Leo Henry is THE BEST. I wasn't even looking to buy, just see what I could afford and get for my price range. I couldn't get approved for anything because of the negative equity on my car and I drove away in a 2017 Kia Forte! Leo did everything he could for me. I will NEVER recommend another salesman. LOVE HIM AND RIVERCHASE KIA!

I purchased a Kia Forte 11/18/16 from the Riverchase Kia dealership in Pelham. Let me start by saying like most people, I really do not like to deal with car dealerships, or pushy sales reps. I have purchased many cars in the past, and usually leave the dealership like I had put in a full days work with the negotiations, and back and forth. I can honestly say this time was completely different than past experiences. After a short interview, where I provided a few details, and what I was interested in, I was paired up with sales rep Leo Henry. Leo is very friendly, professional, and shot me straight. I told him exactly what I needed payment wise, and Leo got it done. I was never passed off to another sales rep, or sales tagged teamed by anyone else. I dealt with Leo only, and never felt pressured, or rushed to make a decision. In the past I had spent what seemed to be all day at the dealership trying to finalize a deal, this time I was in and out in less than a couple hours. I thought the dealership was very fair with my trade in, and in explaining all details to the questions I had. I would definitely consider purchasing another vehicle from this dealership again in the future, and highly recommend using Leo Henry as your sales representative. I would recommend friends, and family to use this dealership when looking to purchase a automobile.

So I took my car into be serviced at Riverchase Kia, where I bought it, and I paid for my wheels to be rotated, only to get home and know for a fact that they were not rotated. I wonder what else was paid for and not completed. Anyone who is or has used them needs to question them also.

Brought my Kia Optima into the service department for an oil change. We checked the oil when we left. It had not been changed. We went to Walmart the next day and had to get oil change. the oil and filter had not been changed at all. Very dissatisfied and will not be back for any type of service.

I stopped in after work to "look" at cars. I had found on in another city but really didn't want to travel so far from home (4 hours)l. I found one I liked, the 2017 Forte, but we just couldn't get the financials where I wanted. I left and made it half way home (45 minutes) when my salesman Mark called and said that the finance manager had worked some magic and gotten me into a nicer car with no money down and payments where I needed them. This was all with pretty substantial negative equity for the car I already had. I LOVE my new 2016 Kia Optima and really appreciate everyone that worked so hard to help me.

I had turned in a Cadenza to this dealer that was coming off the lease. The personnel indicated on my inventory form that I had one Key Fob although two were turned in; one was absent its valet key. Upon realizing the error (after leaving the state) I called and was informed that they could not indicate anything but one but would make a pen and ink change. Unfortunately they did not and the leasing Company charged me for a missing Key Fob. I attempted to call them (Riverchase Kia) back several times and was brushed off or simply ignored. I would recommend to readers to seek a company with higher ethical values and better integrity

We showed up at Riverchase Kia with, honestly, the thought of walking out with nothing. I had no money down and no trade in. i was nervous that things were not going to work out in my favor. I had brought my 5 year old with me, and was worried she would get into things. Mr. Frye was very helpful and helped entertain my little girl. I always dread the thought of going to car dealerships due to stories previously told. I thought it was going to take forever. But I showed up around 9 and was walking out of there in my brand 2016 Kia Forte around 1130am. Quick and fast. He worked with us and did not beat around the bush. Teddy Frye was straight forward and honest about the whole situation. It was the day before my birthday and i couldn't have asked for a better experience!!


High pressure/way over charged/non disclosures

There was very high pressure to sign that day. Before I knew it, I had WAY over paid and had been told the terms would not be more than 72 months, but somehow mine is 75 months. I was not given the option of getting gap insurance, but I was charged $800 for it. That was never mentioned at all. All done with a smile on their face and a big thank you. I would never recommend this dealer and will go out of my way to NOT recommend them. The only follow up I received was a "sorry about that ", and no reply to my email showing other prices in my area that were much less. The actual salesman wasn't as bad as the "closer", finance manager. He just needed a sale. I received a generic response from Kevin Woody on this site, where he said he would love to have a another chance to make things right... I called him today and again, I got an "I'm sorry." Well that is just words they don't even mean and does nothing "to make things right ".

