Be very careful when dealing with the service dept. They told me a lot items that needed to be done on my 2014 Ram I bought from them new. Found out after having the maintenance done that the owners manual recommendations were total different. I trusted them before I checked into it so I guess I am to blame as much as they are. Will always second guess what they tell me from now on. They also put 10 miles on it when I left it for service. ??? The purchasing process was a very good experience. My salesman Chad was excellent to work with. Highly recommend Chad when purchasing a vehicle but would not trust the service dept.

In our search for my daughters first car purchase, this was our last stop. We searched for weeks at dealerships around the area. One stop here an the search was over. Matt helped us from test driving to driving it off the lot. I have never had a better, more knowledgeable sales person. He explained every detail about the car before the test drive right down to the fine details of the owners manual after purchase. He made sure she was comfortable making this decision, and that it was the right choice for her. Her first major purchase couldn't have been a better experience, thanks to Matt's knowledge, patience, and understanding. Although we both still love the car she purchased, we still havent figured out if it was the car itself that won us over, or the excellent salesperson. Now several months after the purchase we had to reach out to him due to a collision to the rear end of her car. Matt took time out of his day to check in when she brought her car for inspection. Its the extra effort like this, that makes a return customer. Although he has already made the sale, he is still following up with good customer service.

I purchased a used van from Jacob, who was absolutely wonderful. My family and I was in and out quickly, and the whole process was very pleasant. After driving the van approximately 300 miles I heard front brakes sqealing. Took it to my local mechanic and was informed that the front pads were 8% left. I have now called S & l four times, with a promise of action; and in the meantime I am hardly using van because of worn out pads...

My husband and I just purchased our 2nd vehicle from S&L Motors. We had the pleasure to work with an Outstanding Person: Lucas Johnson. The transaction went very smooth. The Purchase agreement was everything Lucas had said it would be. There were no surprises. Lucas is a very nice person - enjoyable to work with- I actually was at the Dealership getting service on my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica, when I went to look for Lucas to discuss trading or vehicle in on a van. He said he would take care of it and he did. This was such an easy process and no frustrations. Lucas is a very fair and honest person and he is so easy to talk to. We absolutely felt no pressure. I had a great experience at S&L with Jacob as my salesman. He was probably the most laid back salesman I have ever dealt with and I really appreciated that. He was very low pressure, gave my wife and I time to think about the purchase and ultimately gave me a fair deal when the time came. When I purchased the vehicle the driver mirror was cracked. He told me they would fix and gave me a loaner vehicle until my truck was ready. (I won't hold the fact Jake gave me a mini-van as a loaner against him!) I recently bought a used vehicle from S & L Motors - and I worked with Dan and Frank! The service was good however I was slightly disappointed. I traveled about 2 hours one way to get the vehicle the price was not negotiable and when the deal was final - I asked if a full tank of gas could be thrown in since I traveled 2 hours one way and because the price was set in stone, and was told that it was not allowed. They are sold with a 1/4 tank - I figured it was the least they could have done for me.

S&L Motors does it again. This is the 2nd care we have purchased from the dealership. Both times we have worked with Dan. He just does a super job. He is open and friendly and he has a memory that impresses. Dan explained everything in detail and I left knowing everything I needed to know in order to make my choice of vehicle. It was a pressure situation at all, it was in fact very comfortable when dealing with Dan. The finance people explained everything throughly and I knew exactly what was what.

