We unfortunately had two old Mazdas which were purchased from Gaithersburg Mazda that died. They tried their best in the service department (which by the way is also a 5-star department) to repair them but the writing was on the wall. We needed two new cars. Maynor Guzman was just the most caring and knowledgeable salesperson we met since being an ongoing customer there. No matter how much time we needed to make a decision or asked to test drive more than one vehicle, he was very accommodating and then some. And his service didn't stop there. Gave us his card should we have any questions on how some of the technology works. I cannot say enough good things about him and the entire staff.

All I can write is, I had negative equity in my Nissan, which was falling apart, and the sales and finance team made the experience worthwhile and I recommend them to anyone.A shout out to the internet sales rep and the finance manager - awesome teamwork!

Everything was fine until I signed the papers then it was not so nice from then on. Even worse was the first oil change Does it really take 2 hours to get oil changed. I had to collect the car the day after I signed papers, was kept waiting at Metro for 25 minutes on a very hot day, then when Mr Lewis finally arrived we rode in silence to the Dealership, the car was still not ready. then when I discovered horrible dashboard reflection(especially going into the sun) on the windshield couple weeks after I had the car it was like I had the only car in the world that did that no service was offered to correct the problem. and the headlights are so dim they seem to only light up 30 feet directly in front nothing towards the sides and the seat is ridiculously hard. What I find really offensive is the attitude of everyone at the Dealership including the service dept. I stand to lose a lot of money trading it in but it really feels like a liability and that is what I am forced to do. don't worry I wont be back to your dealer and hopefully no one else I know will either. I have nothing good to say about Mazda and could go on a lot more about what I don't like about the car.

I bought a car here in 2006, and had it serviced here while under warranty, for 3 years. My experience was great. The old guard has moved on, and the new people I dealt with in service are worse than useless, they are rude and controlling. Especially avoid "Tate."My car was in an accident, and was taken to a shop. I was not satisfied with the progress at that shop, and I had it towed, at my expense, to Rosenthal Gaithersburg Mazda, remembering the phenomenal service they used to offer. When I called on Thursday, they said to bring it in anytime, they had lots of time. I had it towed that afternoon. On Friday, there was no contact until I called, and then was told we had to do some work ourselves (putting the bumper back on) before they would test drive it. Okay, we did that. Saturday, they are open, but nothing. Monday comes around, nothing. Tuesday, nothing, until I call. Meanwhile, I am paying for a rental car out of pocket, because I chose to move the car to Rosenthal and thought it would be worth it. So on Tuesday, I am told that the rattle is due to two parts of my car that broke, but that they are 10 years old and rusty and would have broken anyway. Multiple light bulbs are out, but Tate feels the impact could not have caused it (anyone ever drop a flashlight?) Not only did he come up with this, he called the insurance company and told them that any damage to the car was not their responsibility.Huh?So now I'm out the towing, the rental car, the diagnostic fee, and the repair, and Rosenthal's guy decided to make sure insurance would not pay for it.My car may have had rusty parts, but they did not break and rattle before I was rear-ended. I also didn't have any light bulbs out.Shame on these guys. I'm never buying another Mazda (per Tate, rusty cars), and never going to this dealership for service as long as I own my car.

My husband and I came to this dealership late on a Saturday, pretty sure we were there to purchase a Mazda CX-5. We had narrowed it down to the CX-5 and one other car, and after driving the other car, we wanted the Mazda. We had our kids with us and made it clear from the start that we didn't want to mess around, just wanted to get a deal done. My husband asked for someone he had emailed with, and they pretended that person worked there but wasn't in that day. While waiting, he later figured out that the guy was at a different dealership altogether. We went along with the process, and first they insulted us by coming in far lower on our trade than anyone else had. We were going to leave, but they kept our keys and kept talking--the salesperson, then the manager, then both of them together. It was beyond annoying, and our children were tired and started acting up. Fortunately, they did suggest test driving the CX-5 again, since it had been a week or so since we'd driven it elsewhere. We did, just to get us and the kids out of the overly air-conditioned showroom. But the salesman went with us, so it was really cramped in the car. That totally worked against them, because we realized the CX-5 was too small for us. We also didn't like its claustrophobic feel. So by the time we returned, we weren't even jazzed about the car. But if they had made us an amazing offer, we might have reconsidered. They didn't. Manager even came out and told us his sob story about how he just didn't have the margin that other makes, such as Honda and Toyota have. That's when my internal BS meter really started going off. We just wanted out of there. They kept going on and on. My husband finally demanded our old keys back, and we left. They were still throwing numbers at us as we walked out the door! I have had marginal experiences with Rosenthal dealers before, but this one was the prizewinner. We ended up buying a Subaru, which we are very happy with, from a friendly, no-hassle dealership. The deal on the CX-5 was Rosenthal's to lose, and they lost it!

