Every time I have brought my car in for service they have found some way to jack up the price. I walk in thinking I am spending $60-70 and today it became that plus $426. It's good if they tell you something needs attention, but this is the 4th time.... really every time I have come for an oil change and end up being told something needs expensive service. They are not looking out for their customers, but rather fattening their pocket books. They say the first time something happens its is a "happening," the second time it is the beginning of a pattern, and the 3rd time it is a silent contract.
Excellent service, transparency
This was my 2nd time at the dealership. First time I bought new, this time I bought used (a demo car, only a year old, virtually new). I came back as it was such a pleasant experience the first time, and it was again a good experience. Friendly, non-pressuring sales staff, who are genuinely interested in helping the customer find the best "fit" for their family's needs and budget. I didn't once feel pressured to buy something I didn't need or couldn't afford. I ended up going with a used car rather than new and the salesman, Scott Smith, was very helpful and appropriate. I would have been completely turned off by a high pressure sales job and there was never any iota of that. The finance guys were clear in their explanations and the whole process was smooth.

I knew I wanted a Rav4, Decided to buy one on my Birthdate, 5/13/, I wanted to go to a dealer in Brooklyn Park, close to home, but needed to print my pay stubs, I worked in Golden Valley which is close to the Dealer, it ended up well, Mike was the 1st person when my son and I walked in, he was great, and said happy birthday, when he looked at my Driver's License. Incredibly enjoyable experience
I searched for several months for the exact vehicle that I wanted, a pre-owned low mileage Toyota Rav4 with a manual transmission. Not only did I find it on Rudy Luther's website, but was given a call back within minutes of expressing my interest and was able to test drive, receive financing and drive away with it the next morning. This was my first time buying from a dealership and the Tony Zemke and the rest of the staff there made the entire experience smooth, painless and fun. Even the short waiting periods were enjoyable with a comfortable lobby and great coffee and snacks! We will be returning to this dealership for any future vehicle needs. Highly recommended!

Wonderful sales person makes excellent experience
We bought a new Camry Hybrid with sales person Jay Bernards back in 2012 because the dealership is with Costco Auto program. Jay provided wonderful service for us. We recently went back to get a used Prius for our daughter and we asked for Jay. Even thorough they are no longer in Costco Auto program, we still decide to work with Jay. He is very knowledgeable and has made great suggestions for our needs. He makes this dealership a standout for us. We will go back to him for another car again.

I went to Rudy Luther Toyota to purchase my 2012 Toyota Corolla that I leased brand new at Hollywood Honda when I was living in Los Angeles. I met with Katie Burgess and she made me feel so at ease and confident in what I was doing. She gave the best service in every way possible!
Customer service was an issue
Our overall experience at this dealership was not as positive as we would have liked it to be. Our salesperson was friendly, but didn't seem to be very sure on his facts and knowledge concerning the vehicle we were looking at. Time was also an issue. We realized going into this situation that vehicle shopping/purchasing isn't quick and simple, but the time spent waiting for each step was ridiculous. The final step-paperwork finalizing things, etc was disappointing too. The lady who handled our paperwork was unfriendly, made little eye contact and just rushed us through the process. When we asked questions trying to understand and clarify things she responded rudely and was short with us. It made us feel very uncomfortable. Most likely will not return to this dealership due to customer service issues.
Price and salesman were pretty good. Back office - not nice
Found what I wanted and worked quite well with the salesman. He wasn't pushy and promptly answered all of my questions. The sale went well until I got transferred to Finance for signing the papers. I fid not finance through the dealership and had my bank check ready. The finance guy was very pushy in getting me to buy an extended warranty. I did, and regretted that all the way home. Needless to say, I canceled that the next day. This was the third car I purchased there in the last twenty years. Toyotas last! Except for the pushy finance guy things went well.

Takes your money and doesn't care
Absolute garbage. I recently signed my third lease with them, thinking I'd get a great deal for being a loyal customer.... WRONG. Everything that could go wrong with this deal has. Their finance MANAGER made a $438 mistake, in my favor, on my paperwork and they harassed me until I signed a "corrected" contract, for SURPRISE, more money. I will never, ever deal with them again and will be sure to share this experience with others so they can avoid painful car purchases/leases as well.

First Time Prius Owner (and almost horror story)
Our first time driving a Prius was less than enjoyable to say the least. We drove a 2010 model for about 20 minutes, stopped at a gas station for drinks and to switch drivers. When we got back to the car, it wouldn't start. "Hybrid System Malfunction" Long story short, Chad and a colleague came and got us and towed it back. After speaking with several people about the issue and doing TONS or research online via phone, it was determined to be a VERY RARE situation.So, we continued to look at different Prius' and found one we liked that was a bit over what we wanted to spend. But after talking with Rich in finance, we were able to come to an agreeable price/interest rate. Aside from a minor hiccup with paperwork, everyone was awesome!