Bought a used truck from S&L a few years back. Salesperson told me I could get $XXX for my trade-in. Agreed to the purchase. Went into the finance dept., where Frank proceeded to try to undercut that $$number by $2000. Should have been a "red-flag" to the dealership. Went back a week after truck purchase to pick-up a trailer hitch that was back-ordered & was included in original purchase. They tried to charge me for it...hhmmmm walked past my salesperson from a week past -no acknowledgement at all. Yes-just a "number" after the sale it seems !! Went into the service department this April for a noise in the back axle. They told me it was tire noise. (but they did give me a full list of items needed to be done-that weren't covered under warranty) Went and got tires rotated.... noise was still there. Waited 3 months and went back in. Dropped truck off on Monday am. Got a call later in day, that rear axle, transmission, power steering rack seals were all leaking. In addition to a front strut leaking. All parts would need to be ordered.... turns out they were all back-ordered. Truck sat in the shop for 8 days, til following Tuesday -parts came in. They proceeded to fix truck, only to find out shims were needed -so those had to be ordered now. 2 more days of waiting..... Truck was supposedly fixed on Thursday night (10 days after dropping off). Had to pay $105 for the warranty deductible. Proceeded to drive the truck home, when I still noticed noise in the rear end when I let up on the gas & when coming up to a stop sign. Strut was never replaced either -still on back order. Called and left a message for the service manager -who still hasn't returned my call !! Took the truck to a different dealer to get it repaired.

Last summer I wrote a glowing report about S & L Motors in Pulaski, Wisconsin for cars.com, and like many other things in my misspent lifetime, it was a mistake. But I didnt know it at the time. My wife and I were (and still are) happy with our Chrysler 200. Its when you reach the point of needing service that you see that side of the dealership, and in our case it was a sobering experience. We took the car to the dealership in December after a car wash ripped the antenna off. S & L Motors simply replaced the antenna, and I had to bring the car back in a second time to get the dented, buckled roof and the loose antenna mount repairs completed, including the repainting. All this after a new estimate, and at a cost three times their original estimate. And during this time the insurance wanted to know why it wasnt handled properly the first time. Nobody at S & L Motors or their service department ever gave me an explanation why. And now they are recommending I have my oil changed every 3,000 miles, or every three months, a change rate of almost four times what the manufacturer recommends. Gosh, I wonder why they would possibly want me to do that? The manufacturer says the auto will indicate when it is time for an oil change. I asked Julie at S & L Motors service department if my car will tell me I should have the oil changed in 3,000 miles. No. She said. Then I asked her why. She didnt answer. So I did what I thought would clear things up: I called Chad Krah, the salesman who sold us the car. You know, he said, You go through a lot of trouble to build a rapport with the customer, and then this happens. Im going to talk to the powers that be, and then Im going to get back to you. And then he said those three words that let me know I was talking to the right man: Count on it! That was on June 16, and Im still sitting here holding my breath. I think Ill exhale now. Im just a sappy, easy going, good-natured guy who believes strongly in honesty and integrity, two virtues sadly lacking in too much of todays business climate. You know, profit over all else. My wife and I will have the next three oil changes performed at S & L Motors because they are free though they will certainly not be every 3,000 miles. Our car will let us know. We will go to a different dealership for all future service, and when we purchase our next car it will not be at S & L Motors. Count on it.

The experience both times was great and I truly believe that S&L does their best to inspect every vehicle to ensure you get what you were hoping for.... Used car buying is stressful at best, because you are never sure what you are getting... So far so good with S&L and although there are no guarantees I feel like if something goes wrong at this point with either car, it wasn't due to being sold a "lemon" - it's just luck of the used car draw... I'm all out of children to buy cars for now, but if had any left - I would definitely look at S&L's inventory, and call Dan first... Steve

S&L Motors has the best quality of service to there customers it truly is top notch. They conduct true genuine honest salesmanship. I called Dan Kwilinski to let him know I was very interested in his 2009 fully loaded Ford Fusion. While on the phone with Dan, the Ford Fusion had just left the lot for a test drive. Dan was so kind and allowed me to save the car if I was able to put down a few hundred. Long story short 3days later I drove from Fargo ND to Pulaski WI. I had been searching and searching for the best deal and Dans dealership gave it to me. I felt right at home when i came in. I highly recommend an 8 hour drive to this dealership, you cant go wrong. I am for sure a life time customer at S&L Motors.

