At the end of October 2016 I came to Paul Miller Toyota to buy a used van.I gave a deposit of $500. The day my wife and I decided not to buy the van and asked for our deposit back. As of 11-12-2016 we did not get our money back.

I gave the dealership a $500 deposit on a van. The next day my wife and I decided not to buy a van. As of 11-12-2016 after 2 weeks of phone call and lots of promises we DID NOT get our money back.

I just bought a car at this dealership, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the kind of service I received. The sales person, Danny, was tireless in trying to show all the cars I had any remote interest on, even if it was not going to lead to a sale. He was very patient and concise. The Sales manager, James(if I am not wrong..), was also very straightforward and respectful. While he tried to accommodate any request I may have had, he was very detailed and took interest on my informational demands.Lastly, the finance manager, Michael, was again quite pleasant, helpful, and straightforward. I strongly recommend this team. I do not know about other people at this dealership, as I may have lucked out. I can speak only about this really good team. Even if you end up not buying a vehicle, one would be nicely surprised to deal with them.

We went to the dealership a week ago just to look around at another Camry or a Corolla. We spoke with Nick, who was extremely helpful. We did in fact end up leasing another Camry. (our 3rd from this dealership) Nick was thoroughly professional, not a bit pushy, but rather wanting us to get what we would be happy with. We go back to this dealership because their service department is terrific. Our whole experience in leasing the new car was totally enjoyable. Our thanks to Nick and Michael, who helped us complete the deal with the financing. We will no doubt return to this dealership in 3 years when we need another car.

Very poor customer service, and phone calls were never returned. Repeated requests for an issue to be resolved blatantly ignored. I would never purchase a car from this dealership, nor would I recommend it.

This dealership is terrible at handling things. Anton, the salesman we dealt with has very little follow through. I had to get very nasty with him in order to get satisfaction and I don't like that, but when my husband called and was patient and nice - we were forgotten. The manager, Joe told us he was looking into a refund we were due and then quit working there with no follow up. I think that because we bought a used car that wasn't super-expensive they didn't care about us at all. We drove a long way to purchase a particular vehicle we had seen online. We put down a deposit over the phone to hold the vehicle. When we arrived they had prepared the wrong car. When they found the right one it had several blemishes that had not been disclosed. They agreed to a meager reduction in the price. At the desk to complete the deal they would not take our down payment by personal check (which was not disclosed prior to our arrival) they also wouldn't take more than $2500 on a credit card. Very inflexible. We were told to just finance the full amount, which I did not want to do. They charged us $350 to handle the registration (outrageous) and swore to us that we were not allowed to handle the registration ourselves. They use a third party company that charges additional fees. Which we paid. They assured us that we would get some money back. We drove off with a 20 day temporary plate. It expired long before the real plates arrived despite several phone calls on our part to several employees at Paul Miller Toyota, and when the plates finally were sent they told us they were coming overnight, but they sent them two-day (probably to save $10). In the end we paid almost 2x what it would cost at the DMV for supposed expediting service that took so long I was driving around illegally for like a week, not that anyone at the dealership cared. They just kept saying they would take care of any tickets and we wouldn't get any points on our licenses, but why should I have to worry about that at all? We still have not received the refund from the registration, six weeks later. We called today and were told (after 2 phone calls and 30 minutes) the check was sent out,after being cut on the 1st (over a week ago). I had to get nasty again before anything got taken care of. I feel lied to and forgotten. The only apology I received was solicited by me saying "you owe me an apology". I really want the whole $350 back for my trouble. Never ever do a deal with these people, they mishandled everything on ours and can't deal with their mistakes without getting defensive. TERRIBLE customer service, the receptionist can't even route calls to the right place. Today I called for Anton and got the service department! PS- below there is a form that lists the names of the employees so I can check off who I dealt with, none of the people I spoke to are listed.