I had an amazing experience at rudy luther toyota. These guys r top rate. i have used them for service for a few year so i was even more happy that i could get my used car through them. They took there time to show me the car and made sure that i was very informed both with the car and the extended warranty which i am so happy to have. She allowed me to take it to a mechanic before making my final decision and was more than willing to provide me with information and history records for the vehicle. Traded in Prius for a RAV4
Let me preface this statement with the fact that financing was not a factor for me. That said, it was an easy process (still took over 3 hours). I came prepared and had researched the car I was interested in and researched the value of my trade so I had numbers in mind before I walked in the door. The trade in value was exactly what I anticipated.Scott Smith was my sales rep and was very direct and to the point with no pressure. I'm not a "newbie" to Toyota's and knew what I wanted. I was very pleasantly surprised when the RAV4 I bought was already equipped with a remote start; something I wish it had but was not in the original ad. YEH!John Yangwel was my finance manager. He seemed a little "harried" as he did my paperwork and took calls on his cell phone which I didn't appreciate. As a result, he forgot to issue me my 21 day "yellow" sticker in the window. Not a big deal but please, stay focused. I'm only telling my story to better the service I received for the next customer. I've been going to Rudy Luther Toyota for many years and I wouldn't go back if I felt totally dissatisfied. I will continue to bring my car in for service there and value the location and the kind reception I usually receive.
Worth The Long Drive
I found a great deal for a Tundra online at Rudy Luther. Billy DeVries answered my call and I explained that I was going to be traveling from Kansas City the same day if the vehicle was available and that financing would be set upon arrival. Billy went out of his way to get us the answers quickly so that we could be on the road. Upon arrival, Billy was extremely busy with other customers but he made sure we were attended to and balanced the waiting customers well. Overall, it was an great experience and outstanding deal. I would recommend Rudy Luther Toyota and Billy DeVries to anyone.
Fantastic Customer Service
Chad took his time to listen to my needs, was helpful without being pushy, very knowledgable/efficient as we reviewed options. I waited to find a car that met my needs so I could by from Chad - he earned my business. I even had him bring a car over from a sister dealer. In my months of searching and test driving - Chad was the best sales rep I worked with. Not sure about the dealership - some pros some cons. Pro's clean and friendly. Con's - some of the cars were not detailed well, had mechanical issues that were not repaired, lower trade in value, and the finance team took longer/had higher rates than other dealers.
Poor Sales Practices
Our 28 year old son made an appointment to see a black 2014 Corolla LE on Sat. Jan. 30th at 2:00pm. He and my husband got there on time ( they drove from Maplewood to Golden Valley) only tobe told that the car they MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO SEE was on a test drive with someone else.That someone else decided to buy it so my son was left sorta standing there. They were happy to show him a 2013 Corolla with more miles but 500.00 less.My husband questioned as to why they had an appointment that the dealer chose not tohonor? They said "they don't hold cars". Our son ended up buying the 2013 but let me assure you- my husband and I would havewalked away and spent our money elsewhere and we certainly won't recommend this dealership to anyone.

The right place at the right time
We bought a Toyota Prius from Lon at Rudy Luther and he was professional without pressure. He came in on his time off (7 p.m. on a snowing night) having never met us and not knowing how serious we were or were not about a car. We had been to another dealership close to home and didn't get "that feeling". We traveled 1 hour and it was worth it. Katie in the finance dept. also was very professional and efficient. With about 30 minutes before closing time when we made a decision...we still felt no pressure and were told they will be here for us no matter the time!

Michael Gallob was very friendly and honest, upfront and helpful. He answered our questions. He wasn't buried in his smartphone texting like some of the people we've dealt with. He didn't make us sit and wait for no reason like most of the so-called car sellers we've dealt with have. He's actually there to sell cars in real life, rather than hang onto them like beloved pieces of art. I so wish that more car sellers were like Michael. It took us over 3 weeks to find him. We also happened to visit the finance lady. She was efficient, intelligent, and on top of everything. Again we never had to sit there waiting while nothing happened. Every moment felt productive. We got out of the dealership with our nice certified used vehicle in what seemed like no time at all. I would heartily recommend Rudy Luther Toyota, and Michael Gallob no matter where he was selling vehicles.

My family is a loyal Toyota family, specifically with Rudy Luther dealerships. I was looking to upgrade my 1998 Camry and Nettie was so helpful walking me through all of my different options. She knew I was looking for my "unicorn of used cars" and was so accommodating through the entire process. I found my vehicle on Carguru.com. The truck was exactly as advertised and at a fair price. I appreciated Michael Gallob's quick response by email when I had an interest. He was very knowledgeable and very upfront about what can and cannot be done. No BS. I liked the no haggle on their prices. The price is what they list it at. End of discussion. In the past when buying a vehicle I have found it very stressful arguing for the lowest price and wondering if I should have gotten a better deal.I also liked John the finance guy. He worked hard to beat my bank at great loan rate of 2.8% for 4 years. They both stayed late and worked hard to make it happen.Awesome work guys!

