Ash was ready, willing and able to make sure I found the perfect Mini. While I knew more or less what I needed after a lot of research, he was very attentive to be sure that I thought through all the options. He was swift, efficient and straight forward. On March 13th the sunroof on my mini jammed while opening. I made an appointment to have it taken care of and could not be more frustrated and disappointed by the lack of service. Firstly, I dropped my car off at 11 am on 3/18 and heard nothing back for over 24 hours at which point I called in. I was told it would be $3200 to repair my sunroof, which is completely outrageous. I suppose this is the reason I was never was contacted by my representative.The information was immediately at hand when I phoned in. Secondly, I requested the sunroof be manually closed. The representative got back to me saying it would be $1000. If you stand by your product you need to give someone a reasonable solution, even if temporary. I felt like the I was being told you're screwed, pay! Thirdly, the diagnosis was done completely by computer. There is no sign anyone touched my car- the roof is dusty with no new finger prints, inside was completely untouched- no paper cover even put on floor when it was brought up. If you are going to charge $195 for a diagnosis you should at least take time to actually look at the issue and not rely solely on the computer. I knew it was jammed, perhaps there is a solution that doesn't call for a complete rebuild. We'll never know because that requires eyes that the computer doesn't have and the technician couldn't be bothered to use. And finally, of course my car wasn't cleaned, because as Steve said 'they couldn't wash it because the sunroof was open'. Just reiterating 'you're screwed unless you pay.'I contacted the management at South Bay Mini immediately and conveyed the above chain of events. The Excellence Center Ambassador contacted me on 19th and arranged to get the sunroof closed for me. I dropped the car off first thing in the morning on the 20th and was told it was completed later that afternoon. When the car was brought forward for pick up the front glass of the sunroof was closed, however the rear glass plate was still in the open position, still jammed. Technician seemed completely dumbfounded as to why I would want the rear glass closed as well. Made it seems as if I was making an unreasonable request.So as I write this a number of things are troubling me about my dealings with South Bay Mini. First, was my sunroof damaged further by the technician? The two panel move in concert, but now I have one panel closed and the other jammed partially opened. Second, if you are going to charge a premium price for service you need to offer premium service. No one is paying attention to anything going on in the shop. Technicians cannot be bothered to pay attention to the tasks they preform, representatives do not oversee the service requests and the managers are not making sure these mistakes do not continue to occur. After my experience I would not feel confident dropping my car for a minor $50 repair. How can I be asked to contract a $3200 repair?