Went to just look; the first time was looking for an SUV and they made us feel at home. We purchased what we what within 2 hours and for what we said we would pay per month. Nice people. Next carried SUV in for service, saw a used Ford Ranger. Talked to Teddy Frye while oil was being changed. Could not turn down what great offer he made us to drive away within 2 hours was a pickup. They have always stood behind what they say. Go by and give them a try, you will be glad you did.

Lionel Lee was amazing. I absolutely detest car dealerships and car salesmen. Like to the point where after my first financed car, almost 10 years ago- I paid cash for any vehicle thereafter. Having moved in from out of state- and not having the most reliable transportation, we sold both our vehicles- and at the same time didn't realize that even the good credit stuff falls off your report. It put us in a bit of a bind and Lionel worked very hard and explained a lot more than any other car salesman ever has. I never felt like he pressured us to make a sale- and even though the most intelligent thing would have been to shop around? I really felt like I could trust Lionel!! When our payments came back higher than we wanted - he went through and explained why- then he gave us information regarding refinancing (when it would be best to do- even though we can do it anytime- he advised us the best time to consider it) - and he also explained how the "credit rebuilding program" which Kia offers- comes at a high interest rate - he told us why that was and everything! He was so informative I had very little to ask the actual financing department!! I genuinely believe that although- as a car salesman- I know they all want the sales - but Lionel took the time to make sure we understood why we were getting the kind of deal we were, and gave us a lot of advice regarding how to get everything to the point we had wanted to be at when we walked in the door ( the point we thought we were at honestly).I can tell you that as long as Lionel is at Riverchase Kia? I got a car! Wow! Let me setup my story so you can understand my Wow! So I had a car that was worth 9,000 and I owed 17,000. I went to Riverchase Kia b/c my mama advised me too. I pull up like well let's see. I drive around the place looking at the cars. In my mind I am doubtful. I park and get out and began walking through the cars. ( I always look at the smallest car) even though I am bigger than the car. Out comes Teddy Frye he begins to ask if I need assistance I explain my situation. He said I can help. (Again in my mind I'm like yeah Right) We sit there and I give him. License, check stub and he works out the numbers and says my manager is dealing with the bank lets go drive a car. (Again in my head I'm like NOOOOOOOOO because if I don't get approved I am going to be angry.) We drive I am in a white 2016 Kia Optima with 200 miles in it. Did I mention it was hybrid. So I am shifting from ECO to regular loving it. Mr. Frye is telling me all about the features. We get back to the dealership I am in love. So I wait probably five minutes and guess what I GOT APPROVED. NO LONGER DO I HAVE TO FILE BANKRUPTCY TO GET OUT OF LOAN. I have a car that is worth something to me... Tears began to stream down my face. Today I am an owner of a 2016 KIA OPTIMA HYBRID. THANKS TEDDY FRYE! I placed and inquiry online and received a call back later in the afternoon, however I live 1 hr and 45 mins from the dealership, I was told if I could be there by 8:00, they would take care of me and they did. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable (Leo's knowledge of the car models was almost encyclopedic!), and did everything they could to help us find a car we liked, liked to drive, and fit what we were looking for. What should have been a wonderful experience was tainted by the abundance of incompetency the financing department showed-repeatedly. Buying a car can be really stressful, but my experience he was not. I had done a lot of homework on small, used cars with good safety, gas mileage, and quality. I knew exactly which car on the lot I wanted. The first day, I met with Teddy to conduct my test drive. He is new to car sales, and I could tell that he was still refining his knowledge of the car and how to interact with customers. But he struck me as personable, straight-forward, and low pressure. He directed me on which roads to take during my test drive and chatted with me and my husband while we rode around. He provided us with the price for my car, and did not pressure us when we said we were on our way to test drive other cars at other dealerships. One complaint is that we were told he would be with us shortly, and then we had a very, very long wait. No one came by to tell us how long we had or why this wait was occurring. I was also taken aback by the way he initially ignored that I was taking the lead in the conversation--I was buying the car and my husband was just there to give his opinion. However, he directed the conversation to my husband and only took his name down until I corrected the situation. While the test drive was mostly pleasant, he did veer off into politics and began discussing views I don't hold. Of course he can have these views, but it's not really the time to go into that. He also told me that the car had a 5-star safety rating when it was 4, and that the button for folding the side view mirrors were for defrosting them. I could tell that he's working hard to become the best salesman he can, and I think he can easily smooth out these minor rough spots.The next day, I returned and Teddy was out. I bought the car from Kim. I called her on the phone and she answered my questions. She was quite knowledgeable throughout the process and also pleasant to work with. I was disappointed that when I asked if the dealership would fix the small dent in a fender, she told me that it would cost $300. Not her fault; she was relaying the manager's response. I would expect that if I'm buy a car worth over $11,000, they could make it like new for me for such a small repair. I told her I was coming in later and at what time, however when we got there again we had a very, very long wait. She got us to sign all the paperwork, and then (because one of the financiers had a family emergency and was out of the office) we had even a longer wait. Again, we were not updated as to how long to expect this wait to be. This time it was so long that I sent my husband out to pick up some burgers. We finally got called back to the finance office in the middle of eating.Rose took care of our financing. She was very quick with the stacks of paperwork. She called me a day or two later to get a copy of some paperwork that she forgot. I took a picture and texted it to her. She told me that she would send my title once my check cleared, but it did not show up. I needed it in order to register my car.Luckily/unluckily, when I was driving my car home (during a huge rainstorm) from the dealership, my husband noticed that both a headlight and a brakelight were out, despite the car being Q-certified. I called Teddy, and he assured me that the dealership would fix everything free of charge. Of course I had to drive back an hour each way to get these things fixed. While I was there, the mechanic also changed my worn wipers (which should have happened before the car was sold as well.) I also got Teddy to remove the old owner's belongings from the glove box--toothbrush, credit card, paperwork, change, advil, etc. While the car had been very well detailed and was quite clean, this was overlooked and was a breach of privacy for the former owner. This made me doubt the meaning of the Q-certification. It was supposed to mean a high quality inspection had been performed. Clearly it hadn't. I also saw Rose again at this time. She seemed to have forgotten that she was supposed to send me anything, but she printed out my application for title at that time. Unfortunately again, when I went to register my car, I found that Rose did not provide me with the bill of sale. I had all the paperwork I was provided from the dealership because I brought the entire envelope unopened from when I received it. I was sent away from the DMV, but I called the dealership from the parking lot. Rose took my call and texted me the bill of sale. The DMV agent was able to print it out and accept this form. I'm glad it all came to a happy end, but I did experience several bumbles in the sale of this care which were highly inconvenient and were avoidable with some attention to detail.