Most of us don't relish the thought of going to buy a new car because of the expectation that we will be jumped at the door, given the hard sell, hounded until we commit and if we don't sign a contract that day, called or emailed until we submit to the hounding. Well, that's not the way Gaithersburg Mazda does business. With a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, this unpretentious yet very professional dealership made my buying experience very comfortable. From the low pressure sales consultant Fernando Banco, through the very helpful and informative new car sales manager Sam Al Banna and the super-friendly sales manager Antonio Cornacchia, I felt I was treated fairly and with respect. The feeling of no-pressure continued with the financial services manager Amin Rehman, who expertly handled the paperwork. It became very apparent that the feeling of a friendly hug was something that was instilled in his staff by the head guy when I met John Haddad, the general sales manager. He, and the rest of his exceptional group made my buying a Miata feel...well, perfect. I actually look forward to seeing these guys again.

They were and end to end service provider that were more a set of consultants that were looking after my needs rather than a traditional car sales-team. Even the Finance Manager pitched in and added much value by answer my dozens of question.Well put together Team and the owner also dropped in on the deal to offer even more support and offered an on the spot free oil change for by first service.Thank you Dennis ( Salesman), Antonio (Floor Manager) and Mr. Rehman (Finance Manager).

My rating applies solely to the retail side of their business (used cars). I have not experienced their services yet. Pros: expeditious online inquiry follow-up, great customer service, informative staff. Cons: sales floor layout needs revamping, some new car sales guys could brush up on customer intake. First off, I am THE last person I would have expected to be writing a review of an Acura dealership, much less owning one. Honestly, Honda does a very poor job of linking itself to its luxury brand (Acura) - especially compared to Toyota and its Lexus brand. After already having decided to purchase a Lexus RX, I decided to contact them on a whim due to the local dealers not having the darker interior I wanted readily in stock. I found a solid match in their online inventry (MDX with tech pkg) and submitted an inquiry. Within hours I received a response and set up a time to test drive. My salesperson was very knowledgeable, polite, and bent over backwards to address all issues/inquiries I had related to purchasing - including coming in to meet with me on his day off! After having endured weeks of tiring back and forth with others dealers who failed to simplify my process by being upfront re: pricing, availability, and specs. Granted the new car sales on the floor could use some brushing up on customer intake (it's clear that used car customers are not their priority), I completed my car buying experience with renewed excitement thanks to Rosenthal Acura's simple, streamlined, customer-focused process. Harpreet and his colleagues are amazing - no aggravating time-wasters there!

I took a test drive of a new car (a very recently released model) and received a quote. I already had a quote from another dealer. The sales person was not knowledgeable about the car, its features or really much help at all. I already knew far more about the car than he did after looking at numerous online reviews, both written YouTube, studying the Mazda website, taking a previous test drive at another dealer. I asked for a quote and was initially given MSRP. When I said I had a quote of $500 under invoice from another dealer I was met with skepticism. The sales manager said he had the only car of that model and color in the Washington DC area, but I knew from the Mazda website that it was actually one of 3 in the area. Overall the sales manager was fair and professional, but could only give me $500 over invoice, so $1060 more than the other dealer, after considering tax. I ended up buying from the other dealer.

Great experience purchasing my 2nd Mazda CX-9! I got in touch with Joe Williford after I emailed another employee who moved to another dealership. You never know what you are going to get in this type of situation, but Joe was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable, low pressure, funny, and attentive. He knew when to joke around and he knew when to give me some space to think. He also brought me an excellent deal to start, so the negotiation was not difficult and lengthy. Once I got to Amin Rehman, I was equally pleased with his character. He was friendly, low pressure, and helpful. In addition to these 2 gentlemen, other employees were also friendly and helpful. Several others came over to me to just talk about the car that I was getting and to offer me something to drink. Overall, it was a great experience. I recommend Joe to anyone considering the purchase of a new Mazda.

