Coming to this dealership was planned, but not really. My boyfriend and I had come in literally for sh*ts and giggles just to look and maybe buy. Came in looking for a used 2013-15 Honda Accord EX-L w/ V6. After looking around the lot for a while, we were approached by Marcus K. He was very nice and helpful. Told him what I was looking for and we found a 2016 Honda Accord EX-L V6. Year wasn't what I was expecting but it did have what I was looking for. Test drove it like it was nobodies business lol and walked out of there 4-5 hours later with that same vehicle. Marcus definitely gave me one great hell of a deal and that's what he promised. A hell of a deal. We also worked with Walter and Andrew in the finance office who was wonderful. Received a great interest rate doing financing through Honda and he did what he could for me as far as monthly payments go. He knew my budget and worked with it. It went a little over due to additional insurance and ext. Warranty, but that's expected when protecting a brand NEW car when I came in looking for a USED vehicle. I know everyone's experience will differ, but please if you have to choose a salesperson and finance manager, choose these people. Also, thank you very very much to Marcus' manager for assisting us the way he did. I planned on buying a vehicle that day if the deal was right and it was fantastic! Thanks again guys! Will definitely recommend our salesperson and financial managers. We also got tire air caps! Lol (Had 2 missing)

I went there early morning. They said TWO hours or LESS. I waited two hours and ask them. Their respond was "15 minutes later, the car is ready". I waited another 30 minutes, and almost three hours later, I could not hold my self to talk with the Service manager. Service manager tried to apologize but I haven not feel that he was agree with me about the my complain. I was expecting more friendly person to fix this issue instead of supporting his service guys. When I was waiting at the service, other people was coming and leaving. I felt like other customers getting the service fast but not myself. Also also Service manager tried to teach me " here is the America...blah blah blah"They are NOT professionals as I expected...!

We took our Element in for the airbag recall. When we went to pick it up the windshield was cracked. Service was closed but the lady we paid... We also got new brakes and oil change... Said the windshield cracked during recall repair. I called to tell them I wanted to bring it back for windshield repair and service said it was the stupidest thing he'd e er heard and said they would not fix it. He said He'd let me talk to the manager and put me on hold for 42 minutes and 28 seconds. Then as expected they hung up. I tried calling back on their main number and all I got was a recording saying to call back later. They had blocked me. We will never go there again. Horrible way to treat us. Wish we had never gone there. Thinking of getting a lawyer.

I purchased a SUV from Pohanka about 2 years using Cars.com so when the need for a used car arose again Cars.com was the first site I checked. Sure enough I was directed to Pohanka again. I was looking for a Toyota Tacoma & Pohanka had one in my price range. I used the email service provoed through Car.com to contact Pohanka...a week later still no response. It would appear that they are too busy for me. I had a good buying experience the first time, they blew it it this time. I'll continue to use Cars.com just not Pohanka.

My experience at pohanka was absolutely wonderful , they had so many varieties of cars from dodge ,volkswagon oh and don't even get me started on Hondas, there were so many! and the customer service was great. it was fast and very friendly. i met a nice representative who worked there named Evelyn and she let me test drive so many cars and gave me her personal preference on what she liked which had an impact on the car i picked. overall experience here was great and i would definitely recommend people to come here and shop for there future car :)

From day one, Walter already had me sold on going to visit Capitol Heights Pohanka Honda. I had called in looking to upgrade from a sedan to a larger or mid-suv vehicle. I called the day before to check on a vehicle I saw online - he let me know that it was still in stock and schedule a time for me to test drive. That following day, the car was already in the front and ready for a test drive. After some negotiation, I ended up getting an even better vehicle, better price, and he made the process the FASTEST in and out sign and drive experience of my life - Walter not only met my expectations, but he put me first. He was thorough with the process, understood my financial and even personal situations, and worked directly with me. His attention to detail and proactive organization should be praised and applauded. If I was his manager, I would of promoted him on the spot for his professional, positive persistence, and respect. Days later I texted him to ensure my vehicle that I traded in was taken care - talk about world class customer service! He kept me updated and let me know when my new tags would be in. My husband and I were traveling in our new (first time Honda owners) Honda CRV in 8 lanes of traffic around on the DC beltway on Monday, July 18th 2016, when our "tire indicator" came on. I was terrified of having a flat tire in that particular area. We pulled off an exit to check our tire pressures and they all seemed good but I continued to be afraid to drive. I got back on the highway only to notice a giant Honda dealership --what a blessing! Mario Diaz greeted us so nicely and took my key and indicated "I've got this--don't worry!" The tires were checked and Mario explained why the indicator came on and how we could care for our tires if the problem occurred again. He educated us and reassured us and got us back on the road in about an hour. We appreciated our quick turn around and Mario's kindness so very much. Ms. Rhonda Thacker assisted me in purchasing my new vehicle. I purchased a 2016 Honda Civic EX w/sensing, but wanted a sunroof and a certain color, which was modest grey with black interior. This is one of the popular colors for Honda cars. They did not have this color so she had the dealership look for one in the area, low and behold one was available last week and I went and picked it up last Thursday. She was out of town last Thursday but she ensured that I received my car by calling me and letting me know that it was on the lot ready to go. I love my car! Ms. Thacker also ensured that for my credit and price range that I was looking for that I would get the car that would be comfortable for me in both affordability and comfort. Ms. Thacker spent the whole day with me to ensure that I would get the best deal possible and I did and then some. She was very knowledgeable and informative on the Honda vehicles and offered the best advice. I asked every question I could think of about this car and in general, because it has been seven years since I purchased my last car. Ms. Thacker was so patient, kind, respectful, professional and knowledgeable. My 2016 Honda Civic Ex is just cute and perfect! She was never pushy or aggressive. She always had my best interest at heart and just as concerned; as I was that, I purchased a great vehicle within my budget. She listened to my needs and guided me towards my decision. She showed me options and discussed the finer points of each vehicle. I know I made an excellent choice with my purchase and it fits me very well. I am truly blessed for the assistance that Rhonda provided to me. Rhonda was the absolute best sales person I have ever dealt with! She took her time in making the sale of my new 2016 Honda Pilot. My husband and I had been looking for cars all day and at the last minute decided to stop at this dealership on the way home. I loved her demeanor from the moment she introduced herself. I was straight forward in expressing what I wanted and she made every effort to get just that. Buying a vehicle is a stressful endeavor but Ms. Rhonda takes the stress away by being personable. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy a vehicle, she was great!