I have lived in the Wausau area for almost 20 years and during that time have gone through nearly that many cars. It's always the same story over and over, seems like a good deal until after the fact...then I realize once again, probably shouldn't have done that. A friend of mine had me come with when he traded his Charger on a Ram 1500 last summer and got a great deal, sales staff (Bob Kapla specifically) were great and it was the easiest transaction I ever witnessed. I was in the market again after a 6 year hiatus from dealerships. I shopped around the Wausau area and it was the typical buy now or else from a few salesmen at the big dealers...nope, no thanks. I took my 2007 Sebring to Pulaski after a short phone conversation with Bob Kapla last October and traded on a 2012 300 Limited...fantastic experience once again. Bob worked me in the small window I had that day to fit me in his schedule, stayed later than he planned so he could see the deal through and make sure everything was taken care of. The car is fantastic and I've gotten so many compliments on it. I always try to give a reference and tell people it's worth the drive. Kudos to S&L for professionalism, laid back atmosphere and seriously zero pressure sales. I will definitely go back again when I can afford a newer, lower mileage 300 with AWD and Navi...thanks again.

AMAZING!!! Dan Kwilinski is AWESOME!!! The utmost best car buying experience we've ever had! If I ever had something to sell I would NOT let Dan sell it, we got such a good deal, I wouldn't make a profit! LOL I have FibroMyalgia & it gets worse every year, it's getting real hard to get in & out of a car, so I had my mind set on an SUV with a sunroof. We looked locally & just couldn't find anything in our price range. Hubby went to Maplewood & stopped in at S & L Motors & ran into Dan, they did their thing, & hubby came home & said " I found the perfect vehicle for you" he said it was a "HATCHBACK"& NO sunroof, YUK I DON'T want a hatchback, I WANT an SUV & I am pretty spoiled & usually get my way. ;) SO he says lets go look at it & take it for a ride, well I already had a mindset of hating the "hatchback", so we get there & I seen it, scrunched my nose & said well can we at least just look at the SUVs? so we did, they were either out of our price range or had a few too many miles for our liking. So he says well then I guess we'll have to look elsewhere later on, & he said "well let's take it for a ride (the hatchback) as long as we're here. Well once I got in it, it was pretty cool, I wouldn't admit it but I did kinda like it. He drove a couple miles & let me drive it back. OK I was WRONG, I DID like it, BUT I still wanted a sunroof & I told him, with the price on the vehicle it would be a grand or so more & I wanted one, so I was gonna ask Dan when we went in. So we went in & pretty much broke Dan down. Today I am driving a 2011 Dodge Caliber Mainstreet, WITH an automatic sunroof!!! YEAH ME!!!!! I am very happy! (& I must say I look pretty hot in that car too :) So THANK YOU Dan, you are the first salesperson to EVER get me to change my mind on something I was set on. Dan is a great guy we talked for hours & discovered we had a lot in common, If I'da let them, my husband & Dan woulda sat there all night laughin & sharin stories :) Definitely found a new friend also. :) Get the grill & steaks ready soon Dan, we're comin over!!!

After not having purchased a vehicle for 18 years (still driving an original owner Geo with 270,000 original miles), I decided it was time to take the splurge and move on to another vehicle, though I could hardly afford a brand new one. I informed Dan Kwilinski, the salesman, that I was anxious because of past used vehicle experiences in which I was burned. He assured me that they wouldn't do that to me. And true to his word, after test driving an 06 Jeep that I decided to purchase, I requested some items checked and repaired prior to finalizing the purchase. Both vehicles I requested to check out were brought inside with the weather being sub-zero. And both Dan and Don were very helpful, and I would gladly recommend them as a source for purchasing a used vehicle.

By far THE BEST dealership we've been to. Absolutely no sales pressure! (unlike a few others). Very informative and to the point. The shopping experience was a pleasure. It was Jacob Waters and Frank Bennett who helped us out and they are phenomenal people. Very respectful, polite and most of all genuine people who made it happen for us. They were very understanding of our situation and made it a comfortable buying experience. And its not just the staff, S & L also has some real good inventory of cars (new and used) and all very well maintained. We visited the dealership after a snow storm and was surprised to see that all the cars in their lot were clear of snow and spotless. It just shows their good workmanship. If we need to buy another car or know of people looking to buy a car, S & L would be the place we will direct them to.

