Wish I could give a ZERO star! Used car manager is a jerk. Refused to honor even his own warranty agreement. Brought my used purchase back for repair - he decided it was too expensive (for HIM) to fix. He wouldn't even talk to me himself. When I told his go-between to tell manager I'll offer to pay half (which I was NOT obligated to do), manager wouldn't even pick up his own guy's call. If you want to buy a Ford or Nissan, by all means buy one; just DON'T DO IT HERE. I saw other reviews like this one, but also some good reviews, and I made the mistake of giving them the benefit of a doubt. The good reviews must have been only NEW purchases...The BEST people in this place work in the repair shop in the back building - Brian, Chris and crew. They're the only ones I will ever deal with there. (As far as doing something about the refusal to honor the warranty, I'm only just getting started...)

This time I am leasing for the first time....PJ Flattery is great! explained the whole process...made great recommendations and was a pleasure to deal with. Sat with me and reviewed everything in the new car to make sure I was comfortable before I drove it away. This is the second Nissan Murano that I have purchased from Steve Boxenbaum at Route 23 Nissan he is knowledgeable, responsive, and focused he went above and beyond to locate the exact Murano that I wanted and made the buying process quick and painless again. Recently returned to Route 23 Nissan to get my mom into a new car. Initial visit included viewing different vehicles and getting preliminary numbers and discussions about our particular situation. Very understanding and receptive, honest and patient - left with information requested - no pressure. Returned later in the week to discuss my own options already in a lease and wanting to refinance. Again, Craig (manager) and salesman (Eddie) reviewed my current situation and provided options and reasonable solutions to put me in a better financial position. When all was said and done, mom and I left at the end of the weekend with twin Altima's and are thrilled with our new vehicles!! The staff was very helpful and understanding and worked tirelessly to ensure we got the best deal! Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart! Always a pleasure :)

I contacted this dealer where I just bought my new Nissan from and three times they said they would call me back with nobody every doing so.....Horrible experience with receptionist who is nasty and tells me they will call you back....NEVER CALLED, finance, sales person, new truck salesperson. I had called inquiring about a new truck for my husband, they never called me back either. Terrible. I was going to have my future daughter in law and her mom release their Nissan's from Route 23 but have DEFINETLY changed my mine on that......

After two leases, lousy service both in the Purchasing and Service of both vehicles at Rt. 23 Auto Mall , I returned because of two exceptional people, Steve Galletta, Certified Service Technician and Patty McNamara, Customer Service Manager. I had purchased my last Explorer from Elite Ford (Closed by Ford) and it was one of the best buying experiences of my life and I have had many vehicles in my time. I had this vehicle serviced by Liberty in Clifton and met Steve Galletta, Service Technician . When Liberty closed he moved to Rt 23 Auto Mall Service Department and he convinced me to have my transmission problem taken care of at Rt. 23 Auto Mall. I did and am happy to see that the Service Department has changed and the people are upbeat, helpful, and friendly. Patty McNamara kept me informed every step of the way and made being without my car for three weeks tolerable. I was not put off and given stupid excuses in the past and found that to be both insulting and very irritating. Of course, returning to a place you swore you would never go back too speaks volumes for the trust I have in Steve Galletta and his knowledge and abilities. It just goes to show you how important good employees are to your Business. Because of this positive experience at Route 23 Auto Mall Mr. Barna, I will be a returning customer.

I purchased a car and leased a car from this dealership. The car i bought was a 2014 nissan frontier, certified preowned. while driving it on route 23 today i got 2 flat tires on the passenger side. i called them and asked them to tow my car to there lot so i could purchase 2 tires and have them put on. I was told that i had emergency roadside assistance with the car. They would not do it. they said free tow for tires isnt the service i had with the car. Fine. Now again i was about 500 feet from the dealership with 2 flat tires. i have 2 cars from these guys and they couldnt give me a tow so i could purchase 2 new tires from them. this in my opinion is horrible customer service. when my wifes lease is up i will be dropping her rogue off in the mazda i BUY for her.