I agree with other reviews. Please choose another dealer because Honda is good just not this company. HORRIBLE!!! The DriverPlus that they sell you and TELL you it is good even if you move is a LIE. NEVER again would I buy from this company even if it was the only one near me.

I know a sells person is doing; what they can to seal the deal, but I could tell that Fon Kosai was being more than just a slaes consultant, she was adding the human, compassionate element to the buying a car process, which can be daunting. I recently visited the capitol heights location and saw Fon and she was still personable. The crew at Pohaka Honda of Capitol Heights seemed to be professional, pleasant and determined to get you in and out. I went to Pohanka Honda looking for a used car I saw online, on what I thought was their lot, it wasn't. Their online car listings are very tricky and have listings for other Pohanka dealers linked to other locations. Call before you go. We needed to trade our Audi in for a Van. Our Sales associate Tony (Anthony) Harris Was EXCELLENT. If anyone there can get a deal to work it's him teamed up with a good financial manager. Great customer advocate. We were in a very tight spot, and heavily upside down on our existing car loan. He did a great job finally getting me exactly what I wanted for a great price!.. The few things I will complain about are minor, and no reason to not purchase a car here. The finance department who does all the paper work is short handed. One (very sweet women) is the only one there on Sunday ( not sure about saturday) and it takes a little long to get in and out b/c she is backed up. They need another person there. Weekends are too busy to have one person working on that alone. Especially when people have small kids with them like I did.The Online listings is confusing and misleading. But! they have and extensive selection of vehicles, great customer service, and I didn't feel like I was being taken.

A tree fell on my car and I desperately needed I replacement. I had only $500 to put down and went there looking to get into a 2007 Hyundai Elantra that was advertised online. I knew I would probably have to wait until I had more money for the down payment, but Aubrey Farrare, the Senior Sales Manage told me to come see him and assured me that I would drive out with a car for my $500 down that day. I went and was greeted by a couple of sales reps in the parking lot that led me to Mr. Farrare ...and even cracked a funny little joke about him...putting me instantly at ease. I met Mr. Farrare who was happy to see me and introduced me to Ms Veronica Johns. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and could tell I was anxious so her kindness and patience calmed me and I was able to get through the process with her guidance. Well in the end I drove out of Pohanka Honda with a BRAND SPANKIN' NEW Hpnda Fit. Not in my wildest imagination would I have thought that would happen ....and with a monthly payment that was exactly what I paid for the 2013 Civic that the tree destroyed. The whole process was less than 2 hours ...WOW. I highly recommend Pohanka Honda!!! Be sure and ask for Aubrey Farrare & Veronica Johns!!

We took an appointment and we were very happy to see her follow up and find out if we were reaching the dealership without getting lost on the way since we were traveling from a far distance. The reason for this travel was their dealership offered the vehicle for a very reasonable price. There were no hidden costs, the offer was exactly as we expected. There was a good inventory of vehicles to chose from and they also offered to transfer a vehicle for us from the other location since we were looking for one of the rare colors. Went in to trade my FJ for a Honda Civic Touring Edition. The staff were eager to find the vehicle I wanted and negotiate a fair deal. Also, as car buying can be a lengthy process in arranging financing and other paperwork, they filled the time with complimentary snacks, a tour of the facility, and introductions with key staff. I ultimately left with what I wanted, and a sense that the staff there care. Can't really ask for more than that.

They sold this 2016 Accord that had a small dent on the back(i didn't notice when i picked up the car, coz it was raining and night), when asked about the same, manager and sales person without even thinking for a second told me, I did the dent, i just drove straight to my home, and called them next morning abt the same, strange thing was that they took the carpets out of the car, who does stupid things like that... I really wanted to buy from this dealer since it was close to home but the service was rude and unprofessional. I started working with one person and then given to another who could not answer any questions or took 20 minutes or more to find the answer to a simple question. The manager insisted that Honda would not finance me under any circumstances, they offered a high interest rate and really no deals. They picked me up at home and then would not offer to drop me off after I decided to not buy. I was without a coat and it was cold outside. I went to another dealer the same day and got finance via Honda and with great interest rate and this dealer offered to pay for my taxi to shop at their dealer. I really hope Pohanka starts investing in customer service training.