I visited this dealership back in 2009 and was not happy with the service gentlemen he was not very helpful. We left and purchased my car from Fitzway in Fredrick MD. The reason I went to the Gaithersburg dealer is because we live in Germantown and I purchased my 1999 Isuzu trooper from the Gaithersburg dealer in1999. But when I went back to purchase another vehicle in 2009 the service gentleman was not pleasant at all. But this time I tried again and I was treated with the complete respect. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. All the service folks were very understanding and supportive on every question I had. I will be a returning tomorrow with a friend to look at an Acura. Thanks Gaithersburg Mazda sales Joe, and the manager Gary, and Amin, you guys are a great team !!!

We had an excellent sales experience at Gaithersburg Mazda. After some preliminary internet research, we stopped in unannounced and met with Drew Cox. (Besides the preliminary online price - one of the reasons we selected this dealer was that we weren't pestered to death by the sales rep once our information was "out there" on the internet.) Drew spent a lot of time with us, answering questions about the Mazda 3 that we were interested in. At no time did we feel that we were being "sold" on any feature or model that we did not need or want. In addition, both the Sales Manager and the Finance Manager were friendly and helpful. We were very satisfied with the final deal - and the timeliness and service in getting the car ready for delivery. Our previous experience at other dealers was that there would be heavy pressure to buy extra sealants and extended warranties. Here - the information was available - and presented without a sales pitch or pressure to buy. On the whole - a good buying experience for something that we typically dread doing.

I emailed the on-line department through AAA about a used CRV and RAV4. Andrew got back to me in about a day and said they would let me know if they were bought before I got a chance to get in there later that week. Never heard from him again. When I went on site to see the cars, a new salesman Steven came out to help me. He was BRAND new, which seems to be a theme here, second time this has happen to me. He searched for the cars. The RAV4 had been sold but the CRV was found over at Rosenthal Mazda lot, even though it was listed for Acura. The car was FILTHY! Smelled like dog, had dog hair ALL over the interior, there was food crumbs all over the floor. It was obviously being used as a personal vehicle and was never cleaned. It was sold to them (according to MVA) about 3 weeks prior. It also had damage to the front bumper that was not fixed. Even though there was all these cosmetic issues with it, I still was interested and told them I would come back tomorrow and it BETTER be cleaned, detailed and bumper fixed. In the day that passed, I also told them that an outstanding recall needed to be addressed which with A LOT of bickering from a guy named Mike (sales manager?)they did do everything I asked. The next day the bumper looked before but still had a small dent it in, the car was much cleaner but their detail people SUCK. Smeared cleaner and really smelly cleaning products....why did they not just ozone it after cleaning it. I was told that they used contractors and they are not great. So, other than these details, we did buy it. The sales manager on duty the day we bought it was Gary, and he is a charm, very nice, accommodating and very willing to please without being cheesy. Steven our sales guy was a bit flaky once we said we would buy it, he completely disappeared after seeing him for 1 min the day we bought it. I can't imagine going to this Acura again and although Gary made things pleasant, not sure about the Mazda dealership either.

Great buying experience. Everybody was courteous, helpful, resourceful and worked with us through all issues from selecting the right car for our budget to getting us the best financing rate. There was low pressure sales and pricing discussion was transparent and fair. We were especially pleased by the absence of low class sales tactics that one finds in the majority of dealerships. You won't hear thing like: "If I can get you this price, will you be buying this car?' or the steady back and forth between sales rep and manager. Instead the manager was engaged all along, trying to understand needs, and then trying to find the best options. During the two-hours visit I saw and heard the manager, Mike Allmon, twice coaching his staff on improving their honorable selling skills All verbal promises were kept from fixing a light to filling up the tank. This is the second time we have bought from this dealership and will do so again.