It is hard to find a fitting description of my experience at this dealership. My salesman, Jason McKeown treated me as an intelligent buyer with respect and understanding. From calling to make my appointment for service to picking up my car, my questions were all answered. My salesman contacted me after my appointment was set to check in with me about my car and my mechanic, Tim, went over my car with me and let me knew when I would be due for service again. He answered my questions about driving in the winter months and any other concerns I had. I was notified and reminded of my appointment via email and was contacted various times throughout the day on updates of the work being done to my car. I have neem dealing with the dealership since I bought my 1st vehicle when I was 17. I have been to the dealership 4 times in the past week due to the salesman and finance manager that I had not returning my calls. I really do not this either of the 2 have any customer service skills at all. They both do not return calls or want to help you when you go to the showroom. I waited 3 hours with my 3 kids to speak with finance to see what was going on with getting me into another vehicle. Being a customer for over 15 years, you would think they would want to keep you happy with their dealership.

Route 23 Auto Mall was pleasant when I purchased the lease on my Nissan Maxima, however when my lease was over and I needed to return the car everything was different.I purchased my lease at Route 23 Auto Mall in NJ and then moved to Rhode Island. However when my lease term was over, I returned my car back to Route 23 Auto Mall where I originally purchased the car. Once a customer always a customer, think again! Route 23 Auto Mall lied about willingness of returning out -of-state license plates to the DMV and instead sales person Lenny kept them in their desk drawer. This action resulted in property tax from Rhode Island for 3 months when I no longer had the car. Returning the plates to RI DMV is the only indicator to stop property tax from being generated. I am seeking $148 from dealership to cover the time frame (June August) where I no longer owned the car, but was being charged taxes because salesperson kept the plates in their office and had me believe they were going to mail them back to Rhode Island. When I complained to Route 23 Auto Mall, I was given no consideration by the salesperson Lenny, office manager Wayne, office manager Ruth, and instead treated like a bothersome customer. #Route23automall #Nissanlease #Nissancustomerservice #Nissancomplaint #NJNissandealers

We Went to Nissan on Friday, July 25 and leased a 2014 Nissan Murano. All I can say is we received A+ service from start to finish. After discussing things with the finance manager, the loan pymts were going to be a bit too high for me so I left. However the next day the salesman called me and said would you accept if I can get them at X amt for your monthly pymt and I said yes, he said he would get back to me and he did to say "when do you want to pick up your car" and I was so excited and said tomorrow!! However when I went there expecting to drive home in my new vehicle, I was told that they could not do the deal that I was quoted over the phone on tues and that he should not have told me that until he spoke with the finance manager who was out on Tues. Not sure who the salesman was with but he told me he was sitting with 2 people as we spoke ready to make a deal, he stated that one was the general manager, who said that he never spoke to anyone on Tues about this so again I was "mis" informed by the salesman. So I walked out empty handed and completely devastated. After trying to talk to general manager to make good on the misinformation that the salesman gave me he said they could not and it was a he said she said thing. Purchased 2 cars in the past here and paid both off early but I will never come here again.

I recently bought a new Nissan Rogue at Route 23 Automall in Butler, New Jersey. Our sales representative was PJ Flattery. PJ was one of the best sales reps I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with in terms of buying a new car. From the moment he contacted me about my inquiries to purchase a new car right through the delivery of the car, PJ was a truly exceptional sales rep. The facility in Butler is friendly and everyone was quite helpful there. I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever about Route 23 Automall. The one thing I don't like to do is to encounter a very pushy sales rep when I am shopping for a new car. PJ Flattery and Route 23 Automall were very respectful, courteous and understanding as to the type of vehicle I wanted to buy and how much I could afford to spend. PJ delivered everything I wanted and kept me within my budget. I rarely write reviews on body shops since I do not use them often enough to develop an opinion but this is my exception. I have used the body shop at Route 23 Auto Mall three times for two vehicles...twice for my Green 2002 Eddy Bower Ford Explorer and once for my Black 2004 Volvo S60. I typically keep my vehicles for 200k miles but I maintain them mechanically. Finding a body shop that keeps them looking like new is a wonderful thing and Route 23's body shop is exceptional. The body shop is clean and modern with a paint booth that is space-age cool. The personnel are helpful and the work is flawless...yes...my vehicles came out like new. Dave of Wayne NJ

