I was shocked to see lots dents in the roof of my "new to me" 2014 XV Crosstrek. I purchased my used Crosstrek at night and picked it up in a rain storm, which is why we never saw the dents in the roof. BUT, once Planet Subaru was made aware of the problem, we arranged a day to do the dent repairs. I must say, the car looks like a new car and you'd NEVER know there was ever any problems with the roof. They willingly stood behind their product. THANK YOU PLANET SUBARU!!

After doing some online research for the 2015 Subaru WRX I found one listed at planet Subaru . I drove 45 minutes to get there . I went inside and approached a dealer and stated that I would like to take a look at the vehicle and test drive it . He brought me over to his desk and starts talking about trade in value and financing . I thought this was a little odd as I hadn't even seen the car yet but he claimed this was how they do it at that dealership . In hindsight I feel like he was profiling me . The dealer tells me how much my trade is worth after looking on Kelly blue book. He then walks off for about 30 seconds and comes back claiming he looked up the auction price and this is the most he will give me and it's non negotiable . I knew he was lying because he was having difficulties nagivating his computer when he was in front of me ( seemed computer illiterate ) yet when he walked away he was some how able to access the system much faster. When I mention to him that we could start negotiating the price of the car I'm buying, he tells me they don't negotiate selling prices and that the listed price is the selling price . He also mentions that the car is a buy back and will be sold with a lemon title . I pretended to not know what that meant . He claims it was a minor issue with a check engine light coming on . In reality if a car is a lemon title it has serious mechanical defects . At this point I've been there for about 10 minutes . I tell the dealer if we can't negotiate the selling price then I'll have to look elsewhere . He then stands up and ends the interaction. Very rude and arrogant . As a disabled combat veteran (OIF) and a former law enforcement officer I expect a certain amount of professionalism from a car dealer . This is the type of dealer that gives the car dealing business a bad name . 'My intention is to contact corporate office as I believe this dealer broke certain operating procedures set by Subaru corporate offices and at worst profiled me .

I'd always gone to Planet Subaru for most of the service on my Outback, which had been purchased as as Certified Pre Owned vehicle from PS in '09. The last few times there I've had poor experiences and to this point, no one has done a thing other than apologize. The last straw was the rear brake job I went in for this past July. The techs there did the job but never hooked the emergency brake cable back. This is the 2nd time such a thing has happened there at PS. I had to trek back there from Quincy on a Friday afternoon in July (mired in an hour of Cape Cod weekend traffic) and was promised compensation from the Service Manager Matthew. Countless emails and almost 4 MONTHS LATER, I've received nothing but lip service. We love our Outback and planned on coming back next year to trade this one in on a newer model but will not be going back again based on the juvenile handling of my complaint. The Service Manager even acknowledged the issues from the past after researching this (which took weeks after my initial complain) but I've received NOTHING. If anyone in any Management role would bother to contact me, I'd be appreciative and frankly based on my experience with Matthew at this point, shocked if anyone bothered. ***UPDATE***I did finally speak with the Service manager, who agreed to compensate me for the most recent issue as well as for the past issues. As a long standing customer and fan of PS, I was relieved that they finally agreed to do what I thought to be the right thing.

They call it "No Haggle" undealership! Give me a dealership who wants badly to sell vehicles any day of the week instead! They set prices both new and used OVER other respectable dealers in the area and say they are priced fairly. Says them!!People do your homework online and in person and you will see a real difference in pricing.Save money and your time and go elsewhere.

I went to Planet Subaru because the Legacy I wanted was selling out in transit and this was the only dealership that had it. I filled out a request online and no one got back to me. So I filled out another one and talked to a woman named Deb who was nice. I made an appointment and Deb handed me off to a kid named Ryan. Thought it was odd, but whatever. Ryan was very nice and knowledgeable. They won't budge on price and undervalue your trade-in. I was ok with that because Subaru was offering a low incentive plan. So I drop a deposit and when I go to pick up my car, I have to deal with the haggling from finance. Even when I had a perfect credit score, the financial assistant gave me a loan from Rockland Credit at 1.99% (Not the 1.49% Subaru was offering). I should have run then. Also, their promotion for their "Passport Program" is going to cost you...........a lot. Their typical oil change runs you are $165 with a 30k tune up at $590. They won't tell you that in finance, though, in fact when I asked their financial person didn't know anything about the passport program. In short, if you want a new Subaru and this dealership is local to you, come with your own financial plan or apply via the Subaru site. If you want a specific car and it's only at that dealership - you could probably wait.

Earlier this year I bought a car from Planet Subaru and later required assistance with a repair, and Thanksgiving is an appropriate time to submit this review. Where to start? I've bought three Foresters from Planet/Hanover and the sales staff is superb. Most recently I dealt with Klaire Perkins who was knowledgeable, extremely helpful in facilitating a quick, ideal sale for me, just what I wanted. Shortly afterwards an adjustment required the car to come in for service. The timing couldn't have been worse, since I had to join family in Maine and transport small children. Mike Ryan pulled out all the stops to arrange for a rental on Labor day weekend when NOTHING was available. Thanks to Mike, what could have been a nightmare was a simple side trip off Rte. 3. This is a company that values competent, professional service-oriented staff and customers are the beneficiaries.

I have been buying and servicing my cars at Planet Subaru for over 15 years. I have recommended Planet to friends and family. Why? Earning customer trust and providing quality service is what I see as their mission statement. It is the reason why, despite moving 800 miles away, I schedule my visits to Boston to include family, friends and Planet Subaru. Brett, Matt, Nicky & Matt are awesome. There are other dealerships closer to where I live that I could go to for service. I tried them, which is why I keep going back to Planet.

The Planet Subaru dealership is more like having a cup of coffee with a friend who just happens to sell cars. From beginning to end, Scott was professional, knowledgable, and friendly. He did not pressure a sale, nor made me feel rushed into a decision. He honestly took the time to understand and get to know me and what I was looking for; which wasn't the easiest feat since I really didn't know much about Subarus!! I would highly recommend this dealership, and Scott Chandler, specifically. They truly make you feel comfortable and enjoy the car buying experience.

