I've been very pleased with the level of service that I received from Smith imports. They have a great selection very nice used imports and I thoroughly enjoy the process of buying through Smith imports. There's no pressure while you browse a large selection of cars. They're very helpful if you have questions but they won't pressure you to make a decision. And I like that.

Purchase of 2014 SLK 250

Went by looked at a car felt that it was a good deal. Drive the 2008 S550 Mechanically seemed to be good. After second test drive I put a down payment on the vehicle. I found that it had some small problems with the vehicle. actually felt since being a previous satisfied customer this would not be an issue. spoke to Paula about the pockets on rear of both front seats. they were torn on the outer corners on both seats. the center console had ink all over it and the right rear speaker was busted. Paula agreed to have it looked at by the body shop. With only to come back and say they would only remove the ink. I ask to speak to Andy(the owner) who called me on the phone and left a message stating how stupid I was and that he with out checking the vehicle first was not going to repair anything. Because I was stupid. To turn the stereo up. I feeling very let down called him back. and he repeated what he said. but agreed to look at the vehicle, telling me he had a dealer waiting to purchase the vehicle in little rock. he stated he fix his cars no matter the cost, but returned saying he would not repair the vehicle. I realized that he wanted to dump the vehicle on another dealer and loose me as a stupid customer. I am very let down as a repeat customer who has sent many of my friends there. But never again. They maybe stupid just like me. When we lose focus of our customers we lose focus of everything!!!!!!

Exceptional buying experience!

At the end of July 2014 - after researching GL550's for nearly 6 months - I knew exactly what I was looking for, which was a used 2014 Lunar Blue Metallic with a light interior. My local Denver area dealer attempted to talk me into a 2012 G63 - nope, not for me! Since the local dealer wasn't listening I decided to let Google do the work for me. I found exactly what I was looking for on Smith Imports website. The following Monday I called and spoke with Paula who is simply one of the nicest car people I've ever worked with! By Tuesday evening I was completely financed. Thursday evening I arrived Memphis on a late flight (book a room at the nearby Marriott and use the shuttle service - nice hotel and nice people). Friday morning Paula picked me up at the hotel. Talk about awesome service. My Big Blue Bus (aka Blue) was waiting for me when we arrived. I was so excited to get behind the wheel and take her for a test drive that I could barely contain myself. The vehicle had just over 11k miles and unless you looked at the odometer you would never had known it was used - let alone a branded title vehicle. During the test drive Paula answered all of my questions without hesitation. She knows her vehicles and is proud to cell MB, which came through during the time we spent conversing about them. After completing my test drive and walkaround inspection Paula took me to see Rick to sign for Blue. I'm 100% certain I've never had a more enjoyable financing process. Thanks Rick! Prior to arriving in Memphis I decided not to have my vehicle transported back to Denver. I wanted to drive it to get to know it. The drive was meant to be a 2-day journey, but around Stillwater, OK I realized I wasn't ready to call it a night. Instead I continued on my journey and arrived home in the wee hours on Saturday. Why am I sharing this information? The GL550 Paula sold me is just that comfortable and safe! I drove for hours on end through 100+ degree heat and happily enjoyed the comfy ventilated seats with lumbar massage (will never own another vehicle without those features) and my water bottle stayed nice in cold in the cooling cup holders. The Harmon Kardon sound system is amazing. Blue's super quiet V8 bi-turbo engine rolled like the boss ride she is through 3 straight hours of torrential rains in the Colorado plains. I never once felt unsafe or uncomfortable. Bottom line: I absolutely recommend Smith Imports. Call and ask for Paula and if you need financing Rick will take care of you.

2012 Mercedes SLK 350

I knew what I wanted and had been searching the Internet for weeks before the car I wanted became available at Smith's 70 miles from me and I knew the price was right and it would sell quickly. Due to other commitment I couldn't pick the car up for three weeks so I had to make a substantial deposit based only on photos. I was nervous about that but reassured by the fact they had been in business a long time and the positive reviews. I dealt with Jim Leport and he was very straight forward and inspired confidence that I was dealing with a high quality company. The car was ready and immaculate. Jim was very patient in orienting my wife and I to the car's technology even though it was his lunchtime. Completing the transaction was a very welcome contrast to our recent experience with dealerships-no pressure,no unexpected charges,no delays. Out in twenty minutes. Papers for title and registration arrived correctly completed less than a week later. Absolutely the best car buying experience of my life. Highly recommended.