MY HUSBAND AND I ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THIS DEALERSHIP My husband and i went there yesterday for mini roadster base. We talked to Jacques and he seem pretty nice and we like him a lot but the dealership doesnt have a car i want so he asked me to come inside to put information down and he will call me if he have a car in a next few day. While he putting my information down. The computer have already have a record of me( because i contact them thru online website earier) so George Ledesma walked in and handle my case i guess cause he have record of my quote request online. We made a deal pretty quick.... in 20 mins. and i was very happy at that time. eventho i paid $500 more than another dealership offered but George will able to get me a car in 2-3 hours. but we have never get a car. After an hour pass he told us we could leave and he will contact us later when the car arrived.We paid $1000 to confirm that we will get the car later that day and I did mention him that my husband will be out of town for his business trip later tonight and wont be back till the end of the month. i made it clear but HE NEVER LET US KNOW. we called him, emailed him but he never responsed. He supposed to let us know and we wouldnt mind at all if he just pick up the phone and call us and let us know the update so we didnt wait for him. We wanted to get the paper done and dont want to leave it like that for weeks. So my husband delay his trip because he want the paper to be done before he leave town but WE HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM GEORGE. Next day i called him and emailed him and we never heard back from him. Later Afternoon My husband have to called Jacques and he gave the phone to George. ( We will never able to get a hold with George if Jacques not help) Overall we happy with Jacques but not George. George handle our case and he should treat us better. we are going to buy a car worth over $26,000. Its all about communication and George did handle thing poorly.Once husband spoke to George ( HE NEVER APOLOGY) he said oh i said monday. seriously??? i do not like it at all. you could say anything but do not lied please!!! he never once told us monday!!! Otherwise we wont wait and my husband woulnt be in town on monday!!. Anyway he cant find the car that we made a deal with so he sent us a new price quote of 3 different car. First one less accesories and $500 cheaper 2-3) he said slightly more money. Uhhhh dahhh!!! for alll this inconvenient you want to get me slightly more money? how about start with sorry? I have other dealer offer me $500 cheaper but i have to wait a few days. so i made a deal with george with $500 more cause i want the car on that same day and dont have to wait. my husband delay his trip and lost 2 night of hilton hotel that he have book in advance for week . he wait to get this thing done or at lease know it ok to leave town without communication with George. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINT and we have asked south bay manager to contact us but i have never heard anything back. i guess this is how they do business. i should not go there. waste my time and make me really disappoint. They have been so nice until we made a deal. Before i wrote this review. i have been try to think positive and give George a chance cause he was so good at first. But he kept continue let us down and it didnt take long to call customer and let them know whats going on. Push me into the edge when he quote more money instead to talk to his boss and try to get us better deal or at lease the same for all this inconvienient. My husband just bought New cadilac. and he had to wait for car also. Cadillac dealership keep my husband post 1-2/day and never keep us in the dark like this. This is what the different of how they treat customer.IT HAS BEEN FEW DAYS NOW AND WE ARE ALREADY BREAK CONTACT AND HAVE BEEN ASK MANAGER TO CALL US BUT HE NEVER DID!!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE.DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!!BUY FROM HERE IS YOU WANT A GREAT TAKE CARE AS A BUYER BUT SOON AFTER YOU BOUGHT, YOU WILL NEVER RECIEVE THE SAME TREAT. I just bought my first car at South Bay Mini and worked with Tyler Lappen. We worked mostly online which was great since I have a very consuming job and I also live in Santa Barbara. Tyler helped me find the perfect car and we did most of our communication online, so all I had to do was show up and purchase! Came on a Sunday evening - 6:30pm. Posted hours are 10-7pm and there wasn't any hesitation whatsoever in explaining process for purchase. More importantly, Tyler Lappen (ask for him) was patient, thoughtful, and very friendly. Tyler was also very knowledgable, explaing different components of the car, synching my iPhone (Blue Tooth) to the car computer, making sure it worked, and talking it through with me. When I was ready to purchase, Tyler while serving as the go-between me and the manager was clearly on my team. He went to bat for me, articulated how close we were to a deal, and made sure it would happen. A rarity in these days. In addition, the manager was very good, friendly and the rest of the staff (on a Sunday night) made sure that my paperwork was processed, my car detailed, and everything ready to go. I was also told about the VIP service including free car washes for the life of my car. The service plan also seems very good and I'm pleased with the level of professionalism. But really, what sold me was the overall friendliness of the business - but that I belive was set from the beginning with Tyler's approach and knowledge base. It was a pleasure to do business with Tyler Lappen and South Bay MINI - they will get my future referrals and business.

Bought a new mini yesterday with the assistance of Tyler Lappen at the dealership. I walked in there not expecting to make the purchase yet, but after a very positive experience learning about all my various options, I felt like I was in very good hands with Tyler and trusted him enough to move forward. I should also mention that before buying the new Countryman, I have been a mini cooper convertible S owner for the past 5 years. I only decided to trade that in for a Countryman as I am about to have a baby and need more room. After being told that I can't lease or finance a car at all by Long Beach Mini Dealership as I don't have a Credit History (coming from abroad on my H1B Visa, which expires in 26 months), LISSETT CALDERA made my dreams come true!!!! Lissett is nicest person in sales that I've ever met, she did her best to figure out a way to make it possible for me to lease a black Mini Cooper HT. After sending in all the required documents, she always kept me in the loop with the procedure and was always reachable for any questions I had, even on her day off:). I am so grateful, that Lissett and Gilbert Villagrana made it work out!! And just last Saturday I picked up my black Mini Cooper, shiny and brand-new;)! I am super happy with the car and would recommend South Bay Mini and especially Lissett, she's the best!!! Thank you!!! =)

I bought my mini cooper and it was an experience. It was my first real big purchase and a huge decision but Ive been wanting for a mini cooper for the longest time. George Ledesma is the guy to go to. He was amazing. I told him what I was able to afford and he helped me out. He was always real positive, friendly, and real. He wasn't pushy or stern like what I was expecting from a car salesman. Even after I drove my mini off the lot George sent me an email checking up on my new car and how I was doing. Even now when I have a question dealing with my car he always follows up with an email right away. If you ever want to get a car there I def. recommend meeting up with George guy is really easy to talk to and if it for wasn't for the price he gave me id probably be riding in something less than i expected .