So I just had the absolute worst dealer experience ever. Went to planet subaru to look at a car. The first time I went they were seal coating the driveway and the car I wanted to see was "out back" in the service area and and I couldn't even go see it. When I tried to look at a different car the salesperson said,"We don't give test drives unless we think you are really going to buy it." Seriously? These are $30k subaru's, not $60K + sports cars. He didn't even think about trying to show me the car at all, just came out with that idiotic statement. Just unbelievable. I should have taken that as an omen. But I went back the next week and the salesperson truly was totally clueless and thought that was a good thing, absolutely refused to even pretend to try and negotiate, when we brought up prices in other parts of the country he actually laughed about buying a car and having it shipped. Seriously claimed that thier "internet prices" are so great people come from around the country. Ah no, your internet prices are literally the highest in the country, anyone with half a brain can check that on cars.com. I've read about arrogant Subaru salesperson, but holy crap this guy was treating subaru's like they were Ferrari's. I mean seriously, I traveled almost an hour to visit, treat me like I am a human, not someone who has zero clue. I bet this place will be in trouble within the year. This place makes the black plague look good. If you want to meet an amazingly clueless arrogant salesperson, go there. Seriously makes me want to never even think about Subaru, even though I've been a gigantic fan for 15+ years.Honestly what type of imbecile actually laughs at someone they are trying to sell something too?

I've been looking up reviews for Planet to see if my experience was atypical and the funny thing I've seen is how many reviews appear to be cut and paste jobs over a few websites. Of course they're all positive five star reviews so here's mine which is not. They claim not to negotiate and by gum they don't, except for some of the positive reviews that say they did (like the guy who drove 50 minutes he's everywhere.) Maybe they just don't negotiate with young people? With women? The president likes to reply with some flack about "dropping prices by THOUSANDSSSSS" (emphasis mine) to make the reviewer appear like they wanted to steal the food off the plates of Planet employees. This client didn't but I also have my own lights to keep on and I don't appreciate the smug condescension found in the Planet drinking water. Maybe I'm not a "team player" when it comes to my wallet but if a client is informed and wants to buy my product I'll sell it to them and make it up on the next one because as a business that's what they do. Car prices are negotiable period. But at Planet you need to be something I'm not (which is what exactly?) to play. With the THOUSANDSSSSS I wound up saving by going to another dealer I'm going to donate to an animal shelter and pay for my own vehicle upkeep because the passport program is a gimmick. Or maybe that's where the over paying comes into play? Don't believe the hype. Also since when do sales reps take 3 days to reply to emails? Planet made me really feel like they were doing me a favor to give them loads of money to wait for a car. Like most Subaru dealers in New England they know their cars will sell and have gotten lazy about making the experience pleasant for the client. My sales rep made me feel small, cheap and not welcome. Sorry I don't buy cars on the daily. I know you sell them frequently but can you act like you haven't been asked this question 800 times already? Because it's the first time I'm asking it. Smug: it what makes a dealership Planet.

Having been "in the market" for a used vehicle for a few months, we'd visited 3 other dealerships before going to Planet Subaru. The other dealerships left us feeling frustrated & pressured. We finally made our way to Planet Subaru and had a no-stress experience from the start. Greg Norton was professional yet relaxed and gave us all the time we needed. It's a busy dealership so when Greg had other customers to attend to he would hand us off to other staffers. This gave us the opportunity to meet a few others and everyone was kind, friendly and knowledgeable. James in finance was great to deal with as well, working to get us the best possible financing. I work within a mile of another Subaru dealership but it was totally worth it to drive an hour to Planet Subaru for the best deal with the best people. Nicely done, Planet!

These guys were very honest with me. I brought my 2003 Forester after being told by another dealer that my engine needed replacement. I realized right away that the other dealer was magnifying the problems and trying to scare me into buying a new (or used) car from them.Without telling them the assessment of the other dealer, I asked the Planet Subaru service center to check out the same concerns. Yes, they did charge me $100 just to look and diagnose these issues but, I found their assessment to be far more thorough and reasonable. During my most recent visit, I had a vibration issue I needed diagnosed as well as a leaking differential seal that I had repaired myself but, was convinced I had botched it. I told Matt right from the start that if the seal was in fact still leaking, to just replace it. Matt called back, four hours later, to tell me that the seal was not leaking and they had positively identified the issue causing the vibration problem. Again, this cost me $100. Matt seemed disappointed that I didn't give the go-ahead for them to complete an $850 brake job. My point is that like most, if not all, dealerships it was a pricey affair. However, a lot of dealerships would have told me the seal was leaking just to get the extra $200 out of me. On other occasions, where I was doing my own repairs, the parts department has helped me with small discounts on expensive parts. A few times a technician would even offer warnings or special instruction. When the situation calls for dealer service, I am happy to choose and recommend Planet Subaru

Many thanks to our sales representative, David Gardner, at Planet Suburu in Hanover for making the experience of buying our 2014 Outback a very relaxing and rewarding one. We had not purchased a new car for several years and were a little anxious about buying a new one. David eased our minds and explained all the features of the Outback. He then answered all our questions with knowledge and patience. The highlight was actually sitting in the Outback for the first time and taking a short spin. We are senior citizens who would highly recommend purchasing a car at Planet Suburu in Hanover.

I recently purchased a slightly used 2014 Forester from Planet, and it could not have been an easier process. Greg greeted me at the front desk when I walked in and he couldn't have been more helpful. After discussing what I was looking for, I was quickly in a car on a test drive. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and was able to answer all my questions. He presented me with many financing options, and found one I was comfortable with. He even gave me a fair price for my trade in. After negotiating a couple chocolate chip cookies as part of the deal, I was signing on the dotted line and driving off the lot in my new car even though it was a Sunday. Such a painless process, and highly recommended.

We LOVED our experience buying a car from Planet! Nic and Deb took great care of us and did not subject us to the usual garbage games that go on when trying to buy a car. We were actually ready to sign with another dealership when lo and behold, the price we had agreed on wasn't the price on the contract. The other dealership lost our purchase over 105 dollars. It wasn't that we couldn't afford it. It was the principle of it all. Save yourself a splitting headache and go to Planet. We got a great deal, everyone was above board and respectful and friendly. We will NEVER go anywhere else again. Who knew that purchasing a car did not have to be an awful experience?!