First off let me say that Kim Woodall and Kevin Woody are two of the nicest individuals that I have ever met in the car biz and yes I have met quite a few. I actually drove 2.5 hours each way to do business with Riverchase Kia because they had the specific used vehicle that I was looking for. My initial impression was good, Kim and Kevin met with me found out exactly what I wanted to accomplish and set out to unite me with my next vehicle. I test drove the vehicle and was somewhat satisfied but there was a minor vibration upon acceleration but when I asked about it I was told the car had been in the dealer's inventory for quite some time and it could be flat spots on the tires. They also told me that several people had attempted to buy the car but they could never make the deal happen. The explanation seemed plausible. I noted several deficiencies with the car; door dings, no floor mats and some really bad window tint that rendered the rear window all but useless. I wasn't looking for a massive amount off the asking price but some meeting in the middle would have been appreciated. Well that plan was shot down immediately with the age old "we have too much in the car". Against my better judgement and because the car WAS incredibly difficult to find on the entire east coast I sucked it up especially since the first off on my trade in, while a bit low in my opinion, was decent. We were able to move the needle slightly on the trade but not enough to truly make me feel like the time I spent driving over to do business with this dealership was worth it. When I asked about a 2nd key I again got news that there was only one key and they would be unable to assist me with getting a 2nd key by either splitting the amount with me, helping me to get one at their cost or even deducting that amount from the price of the car. I was a bit flabbergasted but by this point I just wanted to get the xxxx out of the dealership and get on with my 2.5 hour drive home that was about to become 3.5 with Birmingham's notorious evening traffic. I proceeded with the deal and asked them to remove the window tint from the back window while the car was being "detailed". When I walked out after dealing with finance to transfer my belongings from my trade in to the new vehicle I noticed the car was clean but the offending window tint was still in place, the detail guy came forward and stated he was afraid to remove the film because he thought he might damage the rear defroster elements. So I left with my newer car with one key, no floor mats and a virtually unusable rear window. My internal calculator was tallying how much more I was going to have to come out of pocket on this deal for things that should have been taken care of by Riverside. One other glaring item at no point did the sales manager come over to introduce himself or explain his position on taking care of my concerns. To say that he hid behind his desk and his employees would be generous. I have never had that happen and again it raised some red flags for me but at this point I was committed. On the drive home, when I was finally able to get up to highway speed that front end vibration that I mentioned earlier manifested itself again at 55mph, 65 mph and above 70mph. So when I got a chance on Saturday I took it in and had the wheels, examined, balanced and rotated in anticipation of it being corrected. No dice. I drove it for 4 more days and went to another shop to have the wheels road force balanced in hopes of getting it resolved. Again no dice. The vibration actually got worse. I took it to my local Honda dealer and explained what was going on and left it with them for a diagnosis. 2 hours later I got a call saying the drivers side CV axle needed to be replaced. I wasnt happy but at least I knew the cause of the issue and hopefully it would resolve it. The closest available part in Iowa and it took 3 days but it was installed and I picked up the car and begin my journey home. That phantom vibration? It was still there. I took the car back the next day and relayed my concerns to the Honda dealer and they advised they would take another look. 4 hours later I got the call that the passenger side CV axle was also bad and needed to be replaced. I shook my head and advised them to proceed. They ordered the parts and said it would be two days. The next day my service advisor called and said that while they were taking the car apart to replace the other CV axle they also discovered the half shaft was defective as well. Needless to say I wasnt happy but at least now I knew why the car performed the way it did and what it would take to repair it. The saving grace in all of this is that there was a warranty provided on the car and it covered the bulk of the charges. I paid a $200.00 deductible but honestly I think that should have been waived. The time I have spent correcting the things that should gave been doe prior to the car being offered for purchase I will never get back or be compensated for. I honestly dont think Riverside ever really did an inspection on the vehicle and if they did it was an extremely poor one. It feels as if they did a cursory inspection, waited for the title to clear and slapped it on the lot for sale with a wash and some tire shine. After all of my work and time the vehicle now drives the way it should have the day I took possession of it.If you ask me if I can recommend this dealership I would have to say no. If Kimberly and Kevin were with a different organization I would tell you to run, not walk, to see them for your next vehicle, but unfortunately they are with an organization that appears to value its profitability over building customer loyalty and doing the right thing. Am I happy with my car? For the moment now that seemingly all of the issues have been worked out I am satisfied but if I had to do it all over again I would have waited until I found the right vehicle from the right dealership that valued my visit and my patronage.

