My family has been buying cars from Roberts Toyota since they were in Lewisburg, TN many years ago. My grandfather told me that he always trusted them and felt he was getting a good deal on his vehicles. Many years later I have found myself buying my Toyota vehicles there as well. I have personally purchased two new Tundras and a new Sienna from them since 2012 and all purchases have been painless and actually enjoyable. I live in Nashville and drive an hour to buy my Toyota's there - absolutely no comparison with the Nashville dealers. The Roberts family runs a great family owned dealership and I recommend anyone shopping for a new Toyota to check them out.

Last week while driving north on I-65 I noticed a billboard for Roberts Toyota of Columbia, TN. I had been in the market for a new 4Runner and put a deposit down on one at another dealership over 6 weeks before and had been getting 'the runaround' from that dealership. I phoned Roberts Toyota & Mr. Gene Sauls - The Sales Manager answered the phone and said come on in and we'll help you out. I arrived about 15 minutes later and met him and he worked to get me a new 4Runner. In just a little while after working with my sales person, Mr Cris Stutts and the General Sales Manager, Spencer Dudley they made me a deal and I left with a new 2016 4Runner SR5 Premium. The staff at the dealership made me feel welcome, didn't pressure me into buying anything that I didn't want and to say the least the experience was by far the best I've ever experienced at a new car dealership. I either talked or visited with 5 other Toyota dealers in Middle Tennessee and the experience at Roberts Toyota should make the other dealerships ashamed. I would highly recommend the buying process at Roberts Toyota in Columbia, TN.

Almost two weeks ago, I began searching for a new Toyota Camry. All total, I had conversations with five different dealerships in middle Tennessee. Only one went out of their way to offer me excellent customer service, a great deal, and the best car buying experience I've ever had: Roberts Toyota. Thanks Catherine Roberts, Erin Phelps Smith, Spencer Dudley, and Mike Milligan for your incredible service. I love my new Camry!

Shady sales practices Meaning less inspections Dishonest Sales management Unethical pre sale practices This will be a long review so for those of you who just want to know if I would shop at Roberts Toyota I would have to say No. When I first entered the lot I was greeted quickly enough, we started the process of test driving a car that was in my price range and close to what I want. The discussion of a CarFax came up, we reviewed the repair history of the car. Everything on the CarFax was clean. The sales rep brought up the 72 point inspection that Roberts Toyota does them self. This was discussed at length. The sales rep spelled out how the inspection works and painted a picture that this inspection would catch any major issues so I need not worry. So I purchased the car after a brief test drive. I drove home without issue, the next morning was another story. I got in the car to drive to work and the belt let out a short squeal that I assumed was a loose belt. That night when I started the car to leave for work the squeal was longer and louder. I was still assuming it was a belt. After 3 days the squeal started to happen not only when starting the car but while driving, there was not a rattle like a bearing burning out and the battery light was coming on. I returned to Roberts where I talked to Spencer the sales manager, he took me to the service center and assured me he would do everything he could to make this right. Spencer told me his tech though it was an idler pulley and told me to come back next week to have it replaced. I went home and inspected the car myself; there isn't an idler pulley on the car. I return to have the car worked on the next week and the service center confirmed my feeling that the alternator was going out. The Service tech also advised me that the 72 point inspection that was so detailed that I wouldn't have any issue has uncovered issues with the water pump, battery and alternator but the sale department didn't want to repair it before sale. So I no own a car that Roberts refuses to fix even though their 72 point inspection flagged the issue and they choose not to fix it. I would never purchase anything from this place again, nor would I send anyone there to buy a car

Had a quote for work done on my Sequoia in their shop. They said they would look it up and call me back. When they quoted it, they stated $900 for a V-8 and $700 for a V-6. All Sequoia's in my year came with the same V8 engine. I asked them what the standard labor hours were for the repair, and they didnt even know. They didn't even bother to look it up. I call another Toyota Dealer and got the price of $479.99 out the door, parts, labor and tax included. Get a second opinion before you have work done here.

Roberts Toyota has to be the worse dealership experience I have ever had. A few weeks ago I was in the market to purchase a new or "pre-owned" certified vehicle. Was immediately met by a gentleman (leaving name out) which was great, didn't have to wait or have to look long for someone. I go into telling him what I'm looking for and instead of deciding to show me to that vehicle which was available, he went on a rant showing me other cars completely irrelevant from what I was looking for. To humor him I followed and would listen to him, checked out his automobile but I insisted that I was really interested in another car I saw on the lot. He began to give me attitude that he was unhappy with the fact I wasn't interested in what he wanted to show me. Eventually I convinced him to show me another car on the lot, the one I originally stopped for. I received a price, which was way over MSRP and simply asked if they would go down a little because I noticed a few other Toyota dealerships offering much lower (by a few thousand). (some dealerships will go down with a reasonable offer and some will not). No big deal whether or not he would, doesn't hurt to ask. He then returned by saying that I should just go to that dealership if I want a better price. Shortly after that another customer came up and asked for help after he was done with me. Immediately the salesman walked over to the other customer and assisted them and completely ignored me from that point on. I didn't feel that was very professional. Anyways I eventually ended up buying from Damson Toyota of Florence/Decatur with an awesome deal that I am extremely happy with. Service was awesome there and made me feel comfortable the whole way through. Robert's Toyota could learn ALOT more in professionalism and customer service.

I recently bought 2 cars from this dealership and both times I was waited on by a salesman named Donnie Robertson. He was excellent. He was very knowledgeable of all the cars and answered all my questions. I felt that he was being completely honest with me and I felt very confident that I was getting the best deal, on both cars, that I could get. I bought one brand new and then bought a used car for my daughter. I was completely happy and satisfied with both transactions. Roberts Toyota is very lucky to have such a good, fair, reliable and honest sales person on their staff. I would recommend Donnie to anyone because I know they will get the best and most fair and honest deal they could get anywhere else.