First, its important to say that I was not asked or paid to write this review and everything that happened, is true and can be verified. I say this because, from what I see, hear (and have personally experienced in the past), customer treatment like this is relatively rare at typical auto dealerships. I guess that is why Planet Subaru calls itself the undealership. They do business differently than most, and my husband Joe and I experienced this first-hand. We bought a new 2014 Forester at Planet Subaru and within a few months had an issue with it that we felt was atypical of Subaru cars and needed to be addressed. Though the dealership advertised an open door policy, we wondered how far we would get asking to speak to the dealerships owner, Jeff Morrill, on a late Friday afternoon and without an appointment. Surprisingly no one asked us why we wanted to talk to him or tried to pawn us off on someone else. Within minutes, Jeff appeared and listened patiently to our concerns. He promised to get back to us soon and he did, calling us the following Monday to offer a solution. We proposed an alternate resolution, anticipating a long drawn-out back and forth before the issue could be resolved. Surprisingly that didnt happen. Although initially not 100% on-board with our proposal, Jeff strongly advocated for us and convinced Subaru to agree to do their part to solve this issue to our complete satisfactionquickly, amicably and at no expense to us. In addition, Planet Subaru assumed all of the related costs that Subaru Corporate did not pick up. The dealership also devoted several hours of administrative time. In the process, and by remaining true to his undealership philosophies and business model, Jeff (and his Internet Sales Mgr. Deb and Business mgr. Dave) gained our gratitude, respect and loyalty.

New 2014 Forester Touring purchase

Since he has had 2 strokes and has Parkinsonian symptoms, my husband can longer get in and out of a sedan, so I was looking for a new, taller vehicle with seats that are easier for him, and checked out several brand of SUV's, including the Subaru Forester. On a day when I was shopping at the Hanover Trader Joe's, I stopped, on the way home to Plymouth, at Planet Subaru in Hanover to test the ease of access for Bill and the ease of using the tailgate--only those features. It can be difficult to use the tailgate as you get older and sometimes shoulders are not as strong as they once were. I was greeted by Larry Terrio who, it turns out, has extensive experience in the business of medical mobility. He demonstrated that the height and design of the seat would work for my husband, and showed me the power-assisted feature of the tailgate. He understood that I was not free at that time to test out a car and offered to bring one to me (several towns away) if I wanted to try one out. I called him several days later after having taken my husband to a closer dealership to try a Forester (and that agency did not have the car they promised me we could try). Larry was very honest about inventory and delivery possibilities. I had to compromise on color to get a car right away, but I absolutely love our beige 2014 Forester Touring! I bought the cover that slides across the cargo space at the suggestion of my police officer son-in-law who liked the privacy it affords from potential burglers. Life is Good! Larry Terrio provided excellent, low-key guidance in a purchase.

Before I even went to Planet Subaru to attempt to purchase a car, I called to find out how much their interest rates were for a car loan. The person who answered my call spoke to me as if I was clueless, and was rudely questioning me before I could even finish my sentences. I still decided to try and purchase a car there anyway. Then I discovered that the car I was looking to get had without a doubt been hit in the back bumper. The whole back bumper wasn't lined up with trunk, paint was chipped underneath the tail light, and the paint was also spidering on the side of the bumper. The sales guy named David G. tried to prove to me that the car had never been in an accident by showing me a clean car fax. However, it is possible to hide things on a car fax report. Knowing that made things questionable so David then said "oh yeah, the car did come in with what looked to be a loose bumper so we re-attached it". Clearly that meant the bumper had been damaged, because otherwise a bumper shouldn't just fall off by itself unless Subaru makes some cheaply made vehicles. Even after all this, David said they still expected to receive over $22,000 for the car, despite the damage. Their rates are only negotiable within a few hundred dollars, which makes no sense if a cars damage is gonna be around $1,000 to fix. Then I would've had to pay myself to fix it since Planet Subaru's mechanics clearly can't do auto body work. I was very disappointed with the service I received, and ended up walking away from it all.

We decided to start looking at all-wheel drive cars last fall. We chose Planet Subaru because of their large inventory of cars and their favorable reviews on the web. We went to Planet Subaru twice several months ago and spent a lot of time talking about different models and options and test driving cars with David Gardner. We were very impressed by his lack of pressure, his desire to get us into a car that was right for us, his knowledge of the cars, and his pleasant, friendly manner. We then did a lot of shopping around at non-Subaru dealers, doing the same thing. Finally, we realized that the Forester was the right car for us. We went back to Planet Subaru last week and bought a Forester, trading in our Honda Civic. (There was no pressure to trade in the car at all--it was our own decision to do so.) David helped make the whole purchase process very smooth and easy, and both of the finance managers (one on the day of purchase, and the other on the day of car pick-up) were helpful, low-key, and easy to deal with as well. I have already recommended Planet Subaru to friends and will continue to do so. They really are like an "un-dealership", as they advertise. From the time you walk in to the time you drive out, there is a mellow, friendly (but professional) feeling to the dealership.

They have assisted me in the purchase of 1 vehicle (a Scion xA), leasing of 2 (a Subaru Impreza and a Subaru Forester), as well as all of my oil changes, inspections, and car work. I have never once been disappointed with my experience. In addition to being knowledgeable, everyone on the staff is courteous and dedicated to helping their customers get exactly what they need. Everyone that I interact with actually listens and cares about what I am saying. They treat you with respect and are always upfront and honest about pricing, availability, and your options. In addition to the staff being top notch, the facility itself is clean and welcoming. I was able to sit with and feed my newborn son in front of their fire place on my most recent visit and we both felt completely comfortable (and warm!). I also find it pretty refreshing that they use solar power for their showroom (http://www.planetsubaru.) You can also look forward to (probably) seeing one of their dogs when you come in. They're just as friendly and wonderful as the staff! If you want to feel comfortable and good about where you go to buy your car then Planet Subaru is the dealership for you. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new or used car to purchase or lease as well as anyone in need of any type of car service. They are, quite simply, the best of the best!

