Now, this is my caveat. We showed up around 930 a.m. knowing exactly which vehicle we wanted and didn't get to leave with it until 2 p.m. It was an all day process. We should have made an appointment, I didn't because of random articles I had read online. Maybe this is good advice for other dealerships, but I would suggest not only setting up an appointment but telling them if you are looking for a particular car so they can have it ready. I showed up cold for a specific vehicle. The battery had died due to some unforeseen issues. They ended up replacing it without adding to the over all price. They also lubed the tailgate latch which was the reason the battery had died. They ALSO replaced a bolt on the plate holder that they had to drill out because of rust. Bear in mind, this was an AS IS no warranty vehicle! All these things were done at NO EXTRA CHARGE by a service department who don't get paid commission. My salesman stuck with me all day trying to help. First, he met with us even though we didn't have anot appointment. He then jump started our vehicle to get it going. He then worked with the service department to get them to fix all the issues. He did pull for us with the finance department to lower the cost which they couldn't do after all those repairs. Look, I scoured online for the perfect car at the perfect price. This car was selling for well below the average cost for a similarly optioned vehicle statewide. I admit, I tried to talk them down a bit, and I honestly think I could have without the need of a new battery install. The salesman was very professional, but also, once he gauged us to be the crazies we are, he also shared silly jokes and family stories during the long wait. He didn't even have lunch until after I left so it wasn't like he ran off while I sat there to get a meal. After we did our test drive *they drive it off the lot then let you take over after a bit*, we talked about price. We were buying outright so I have no advice about their financing. Once they got the price and paperwork set, they did all the repairs. They even had to go to a parts store to buy that bolt! Then, once all want said and done, the salesman (whose name I have forgotten which will surprise him because I remembered some random codes for our stereo) sat with me in the car to go over all the options we hadn't already discussed. Anything we couldn't find the answer for, we both tried to look up on our phones, it became a competition, but friendly ha. He was tolerant of my crazy and thanked me for all my patience. Again, I showed up cold and they hadn't known the battery had died because of the stuck latch from the day before. I'm confident it would have gone much faster had I communicated with them in advance. I can't speak for all the salesmen, but ours was a stand up guy!

After much research on the internet I decided upon a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL from Stykemain Buick GMC in Defiance, OH. I filled out their on-line credit application, was approved and set up a noon appointment the following day to check the vehicle out. If the car presented itself as well as the pictures portrayed, I told them I was prepared to drive it home. At this point, I need to make mention of an absurd policy of this dealership. While I was willing to put a credit card deposit on the car to hold it and show my sincerity, I was told that that the deposit was $500 and that it was NON-REFUNDABLE! Really? Non-refundable? What sane person would put $500 down on a car based solely upon grainy pictures on the internet? Since it was nearly 7:00 in the evening and they closed at 8:00 I assured them I was neither insane nor stupid and would therefore see them in the morning. The following day I went into work in the morning while my wife took the day off and went to Enterprise to pick-up a one-way rental (this, I can assure you, is not an inexpensive proposition). I left work around 9:30 a.m. and noticed I had missed a call from the dealership. Thinking that they required some last minute information I phoned Steve Lymanstall, the sales manager. The conversation went something like this: ME: Good morning, Mr. Lymanstall. This is Mr. Future Customer. How are you this morning? HE: Doing well, Mr. Future Customer. ME: Glad to hear that. Hey, I just left work and noticed that I miss a call from you. What's up? HE: The car's been sold. ME: Huh? Come again? HE: Yeah, my used car manager sold it at auction. ME: Huh? HE: Yeah, my used car manager sold your car at auction. ME: How can that be? I have an appointment. I have approved credit and a cashier's check. I have a one-way rental. My wife and I have both taken time off of work. I canceled appointments, remember? You were looking forward to meeting us. We had a deal. Long story short, he felt REALLY BAD, but apparently nothing could be done. I felt a little better after venting (expletives included) to some kid named Ethan who represented himself as the owner, but I believe he was the owner's son. I may have offended him with my language. Now, I've purchased other vehicles off of the internet and have never had a bad experience. If, however, you are ever contemplating a similar purchase, here's some advice: RUN, don't walk, from this dealership, Stykemain Buick GMC in Defiance, Ohio. Satisfying potential customers is the furthest thing from their minds. They have no integrity whatsoever. Earning someone's business means nothing to them, unless of course you want to part company with a $500 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. There, NOW I feel better.