Initially, Wayne(the sales guy) was super responsive. He called me, sent me reminder texts etc. I felt good that I was going to this place. The only reason I chose this place was because there were some good reviews and it made me think may be these guys are genuine. But I was wrong which the reason why I am writing this review.Wayne was not very nice. He is not genuine. He spoke all shallow crap which had no importance to me at all. I know about honda cars. Just a word of suggestion, be very attentive if you are dealing with him. The KBB price of the car that I looked online and the price on the printout he brought were different. He started showing some other things on internet and tried to make me feel that the actual price of the car was very high and that I am paying a very low price. But, I knew the facts. I knew exactly how much the car is worth. So, if you are going there, do your research. Otherwise, he is going to rip you off.After showing the car, when the time to make the deal has arrived, from then on he became a different person. He made up all random costs and showed me the final cost. Then he brought a person who was introduced to me as his boss and this guy is very rude. He doesn't even care to say hello. He makes fun of the car that I was going to trade in. I was trying to make a deal, and he replies "may be you should look at a cheaper car". Is this the response you expect these people? The price of the trade in was unbelievably low.After the deal was over, Wayne didn't care about me anymore. I had to sit there for 2 hours waiting to write the check. He just left the place. I got frustrated and called him. He said he is getting my car ready, but he appeared with his kid after two hours. How unprofessional of him to take care of personal business while making a customer wait for hours and when I call, he just bluntly lied. I had to wait for two hours and find the finance department myself to pay the bill.Then there were a couple of repairs which they promised. And that wasnt a smooth process either. And Wayne told me he will help me setup the appointments for the repairs but after the deal was over, he never cared nor helped nor responded. I send him a text, no response. THEN THE NEXT DAY, SOME LADY CALLED ASKING FOR A REVIEW ON THE PURCHASE. THE ONLY REASON(WAYNE I HOPE YOU ARE READING THIS) WHY I DIDN'T GIVE BAD RATING, WAS BECAUSE I READ IN SOME REVIEWS THAT IT WILL AFFECT YOUR BONUS/INCREMENTS. OTHERWISE, I WOULD GIVE YOU A 2/5 RATING FOR THE WAY YOU AND YOUR BOSS TREATED ME.Small suggestion to everyone going to this place:Talk to them well in advance about the other fees that they are going to charge. RECONDITIONAL FEE of 1500$ was charged for a 1.5 yr old car(he says he can charge me upto 2500$). And the worst part is, all these made up fees wont even appear in the final bill order. It was all made up crap. So, better get the final purchase price decided over the phone before you meet them in person because THAT IS THE ONLY TIME THEY WILL BE NICE TO YOU.

I was pre-approved for a loan and went to Pohanka to look at a car I was interested in. First impression was most unprofessional as the associate couldn't find the car and the key fob was "...dead". I left but returned willing to give them another chance. Bad bad mistake. The car's windshield was cracked...which I was promised they would repair. The brakes were spongy. The tires thumped at medium speed. I was directed to another car which had an awful smell...was promised the detail guy would see to it. The purchase price was reasonable and guaranteed through my financial institution, they allowed me to keep the car overnight to "...drive it and get a feel for it". I returned the car the next day prepared to finalize the details based on my conversation with the associate and was told that she'd just learned of some details about the car that she was unaware of before...and proceeded to raise the price by $1500. I told her that was unacceptable as I was guaranteed the advertised price by my bank. She walked away and when she returned, the additional $1500 had been blacked out. At that point they lost my business...but she kept talking. I told her that I wasn't interested in purchasing the car and she brought the manager over to speak with me. After unsuccessfully attempting to find out the maximum I'd been approved for he tells me the reason he needs to know is to make sure I know what I'm doing because, AND I QUOTE,: "Once you sign that paper, I'm holding you to your contract...and I expect to get my money." I told him, first and foremost, he will stop talking to me as though he is financing my car. I have been pre-approved by my bank and he would get paid IF I sign a contract, anything more is between me and my bank. I also told him that I was not buying the car. And left. I went to their competitor 10 minutes away, found my dream car...no horrible smells, cracked windshields, thumping tires, or spongy brakes. Hundreds of dollars less (including the stated tax amount). The salesperson was a dream to work with. And, above all, she was honest and intelligent. A trait sorely lacking in this establishment.

My first impression upon driving up to a corner of the world wholly owned by Pohanka was of an ocean of new cars spreading out before my eyes. It was easy to find my top choice of vehicle. My sales consultant, Danny Pena, worked with me extensively to put together the perfect package of car choice, price and financing. He was gracious and hospitable throughout and patientI was kind of a difficult customer The sales and financial managers provided full support and we settled on a great deal. Danny is an expert in the Pohanka product line and procedures, and a car expert as well. The car has a lot of features and he took the time to explain them all. He popped the vehicle through the car wash and sent me off the lot happy.

I recently purchased a fine new Sonata from Pohanka in Capitol Heights and want other prospective buyers to know what a good experience I had. My first impression upon driving up to a corner of the world wholly owned by Pohanka was of an ocean of new cars spreading out before my eyes. It was easy to find my top choice of vehicle. My sales consultant, Danny Pena, worked with me extensively to put together the perfect package of car choice, price and financing. He was gracious and hospitable throughout and patientI was kind of a difficult customer The sales and financial managers provided full support and we settled on a great deal. Danny is an expert in the Pohanka product line and procedures, and a car expert as well. The car has a lot of features and he took the time to explain them all. He popped the vehicle through the car wash and sent me off the lot happy.

I contacted Ronda via the Exit 13 (Capitol Heights, MD) Pohanka Honda website to discuss purchasing a used vehicle, financing, and set up an appointment for the next morning. Ronda helpfully walked me through the process on the phone. The next morning she spent a good deal of time personally (and patiently!) walking me through a number of used vehicles on the lot that would best suit me. Having worked in retail myself, I can recognize good customer service when I see it. Ronda is the sort of no-pressure, straight-talking salesperson we all hope to have when car shopping! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a car!

So my car being recently totaled I was on the hunt for a new vehicle. My last car was purchased cash so this would be my first time financing a car. I seen a car I was interested in on cars.com and called the dealership to see if it was still available. I talked to Ms. Rhonda Thacker. She told me that the car was there and everything and we set up a date for me to check out the car that week. I unfortunately wasn't able to make it that day but I got in contact with her to reschedule for the next day. When I got there she was very friendly and sophisticated. Everything of hers was organized and she had it all prepared for me coming in. I wasn't aware that other people where checking out the car so she was even able to hold it for me. Went on the test drive and the car was amazing! When we came back inside we started the paper work process. Everything went by so smoothly and efficiently. She was nice and courteous the whole time. She knew a lot about the vehicle and even printed out extra paperwork on the car so I knew every detail about it. We were able to get my financing price close to what I wanted to pay per month. Over all it was a great process! And the best part about it it didn't feel like she was trying to push a car on me or get a sale. From first contacting her she genuinely cared about getting me the best car I could get. My mother was so impressed she plans on seeing her when she gets herself a new car.

