Bob's initial proposal was not translated to the Credit Manager as we agreed. Be careful. Don't assume Bob has made sure his proposal was correctly written in the final contract.Additionally, my plates were to be transferred. This did not happen. I was shopping around for an family van. After watching the TV adds on the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, I went to the same dealership where I bought my first car. Here I was greeted by a very friendly guy called John Cola. He showed me the van and answered all my questions. Since I didn't have time to do a test drive, we agreed to meet on the following day. I did the test drive with John and we talked about a really good deal that Salerno Duane was offering. John was very patient and showed me all the different options. Each Chrysler Pacifica in the deal came with a different package. John advise me on what package was best for me and my lifestyle. Long story short, it was getting late and I wanted to close on the deal on that day due to my hectic schedule. John and the Finance Manager, Andreas were very accommodating and stayed after business hours to close the deal with me and I left with my new Chrysler Pacifica. John really went though hoops to make it happen and have me leave with my new car. At that time, most of the staff was left so John had to multi task (i.e. get out the exact van I wanted from the lot, fill up the tank, etc.). I've had many buying experiences and I have never met someone as committed as John. He's really focused on the customer and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him in the future.

I worked with Bob Cerza at the Summit Ford Dealership. Because of his professionalism, and great knowledge of his product he made leasing a car a positive experience and not a dreaded one. He is honest, trustworthy, kind, direct and to the point. He treats you the same way he would treat his own daughter if she were the one buying a car, I live in Summit as does my entire family and most of us are now or have been employed by the City of summit all of our working lives!! There is no place else I would go to or recommend family and friends to go to purchase or lease a car. Bob has made this experience a relaxing and enjoyable one. He does not strong arm his customers, he is always honest about cost and what is the best car for your money. Went online in the morning to inquire about returning my leased Explorer and getting another one. I was given three dealers in the area to contact. Salerno Duane was the only one to call the next hour and their internet salesperson set me up to meet a rep at 2 pm that afternoon. I walked in and was greeted by Bob Cerza. All I can say is that Bob was BY FAR the best Ford salesperson I have ever met. I couldn't get over the fact that my buying experience was comfortable, friendly, and most important of all I wasn't pressured in any way. I have leased five explorer's over the years and my only regret is that I wish I would have met Bob years ago. I also met the dealership manager and the credit manager. Both of these gentleman were top notch professionals. Bottom line is that I felt I got a very reasonable deal on the vehicle WITHOUT the usual nonsense associated with buying or leasing a new vehicle. I certainly will tell everyone looking for a vehicle to visit Salerno-Duane !