This is my first dealer review. I usually do not get upset when buying cars as I know it can be a challenging process however this recent event bothered me so I wanted post my feedback. I went to visit this dealership as I used to know previous owners. I was looking at various vehicles, took a test drive and wanted to get some ballpark numbers. The sales rep was nice but seemed confused when trying to provide numbers. He kept having to go to a finance contact and each time he came back the numbers went up. I had advised the sales rep to contact me when they have some numbers to give me. I was confused by this tactic of raising the pricing and when the finance contact came out I explained my confusion. I asked what the final number was as I was quoted three different numbers. I was advised the highest number was the final offer. I was very interested in the vehicle and very sad that the dealership was not agreeable to work with me.

Bought our Chevy Tahoe this weekend From Joe Navarra. Spoke with him over the phone worked out a deal and not like your typical dealer when we got there nothing changed. Our Salesman Nick Hagen was polite Kind and answerd all of my wife's questions. I have already told 10 of my friends to go see Joe for there next vehicle and there is no need to go shopping and wasting your time with the other dealerships sales pressure. The whole staff is top notch. They really go over your car carefully, and are honest about necessary and optional work to be done. They do not try to "pad" a bill simply because I am a single woman who doesn't know a lot about cars. I was very impressed the one night close to closing I called because my car wouldn't start (I was out shopping), and the gentleman remained on the phone with me for almost an hour to make sure I was safe and that the problem was solved. He said "I know exactly who you are and I would want someone to take care of my daughter this way!"

I bought my brand new Scion iA from Paul Miller Toyota approximately four weeks ago and I can honestly say that it was the absolute best car buying experience I EVER had! My sales rep, Anton Gonch could not have done a better job at putting me in the car I wanted at a great price. My monthly payment is actually lower than I anticipated! The detail dept. did a stellar job of preparing my car for delivery. The manager, Joe Navarra was also very helpful. I will definitely do business with Paul Miller Toyota again and will also recommend them to my friends and family without hesitation!

Went in to the dealership on 5/19. Not your typical dealer was greeted with the most warm and welcoming approach i have ever had in my 25 years buying vehicles. We came in for a 2013 Camry spoke with Joe Navarra the sales manager who told us he would have the car pulled up waiting for us. He introduced us to our salesman Nicholas Hagen who was nothing but knowledgeable about the vehicle. We fell in love at first sight and we and now proud owners of a new 2013 Camry and can't be more happier. Please go see Joe and Nick they are the best the business has to offer.

Normally, I hate car dealers. I found a car that I wanted to buy. The car was at Paul Miller Toyota. I went in expecting the usual condescending, pushy attitudes that have tainted my prior experiences. Anton met me at the door and I told him why I was there. He made the experience quite painless. In fact, it was downright pleasant. He took me through the process and the test drive with patience and professionalism. I was not aware of the fact that Paul Miller recently added Toyota to their car dealership group. I thought I was walking in to West Caldwell Toyota. The Sales consultant Anton Gonch approached me and after the introduction he worked with me on every single angle until the purchase was completed. I was not sure if I should go with Camry LE or XLE, Anton guided me in the right direction without being aggressive like some other car dealers. I have been driving Toyota cars for last 20 years and I have purchased new Toyota from other dealership in the past. After my most recent Toyota purchase experience from Paul Miller, I would go back to Paul Miller Toyota and highly recommend this dealership to others who are interested in purchasing Toyota. My husband and I have been looking for a car, and this would be our first car we have purchased ourselves so we were a little nervous. We received bad customer service from a Honda dealer before we paid a visit to this dealer and we were a bit hesitant because of it, however we worked with the associate Anton and he was very helpful and friendly. We did not feel rushed or pushed into buy anything at this dealer. We told him what we were looking for and he showed us the cars that met our requirements/needs. What made the purchasing of our first car pleasant and easier than we thought was the customer service we received. Anton and his manager did a wonderful job of assisting us and making us feel comfortable with the purchase we made. We may need a car in the future and we will definitely be coming back to him to purchase another car. My husband and I love the car. It is very comfortable to drive and looks great as well. The interior of the car is very nice and we can tell this car will be great for a long time. Definitely ask for Anton when purchasing a car at this dealer because he will make sure you find the car the your looking for.