This is the first car I have purchased in almost ten years. Mostly, because I hate going to car dealerships. The last few cars I have bought have been from individuals, and I have always pain cash. I had just had surgery on my neck, so I didn't have time to save any cash to out right buy a car. So I have been debating on whether to keep my old car that always needs parts replace because of age or just but a new one. So I bought a 2014 Kia Rio to drive back and forth to work. I wanted somethings with great mpg and I think 41 is about as good as you can get and still have four doors. Thank you guys for all you hard work with no pressure!

I went to get a quote for a tire for my 2016 kia and the lady in the service department wrote my info on a yellow sticky pad with no good details. Then I asked for something more professional. Then she just put it on a bigger piece of paper with no letter head. I was treated like I was getting on her nerves. I will be buying my tire somewhere on than Kia. This was on 3/1/2016 around 8:45am

I had already met with several sales reps from other companies that were pushy and trying their best to just put me in a car whether it was what I wanted or not. I was sold by the greeting that I got upon arrival.It was pouring down rain and the sales rep met me at the door with an umbrella and said "Hello, my name is Leo. What would you like me to help you accomplish today?" That spoke volumes to me and he was incredible to do business with. I told him what I had, what I needed, and what I could afford and he didn't quit until he had met everything I laid out without ever once trying to get me to commit to more that what I had told him I could do in the beginning. I will continue to do business with Leo and Riverchase Kia from here on out!

I was looking for a new vehicle, because due to traveling for work, it was time to park my Explorer which had over 200,000 miles on it. Joseph Bibb (Joey) showed us the new 2016 Forte, and I absolutely loved it! It had all the options I needed, and the pricing was great. The finance team had us approved and processed very quickly, which I was not used to in other dealership experiences. While they were taking care of me, my wife was saying how much she loved the KIA Soul, and would really like to have one...in ALIEN green :) As it worked out, we went back to see Joey a few weeks later, and ended up trading her car in on a new Soul. Now my wife is as happy as she can be. Let me just say, if you are in the market for a new or used vehicle, go see Joseph Bibb at Riverchase KIA in Pelham, AL. if you get the contest in the mail it is only a scam to get you there. mine said I won $500. When I got there they said no the card only shows that you have a chance to win $500, look at the fine print.It was not in the fine print. Then they tried to sell me a car. My comment was there is no way I can trust you with a car if you mislead me with your contest.