This place serves fresh MINIs piping hot and at smokin' prices. I Searched all over the westside for my car and South Bay, by chance or perhaps fate, had the exact car I was looking for. I found my car moments after pulling in and grabbed the closest salesman I could get my hands on. I had my game-face on and was ready to dig my heels in for an epic clash-of-the-titans negotiation, but the salesman, Mr. Yang, and the manager agreed to my third offer. I smiled and shook their hand, but kept cool and collected :) We managed to wrap everything up in about 2 hrs. I still hold on to Mr. Yang's card in case I have any questions.

Had the MINI in mind, did my research online, got my budget figured out, and all I had to do was find the car. Went to several dealers before finally finding the one I wanted at South Bay. A bit further that I'm used to, but it seems MINI dealers are few and far between. Like I've told my friends, this place is the spot if you're looking for a MINI. I'm pretty independent and like to look around without being bothered, I heard enough about the cars online and at other dealers. So when I found the car I wanted I called out. A kind gentleman, Mr. Yang, was more than eager to help. The sun was hot and I had been driving all over the westside so I was in no mood for BS. Mr. Yang understood and was very polite. I was given cold water and snacks. I discussed my terms and we shook hands and an hour and a half later I was cruising with the windows rolled down huffing that delicious new car smell. YUM!

my gf got a MINI here a few weeks ago. Great dealership and everyone was super nice and welcoming! I ended up speaking with Timmy Yang, who was referred by friends and people online. Timmy is the best and easiest sale person to deal with just as what people told me! No BS! He is not the pushy type who would force you to get something more expensive. He looks at all the factors such as how much you drive, whether it will be garage kept, which color is more likely to trap heat, and which is the easiest to clean, your driving style, and what you care and not care to be on the car before he determines what suit you best and add his professional recommendations. Since MINI has many different packages and options, he was patient enough to explain the car from head to toe, inside out. He also let us play around with all the features in multiple cars. I felt bad taking almost 8 hours of his time before we even consider buying. BUT, ended up getting one from him anyways. This guy really knows about cars, I think he said he has been in the industry for quite some time, and he had work at BMW before. Great customer service, and sold my girlfriend what she wanted!!! Timmmmmmy FTW! I hope he is not seeing this, or he might think we are creepers. lol

That meant being literally ignored and dismissed for being a female at their service centers. I am SO excited to have a Mini now, and a great dealership that hustles when you have an issue with your car. Seriously, if you get a BMW or Mini after having an american car, your life will change. Those service warranties are worth it.

When we went into the dealership we were promptly & warmly greeted by Amy Sui who took us for a test drive.I have been dreading the car buying experience, but Amy was awesome! She was knowledgeable about the car and if she didn't know a particular answer to a question she quickly got it for us. Buying our new Mini was the best experience I have had at a car dealership. Timmy and his team was awesome: personable, funny, and very friendly, without any pushiness at all (I am very sensitive to pushy salespeople so I would've been very uncomfortable had he been even a teensy bit pushy). We laughed a ton while we were there. He went above and beyond to answer questions and work with us on what we wanted. I've puchased 7 new cars in the past and South Bay Mini is by far the most comfortable and stress-free dealer I've ever worked with. I never felt hurried or pushed to add certain options although suggestions regarding their experiences with various options were offered and often made great sense. I felt like I received a fair price and at no time was I made to feel guilty about asking for a discount. I was in sales for many years so I truly appreciated that both Paul Sapienza and Patrice Cullen treated me like they would want me to treat them. When I picked up my car, Paul personalized the set-up for me so I didn't have to struggle with the somewhat confusing (at first) radio/etc instructions. All the people at SBM really enjoy the cars they sell and truly share in your joy at purchasing such a fun vehicle.