The 50-minute drive to Planet from our Boston-area home was well worth it to buy our new Forester. They stock more base models than most area dealers, so we saved money by not paying for add-ons we didn't want, and still got a car off the lot. Deb and the Internet sales team were a dream to work with. We negotiated a fair price for a specific vehicle entirely over email and phone, and the deal didn't change when we arrived to sign the paperwork. The no-pressure, transparent process continued in the Finance office where we encountered none of the squeeze tactics for add-ons and extended warranties so common in a typical dealership. Add to that Planet's remarkable commitment to environmental responsibility and staffing diversity, and it really is an "un-dealership as they call themselves on their website. We'd gladly buy here again.

My girlfriend and I went to Planet Subaru to look for a newer vehicle .We looked at vehicles for 20 to 30 minutes in their lot without being swarmed by salespeople .After we looked we went inside and we approached a salesperson named David Gardner. I told him what I was looking for and what I wanted to spend with my trade. They took no info from me other than our first names. I test drove a Forrester and decided that was the vehicle I wanted to purchase .Without any haggling and :dancing" around , my price was met within 10 minutes. David was courteous, extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle and all around great guy. My experience with Planet Subaru was without a doubt the best I've ever had and I've owned over 20 cars. I've told all my friends and family how I was treated and told them to spread the word. I'm proud to display the name Planet Subaru on my vehicle. I will be a customer for life!

I bought a new Forester from Planet a few years ago and had a fantastic experience. From my first contact with Deb Brewster via the internet to current day, Planet people are always responsive, direct, very pleasant and HONEST. A great place to do business. I look forward to my visits to their environmentally advanced showroom where I have a chance to play with Blue, Planet's Silver Lab "showroom doggie greeter". I also really appreciate the active role that Planet plays in the community, including their consistent support of Standish Humane Society in Duxbury!

They claim to be the "undealership" and based on experience at a more typical dealership, they're right: No long sell speach while on the test drive - they let us take the car out ourselves! None of the "let me talk to my manager" nonsense with regards to price. The vehicle we bought was priced around Blue Book for individual resale, so they're already discounting. Paperwork process was quick and relatively painless.

A MUST visit "Undealership" to experience!!!

I have been a very happy customer at Planet Subaru since 2007! It began as my first experience as a newly-divorced, single Mom, who had never had a vehicle registered under her name, let alone visiting & needing to purchase a vehicle on her own! I had never even ridden in a Subaru before! After researching amongst Toyota, Honda & Subaru, I decided to find out what the "All-Wheel-Drive" safety and handling that Subarus were known for. I was fortunate to have met Sales Advisor, Deb Brewster at that time, who alleved my worries with her gentle, no pressure mannerism, helpful guidance in suggesting what my options were based on my financial situation(and being a woman helped also!). I'm currently and happily on my third leased vehicle, AND I even purchased a Certified Used, very good both mechanically & attractive 2005 Honda Civic Coupe for my college-aged daughter from Planet Subaru! I feel that more people should know about Planet Subaru's amazingly stress-free, non-traditional dealership atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff beginning from the Service Area reception, and especially from Sales staff such as Deb Brewster and Bob Choate, whom I've been fortunate enough to work with. Planet provides complimentary car wash with service (no other dealerships have that unless you're at a Porsche dealership), and the no extra charge Lunar(loaner) car with service (just bring back with gas used)! Hanover is a drive for me coming from Newton, but it's been worth it! I haven't had any mechanical issues with all my leased vehicles, and even if it did, there is the reassuring 3 year/36,000 mileage. Some day, when I'm in a better finanical situation, I definitely wil purchase a new Subaru from Planet Subaru!

Bob Choate and Deb Brewster of the internet team are the best !! Unlike most internet dealer contacts, where some hack in the back of the store will promise you anything to get a lead for one of their high pressure salesman..The team at Planet were with you from first contact thru signing. My Legacy is so sweet !! It is so much fun to drive that I now wish I worked farther from home. Everything seems to be working really well, and this is definitely my dream car.Thank-you for your patience and making my experience at Planet the most satisfying and painless car purchase ever. Not only do I now drive the car I hoped for,but feel very confident that there is a great team of folks I can rely on should any issues arise. Thanks again for such great service and for the respect and professionalism that you provided. 20 plus years at Planet Subaru. HONEST people, Friendly people. The service is outstanding and I am very sad that due to a move to North Carolina I can no longer use their service department. I have recommended this dealership to family and friends. I had purchased subaru's at other dealerships in the Boston area and was horrified by how they attempted to take advantage of me. This has never happened at Planet Subaru. I have even asked Planet service about repair costs at dealerships in my new area and they have been very helpful. If you want a Subaru (and you do) this is the place you want to buy it.

We have purchased 4 Subaru's since 1998 all from Planet Subaru. Once we met everyone from sales to service, Terry and I were hooked. I met Jaime McGuinness in May 2013 on a service visit and immediately liked her. She had the answers to my questions and did not have to go talk to her manager like at most dealerships for answers and approval to make a deal. We communicated via email for a few weeks because we went off on vacation prior to making the new purchase. The first Subaru was the Impreza Outback Sport then the Impreza Hatchback and we then moved on to something bigger and got the 2003 Forester which we kept until last month. I never thought I would keep a car 10 years but that was a keeper. All the models seemed to get bigger so when we saw the XV Crosstrek I immediately knew finally a new Subaru in the right size for us not to small and not to big. The wheels were the real deciding factor, that and a test drive which felt like driving our old Forester, it felt like coming home. Check out Planet's Passport program, free tires and batteries and a loaner Rocket if yours is in service. We have had our Crosstrek for a month now and made a great decision once again at Planet Subaru. Thanks to everyone.

Our family has purchased 2 Subarus, a used Legacy and a new Outback from Planet in the past 2 years, and the experience both times has been phenomenal. During our first purchase, my wife and I had been to other dealerships and gotten the stereotypical used car push. Our experience at Planet was the exact opposite, staff was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. We have worked with James Greene both times, and it has been a great experience. He is extremely friendly, helpful, and communicative. The delaer takes care of plates, registration and spends time with you at car pick up going through features and explaining the car. I would not hesitate to go back, and if you are looking for a more friendly, relaxed, exceptional car buying experience, head to Planet.