We drove down all the way from Duluth because they had a great price on a used vehicle we had our eyes on. We had such a great experience from beginning to end! Tony helped us out on the car end of things, and Stacey helped us with the financial end. They are both awesome and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Tony has a great sense of humor and made the experience very laid back and fun. Stacey worked her contacts on the phone after hours on a Saturday night to get a loan that would work for us. VERY VERY average customer service, by bored employees.
My girlfriend and I went to this dealer ship to acquire 2 cars. One for her, one for me. One car was to purchased cash, and the other financed. My car was stolen, and she just really needs AWD, so we decided to do both in a day, if possible. We are very busy with work. We picked out a Subaru for her at this Toyota dealership. In order to make the decision of which car was to be financed, and which would be paid for in cash we had to, of course, find the other car. We let SCOTT SMITH (the salesman we worked with) know that we would have to go look around, find the next car, and then come back and buy this car- since they had nothing we wanted for the second car on their lot. All we were met with were cheap tactics of, "it might be gone... deals like these don't stay for long (when the car has been there for 70 days)...if I were you, I would just buy it now, you never know.... " or my favorite... " I have seen this happen MANY times, you may come back and this car will probably be gone." WE HAD TO TELL THE GUY 4 TIMES that we had to go find the other before we could decide how we were to pay for this car! He should've indicated that he cannot guarantee that the car would be there when we came back (which is understandable), but that if anything changes he would let us know.. wished us good luck, and assured that he would be happy to help us when we come back. That is what all other salesmen did throughout the day. Instead of trying to scare us into buying right away, when we weren't ready. We went to other dealers... we get 3 calls from SCOTT with salesman tactics saying, "I can only guarantee you get the car if you are here in 3 minutes (really? let me teleport there), because there is another guy looking it at"... or... "he is getting serious, they are evaluating his car for a trade-in and will likely be gone soon..." The last tactic was a call telling us, "you know I don't want to be here all night, I might be leaving." I politely and firmly let him know that if he needs to leave, I don't expect him to wait, and that there are other salesmen there that I am sure would be happy to sell me the car. **NOTE he was there for a couple hours after we got back, he sold us our car, and then stayed with another couple to sell another car. He really had no where to go, only a cheap salesman tactic. 3 calls over the course of the 3rd hour of us being gone with these unpleasant tactics are SO unprofessional. After being able to speak to other salesmen in other dealers the whole day, I can tell you that Scott is pushy, and is not very good at answering questions. His knowledge of cars, in particular: AWD, the differences between trims was incredibly LOW when compared to other salesmen in the area, at other dealers. His demeanor was nonchalant. His demeanor was pushy, as evident by the 3 calls to us over the course of just 3 hours. He tends to give VERY general answers to very specific questions. Again he is very pushy, that makes the whole thing SO uncomfortable. Another person we were unlucky to work with was KATIE BURGESS in the finance department. Talk about uninviting, rude, and completely annoyed with her job. Again, another person that was weird about us paying for the car in cash and check. When she came out to get us I was on my laptop, as we were waiting 30 minutes for her, due to the dealership not having enough finance people working that night (not complaining about the wait, schedules can't always be perfect). I am more complaining that she did not take into account that we had to wait an unusual amount of time for her. She came out announced her self, and started walking away to her office. I had to pack my laptop very quickly, gather my things and run to catch up. My girlfriend was confused by Ms. Burgess just walking away, and half followed her to see where she was going, while half waiting for me. Wouldn't you expect more when making such a large purchase? Just expected more professionalism on her behalf. Once we get in her office, and have signed some papers, I asked her for a few minutes so that I could discuss with my lady how much cash we want to do exactly, and from which account we want to write the check for the remaining balance. I wanted to make sure that my lady did not want to keep some cash on hand for anything else, so I thought I would ask her one more time. Ms Burgess, instead of saying, "of course, take your time- I'll wait outside and please let me know how you decided how you would like to pay for your car," (with a smile)- SHE SAYS, " WHY, why I thought you already decided... how much time do you need," and walks out annoyed with an unprofessional look on her face. She then acts annoyed as we have to walk to the cashier to pay the cash portion of the car, the rest was in a check in her office. Again she makes the experience uncomfortable, and not enjoyable. Buying a car should be a lot more comfortable, if not - EVEN FUN. No comfort or fun was had while dealing with Ms. Burgess. Comparing Ms. Burgess to other finance people we talked to at other dealerships throughout the day is like NIGHT AND DAY. The other finance people we spoke to were very detailed in their answers, inviting, made us feel GOOD about possibly spending money at their dealership. When other finance people came out to get us from lobbies they always properly introduced themselves, explained their function, asked if we were thirsty, and led us to their office at a reasonable pace. Other finance people at other dealerships did not seem judgmental about us possibly purchasing a car with cash, or financing. We were greeted with smiles and pleasantry all day - and going back to this was a stark contrast. I seriously felt annoyed that Rudy Luther had this car, and that we are strapped for time- so we had to buy the car- but JEEZ does it feel CRAPPY to do business with unproffesional people.
A good experience
I worked with Billy Devries to find a used car. He did not pressure me at all to buy new or even Toyota for that matter(I was looking for a used Taurus). The accounting person was helpful and not too pushy on the warranties. One thing most dealers seem to be doing now including this one is no haggle pricing on used cars which is kind of a turn off.

First car purchase in 10 years
After 10 years I was not looking forward to the purchasing process. But the days of endless negotiations and high pressure are perhaps gone. I was shown a couple cars that matched what I said I was looking for. No breathing down my neck. No trying to sell me the moon. It was a busy day there, and I had to wait for financing, but once in the office everything was in order and ready to go. The waiting areas were comfort so no big deal. I would go back.

Fast Incredible Service
I knew what car I wanted to look at and called ahead. It was ready to drive when I came in, even though I was half an hour early. I liked the car, the salesman (Kris Fox) was very kind and helpful, and Stacey in the finance department helped me out with financing. I felt very comfortable and that I was not being sold on anything. I was in and out of the dealership with my new (to me) car in under ninety minutes. I was amazed. The car is still going strong and I would absolutely recommend and come here again.
Very Disappointing Service! Warranty Issue?
After having a "routine" service check at 25,705 miles that included rotating tires and brake linings/drums & pads/discs inspected which were all in the "green" level check by the service technician, I noticed a rubbing noise coming from the rear wheel on passenger side suddenly one day and it continued to get worse until it was an out and out grinding noise. I called the dealer and asked to have it looked at but couldn't get an appointment for a week....but the damage of course, was already done. The advisor told me it was a brake issue where the pad had apparently come loose and twisted "somehow" and the pad wore down severely enough to start grinding on the rotors. He said both rear rotors needed to be replaced as well as the pads as they ONLY COME IN PAIRS to the tune of about $450! I asked how this could have happened in such a short time as supposedly they were checked and found to be OK less than 2500 miles ago and he replied, "it just happens". I told him this was not a satisfactory answer in my book. He said if I don't have the work done it could result in loss of braking power at a critical time. Anyway, I'm thinking that this should have definitely been a warranty issue. This is not a normal wear and tear issue.