This was the very best car buying experience I have ever had. Up until this experience I always dreaded walking into a car dealership. I was greeted by Paul out on the lot while I was looking at cars. I came specifically to test drive the Mini Cooper Countryman. Paul was warm and friendly and he was very genuine. I felt comfortable with him right away. We went for a test drive in the countryman and I fell in love with it. He understood what I was looking for in a new car and where I needed my payments to be. He looked up in his inventory and saw that there was a car coming in a few weeks that met my needs perfectly. He suggested without any pressure that I put a deposit down on the car. I didn't at the time and he certainly didn't pressure me into it at all. He gave me his card and checked in with me in a few days. A few days after that I called with my credit card to put my deposit down for the car. He kept me well informed during my waiting period for the car to show up at the dealership. Withing a couple weeks I got the call to come down and pick the car up. It was very exciting for me and Paul always excited for me as well. When I came in to pick the car up it was hassle free and a very exciting evening for me. The car is gorgeous! I couldn't be happier and Paul has let me know that I can call him anytime if I have any questions about the car or anything. I can't say enough good things about my experience. I feel I may be a life long Mini Cooper driver and will always go back to South bay Mini and Paul. I just leased my second Clubman from the same dealer. I had gone in to replace my brake pads. Because they will let you wait for your car (and they are always nice about that), I had about an hour or so to kill. As i waited in the dealership, I started a conversation with Patrice, one of their sales consultants. She was super nice and knowledgeable about the Clubman, as she herself drives one too.We chatted about my car, my next car, and one thing led to another...and Patrice had found my "dream Clubman" (with the Hampton package) at another dealership. I waited just one day to have the car delivered, and she handled my all the paperwork and lease terms and unexpectedly, now I am the happy driver of a new Clubman!I had done the requisite research using KBB, TrueCar, and Edmunds, and the numbers that Patrice showed me proved that she was not trying to sneak anything past me. Buying a car from a "car salesman", for me, has to be right up there with going to the dentist. My husband loves to buy and look for cars and always works with the Manager of a dealership when he is ready to purchase. That was not the case at South Bay BMW/Mini in Torrance. In fact, we were not even going to buy a car, my husband just wanted to get in a Mini Cooper to see if he would fit in it. Timmy Yang, our salesman appeared with a smile and friendly disposition. He wasn't there to "sell" but there to listen and offer knowledge. He was everything I respect in a sales person (and I am in sales too, btw!)and MUCH more. He took us on a drive--I fell in love and next thing I knew-- we were sitting at his desk looking for the perfect color and style for me. He was honest, patient, kind, and so ACCOMMODATING!!! I worked with Timmy in looking for an ideal, but somewhat rare car: A non-S convertible manual. Timmy bent over backwards and ordered the car for me quickstyle, got it to the dealership and even coordinated with another dealer (Chris?) on his day off for us to come see it. Timmy also worked to get our loan preapproved. Alas, it did not work out as personal reasons (namely planning on starting a family) made us chicken out of buying a new car. But Timmy was very professional and gave us a no pressure environment to see the car and not buy it. Will certainly go to Timmy if we're ever back in the market.