I'm a college student and my mom was buying the car. I dropped in on a whim when I was in the area after visiting Congressional Mazda. Dana was OK. Seemed like a decent guy but his sales manager (a hispanic guy), whose name I can't remember, seemed like a real slimeball. Needless to say, I felt VERY uncomfortable in the dealership and we purchased the car from Congressional Mazda in Rockville. I felt like they were up to something and just didn't feel good about being in the dealer or doing business with them. Perhaps they didn't think I was serious, being a young college student, or thought since I was young guy they thought they could pull one over one me. I wouldn't recommend them. We felt much more comfortable and welcome at Congressional.

Rarely do I submit reviews but this was the worst buying experience I have ever encountered. Monday (10/31/2011) I, like many, was taking advantage of the end of the month scramble to fill quota and get a good deal. After emailing the internet sales manager back and forth through out the day, we established a very decent deal for a 2006 Honda Civic- I planned to pay for it in full up front, cash. Maybe a half an hour before I made the hour trek leaving my 2 month old with family to go see this vehicle, I went as far as emailing them for the umpteenth time reconfirming "I am on my way, donot sell my car!" They were well aware that I was making the trip. In one of the multiple emails earlier, I even detailed the time I would leave and arrive there. Low and behold I arrive and the gentleman helping us, although very kind, informs me that the sister dealership behind them sold the vehicle about an hour before I even left my house because they share inventory but donot always inform each other of what they are taking. Very upsetting. To make matters worse, whomever he worked with in sales gave him a list of vehicles to offer me in the place of the Honda I wanted (Chevy Trailblazer, Nissan Murano) that I would not put on the same level, let alone the same vehicle type period. I did not want to jump from a sedan to an SUV- particularly a subpar SUV with horrible ratings! I pulled up Edmunds in front of them and instead of being honest with the crap they were offering me, they made excuses that "Its an SUV. SUVs are safe." Not true. GOOD SUVs are safe, the same as any other car. Safety is a big issue for anyone with a small child such as myself. Overhearing the situation, a lady sales person chimed in. Although she was also quite nice, she made the mistake of mentioning that THEY, not the sister dealership, sold the car I came in for. She also mentioned that they should show me the Honda they still had- which they apparently 'forgot' about until this point- instead. While this vehicle was nice, the price I was offered was nearly twice what I was paying for the Honda I came for originally! Worst of all, the sales manager had the nerve to act like they were doing me a favor with pricing on both the Chevy and the other Honda. On a more serious note they also, and again I can confirm this via email messages, assured me RECALLS were fixed on the vehicle when both Honda and Carfax said they had not been!!! Dangerous much??? All in all a terrible experience. They wasted my time which could have been spent at another establishment and wasted our gas as well. We will be filing a complaint with the BBB in hopes that this does not continue to happen to anyone else.

The purchase experience was fine, and I have had very good service experiences with them as well. I scratched my miata a few years ago and had to have the rear quarter panel repainted, and the paint work wasn't perfect. That is the only reason I didn't rate them a "5" on quality of work. I got a great deal on a Mazda Rx8 from this dealer. I shopped several Mazda dealers and I save almost $900 at this dealer. The transaction went smoothly and I would recommend this dealer.ji

First time visiting there for service, warranty repair. Not sure how to rate since my problem was (I think) simple yet it took 2 days to fix. My '04 MPV developed the dreaded engine misfire at about 43K miles and at least to me it was pretty much clear what it was causing it - ignition coil. This seems to be quite common for the MPVs - humidity combined with poor design results in early faiure of these parts (based on some posts at mpvclub.com). They finally fixed it on the second day and all seems fine. Tina was quite corteous and efficient in taking my car in and arranging for a loaner from Enterprise. Why not rate perfect 5? Two reasons. I asked them to replace all spark plugs in case they indeed end-up working on the rear bank of coils/plugs (for the cost of parts of course). They did not do it, despite the fact that my pre-diagnosis turned out correct - they had to replace one of the rear coils and one plug. Why such a big deal on my part? Because to replace the rear spark plugs one needs to dismantle half the engine to gain access and it will be a hassle to do it my self after my warranty expires... True, the plugs are only about half thru their stated life now, but I'd rather pay $15 now and get another 50K miles piece of mind than do it myself later or pay $250 or so for Mazda to do it later... Second complaint - grease on my steering wheel cover. No big deal, but why leave dirty marks behind... The car runs good though so it seems that the important work was done well.