I was greeted at the door by Mr. Mitchell in a friendly manner. We were looking for someone who no longer worked there. We were assigned Mr. Mitchell as our salesman, since he was the salesman who first greeted us.. I feel that he went above and beyond to get me the car and deal that I would make me comfortable. I bought my first car from Tiffany Hooper in Dec, 2013. I was unable to get to the dealership so Tiffany called to talk me through details and then picked me up from my house. She was friendly, courteous, and took all my needs into consideration while helping select a vehicle. This dealership really surprised me. I am a first time car buyer and I was really satisfied with the experience. The sales person that helped me out was really nice, upbeat, and really helpful! He worked with me and answered all my questions. Do not be afraid to ask questions and ask for a better deal. I asked for a better deal and he was able to get it for me. They were really nice people and offer great customer service. I would recommend going with someone that has gone through the process of purchasing a car because they would know if the offer they are offering is a good deal and if you can get a better one. The one thing that I didn't like was that they do try to push on extras like the under coat for the car and will insist. I did not want to just because i was thinking about how much the monthly payments would be. I understand they are trying to sale and thats their job but after I would say no they kept at it. Remember that you are paying for it not them! Overall I really liked this dealership!

We got internet quotes from several Metro DC Honda Dealerships after receiving a quote from Consumer Reports on a Honda Pilot 2013. We followed the quotes up with phone calls to inquire as to the "bottom line/walk out the door" price. We scheduled an appointment with a dealership that was offering the best deal over the phone. Then our neighbor shared with us a great deal that he received from Pohanka Honda in Capitol Heights and suggested that we give them a call. We did. The sales manager, Sean W., assured me that he could beat the deal that I had received and told me to come to the dealership. After canceling my scheduled appointment, we drove from Leesburg to Capitol Heights. Buyers beware - the manager does not mean what he says and does not say what he means. There were so many clues from the beginning telling us to get up and walk away that we ignored the clues for FOUR hours! There were corn chips that I picked up off the back seat of the "new" Pilot and threw out and my daughter mentioned that the car smelled like a cheeseburger, not a new car. I didn't think anything of it and simply thought that perhaps a family with young children had explored the car, not a big deal. Then, the manager presented us with a sheet with ridiculous prices that we had to initial - I guess to make us think we were getting a good deal after initialing something that was 10k higher than what was shared on the phone. Negotiations went on for four hours and we were finally at a point where we were ready to sign for the deal when the full disclosure report showed that the Pilot had 5,000 miles on it. That was it for us - we had been negotiating the whole time under the assumption that we were buying a new car, not a DEMO! The price would have been good on a NEW PILOT. The manager blamed this failure to disclose on a brand new sales consultant. The new sales consultant is getting some excellent training on how to snow customers - I feel bad for the kid. Also, this dealership refused to throw in any accessories or service packages (not that we are interested in service packages since we live so far from Capitol Heights). We have purchased two other Hondas in the Metro DC area over the last decade (one in Virginia and one in Maryland) and we do know that dealers can and do provide much better deals that what we were offered today that include accessories and service packages. We are also thankful that our 15 year old was with us and got to observe the negotiations. We explained to her on the way home the importance of doing your homework prior to visiting and just like there are poor sales consultants, there are good ones as well that do try to get the best deal for the consumer instead of their own pockets.

I shopped for a Honda CR-V, on-line and in person, for 30-60 days, and developed a clear sense of what I was seeking in terms of options/features and price. When I finally sent out my request for final pricing and defined very specifically what I wanted, there was only one salesperson and one dealer, who fully understood my request and responded professionally and thoughtfully. That was Meagan Bailey of Honda Pohanka. Meagan communicated directly without trying to sell me something I didn't want, and she answered my questions thoughtfully and, if she didn't know an answer, she got it quickly and responded accordingly. When I set an appointment to meet her at the dealership, she was there on time without any other appointments, and moved the closing process along expeditiously. She and the Pohanka team did a fine job, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to purchase another vehicle through them in the future. On August 25th, 2013, I met Sales Rep (Ms. Neya Patterson) at Pohanka Honda (Capital Heights/Exit 13) best experience ever, I was not pressured to purchase a vehicle, she listen to my concerns, what was my set budget and my "must haves" in a vehicle. I am now the owner of a 2013 pre-owned "certified" Honda CRV - EXL 2013 with only 9,291 miles. After discussing with Neya the type of vehicle I was looking for she searched diligently until she found exactly (key word...exactly) the vehicle I desired with all the bells and whistles. I have delayed visiting car dealerships due to the price haggling that generally occurs, my experience with Neya Patterson and her mannerism has changed that. Neya Patterson is awesome, she listened attentively, did not try to sell me something I did not want or out of my price range, she definitely aims to please. Our experience was surreal....it rocked!!!!Went to another area Honda dealership. Couldn't make the deal we wanted because they didn't have the 2014 Odyssey in the color combo we wanted. Walked into Pohanka and named the price we wanted to pay and told them we were willing to walk out the door with the van that afternoon if they could make it happen. We dealt with Tiffany, a sales consultant, and Malcolm the manager. These two folks are seriously great at what they do. I watched Malcolm walk around shaking hands with customers, saw him defuse what could have been a dissatisfied customer (but ended up being a satisfied one), and saw him go out of his way to congratulate someone else on their new car. He was "out and about" more than any other manager I have seen at area Honda dealerships. (We bought a Honda last year from Bowie and have also visited a few other area dealerships previously). So A+ to Malcolm, even if we couldn't work out the deal.....which we could! We were psyched, and Tiffany, who was new (which you definitely could NOT tell) did a great job as a sales consultant. She asked us if we wanted any more info on the vehicle and how all of the bells & whistles worked (we didn't), she walked us through the entire process, apologized profusely for the amount of time it took (which we thought was very reasonable, in and out of the dealership with the new vehicle in under three hours). She was friendly and professional, and we also liked that she spoke very highly of the dealership and the management. Actually, looking around, all of the sales staff seemed to be busy working with customers, and the whole place had a good vibe. Back to the Odyssey purchase....after the price was negotiated, I realized that they had a military offer going on and was able to get the van for $500 less than the original out the door price we asked for. That was just incredible. We would definitely go to Pohanka again to purchase a vehicle, and would definitely recommend this dealership. Luna and Patrick (Financing) were also really pleasant and knowledgeable. Go give Pohanka a look if you are in the market for a new Honda. Ask for Tiffany Hooper. She was really excellent and has already followed up with us on our purchase. We got great service and a GREAT price and we're lovin' our new (sigh) minivan!!!!