Sales will lie through their teeth to get you into a car. Service Dept. is full of liars and cheats. Below is a letter written to the Manager. It's been 2 days now and he won't return may calls or write back.Hello,I purchased a 2010 mini cooper hard top from your dealership in April 2010. On Jan 6th I discovered that my car in fact did not have the runflat tires that I was told that it had by your salesman Travis Mark. At the time of sale your salesman and financial man upstairs pressured me for at least 15 min to purchase your runflat insurance. I'm glad I opted out of that one since your sales department blatantly lied about what kind of tires were on my car. I do not appreciate being lied to. I have brought up the concern multiple times with various people within your company and the overall response is "There's nothing we can do about it now.". Really!!?? You lied about certain features my car had but now that all the paperwork has been signed there's nothing you're willing to do?On Jan 8th I brought my car into your service to inspect the tires to ensure if they were runflat or not (they concluded that they were not runflat). End of story. No apology, no offer to rectify the situation. I also asked about the armrest option. They told me there was one style and it came in gray or black. No other information was offered to me. I asked if it was decent and if people that had it installed liked it or were there complaints. My reply "Oh, everyone loves it and it is one of our most popular installations." There was no armrest for me to look at, not even a picture to go by, so I took your so-called experts word for it and gave the go ahead for the installation.When I picked up my car I was immediately horrified. I could barely access my emergency brake (a safety hazard I'm sure) and I had difficulty shifting my manual transmission. The armrest is also at a height that is incredibly uncomfortable and to my dismay it won't fold up to a complete upright position. NONE of these things were mentioned when I asked if there were issues with it.I called the service dept. immediately regarding all of my issues. I left multiple messages. No one would ever call me back. At last I got a hold of Vatche (sic) and he said he would talk to his manager. I never heard back. At last I asked for Jeremy Guenther directly bypassing Vatche. He informed me that these were known issues with the armrest (he was not willing to address the issue of the tires). KNOWN issues??!! I was told that EVERYONE loved the armrest and there were no complaints. He told me that he would refund me for the part but not the labor to install or uninstall. So I am out of $308.00 because your employees weren't honest with me... AGAIN?I have reported your company to the Better Business Bureau. I am willing to append my complaint if you will take out the armrest and refund me for ALL labor. I believe with the price difference of the tires alone this is a reasonable request. I am not asking for new tires or to keep the armrest. I just want the armrest gone and a complete refund of parts and labor.If you are willing to do this I will continue to be a loyal customer. If not the complaint with the Better Business Bureau will stand and I will post negative reviews about your company on EVERY public forum out there. The one thing that usually puts me off when it comes to dealerships is hovering sales people simply looking to meet a quota, and I can assure you the experience at South Bay MINI was pleasantly atypical. I visited South Bay BMW/MINI looking to test drive a few new BMW and MINI models earlier this year; and, after poking around for awhile and looking at the couple of options, had a conversation with one of their sales people (Alex Do) that convinced me that I'll likely buy all of my cars from BMW/MINI in the future. The enthusiasm and professionalism of the staff was second to none, and in no way were they pushy or intrusive when it came to 'a final decision'. Well, I was originally going to go to Crevier - and posted this on an online mini forum. I got a message from somebody that recomended Amanda from south bay - so I shot her an email. She was insanely helpful from the beginning, even in person - I didn't feel like i was with a sales person, but with a trusted friend. She was not pushy at all, didn't give me that strange 'car dealer' vibe - and even recommended I NOT get a few options, as she didn't care for them herself and she felt they weren't worth it. I was very impressed with South Bay Mini and Ernie Munoz from the start. I came in inquiring about the lease special for the Mini Cooper hardtop. Ernie sat down with me and explained all the options in detail. He then took me out and showed me the different cars. He was very accommodating and patient, he did not push me to buy/lease a car or try to pressure me into leasing something that was out of my price range. Holy crap, that was the easiest time I've ever had buying a car! I had ordered a custom built car which came in exactly on schedule. When I walked in at the scheduled time to take delivery Drew, Alex, and team were ready to rock and roll. We did the preliminary photocopies and paperwork, went up to finance to discuss options and sign papers, and then hopped in the car! Compared to all my other leases and purchases, this was head and shoulders above the rest. No sleazy finance guy, no crooked or tricky deals, just a team of people who were straight forward and bringing their A-game. My wife and I had visited a fair number of different dealerships looking for a small sporty car. When we went to South Bay Mini it was late on a weeknight and close to closing. Alex Do was the sales person that greeted us. She was very patient with our many questions. She showed us the inventory and gave us alot of space to explore and discuss things among ouselves. Once we decided to buy she expedited the sale. The dealership and Alex have stayed in touch via e-mail regularly. He was straight with me all the way, there was no quibbling with price and then having a manager have to okay it, and he was very patient with me (allowing me to test drive the car twice and ask lots of dumb questions). When I went to go visit Southbay Mini, I was really there just to browse. I was unsure if I wanted to buy a Mini Cooper and because of my dealer's experience and knowledge and more importantly ENTHUSIASM for Mini Coopers overall I was motivated and excited to drive one off the lot that night. Chris is such a great guy to work with. First off he is an enthusiast just like me. You can really tell that he loves cars just by talking to him. He knows mini coopers inside and out. In fact when I was there in his dealership most of the other employees with go up to him and ask him questions. He really is the go to guy when it comes to mini coopers. You cant fake things like that. You know how some people know the product they are selling just because they read and memorized everything about it, but with Chris he really knows his product not just because he works there but he genuinely is passionate about the mini brand. Just by the way he talks about it you can really tell and if see his car, he has one of the best looking mini coopers I have ever seen. After talking to him and test driving a mini. I had no hesitations on buying one from him. Also the fact that south bay mini was the only dealership in socal that was selling there cars for MSRP other dealerships where selling there mini for up to $10K over the sticker. This was when gas was $5 a gallon and mini coopers where sold out everywhere. So I ordered my mini from the factory and Chris really went out of his way to let me know the progress of my build. I was one of those clients who would bug him every week about my car (whats the status, when is it arriving? etc. ) I must have drove him crazy hehehe. So the day the car arrives he calls me and tells me that the car is here. I scheduled an appointment to pick up the car and headed down to south bay mini. When I got there my New Mini Cooper was waiting for me in front of the dealership. Chris brought me over to finance to sign papers after all the formalities where over. He went over the cars features and even showed me cool things about the car I did not know. I was in and out of there in an hour! Not only was she very knowledgeable about all the MINIS I was interested in, she was extremely engaging with my entirely family and made us feel comfortable right away. She would call and email me during the couple weeks we were car shopping just to check up on my decision making process and see if there was anything she could do. She didn't pressure us or shove numbers down our throats, but just really worked to get us the BEST possible price. I had the excellent opportunity to visit South Bay Mini when looking for a new car. Chris Yuseco was the person I met at the dealership. He explained the vehicle to me, and made me feel very comfortable in seriously considering a Mini as my new car. I returned with my family for a test drive with Chris. He was exceptionally patient as I asked many questions, mostly elementary ones. His commitment to customer service allowed us to decide that this was going to be a very positive experience as we continued with the purchase of my first Mini. I walked into South Bay MINI without having called in for an appointment nor having any serious intention of buying a vehicle that day. I was instantly wowed by the dealership's great energy and fun decor. I felt comfortable being approached by young, cool salespeople who didn't pressure or hackle me. I was recommended South Bay by a friend. I originally spoke to different sales person, who supposedly took all my information (including personal and car specification). A couple week later, I followed up and found out that the sales person did not place my order. I was upset and annoyed, but the manager at the time apologized and had Chris take care of me. And he was and still is terrific. I got my MINI per the specifications that I wanted (the stereo was not what I ordered, but after I talked to Chris I decided that it was no big deal). He is always available for you if and when you have concerns or questions. I actually referred a friend to buy a MINI from South Bay, I wanted him to buy from Chris, but unfortunately Chris was out on vacation. If it's not because of Chris, I'd probably take my car to other MINI dealers for service.