Reviewed used car with sales consultant and later attempted to verify features on the vehicle with and here is my communication: 1. The 5 digit factory code needed to program the SecuriCode Keyless Entry Keypad was never provided with your attempt to resolve it by saying: "There is usually a plastic card the size of a credit card that has the 5-digit SecuriCode Keyless Entry Code. That card is normally in your Owner's Manual Kit. If it is not there we can get the code for you, but we need to physically have the car for about 15 minutes to access the code. Once that code is determined you can then change the code to any 5 - digit number" The card was not in the vehicle and I should drive 100 miles to have you provide it.2. After you personally demonstrated the Hands-Free Liftgate Operation on the vehicle I bought and my inability to later duplicate it you then tell me: "The Escape Titanium does have the Hands Free Lift Gate. You need to have the Key Fob within a few feet of the vehicle. Then simply use a slight kicking / sweeping motion with your foot under the rear bumper and the Lift Gate will open"And after repeated attempts and contact you then then tell me:"I checked your specific vehicle through our Service Manager for the options in question: 1) Does not have the Hands Free Lift gate. This was a "late availability" option for the 2014 model year meaning that it was not available when your vehicle was manufactured". Your demo of the feature was a good trick that I too can duplicate with the key in my hand.3. After meeting you and describing the reason for my desire to purchase a vehicle to assist me at 77 years old with rear view camera, front and rear sensors and Blind Spot Information System I find out from you after purchasing the vehicle and attempting to engage the features you tell me: "I checked your specific vehicle through our Service Manager for the options in question: 2) Does not have the electronic Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). The vehicle does have the embedded blind spot mirror in each side-view mirror.The worse is Salerno Duane's offer to BuyBack the vehicle and that too is now a nightmare:Not withstanding my attempt to accommodate the return and agreed Buyback of the vehicle I am told this morning, after driving over 100 miles and leaving the vehicle in the possession of Salerno Duane, that the refund amount of $22,270.41 can not be paid until I receive the title and sign it over to Salerno Duane. That the described offer of Buyback and my two notifications of the date of the return of the vehicle never once prompting the Sale Consultant to notify me of that fact is totally unacceptable, especially considering that the vehicle was accepted by Salerno Duane and remains in their possession In addition I was also told that any attempt for Salerno Duane to intercede with DMV was not possible due to the Columbus Day holiday. Again, not withstanding my acceptance of the Buyback offer in writing given October 6th, no attempt was made by Salerno Duane to contact DMV at that time permitting them to proceed with their offer and refund my purchase today 4 days after accepting the offer. Again, unacceptable and further proof of the total disregard of any consideration of the buyer.Needless to say the unprofessional behavior and failure to abide by their commitment to complete the buyback of the vehicle today was already evident in the entire purchase experience as I noted in the numerous issues raised by me since the purchase which remained unresolved with false and incorrect statements made by the Sales Consultant, which I am attachingI cannot accept that I legally have no vehicle, no proof of ownership and no refund of my purchase price. That Salerno Duane has

my experience was very nice while working with Bob Montgomery answered all my questions and helped out as much as he could. The only reason i didn't give a five all the way around is because i wanted my vehicle certified and i learned after signing all the papers that it wasn't. I only received one key and they wanted me to pay $350 for an additional key. so just please ask these questions before purchasing and signing with the financial people. other than that time and everything went perfect. love my truck thanks Bob Montgomery

Will never use this dealer again , poor customer service, lied to me over the phone . will say anything to get work even if they cant handle the work load . Service manager is very rude and is the root of the poor customer service . Workers are only as good as the man in charge and this man should not be in charge . Did know who he spoke to for the vehicle write which tells me he has very poor record keeping . Told me he has been dealing with phone calls longer then I was alive ..Im a 40 year old ex dealer employee and know for sure I would have been fired if I ever spoke to a customer like that . long story short would never use or recommend this dealer . Yesterday I went to Salerno-Duane to turn in my '13 Ford Edge. Overall, it was a good experience however this dealership seems to be shortstaffed. John Cola from the Chrysler dealership up the street came to assist. He was very assertive as far as helping me along with Garland the finance person, he took me for a test drive and was really trying to get me a good deal to get me to buy a car there. My only problem is he had no time after I was there for roughly 3 hours to go through any of the options or explain free trial Sirius or anything for that matter in the car. I went back this morning to return my key and get the rest of my belongings out of my Edge and asked Garland if there was someone who could show me The options in my car. He went to recommend Bob Cerza and in came 2 more potential buyers and all of a sudden nobody had time for me yet again to show me the car. Bob Cerza suggested I come back later in the day. Not for nothing but I don't live in the same town as the dealership, it's the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday, and I already spent three hours yesterday in the dealership. I feel somewhat cheated because they got the sale they wanted and now nobody has time for me. How often do people walk out of the dealership and have no clue where anything is in the car, any of the options it has to offer.? So I guess I'll either play around or read the manual! Very, very disappointed.

My 2014 Escape lease was up and I knew that I would go right back to Bob Cerza for my new car. He was just as helpful as ever. He does not pressure you into any decision and is very patient. He took the time to find me the right car with all the right amenities. A couple of hours later, I left with a 2017 Escape Titanium in the Platinum White. It is beautiful and if it's possible to love a car more than my previous one, I do. Thanks again Bob for a wonderful experience. As long as Bob is with Salerno Duane, I will be coming back.

