Bad credit low down payment still drove off!

I had an Audi a6 for years. Well my car was involved in an accident and the cost to repair would have been too much. So I had Audi junked. Well I read all the good reviews about Star Hyundai and spoke to Andrew Lee. Let me tell you, this guy is awesome. I explained my situation, how I had bad credit (student loan) and low down payment. I told him exactly what I could afford monthly. Well he told me to come in anyway that he could help me. At first I was skeptical because I live in coney island and public transportation is three hours long to get to dealership. Andrew called me and assured me he can put me in something. Well I took a chance and went! The whole process took about an hour long. I couldn't drive away that same night because car needed to have inspection done. So what did Andrew do? He drove me home! I was floored with his courtesy and generosity to drop me off. I came the next day and car was ready for me. The staff at Star Hyundai are down to earth and are simply great. I recommend this place to everyone. And when you go ask for Andrew Lee and tell him Melody from Coney island sent you!

Our experience in the showroom was pleasant and informative. Mr. Ken Cheong was our sales associate. Mr. Cheong was courteous and spent time with us explaining all the features of the car, took us for a test drive and even put on the football game in the other room for my "impatient" husband who was upset for missing the football game. Mr. Cheong gets high marks for his patience.Who ever "prepped" my NEW cars for picked in the service dept on the other hand I do not have high marks for. After I arrived home, was going through the manual and inspecting the car, I noticed that the battery indicator light shows that my battery is only at HALF capacity! REALLY!! this is a new car. It should have a brand new battery in it. Also there was little to NO windshield washer fluid in the receptacle. It did not work when I tried it. I had to FILL the receptacle with my own fluid. Many of the AUTOMATIC features that Mr. Cheong raved about during the demonstration did not work because they were NOT programmed (auto trunk opening, door locks etc.) which I had to read through the manual and set myself. Many items were prepped on my husband's car that were NOT prepped on mine. Makes me question Star Hyundai's service dept.

I was looking for a Santa Fe Sport Ultimate working with 3 dealers. I chose Star Hyundai because the salesperson was laid back, almost like he didn't care, and dressed casually which made it easy working with him. I hate being sold on hype with an inflated quote by slick sales people & then wasting time negotiating. His initial quote was better than the other dealers' negotiated offer so I rewarded him by accepting his first offer. I got to the dealership at 4:30 & was hoping to pick up the vehicle same day. The dealership closed at 6pm (it was a Saturday), but the salesperson stayed with me until past 7 claiming he had nothing better to do, & we sat on the curb exchanging small talk until the vehicle was ready. To boot I'm happy with the vehicle.

Happy with my new car

I loved working with Andrew Lee at Star Hyundai in Bayside. I felt that he was looking out for the best price possible and trusted that he had my best interest. I never felt pressured or forced into anything and appreciated his honesty.

Car is Good, management consumer relations needs work.

Salesmen was professional and part of the reason I was willing to buy a Hyundai. However when it came to the financials of purchasing the car, The Financial manager almost made me back out. First while the car is good itself the vehicle was dented and scratched which I already spoke about in a separate letter. Second, the Financial Manager made us add 500$ of the negotiated amount to receive Hyundai 0.9% Interest rate even though our credit rating was excellent. Third, the manager slighted me, leaving out important details the warranty refusing to explain and differentiate between car service and maintenance not only making me buy it on the spot saying that we could not buy it later if we leave without me being able to research it.

