I am very displeased with the service dept. less than a year ago I went for service they recommended several repairs which I had. Cost $200. 2 days later lights were flashing so I went back. $850 more dollars. This week I go back for service and filters/brake shoes. $212. Get up this morning and my car won't crank. It's a 2009!!! Stay away from there.

It had been a while for me to look into buying a new car, and I was hesitant to have to deal with all of the haggling and back and forth that I remembered. I was pleasantly surprised when it only took two different talks (of maybe 3-4 minutes apiece) for the people at Sunny King to agree to a price. Very easy to work with if you come in honestly and reasonably. I would definitely recommend anyone talking to Sunny King about their next purchase.


Refuse to stand behind HRV! Avoid!

Avoid this dealer! They refuse to stand behind the new HRV they sold me. I purchased the vehicle on October 24th and began having accelerator issues less than 16 hours in. After several days at my local Honda dealer they said that is was manufacturing defect which they initially thought was the throttle bottle but later realized it was the PCM. After finding out that there was a major issue with a brand new car (only 24 miles when purchased), I messaged my salesman Chad the following message:"Hey Chad, sorry to text you so early but I couldn't sleep because of everything I've gone through with the Hrv. They've made multiple attempts to fix the car and now ate saying its a substantial fix with the throttle body. This has been a nightmare to go through. The many phone calls and trips to the dealer. After sleeping on it, I would either like a refund and my car back or a brand new working Hrv just like the one I thought I was getting."At 12:13pm, not hearing from Chad, I send him the exact same message again. After roughly 45 minutes, Chad finally responds with the following text."It out of my hands from here ; I've made the gm and service manager aware ; maybe you can talk to one of them a out everything ; it's not that I don't want to help you but there's nothing I can do"Disgusted at that point, I inform my father who immediately calls to speak with Dan (manager) at Sunny King. My dad tells him that I'd like a new safe, running HRV like the one I thought I was getting or a refund and my car back. He lets my dad know that he doesn't have a car like mine and can't replace it and that he can't refund my money back. Absolutely shocked that Sunny King whose main line says, customer satisfaction is our #1 priority. I've not at all be satisfied and feel that I've been scammed out of $20k+. My mother was excited as was I when purchasing the new HRV thinking that I'd have a great car that would last me years and then I'm sold a car with a major defect. At that point I'd spent a total of 143 minutes on the phone with Honda (Corporate, Sunny King, local dealer) in total and about 4-5 hours making trips to the local dealer. According to the lemon law, the car technically has to be in the shop 30 days, I just don't understand how a company and dealer can't stand behind their product, I feel cheated and that I've been wronged by Honda. When researching rights and looking over the contract, Sunny King Honda states "The purchaser of the vehicle described herein understands that it may have suffered damage during production, transit or while in the control or possession of the seller. There are no warranties of merchantability or fitness being made by the seller to the purchaser as to repairs of such damage." In other words, we can sell you a lemon/bad vehicle and take no responsibility for it. I find it also bizarre that many dealerships offer a 7 day exchange policy but Sunny King does not. After the issue started, I began wondering if Sunny King was aware of the issue and did not disclose it as the vehicle did already have 24 miles on it. At the time of purchase, the salesperson also failed to go over the vehicle inspection checklist with me and never mentioned an extended warranty. The local dealer now says that the HRV is "fixed," but having a major fix on a new car shouldn't be happening and makes me feel very unsafe and uneasy about driving the vehicle. I have made numerous attempts to resolve the issue with them however Dan would not return my call and Linda says that her rep won't let her do anything. When purchasing a new automobile avoid Sunny King and look somewhere that will stand behind the automobiles that they sell.

I leased a 2012 Honda Civic from Sunny King Honda in Oxford, AL. I went into the dealership to try and have my previous vehicle repaired and when they gave the diagnosis it was apparent that I would be better off getting a new car. The folks here where very helpful and answered every question that I could throw at them and got me in a new car that was very affordable. Every time I have gone back to the dealership for service they have been friendly and very efficient. I would highly recommend this dealership to other customers. You will not be disappointed.