I came in to this Dealership to terminate a current lease and begin a new one. I received a letter stating that i could hand over my old car and drive away with a new car at or around the same monthly payment, with no money down, no penalties or fees and that is exactly what was accomplished. We worked with Bob Cerza... we showed him the letter, we told him what we were looking for and the price range we were in... he showed us a car extremely close to what we wanted and gave us a fair price, he explained all the features of the car and took care of all the paper work with ease. Recently Purchased a new expedition at Salerno Duane ford in Summit. I had Bob Cerza as my salesman and he was a pleasurable guy to deal with. I went to test drive a Ford Explorer at Salerno Duane Ford. I thought that was all I was going to do that day! After months of trying to decide on a second vehicle and looking online I found a cpo on Salerno Duane's website. I was torn between the Ford Edge and a Mazda CX-5 from a different dealership.I dragged my feet because I was dreading the whole car buying process and always feeling like I was being ripped off. I finally decided to make an appointment to test drive the Edge and Lauren kindly set up the test drive. The day of my test drive I went into the dealership earlier than scheduled and Lauren was able to accommodate me and directed me to Bob Cerzo. Bob was truly a pleasure to work with and even went as far as to help me compare the Edge to the Mazda CX-5 I was considering. He wasn't pushy and honest and allowed me to digest the pricing and features so I could make an informed decision. I left the dealership after my test drive and had a chance to think about the purchase and work the numbers in my head so I could walk away feeling like I got a good deal. I returned that afternoon and felt 100% comfortable moving forward and purchased the Ford Edge which was truly the vehicle I wanted to purchase. Bob made the experience very easy and walked me through everything calmly and addressed all my questions. It was nice to walk in to the dealership and actually feel like they had my best interest and weren't trying to fulfill a month end quota. Bob was great from beginning. No pressure or anything like that, just talk to you like a regular person face to face, and he tried everything he could to get both parties happy. I liked how he was able to give me all my options, broke everything down and it made it simple to understand. All these little things go a long way, and which assured me leasing my new car. After getting me the car, he went through everything on the car to make sure I knew what I was getting, and followed up with me a few times to see how everything has been so far. Bob was really attentive and helpful from the beginning without harrassing me or putting undue pressure on my timing or the sale. I was very focused on a specific model(the paltinum ford explorer) that most dealers don't have a lot of and he took me out in the managers car for a ride. This effort put the explorer top on my list. He was super effecient at finding a specific color and model for me from another dealer. I would highly recommend Mr. Bob Montgomery as an Excellent sales person at Salerno Duane Ford in Summit NJ.From my initial contact with Bob, and through the entire process, Bob was knowledgeable and professional. He took me on a thorough test drive, negotiated a fair deal with me, and lived up to all promised deadlines and appointments.Bob insured my insurance binder met all requirements and even made a correction with my company, directly, saving me time out of my work day.My vehicle was detailed immaculately, and Bob went through all the features with me at delivery.The only thing that could be improved was the final paperwork for my lease meeting with the "business manager". He was unprepared, had photo copieis instead of original documents, and tried to hard sell me additional coverages I did not want... He did not have the knowledge of Ford products that he should have had, being in the role he has...He even told me the lease return add on coverage for an additional $795.00 covered missing key fobs, which the document clearly says it doesn't....Anyway, I would fully recommend Bob Montgomery as a knowledgeable and professional sales person. I would also recommend Salerno Duane Ford for the purchase of a Ford vehicle... Just one "heads up", when you meet with the business manager, pay attention, and insure all promises are in writing!JF