This dealership is the worst I've seen and I have experience in the car dealership industry.My wife went into lease a new Highlander. I came in midway through the financing process and I couldn't believe the shenanigans that were being pulled on my wife. They are shameless. I can say confidently that you will get scammed when you come here. There is no doubt. They will try every trick in the book. I suggest that you examine every single line item on your contract. And, when you do catch a "mistake" somewhere, watch out because Gil, the finance manager will try to stick it back somewhere else. Dead serious.The following is just one example of the many ways that you will get scammed here. The finance guy at this dealership will push for you to buy GAP insurance. Initially, he'll quote you $900 for a 3-year lease but will say you're going to get you a great deal at only $250/year. Sounds like a great deal, right? The only problem is that GAP insurance should only cost about $20/year! Their first excuse will be that their GAP insurance is more comprehensive. I guess it's so much better that it's 10 times the cost?Show your sales contract to someone who knows what he's looking at. I guarantee you that you'll find something amiss.

I initially visited the Honda dealership across the street to purchase an Odyssey but was unable to get service after walking around the showroom for approximately 15 minutes. I went across the street to Caldwell Toyota and i was greeted immediately by a smiling salesperson named Anton Gonch. Anton was very welcoming and made me feel extremely comfortable with the Sienna. He had a very informative but low pressure approach which led me to purchase a Sienna on the spot. He worked with my wife & I to make the entire process (including trade-in) very easy and we're excited about our purchase. The finance manager was also excellent and patiently worked with us to find a financing package that we were comfortable with. I will be a loyal customer for life.

After months of searching for the perfect Toyota, I was at my wits end. I was prepared to keep my old beat up Sentra until it died on me. I knew I wanted a Toyota, that was a no brainer, it was just a matter of finding the right one within my price point. In May after a horrible experience at a dealership in Bergen county, my cousin suggested going to Caldwell Toyota which is actually about 20 minutes from my house. That day, I was looking to ""window shop" but then I saw this 2007 Toyota Camry XLE. The entire time I was looking at newer Corolla's but I really wanted a Camry because they are more spacious and fuel efficient. While browsing the lot Mynor came up and introduced himself to us. He must have noticed me looking at the 07 Camry because he gave me all the specs on it. Leather interior, sunroof, Bluetooth capability, push start, I couldn't wait to drive it. He got the keys and we were off. What a smooth ride. I wanted it. When we went to his desk to talk numbers, naturally, I asked for the Carfax and he got it for me with no problem. The report mentioned a recall for a part that Toyota should have replaced and he confirmed for me that it was done. We worked out some numbers, talked to some finance people and she was mine. No muss no fuss. I picked the car up a few days later once it was detailed. When I initially got the car, there was a slight imperfection on the rear bumper from a prior collision. Because the car was recently put on the lot, Mynor called me about a week later to tell me that a new rear bumper had been ordered before I bought the car and to come in to have it installed at no cost to me. I came in that same day. Now I'm really riding in style :-) Mynor also gave me a call when my plates and registration came in and even put the plates on for me. The other night I came in for service and I stopped by the sales floor to see if Mynor was around and he was. I bought my car in May and he didn't just remember me, he remembered my car. That surprised me considering the amount of people he takes care of on a daily basis. I had a great first time buyers experience with Mynor at Caldwell Toyota. He's very personable and has a great memory lol. I would definitely buy there again.

From the time I got there to the time I left I felt comfortable with the service and knowledge the gentleman displayed. They really took care of me. Salesman Mynor Echeverria and manager John Carbone displayed a wealth of knowledge about the Camry that I financed. They seemed very genuine about what they did as well. Man.. those gentleman were on point and I really appreciated it..Also the gentleman in the finance department Gil looked out as well. He offered great advice.If I know someone that needs a Toyota car I tell ya I would not hesitate to recommend Caldwell Toyota to anyone..