If you want to get the best deal and the most reliable car go to Toyota Luther and ask for Boris Sonkin! Boris is excellent! I purchased my Corolla in 2009 and thinking of getting another one soon. Ron is a great guy. His manager has poor customer service
I'm not sure who the manager was but dif things we wanted for our car he was not helpful. We bought a ford flex and one simple thing...it was suppose to come with a card that had the keyless entry code and they said their dealership can't get into the ford system to figure out the code so we had to call a ford dealership and they charge $45 to hook up our car to the computer and he wouldn't even reimburse us or help us find the factory code. HOWEVER sales guy Ron McAllister was much more helpful..he said his manager wouldn't work with us and so Ron said he would split the cost. It just seems like after spending so much on a vehicle that the cost would be minor to them. It seems like the manager would try for better customer service. Won't be back to him.
Disappointing sales experience--no repeat business
Disappointing experience. Customer service was nonexistent after I signed the papers. It is interesting that they are unconcerned about repeat customers. My lease began, unbeknownst to me, 21 days before I took possession. Part of paperwork delay and part of the dealer had an accident in the car and it needed to go to the body shop. They paid for the repairs (was that a concession?) but delivery was delayed. Meanwhile, I am paying for a leased car. I complained and was offered a gift certificated for gas--rather curtly. Since leasing this car, I have leased two more cars all within 6 weeks from a different dealer. I am confused why Rudy Luther did not have the foresight to want more business and offer some reparation for the delay in taking possession With my gas card came a very short incomplete sentence note of apology.

There is a reason Kong is now the service manager at RLT -I trust him implicitly, he is fair, honest and most important the most knowledgeable service advisor I've ever met.When buying a Toyota or getting it serviced I always call him first. I'm honored to call him my go to guy and hope he never leaves as I have a 4Runner and a Highlander in my driveway.

Poor experience again.
Years ago I bought a Rave 4 from this dealership however when the time came to replace the Rave 4 we were shocked. We were set on buying a brand new Venza from this dealership. I checked on line to find average trade in values. What a shock to find out this dealer offered us thousands of dollars less that 5 other dealers. Needless to say we walked out without buying. We did buy new the very next day from another dealer. My second and last experience with this dealer was when I was looking for a used pick up truck. I found one on line at at this dealership. I called and told the rep I was interested and would be in that afternoon as I was coming from a distance away. A half hour before I arrived I called again and said I was half an our out. I was told the rep I talked to earlier left for the day and transferred me to another rep. We talked a bit about the truck but upon my arrival I was told the truck had been sold the day before. I will never, never, do business with this dealer nor will I refer this dealer to anyone.
Great First Time Buyer Experience
I recently purchased a slightly used Chevy Equinox and as a first time buyer I was basically going into this decision with no experience what so ever. The team at Rudy Luther Toyota did not take advantage of that fact and they actually walked me through the steps of buying a used cars while taking the time to explain the finer details. They gave me a great deal on a vehicle that essentially looked brand new and I drove away confident that I made the right choice. I would buy from here again, but hopefully not any time soon.

Fastest, easiest car-buying experience I've had
I came in to Rudy Luther's looking for a gently-used car to replace my unreliable PT Cruiser (which was in the shop, looking at a very expensive repair bill!), and my dad had recommended this dealership. We went on a weeknight, after I got off work. Tony greeted us right away, and when I told him what I was looking for, he took us right over to see the Corollas and Priuses they had on hand. After a test drive, I decided on a 2013 Corolla with amazingly low mileage. Tony stayed late to get the deal done that evening, and we were out the door in my new car in an hour or so, no fuss, no haggling.I'll definitely come back to RL's when I'm ready to buy my next car!

Experience was great. Went there looking for one vehicle and was not lead astray from the vehicle. My wife and I were impressed with Chad Williams and how quickly he worked through the process. There was a tear in the driver's seat, which was just fixed by Rudy Luther, and the process couldn't have gone better. Overall, extremely satisfied and would recommend Chad to anyone looking for a used or new vehicle.
Genuine Caring Salesperson
It was happenstance that I met Eric Swenson last Wed night. I was waiting to hear the results of the diagnostic test on my '97 Rav when Eric walked by and asked about the sling I was wearing. We got to chatting and when the conversation turned to cars any my love for my Rav he, in a concerned way talked with my about the safety of my SUV. I had not thought about my car having only two airbags but I had known it was top heavy which isn't safe in strong wind conditions. I found myself sitting in a 2015 Rav and told Eric it was too big for my needs now. Then he took me for a ride in a 2011 after showing me that it was most like the 97 in size. The point is, he showed such understanding and empathy about my dilemma whether I keep fixing my Rav or buy a different car. In the end I decided to fix my Rav one more time which gives me time to look seriously for a different car. Looking back on the situation I was so impressed with Eric and how at no time did I feel pressure ~ ~ all I felt is his concern for me to find a solution and for my safety. He is an excellent salesperson and I would seek him out to help me with my next purchase.

disappointing 45,000 service experience
I dropped off my car at Rudy Luther Toyota in Golden Valley for its recommended 45,000 mile maintenance. This includes things like the inspection of the brakes, fluid levels tire rotation etc. Following the service they park the cars in one of their lots outside which means they have to drive the car following its servicing. When I started up the car the tire pressure low indicator was on. I drove back into the service area where they verified there was an issue. They added air to each tire resolving the problem. The service tech missed this ? After returning home I was refilling my wifes wind shield washer reservoir and out of curiosity I checked mine. Well it was low thus I had to add solution to the reservoir. This was supposed to be taken care of as part of the 45,000 service ? So with these items missed I thought it best to review my service invoice. Sure glad that I did. On the invoice was a charge for an oil change labor parts etc. This is not part of the 45,000 mile maintenance. As I have synthetic oil and am not scheduled for this until 50,0000 miles. I called Rudy Luther Toyota they pulled up the invoice and explained to me the oil was not changed. It appeared on the invoice due to a computer glitch. They said they would credit my charge card for the oil. Believe me I will verify this when my credit card statement arrives. After I hung up I thought they should refund the oil change labor charge also, I should have called them back but .but I didnt at this point I was exhausted and just gave up.. Will I go back in the future to Rudy Luther for service ? Would you ?

