Very good experience when dealing and finalizing the deal, other than the time spent on it (close to 5 hours). All involved, from the sales person to the sales manager, paper work, everything worked fine.When of the final car delivery, and explanation of the car features, the representative thought that it was some issue with the electronic display and information, and scheduled an appointment to check it out. When back for the checking, nobody new what was to be checked, and found that everything was all right. We only will not, if ever happens, is when retrieving any information in the screen, change screen, or do any input, and the system shows up any flaw.For now we are happy, even thou a little confused with the conflicting information, as in one moment we are told to go back because of some issue, at the time defined as 25SUZ DIAGNOSTIC, and when going back 12 days later for the scheduled appointment, nobody remembers what or why it was scheduled the appointment, as according to the technician nothing wrong was found.

Glen was very informative and accommodating. We test drove the car over terrible roads--our choice, because Amherst roads are pretty bad and I so hate the jarring trips that are everyday occurrences--and Glen didn't complain, not even once. The Crosstrek did great.

This is my second Subaru Forester purchased from Steve Lewis. We drove up from Danbury, Ct. And it was so worth it. After an initial stop by just to inquire about a new forester, we were so taken by the honesty and integrity of our salesperson Roger that we decided upon returning home to step up to a 2017. Living in Ct. Was not a problem. We worked out the particulars over the phone and then took a ride up and the deal was doneThe fact that we were going to be out of the country was not a problem. Roger agreed to delay delivery until we returned on October 31. Certainly a treat on Halloween. Once again , Steve Lewis was prepared to deliver the car to us in Danbury however we called last minute and decided to pick it up. Wanted a brief tutorial on feature. No problemSteve Lewis and all of its staff go 100% to ensure that you get the vehicle you want at the best price

Steve Lewis Subaru is an awesome dealership. I come came in looking for a used car and found a great car. All of the employees were so patient and nice. The process ended up being difficult because we were having issues with the insurance company, but all the employees were so nice and so patient and worked thier butts off to try to get me my car! I can't thank them enough for how hard they worked, even if My mom and I might of been annoying at times because of our frustration with the insurance company. I felt like they truly cared about me and not just the money they get for selling cars, Thats rare from a dealership. But in the end, i ended up driving out with a beautiful new/used car. So thank you so much to Josh, My man Larry, Terra and Cassie and the rest of the Steve Lewis team for being so caring and personable. Recently I was looking for a used 2006 Honda CR-V, because of my 20-yr experience with that model. Steve Lewis Subaru had one, which I drove down from Vermont to see. It was the beginning of the Columbus Day weekend, and the showroom was very busy. The place seemed well-staffed, well-organized, and was very clean and orderly.Tyler Griswold was the sales associate who helped me. I found him to be very professional, efficient, respectful, up-front about the used CR-V, knowledgeable, and generally excellent to deal with. He always got back to me promptly by phone, took me for a test-drive in various traffic and road surface conditions, and introduced me to his associates to set up the trade-in of my old Honda. (The Honda dealers near me in VT and NH did not have used CR-Vs for me to consider.) All of the Steve Lewis personnel who helped me were cheerful, efficient, respectful, expediting all the paper-work, so I could get back home to Vermont without long delays. They wanted to keep the CR-V for another couple of days to do a final service, and offered me options for delivering the Honda. They gave me a loaner to use until they delivered the "new" used CR-V, got the insurance on my old car transferred to the "new" one, and even were prepared to register the car. All-in-all, my experience with Steve Lewis Subaru and Tyler Griswold was exemplary - the more so for my wanting a Honda from a Subaru dealer! No vehicular discrimination here! I highly recommend them, especially young Tyler!