I visited Caldwell Toyota today, thinking I would just look around at some of their pre-owned vehicles.I was helped in my search by employee, Mynor Echeverria. After talking to Mr. Echeverria for a long while, during which he explained everything I wanted to know about the various makes & models, I decided to purchase a Toyota Corolla. My daughters and I were browsing for a car. We came by Caldwell Toyota to explore our option. Julio Vilchez showed us a variety of vans which were available in the lot that afternoon. The van just seems so big and we werent sure if that was something that we would buy. It was so big that I didnt want to test drive it so I asked Julio to drive us for a test drive. He took us for a test drive and my daughters liked the van a lot but I was uncertain about the size. Julio told us to think about what we need so we can buy what we need and be happy with it. We came back with my husband on Saturday morning and looked again. He took us through the lot once more. We test drove the van. We came back in the late afternoon and bought the van. Julio thoroughly gave us a run down on the added fees, deals, and warranty. He wanted to make sure that we got the newest van so he searched for the new one that would off the delivery truck the following week so it would not have any mileage. This was our 3rd car purchase from Caldwell Toyota and it was again an exceptionally pleasant buying experience. Thank you!

I wanted to find a good, used car with low mileage for my price range. My brother researched several dealerships and one was Caldwell Toyota. I met with Elio Castaldo, who was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I went there initially to test drive a used Subaru, but did not like the car. I then test drove a Corolla and was pleasantly surprised, but unsure because it was smaller than I was looking for. We took his card and said we would think about it. He was no pressure and very pleasant to work with. I later on went to a Honda dealer where the manager, (not the sales rep) was high pressure and would not meet me halfway with my asking price. I left that dealership and went over to Caldwell Toyota. Elio was busy with another client and suggested I work with Alan Engert, who was also very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. We came to a meeting of the minds on a great Toyota Camry, which turned out to be the best deal for me, along with an incentive finance rate. Honda lost a customer that day, but Caldwell Toyota gained a loyal one. Excellent experience. I hope they continue to keep the great customer service.

We were looking for a 2015 Highlander for which it has become hard to find any Toyota dealer with inventory. We had gone to 6 other Toyota dealers to look for models and colors. Caldwell Toyota was our 7th dealer to visit. Anton Gonch and his manager John Contreras were extremely helpful and willing to order exactly what we were looking for. Anton was easy to deal with, not pushy, and very knowledgeable. He kept us informed of the status of the order and when the car came in, he spent all the time we needed to explain and set up the many features of our new vehicle. An overall great experience from beginning to end! I would gladly recommend Anton, John, and Caldwell Toyota to anyone looking for a new car.

After looking at other dealerships in the area, I was so happy to make a no hassle car purchase. As a female car shopper, friends warned about being taken advantage of by dealerships/salesmen. At Caldwell Toyota, Julio made me feel relaxed and that he was interested in my understanding the entire process. After patiently walking the lot with me, we sat down in the showroom which was neat and comfortable. All the sales consultants were professionally attired which gave the showroom an overall sense of being organized and of one purpose. While the car I wanted was not on the lot, he assured me it would arrive in one or two days with all the features I requested. Just as promised, I picked up my new Camry and before leaving the lot Julio patiently answered every single question I had, and he went over every feature - multiple times. (Very important if you are "technology challenged "). I recommend this dealership!

I am not an avid Review writer, but this one is worth sharing.I was at the Dealership earlier in July to buy a 2015 Toyota Sienna Limited edition. I had done my research online, made an appointment with Caldwell Toyota, and made an offer. My offer was $3000 below their 'standard' price. They refused to budge, or even give a counter offer. Unlucky for them,, as I got the same exact car from another dealership 30 miles away the next day at the price I wanted. Their unwillingness to even provide a counter offer resulted in their loss, and a bitter taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, the A/C in my brand new Sienna stopped working after 2 weeks. This time I made an appointment with the Service department of the Caldwell Toyota (if you haven't figured by now, the reason I keep on going back to them is because they are the closest to my house - 5.5miles). They could not figure out what caused the leak, simply filled up the Freon and advised me to come back if the leak occurred again. This is just ridiculous!!! How can they not find the root cause?? On top of that, nobody called me during the day to let me know that the car has been fixed. Each time I try to call them to check the status they put me on hold for 20-30 minutes (I hung up after waiting that long each time!)This is not my first rodeo. But this has been the worst ever. Interestingly both while trying to buy or get it serviced! Oh...did I forget to mention - when I was trying to buy the car, they had mentioned that they provide a free car wash each time the vehicle is serviced in their service dept. Take a wild guess if my car was washed today!