I tried to purchase a 2016 KIA Sorento recently at Riverchase Kia. The car is good, but the sales manager was very aggressive and even yelled at customers. It felt like a nightmare sitting with the sales manager. Will never recommend Riverchase Kia to anybody I know.

I went to purchase a Kia Optima, 2014 with 15,000 miles and was told that they would run my credit ONCE as a soft inquiry....come to find out it was not a soft inquiry and they ran it THREE TIMES! in my opinion, i would not recommend to anyone with poor credit because their interest rates are outrageous. I will say the computer technician, Kevin, was the only good thing about the dealership. he is very friendly and easy to work with and is only wanting to help you, not trying to get you to sign for a car after only test driving ONE car ONE time like the salesmen do. Kevin Woody was the only person who actually cared what i wanted and was willing to work with the salesmen to try and get me the price i was looking for. I ended up finding a brand new car with 400 miles on it for the same price as their 2014. I recommend Kevin, but no one else. i dont even remember the salesmen's names because they were so awful.

I brought my car 2011 KIA for a recall and the repair a door switch on a Friday afternoon.Spoke to the service rep on Saturday for an update - was promised a call when it was ready. No call - I called back - he had left for the day - they told me the car was ready. Customer Service Failure #1.Was to call me the following Monday about KIA replacing a switch under "extended- customer satisfaction" warranty - no call. Failure #2.I had to call back on Wednesday - had not done what was requested. Failure #3. He called KIA warranty - called me back - would not cover a $16.00 door switch. I asked for the person's name at KIA who made the decision - he said he would send me an email that day. Never received. Failure #4.Called back again on Friday - had not done it. Failure #5. - Just "too busy".I asked for the Service Manager - they currently do not have one. Now my concerns twofold - KIA made a car that had to be recalled and did not hesitate to inconvenience me by bringing my car in for a repair - leaving all day and having to arrange for two rides. When I asked them for a $16.00 switch that failed just over 50,000 miles - but was not returned for service until it was 3000 miles outside the warranty period - the answer was " no". The service Rep. at the dealership does not honor his promises. He failed 5 times in a week to do what was requested. I have asked for the "regional" rep who made the decision to not to cover such a inexpensive part under customer satisfaction - I have yet to get a name and direct number. First I was told it was a specific "regional rep" , then I was told that it was the general "KIA Warranty " number. I plan to go to the KIA website this weekend - look up the person responsible for service in North America - send him an overnight letter expressing my dissatisfaction as to the way I have been treated. It has nothing to do with the $16.00 - it is all about the poor "customer experience" that I received and how they have failed at every opportunity to properly treat a customer. I have not been treated fairly and promises not honored.Does not surprise me when I read the reviews - beware.

Of course you can go in and look at the more expensive model. Which they will not give you a price over the phone. Too old school pressure tactics. From new car sales to service this dealership excels at neither. I have owned 5 Kia's since 2003. Recently moved here from out of state. First 60k mile service and I need an alignment, brakes, (which the brakes had been replaced at 40k miles) needless to say none was required. Then the steering wheel is not aligned after the alignment, nothing like driving straight forward down the road with steering wheel turned. Will never let them service vehicle. New car sales they maintain a vehicle on website and when you call on it "It should not be on there, it was used as a customer transport" and of course you can come and check out other models. Months later that vehicle is still on website, no pricing,high pressure and just overall buying experience you want to avoid!

I was looking at buying a car, my kid was getting a soda in the building and was walking back out to me and the salesman. The next thing i know a guy pulls around the parking lot at full speed in a Saab and almost runs over my kid. The salesman said his name is tony with the service dept and I asked the salesman to report the maniac. I was very close to buying Sorento until I learned that the guy who almost ran over my kid would be the person fixing it if I needed a repair.