I have never had such a pleasant experience buying a car.I went to several dealers shopping for a car for my daughter.Every salesperson said something that irritated me.I started to feel like I hated car salesmen.Then I met Tyler from Steve Lewis Subaru.He was so nice to my daughter and I.He made it so easy and stress free. And so did Shayne when I had to sit down and pay.Even though this dealer is in Massachusetts, I would still go there all the way from New York,next time I need a car. My wife and I just moved to the area last year and began bringing in our 2015 Forester for services here at Steve Lewis Subaru. We have always had a great experience. Every single employee we encounter is always extremely friendly and helpful. It's kind of amazing, really. When it came time to get a second car I really wanted to look here first because we have grown to trust the people here and the dealership in general. I've never purchased a used car from anyone but family so I was a little nervous but the experience here was very easy and I never felt pressured. Paul Lebel found several cars that fit my criteria and made sure I felt comfortable and took my time on test drives so I could find something I was really happy with. The process was very relaxed and without any pushy sales tactics. I really felt that it was important to them that I get a car I would be really happy with. Sales manager Jon Kubik was very helpful and really worked for us on financing so that we ended up with a deal that my wife and I were very happy with. Cassie Johnson helped us with delivery and was so nice. She made sure there were not any last minute things we were concerned about the car or the process. We asked about a spare key because the car only came with one key. She understood right away and had a new key ordered and programmed free of charge. Between our service experiences and this recent purchase experience we feel 100% positive about our dealings with Steve Lewis Subaru. I highly recommend this dealership and will continue to come back here myself.

From Jon the sales manager, thru Jared the salesman, Benny the tech expert and Larry in finance, the folks at Steve Lewis push all the right buttons. My adjectives above describe my experience in moving out of a lease on a car I did not particularly like and into one I really like for not a whole lot more money. I had not expected to be able to make this upgrade, but they found a way for me that is most satisfactory. They patiently let me explore my options, worked out the numbers and carefully explained the new vehicle and all its technical wonders. All this was accomplished in a friendly yet professional manner. In my book they are as good as it gets

I went into Steve Lewis Subaru nervous about having to buy a used car and doing it all by myself. Concerned I would be 'bulldozed' into something I would regret. The first person to help me was Glen Reen. He was so informative, helpful and very pleasant. I immediately felt more relaxed. I had seen this 2013 Subaru Impreza online and fell in love with the color of it...Black Cherry.I road tested the car and put a deposit on it while I thought it over and talked with family. I went back about two weeks later with my sister and brother in law and we met with Paul Figueiredo. Paul was delightful to deal with and deal we did! I left there having bought the Subaru. The whole process from beginning to end was pretty much seamless. Everyone is so professional and friendly. You feel like they really do care about you and want to make everything pleasant and easy. Good experience overall. I am very happy with my new car. This is more of a comment with the car sales industry overall, but I wish the price of the same car did not fluctuate with the time of the month. This is the case everywhere, but it leaves a strange taste in your mouth. You have to scour the internet to convince yourself you are getting a good deal. I traded in a car, and they initially gave me a dollar range of what they would pay for it. They should be able to give an exact figure after initially looking at the car. Giving a range and then giving an exact figure later with no additional evaluation of the car did not feel very professional to me.They also should have clarified that they needed a cashier's check for the final transaction.That said, I had a good experience overall and would go there again.

The bank was a little slow with getting the title for the car to the Dealership for us to take the car home, but everyone at Steve Lewis was very helpful through the process. Our sales rep., Kyle, kept us informed during the time we needed to wait, and it was well worth the wait. Our 2014 Subaru feels like a brand new car and we are very satisfied. Arrived on Friday to test drive the 2017 Outback...Todd was busy so he connected me with Roger who guided me through the ins and outs of the new vehicle. His knowledge was excellent and he did a wonderful job. I then met with Larry in finance, who is a hoot and a half. His energy is wonderful and made me feel very comfortable. We signed the necessary paperwork as we chatted happily with Larry.Two days later, we picked up our loaded new Outback and were assisted by Terra. She, too, was so very knowledgeable and took us step by step through our new purchase. She made certain that we understood the complexities of the touchscreen and could operate it ! I spent about two weeks going to dealerships around Northampton, this was by far the best experience. Very friendly staff, Glen was very informative, attentive, and very low-pressure in the sales pitch. The only reason I didn't buy here was that I found a crazy low clearance deal on a different brands car. Will definitely consider this place if I'm in the market again.