If I could give negative star reviews I would definitely do that. We were looking for a test drive and would like to have a quote for budgeting. However, the salesperson said he would not able to deal with us since he has customers now and he would pass the case to another salesperson(Tommy) if we are not going to make a deal, which is fine by me. So we went for a test drive with Tommy. And the nightmare began.....Tommy requested to communicate with us in Mandarin which is fine by me too. And he starts to ask a lot of personal questions like: where are you from? How long you have been here? And when we get back he hushed us into his office even though we clearly mentioned that we just want to test drive. Then once we got to his desk, he asked: "What color of the car you want?" And we were telling him that we were still looking because we want to compare and do budgeting. And he was like: "I know. But what color you want so I can check is that color in stock." And we were confused that why he insisted to ask that question and we told him that we are not going to buy the car today. And he was like: "I know. I wanted to ask what color you want so I can get you a cheap insurance quote." And he explained that different color would give you different insurance quote, white color will be the cheapest as it resembles ambulance. My common sense told me it is not possible but I continued to ask him about the quote because that day was the last day of summer deals according to Hyundai website. And he said it has no difference the price is set all the time so we could come back anytime we want. He also mentioned that if other dealership gives you a better price why don't you leave and go for other dealership. And I found it extremely disrespectful. I strongly recommend you all to stay away from this dealership. I have never received a nice service from star dealership.

Want a Hyundai see Mark..

Was not sure if I wanted another Hyundai but after the test drive and sit down with super salesman Mark Stetchel, I did sign the lease. He is ultra professional, personable and not pushy. He removes the stigma that car salesman have to live with because of others in the field. My Sonata Limited is a great car. Only things I miss from the Honda I last owned are the side view camera which is so much better and safer than just a blind spot alert beep; as well as the ability to accept text messages and have them read to me without having to physically connect my phone to the car with a wire every time I drive. Howeve,r my Sonata has cross traffic alert and panoramic sunroof which were not offered on the Honda.

Our 5th Hyundai

Two XG350's, one Sonata and Two Tuscans The XG's were beautiful and a tough act to follow.The Sonata was an eye catcher ,fast and fun to drive. The first Tuscon showed us the usefulness of a SUV and the second Tuscon is nicer looking than the first and seems a little bigger. Its transmission seems to be"hunting" sometimes like it not sure which gear it should be in but maybe that will end when the ECO system is fully implemented .

Were willing to negotiate. Car had no problems and was given for a very good price. Took their time and didn't rush me into a deal.

I went to Bayside Star Hyundai with my father and we were immediately greeted and assisted by Kenneth Cheong. It was my first time purchasing a car and he was willing to sit down with us for several hours and went above and beyond to answer all the different questions we had regarding products, financing options, and car insurance. AWFUL. Stay away

31 days out, still don't have license plates which were overnighted 5 days ago. Have no car to drive. At one point the dealer actually said the words "well do you have that in writing." What an unsettling thing to hear from someone after a negotiaton and signed contract. I've been hung up on and lied countless times since I got the car. I was also harassed into providing good reviews for Mark. Awful awful awful experience. Haven't been sleeping for almost 2 weeks because of this. Stay away. I regret getting a new car (a new car which was dirty).

Is it too much trouble for dealership to review features of car?

Ken couldn't be bothered to explain keyless ignition features. he synced bluetooth. but that was it. The clock was not set. Did not explain how door locking/unlocking works with keyless ignition Have returned twice to have him show me how to use features of car. There are four books in the glove box , who has time to read all of that?? The sales person could review features before one drives off the lot This is my third consecutive lease with Hyundai. There was no customer loyalty rewards; Am probably finished with Hyundai after this lease

Did not feel welcome

I went here is look at a Tuscon. When I arrived I stood there for at least five minutes until I was even acknowledged by any one. Once I was assigned a sales person I was taken over to a desk and right away given a price. I was not asked what I wanted in the car, which style I wanted or if I wanted to even test drive one. When I showed them the prices I was given from TrueCar.com they told me they could not match the price and would not even work with me. I walked out the door and never heard from them again.

I was quite pleased with the professionalism provided at Hyundai, although I believe I was short changed on my trade in $150.00 could have been at least $500.00 but when all was said and done I walked out happy! Jun was the most professional salesperson I have encountered at a car dealership. Nothing short of excellent. He was thorough, fast, and answered all of my questions/concerns. What I appreciated most was that if he was unsure about a specific question, he told me honestly that he was unsure but would look into it for me. While there was only one question I had that fell into this situation, he looked into finding my answer quickly and let me know. I've worked in sales myself and know that this is a sign of a great salesman.