Positive Car Buying Experience

I recently purchased a 2009 E350 from Smith Imports. I found Smith based on a recommendation from a neighbor. The car I eventually purchased was priced competitively versus similar makes and models in the area where I live. I committed to deposit on the vehicle prior to seeing the car in person. I had never done this before with the car and was a little nervous. However, the car was in great condition and the photos proved to be a great representation of the car condition. Prior to making the deposit, I have mentioned to Smith that I would be traveling around 7 hours to pick up the car. At that point they were open and honest about a few cosmetic chips on the bumper which proved to be very minor in nature. I appreciated Smith's honestly with respect to this issue and also the no haggle competitive pricing they had furnished on their website. I highly recommend potential car buyers to utilize Smith in their next car buying experience. Based on my experience there is little to be concerned about with a remote purchase and I believe Smith's pricing is very competitive based on my research. Best Deal Around

I was looking to replace my wife's 2007 E-350 but could not find a deal anywhere within my budget. Smith Imports not only had vehicles within my budget, they have clean CARFAX late model vehicles. My salesman Rick was super knowledgeable, had excellent customer services skills, and was no nonsense. I was given a fair trade-in price and he was straight up with pricing. I was very impressed with their showroom vehicles. I felt like a kid in a candy store but managed to settle on a beautiful 2012 E-350 with an AMG trim kit. That is something I would not have been able to afford at the other dealers. I would definitely buy another vehicle from Andy Smith and his crew.

Got me a great deal

Just bought a used BMW 335i, and the experience couldn't have gone any better. Feel like I got a tremendous price on the vehicle, and then, when a couple of minor issues surfaced upon my inspection of the car, they were quick to go the full 9 yards and fix those items. Quality/First Class Service

We purchased SLK350 in which my wife fell in love with. I was very impressed with the inventory which included fairly new/used luxury vehicles. I have bought many vehicles in my lifetime, but have never experienced the customer service I received from Paula (Sales), Rick (Finance), and even the owner was very customer service friendly. Never a better car buying experience period

Today I bought my first Mercedes from Smith Imports. I have never been treated so well... they let me "hang out" in the car I chose for as long as I wanted .I played with all the gadgets.. moved all the knobs... I asked all the "girl" questions and was treated with the utmost respect. It was a relaxed atmosphere, almost like being at a family gathering. Very pleasant car buying experience!

I did most of the search and negotiation by internet. The salesperson, Grant, was thorough, professional and patient, as well as personable. I traveled by car close to 1,000 miles to visit the dealer and close on my transaction. Grant kept me company all along the way via texts and phone calls asking if everything was ok and offering to assist if needed. On the return trip, he did the same thing until I arrived home. The other employees of the dealership were just as friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again from Smith Imports.

Smith Imports - Memphis Tennessee

As a gift to myself for my 45th birthday I wanted an automobile. I started my search in June 2014, July 2014, and August 2014. I would come to Smith Imports every Saturday and walk through their showrooms. All of the employees were very nice. I was allowed an opportunity to take my time and select the car I wanted. I finally went inside the office to ask some questions and was greeted by Paul Keltner. She was very friendly and patiently assisted me with my questions. She provided me with her buisness card and expressed to me that I could contact her anytime with any further questions. Finally I selected a car and Paula rode with me for a test drive. Once I made my decision and selected a car Paula patiently waited for the all clear. She even assisted me with the all clear. I was introduced to Rick who calmly assisted the process of my automobile purchase further and always made himself available for questions. Great Buying Experience