My relationship with Steve Lewis Subaru of Hadley began July 20, 2013, when my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer which I purchased brand new in 2007 motor stopped working. I needed a new car immediately. I visited the dealership and had the pleasure of meeting Larry Flakes. He offered me $2,000.00 on my vehicle as a trade in when my trailblazer didn't even run. They even picked the vehicle up at the shop were I had it towed for free. Larry took the time to help me find my perfect car in my price range. When it was time for me to pick-up my new car Larry spent at least an hour making sure I felt comfortable with all the bells and whistles. I drove away in my new car feeling extremely satisfied and grateful for what Larry did for me. My car needed a new set of tires after only driving it 26,000.00 miles in three years. The service department, specifically Will Lamb, reviewed my situation and told me that I would be given a credit of $600.00 for new tires. Talk about amazing!!!! The day before my appointment for new tires and an alignment I received a phone call letting me know of a special they were running and that I might be able to be placed in a new car. Well, I was curious about the offer and called Larry to learn more and was pleased to learn that he was promoted to the finance department. Even though it wasn't his job anymore Larry still took the time to talk with me the next day while my car was being worked on. I ended up purchasing a new vehicle from Larry that day and wasn't even made financially responsible for the new tires being placed on my old car. I picked up my new car a few days later and Terra went over everything with me. I can't say enough wonderful things about my experiences with Larry, Terra and Will. Our salesman, Todd and the sales manager, Tim wasted little time and made us a very fair offer on a 2017 Outback. While we were writing up the deal they found one (swap or affiliated dealership). The showing of the car when it came in, the meeting with the business manager went well and we were not pressured into anything "extra". Although I had a great experience buying my car, the follow up since has been way less than sufficient. Nearly two days after buying it I felt the car needed an alignment. When I called, I was told that I was calling the wrong place for the issue. Next, we hadn't had the car 6 months and there was an engine issue. Car wouldn't go more than 20 mph. They did not stand by the first fix of this issue, then 4 months later it happened again. They finally sent it to a Chevy dealer the second time. And now today, the THIRD time it happened to my car in just under 2 years of owning it, I call and they put someone in service on the phone, he was less than helpful and passed me off as the had "no record" of my car or having it fixed. It is flippin pathetic.

Dan greeted us as soon as we walked in the door. His relaxed, easy-going manner made the buying experience pleasant. There wasn't any pressure or stress! I really wanted a forester in Venetian red. All on the lot had been reserved or had a deposit. When I started to waver about the color, he said, "go with your first choice, don't settle. We'll find one at another dealership and bring it here." That's just what they did! Jared organized getting the remote start installed so we could pick up the new car quickly! He was friendly and went out of his way to get us set up for delivery! Benny was incredibly knowledgable about the technology and patient as I learned more about my car. Over and over he said, "call us anytime, no matter what the problem. There are 3 of us and we are happy to help you with this anytime!" Very reassuring to someone who just traded in a 2005 Forester! Finally, Shayne walked us through the financials and was frank about our needs. He did NOT try to sell us packages we didn't need. I cannot get over the great car and the amazing customer service I received at Steve Lewis.I did a ton of research, I knew what I was looking for and had a million questions. Before we even stepped in the door my daughter and I were greeted by EJ. He was patient and answered all of the questions I had. He included my 16 year old daughter in the conversation and made her feel welcome. (At another dealership she was ignored by the salesman who didn't even acknowledge her with a hello). EJ did not hesitate to show me the vehicles I asked to see and he did not try to sell me something I did not want.The financing department was very helpful too when I wasn't getting what I was looking for through my credit union. When I came in to start the paperwork Tim made me feel right at home and got me set up with the forms I needed to fill out. He even followed me out to my car to get my registration to copy so I would not have to walk back inside. And when I went to sign the paperwork Larry was very helpful and didn't seem mind answering all of my questions. He was very personable and he too made my daughter feel welcome. Terra was awesome as well. She showed us to the car and instructed us on the Bluetooth and how to sync our phones to it. She made sure we knew where everything was in the car and how to use it. I had shopped somewhere else before going to Steve Lewis. I got the "typical " car buying experience with a salesman who was not very knowledgeable, patient or friendly. Everyone in there was genuinely friendly and professional. I had an excellent experience from start to finish, towards the end of the process my insurance company goofed up and I initially was going to have to wait until the next day for my new plates but the employees there went out of their way to speed up the process, they were literally running around calling and emailing my insurance company to rush the process. I recently leased a 2016 Subaru Outback and absolutely love it. My experiences buying a car in the past have been nothing like this experience. From the time I walked into the dealership to the time I left, everyone was so pleasant, friendly, happy and especially helpful. The atmosphere was so positive and you could tell that everyone works extremely hard to make their customers happy and appreciative. Dave Hanks took the time to show me everything about the car. He was extremely patient and was always very willing to answer any questions I had. Everything including my old lease from a different dealership was taken care of and in a timely fashion. I couldn't thank the general manager, Joe Clark, enough for all of his amazing service and he always made sure I was happy throughout the whole experience. I must mention Larry Flakes...always smiling and made sure everything was checked over twice before I signed for my new car. I even got a ride over to another dealership to turn my lease in with a very nice man named Gene. He was so friendly and very patient. It was truly a memorable experience purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. It's no wonder that this dealership was recommended to me. Went in to Steve Lewis yesterday looking to buy a new car. Was instantly greeted at the door and hooked up with Glen Reen for sales. Very friendly guy who was extremely knowledgable about the different cars on the lot. I was able to test drive 3 different cars within an hour and shortly after made my decision on a purchase. Glen was great when it came to pros and cons for each car and helping in finding a vehicle that suited my needs! Went to Steve Lewis with a specific car in mind, when I called to confirm that it was still on the lot, they confirmed not only on their inventory, but also making sure it was still sitting out on the lot. When I got there, they shuffled the schedule to make sure we were waiting as little as possible, and listened to everything we said. No pressure to sell, and they made the whole process easy and fun. I would without a doubt go back next time I am in the market for a car!