I would just like to take a few minutes and and Thank 3 of the most professional people I have ever worked with in the car buying process. For the record I have spent 13 years in the car industry, I have always worked for very high line vehicles and dealerships. So to make a long story sort of short I have lived in NJ almost my whole life, and relocated down to Florida in September. My uncle calls me and wanted help and advice on buying a ford escape, well since I'm in Fl very hard for me to just go to the dealership and close the deal with him. Anyway he went to a Ford dealer by his house and didn't have a bad expierence so he drove the car and called me to ask me some questions. I told him I would do all the negotiating and all he would have to do is pick up the car. Well that's when things went south quick, First I called the salesperson explained to him I'm in the industry and could not believe how unprofessional he was, asked to speak to the manager { left a message never got a call back btw} This is where how I see people get frustrated in buying a car, because you don't see this from the inside. So I waited a few hours for a call back got nothing SO decided to call Route 23 Ford. ( Also would like to say this was a cash deal, no trade and open on all colors, for a dealership that is the easiest customer to have). I first called Tiffany explained my situation she was very professional and explained to me she was not a sales consultant but she would get some numbers for me and call me right back. Not 20 minutes later the phone rang and she went over the numbers with me I asked what colors they had and we pretty much wrote the deal on the phone.Thats where Steve came in beyond professional, got right to the point, understood my situation and did the right thing and made it painless! I had a couple requests for him which he happily agreed to, most important was that my uncle could get a ride over there so he could drive the new truck home and not take multiple trips to get his other car. so he promised me that! So at 9AM PJ came picked him up which was about a 35 mins away btw, drove him to the dealership and the whole process went smoothly!! I can't thank all 3 of them enough because my uncle is a very impatient guy and buys a car maybe every 10-12 years and always had awful experiences. Last thing I'd like to thank PJ for was going over the new technology and really going over the car with him most dealers want to just rush you in and out and he really went above and beyond! So in closing would just like to thank PJ, Steve, and Tiffany once again for there time and professionalism!! and will also be referring many of my friends and family even know they are over an hour away from the dealership!! Thanks again!!!!

I would like to start by saying that I would buy from the two salesmen who helped me with my 2013 purchase, specifically Steve Secor and Mike Vorhees. They were great. I purchased a 2010 CPO Nissan Maxima in January 2013 and paid the $800 premium for CPO. When i went back for my first service I was told the only thing that was done on the car was an oil change. I had an oil change done this winter and was told by the service consultant that I needed new tires, a new battery and new brakes, about $1500 in my estimation. Recognizing I had purchased a "used" vehicle, I sent Senior Management at the dealership a letter and followed up with an e-mail expressing my concerns trying to find a solution. I did get a call back during the business day and couldn't talk, and despite multiple calls and e-mails, I've never been able to connect with the dealer. I opened a complaint with Nissan USA and spent $900 for tires on Friday. While I love Fords as well, and they also sell them at this dealer, there is no way I will go back. As good as the buying experience was, the service experience was terrible. It's a shame since Steve and Mike were so great that there is no way I will do business here again. I warned them that I'd complain to Nissan and potentially write a negative review.

First time at Route 23 Auto Mall, Butler NJ. Walked car lot, entered showroom, no one bothered me. Asked for assistance and met Rich Pentony. Told him I was looking at a Nissan "Rogue". We walked the lot, showed me different models of the "Rogue", explained each model and features of each. I opted for the "SL" series. He did not have color I desired but said he would find one and he did. We negotiated what I felt was a fair price and he delivered the vehicle, as promised, a few days later. No High Pressure, no "Stories". We went over all of the features of the "SL" prior to delivery, and when car was delivered Rich spent 30 minutes going over all of the features again (even set up my cell phone). Met with finance manager, again no high pressure, went over all details in a very clear and concise manner. Drove away very, very satisfied. Received call from General Manager asking me about the car and the "experience" at the dealership and I responded favorably. This is definitely a "go to dealership" for Nissan's and I highly recommend Route 23 Auto Mall if you like a really good experience when looking for a car.!! The sales staff and office staff are truly professionals in their dealings with the public.

