said it was fully transferable). In general, would like to have emails and phone calls returned (sales person Sam Andreson, head of sales Fred Anguila, and manager Larry Smith have all been equally unhelpful and at times rude).Additional InformationDate Problem First Occurred: 7/1/2010 Product or Service: Purchased a new Nissan Murano LEModel Name or Number: Nissan Murano LEDate Purchased: 6/5/2010Order Number: 01367Amount In Dispute: $70.00 Company's Response Company's Initial Response - Posted 11/02/2010surf city has honored eveything promised to Mr.Chan. Consumer's Rebuttal Consumer's Rebuttal - Posted 11/07/2010If Surf City honors 2 oil changes at a dealership of our choosing, as indicated in this response ("We can honor them at another dealer"), and indicated in an email we have from time of purchase, then I would be satisfied on this request. However, when I last spoke to dealership (JP), he emphatically told me he would not honor at another dealership. For record, our standards are not extraordinary. We've simply requested a response from our salesperson (has not responded to emails or calls for 3+ months), and living up to promises (e.g., oil changes honored anywhere, timely delivery of cargo nets and car manual, resolution to issues with our entertainment system). None of those things have been solved timely (we've been trying to get an oil change for 3 weeks now) and getting a response is like pulling teeth. We have records of email after email we've sent without response as well as initial emails of what are now empty and false promises. We challenge them to produce any records of responding promptly or good customer service! Regardless of this outcome, we will review on blogs to warn others of this business' poor practices and work to have them removed from Amex auto prog Company's Final Response Company's Final Response - Posted 11/10/2010Thank you for your kind words! We purchased a vehicle in February 2010. The initial process started out fair but, once we committed to buy it went downhill from there. We were told one thing and another happened. We wanted to finance through our credit union, I was told that they were online with them and it would be no problem. I received a call from the finance dept. the following Monday and was told the loan was approved through the bank they worked with. When I questioned that I was told that they don't work with ANY credit unions. Next, I found a $499.00 extra charge that was not agreed too. I was promised a refund by Ken Heinsohn, the finance manager. When the refund did not happen I called and was never able to speak to him and could never get a return phone call. In the end I spoke to Nissan directly and after 6 months was refunded the $499. This is one dishonest dealership. We are now in the market for a second Nissan and will stay as far away from them as possible.

I received a flyer of 20% discount on the service from this Nissan service center. I brought my car in for a maintenance service. I was suggested to do a comprehensive package that is $1500 without given me the options. Once I found of the options, I ended up paying $500 for another service package. The 20% discount couldn't be used because the packages "were already discounted". Hence, I felt the flyer was just a marketing tool to lure customers to them.On the same after after having the service done, the maintenance sign lit up. Opening the hood, I found the battery had white powder along the metal parts, when it was supposed to be clean as indicated on the service detail. The coolant liquid was nonexistent to visible eyes. Did they forget to refill it after having it flushed? A missing cap to one of the white bottle (name) was found upon opening up the hood. Had I not open it, I would not have known that they lost it. I asked the service specialist of why I was not informed of this missing cap and he said he forgot. He states the part would arrive 3-5 days because he had to order it. It's been 8 days or 6 business day and the part has not arrived.I thought by bringing my nissan car to a nissan service I would get a stress free experience. After going through all these experiences from one service, I doubt if anything was done for my car.I do not recommend this Surf Nissan car service to anyone. They will cause harm to your car.

Absolute HORRIBLE used auto buying experience....Typical car dealership! Some 'optional' products were purchased during the transaction and after some buyers remorse, decided I no longer needed or wanted them. I called the dealer, only to find out that these 'optional' products were no longer my choice but a requirement as a part of the transaction. Tried my absolute best to call and speak to reps regarding the products and expressed the fact that I didn't need the product, they REFUSED...that's right refused to remove them and mind you, I hadn't even handed a check over for the car I purchased or received my vehicle for that matter and I can't remove 'optional' features?!!? Called in spoke to Ken, at any rate absolutely rude. Was difficult to get a word in edgewise, without him self-asserting the fact that I could not do anything in my power to remove these features. While in the process I came to realize that I over paid for the car...in the process of financing the car at my credit union, the vehicle was blue booked, again didn't have the car in my possession and I'm already upside down! When I approached from the standpoint that financing would not be possible because the kbb came in lower than where it should be, I got a price 'break'....wow what a huge favor they did me. To all you out there my only piece of advice, do your homework and really know what you are signing before you sign and who you are dealing with, but best of all...DO NOT show up to this place

We had been looking for a new vehicle for weeks. We visited several dealerships and we were getting really tired of the sales pressure and the run around. We ended up going to Surf City last Sunday and met Chad. We had already driven the Murano at another dealership, but Chad went over all the features with us again on the car. We did not know about half of them because when we went to Connell Nissan the just wanted to push us into a deal. We got a great price on our new Murano and we love the car. The entire staff was great. I would recomend them to anyone.

Stay away from this dealer! Being my closest dealer, I have actually, patiently tried to have my car serviced there several times. BIG MISTAKE. I don't know why I went back after the first time.During my last visit, I went in for a simple car inspection. I have a 2004 NIssan Maxima and it runs awesome. However, the "check engine" light came on so I took it in. They wanted $104 to check it. So I left and came back with a coupon I found for 100 point inspection for free. They told me they will check the 100 different things but not the light. Meanwhile, my car is running great. And since I had a coupon I decided to get the free inspection anyway. This dealer quoted me more than $4000 in services!! and marked many of them in RED indicating I needed immediately!I couldn't believe it. Out of those $4000 it included $600 to just change my spark plugs! What a Joke.I have found an awesome autoshop since, they checked my car for FREE and allowed me to come back at a different date when I had the money I needed. It turned out I didn't need not even half the items the dealer indicated. I did need some new parts that were wearing down, and I got everything taken care of for $335.My car is still running great.Like I said, I tried Surf City Nissan several times, and every time I received horrible service. (Even in the past I had to go back several times to fix the same thing they didn't fix right the first time).Plus, all the people there have an attitude like your just a number.

This place scams with their fiance! Two weeks after they told us it was approved , cashed our 1000 dollar check, they called us and told us if we didn't come up with another cosigner or more money in 24 hours they'll confiscate the car!. This place is awful to business with I'd rather buy off the street then go back to them !