It all started when I attended JSU in the early 80's. Sunny King dealerships were well known for their outstanding customer satisfaction. In 1982, I purchased my first Honda from Sunny King. It was used and I had such a great experience with that car, that even though I had moved almost 2 hours away from Anniston, I went back to buy my 85 Accord. Flash forward to 2014 when I had been driving a few other brands and decided I would again want a Honda (my 5th). I said I would shop around closer to home. OK, I did. I shopped the big corporate dealerships. I felt like just a number. My best experiences have always been from family dealerships. So after visiting 5 Honda dealerships closer to me, I made the drive to Anniston. Howard Reid was still working there, along with Linda Benefield as the Service Manager. Well needless to say I made an offer based on what my research and other dealers were saying. Well Sunny King, with their lower tax rate and doc fee made the deal even sweeter.But I guess the best part was when Howard officially handed over the keys and said "Welcome Home".Since the purchase, I will only use Sunny King for my service. People ask "why do you drive almost 2 hours to get your oil changed or for service?" My response is "unless you have experienced the Sunny King experience you would not understand!"

Buying a new car was not something I was looking forward to. I was actually just looking around at my options to purchase in a few months. Being from Birmingham and not that far from Tuscaloosa I had quite a few dealerships to choose from. In narrowing down my selection or rather my wife's selection none had what she was looking for. I found a car on line at Sunny King and e-mailed Frank Roehler, their internet sales consultant, about the price. Frank contacted me back the first thing the next day with the price. My wife and I were very satisfied with the price quoted and went to Anniston to look at the car. The thing I dislike about buying a new car is the high pressure tactics used by some dealers. We got absolutely none of that from Frank. We felt like we were dealing with a good friend not a salesman. We drove home in the car that day and my wife loves it! We will certainly put Sunny King and Frank on our short list of people to recommend to friends who are in the market for a car. Thank you Frank and Sunny King.

I not only got a new battery in only 45 minutes time, without a scheduled appointment, but also covered under warranty even though it was 3 days past my expired warranty date. Excellent communication. Great price. Fabulous car! Very happy with the '08 Honda we purchased. Since we both work full time and have a 1 year old baby, it is very hard to get out and look for a car. We found one we loved online at Sunny King - but it was 2 hours away from us. Frank worked with me over the phone to get the car to a price we agreed on and had it delivered by a wonderful couple who showed us EVERY feature the car had to offer. The paperwork was ready for signature and the transaction went seamlessly. Just cannot say enough great things about this dealer or the fabulous car we purchased. Will definitely continue referring friends and family to this dealership and plan to use again for our future car purchases. I came in the dealership looking to purchase a newer car. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. I have never purchased a car all by myself and I was scared but everyone there made the buying process so easy. I also return for the service of my car as well. Everyone in the service department always are so friendly and explain things to me in a way I can understand it. I have never had a bad experiece at Sunny King Honda. Thanks to all of the staff there for an excellent job you all do.

Went to get a price on an Accord, bought a new CR-V, So far so good, Honda's seem to hold their resale up better than anything else! Thinking about a 2012!

My wife and I purchased a new 2010 Honda Fit from Frank Roehler (Internet Sales Manager) and completed the process by working with Curtis Butler (Finance Manager). I can honestly say these two guys made this car buying experience the best we have ever had and I am 52 yesrs old. We went in as strangers looking to buy a car, we left with a nice new car but more importantly we left knowing we had just made two new friends in Frank & Curtis. I took my CRV in for brake and left with a new CRV. The people are always very nice. I have traded with Sunny King several times in the past and will do so again.

My experience was good except for the long time that it took to complete the transaction. The people are all so very friendly and eager to help, without being pushy. This is my 3rd trade with them and I will return.

When I approached the internet sales person with an offer for a CRV I was told that they were low on inventory and could not move the price. This does not sit well with me. Had He just not accepted my offer and went from there it would not have bothered me but to say they didn't have many and would not negotiate for this reason. I have purchased two Honda Vehicles from this dealership,my first and my last. Purchased a NISSAN ROUGE.