I should have left after being in this dealership for more than 3 hours when they had my credit app for days. That should have told me how this place operates. I purchased a used 44 Chevy truck. The purchase process was rough from the beginning. As stated above I turned in my credit app long before I visited the dealer. My family and I sat in the dark at the dealership because they took their time and didn't close the deal until after the automated lights in the building shut off. I drove 17 miles home and parked the 44 truck in 8 inches of snow. I dressed for work and returned to the truck 15 minutes later. I attempted to pull out of the snow in 4auto. The rears spun the truck didn't move. I switched to 4hi. Same result. 4 low same result. The first hour of having the 44 truck it has no 44 and I have to be towed out of 8 inches of snow. I returned to the dealer the very next day. They drove the truck for 15 minutes and said there is nothing wrong with it. I I return home. Still no 44. I call my local mechanic. I pay $100 more to my mechanic to inspect the truck. They start the transfer case is bad and needs replaced. I return to the dealer with results from my mechanic. They keep the truck over night. They tell me because they can hear it shift there is nothing wrong with the transfer case. Still no 44. I email the Owner of the dealership. He tells me to bring it back. I do. He drives it around for 10 minutes. He states it has no 44. He proceeds to pull me in his office tell me it's my fault. That it had 44 before. That I signed documents stating the truck is AS IS. Well Mr Stykemain it's not always about what I signed. It's about treating your customer that just spent 9000 in your dealership with respect and understanding. I returned home with a date to the service department. I brought the truck back again. They bring it in the service department and drain the oil out of the transfer case. They show me the metal shavings in the oil. They tell me they will pay 25% of the repair bill to put in a USED transfer case of unknown decent and mileage. It will cost me more than $1100. Additional $200 to replace the front u joint that's now bad. I now have a 2wd truck at 4wd price. I have found a re manufactured transfer case and can get it installed for less than his 25% off bill. My mechanic also told me since they would have the drive shafts off anyway they would replace the u joints in both shafts for $50. I think it's safe to say if it took 5 times returning to the dealer before they could tell me there was something wrong I don't want them to wash the truck let alone work on it. I will never be back.

Just bought a car at Stykemain. In less than a week noticed a problem with rear wheel getting hot. I had my mechanic check it and found that brake caliper was sticking. Overlooked on inspection. Contacted dealership and was ignored by management. Finally after repeated calls finally I receive a call back. Told it was an as is car and would not work with me. Be sure to check a car well if buying from them. Once the sale is done they ignore you.

I wanted to look at a truck you had on the lot but because of my work hours it was difficult for me to find time to go to your lot. I called and the salesman was more then happy to bring the truck to my work place on my break so that I could look at it. I told him I wanted it and it was very helpful.

I am very pleased with the immediate response I received from the president, Mr. Joe Stykemain. He was very professional, and he happily listened to me as I told him about my experience. I received positive feedback from him the same day, and he was thankful that I contacted him in regards to the problem. Along with Mr. Stykemain's gracious decision, the manager, Mr. Hoffman, offered to make me a spare key. Without hesitation, Mr. Hoffman did so last weekend due to my frustrations with having to yet purchase more accessories for my new car. Thanks to Mr. Stykemain, Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Buchhop, I am extremely happy with the outcome. Il gladly continue to promote your business in Indiana!

I found the perfect car for me at a dealership I was unfamiliar with, but that didn't stop me; I had to have her! The process of purchasing my new vehicle was tedious, like many others, but the employee decided to change his mind on what was originally said and refuse to contact me in regards to the matter. I absolutely love my new car, but I will NEVER buy through them again. *Tip - Be sure to get everything in writing; you can use it to stand up for yourself after they leave you out to dry.

I called the service dept. on a Monday to set an appt. for Thursdat for an oil change, tire rotation and general service. They got me in at a time that was very convenient for me and my schedule that day.The next day I received a reminder e-mail and a phone call! When I arrived at Stykemain on Thursday a gentleman came out, very promptly, to drive my car in. I had forgotten to mention on the phone that my tailgate wasn't working, so they looked at that right away and found the problem. Another gentleman showed me where the waiting lounge was and told me the approximate time they would be done and that he would come to get me. I relaxed and read until he came. All I needed to do was look over the list of what they had done, sign, and pay and I was on my way with a newly washed car! Very pleasant experience!