Called and spoke to Glen Reen in sales and told him I was interested in the car but it would take me a while to get there. Glen had the car washed, prepped and sitting out front when we arrived. I knew at first sight that the car had been well-cared for (all of the service on the car was done at this dealership). Glen set us up for a great test drive after showing all of the features of the car and we completed the deal within an hour. Throughout the process, Glen never pushed us to purchase extras but let us know what might interest us, all the while getting us water and giving us time to think things over in private. We are extremely happy to have had Glen as our salesman. He is very personable, easy to talk to and no hard sales pitch. Just honest appreciation for the customer's needs. He is 5 stars all the way.The dealership itself is very clean and comfortable and everyone is very friendly. Too bad these guys are 3 hours away. As a retired VP of Sales and Marketing for an International Hardware/Software Integrator, I know a "special" person when I see one. Sales:My girlfriend I purchased our 4th vehicle at Steve Lewis Subaru. After our first experience working with Dave we have made sure to do all of our walk arounds, test drives, and purchases with him because of his straightforward approach and positive attitude. Needless to say we would highly recommend working with him. Dave knows these vehicles inside and out and gladly answers all your questions and concerns and provides honest advice. In addition to before and during the buying experience, he goes out of his way after the purchase to make sure you are content and takes a personal interest in your satisfaction. Financing:This was our second time working with Shayne. There is a subtle line between explaining the risks of not making sure you have proper warranty coverage and what could be considered "Scare tactics". After refusing additional warranty coverage we felt (politically correct way of saying he did) he overly aggressively tried to sell us additional warranty coverage by telling us how expensive XYZ repair was and that he has seen people with WRX's have hefty repair bills because of electronic issues they have had (which would give an uneducated buyer the impression their brand new car might be unreliable). We were not pleased with the extended coverage salesmenship this go-around.The intention of this review is simply to convey our experience and opinion, I am sure plenty of others have had positive experiences with Shayne as he is friendly and tries to lighten the atmosphere of dreary financial figures.

He explained what I needed to do, went through it once and coached me through doing it myself. He went back inside for a moment but came back out to be sure I was doing OK. This is my second time getting a Subaru from Steve Lewis and I will continue to come back as long as I can. The service is great and the entire staff works hard to make sure you get everything you need and want. They also work hard to work on my timeline - I come in from out of town and they can line all of the paperwork up and get the car ready in such a short time.