Having three young children, I was looking for some very specific items in a car, and Vito got that right away.The only issue I have is that the pick up experience takes a bit of time, once i had signed off on my lease and put down a deposit, etc., the process of showing back up to pick up a car should be shorter in all candor, and more streamlined.However, I am very happy with this experience -- both times now. I really liked the new design of the 2016 Ford Explorer and the FIRST person I called was Bob Cerza at Salero Duane Ford in Summit. Bob had helped me get a Ford Focus/Nanny car a year ago and made the transaction super simple with my busy schedule. This time, Bob helped me design and order an Explorer just the way I wanted it! I needed a new car to fit into a narrow garage that came with my new historic residence. Bob Cerza, salesman--is the wrong term--aka car consultant-- spent an hour trying to find a car in inventory or in the Ford network that would fit my specifications. Finally, he sent me to asnother dealer with the make of a car that might meet my specs. I went there, and was treated very well, because I used Bob's name & was even given 2 demos to drive to my residence to see if they would fit. They did, but not with enough room to open the doors to exit.Back to Bob, and he said he would search for me. The next day he called to say he found me a Ford Transit Connect Titanium that should meet in the Ford network, and he would have it delivered to Summit for me to review. Perfect fit. They gave me more than KBB on for my trade. Never had to negotiate or haggle over a thing. Even the pick-up car process went without a hitch because of Bob's preparation/communication with Gloria (she handled the "delivery/pick up car" process), who was knowledgeable/quick, and patient! No need to go anywhere else! Would never go anywhere else; and their service department was tremendous, as earlier this year they handled a minor upgrade to my prior car with speed, great communication, and understanding!

This is my 4th transaction from the Salerno Duane group. This is our 2nd Ford from Bob Montgomery and everything I said in my previous review of him remains true; he is a courteous gentleman and retains a level of customer service unparalleled in the car sales world. I have had neighbors and coworkers also purchase Fords from Bob and they have the same positive comments.He took us on a test drive of 2 vehicles we were considering and when we narrowed down the model we wanted, came back with a good deal without any prolonged negotiation. He and his manager worked out a good deal for us and we signed the initial paperwork. Upon delivery of the vehicle a few days later, he walked us through all the features and did not leave our side throughout the signing of all paperwork with the finance staff.I too dealt with Ariel, the internet sales manager who has a warm inviting personality; greeting everyone with a smile on her face. I'll add that Salerno Duane Ford's website is well maintained and up to date with an excellent array of vehicle photos for the actual vehicles on the lot (not just factory pictures) including the window sticker. Why 4 stars? The finance process was poor. In my previous 2 transactions (1 Jeep, 1 Ford) the paperwork was fast and easy. Everything was ready to go, and it took no longer than 30 minutes to be in an out. This time around, nothing was ready. The lady handling the financing paperwork was 50 minutes late despite us having an appointment. Then, noticing our frustration scrambled to fill out the paperwork and couldn't get the numbers to work out in her computer. We took delivery 3 days after signing the initial deposit and application but nothing was ready. It took nearly 2 hours to get everything signed. No on has time to sit at a dealership for hours waiting for paperwork.The only redemption was Bob, who stayed by our side for the entire process and even helped us entertain our children.


I can describe this experience as the most pleasent .

I found the truck I wanted online and sent a quick inquiry to their online sales coordinator, Ariel., She responded within 15 minutes, ran some numbers for me and offered a great deal in the initial email. I met with her and Vito a day later and had the paperwork worked out with Steve the sales manager. He had everything prepped so I was able to get in and out of the dealership when I returned to pick up the truck. They had it cleaned and fueled up for me and even offered me a glass of wine while I waited for the paperwork to be submitted ! I had the opportunity to order a limited GT350 last summer and just picked up the car today! Bob and Steve knew how special the car was to me and took fantastic care of me and expertly handled the delivery of the car. Bob is very knowledgeable and friendly. I had to jump over some financial and insurance hurdles in order to complete the purchase and all along the way Bob patiently guided and advised me so that I could successfully complete the transaction. I requested some information from the website on an offer that I saw on a Ford Edge. I made the request outside of business hours so I was expecting an email or call the day after. I've tried this on other dealer sites and I get calls immediately, even Sunday at 2am, with pushy people asking a million questions. At Salerno Ford, Ariel sent me an email the next morning that was friendly and asking if I wanted any help but not in a way that was pushy. Vito was awesome as well. He showed us around some different models on a snowy day. He walked us through the whole process and wasn't pushy. It was the least painful shopping experience I've ever had. I've already sent several messages to friends that are looking for cars to consider this dealership, and I only left an hour ago. I'll be back in the future.