I am a designer myself and MINI was one of my dream car! and I'm really thankful that I bought my mini from south bay mini because Alex is a designer herself and have a great design sense! Our Sales person Alex Do provided us with the best car buying experience ever.....and since we've bought prbly 20-25 cars over the past 20 years this says everything. I went from a Mercedes E class to a Mini and am so happy I made the change. The only 4 was for price which I was a bit disappointed in....I asked for a $500 armrest to be included and no cigar....This would have made my experience a total 5.The dealership is well thought out---marketing is awesome...but back to the beginning, Alex made our experience so effortless. To elaborate further (since you asked) she searched high and low for just the right Mini for me...I ultimately ended up with the perfect car at South Bay Mini, but I'm confident that I would have received the same service had car been obtained from a different dealer...since I was ready to sign papers on another car when I changed my mind and opted for the Mini in the showroom.

I love Minis and I've bought four so far (one being a 1969). Aside from the classic, the other three have been from Chris Yuseco from South Bay Mini. Upon buying my first Mini a few of the sales guys from other dealerships saw that I was young (presumably) and didn't give me the time of day; or worse yet, they were rude and treated me as an inferior. Chris greeted me, talked to me like I was a human, not a sale nor a child. The best part of the experience and why I went back to him two more times is the fact that he is HONEST. He told me my options and gave me the best deal possible, I used to sell cars, and I know when someone is trying to jack me around. Chris was not. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHRIS YUSECO at SOUTHBAY MINI!! My wife and I went to a couple of dealerships in So Cal before contacting Chris at South Bay and we felt more comfortable and at ease with Chris. The other dealerships gave us bad vibes. We ended up ordering a Mini Cooper S with all the extras that we wanted and Chris gave us a great deal. He always gave us updates on the status of our car as it was being built. He was really understanding and was never too busy to take care of us. Every time we go to the dealer for service he always greets us and asks how our Mini is doing. That to us is very important because we have heard stories of sales people that will not waste their time with you after they sell the car. I think dealerships should get into the habit of treating their customers with respect and dignity, and not think that everyone that walks in there just wants to get the best price.