He asked us during the process while we were at Planet Subaru as well as e-mailing us after we had left the dealership to make sure that any questions we had were answered. He was the face of this dealership and he did a splendid job. If I needed to purchase another vehicle I would seek him out since he is clearly an honest and trustworthy person. I recently purchased a late model Outback from Deb. She was totally straight forward and helpful in getting me into the car i wanted. Only 10 years ago the way cars were sold - especially used cars - was based on the hard sell: "what do we need to do to get you into a car today" kind of approach Numbers fluctuated based on all sorts of trips to the manager, tradein factors etc. Not only does this not exist at Planet Subaru but several other dealers are equally laid back and comfortable that when you are ready to buy you will. I bought from this dealership because they had what i wanted and were good to deal with. I can't ssay i got the trade in i wanted on my old vehicle or that there was any 'haggling' back and forth on the price. Regardless I was ready to buy and they were all very helpful assiting me in the process of setting up the transaction, going over in detail all the features in the car, and being prompt all around. They have a good maintenence deal but I live 40 minutes north of this cape cod bound location that can be tough traveling to. I will try to stay with them as they offer free loaners. We shall see on that.

My wife and I went to Planet Subaru in the market for a new car. It was the first new car we had ever bought, so we werent sure what to expect, but Planet Subaru did not disappoint! We worked with Bob, who was very friendly, knowledgeable and zero pressure. When we test drove cars, he would tell us about the car and point out some features, and then let us take the cars out alone. We landed on the 2013 Subaru Impreza because its fun to drive, 36 MPG and AWD. Unbeatable. Bob helped us select a package that would allow us to take delivery of the car as quickly as possible (this was important because I was starting a new job soon). When we went back to pick up the car, Bob gave us a thorough walk-through and pointed out the features and he even set up my phone to connect to the cars Bluetooth. We got a great financing deal and the dealership took care of everything plates, registration, cancelling our old plates, and called the insurance company. They also let me leave my old car there to donate it to the Special Olympics. I didnt have to lift a finger and I already got my tax receipt. I cant say enough positive things about this dealership and the people we worked with there. My wife and I had such a good experience, we actually went back to Planet Subaru for a second Impreza a few months later!

I felt compelled to write a review after my experience with this dealership. I went to test drive a 2012 Legacy that I saw online. Upon entering the dealership I was greeted with a smile, offered refreshments, yada yada yada, nice and friendly just like every other dealership. James was quick in pulling up the Legacy, showed us all the bells and whistles, and then let me and my boyfriend test drive all by ourselves, not accompanied by a Planet Subaru rep (this was new to me as all other test drives I had the sales rep in the back seat). We test drove the car and even took it on the highway - everything was good.Went back to the dealer and explained that we were off to test drive some other vehicles that day. He didn't even try to stop us from walking out the door (first inclination that they really don't want to work for their business)! Fast forward to later that evening, after test driving various vehicles all day we wanted the Legacy. They quote me on my trade at $6k. Previous quotes I received that day were consistently $1k-$1,500 more than this. He proceeds to tell me that they aren't really giving me more for my car, just knocking it off the sticker price. So then I address the sticker price - he says he cant do anything to lower it. Cant lower the trade either. Then he says that Kelley Blue Book trade-ins aren't accurate, then proceeds to pull of Legacy comps on Kelley Blue Book to verify his selling price?!? So contradictory and ridiculous. I am a Director of Sales for a corporation where I get commission and I negotiate, never have I been met with such poor salesmanship. How is this considered being a salesman? It is more like being a clerk where you walk in a store, pick something up off the shelf, and pay for it. In reality, if they just gave me a couple hundred bucks more for my trade or knocked it off the sticker price, I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT RIGHT THERE.Went to Mastria in Taunton two days later and bought virtually the same car (with the same customer care plan mind you, tires and everything for life) for $2k less at the end of the day! They even acted like they wanted my business! Don't waste your time at Planet Subaru. Go to Mastria and get treated with respect and get a fair deal.

Then a while later it was brought in for a engine oil leak. They thought it was leaking from the head but not bad enough to be covered under the warranty they sold us! Spots of oil all over my drive way!!! Finally brought in for a sticker told me we needed rear brakes for $600! Said forget it they put a rejection sticker on! !!! I was a mechanic and checked them myself they were about 65% worn they lied just to get the work. Stay away from planet suburu they are thieves. We traded the forester the next day for a Nissan. I usually don't write reviews but I feel ethically obligated to warn people about Planet Subaru. I was at Planet Subaru looking to purchase a Subaru Legacy and trade in my BMW. When the salesman pulled up Kelly Blue Book, he handed me a print out stating that my car was worth $8000, at best. I looked at the print out and noticed that the evaluation was for a 325xi, not a 330xi which I was looking to trade...had I not looked carefully, I would have fallen for it, and lost the $12000 that Ira Subaru ended up giving me for my trade. I found swapping the model numbers to be intentionally deceitful and an example of poor business practices. I will also state that Planet Subaru is by far and away the most expensive dealership to get any type of service done. I wanted to get puddle lights installed, and was quoted $350.00 at planet Subaru. Mastria Subaru in Raynham, MA ended up installing them for $125.00. My 30,000 service was quoted at planet Subaru for $600, at Mastria, $500. Some may say this difference isn't large, but it's 20% more. In addition, Planet Subaru rarely, if ever, has loner cars available. With all of the cars they have on their lot, they could beef up their fleet of loaner cars, for sure. What Planet Subaru does an excellent job of GOUGING customers in a very difficult economy. In addition to their service department being wildly dishonest and conniving, the sales department outright lies to their customers. When I was looking to purchase a Legacy, they told me their sticker prices are the absolute best they could do (Really???). I ended up purchasing a new Legacy at Ira Subaru for $1500 BELOW STICKER and FULL price for my trade. Why do people continue to accept being abused and taken advantage of by Planet Subaru???