Went in to look at the Toyota Sienna to see if I could get a deal on it and was hoping to maybe purchase it. Met with Nick and he was awesome. He was so friendly and funny. 2013 Sequoia Limited
Purchased a used certified sequoia a few days again. I felt pricing and value was ok and believe there was more room but decided not to expend more time and energy due to their fabulous service department. Who says a service department can't influence says is wrong. I've been brining my vehicles here for over 15 years and I've never had a bad experience or felt they didn't take care of me. The Financing dept was also fun to work with. Thank you John. Now for the bad. After paying over $44k for a vehicle you would at least expect a clean one and I was disappointed. I am not even talking about being picky. The entire bottom side of the driver inside door panel was covered in what appeared to be dirt and dust like it was driven through mud. Kris offered to clean it but what the vehicle needed was a detailing job based on the other areas that needed to be cleaned.. It was disappointing to see this because I know the team is capable of going the extra mile to make the entire buying experience more enjoyable. Everyone is entitled to a bad day and they missed it on this one.

My relationship with Rudy Luther Toyota at Golden Valley started in year 2000 immediately after I moved family to Minnesota. I have 2 vehicles, 1998 Camry and 2002 Sienna. I am the only owner. My cars have been serviced at this location since then. Jeremy is my favorite service guy. He is very knowledgeable about my cars. He always double check my service records to make sure there is no unnecessary service items. His service is prompt. His quote is very reasonable and made you smile. He also made a list of items need to be attended to in the future so I can plan financially and save time. His peer Duane offers to assist me when Jeremy is occupied. That is team work. I just love those guys. I just purchased a Corolla this weekend. I absolutely will ask Jeremy and Duane to service my 3rd car.

Looking for a used truck the salesperson was fabulous. The dealership was perfect,clean, and very respectful. The salesman ask 4 times if I wanted any water coffee or a snack. Then pointed me in the right direction.
I just purchased a used SUV from Rudy Luther Toyota. I did a lot of shopping so I know the price was better than fair, it was great. The condition of the car is mint inside and out and it runs like new. My sales person was friendly, not pushy and didn't talk too much during the test drive. They were flexible when an issue came up over signing paperwork, got me in and out really quick and for being such a large dealership I came away very happy with the experience which is not always the case when buying a used car.
great car, great price, great warranty, but only 1 key???
Got a great car for a great price with a great warranty, but thy only gave us one key. What??? They said they were only required to give us one key. What started out as a wonderful milestone experience, (buying our oldest child his first car), ended on a very sour note. They could have taken care of this easily by getting us the 2nd key with a key fob.

I came to Rudy Luther Toyota after having had a rough time at a different dealership. They treat the customers with utmost respect and I am blown away by that. Justin Miles was my sales guy and he was friendly, helpful, discussed all my options and answered all my basic questions( usually I ask too many questions). He never forced me to take a decision right away. Moreover, I felt that they don't discriminate people buying used cars from the ones buying new ones. They treat everyone equally and I really liked it. Finally, I bought a certified Toyota Camry.Chris Swanson is the finance guy for me and he is just AWESOME. When my 2001 Prius unexpectedly died last Thursday, I was devastated. I loved that car! I needed to replace the car immediately. Friends advised me to rent a car for a week and shop around and do research. I rejected that advice because I knew I would buy a Toyota again and Rudy Luther was the only dealership I wanted to work with. Duane Beyer referred me to Chad Williams who was an excellent salesman who treated me professionally and respectfully. I told him I didn't want to go over $10,000. He sold me a low mileage Certified Yaris with new tires. Even though it's a 2008, it looks brand new. This was a very stressful time for me, but I did not feel pressured and Chad only showed me cars within the price range I had requested which I really appreciated. It turned out to be a good experience.
Worst customer experience
Went to Rudy Luther toyota yesterday evening with my family and friends to buy one new camary and one old one.Was very disappointed that they were not consistent with their pricing. Even more disappointed that they cannot treat their customers fairly and nicely. Felt insulted and humiliated there with comments made by their staff. Won't never return to that place in my life.
Great sales and disappointing service
My sales person was friendly, capable and solution oriented. She went out of her way to answer questions and get me fair pricing. I would buy from her again. I was a little surprised no one mentioned an extended warranty, which I might have purchased. I returned to have an issue on the car looked at and the service department staff said the problem was not fixable, along with some other misinformation. So, I googled the problem and found the solution myself. I will be taking it to another Toyota dealer for repair, miles out of my way, because I want a repair person working on my car that knows the problem and how to fix it. I now have a trust issue with the service department at Rudy Luther Toyota. Repair people should always know more than the customer when it comes to fixing their car brand.

Both the salesperson and the business office were efficient and friendly. There was absolutely no pressure. We were asked if we were interested in an extended warranty or other options, and when we declined, they were never mentioned again. I hate buying cars, but this was almost a pleasant experience.
Everything went fine
The interaction with the internet salesperson went well. Didn't have a lot of time for me at the show room as it seems he was doing the work of three people. The other internet salesperson was busy discussing his fantasy football team draft. The car was cleaned up very well, inside and out, and I was very happy with it. The only thing I can complain about is the fact it took three repeated requests to get the car filled with gas before I left the lot. Each person told me it was done, when it fact it never was. Had to go back after closing to get a salesman to take me to a gas station to fill it up.
Had a really good experience at the dealership and the prices are not over hyped. The process of buying is not very complicated at all.