I researched many Mini dealerships in the southern California area for the best deal and inventory. Out of all the Mini dealerships, Southbay Mini had the best car deals (hands down) and a large inventory to choose from. It took me two visits before I made up my mind to buy my Mini, and each visit was very pleasant. The "non-aggressive" sales approach that my Sales rep, Chris Yuseco along with his Manager provided were awesome. They easily met my requirements in terms of price and monthly payments that I almost feel like they've been ripped off - haha! Other staff members have been very friendly whenever I come in for my free carwash or purchase accessories from the parts department.

I knew I wanted a MINI and inquired at nearly all the greater-LA dealerships. Amanda's response was the fastest, most thorough, most detailed, most professional, and most competitive out of all of them. I had a few questions about the new model year and she answered each of them succinctly and enthusiastically (you could tell she's owned a MINI Cooper or two). When talking about configuration options before finalizing order details and checking inventory, she provided her opinion when I asked for it but didn't add any pressure to add more options, even when I opened the door by asking if it might speed up delivery times (she was honest and said it wouldn't).I ended up ordering my car from the factory and Amanda was helpful in making sure I knew how to track it each step of the way. When my car was making its final journey from the port to the dealership, she gave me daily updates so I was able to pick the car up as soon as it was available, and made sure I knew what all the paperwork steps would be and what documents I'd need to be sure to bring. At delivery she walked me through the car and the process, and even threw in an unexpected couple of goodies at the end.South Bay MINI shares its location with South Bay BMW--I get the impression it's a large MINI dealership in an even larger BMW dealership, and while 95% of my interactions were with Amanda, the receptionist and other staff were attentive and quick to help. It is a dealership, so when you get to finance they will offer you add-ons like LoJack and extended warranty and maintenance contracts, but even that was done courteously.If anyone in the greater SoCal area is looking at buying a MINI, I'd wholeheartedly recommend they reach out to Amanda at South Bay MINI.

wow, what a disappointment. I have a 2002 mini that has 25,000 miles on it. I have taken very good care of it. I brought it in to have the driver's side window fixed.Immediately they launched into how I NEEDED 4 new tires...$640. I declined. After charging me $160 to look at my window, they told me it would need a new motor for the window (parts & labor $657),and they had checked out the car and it had an oil leek, suspension fix, several bolts were cracked, and the service guy just kept telling me it was because my car was OLD. I kid you not. Granted, I'm sure these were probably suggestions to make sure the car was in tip-top shape, but they made me feel like the car was going to collapse on the freeway and then burst into a firey inferno at any moment.I declined the extra service, and I was still in shock about how much the window was going to cost. When I picked the car up this morning, I found the plastic collar on my gear shift broken off and sitting helplessly on the passenger seat.I told the service attendant they needed to fix this, as the least they could do is return my car in the condition I brought in. He told me it was cracked to begin with, and it was a coincidence it broke off. I told him they should fix it, so he went to talk to the service manager who told him to super glue it back on. Which he did. I told him how unhappy I was, and he just kept telling me my car was old. Honestly, I don't think 6 years is an OLD car, I have done all scheduled maintenance and think I would have noticed an oil leak. As much as I am not that crazy about Universal City Mini, I will go back to them in a HEARTBEAT.

The service team acts friendly but is actually very difficult to work with and get a hold of. Also, the wait times are long and they are just not very helpful.But here's the real kicked. I own a mini, as does my mom. At 35,500 my mom took her car in for service, but she was not allowed to service it because the service indicator said she needed about 400 more miles to service.At 35,900 or so, the light came on. It was around Christmas, and my sister borrowed the car for two days. My mom took the car in when it had 36,090 miles and they said that they couldn't help because it was past service (!), even if it was 1 mile over service So the window was <100 miles over.I know that this was not true because when my car was 900 miles over they told me that they could help out as long as it was <100 miles. My mom ended up taking her car to Long Beach Mini, which helped her out.