Well i pulled up.... and 2 people walked past me like I was Casper, finally a gentlemen greeted me and i told him my issue... and 2 hours later it was resolved... My issue is 1 there needs to be a place for small kids to play... the service wait for a oil change is wayyy too long for small kids... and this is with an appt..whoever fixed my mirror also left the adhesive trash, razor blade, and mechanic rag in my cup holder..Then customers/buyers were placed in the same waiting room with annoyed kids and complaining service dept customers... Which were not giving them a positive outlook on their future with Riverchase Kia... now back to the Razor blade left in my car...Not a good look...

Tony Knight is a CROOK, his sole purpose is to extract as much money as possible for "repairs" that are not needed and I speak from experience when I say that he charged me for new parts and just rehabbed the old parts but I knew because I looked at the old parts before the operation and noticed scrathes that are as unique as fingerprints the same ones were on it afterwards and he "has no idea, you must be a complainer" he says. TONY KNIGHT NEEDS TO BE FIRED FROM THIS JOB AND ANY JOB WHERE HE DEALS WITH THE PUBLIC! He thinks he is Tony Saprano.

I moved to Birmingham from Huntsville (the dealership in Huntsville is awesome by the way)- Any who, every time I've taken my car to River-chase KIA it's been an awful experience. Not only are the service men rude but they don't honor warranties and they take advantage of you. I had work done on my car 2 years ago and they told me my warranty wouldn't cover it-so, I paid for the work- well 2 years later, I have the SAME problem and not only will they not fix it for free but tell me it's going to be $2200 to fix. After reviewing my warranty book, I found out that the work should be covered under my warranty. I spoke with the service manager, Tony and he agreed also. Tony also agreed to refund me for the work that was done 2 years ago. Well needless to say (2 months later) I'm still waiting on my refund. KIA has supposedly filed a claim to corporate to reimburse me- but it's still in process. And don't bother trying to get updates, KIA corporate is rude and every time I try calling Tony for an update-he sends me to his voicemail and NEVER returns my call. This company is not helpful one bit. I also tried contacting the General Manager BUT he's just giving me the run around to. This is absolutely ridiculous. If you can, avoid this company all together. They're crooks. WORST DEALERSHIP EVER. Makes me want to trade in my Kia just so I NEVER have to deal with them EVER again.

I don't know the names of the people in Riverchase Kia service but I do know when I am being called a rat! When I took my soul into this dealer for brake service I was quoted more than I could afford that day so I asked the guy who was originally standing at the computer putting my car info in if he could tell me if their was a more economical way to get me back on the road for the short term. He said let me ask the boss and after 5 minutes I came around the back where he and a person were talking. I was going to wait for them to stop talking to ask about another finance option for the fix on my car which is when I heard the boss saying to the service guy "you got another rat huh I am seeing more here than we had in Atlanta". then they described the problem with my brakeline and chuckled. For the reasons of wanting my car fixed I took my car to the Honda dealer down the street and at least was not called a rat and laughed at. Anyway this dealership has gone down hill in the last 3 years, it use to be really nice.

After going to the Riverchase Kia Service Department I am never going back. There was a service manager working on 11/28/2014 (Tony Knight) who stated that I buy a part that another Kia dealer said I didn't need. I am glad I got a second opinion even though the first one was the right one. He was very deceitful in charging me $99.00 for a diagnostic that he insisted I pay for then just said I needed a battery. I just want to warn you of my experience, so that you can hopefully go to one of the other Kia dealerships and avoid Riverchase Kia if you are thinking of going to their service department, plan on getting nickel and dimed and overcharged for unneeded services. Also, they put a small scratch on the steering wheel control button for the cruise control.

I do not recommend this dealership. We saw a vehicle on inet for $14,715. Went to test drive it and discuss buying it. The sticker price was $14,715. They asked what monthly payment we needed. Told them not over $250 a month. They came back and had agreed to the $250 a month. They had actually bumped the price up to $16,244.55. We thought that was with tax, title and tag included, it was not. When I called them, thinking this was an error, the sales manager said the mark up is their profit! Apparently there is nothing we can do. I believe this to be trickery and unethical!