I was looking for a reliable used Corolla to replace my '93 model. My sister who recently bought a new car recommended Caldwell Toyota where she got a Camry. The Sales Manager, John Contreras and Sales Consultant, Stan Skokowski were helpful, courteous and patient while I checked and test drove the inventory in their lot. When I found the car that fit my criterion, John, Stan and I discussed the car's Carfax report, the warrantee coverage and a percentage off the sticker price as added incentive toward my purchasing the car. I opted to finance the purchase through Toyota Motor Credit in which the Business Manager, Alfredo Fabregas was very helpful and patient in explaining the terms of the loan.When I returned a few days later to pick up the car, Stan meticulously explained to me how to operate the exterior and interior features of the car. The next day, he gave me a call to check if I had any questions about the car. Overall, I found the sales staff at Caldwell Toyota quite satisfactory in helping me through the process of buying my certified 2012 Corolla. When I come across anyone who's in the market for a Toyota, I will certainly recommend Caldwell Toyota.

Dealt with Linda over the internet when I arrived she shook my hand then pawned me off to another employee [I don't eve think he could spell car with all the running back and forth to another manager] However after wasting my entire lunch hour [Which I begged Linda not to do and was assured that wouldn't happen] they told me after signing papers I had no equity in my current lease so I was forced to walk out Do not deal with this dealer [Shady]

I recently went in for service, because my 2012 tacoma had an issue with a warning light, ( check engine light ) The service department. Kristopher Bonagura my Service tech, had explained to me that it was my secondary air pump. The mechanic, Dan. Had figured out what was wrong with it right away explain the whole process. So that I would understand. And that it would be a costly fix, with out a warranty.And my warranty was up about two months ago. My service tech went above and beyond to find out that I had an extended warranty!! and he made sure that it was all covered under it! My Service tech ended up saving me a lot of money $,$$$ and made the whole process easier on me and my busy schedule. So yes I would recommend the service department to anyone who owns a Toyota!

Anton Gonch of the Caldwell Toyota dealership made this an absolute AMAZING experience! He was kind, patient, and really made sure that I was confident with my Toyota Venza. I came to trade in my Ford Explorer because of a really bad experience with the Ford dealership. My husband currently has a Scion Xb and had previously leased a Lexus is. He has had EXCELLENT service in the maintenance department as well as the sales department. Due to him receiving consistent AMAZING service, it was a pretty easy decision to switch. When we got to the dealership, Anton was the first person to greet us and ask us what we needed. We were with him pretty much all day and not once did he make us feel rushed or pressured! He was extremely professional but also very personable as well.He deserves a 10 star rating and I would absolutely recommend the Caldwell Toyota Dealership and specifically the sales associate Anton Gonch!!!!

We were at Parkway Toyota, almost ready to sign the papers, when I wanted to compare the price with another dealership closer to home. And I called Caldwell Toyota - wish I didn't. They quoted a lower price and Bob Winograd at Parkway Toyota was wondering how they could quote that price and asked us to call Caldwell Toyota back to check if they are not including the various fees / taxes and to confirm the out of the door price. They reconfirmed the out of the door price and so we went to visit the dealership and within 10 minutes found out that their quoted price did not include the fees. So we were misled by the person we spoke on the phone - not sure if on purpose or due to lack of training. We went back to Parkway Toyota and of course we wouldn't ever be back to purchase a car from Caldwell Toyota although they are only minutes away from our home.

We have leased many Toyotas. We are what you call a very loyal customer and while we have done business here before each time it was with pain. The sales staff is unrealible, not knowledgable, and lacks follow up. They pulled some sneaky things while at the dealership even though we were a repeat customer. We finally had enough. They lost our trust and relationship so we finally walk out and took our business else where - it almost made us leave Toyotas. But... We found a better dealer still in the area that has much much more inventory, better pricing, wonderful staff and values customer service. We moved all our business and will not be returning to this dealership. Highly recommend NOT doing business here ESP. When there are other dealers with better everything.