It was time to say goodbye to my 14 year old Explorer XLT. Great vehicle. We've bought or leased six Fords from Salerno-Duane (or its predecessor) since 2001. We've dealt with Bud Dyer for about 20 years so, one phone call to Bud and the deal was done the same day. Picked up my new Escape on 12/29.Bud's an old pro at car sales and always makes things go smoothly. As we say in the legal profession about some judges, Bud is, "retired, subject to recall" He works part time and is happy to help his regular customers. Had a great experience with Bob Cerza and the Salerno Duane dealership earlier this month, which resulted in our choosing a 2016 Ford Fusion over a Subaru Forester or a Honda CR-V. Bob was low pressured and professional, met our needs / goals for not seeking a lot of bells and whistles, and we got a very comfortable and easy to handle and comfortable automobile. He and the dealership didn't nickel-and-dime the discounts - they cut to the chase with what they could do below sticker (it helped that we did our homework), maximized our rebate potential, and we got there quickly - friends were surprised when I told them what we paid (lower than what they'd have thought when we drove down to Philly last week). I should mention that we have a comfort level with Salerno Duane and their service department that stretches over a decade - they're great, again low key and professional, none of that high - pressure garbage with salespersons screaming at you (we've gotten the "double team" at other dealerships. Overall, an EXCELLENT experience.

My experience with Salerno Duane Ford was excellent. I have purchased/leased many vehicles and leasing my new 2016 Ford Fusion was the easiest and simplest process of all. My Sales Consultant, Bob Montgomery, was most helpful in directing me to the exact vehicle to fit my needs and suggesting financing/leasing options. The Sales Manager, Steve Costa, was extremely helpful in structuring the new lease. This was definitely a 5-star experience.

I worked with Vito to purchase my Explorer and he didn't give me the run around and kept the "back and forth" with his manager and finance person to a minimum. I would definitely go back! He also put an effort in to find me just the car I was looking for in a timely manner...and even helped me on his day off.

My mother, who lives in Montclair,NJ, needed a new car, as hers was totaled in an accident. I live in Northern Virginia and requested price quotes on the Ford Fusion Titanium AWD from 5 Ford dealers in the surrounding area. Ariel Sallemi was the first to respond and worked closely with me to meet our needs. She exemplifies a true professional - Friendly, courteous, wanting to understand the requirement, and not being pushy. My mother met Ariel and Vito Monaco when she picked up the car and commented on how nice they were to her. I would strongly recommend contacting Ariel if you're looking for a new vehicle. I don't think you'll beat Salerno Duane Ford's price and you definitely won't beat their service.

This is the best Ford delearship that I have met. Vito is very very honest down the earth person.. He helped us all the way along without any hiccups.. The best policy they have is no pressure policy which is really great unlike the other dealers that you would deal with.. This is the second lease I have from Salerno in Summit. We always go see Vito. They do not pressure you at all during the process and they always start with an extremely fair price. I was in and out after we picked out the car. Very easy and stress free working with Vito. Highly recommended.

This being my first new car purchase I was very apprehensive. I have bought 2 used vehicles at another dealership and felt pressured. Also did not like the wolfpack waiting at the door. Salerno Duane was just the opposite, there was no one at the front door,the showroom was q uiet, Ariel introduced me to Bob and I imediately felt very comfortable, Bob answered all my questions, was very polite and knowledgeable and along the way shared a few laughs. When I went to pick up the car we spent the better part of an hour going over the car. Overall my experience was an awesome one and certainly be returning in 3 yrs,and would also recommend Salerno Duane to any one and tell them to see Bob

I was put in contact with Ariel after my car ended up in the service department, so that I could see what my options were in terms of getting a new vehicle. Ariel was very friendly and took her time to make sure I knew what I wanted before setting me up with Bob Cerza in sales. Again, Bob was very helpful in giving me information on my trade-in as well as leasing vs buying options. He was fair and efficient and not the least bit bothersome as other sales people can be. I'm very happy with my experience and my new lease!