I am unable to provide this Pohanka Honda located at 1772 Ritchie Station Court at Beltway 13, Capitol Heights, MD 20743 with a good customer service rating. I am giving this organization a zero for performance. The employees lack professionalism in providing good customer service. Most important the team located at this facility does not exhibit good integrity with their sales approach. Based on this experience, I would never purchase any future vehicles from this organization. I recommend that customers be aware of their strange sales approach (i.e. obsessive telephones, failure to provide in a timely manner estimate on your vehicle of trade before discussing with finance options, unable to provide the consumer a copy or review of their credit report, over talking the customer (rude), obsessive long waiting although showroom is not busy, etc. I have watched the Sales Associates and Sales Managers talk about personal items, while the customer is waiting patiently to conduct the business transitions. Before you sign any papers with this dealership, secure your auto loan yourself through your vendor of choice to avoid them trying to trick you into a high interest rate. The experience with Pohanka Honda so was frustrating and appalling. Most importantly seek other dealerships in the Washington Metropolitan Area in regard to obtaining quotes, finance options, vehicle accessories, etc.

My family and I have been looking for a very specific used car for the past few months. The advanced search features of www.cars.com have been very helpful in the car buying search, given that we are so specific in what we are wanting. We found a car that we wanted to look at in the Pohanka Honda of Capitol Heights inventory. We called Pohanka Honda Wednesday, and the salesperson described a car that we wanted to look at. We exchanged information. I went home and spoke to my wife about the car. ----- A Pohanka Honda sales clerk called Thursday, the next day, with the courtesy call to check if we wanted to look at the car; we replied that, in fact, we did. We might want to go up over the weekend to see the car. I called Friday, the next day, to schedule an appointment for Saturday. I told the sales agent that we would be driving 100 miles to look at the car, and I wanted confirmation of the availability. We scheduled an appointment for Saturday afternoon. We asked specifically that she call us if something happened, and she assured us that she would have the car available. ----- We called again Saturday morning to confirm the appointment. My family and I drove over two hours to the dealership. This is a big dealership, too big to seem to know what someone else was doing. We met the new sales associate. We asked to see the car. The dealership spent some time asking us about financing, which was not an issue. We were put off that they spent time trying to ask about our financing, when we had driven to see the car. We cut off the financing discussions because we really wanted to see the car. They left to check and find the keys, even though we had called and said we were coming up. We sat at the sales desk for about ten minutes. ----- We thought we had waited a while. I went to the front and asked that we can see the car, while they look for the keys. They stalled about trying to find the car on their lot. After a few more minutes of stalling about trying to find the car., the dealership admitted that they did not have the car that we had driven hours to see. Another sales associate had taken the car out. It was not available, at least for a long while. We left. ----- Our salesperson did not put a proper hold on the car; she did not check to see if the car were still available; she did not let us know that the car was not available after we had started driving to see it; or some associate took the car without permission. Overall, it was a waste of a weekend day and more than four hours on the road.

The first was a Honda Odyssey and I have no complaints.The second was the Honda Accord that I purchased after researching the safety features. My experience was horrible. I can not get my car registered... after paying taxes and fees I am left with a temp tag that expires in 3 days and cant reach anyone on the phone.I paid for a rear decklid spoiler and when told that I can bring the car in anytime to get it installed. They did not have it in stock...even though it was already paid for. I spent three and a half hours on Saturday with my 3 year old in the Pohanka dealership to not get my install done and not be able to reconcile my registration issue.I am very unsatisfied. the only light of hope is the salesperson who has been gracious even as her colleagues fail me.

I was in the market for a new vehicle, and after a disappointing visit to a Ford dealership and a Honda dealership, I decided to visit this new dealership. I went to their website and verified that they had 4 vehicles that I was interested in with the trim level I was looking for. I showed up and no one greeted me initially. Another salesperson asked if I needed help and directed me to Meagan. I told her what I was looking for, and she consulted her system. She then looked high and low for the vehicle and found it on their lot. She demonstrated all of the features and then accompanied me on a test drive. When we got back, she asked if I was interested in the car. She then made an excellent offer on the vehicle and my trade in, and I agreed. This new dealership sprang up on the side of the Capitol Beltway. After a terrible experience at Honda of Bowie, I still wanted to see the new Honda lineup. So, I checked that they were indeed open, and what kind of stock they had. I went after an expected test drive at a Ford dealer fell through and I ened up having time on my hands. When we walked in, no one initially greeted us. But another sales person directed us to Meagan who greeted us and asked what were looking for. I told her the vehicle I was after and she looked high and low for it, eventually finding it. She showed us all of the features, let me take a test drive, and impressed me with her knowledge of the vehicle and the brand. She then worked hard to get me the best price without a lot of haggling and threatening to walk out. The entire team at Pohanka handled the new car sales smoothly.