I purchased two new Kia's from Riverchase Kia earlier this year. One of them gave us problems from the very beginning, causing us to have it towed to Riverchase Kia almost every week for the first month we had it. The car was in their shop for an average of 5 days the first three times we had it towed there the last time 5 WEEKS. During those three visits they told us that they didn't know what was causing the problem(1st), replacing some parts(2nd), then replacing more parts(3rd). When picking up the car after the third time(which reeked of cigarette smoke)my wife an I were told that if the car gave us any more problems they(Riverchase Kia)would put us in another car. Less than a week later the car broke down again with the same problem. We were at the dealership as soon as they opened the next day to be put in a different car just as they promised. While we were talking with the salesman the OWNER of the dealership walked in,sat down with us, took our keys and told us that he was not going to put us back in the car and that he would not want to drive that car himself. He told us to give him a couple of days while he visits with Kia corporate. He said that he would call me on Tuesday and set up a time to meet with us and resolve it once and for all. Tuesday came and went, no call from the OWNER, no call from anyone at Riverchase Kia. I called my salesman the next day to find out why I had not heard from anyone, he said that he didn't know. I called multiple times and asked for the CSM only to be forwarded to voice mail and my calls were never returned. The only person that I could ever get in touch with was my salesman who could only tell me that he had mentioned it to his CSM or to the OWNER and they are looking into it. FIVE WEEKS LATER I receive a phone call from their service department telling me that my car was ready to be picked up. I called the CSM who again did not return my phone call and I called my salesman who could only tell me rumors that someone was doing something. I had no other option but to pick the car up, which I did the following weekend. The car has been running fine so far, but my wife and I feel like we have been drug through the mud. We were lied to, avoided, and treated as if we hadn't just spent multiple thousands of dollars with them. I suggest that you be very careful about buying a car from Riverchase Kia.

I went here in 2011 with my father to purchase a brand new kia soul 2011. I was 19 at the time and knew very little about cars. My father, who is normally very good at dealing with people, was extremely sick at the time.. but because my current car's transmission was going out, and I had made the mistake of going to Carmax and purchasing a 2008 Ford Focus with only 1 day left to change my mind, I was in a rush to get a new car. Otherwise, I would have shopped around more. Anyway, upon coming to the dealership, my father and I browsed through several different cars until I saw a 2011 Kia Soul, Limited edition, on the lot.. It was the tiger-striped, and supposedly fully loaded. Being a 19 yr old girl, I fell in love instantly. I ended up trading in my 2005 Limited Edition pt cruiser for the $5000. Even after that, what should have been a $18-20k car ended up costing me almost $26,000.00. Recently, I tried to trade in my car with Honda who was going to work out a deal with me so I could get the car of my dreams ( A Honda Civic ), and Kia informed them they would only pay 9,000 for my car. Which is FAR below the KBB value. Not only that, but according to my warranty, I am only able to have maintenance done AT the Kia dealership or my warranty becomes invalid. I also can not have any additions put onto my car (Interior lighting, etc) without it affecting the warranty.Over all, I feel that I was cheated out of a lot of money for a mediocre car that 1) Does not get the gas mileage it's supposed to. 2) Is NOT Worth the $30,000.00 it cost to purchase it (prior to the trade in.) 3.) comes with a $368.00 a month car payment.

I called the dealership prior to driving over an hour to be very disappointed.. I talk with Matt Alexi before going and told him what I wanted and my financial situation and was assured that everything looked good by Jeff Williams.. I told him I needed detail as to what he meant because we didn't want to waste gas and time to be disappointed. He still assured me that everything was good. After arriving to see Matt, he quickly turn the sale over to Clarence Raspberry, who was very nice and polite. We spent almost 2hours there, to be informed that everything I ask for was impossible, which I should have been told before driving over an hour. They tried to put us in a used or lower grade vehicle, which was very degrading. All they wanted to do was get us to the dealership to offer a completely different deal. They did not offer compensation to us for our time and gas. Word of advise if considering this dealership, shop your local dealers first and don't rely on anything you are told by phone..!!!!!