I just bought a Certified Used vehicle at this dealership and it was my first time ever buying a car by myself (without my parents). I was extremely pleased at how truly friendly everyone was. Everyone there Sales and Finance folks treated me like a friend/family. Kris Fox was great to work with. It was nice to work with someone younger/hip. He was also not intimidating like a lot of sales guys are. I highly recommend working with Kris Fox! They took me seriously and didn't treat me less because I was buying a used vehicle and not a new one (I visited another dealership and was treated like I was bothering them with my "cheap" purchase and I wasn't worth their time). That's not the case here at all! I was treated great and there was no trickery at all and everything was clear and concise and to the point and NO PRESSURE at all. I loved buying a vehicle here and I would definitely come back in the future to purchase. I would also highly recommend them to anyone.
I had a great experience with the staff at Rudy Luther. The salesman and I emailed back and forth and got all of the questions answered and the deal setup. Stopped in that night and picked up the car. The only issue was the delivery process, which took a couple of hours, but the car was worth the wait.

He is an outstanding professional. We discussed my needs and my preference for a used car. He located an excellent choice in two minutes. I couldn't select the right brand as only two were offered and it wasn't mine. I purchased a 2011 Subaru Impreza here......I was driving by from the Subaru dealership which didn't have what I wanted. Toyota had one and it was in beautiful condition. Chad was an excellent sales rep as he drew me out with personal questions and did not hard sell me which I resist, having been in sales myself. During negotiations, everyone stayed upbeat and cooperative until we arrived at a place we were all happy. It was a sad day to leave my beautiful 15-yr old Saab behind but I left having purchased something I was excited about. I will drive further to go to Luther's Subaru dealership for service because of the good service I got in the sales department at their onto a dealership. I've already bragged to friends so.......
This is my first car from here. We recently took on 3 foster kids and are now adopting them. The team here patiently waited for us to make the purchase. My First Experiance with Rudy Luther and Last
Just wasted 2 weeks on a vehicle. Found the listing for it on Cars.com, emailed them, got no response. I finally called and they set me up with salesman Billy. I wanted pictures of the car as it was a fresh trade and they didn't have any on the site. It took days to get pictures and he sent me 3. He told me they ship cars all over the US and even have to Russia and Africa. I asked for more pictures as I'm purchasing it site unseen, I never received them. I contacted Billy again to make a deal on the car after getting all the information I could on it. As I'm trying to make a deal on it and set up to have a shipper come pick up the car, Billy informs me they are only selling to bordering states as they've been having titling issues. First thing I told them I was from New York and it was them that had given me the idea to ship the car it instead of flying out and driving it home. I even talked to the manager Alex and he said he would call me the next day, still have yet to receive that call. I'm really glad they own 31 dealerships because I wouldn't try to purchase a sandwich from them. The most incompetent people I've ever dealt with, I've never had such a problem trying to purchase a vehicle.

I bought my 2012 Camry at Rudy Luther Toyota in April of 2012. Today (3-7-14) I brought it back to this dealer to have them check a malfunctioning seat belt. The car has only 19,529 miles on it. The problem with the seat belt is that it intermittently won't pull out. The "advisor", Matthew tried to pull the seat belt out, and since it failed the first time he tried it, he tried it again, turning it to a different angle. This second time it worked fine. He tried to convince me that changing the angle of it made a difference. It should pull out EVERY TIME at any angle! Hes an idiot! Even though he proved that it will fail to pull out, he refused to fix the problem for me. He said Toyota wouldnt approve the repair. Then they should have fixed it at the expense of the dealer! What if I had an accident and my passenger was injured because he/she couldnt pull the seat belt out? He said that Toyota would have no liability because my passenger could sit somewhere else where there is a working seat belt. What a MORON! I bought a 5 passenger car, not a 4 passenger. I wonder how he would like telling his passenger to sit somewhere else because that seat belt doesnt work right. I wont trust this dealership to service my car anymore, knowing that they employ idiots to work in the service department!

I am giving high praise for this entire process because everyone was so friendly, helpful and courteous in the purchase of our precertified Toyota Sienna. Initially finding the van using Car Soup, they provided all the information that I was looking for and included ample photos of the vehicle. I scheduled a test drive with Dan Harrison on Tuesday, the 11th, after work. I liked the vehicle and requested a second test drive with my wife for the following day. He was very helpful in scheduling our follow-up test drive scenario, which is where the Customer Service points went through the roof...I met with Dan's counterpart, David Latta on Wednesday, the 12th. As parents of 2.5 year old twins, I requested that I simply drive the Sienna home to show my wife and have her test drive it in our neighborhood. I have not heard of a dealership willing to do this before. I greatly appreciated how this went! While I brought the van home, we left our trade-in vehicle to be assessed. My wife and I returned to the dealership with the van and made a down payment with the anticipation of returning on Saturday afternoon to close the deal.On Saturday, we met with Tony and he was very personable and extremely helpful in the finance discussions. In the last 10 years I have had to purchase less than desirable vehicles due to my credit situation (3 cars at a shady dealership that preys on those with bad credit). Purchased new auto 2012 and immediately had service issue that was repaired, and in the process of repairing this something else was damaged. This collateral damage was misdiagnosed and took 2-3 return trips to correct, and something else was damaged during this repair of the damage caused during repair. Now nearly 2yrs into owning the vehicle the repair of the issue that was caused while repairing an issue that was caused while repairing the original issue is still not fixed. All this after being told by Luther service that I am "all set" after each return trip. Really poor customer service and makes me never want to buy a Toyota, even though I like the car. I guess my advice is just don't buy from Luther so you don't have to deal with Luther service.

As a general rule, I don't like to buy cars, I don't like the process of looking at cars, and I really don't even like to think about buying cars. My recent visit to Rudy Luther Toyota changed my mind entirely. My sales consultant, Peter Perry, dealt with me in a 'no nonsense' sort of way, answering all of my questions and helping me to determine what I needed versus what I wanted. When we located the car that was right for me and for my family, Peter made the rest of the process as easy as possible. He handed me over to Tony Banse who finished up all of my financial paperwork. I never felt pressured in any way at any step of the process. I cannot praise Peter and Tony enough for their positive attitudes and their knowledge of their jobs. When my family is in the market for another call, we will not hesitate to contact Peter and Tony.
I had the worst car buying experience ever at Rudy Luther Toyota in Golden Valley, MN. The sales woman 'Kelly" wasn't knowledgeable and was inflexible on giving me a couple of days to pick up the car even after we gave her a down payment. When I went for a test drive, she screamed with fright -- I am a very cautious driver and I don't know why she screamed. When we picked up the car (used vehicle) we noticed that the rear view mirror was loose and could easily fall off. This was supposedly a certified used car with only 11,000 miles on it. Once I got the vehicle home, I noticed that they did a bad job on cleaning up the car. This is my second and last bad experience with this dealership.