bought a used pickup from PJ and let me tell you he is a great guy easy to deal with very friendly. I had my 8 year old son there and PJ was making my son laugh and joking around with him so it made it so much easier for me and wife to look at the truck because I was not hearing he was not bored. After entering the dealership I was greeted with the most condescending, insulting employee I've ever dealt with. We were basically mocked for even considering trading in my older model car. After an good talk with the sales person, we were ready to buy after offered because he was kind, not pushy and was offering a great deal. After the General Manager rejected the trade-in offered to me by the salesperson, we politely declined to purchase that day, because as I explained I did not want to be stuck with two cars, and the money from selling the old car would be part of my down-payment. On our way out of the dealer, the employee we met on the way in asked us if he could help, after we said we could only deal if the trade-in was approved, he laughed at us, said "No" and walked away. Apparently this was a General Manager. I was ready to put several thousand dollars down, and I explained that I am 100% going Ford, and buying a car soon, but after my experience there never will I do business with 23 Ford. I feel sorry for the salesperson who attempted to get me to buy, I was ready to come back after my car sold and buy from him, but the Manager was so bad and treated us so poorly that I had to call to apologize to the salesperson and explain why I wasn't going to come back in.

I had looked at their website, seen their used car inventory, and found a few that I was interested in..so I went in with an idea of what I wanted and how much I was looking to spend. I see that you answer alot of the complaints posted here, so I just would like to know why a salesman for the Fords told us he could give us no information unless we gave him my husbands license. We were not about to go on a test drive, my husband was not comfortable giving his license but offered to give information. The last time a salesperson asked for a license at another dealership, they tried to keep us there by not returning it for over an hour. Just wondering, why would this be your practice? We left and purchased the car from another dealer.

Although, I had an appointment to pick up my new car, I waited 2 1/2 hours. I was overcharged hundreds of dollars for "Wear Care" on my lease. I was told that all recalls had been completed on my car when I purchased it and when I brought it in for service because of malfunctions, I found out that the recalls were never done. I made an appointment with my salesman to get my new plates and he never showed up. Another salesman was kind enough to take care of it after he saw me waiting for half an hour. All in all it has been a dreadful experience! If you are in the market for a new or used car, go somewhere else!

The day after thanksgiving! Called and confirmed the availability of a Hyundai Genesis for my son who was moving to College. Drove from Bridgewater to Butler. Inspected and test drove the car. Sealed the deal. Salesman Kurt who was dealing, mentioned that someone from Philly was to come to see the car but the car was available since he didnt show up. I confirmed no downpayment was received from the other person and the car was still open for sale. Proceeded with the paperwork and got the Insurance from All state. Meanwhile the Salesman Kurt got a call from someone and then he insisted that we go for lunch. Sounded reasonable as my daughter wanted lunch badly. I left for lunch at 3:45 and returned back at 4;20 pm to be told that the car was sold. I just couldnt believe my ears. I was met by the General Manager (dont remember his name), who not only had an attitude problem but was unapologetic and was very rude. I felt offended talking to him in my kids presence as such was his attitude. I was told the car was just sold and it was a mistake they processed my paperwork. I called the Police and 2 Officers swung by within minutes. Hearing my story they also questioned the General Manager about how they could process my paperwork and not sell the car. The Owner of the Rte 23 automall, Scott intervened and apologized and offered me to check other cars in the Inventory, which definitely did not have anything like the car which I had agreed upon. I am waiting for the copy of the complaint from the police for further action. Cant believe this is happening in US. Never ever go to this Dealer unless you are prepared for all this drama.

I have leased 2 cars from Rt 23 Automall and purchased 1. I find now that everytime you see a car in their inventory and go up there, it has been sold- and they steer you to another more expensive deal. The reason I stayed with this dealer was that I never felt the "bait n switch" tactics that other dealers seem to use. I do not feel this dealership even cares about keeping its customers anymore.I think it is time to go to another dealer.

Overall I would describe my experience with Rt 23 as..."ok". I'm pretty surprised by all the 5star reviews here and I'm left feeling even worse about my experience since it appears they're capable of doing much better. I was there looking for a used truck. Found exactly what I was looking for even though I've never bought used before. Part of the sales pitch explained how good their service is, and how thoroughly they inspect and service all their used vehicles. Sounds good, so I got ready to take it for a test drive. Sat down, started it up, tried to pull out of the parking spot...the power steering was broken. Things happen. I wasn't upset. Came back a week later after they made the repair and took it for a test drive. All seemed well so we agreed on a price. Then they tried to say they didn't offer a warranty on this vehicle despite the large sticker in the window that says it has a warranty. Unimpressed a 2nd time. Then had to wait for the business manager to finalize the paperwork Was kept waiting over an hour despite it being relatively late, and the place was pretty empty. When shown into the manager's office there was no apology, or explanation. He didn't even look at me, or introduce himself,s hake my hand etc. I still don't know his name. We finalized the deal and I drove off. Saw there was less than a 1/4 tank of gas. Unimpressive. 24hrs later we turned around and drove back to drop off the truck. Had another significant problem that needed to be repaired. So much for their expert vehicle inspections. Normally all of this would warrant a 1 or 2 star review but in their defense they did a few things right. Bob was very nice to work with and probably the only redeeming part of the deal. They did honor the warranty and made the 2nd repair without hassle or argument. And they did offer a fair price on the vehicle. But overall, when you're handing over tens of thousands of dollars, and there are many many Ford dealerships on rt23 alone, you should expect more. After writing this, and not posting it, I'm glad. Because after a week, the original problem is back again. They were supposed to call me four days ago to discuss, but that never happened. We're down to 1.5 stars.

