still using outmoded tactics - steer clear
they claim its "dealership policy" to run your credit even if you are coming in with outside financing. they refuse to provide a buyers order for me to take to my credit union. they will only offer internal financing - which you can then refinance yourself. the reasons given for these policies are laughable: "we like to know who we are dealing with" "it protects our customers" "we need to know you are who you say you are" - i guess theyre not familiar with birth certificates, passports, or statutory law in general. this is all to get a crack at a few points on financing, but the smoke they blow up your rear to make you think otherwise is laughable. absolutely extraordinary.
Outstanding Customer Service!!!
I recently brought my vehicle in to get serviced. I was very fortunate to have TC as my Service Advisor and can't thank him enough for his outstanding customer service! My vehicle was done at the time promised and I couldn't be happier with the results of service provided. I will definitely be returning in the future!

Disappointing first experience
I am quite experienced on purchasing vehicles at auto mall dealerships. Through the years I've been treated very well by every dealership I've been a customer too. Today however was my first visit to a Honda dealership ever. My sister, brother in law and I went just to look around and to see if there would be anything that might catch my sister's eye. We went with the intention to just look around but became extremely excited to see a beautiful Honda Pilot that my sister just had to have. But had to come back so they could drive it down from the Honda in Lodi. So being that it was a "just look around day" we wanted to make other stops before settling on one particular car. So then we left and we're called when they got it to Stockton and we began negotiations. Then had to stop so my brother in law could make his doctor's appointment (which was explained before beginning negotiations) becoming frustrated even though it explained that we would have to take a break to make the appointment, they would not let us go. Finally able to leave we then came back a third time. The third visit was not so pleasant, we were approached by a floor manager by the name of Rob and told us to sit to continue with negotiations. But by no means was it that, as he began explaining the price, payments, and interest. He then began to tell me how much the life of the loan would be and how much the payments would be all before he even ran our credit. Understanding this wasn't protocol I had questions on how he came up with these numbers and he would interrupt me every time saying "I know what I'm doing this is what I do (arguing everything I would say)" or if I would make a suggestion he would only respond with "doesn't matter" or "whatever" after five minutes of this I asked if we could have a moment to discuss his so called deal he then slapped his pen on the table and walked away. Feeling uncomfortable and no longer welcomed we decided to go. We could no longer could see Rob anywhere on the floor, after five or six minutes had passed we asked another floor manager if they could call Rob back. Some more time passed and the same floor manager came back and asked if Rob ever came by we responded and said no and handed our application to run our credit that he left on the table and began to exit the building. I wouldn't want anyone to feel the embarrassment my family and I felt so if you must go to Stockton Honda please avoid the floor manager by the name of Rob. I won't judge all Honda dealerships but strongly would seriously reconsider returning Disappointed customer & Sadden to miss the opportunity to buy such a beautiful vehicle

Oil and Lube
I was in the Stockton Honda Sevice deptmant last Satuday 7/19/14 for an oil and lube for my Civic. I was the third one in line so i figure it would only take about 15 - 20 minutes or 30 minutes tops. I was there for 1 1/2 hours. My car sat on the parking lot after it was done for another 25 minutes. I asked my rep (Robert Parker) when my car will be done. his only response to me was I'm doing the paper work right now. I could have gone to jiffy lube and the job in less than 15 minutes. This will be the Honda I'm ever going to own and my last time in teir Stockton Honda Service department.
GREAT Customer Service
I live in Modesto, Ca... I do not like the customer service in the Honda dealer for Modesto...! I make the drive to go into Stockton Honda, because I LOVE there service. Robert Parker is are go to guy. He is always honest and We don't ever feel ripped off. He is always courteous and keeps our best interest in mind... Having bought cars at university honda in Davis and at Stockton Honda , the service is dramatically better in Davis. I would have thought they would be about the same but university honda far outshines the Stockton dealership.
First Time Buyer
As a young female and a first time car buyer, it can be pretty intimidating to go into a dealership. I had reached out to Stockton Honda via cars.com and had been communicating with Jonathan via email. He informed me about more information about the car I was looking for (a 2013 Honda Civic EX-L) and was open to discussing price options for me. He made me feel comfortable and like the dealership was approachable. When visiting the actual dealership, I was treated with respect and courtesy from the second I stepped onto the lot. Eugene and Mike Gonzales helped me on the lot, because Jonathan is an Internet Sales man, and they were fantastic salesmen as well. Each of these sales men were knowledgeable and did not pressure me. They were quick, efficient and informative. They let me take my time, look around and were sensitive to my needs. They never once pushed a sale and several times wanted to make sure I was "comfortable" with price, style and the type of vehicle provided. I feel that is very important to feel at ease at a dealership, because too many dealers will force you into un-needed items. I don't have a lot of experience to compare this to, but I can say that the individuals at Stockton Honda made my first-time-car shopping experience a total breeze and got me a great deal. Thank you Stockton, Honda, I will definitely be recommending you to all my family and friends.
Friendly Sales Personnel
I am searching for my first new car, and was apprehensive about car shopping in person. However, Allen Dionne was very nice, friendly and informative about the Honda CRV that I am interested in and about car shopping in general. He listened to what I needed and wanted and did his best to ensure I found the right car. Thanks to him, my car shopping experience was an enjoyable one that put my questions to rest. I would recommend this sales representative at Stockton Honda to a friend or family member.

They treat people like they are stupid. After several attempted deals/agreements, they came back with a counter that would end up costing me more. They also DO NOT listen to what the customer wants!!!! I asked SEVERAL times if they could get me a certain model, at which they kept saying they could, but tried to shove me with a more expensive model. The sales person also made a remark with a negative racial connotation. That combined with the poor treatment made me walk away. Then, in the days after, when I would talk about my experience with colleagues/friends, they told me it was good I walked away. Several of them had had the same experience!

Brought 3 yr old van in for factory recall repairs. Transmission reprogram, ABS cover replace and brake seal replacement. Wife drove it 2 blocks before trouble started. She pulled over into a parking lot and it would not move anymore. I called the service dept and asked them to stay open b/c we were bringing it back. I got in and the brakes were locked, the pedal was hard and it smelled like burnt pads. We went back to dealer without the van, they called a tow truck for us. We went back to the van to wait. The driver got in drove it around the parking lot. I got in and nursed it back to the dealer, brake pedal was hard and it felt like it would lock up any second so I only used the parking brake. Dropped it off and am hoping there is no damage and they fix it all. I will update this post after all is resolved.
Recall repair FAIL
I took my 3 yr old van in for factory recall repairs. Three actually, one for transmission reprogram, ABS cover replace and brake seal replacement. Wife drove a couple of blocks and had to pull over because the brakes were locked up and the pads were smoking. Called the service dept, asked them to stay open b/c I am bringing it back. Got in the car and it would not move, checked the parking brake too. Drove to dealer and they called a tow truck. Went back to wait for tow, the driver gets in and drives around the parking lot. I get in and nurse it back to dealer, brakes are dragging badly and the pedal is hard. I use the parking brake only. Dropped it off and am hoping they fix it and there is no damage. I will update or post again after it is resolved.

I went over to Stockton Honda, and got some terrible or lack of service. I went over to look at the new cars and not one associate came over to help. They were standing right in front of the dealership joking around. To me it seemed that i was just a looker and not a buyer. Eventually we went to the next honda dealership a few miles away.