This was without a doubt the best car buying experience I can recall. Donnie was my salesman and I thoroughly enjoyed the straight forward yet pressure free approach he has. I went to Roberts Toyota looking for a slightly used, low mileage car and was not planning on buying at this time. What I found at this dealer was a very clean, low mileage car at a great price. Donnie was very knowledgable about all the features of the automobile - more so than any "car salesman" I encountered. BUT probably the best part of all was that I got a very fair price right up front and I wasn't at the dealership all day trying to haggle with every one . Would definitely recommend Roberts Toyota to any of my family and friends and by all means look Donnie up if you want the best.

My salesman lied to me so many times I was shocked he had an open bible on his desk. I was told there was no "wiggle" room on the sticker price, and I was approved at a certain percentage rate. Said he was certain he could get Toyota to beat the rate the next day. Went home and pulled up their website and the car was listed 2000.00 cheaper! The next day when he called I asked why I could not get that price and he scampered, called back and went down on my trade in if I took that price! Then told me I would have to pay my monthly rate for 72 months! Then said a different interest rate! I went somewhere else got 1 1/2 interest rate better and got what I wanted without lies. I could not believe this man even raised his voice to me! I have a great Nissan with the same miles and only have to pay for 4 years at the price I wanted. The people at Barr Nissan are great and honest. I would never recommend Roberts, and my boyfriend who recommended them will never go back either. I am telling anyone who will listen about the great service I got at Barr and how horrid it was at Roberts.

The salesperson James told me anything and everything to get me down to the dealership. We had agreed on a price but magically the price went up about $1900 with fees and some package that consisted of exterior wax, wheel locks, and nitrogen in tires. I specifically asked him about any hidden fees or expenses to sell the vehicle and he said " nope, we're not Beaman, what you see is what you get". I am of middle eastern decent and when I arrived I could tell James looked very nervous and was very short with me. When I Showed his manager the emails where he quoted me a final price, they both said that the price didn't include THEIR fees. I got up to walk out and James told me I was a fool to not buy this car. He then said "if that's too much car than we can look at a used Prius instead of a new one". He was very insulting and acted as if he held a prejudice about my decent. I honestly don't think James knew the car and the equipment it had on it, or rather he just was quoting the wrong vehicle because the price was over MSRP which they hit me with once I arrived. They were also trying to keep the rebate and make me sign a form that said I was giving rebate to dealer......very unethical! I bought my vehicle from Cool Springs where I was treated very well and had a great buying experience. I would never go to Roberts Toyota to purchase anything, not even to get my service done due their inabilities to provide any type of customer service.

This is one of the best dealerships I have done business with, and since I am 72 and have had the privilege of buying many cars during my lifetime, I think that says a lot. James Scott was so accommodating and helpful and made the whole process of buying a car a very pleasant experience. I also bought a 2013 Tacoma from James and was satisfied with the way he and everyone there treated me. Also give the facilities there an excellent mark because it is clean and comfortable and convenient to the customers needs. Needless to say my next vehicle will come from Roberts Toyota in Columbia.

Wow! I believe this is the first time that I have been able to click EXCELLENT on all items that apply to a survey!! From the moment I pulled onto the lot of Robert's Toyota until when I pulled off the lot in my "new to me" used car, I had a great experience! I intentionally shopped the web prior to going to the lot due to my dread of being flocked by sales "vultures", but to my surprise that was not my experience. I was greeted by a kind, knowledgeable sales rep, James Scott, who looked at the list of cars I was interested in and off we went. We looked at all of them and test drove the cars that I had narrowed down. James was extremely patient with my decision making process, and very, very helpful in answering my multiple questions. Once my decision was made it was a shockingly smooth and quick experience with finance. It was a great car buying experience that stands out and above all others!

Went to look at a used car that was advertised cars.com. First, the vehicle was badly represented by the ad. Several features listed were not actually on the vehicle and the vehicle was listed as a Sport when it actually was a Base vehicle. The dealer blamed cars.com for the mistakes but I wonder... I spoke to the salesman before my visit and he assured me the vehicle was in pristine condition. Upon arriving, the car had numerous scratches, obvious cosmetic damages that the dealer poorly tried to cover up, and a $3,000-4,000 repair that was discovered upon taking the car to a repair shop nearby. The dealer claimed ignorance despite its claim that the vehicle was put through an extensive in-house review before putting on the lot. Either way, the dealer was either dishonest in trying to sell this vehicle "as is" or incompetent in finding the needed repair. The needed repair was found by the repair shop in a 10 minute cursory review of the vehicle. I would be very wary of dealing with this dealership.

This dealership is unique in that you don't get the normal high pressure sales tactics you find in other dealers. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the facilities are first rate. I highly recommend this dealership for both sales and service.

I have bought 2 Camrys from this dealership. They want to talk about Toyotas holding their value but wait until you have a Toyota to trade-in. For some reason your trade-in has not held its value. Also, who would pay $17,995 for a 2005 Camry LE even if it does just have just 37K miles! It is 4 years old now! This car is on their website as of 4/24/2008. And yeah, believe it or not KBB says they are not far out of line. We need to throw KBB out the window. They are on the dealer side now.We need a dealership that doesn't play games and try to make enormous amounts of money on cars that are just really average now since 2006.Follow Dave Ramsey's advice "Never buy a new car!" or added to what he says - never buy an overpriced used car.