Two years ago I purchased a 2014 Subaru Impreza from Steve Lewis Subaru. The buying experience itself was positive, and when purchasing my car I was told about the "Free Tires" program. I was told at the time only that as long as I got all of my oil changes done at Steve Lewis and no where else, I'd qualify to get free tires for my vehicle when the time came. There was nothing else mentioned with that. Living an hour plus away from Steve Lewis Subaru, and driving more than 1900 miles a month for work made it a bit difficult to get my oil changes done as frequently as I would have preferred, but I still loyally went there and ONLY there for all of my oil changes. Now that I really need new tires for my vehicle, I realize how wrong I was to purchase from this dealership. I called today to check on my claim for my "free tires" and was informed by Colton that I was denied the claim because I didn't get my oil changes done within 7500 miles of each other. Conveniently, they left out this information when explaining the free tire program to me when I purchased the car, and now give me the "well it's in your contract" excuse. Listen, I understand I should have brought out the magnifying glass and gone through that contract with a fine toothed comb, but also shame on you Steve Lewis Subaru for conveniently leaving this out when initially reviewing the contract with your customer during purchasing. I'd also like to mention that you DESPERATELY need to train your employees in having any sort of decent customer service. After working for many years in the retail sales industry, I know that only saying "okay" when a customer is upset is probably one of the worst and arrogant things you can do. The condescending tone that Colton took with me when I was trying to figure out what was going on was absolutely abhorrent. I am absolutely done with Steve Lewis Subaru. Their shady business practices and arrogant nature after the initial purchase have assured me that next time I'm in the market for a new car, I will be looking elsewhere. Lastly, I'd like to relate a story of how Steve Lewis treated my cousin. My cousin had breast cancer and luckily it had gone into remission. When she was healthy again, she had landed her dream job, and decided to finally buy herself a brand new standard transmission Subaru Impreza (something she'd always wanted). No sooner had she purchased this car from Steve Lewis Subaru, did she find out that the cancer had come back. It ended up that because of her cancer, she could no longer fully use her right arm. She went back to Steve Lewis to explain to them that she had barely driven the car, and couldn't drive the standard shift anymore because of the problems with her right arm due to the cancer (obviously it's EXTREMELY difficult to drive a standard transmission vehicle when you can't really use your right arm). All she wanted was to trade in the standard for an automatic, and you'd think they'd be somewhat understanding since she had BARELY driven/used the car and for goodness sake the WOMAN HAD CANCER and had brought all her doctor/hospital information to prove this to them. These people threw her around and had ZERO sympathy for her situation. After months of fighting them on this situation they FINALLY did do something. Well Steve Lewis, I'd like you to know you made those last few months my cousin had with us before she passed away even more difficult because of your lack of human decency.Just heed my warning: you'll encounter a lot of smoke and mirrors at Steve Lewis Subaru.

Although, I must admit, by the conclusion, I was exhausted.Paul helped me drill down to what was important TO ME in a vehicle, and gave an excellent overview of the car before the test drives of the two models I was considering. When we returned to make the purchase, Terra reviewed the features of the car with us, then gave us a complete hands on introduction, with expertise, humor, and patience. When I was ready, they set me up with with Shayne to handle purchase details -- Shayne was super friendly and informative -- and, finally, Benny walked me through the features of my new model, explaining details about the service plan and the bells and whistles on the new model with clarity and humor. I couldn't have asked for a better crew.A final note. One great thing about Steve Lewis Subaru is that every time you walk into the dealership someone comes right up to and with a friendly smile asks if they can help you. I just picked up a brand new Legacy from Steve Lewis. Transaction was absolutely flawless - I knew I wanted a Legacy to replace an older model so I didn't need to shop around for different models, but I was interested in getting the best price possible for not only the new car but also for my trade. I contacted a few other dealerships and got quotes from 2 that were very close to what I wanted to pay but when I stopped by Steve Lewis, I knew this was where I wanted to buy my car. Dave was professional, straightforward and not only offered me a great deal on the whole transaction but I was completely impressed by how he responded when I decided - in the middle of the process of trading another dealership for the car - that I wanted a model with different equipment. He handled this turnaround with only gracious responses and we have ended up with the perfect car. Larry handled all of the paperwork when we came to pick up the car - he explained everything but was respectful of our time - and then we went on to have Dave explain all the bells and whistles that have come with the car - he showed us what had changed from our old car and walked through all of the new features, making sure we got a taste of what the car has to offer. I am leasing a car to be registered in another state, of which I am not yet a resident. The team at Steve Lewis Subaru in Hadley MA tackled this problem with speed. I especially had top quality service from Glen Reen in Sales and Larry Flakes in Finance. Glen connected me with an additional insurance agent when I wanted a 2nd quote from someone licensed in Vermont. He provided me with a pleasant test drive in my new vehicle. And he worked with Larry and others to figure out how to get the car properly registered. The dealership also has a very well appointed waiting room with drinks, snacks, and wifi.