I went on line on a Friday at about 5:00 P.M. to look at truck pricing and see what was available. Ended up on S&L Motors website they had 1.9% interest peeked my interest. Had a live chat which connected me with Dan Kwilinski the Internet & Leasing manager. Dan was able to answer all my question and was able to set an appointment with us for Saturday morning. When we arrived the vehicle we were interested in was parked out front warmed up and ready for a test drive to make a long story short we purchased the vehicle and drove it home same day. It was a very busy day and I ended up late for my appointed time, but everyone was helpful and willing to help. Dan was friendly and not flustered by all that was happening at once. I did most of my arrangements online through email and that made the actual buying time very short. Randy in financing was most helpful with all that paperwork, too. We were in the market for a newer Jeep GC Limited after selling my 02. We had a list of 5 that we wanted to look at on a drive down to the Green Bay area. S & L was our second stop and last. I had both emailed and spoken to Dan Kwilinski prior to the trip. When we arrived, the one owner 07 Jeep GC Limited was sitting at the front door ready for the test drive. Everything checked out as stated on the internet. Beautiful, low mileage, one owner and decked out with all the items on our wishlist. Dan was knowledgeable and answered all questions we had. Most of all, we never felt pressured into buying this vehicle. We will return when it is time to replace my wife's car. PS: The only disappointment we had is that the gas tank was only 1/4 full. In the past when buying cars from a dealership, we drove away with a full tank. Especially helpful when setting out on the 150 mile trip home.

Well when I set up an appointment to pick up my used truck that I bought, therefore my salesman knew I was coming. When I got there he seemed surprised that I was there, and he forgot my name - he had no idea. When I drove with my truck away the gas tank maybe had a quarter of a tank of gas, very disappointing. I have bought many new and used vehicles and they always have a full tank of gas when you depart the lot. And finally I purchased a used 1/2 ton Ford truck and they charged me an additional 22.00 due to the fact they put the wrong plates on my truck. And now they want me to sign some waiver to put the correct weight limit plates on my truck. Not impressed with these guys, will never go back to S&L Motors again. I had heard some good things about these guys. However I did not see it.

Wow is all I can say. We went there after seeing the truck we purchased on line, we pulled into the lot and found the truck. The doors were unlocked so that you could actually look at the inside and the keys were in it so that you could hear it run.........HOLY COW!!!!!!!! The best part was that we could actually look at it, hear it and NOT be smothered by 50 salesman trying to get a commission. We liked what we saw, so we went inside and talked with Dan, who was more than helpful, explained all the features, how all the gadgets worked, and even asked how much gas was in the tank............HOLY COW. Keep in mind we had been looking at trucks all day, getting responses like, well the style your looking for is not in demand, well good luck, and my favorite, guess you'll have to keep searching. Dan was amazing, you never felt pressured and he sure didn't make you feel like your wants were not important. He even went above and beyond to get a hitch for the truck that my husband wanted. We will recommend S&L Motors to everyone.

We were in the market for a newer truck. Our local dealership (in Escanaba, MI), had what we were looking for, but they were impossible to work with and we left there highly irritated. We got home and began looking online and found a truck at S&L that was almost perfect. It was after hours, so I sent an email inquiry asking for more information. Dan Kwilinski contacted me first thing the next day. We emailed back and forth several times before my husband called, spoke to him about our trade-in and made arrangements for us to test drive the vehicle...during Dan's scheduled vacation, I might add. We arrived, test drove the vehicle while they looked over our trade-in and less than an hour later we were driving off the lot in our new truck. We drove 110 miles ONE WAY to purchase this vehicle and are planning to drive that far again to go back and deal with Dan and S&L Motors when it time for me to upgrade my vehicle. Treating people with respect will earn you their business even if they have to go out of their way to get to you and Dan and S&L Motors earned ours. We had visited several dealerships looking to purchase a mustang. Went to S&L Motors to test drive a Boss Mustang that was priced very reasonably. We were greeted promptly by Jacob, who was very friendly and helpful. When we got back from the test drive, we told Jacob that it was not quite what we wanted. He asked me to sit in the Dodge Challenger, and showed me some of the features. We took the Challenger SRT8 for a short drive and really liked the car. The next week Jacob allowed us to take the vehicle home for the day so we could really look it over, which was very helpful. We started negotiating for a fair price with a trade in vehicle and fixing a couple minor things on the Challenger. They were not able to fix the Challenger before we picked it up so we had to bring it back for the repair. Over all it was a good experience and we would definitely see Jacob in the future.