This "undealership is anything but. The service dept has tried to take advantage of my wife the minute she walked in. Our first experience was a leaking moonroof on her new outback they were rude and tried to charge her to repair it, the car was brand new. Next she got a flat tire coming home from work so she went to the dealer to have the tire plugged because it was on her way to work. When she got there they asked her if she wanted the 15000 mile service done at a cost of $170. She declined the service, five minutes later they came out and said they couldnt plug her tire and she would need a new one at a cost of $170.She said no once again and I brought the tire to a local shop they plugged it for $15 and said it was fine. Our last time we went back because the moonroof started leaking again. They tried to charge her $95 for a diagnostic check and didnt have a promised loaner car ready for her. When she picked the car up there was a grease stain on the passenger seat and water everywhere. This dealership is awful do not go there please do your self a favor and go anywhere else.

Recently purchased a used Subaru Forester from Planet Subaru. They actually had the car I saw online in their inventory so it wasn't a way to get you there to sell something more expensive. It's because of this that buying a car is the LEAST favorite thing I want to do. Planet Subaru made this an enjoyable experience. Sales reps I dealt with, Larry Terrio & Stephen Grant were very professional and pleasant to deal with. I wasn't hounded to make a purchase that day, or to buy the extras like extended warranties, detailing packages. I always thought if you need to push buying extended warranties maybe this purchase will be a problem in the near future.

I see a lot of poorly written reviews on here, some claiming they know people who were fired etc... seriously people, come on! Use common sense, how can someone quote you something over the phone for service? They have to look at the car to see what is wrong. A Jeep, Ford, Honda or Toyota dearlership will say the same and charge for service too, it's a BUSINESS. It seems to me that you simply like to complain - nothing will ever make you happy. I'd fire your friend too! Heaven forbid my employee tell my customers to go elsewhere. Laughable. I lease my Subaru and have my car serviced at Planet. I am also the third person in my family to do so!!! I, and they, will not go anywhere else. Is Planet perfect? No. Is any dealership? NO! Is Planet the most honest, friendly and hard working dealership I've come in contact with? ABSOLUTELY. That is my recommendation, take it for what it's worth.

So my family has purchased multiple cars at this dealership and has had repairs done for the past 6-7 years. I have had okay support from the dealership when it came to warranties and repairs when it came to this particular dealership. My friends brother used to work at this dealership and got fired because he was caught persuading customers to go to his friends shop to save a lot more money then what Subaru charges (Who can blame him?). With the new dealership of Quirk Subaru in Braintree opening, prices have definitely shot up in Planet Subaru due to the lost of customers. On this, he told me what goes on inside the dealership on warning on purchasing a car and repairing:1. Never call to check on your vehicle on problems. If you call concerning a problem with your vehicle (check engine light, warranties) the person on the phone's job is to get the customer to bring the car to the shop. If you ask if warranty covers it, the operator will need to play stupid and pretend as if they do not know. As soon as the customer figures out they are getting no where, they bring the car to the shop to further examine the vehicle.2. Regardless, you WILL be charged. Subaru of New England has no control over the prices and charges that a dealership charges their customers. Planet Subaru charges $85 just to check on the check engine light or problems with the vehicle. This $85 is considered "waived" if the repairs are done through there dealership (Which prices are marked up depending on how well the dealership is doing and commission on parts/repairs that the department receives). If it is a simple fix, they have the "face" of the repairs (I believe his name is Matt, goatee mustache) call and explain the repairs needed. The "Face" of the company are known for speaking well in persuading a customer to get the repairs done on there vehicle pretending it is a good deal because the $85+ is considered waived, making the customer think they saved money. Every company has one.3. Even if it IS covered under warranty, Planet Subaru NEVER checks. Regardless, there job is to receive money from the customer, Subaru of New England does NOT pay Planet Subaru. On saying this, the Customer has to call/e-mail Subaru of New England to confirm that they will pay for the repairs according to there warranty. Planet Subaru will "pretend" saying they have checked and will ALWAYS say they were denied or not covered under warranty. This is the customers job to ensure it is indeed covered under warranty.4. Lousy repair shop. Because they Have the Subaru title, doesn't mean they will do a great job. They are known to use USED auto parts laying around the shop in order to cut ends. Be sure to ensure all bolts, covers and parts are installed onto your vehicle BEFORE leaving the dealership. If you notice a problem (Missing part) you will be charged and the "face" of the company will pretend they are unaware of any missing parts and will give a price quote on the actual part needed to be replaced.5. Underestimate. My friend stated in order to get a customer go through with the repairs needed, they under estimate by at most $100. When you get a repair quote, they will say something like $520 which sounds much more appealing then the ACTUAL $600. This is to get the customer to do with the repairs until they need to pay. If you choose not to do the repairs, they still get your money with the $85+ diagnostic fee (Actual price for the machine itself.)6. NEVER buy a pre-owned vehicle. The pre-owned vehicles are known to need to be repaired in the future. e.g. A transmission will fail within 10k miles, the previous owner instead trades it in, no repairs are done and they sell the vehicle at a promising price. When the transmission fails, it will need to be paid for out of the customers pocket, leaving a good time gap of negligence passed onto the customer and off the dealership. Quirk Subaru of Braintree has just opened, even tho they are competition, they have free check up (Not $85) and actual price quotes since I've switched. Customers will be suckered into Planet Subaru as soon as they drop of the car. Don't say I didn't warn you.