I walked into Steve Lewis never having bought a car from a dealership before, and not even sure what I was looking for. Paul was great. He listened to what I wanted narrowed things down and walked me through evrything. He explained every step and answered all my questions I had. There was never any pressure and I felt comfortable asking about things I didn't understand. They laid out all the numbers so I had no surprises at the end of the day. Being the first time I took out a loan for a car Larry made sure I understood every part of the loan and where all the numbers were coming from. Shayne explained every paper I signed and what and why it was there. I walked out with a 2014 Subaru and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend them to anyone in the market for a new or used car.

I have purchased numerous cars during the past 30 years, not all Subaru. I have never signed apurchase contract during the initial visit. This visit, however, was totally different in a positive way. It took about one hour of negotiations, direct but not painful, to complete the deal. And it was very close to my desired price and much lower than the offer at a nearby dealer. Everyone involved in the transaction went out of their way to insure that I am taken care of in the best possible way. There is no question I will be here the next time I am looking for a car, new or used.

From our initial entry to the dealership, we were impressed with our welcome and the overall atmosphere of the facility. All people we encountered we're pleasant and eager to see that we were served . Our initial contact with Dave Hanks was delayed, since he was with other customers at the time, we were asked by several other members of the dealership if we needed help and made to feel comfortable. Our introduction to the vehicle was methodical and professional. We were introduced to several models and honed in on three, we then test drove all three and they were completely explained. We purchased the vehicle in record time mad with little drama or angst. Overall, from purchase to pick-up, we were impressed with Dave, Benny and Shayne, the TEAM worked its magic and before we realized it, we were returning home , well informed and feeling good.

I purchased my 2013 Subaru Legacy from Steve Lewis Subaru a few years back. I received excellent customer service at that time. Recently, I obtained a new iphone, and was having difficulty pairing it with my bluetooth in the car. I called the dealership, and was told to bring it in and someone would help me with the process. The only day and time I could go was on a Friday around 11. When I arrived at the dealership, I found that they were extremely busy. However, I proceeded to the Service Dept where I was greeted by a gentleman at the counter. I explained my situation, and while I could see he was very busy, the gentleman (whose name sadly I did not get) made it a point to get me some help. The young man who came with me to set up the iphone was Benny Cruz. I can not say enough about how much he helped me! Setting up the bluetooth on the 2013 is complicated, to say the least! Benny went through it step by step, even assisting me in transferring my contacts to the car! It was pretty obvious to me that Benny had a lot of other things to do on this busy morning, but he took the time to help me without rushing or impatience! And thankfully, he knew his stuff. I can not say enough good about Benny - I hope his boss is reading this! And to add to this, I can not say enough good about my experiences with Steve Lewis Subaru! I hope this continues for many years to come! Thanks again Benny!

This is a follow up review about the finance department. After waiting over 1hour to work with the finance department. I had a poor experience with this representative. From the second I sat in the chair he attempted to sell me hard on the extended warranty for my brand new vehicle. Even went as far as implying my car was likely to have problems. Than he started to bash all mechanics expect the ones that work for Steve Lewis. After declining twice I got sick of dealing with him and agreed to buy the cheapest one. Than we finally talked about financing. He either lied or didn't know that subarua has a 2.99 finance special for those with great credit on the wrx I bought. He offered me something else. Really just wanting the interaction to be over I agreed to it so I could go home. I suggest paying in cash or find and local credit union this rep had zero customer service skills and only cares about selling an extended warranty above cost. There sales department is great. But this department was terrible. I have attempted to cancel the extended warranty multiple times over two weeks. Still no replies from Steve Lewis.

We walked in and asked for the car and features we wanted. Within minutes our car was pulled up and we were signing papers. A very easy and transparent experience - no hard sell, and no slick handshakes and back slaps.When we picked up the car (after certain extras were in installed in under two days) we were greeted and given a full rundown that was casual, yet professional.If we go Subaru again this is where we will go.