My wife and I spotted the exact Mercedes we were hunting for on cars.com at Smith Imports in Memphis. We contacted the sales person, Grant, and he was very pleasant and informative about the car. After talking with Grant, we decided to drive the 480 miles from Oklahoma City to Memphis to take a closer look. While their facility does not look large from the front, there are actually 2 buildings in the back containing multiple high quality Mercedes vehicles for sale. All were late model and immaculately clean in excellent condition. Grant walked us around and answered questions. He was very low key and did not pressure us in the slightest to drive any particular vehicle. As a matter of fact, we asked him if we could test drive the car we had been looking at initially. He promptly gave us the key and allowed us to drive the car alone in private, which I prefer. After the test drive we went into the office to discuss the details of the sale. We made the decision to purchase the car and then met with Rick, the manager, to complete the sale. Rick was personable and professional, and was respectful of our time. The entire transaction was over in less than one hour and we shook hands with everyone and drove off the lot, pleased with the entire experience. The car drove perfectly on the way home. Everyone we met at Smith Imports was friendly, professional, and low key. I would recommend this dealership to anyone who wants a top quality luxury car at a fair price with good people to deal with.

It's all true

After reading the other reviews, I can say it's all true. Paula and Rick made my purchase so smooth and painless (unlike purchases from other dealers in the past). And when they say they offer competive loan rates, well thats true too. Chatted with Andy Smith about cars. You can tell he has a passion for cars, and Andy and his team are not just in it for the money, they truely love what they do. I only wish I had known about Smith Imports before my previous purchase, but I'll sure come to them for future purchases.

Not your typical salesmen.

We ran across the vehicle we wanted online and decided to just go over and take a look. The lot was laid out differently than most because the majority of the inventory was behind the main building. So we just drove back and looked around. No one approached us for a good while. Then we saw the sign on the door that said they weren't the kind of people that followed you around and badgered you. They were just there to help. Then Grant walked out, on his way to check out something else. All he asked us was if we would like him to go get us the key to the car we were looking at. It was really refreshing to have someone who really just wanted to lend a hand. He was genuinely interested in my family and helping us try out this particular vehicle. When we started talking details on the car he left the ball completely in my court the entire process. When Grant was unsure how to answer some of my questions, he called the seller on speaker phone and we talked through things together. The seller was gracious enough to let us take the car home overnight and test it with our 3 carseats that we were going to need space for. It was a perfect fit. Granted, I had preconceived ideas about how much the car was worth. But when we went to strike a deal the seller was very cooperative and showed me how he arrived at his asking price and how it was very competitive when we searched a 300 mile radius. Grant even went to the trouble of calling Toyota and getting a rundown of all the work that had been done to the car in the past. He gathered all of the details to give us a good understanding. Another great point is that we didn't feel slighted at all because we were buying a used car that's in a much lower price range than the majority of their inventory. We were looking for a family vehicle on a lot stocked with Mercedes. But they treated us like every other customer (from what I could tell). We left very confident that our purchase was the right choice for us and that this was a great place to get it from. The friendliness, honesty and courtesy made it such a great experience.

I was shopping for a NICE used car and Smith Imports was recommended by a friend. I looked at the inventory online and saw a car that I was very interested in. I called on a Friday....test drove it on Saturday....loan was approved by Monday morning and I picked the car up Monday afternoon. Paula and Rick were OUTSTANDING!!!!

A great xp for first time buyer!

First time buying a used car, and also Mercedes Benz. Grant was awesome and went over the top to help us check out all the cars we were interested in. Financing was a breeze. Went in and out within 1 and half hours (after checking out so many great cars!). All of their stock are certified quality and my "new" car is still under MB warranty. Wonderful Car and Easy Buying Process

We purchased a Mercedes Benz from Smith Imports on July 3, 2014. First of all, we really love our car and feel confident that it's a good vehicle since it's endorsed by Smith Imports. It's an earlier model and the quality of the vehicle makes it appear to be a later model. We had visited to look the cars over. The rest was worked via the phone. It was hassle free. The finance person at Smith secured two loan options. They also were able to offer extended warranty. Everything we asked for we got. Love My Car!