Before 9 AM the next morning, I had received an email from Justin Miles, introducing himself as my salesperson, and requesting information on when was best for me to come and drive the vehicle. When we arrived later that morning, he had pulled the car up front, ready to go. Justin offered my wife and I lots of information abou the SUV we were driving. He was very aware of all of the options and features this particular Pathfinder had. Once we had decided to purchase the car, Justin offered exceptional customer service, explaining the details of each step, and finishing up with a quick explanation of the service department at Luther...IE the hours of operation, the curtosey shuttles offered etc. We then moved on to the business office, and met John Yangwel. I can say that in my 25 years of automobile purchasing, I have not met a more knowledgable, more honest, more efficient finance man at any dealership, anywhere. John is awesome.His ability to quickly and clearly explain each document is impressive. He described all available service warrenties for our new vehicle, answering our questions in detail. We chose the warrenty he suggested, and could not be happier. The entire experience at Rudy Luther was impressive. The showroom is beutiful, the customer lounge is top notch! The ammenities offered at this dealership are better than any other dealership I have dealt with. I highly recommend Justin and John, and will not hesitiate to return to them when I next purchase a vehicle.

We went in to buy a new Rav4 on a Saturday. We knew exactly what we wanted when we walked in, colors, model, everything. It took forever for Ernesto to tell us they didn't have one in the color I wanted, he kept trying to push different ones on us that we did not want. Finally he said it would have to be sent in but it would be there by the end of the week and the manager would call us Tuesday morning to give us an exact date. Tuesday afternoon we called, we were told we would get a call back within the hour. 4 hours later I called. Back and Joelle said they were busy so no one had a chance. I spoke with a manager and he did have someone call me back and I thought we were set. Then they said it would be 10 more days until the car came in, unless I wanted a more expensive model! They do not email or call when they say they will, I would never ever deal with the people at this location again.

I took our Avalon in for routine oil change this morning. Not a smile or even saying hello upon checking in the vehicle. He told me it would be $30.00 extra in addition to oil change if I wanted a mechanic to look into the condition of the brake - isn't this usually checked as a part of the routine/courtesy inspection? I thought they always check out the fluids, battery condition, burnt light bulbs etc. without charging any extra fee for the customers. I said no to this of course. After the service was completed, no 'thank you' nor 'have a good day' statements were observed. Another strike here - is it that difficult for this guy to saying what other service advisors are saying to their customers in the waiting room? My wife stopped by to seeing how it was going about half-an hour after I checked in for service. She drove into the garage asking to see if anyone could quick-check the tire pressure of her vehicle (without any appointment at that time). Mia immediately came up to her, with great smiles and saying friendly hello to her (as my wife told me later how pleasantly she was greeted!). She arranged one of the advisors on spot to inspect the tires and even offered to give my wife's car a complementary carwash! My wife and I have been a long time Toyota owners for years - one of our vehicles has been on the road for fourteen years now. We have always been loyal to Toyota and will most likely to stick with it. The sad thing is about the dealership is we as customers have to know who we can expect to get a decent and courteous customer service there. Would we return there in the future? - maybe - if we can be convinced we can expect the sincere and courteous service from staff like Mia, definitely yes. I think Mia deserves a promo and could actually teach a few lessons to this service advisor who could use some lessons on manners, courtesy and better professionalism. We love Toyota's, and most part like the dealership for many aspects. We sincerely wish the dealership continuous success also. Managers and supervisors - please look into and see how your employees are treating their customers very carefully. We would like to seeing more Mia type employees there at all levels, and honestly, who wouldn't appreciate a simple hello with pleasant smiles?

I pretty much love everything about this dealership, except a single thing that is just maddening. They will, rather consistently, leave your car unlocked on their lot when you bring it in for service. This has been going on for me for 8 years, since I bought the first car there. I have complained about it rather consistently. I like the dealership and I love the people and they do good work, they just can't figure out this Valet thing. If it is because I only leave the key and not the key fob, that isn't an excuse. I don't leave the key fob, because the one time I did leave it with an auto repair place (not this one) it didn't come back and I had to go through the trouble of getting it replaced, so I won't do it again.Here was my week with Rudy Luther Toyota, they almost made it.Tuesday, I came in with the corolla for an oil change, took a little longer than I expected, but that is ok. Went out to the lot to get in my car, it was locked, HOORAY.Wednesday night, I dropped off the scion XB for a 100,000 Mile service. I told Kong 3 times I wanted the car locked on the lot as I was going to leave it there overnight. He got that taken care of, thank you very much! We might be on to something!Thursday morning, I came in before work and picked up the scion XB (like I said, it was locked) and left my Sienna's Key in the drop box for an oil change. I put on the envelope that I would not come for my car until 7pm. I was called at noon informing me that it was 'ready'. On my way home from work (about 4pm), I stopped by to pay for both the work on the scion XB and the Sienna and planned to pick the Sienna up around 7pm when I could get someone to give me a ride there. Immediately, i went to the sienna before going in to pay. Yup, unlocked. So, two out of three isn't bad?Here's the point. I have to go through my car, top to bottom and remove all garage door openers and anything even remotely of value. I also have to pull anything from the glove box and trunk that has my name and address or anything else on it because I can't be sure that when my vehichle is parked out on their lot, that it will be locked. It is a PITA.I was hopeful, I was bringing all three cars in over three days. I know they have worked on this, I figured maybe they had beaten the issue, but alas, they have not. So, note to criminals, if you want free access to unlocked cars with garage door openers etc, go check out the service lot at Rudy Luther Toyota. I am guessing around 33% of them will be unlocked. Many will have insurance cards with names and addresses in the glove boxes. Who knows what else you may find.For 8 years, the first thing I have done when returning to pick up my car is go to see if it has been locked. I have given positive reviews when it is locked, negative when it has been unlocked. This is my first time reviewing them on 'dealerrater' as they seem to have recently switched to it.I would be immensely happy if this issue would go away. If they leave my car, it should be locked, I don't care how long they expect it to be unattended. 5 seconds, 5 minutes or 5 hours, lock it, please.