Everyone I met at Steve Lewis Subaru was respectful and attentive. I was very surprised when Shayne offered to have my used car delivered right to my home at a time that worked with my schedule. Paul was great to work with and provided me with a fun experience and a wonderful test drive. I was disappointed that when my car was delivered the manual was missing, there was no front license plate holder (which in CT is required by law in order to drive the car), and the windshield washer fluid was not full. While the service department did clean up the car prior to delivery I still spent 6-10 hours cleaning the car inside and out immediately following delivery. The sales experience was definitely a bight spot in dealing with this dealership, but I was very underwhelmed with the condition of the delivered vehicle and led me to give this dealership an overall rating of average.

We went to Steve Lewis Subaru because: I had purchased an Outback there in 2013; I have serviced my vehicle there; I think the Outback is the best car I've ever owned; their website listed several vehicles we were interested in as a replacement car for my wife. Our visit confirmed all the positive vibes I'd had since my original purchase. Jared Gale was knowledgable, flexible (we quickly narrowed our choice to a 2013 Impreza wagon), and expedited everything so we closed the deal in an hour +/-, and picked up the car the next day. We got a decent trade in on my wife's 2000 Toyota Camry, negotiated a good price on the Impreza, and had the feeling that both the dealer/salesperson and the customer were happy with the result. Shayne Sweeney wrapped up the final paperwork, and made all the signatures easy. Buying a car can be a stressful experience. In this case, it was not. I recommend Steve Lewis Subaru, and Jared Gale, as a winning combination.

And, the price is always competitive with other dealerships. Dave is tops on our list. Caleb Pelle went over the vehicle when we picked it up. He was very knowledgeable of all the new features, and he was very patient as he tried to explain them to two Luddites. Ours is a Subaru family and Steve Lewis Subaru has always been our preferred dealership. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. I have never felt pressured whenever I've looked at cars there. I recently bought a used CrossTrek for my daughter, who is a new driver. I worked with Jared Gale who was just superb! He made everything go smoothly, taught my daughter a lot about the car and made me feel like my choice was a safe one for her. He also accommodated my busy schedule in order for the sale to go through on my timeframe. In 2 months, I will need to be purchasing another Subaru and will definitely go back to Steve Lewis and work with Jared again.

The salesman listened to exactly what I was interested in car wise and what I wanted in financing. He explained all the car options and finance options and made his own recommendations. The pick up went very smoothly and appreciated the run through of the new technology in the vehicle by the staff. This was very helpful and a service plus. Completing the paper work and financing was very smooth and it was very clear what I was buying in services and what it cost. While it was not a problem that the dealer was necessarily responsible for, adding the new vehicle to the insurance was prolonged and could have been better.

All my contacts at Steve Lewis Subaru where very professional and honest with me in completing the transaction of buying a special order Subaru Legacy. My Sales Associate Paul Figueiredo told me up front it would take eight to twelve weeks to get. Mine got delivered in eleven weeks. During the process Paul kept me updated on the progress of the order. Tom the runner that met me at the motor vehicle dept was very nice and made the long wait seem to go by quickly with the conversations we were having. Cassie spent time with me going over the car manuals and said I could come back for further instructions if needed and Larry Flakes the Business Manager was very efficient in completing all the paper work that is needed when purchasing a new vehicle.

My extended family has bought 5 subarus in the past five years from Steve Lewis and it is their sales staff who keep us coming back. At least 4 of our 5 cars have been purchased through Todd Gerry, and this time I had the pleasure of working with Dan Marques as well. Both men are good listeners and clear with their information; when I had narrowed down my choices to a specific vehicle, Todd "cut to the chase" and gave me the best deal possible without all the gamesmanship that many car dealers employ. Prior to that point, Dan was endlessly patient with my initial indecision between a used car and a new one, and offered information in person and through emails that was helpful in my decision-making process. Larry Flakes was likewise patient and helpful around the financing, and explained all options clearly and carefully. I brought my wife's Outback in for service and was provided service loaner. The service loaner was a new redesigned Outback...big difference from my wife's 2014...More room, quieter, more safety features and a smoother ride....Once she drove the service loaner she was hooked. I asked for a lease quote and was not given the run around...checked it against another dealer and the quote received for Mike the General Sales Manager was competitive and fair. We ended up picking a color....and driving it home the next day. No games, no pressure....just honest, fair and easy transaction. I would recommend Mike Teixeira for your next car purchase.