I've had very good buying experiences with a few different Green Bay-area dealerships but I had not had any experience with S&L when I arrived to look at a vehicle that they were advertising online. In hindsight, I should've stuck with the dealers that I was familiar with. From the moment we arrived on site, despite arriving with my own financing, the salesman talked down to me the whole time and treated me like he was doing ME a favor by selling me a vehicle. Despite what we felt was poor service, we really liked the vehicle that we were purchasing, so we went ahead with it. When we arrived the next day to pick-up the vehicle, the gas tank was almost empty and because it was raining we found out on the way home that the windshield wiper blades were almost completely detached. Neither of these were that big of a deal, but it pretty much exemplifies the sort of service that we received. The icing on the cake came when the DVD player, which was one of the deciding features that put this vehicle over some of the other models in the area, did not work. During the test drive, we turned the player on and confirmed that it turned on, but we did not actually put a DVD in until we got home only to find out that the player no longer read discs. I notified the dealership two days after purchase, and the salesman didn't even know who I was when I contacted him. He told me he would look into it and call me back that night. A week later I called him back, and he still didn't have an answer. When he did provide me an answer it was very rude, illogical (even for a non-mechanically inclined person like myself) and clearly not a sincere effort to resolve the issue. Considering the DVD player was an after-market model, and a cheap one at that, I probably would've been fine with so much as an apology, but of course that was too much to ask. I will not go back, not even for service. I will admit that an experienced buyer with a more critical eye would catch many of these issues, but I did not and I'm pretty sure they saw me coming from a mile away. Unless you're a stickler with a great attention to detail, or someone who is desperate to be taken advantage of, I would stay away from this dealer. The ONLY reason I am giving it two stars instead of one, is that despite the non-functional DVD player, we are relatively happy with the vehicle that we purchased.

I found a car that my husband and were interested in on cars .com. When we went to the dealership, we waited 10 minutes before anyone even approached us. When a salesperson did finally approach us, he was very disorganized when we stated we would like to test drive a vehicle. (May I say their was only one other couple in the office at this time). After the test drive, we found multiple things wrong with the vehicle and consulted with the salesperson, he was rude and argued with me on the things that were wrong with the car, I found it very rude and disrespectful, to me it is an importance on having an emergency break with a standard transmission. I've heard bad things about S&L Motors but I bought I would give them a chance, well not again. It is hard enough trying to find a car you like without having someone be very rude, it can really discourage a person.

We bought a used Jeep from S&L in 2010 after researching available vehicles in a 50 mile radius around Green Bay. We found their price to be the best in the area and Dan Kliwinski's assistance with the purchase was very helpful. When we decided to purchase a new Jeep in 2013, we again researched vehicles all around Northeast Wisconsin. Because of the positive experience we had with Dan in 2010, we contacted him for assistance. Dan was amazing! We never felt pressured by the usual "sales pitch" that many salesmen employ. Dan showed us multiple vehicle options and addressed all of our questions and concerns. When we chose our new Jeep, the price was fair. The entire vehicle purchase experience with Dan Kliwinski and S&L Motors was great. I would recommend this dealership to everyone!

My wife and I went in because of a promotional mailing we received. Initially we were just looking around but the salesman (Dan) was so accommodating and willing to work with us on pricing an finding the right vehicle that we ended up leaving with a 2012 Chrysler 300 Limited with 28,000miles on it. There were a few times that we felt a little lost in the wind waiting to move forward with our dealer interaction, but as it was extremely busy ( I assume due to the promotion they were running) I do not fault the salesman. Back in June I went to S&L motors in need of purchasing a vehicle THAT DAY!! My Jeep Cherokee had major engine problems and was no longer an option. From the minute I contacted Dan Kwilinski via text message, he was constantly there to answer any questions I had. He called to confirm our appointment time and had the vehicle I was interested in waiting there first thing in the morning. He suggested that I test drive a few different makes and models and had great knowledge about gas mileage and performance of each vehicle I was considering. He also used my Jeep as trade in value and offered the towing at no charge. Later that day I drove off the lot in a 2009 Dodge Nitro and have Dan to thank for it!!