I needed a used car, and I was leaning towards a used Subaru Outback 2005 or 2006. I did a first round of research / test drive test with local dealers (Cityside, Belmont; Metrowest, Framingham). I wasn't satisfied, the guy from Cityside was stubbornly trying to drag me in his sales office to negotiate while starting from a sky high price for a not so great regular Outback, while the guy from Metrowest was quite unresponsive, and although his LL Bean car was way better (and significantly lower priced) than the Cityside car, I just couldn't build trust with them (horrendous Internet reviews). I tried to get the Cityside guy to give me a more decent offer by e-mail, he got all flustered, tried to lie to me a couple of times, and ending up being rather insulting. Ok, forget it...So I decided to drive a bit further and visit Planet Subaru, in Hanover. Well, that is a well-kept place, loads of cars on a giant parking lot, spacious dealership building, nice humor (the "undealership"), excellent reviews. I asked to test-drive a Forester (as there was no 2005/06 Outback available, I was pondering to change my tack). Nate took care of us, very low-pressure yet very informative when being asked questions, this was all a different experience from the other guys. I didn't like the Forester very much, Nate understood, didn't push it at all, told me he'd come back to me if he has something more suited to my needs, and I came back home pondering the LL Bean again.A couple of days later, I got an e-mail from Nate indicating he was going to receive a 2006 Outback, with quite a few miles (106k), but in great shape, and gave me an amazing price ($5000 less than the Cityside car, which had 70k miles, a 2005 model). I asked various questions by e-mail, got fast & thorough answers, fully re-assuring me that the car had been very thoroughly inspected, including the 105k miles revision. I drove out there late one night, Nate wasn't available, one of his colleagues readily helped (although they were going to close), I drove the car, it was in outstanding shape, seemed great. I kept asking more e-mail questions, got fast answers, I made an offer for $500 less than the sales price for the heck of it, fully expecting a statement that the price was already rock-bottom, and got an immediate answer "Not going to haggle, we accept your offer". I was stunned. We drove there with my wife the day after, tried to figure out what the heck was the catch with this car which looked shiny new in every respect, and we just loved the car, and gave a deposit for it.Nate had warned me ahead of time (now that's honesty) that getting a loan might be tricky, cf. the 100k miles. So we went to see the financial manager, convinced we'd have to pay cash, and while he was amicably chatting with us, he secured a terrific loan in no time. We filled all the papers, it was a breeze.I came back the following week-end, by train. Nate drove through a mess of a traffic jam to come and get me. The car was completely ready, he took the time to give me quick instructions, and here I was, a happy driver. I've traveled to Quebec since then, logged quite a few miles, I just love my car, which I got for roughly $10K, with a great loan at a rate equivalent to inflation. Forget Cityside and those antiquated dealerships, do yourself a favor and go see the "undealership" in Hanover!

I just finished a wonderful experience with the folks at Planet Subaru in Hanover, MA. It was an internet, out-of-state purchase, and I could not have been happier with the process and the result. I would highly recommend anyone looking for an elusive model, as I was, that if they find it at Planet they can buy with confidence. Scott Kielbasa (sales) was excellent to work with -- he returned my calls promptly and answered all my (many)questions -- with professionalism. I also worked with Steve Grant for the financing and documentation. He was a wealth of knowledge and the result was a smooth transaction due to his knowledge of my state's motor vehicles laws and requirements. When I went to pick up the plates at my DMV, everything was in order, and it was effortless on my part. The best part, considering this was a sight-unseen purchase, was that the car was exactly as described on their website and by Scott; it was as if I had purchased the car from a local dealer without even leaving my house -- with delivery right to my door!

I stopped having my 2002 Forester serviced after being told that oil changes could not be scheduled after 2:00; I could come on Saturdays. Like I have nothing else to do on my weekends. I spent $100 replacing the bindle lightwhich lights up the shifter console: $5 for the bulb and $95 for the labor. It failed again and I've kept it that way. The worst experience was last August when they replaced both front end axles w/ boots, etc. Within 2 weeks, the noise reappeared. Bottom line they replaced both of them a 2nd time saying they were defective. Since I went with after market parts $720 vs $990, the part was warranted but NOT the labor. But they "graciously" said they'd pay for the 4th replacement; I only had to pay for the 3rd. I have no idea how they can call themselves the "undealer dealership." I plan to get another Subaru but not from them.

A great buying experience for my new 2010 outback. I've owned 2 outbacks, now 3, and it's my first outback buy at Planet. Deb, via email, was upfront with MSRP, invoice price, and Planet's price (and doc and delivery fees). The follow through with Stephan in finance was equally impressive (I always cringe at the finance stage, but he was great, low-key, did his job, and was no pressure), Save yourself a huge hassle, and send Deb an email, she is quite adept at spelling out terms, pricing and whatever else you have questions about, including the philosophy of Planet. When I went in to sign papers there were no surprises, just very helpful people that made it easy and stuck to the email price. it's a top-notch dealership. I drove past 2 dealers to get to Planet, and Planet delivered the goods in an upfront, straightforward way. search no further. go to Planet. They'll treat you square. Need a Subaru? They sell them. you'll be very happy. You want to buy a subaru on fair terms? go to Planet, you won't be sorry. And I've got no dog in this hunt. I've owned outbacks since 1995, bought from different dealers. These Planet people know how to treat you fairly (and they don't waste your time). AND I MIGHT ADD ... IT'S A WIKET PISSA CAR!

Overall experience is average at best. Price was negotiated over email which was nice. It made things very easy when I signed the P&S. Deb was the best part about the experience and basically that was it. Finance manager is rude and more or less just not a person that gives a crap about his work. I told them I'll be at the dealership right when it opened to finish off paperwork so we can be in and out as fast as possible. Nope, 15 minutes late without even a quick apology. Nice job sir. Real nice. This one takes the cake though, so I went in on Tuesday night to put down the deposit. I told them I have Subaru bucks to use (exact amount). They said okay, we'll note that down the next time you come in.I went in again on Saturday for delivery of finance check and pickup. For those who do not know what Subaru bucks is, they are reward points that are received from having a Subaru credit card. You can use them towards any OEM Subaru accessories, service, and brand Subaru new cars. They have been out for a number of years and definitely not a secret. So I gave it to them, they said...what is this? Again, I mentioned this to them on Tuesday that I was using it. They weren't "sure" it can be used towards new cars, they needed to research. So a whopping 10 minutes go by and they finally came back out and said they can take them no problem. No **** Sherlock, if you Google Subaru credit card and see the rewards section, it's right there. Somehow that took 10 minutes, talking about not valuing the customer's time. I even had it opened on my iPhone ready to show them the website. Don't waste your time at Planet and do yourself a favor, make the extra long drive up to Manchester Subaru in New Hampshire where somebody actually treats you right and values your time. They even deliver your car to anywhere in New England so you really only have to make one trip there. No to mention, they have the absolute best prices I have ever seen with the best selection.