I can add to the other reviews who have had a very bad experience with Riverchase Kia. I called to make an appt. to bring my wifes 2011 Kia Sorento in for service. The guy seemed less than interested in my call and merely asked when I wanted to bring it in. I told him if possible I would like the following day. He responded that would be fine never asking my name or any information other than my issues: a sagging headliner and the windshield washer was either stopped up or not working. "OK, see you tomorrow," he responded. We arrived today and the gentleman we spoke with mentioned they couldnt do anything about the headliner as their "trim guy" only came in on Mondays. I responded that it was unfortunate that the day earlier when I mentioned my problem that no one had mentioned that to me. His only response, "I wasnt here." I left the car and came back several hours later after being called and told it was fixed. I walk outside after paying and find that the windshield washer STILL doesnt work. When I ask the technician mentions that there must be some fungus in the tank and when he blew out the lines he sort of figured and wasnt the least bit surprised it did not fix it for good. I really do not know how to respond. I take my car in to get it fixed not have them give it a shot and whatever happens could happen. Am I supposed to just not use it anymore? Does it just not get fixed? The service advisor mentions after a bit of uncomfortable silence, "Well, we can fix it but it wont be under warranty and will cost you $50." I can do it now, says the tech.....No, I would rather not bother you with it, I say. I should have been given the option to fix it when they called me rather than some lazy, worthless attitude of I figured that wouldnt fix it. I went home and removed two anchors under the fender and was able to see that the tank was absolutely clean with no fungus in it. I cleaned the pump screen of what appeared to be a wet piece of paper towel and it works perfectly. It took me 5 min.. I have to mention that as I was leaving the place they had a used car in the back that they were painting the bumper on IN THE PARKING LOT!! Talk about a first class place. This is the second time I have used Riverchase Kia for service. The first time they charged me $100 to replace a hub assembly for the rear wheel. I already had the part...just remove 8 bolts and replace it...Every other servicing dealer I have spoken with says that was exorbitant. They are out to take advantage of you with vehicle service and scam you any way that they can...avoid them at all costs. Also, I have to add that their $5k-$10k trade in allowance on new vehicles merely means they add a dealer addendum of the same amount and after all the shuffling and smoke and mirrors they may get to $2k above sticker and consider that a deal. Are people really stupid enough to fall for this? Clearly they want to be a part of the SERRA franchise of dealerships where they only care about the initial sale and whatever $$ they can make off of it. Nothing else matters. Go to Tuscaloosa or Atlanta where they appreciate you and treat you like a person.

After calling and speaking with them about my credit I drove the hour to the dealership because they claim that if you bring home "$350 a week" they want to approve your credit. I make a little ove $350 a week and they said that they could work with me! I get there and all they have to sell me is an old ragged crossover that I do NOT want and i told them before i drove the hour that i was only interested in the Forte. After finally finding a Forte that I could live with even though it is a base model with NOTHING power i said ok see what you can do on this car. After sitting there for over an hour while they try to get me approved they come back and tell me that there is nothing that they can do for me and almost run me out the door. They were VERY RUDE once they found out that even though the commercial "claims" they can help me because i make over $350 a week (I work for the State of Alabama Department of Transportation) they couldn't do anything. I don't care how much money I have and how bad or good my credit may be in the future I would NEVER go back there to try to buy ANYTHING!!!!!! They ruined my outlook on a Kia all together. I went and bought a FORD instead and I am glad that I did!

THE WORST KIA DEALERSHIP IN THE COUNTRY!!! DO NOT GO HERE. THE POSITIVE POSTS ARE FROM THE SALESMEN THEMSELVES. I was in the market for a Kia Sorento in a specific color and trim package. I have literally spoken to or have visited most of the Kia dealerships in the Southeast. Riverchase Kia are SCUMBAGS! The salesman (forgot his name but they are all the same) called me stating they had what I was looking for after I had previously inquired. He also stated that they would give me $5000 for my trade as long as it could drive to the lot. I explained to him that my 2000 Mustang with 167000 miles was worth only about $1500. He stated it didn't matter because it was a rebate from the manufacturer. I told him that it better not be a gimmick, as I was going to have to drive an hour to get there. He assured me everything would go well and that this rebate was going to end in a few days. I get there and he states that they had sold the vehicle the day before and that he didn't realize it (this was a lie, Kia Motors said they never had it). He said that they could do a dealer trade and have the vehicle on the lot within a few days. I asked if the $5000 trade in value still applied, and he said yes. When they did the paperwork the vehicle was $3000 above the sticker price!!! I asked how the heck that could happen, and he said I didn't qualify for the $5000 because it wasn't in stock. So, we walked around and I found one in stock that I was willing to settle on since I was getting $5000 off. We did the paper work and now we were $2000 above sticker price. Oh, and no, this is not even including taxes and title. The salesman then became extremely rude with me. I went and spoke with the sales manager who was even more rude to me. Locklear Kia in Tuscaloosa was going to put me in the same vehicle with more options for thousands less. STAY AWAY FROM RIVERCHASE KIA!!!!!!!!!