I initially contacted the dealer in regards to leasing a 2012 Town & Country. I did receive an odd email late in the same day asking if I got everything I need, more seeming like it was a reply intended for another individual (it wasn't even signed). I did respond that I hadn't received a response yet regarding my question, and rec'd no further communication, even a sorry that it was sent in error. It was then days later before I was contacted again. Maybe it's just me in this day and age of technology but if you are going to play in the online interactive space your replies better be close to instant, but at least within 24hrs. Or at least that is my expectation, maybe I'm crazy. I solely do ALL of my research and buying from the internet, with very few exceptions, so if I contact you I'm very serious in making a purchase. Once Dan K. responded he was quick to get me the information I was looking for. And was very pleasant to email with and helped me overlook my initial negative reaction. It was down to trying to determine if it would be worth trading in or selling outright and just purchasing. In order to do so, I was trying to get a rough idea on what they would give me as a trade-in. I understand that it's not confirmed until in person, but was looking for more of a ballpark to determine if it was even worth my while to continue to pursue the trade-in option and come into the dealership. I have yet to receive a response at all with either a ballpark, to ask for more info, or to ask when I could come in. That was over a week ago. Very disappointing. I was already a qualified and interested buyer (I didn't even need a test drive). It was as simple as coming in to close the deal if we could have come to a fair trade-in value... Now, I will probably try and sell outright now and then purchase elsewhere, or simply just keep what I got. I'm typically a "new car" person so this could have been a life-long purchasing relationship along with all my service work.

We went to S&L to test drive minivans to get a feel for the make & model we wanted. We were just going to test drive. We ended up finding a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan we liked so we took it for a couple hours to see if it would survive our family. We came back & decided to purchase it. Dan Kwilinski(salesman) went to run our numbers for financing and came back to let us know for just $10 more a month we would be able to drive off in a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. There was no pressure from him he just thought he would test it out for us. We were very happy about this an purchased the 2012. He, also, took the time to chat with our boys(5&7) and make them popcorn. While we went out to simply test drive we came home the same day with our new van. The week following has been awesome & a follow up visit to get a hitch put on is already in place. Thank you S& L and Dan for the AWESOME customer service. You rock!

After purchasing my slightly used Toyota Highlander SUV from S/L, I waited almost two months to post this review. Why? Just to ensure they kept up on any post sales issues. Nothing worse than writing a stellar review, to have an issue weeks later and no one to assist. Well...... LOOKING AT A CAR: LOVED my SUV. Got a GREAT deal. Worked with Dan - VERY responsive to questions - answered phone or called back in a VERY timely manner. Very knowledgable on the car, the price, gave me Carfax, was overall pleased as punch. THE SALE: Worked with Dan. Not high pressure. Got a good deal, I really shopped from Green Bay to Fond du Lac looking for pretty specific stuff. Thought Bergstrom would be the one to win my business, but no.....S/L BEAT THEIR PRICE and I actually liked that Dan was not the slick sales type you see at Bergstrom. He seems to be a regular guy that sells cars. No pressure. DAY OF SALE Car was ready as promised. They worked VERY hard to get the best financing (1.9% on a USED CAR). I only went with my bank because they beat their financing - but hey.....1.9% is GREAT! I went with the extended service plan - glad I did. No, I haev NOT had issues. But for $1600 I have four years of bumper to bumper coverage - it is insurance and peace of mind. FINAL SUMMARY: S/L is out of the way. It is not in a convenient locale. But, the drive was ABSOLUTELY worth it. Had a slight problem with the extended warranty, they corrected it IMMEDIATELY. I was VERY happy with this experience. Would highly recommend S/L and Dan. Thanks, S/L, for the great experience!!! I WILL BE BACK!!!