Not to mention, I was encouraged and well informed of all their great deals and made to feel comfortable enough from the time it took me to get my car serviced to walking into the showroom and leaving a happy service customer that, when I am ready, I will make 23 Automall my one stop shop! I was absolutely stunned by their serviced. I was referred by a friend after many failed attempts with horrible dealers. I just felt cheated and like I wasn't getting the best deal every where else. After being referred to Steve Secor, I was in and out in no time, with a beautiful new Nissan Sentra. He never haggled me. He just asked for my budget and found the best possible option within that budget. They even worked their magic to get me great rates! To top it off, I don't think I was in the dealership more than 3 hours (and half of that was spent just chatting with the Steve since hes SO personable)!!! I still can't believe how great of service I received at Rt. 23 Auto Mall. I inquired on a 2009 Escalade they had on the lot, and was wanting to buy. My sales person Michelle sent me over to the financing department, Julian Perez was the one who took the call. They had all my info ran my credit and even said he had me approved for the loan! After that i have not heard from him, i called the dealership atleast 5 times to see whats going on and on every call i would get "LET ME CHECK ON THAT AND ILL CALL YOU BACK".. This dealership is filled with non professionals would not recommend at all!

In late January I purchased a CPO 2010 Nissan Maxima from Route 23 Automall. I started with Steve S as the Salesperson, and he was a true, seasoned professional unlike many I had seen while shopping other Nissan dealers. He immediately pointed out potential issues at the front end to eliminate issues on the back end. Once Steve and I reached an agreement on price and I then elected to take delivery on a Saturday, Mike V took over since Steve was out. Mike and I had constant e-mail dialogue over the day (which was my preferred method of communication) and I took delivery at sun down. When I had a couple of mechanical issues, the service department took care of it with little question. I could be in the market for a Ford F150 or Ford Explorer in the relatively near future and the first place I would look is Route 23 Automall.

Recently bought our 2009 Ford Edge from Lenny, let me first start by saying I made an appt with the Sales Manager Joe Navarra upon arriving at the dealership I was greated by Mr. Navarra they had the vehicle up front for me. Lenny listend to everything me and my husband had to say not your tipicle used car salesman agreed on a deal very quickly was in and out with our new vehicle in less than 1 hr. JOE AND LENNY YOU GUYS NAILED IT!!!!!Everyone should go see Mr Navarra and Lenny you wont regret it the best deal in town and the best people in the business

I recently bought a 2007 Audi A4 i love this car!! My salesman was Fernando. He was very friendly, honest, truthful, and helpful!! Everyone at the dealership is nice!! My experience was amazing and very pleasant; I'd recommend this dealership to anyone who wanted to know where to go buy a car!! 5 out of 5!!

Purchased an 2011 F250 diesel used. Let me start by saying I hate the car buying process... despite this and the fact it took me nearly 6 (or more?) hours to decide on a truck and negotiate a deal that I was comfortable with, I had a good experience overall - great when compared to other car dealers. I would recommend anyone in the market to check out Rt 23 Automall.

Once I found the car I wanted at Rt. 23 Auto Mall I took a test drive to my personal mechanic. He couldn't find one concern with the car. Drove it back and in roughly 15 minutes we negotiated a fair price. My sales rep. was great (John Z.) and the overall process was nice and easy. - Rick B.

Offered me far lower value for my trade than another dealer did earlier that day. Also, after looking at my trade they parked it all the way across the lot, instead of where they found it. I found this quite rude!!!