Just bought a car over the weekend. Had a little problem with the car when we arrived home, but Andy Smith did the right thing and made it right with my husband and I. He's a real stand-up guy and a man who really cares about doing the right thing for his customers. That probably explains why his business is such a success. I am very happy with our purchase and I LOVE my new car . . .:)) Our salesman, Grant, is a good, honest, hardworking guy, who is not pushy, but very helpful and really cares about making your transaction as pleasant as possible in helping you find what you are going to love to drive! I definitely recommend him! And I definitely recommend this dealership. I plan on coming back again if and when I am in the market to buy another car, and I plan on bringing my girlfriend there who will be in the market for a Mercedes-Benz in the not-so-far-off future.

Car Purchase Experience

As a "new to Mercedes brand" car owner, I was not familiar with the differences between the various models and features. I wanted assistance when I wanted it and otherwise, wanted the ability to look freely and not feel pressured by the sales person. That is exactly how it worked for me. When you arrive at the dealership, you get a sheet with a complete listing of their inventory, sorted by model, an identifying stock #, age of vehicle, mileage and price. The corresponding stock# is on the windshield of each vehicle, allowing you to shop comfortably within your price range and not requiring a sales person to stand over you. Similarly, when I had detailed questions, my sales person was nearby and was knowledgeable on everything I asked. It was a pleasant buying experience from beginning to end. I would recommend that if you see a car you really want, move on it quickly. I followed their website daily for a couple of months while I was evaluating which model I was most interested in purchasing. And I was amazed at how quickly their inventory would reflect a "deposit" or "sold" notation across the inventory listing.

Exceeded expectations and went above and beyond !!

I have to say this is my first car buying experience with smith imports and 10th car I have owned. And I will never buy another car anywhere else!! They have my business for life. Easy Service

Love doing business with Andy and the folks at Smith Imports. They are authentic, service-oriented and easy to do business with. Just had a "Service D" performed on my S550 and they came to my office, picked up the car, serviced it, washed it and returned it to me before close of business. 'Nuff said.

I purchased my '13 C300 in November. Ethan, Andy, and Rick were all very helpful and transparent about their investment in the car. I spoke to Ethan on the phone to ensure the car was still there before I drove down from nearly 4 hours away on a Saturday. Ethan put a SOLD sign on the dash and had it ready for me to test drive and buy when I arrived. The car was exactly as described and is all I hoped it would be. Why do Business with Smith Imports

I became a Smith customer 3 years ago as a recommendation from a friend who had been dealing with Andy for some time. I was in the market for an "E" series and had spent considerable time on the internet researching and finding the car I wanted. I told Ralph, my sales rep at the time what I wanted and within 2-3 weeks, Andy personally called me from the auction to tell me he found a car he thought I would like. I wanted a E350 but when the E550 he bought showed up it went home with me. Smith Imports has serviced my car for 3 years and all my warranty repairs went thru their shop. Even when I had a chunk of metal hit my car and smashed the front end the Smith body shop did the work and it looked like a brand new car when they were done. Everytime it came back from service it was washed and cleaned inside and out. I can say enough about the service group. Darrell and Todd in service are some of the best I have ever dealt with. I had a very serious issue with my pano roof and these guys went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND to get it fixed. I don't want this to sound like a negative this is actually a HUGE positive in my book. They wrestled with that roof and finally they sent it to MB Memphis on their dime to get it fixed and paid for my rental the entire time. That is the exact reason I went back to them for my 2010 E550 4-MATIC I just bought. I was wrestling with my own bank and Rick in Finance had me approved inside of 15 minutes and Ms. Paula had the car washed and ready for me to pick up. I was in and out, paperwork signed and done in under 30 minutes. Even the owner Andy went on my test drive with me. What a company, It is worth the drive to go see these guys. I can't say enough about them. I am definitely a Smith customer for life.