When do I begin... my purchase of a 2012 Toyota Corolla S with only 6500 miles, at CALDWELL TOYOTA was UNBELIEVABLE! I have purchased many Toyota's in my life time from different Toyota dealerships. My experience at CALDWELL TOYOTA was the easiest and most painless of all. My SA Mr. Mynor Cheverria was very professional, not "pushy" and very knowledgeable. He had great patience with my many question about the car that I wanted to purchase. The Sales Manager, Mr. Ralph Mosely was also "SUPER" to talk to. I felt very at ease and not rushed into make my decision making.I will recommend Caldwell Toyota to my friends and family members without thinking twice should someone ask me. Caldwell Toyota may not be one of the bigger Toyota dealerships in New Jersey, but sometimes smaller is better as you get "Personalized Service and Care". You won''t receive this from the bigger dealerships as they probably work on numbers only..... Mr. Alfredo Fabregas, who is in the Finance Department was also very pleasant to deal with. He did not push me on getting extra items that I didn't need when it came to go over the finances for my vehicle. Instead, I explained to him what my needs were and from there he suggested options. Very friendly and listened very well to me.Mr. Thurman Roberts, in the Service Department is a pleasure to deal with. I thought I heard a noise when I started my car and made an appointment at Caldwell Toyota Service and explained to Mr. Roberts my concern. He genuinely took great notice of what I said and let me explain in detail what I thought was wrong with my car. From past experience with other service departments they usually roll their eyes or make some kind of a face like "are you kidding me" kind of expression. It was a Saturday morning the the service department was extremely busy.I was told it would be about 2 hours wait time. Well Mr. Roberts lied to me. Car was actually ready in less than 1 hour. I originally went with my mother in law to buy a new car, and I was so happy with the experience, that I went back two weeks later and leased a car for my wife. Everything was seemless - from the original discussion, to the final sale, to the trade in, to the paperwork. John Contreras, the Sales Manager, was a true gentleman, and our salesperson, Alan Engert, was terrific - Alan even spent an hour with my mother in law and 45 minutes with my wife to ensure that they understood every aspect of thte new cars. My lease is up in 39 months and I can tell you right now we are going back!

I was looking for a new car and I was recommended by a friend to go to see Julio at Caldwell Toyota. I was very afraid to go in the process like shopping around, making a decision, signing contracts, etc, and honestly, I know people who was scammed and got very bad deals. it is hard to trust sales people from car-dealerships, they don't care about you regardless the silly commercials they do just to attract you and get you. Julio made the big difference between Caldwell Toyota and the others dealerships. From the beginning to the end he explained to me step by step in the sales process, beside his product knowledge and very professional way. I got an excellent deal. I leased a 2015 Corolla LE and it is my first new car and I will enjoy it and keep it. I highly recommend Julio and Caldwell Toyota to everyone.

While waiting for a recall fix on my beloved 2010 Corolla, Kenny allowed me to test drive a new RAV4 which interested me because it was All Wheel Drive. After comparing the monthly cost of financing vs leasing and getting a trade in appraisal on the Corolla, Kenny contacted my insurance company, obtained the lease, set up the XM and iPhone Bluetooth sound and phone system for me and I drove away in the new RAV 4 hours later (the Corolla took 8 hours at another dealer in Bergen County). Kenny was patient, not pushy, bright and efficient. Be aware that a lease has additional costs beyond the initial monthly figure quoted.

We just bought 2015 Toyota Venza from Caldwell Toyota to replace our 2009 version. Sales people, manager and everyone we spoke to were exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We have bought cars since 1968 and cannot recall a better experience when getting a new car. I received a lot of help in learning some of the new computer programs from a guy who was very patient as well as technically on top of the programs.

I worked with Mynor Echeverria who was remarkably patient, attentive and knowledgeable about the products, services and financial considerations. I wasn't happy with the first Corolla I saw and Mynor made sure that he found the correct car for me. I had a very good price from another dealership and Mynor and the manager, John Contreras, made sure that the price was matched with no haggling or hassle. They were also wonderful about the intangibles. It was a cold rainy day and they made sure that I was inside whenever possible - to pick a color etc. When the manager realized that I had to return a rental car, he immediately offered to return the car for me so that I wouldn't have to come back. And they made offers without pushing or manipulation. When I told them the financing I had from my bank, they improved on it quite a bit and even included a complimentary tire service. I can't say enough about how personable but professional the staff is. I worked in commission sales and I've seen some very questionable behavior on the sales floor. The staff at Caldwell were above reproach. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the financial person who helped me as well. At the end of the transaction, which understandably takes a while, he was so kind, helpful and engaging. He was so generous with his time and expertise.