I visited Planet Subaru to test-drive and was given a quote to lease an Impreza Wagon. When I returned a week later with intent to go through with the deal, the price had suddenly jumped by $75/month! When I tried to negotiate with our salesperson, he basically wouldn't budge from MSRP. I gave him a couple of different options and he kept shrugging his shoulders, not taking anything seriously. My friend was also there to buy, and he told her that he didn't want to give her an offer or tell her how much they'd give for her trade-in until she was sure she'd buy, because it was "Too much work". Like we care! Isn't this your job? I left furious. It seems to me that if he was good at his job, I would have WANTED to buy a car from him. I'll go elsewhere. Who pays MSRP for anything these days? Luckily my friend was able to talk him down a bit. We both walked in there ready to lay money down, and I had to actually tell him that we were about to both walk out the door.

We dealt with Bob Choate via email. He was very professional, friendly, and helpful. We had several horrible experiences with Subaru dealers in the NY/CT area. They would change the price and/or quote teaser prices just to get us in the showroom. They would rarely, if ever, provide a detailed pricing breakdown when we requested one. The worst experience was when a dealer changed the price of the car we wanted to lease AFTER we had already signed the purchase order agreement but before we signed the leasing agreement. I'm not even sure if that is legal, but we left and decided to search for a more honest dealer. My family in MA recommended Planet Subaru and we dealt exclusively with Bob. He was very helpful, his correspondence was prompt and clear, and he sent us detailed pricing breakdowns. We highly recommend him if you're looking to have a more pleasant dealership experience. You may pay a few percent more for the good service, but keep in mind that other dealerships quotes really mean nothing until you finish signing all the paperwork. Only then will know if those quotes were for real.

Ok... The people at Planet seemed to me to be the nicest sales people I've ever dealt with; I really wanted to do business with them. The problem is this - they quoted a price to me, and acted like it was a really great deal. Unfortunately for them, I'm no novice, and I had done my research well in advance. I obtained from another dealer (Patrick Subaru) a substantially better price for the same exact car. I liked the people at Planet so much, however, that I actually told them what Patrick offered me, and gave Planet a chance to meet the offer. THEY REFUSED! Planet claimed the offer from Patrick seemed "fishy." Well, the car is in my driveway, for the price quoted. No tricks, and nothing fishy about it. Because Planet refused to come down by $1.5K (a deal I know they can make, due to an offer made by another New England area dealer), they missed out on a sale of almost $30K. Not smart!

I bought an '05 Forester from Planet Subaru in 2006. Since my purchase 3 years ago, every one I've ever dealt with at Planet Subaru has been polite, friendly and has gone out of his/her way to be sure that my experience was satisfactory. Deb Brewster is the nicest person and she worked very hard to find a car that fit my needs. The Forester has been a wonderful car. I've never had a vehicle handle so well in the snow and I've driven 4wd Jeeps, Explorers, Mazdas, etc. The service department has also been very accommodating. The only negative I have to offer is that Subaru's in general are expensive to service, however, they do seem to hold their trade-in value quite well, so this is something to consider as well. If you want a car-buying experience that doesn't leave you feeling resentful and ripped-off, give Planet Subaru a try.

It took three tries to get a fairly trivial repair completed (serpentine belt). It cost over $435 in labor costs alone. The money is an issue, of course, but it is not the primary issue. The issue is the safety and reliability of the vehicle. Like I said, my 72 year old mother drives this car. She sometimes transports my 3 year old daughter.I do not trust their workmanship. It is my opinion that they are dishonest or at least incompetent. In this cold weather, a failure like this is potentially deadly for the elderly and very young. The most ridiculous part of this problem is that this is a trivial repair. So, if you want to buy a Subaru, don't go to Planet Subaru. In my opinion, the service department is not trustworthy. Both the serpentine belt pulleys failing in the way they did also suggests that a Subaru may not be as good an investment as people generally think. My whole story is at http://www.planetsubarusucks.com

Pleasant dealing with Shawn Hayes, the salesperson.Stephen Grant, an assistant manager, made errors in completing paperwork and failed to disclose verbally a $288.00 documentation fee.The registration paperwork was returned to us from the registry of motor vehicles because of the errors made by Planet Subaru representatives in completing the forms. When we requested a refund of our $288.00, we were told maybe they were just unable to satisfy us. The best they could do is offer $25.00 toward our overnight costs and suggested they could probably not make us happy.Cory did not have the air filter changed when completing the 15,000 mile service and was insulting when we pointed out that the warranty requires the air filter to be changed at 15,000 miles and they were supposed to perform that service before delivering the car. He dropped an air filter on the desk and said we could take this with us.We finally asked to speak with the owner, Jeff Morrill, who was pleasant and offered to cover our overnight costs and explained how often the lives of their salespeople were threatened by customers as a reason Cory may have suggested we take our business elsewhere. We are not sure what that had to do with us as we made no threats. We did suggest that we may seek resolution in small claims court if we could not resolve this issue with the management. We had intended to return to purchase another Subaru from them and will now look elsewhere. We also will not use their service department. Under no circumstances would I recommend doing business with this company. Once the salesperson has closed the deal, they are done.

I will never buy from or receive service from planet Subaru again. This dealer was insincere from the moment the salesman told me that they were a low pressure type of dealer. I realized this after the 5th call within 4 weeks after my initial inquiry. The service department is inept. I have been there twice now for warranty issues; neither of which have been resolved. The first was a shutter in the steering wheel when turning to the right. Apparently it was my imagination. The second one was a metal rattle in the front end. They could not find or fix this problem either, but they had no problem telling me I needed new tires and brakes on a car they sold me 10,000 miles ago!!! In fact, they told me they would not pass my state inspection unless they put on new tires and brakes!!! This place is a total scam and some of the service writers are con men/women. I bought my car here. The experience was good, the people were very friendly and were not pushy, and the price was reasonable.I actually really liked this dealership at first. But then I would find that it was nearly impossible to schedule service with them. They would even want you to leave it overnight for an oil change. And any small fix required the car to stay all day. It seemed as if they were just not equipped to do any kinds of repairs outside of the most basic services (and even then it was a stretch). It felt like they had one person for the whole service department or something, and that person was new, and didn't know too much about fixing cars unless he/she was looking at the book while doing it.. I don't know.. Just seems like they want to sell the cars, but are being forced into having a service department.Even to get an oil change you were looking at setting up the apointment three weeks to a month away at the earliest.I don't know what happened, but I started going elsewhere for service.