I had an excellent car buying experience at Smith Imports thanks to Grant and Rick. Grant was awesome, he answered all questions and took time to explain all the many features of the vehicles. I first contacted Grant in August 2013. After some research I decided on the car I wanted to buy. It took until December 2013 for Smith Imports to get the vehicle I wanted. During this time Grant kept in touch but without being a nuisance.I ended up financing with Smith Imports and the process was easy and fast. I was in and out of the dealership in under two hours. Mercedes E350

I just spent about 20 minutes writing a very lengthy and detailed review of my buying experience with Smith Imports only to have everything wiped out by an inadvertent key-stroke. Cars.Com should check their software program and a pop-up that says "Are you sure you want to delete this review?". So this one will not be nearly as long as the last but I want to personally thank Grant West and Andy Smith for their excellent selection of pre-owned late model Mercedes, their professionalism via phone, internet and in-person and, of course, their aggressive pricing. I live in Oklahoma City and have driven nothing but Mercedes cars for the last twenty years. None of which have been purchased in Oklahoma City. I used to try to buy locally but when the same model Mercedes (E-350) car is the same price in OKC for a 2011 car (with more miles) than the 2013 car at Smith imports, perhaps you can understand why. If they don't have your car, they will find it for you-they did for me!!!! Slow roll your payment and maybe Grant will spring for lunch at one of the local Memphis BBQ spots like he did for me. Over a 5 Star experience!!!!

Great Selection and Expert Staff

Paula, Rick, and Andy were the most helpful and expert car people I have worked with in the present or the past. Their attention to detail assured me the S600 I was buying was as good a pre-owned Mercedes as could be bought anywhere. Although this was the first car I have bought from Smith Imports, I have had multiple friends recommend them and I have to agree, Smith Imports is a quality company. I will be using them again.

I had the pleasure of dealing with Paula from Smith Imports, to purchase a smart car from the dealership. She was such a hospitable person and she went way above and beyond to insure a great experience. I flew in from Cincinnati and they provided a ride in a particularly stylish Mercedes. Tremayne, the gentleman who picked me up from the airport was super nice and got me there without a scratch! The dealership has a great inventory from what I observed and the pricing is extremely fair. Rick, the gentleman who helped with paperwork was very nice and they even gave me some freebies (a flashlight, key chain and pen) for me its those small things that count. Recently bought a Mercedes C300 and I love it! I saw it on the website (always up-to-date) and went right to it. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Great people and great experience

I've been looking for a used Corvette for several months and most of my experiences have been with pushy sales people trying to force me to buy dirty used cars. Then I ran across Smith Imports in Memphis TN. WOW is all I can say.. now they're not located in the most upscale area, but they know how to take care of a customer. When I pulled into the lot I didn't know what to expect, but when Grant W. (Great salesman) took me to the building with the cars, WOW is all I could say. They really do take pride in their cars, even though they were all used, they shined inside and out like new. That's when Grant showed me the Corvette... what a beauty. They never talked down to me, they never acted like I didn't belong and most of all, they treated me like they knew me. It took me several days and a few test drives to finally make the leap, but from start to finish the entire Smith Imports team took care of me. This by far was the best experience I've ever had purchasing a car. A few days later, they sent me a Thank You card for shopping with them, a hand written thank you card at that. You just don't see this kind of personal service anymore.

This is a great place to go if you are looking for quality and great customer service. My husband and I were looking for a vehicle and never considered a Mercedes. After his coworker suggested us to go to Smith Imports and look, we decided to research the dealer online. Relaxed atmosphere, no pressure

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very fair on their prices and willingness to work with you. No pressure sales tactics, which was very nice. Buying a car is usually so stressful but not at Smith Imports, my experience was very pleasant. Facility is pretty small but makes the experience more friendly and easy, no hiking across a huge lot of cars. If you're looking for a used Mecedes, I highly recommend Smith Imports in Memphis.

Great Experience

I had the best car buying experience ever with Smith Imports. I'm in my 50's and consumated my Mercedes purchase on February 8th. I live in Virginia so my interactions were remote. They gave info, pictures and suported my multiple questions and requests. When I flew in they picked me up from the airport. They allowed me all the time I wanted to complete my final inspections etc. Financials went as expected with no surprises. The staff is very professional and they exceeded my expectations. There was no pressure to buy and it was clear that they wanted me as a customer to be completely satisfied. I would definitely recommend Smith Imports to anyone!

Wonderful experience