When i got to the Fianance office Daniele there was also friendly. but i was disappointed in her lack of knowledge in the maentenance offers. she seemed more concerned about selling her own personal credit rebuilding plan. By this time I was angry and declined all offers. I only wanted to buy a car adn packages for my car. If she was not so busy offering her side business credit rebuilding offers, i would have happpily added the packages for my car as I have always done inthe past. i dont need creditbuildng anything! He was willing to talk price out the door where many other dealers were not willing to do that. Another dealer even promised to match any price until they saw the one Aubrey was able to give, then they said they couldn't do it. When we came in to buy, Aubrey was efficient and did not waste out time. He even included wheel locks and pin striping. I had a GREAT experience with Aubrey Farrare at Pohanka Honda. He immediately offered me a very low price for the Pilot I was looking for. He answered all my questions, and was a very straight forward salesman from the beginning. The price he gave me had other salesmen saying his price was very "aggressive" and then trying to jump through hoops to earn my business. I got a lot of "I'll check with my manager" from other dealers, followed by either no response or an attempt to change the subject ("But we're giving you free pinstripes!"--when my question was "Can you beat this price?"). Aubrey was head and shoulders above the rest, both on the phone and in person. There was no BS, no double talk, no bait and switch. Just an honest guy, good at what he does, knowledgeable about his inventory, who wanted to earn my business. And he did. When another dealer offered me $100 less then Aubrey's price, I still went to Aubrey because I could tell my experience would be much more streamlined with him. Aubrey definitely delivered a smooth sale, and he matched the other dealer's number just for good measure. I would HIGHLY recommend Aubrey and Pohanka Honda, the entire team there made it incredibly easy, low stress and fast for us to settle on a price, get our vehicle and move on. Thank you Aubrey! My first experience buying a Honda was in August 2007 at the Marlow Heights Pohanka Honda. I must say at first I was a little skpetical to purcahse a new car but when I walked in the door Karlton Barclift turned my skeptisim into smiles. Mr. Barclift was very knowledgable, friendly, respectful and patient while handling my transaction. I was able to not only recive a fair trade for my 1997 Mazda but I also recieved a great deal on my 2007 Honda Accord. To this day Mr. Barclift has still been a great help, anytime I have an issue with my car, I can contact Mr. Barclift and he still assists me to this day with my Honda. We were recently in the market for a new Honda through AAA's New Car Buying Program, and one of the referred dealers was Pohanka Honda. I received a flood of emails and phone calls asking if I was interested, and I sent an email response indicating that I would like a comprehensive estimate including tax, tags, and titles in my state. About 24 hours later, the response I received was an inquiry of whether I was still interested. I thanked the dealer for her time but indicated that since I didn't receive a response I had considered other dealers. She responded with a fairly crass email indicating she never received a response and did nothing to try to salvage the deal.I found this conduct to be unprofessional and rude. Also, the poor grammar and spelling errors in the email correspondence leads me to believe this is not a dealer that appreciates quality.

We purchased a new 2011 Pilot from Pohanka/Marlow Hts, MD, in September 2011, and were very pleased with the experience. We obtained internet quotes from several MD and northern VA dealers, and visited several dealers. While Pohanka was the farthest from our home, the sales team was very professional. Their offer was very competitive and transparent with no hidden catches - they sent us a line-item offer that included all costs including taxes and required fees. Other dealers did NOT do this, and when questioned the costs started to increase and these other dealers tried to mandate acceptance of unwanted dealer add-ons. Not so with Pohanka. Discussions with Ryan Pool-Sales Manager, Aubrey Farrare-Internet Sales Manager, and Karlton Barclift-Internet Consultant were clear, professional, and friendly. There were no pressure tactics, they were very courteous and service oriented. It was clear that they were very conscientious to making sure that we were getting exactly what we wanted (of course, at a very fair price). When we came to pick-up the vehicle, it was exactly as discussed including the additional features we asked to be installed earlier in the morning. All staff at the dealership were friendly (including service personnel). I am not one that usually comments on these sites, but I feel strongly in this case as car buying can be a particularly harrowing experience. Misters Pool, Farrare, and Barclift were excellent to work with - they were open and honest, no hidden motives, and willing to negotiate on what they could (we were armed with alot of good info on dealer costs, and could readily confirm). If you are interested in a Honda and live in metro DC area, then I recommend that you definitely consider the Pohanka team in helping you find what you need. T

Awful dealership. They quoted me a price on a vehicle and when I went into purchase vehicle, they said they made a mistake with the price and tacked on another $1,800 to the price. I also waited an hour to see the vehicle, which did not start, and no one bothered to apologize. I received a recall notice and call to schedule an appointment. Upon arriving at 7:00 AM, I informed Dean that I would leave the car all day since I was working. He told me that it should take no more than 4 hours. Again I stated that I would return about 4:30 PM. Around 3:00 PM (8 hours after dropping the car off), I received a call from Dean telling me that my car would not be ready today and I could pick it up tomorrow. I told him that I dont have a second vehicle and I would need another mode of transportation. He stated 'Honda does not provide loaner vehicles'. I stated that due to their error, they need to provide me another mode of transporation and I was not taking no for an answer. I also reminded him that he called me with less than 2 hours before I was to pick up the vehicle. Again he kept repeating the phrase "Honda does not provide loaner vehicles and there was nothing he could do to accomodate me". I asked if there was a checklist regarding recalls and the parts needed and if so, had the technician done that before he disassembled my car. He never answered but again stated "my car is not driveable and it would be ready tomorrow when the parts arrived:. After a few choice words on my part, I told him he had two options when I arrive at 4:30 PM: (1) Have my car or (2) Have a loaner. I requested to speak to his manager but he informed me that his manager had gone for the day. I then requested to speak to any manager on duty and he told me no one was available. In my mind I am wondering how does a business operate if there are no managers on duty. I said you need to put me on hold until you find someone that can provide me with a better answer. After 5 minutes on hold, he returned to tell me that they would provide me with a one-day rental. After all of these issues, I do not plan to take my car back to Pohanka Honda of Marlow Heights for any service. I was a loyal customer who took my Accord to their facility for all of my services even oil changes. I felt disrespected and no accomodations were made to rectify the situation until the very last minute.