I bought and have serviced my 2009 Corolla at this dealership. I have always been treated with friendliness and respect. My questions have always been answered and explained. I have never had the feeling they were trying to sell me service I do not need. (They have even skipped replacing certain filters if not needed at maintenance checks.) This was after my experience in Florida last winter where a dealership tried to pressure me into replacing 3 filters during an oil change, all of which I was told were still OK when I returned to Rudy Luther Toyota. Today's service was just an oil change, which was handled quickly and courteously as usual.

My car was overheating and brakes needed to be checked. Needed new front brakes and a water pump but later Mark called me at home to ask if my Rav4 had ever been in an accident. Yes. Apparently a part was missing for the fans when it was repaired and that caused the car to over heat. So the problem was discovered by the service department and Mark helped coordinate the resolution with my insurance agent and the original body shop. I was out of the loop and didn't have to negotiate anything. All was resolved and I only had to pay for the brakes. THANKS! The original body shop stood by their work and paid for the rest.

Khaled was incredibly helpful and kind. He was also very knowledgable about toyotas. When I test drove the car I wanted to purchase, he made me feel very comfortable driving with him by talking with me and gave me directions since I didn't know the area well. When we returned he made the purchasing process very easy and did all the calling and contacting my bank himself. Tony helped us finalize the sale and his sense of humor made it a lot of fun, even though car buying can sometimes be stressful. I would definitely purchase from them again. My only complaint is that the Toyota corolla I bought was a little overpriced compared to the kelly blue book value. Still, I wanted to get it because it was a good car, and I am satisfied with my purchase. Really though, when you go there, as for Khaled (Kuh-Leed), he is really wonderful to work with!

Mr Beyer caught a Water Pump issue with my 2008 SCION XD when I brought it in for a Oil Change, when he told me the repair cost I indicated I would not be able to purchase the new tires due to the service cost of the Water Pump. Although the warranty was no longer in place my SCION has less than 30K miles and Mr. Beyer worked with Toyota to get a reduced cost for the Water Pump which is a great help to a retired lady living on a fixed income. Mr. Beyer also worked with my son-in-law and daughters for a surprise birthday present for me, a set of 4 new tires for my SCION. Luther Toyota has continually met my expectations for service since I bought my SCION in 2007. Thank you!

Overall experience tends to be ok. Their service staff isn't friendly at all. I have had to wait a while when dropping off my car for servicing (with an appointment) without any of the service staff acknowledging us for a while even though we are in plain sight. Their service staff tends to have the attitude as if they are doing us a favor and don't smile or even show customer appreciation. In our recent visit they offered to remove the bike hitch attached to our car so it could be washed, but they never did and gave us the car back unwashed.Their waiting lounge is very nice and is equipped with TV, coffee machines, cookies and a play area for kids.

Just went in for an oil change and possible tire rotation. Terry looked up the last time I rotated the tires and noticed that I bought the tires at the dealership 18 months ago or so. He said the tire rotation was free because I bought the tires there and though I was a couple of huindred miles short of the time to rotate the tires, he had it done for me at no cost on this visit. Terry was great and very friendly. So, too, was the cashier who stamped my oil change card and took the time to remind me that the next oil change would be free. I have been very happy with all of the service I have had a Rudy Luther Toyota.

These visits give the dealer an opportunity to keep making an impression, and they have done a very good job of it. Check in was quick and efficient, they did the work in the time window they said, the car was washed, and out the door I went... refreshing these days to have someone do what they say they will, and on time too.... While waiting there several nice areas to lounge in, a few snacks, and new cars on the sales floor to look at. Not the worst way to spend an hour. NICE JOB

We traded in our 2007 Corolla this week for a 2013 Rav4.We had horrible service 4 years ago at this dealership (kept our car for 4 days and never fixed the problem,,,) thought we would give them a try. The salesman was very informed but obnoxious in his sales techniques. If I heard "I am being brutally honest" one more time I would have thrown up my lunch. All we heard was how in 2009 every job at the dealership was looked at with scrutiny, to provide the best customer service. In 30 minutes we had driven and chosen the Rav4 we wanted.... 4 1/2 hours later we walked out the door... waaaaaay too long. We purchase all the optional extended service and appearance packages. Two days later I called to set up an appointment to bring the car in for the installment of the appearance package. I left a message for the appropriate person. Never received a call back. HMMMMMMMM wondering how future interactions will be. Will update!

This is the first Toyota I have ever owned and I absolutely love it, probably because the service department is second to none. I bought my FJ Cruiser new here and have been in for various service appointments and every single time I have been very happy. Andy helped me today and was no exception, super friendly and courteous! My car is always done on time and it's freshly washed and vacuumed too. The waiting area is the best! A huge flat screen TV, lots of comfortable chairs, a business room, free beverages and snacks, even a dedicated kids area. What more can you ask for? I have owned just about every single kind of vehicle you can think of and Toyota has been my favorite by far. My husband has a new Mercedes SUV and can't get over the excellent service that I get, something he can only dream of!