I dealt with alot of different sales people during this process at other dealerships and when I contacted him, it was like night and day compared to the others. I had just had a terrible experience with another dealer in the area and when I called him, he was absolutely wonderful to deal with, gave me a great deal, the price I was quoted originally was the price I was given when I got there, there was no pressure to buy extra stuff, and I was out the door in about an hour with my new car! I've contacted him with a few questions since then and he's been so helpful and very quick in getting back to me. The best thing about Aubrey's customer service was his willingness to conduct transparent business online via e-mail. Whereas other dealers provided misleading information or no information at all, Aubrey sent an itemized quote including all fees and taxes immediately. Most dealers just called and attempted to arrange a meeting to avoid doing business online, but Aubrey honored my stated desire to do business via e-mail. Furthermore, Aubrey continued to provide friendly service in person when I chose to visit the dealership. He allowed for a lengthy test drive including highway testing and he accepted negotiation on the basis of a truecar.com report. In fact, Aubrey quickly agreed to ask his manager to lower the price to match a truecar.com "great deal", which is what I paid. I was ready to take advantage of a lease offer from Honda's website. I spoke with a certain salesman at least five times over the phone. Every time I spoke with him, it sounded like he was in a Subway station and I couldn't hear anything he said. On top of that, he was mumbling as if he were talking in his sleep! It really made it seem like the sale, and my satisfaction, wasn't that important. He could never really quote me specifics over the phone, and then refused to send me specifics over email because he would end up "going through the motions" and then I would take the offer and someone else would price match it at another dealership. Well, not sending me a lease price quote did end up causing me to go to another dealership where I got a much better deal than he would've been able to give me. At least he didn't have to go through the motions.To his credit, I never actually went to the dealership. But for someone who is supposedly an internet salesman, you would think they are used to working out specifics over the internet and not in person!

Since 1997 we have owned 3 Hondas: a 1995 Accord, 2001 Odyssey and a 2009 Civic. We think Honda makes a great product. However until we bought our Civic from Pohanka Marlow Heights (Bill McGhee)and started using their service department we were extremely disappointed in the service we had received from other Honda Dealerships. With other dealerships the repair was rarely done correctly the first time, the car was rarely ready when promised and the cost was much higher than local private mechanics. His attention to detail and professional temperament is a testament to his character and appreciation for his customers and job.I would be remiss if I did not take the time to also mention another "value - added resource that Pohanka employs, Mr Ralph Dykes. We believe among the many talents and an ability Mr. Dykes brings to the workplace is his meek...but commanding demeanor. Great Service and a great deal on a 2011 Honda CR-V EX-L 4 wheel drive. I sent out an email to approx 20 DC metro Honda dealers with explicit instructions on what I wanted and NOT to call me, answer via email!!! Hello Bill Page Honda and Browns Arlington Honda, I said DO NOT call me, didn't really matter as their offer was not in the ball park. Aubrey did a very good job at responding to my emails, not lightning fast but none the less, at a very good rate. The dealership itself is decent sized, not large, but I was told within the next 18 months they are moving further north into MD. It was a very personable buying experience. We had been to another Honda dealership in Alexandria--Landmark Honda, but wow, no personal experience there, must have been 10 rows of desks, with 4 desks in each row, side by side! No privacy there, but again, your buying a car and just want a great price. I must say Jay Bhanot at Landmark was great to deal with through emails, always fast to respond, but in the end, its price what truly matters and what landmark was offering was fine, but turned out to be more than what we paid. Enough to retire on, no, but nothing to sneeze at! Landmark figured $30 was beating the competition (best offer at that time, what a difference 12 hours makes!!) which I guess it is, in this case Pohanka crushed the competition!!What I truly enjoyed about Aubrey and Pohanka was they followed my instructions and gave me what I asked for. Some dealerships would just tell me to bring in my best offer and they would match it, or possibly beat it! Sheehy Honda was one of those! Yes they originally gave me a quote (which was HIGH) but then would only match or beat what I brought to them! What is beating the price I asked??? They could not tell me. $1 is beating the price!! For me, it is the person that does the work that should get rewarded! And in this case it was Pohanka. They did what I-- the customer wanted!! Sheehy just kept saying--well OTHER customers like it that way! Well, guess what, I do not like it that way, I'm the one buying the car, I want to be happy and feel like a valued customer, I got the feeling that was NOT going to happen at Sheey.As with the majority of people the lowest price matters and that is what I got at Pohanka--at least thats how I feel, but does 1 truly ever know??? I actually told them I need this price--which was much lower than what others had quoted me--and told me that it was their lowest----and actually walking out on landmarks showroom after they told me what was their lowest,and Pohanka said, ok, plus we will subtract another $100! Sign me up!!Aubrey was actually out of the dealership when we got there picking up our CRV, so the sales manager made us feel at home. He felt very genuine! One felt at ease, one felt valued and not just a check book walking into the store!! We actually talked about other stuff than cars. All the staff that we met were friendly. If they walked by you, they said hello. We were very impressed. Dealership was a fair sized, not huge, nor small. The sales desks were not close together, so one did have some privacy (in 1 corner, they were somewhat close, but not as close as other dealerships!)We got a price we felt very comfortable with, and great personable service. We didn't get any of that pushy talk one gets from the finance people--extra warranty, paint protection, etc etc. Simply said no thanks, and that was it.I guess the only downside of the whole process was that it took about 1.5 hrs to get the car ready, but does one truly want to rush them? I was Ok with them taking their time, plus they ordered pizza! Just missing the beer for a truly good time. In conclusion, we had a great experience with Pohanka. Right from the beginning they listened to what we wanted and did exactly that, and gave us what we felt like was a great deal. I have bought 6 other new cars and this was by far the best transaction, yes I'm sure tomorrow morning I will have some buyers remorse,lol did I buy the right car, right color,lol but I know that I got treated well at Pohanka, so that helps a lot. They listened to what I the paying customer wanted, and they delivered; sounds so simple to do, yet many other dealers don't! I was browsing the craigslist section on Honda vehicles and came across an interesting posting by a gentleman named Aubrey Farrare who works for Pohanka Honda. I was moved by the special price and incentives for a new Honda Ridgeline. At first I thought the posting was a little too good to be true but then I engaged in communications with Aubrey through email. He made the process very simple and answered all my questions. I did all my negotiations through email and it was the easy purchase of a new vehicle I've ever been involved with. I had been shopping for a Honda Pilot for about two months and had been to many dealerships looking at the different models, amenities, and prices. Once we finalized what model we wanted it was a matter of finding the right price. From where we live(Rockville, MD)there are five Honda dealers within 20 minutes. Pohanka Honda is almost 55 minutes away(the complete opposite side of DC from us)and not very convenient for us to get to nor easy, however after it was all said and done; Aubrey made it well worth it. He was extremely professional, upfront with any and all fees, quick to get back to me and made the whole process fun. Yes, a car salesman that made the transaction fun! Not too many places or people you can say that about but from one salesman to another, he has a bright future in whatever he does. I highly suggest him to anyone in the DC metro area no matter how long the drive. It is worth the peace of mind knowing you're not dealing with the stereo-typical car salesman.

As someone who does not look forward to the ordeal of buying a new vehicle from a dealership, I was pleasently surprised with this purchase.Gregory Leake was one of the most friendly and upfront salesman that I've ever met and it was certainly a pleasure doing business with him.He explained everything about the vehicle we purchased, and readily answered every question that we asked. He ensured the process went quickly which resulted in very minimal "waiting time".Should I have to purchase any future vehicles, I will certainly try to do it though Gregory Leake.

I bought a Honda Fit from Aubrey Farrare of Pohanka Honda, and he was the friendliest, easiest representative I have ever worked with in purchasing a car. We exchanged all information over email and brief phone calls. He made it an easy, painless, professional experience. I would recommend this dealership and salesman to anyone. This is the third car I have bought from Pohanka. Each time has been a pleasant experience, which is not something you normally expect to say about buying a car. This time around, I felt that they dealt fairly with me from the outset, offering a reasonable price and interest rate from the beginning. When you feel like you are being treated fairly, things start off on a positive note.

I had a great experience at Pohanka. I'm a USAA member and used their auto buying service to get prices on a Honda Pilot. The best price was Pohanka in Fredericksburg (by far). I called them, but they wanted to charge extra fees (a $500 locator fee + $399 doc fee), so I could get the price quoted through USAA. This really turned me off. I thought this was crap (not to mention a bit of a bait and switch), so I emailed the price quote from USAA to Aubrey at Pohanka Honda at Marlow Heights. I found him via a craigslist posting. He got darn close to the price USAA quoted (especially when you add-in the other dealer's junk fees) and managed to get me a more than reasonable price for my trade-in. He worked hard to get the color we wanted, and stayed late one night so we could take delivery of the car in time for a trip. I'd recommend Aubrey and Pohanka (in Marlow Heights). I've referred friends and colleagues to him, and have NEVER done that after previous purchases at other dealerships.

Pohanka gave us the best online quote BY FAR of the 8 or so that we received, and it was a great price for the car that we wanted. Having read horror stories about various car dealerships, we were sure there must be a catch. But Greg Leake was really helpful by email and on the phone, breaking down the price for us and answering our questions, and we decided to go for it. Long story short, there was no catch. We met Greg at the dealership, checked out the car, decided between two colors, and signed the paperwork. Easy and painless, for a price that we're happy with, and we didn't have to spend all day haggling to get it.

I purchased a brand new Honda Odyssey a few days ago. It was an unusually painless experience for me. I received an offer online, followed up with a call, walked in, test drove the van, signed papers and drove my new van out. In addition, the dealership processed my C4C old van transaction. The whole thing took about 3 hours. I dealt with Aubrey Farrare and would highly recommend him to my friends as a very professional sales person.

NEVER go to this dealership! its the worst! I came in there on a saturday inquiring about a car I wanted and a car they said they had and can get. I test drive the car and they said they can get it in the color and make i want. They quoted me...a week later I came back witht he check in hand ready to get my car, sign and drive off.Nope... they didnt have it. They apparently "misquoted" me and did not honor anything they told me. I then went to Landmark Honda in Alexandria, VA that found the car i wanted and worked hard to get me a deal and get me what I want. I left the same day with my beautiful Accord EX-L coupe w/ NAVI and manual transmission. EVERYTHING i wanted and more.Greg Leake from POHANKA then emailed me... please tell me this is professional...LOL"Ellen, First, let me start by saying that I called you to let you know about the mix up, and you never return any of my calls, prior to you coming in, and as I recall when I got back from vacation, you had admitted to my manager that you got the messege, and you didn't return my calls.Second, I went above and beyond, and was VERY attentive to to your needs, and your wants, which in your case out wade your needs.Third, The dealership will not close because of one customer who failed to follow instructions.