This was my first time leasing a car, but I have been a previous car owner. I am a middle aged woman so I was stunned when I was asked, "Have you ever worked before?" instead of what was your last place of employment for the form that needed to be completed. This was rude and disrespectful. I have worked for renowned institutions and held numerous jobs and am respected in my field, but I should not have to recite my work history or tell my entire personal story in order to receive respect. Respect should be given equally to anyone who walks through the doors of a business. I have also worked in customer service. I am satisfied with the car I got out of the process, but I left with a bitter taste. I can't say that I would or would not recommend this dealership since this experience is a reflection of one individual.


I hate dealerships, but I'd come back here.

I purchased my Prius at the dealership in 2012 thanks to Kamel. I received free service for 25 thousand miles/two years with the purchase of the car. I drove for a half hour each way from my home to receive the free service whenever my car needed it. My intention was to service my car at a service center closer to my home once I reached 25,000 miles and the free service at the Caldwell service center was up. However, it has now been almost a year since the free service has expired and I still drive a half hour each way to get my car serviced at the Caldwell service center. I feel catered to there, and the wonderfully positive and friendly attitude of the members of the service center will keep me loyal to Caldwell as long as they are around! Not only is the service above board, but the team members are so wonderfully gracious and accommodating I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. While everyone there is truly friendly and obliging I have to thank Gene Christiano in particular. He has really gone above and beyond for me and really makes my life easy when my car needs service. I will continue to drive a half hour each way to the Toyota Caldwell service Center and dealership because of the wonderful people that work there.

Buying a car is generally a terrible experience - buying a car in NYC is another circle of hell. I made the trek out to Caldwell from the city and was so happy that I did. The dealerships I visited in the city weren't knowledgeable about their products and seemed to lose interest the second they saw I was a young woman buying by herself. Alan was incredibly knowledgeable about the car itself and was transparent about every step of the sales process. He went out of his way to help me, from pulling the car out of detailing so I could test drive it to FedEx'ing my plates to me later so I wouldn't have to make another hour-long trip to the dealership. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Caldwell, my experience with Alan and the car that I purchased. You don't find customer service like this very often anymore.

When my water pump seized & left me 25 miles from work, Caldwell Toyota was the closest dealer. I've never had any dealings with them before. When AAA pulled into their lot I was greeted with a big smile by Mr Roberts (at 6:40 AM ) who immediately addressed the task. Within 15 minutes, he had me in a loaner & off to work. Within 2 hours the service department had the estimate ready, Mr. Roberts contacted me with the news & came through having the car ready for pick up after work.I've had service at other dealers who always had to, order the part or couldn't get the repair done in a timely fashion.I've returned to them several times now for service & repairs & have had a pleasant, timely & affordable repair.Thanks Thurman, you are the reason I will continue to return.

Great experience at Caldwell Toyota! I originally went to Toyota Universe to test drive about a month ago and received at least a phone call a day asking to come back. I made an appointment with them with the promise of my desired car being there. When I went to get it it was not there and they tried to sell me a different car. Went right to Caldwell Toyota and they couldn't have been better. I explained that I already knew what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay. Kenny found my car right away and my offer was accepted. This is our second time leasing a vehicle through Caldwell Toyota, and we have been happy with both experiences. The staff is friendly, and our salesperson, Kamel, is great - very customer-focused. We go through the usual back-and-forth of haggling for the best deal, and I'm sure we exasperate him a bit, but we haven't ever left feeling as though we didn't get the best deal we could. We would go back again (and likely will). The only negative experiences we've had here were with servicing/parts issues. During an oil change, they didn't seal the oil filter properly (apparently there's a rubber O-ring gasket, and part of it was flipped up when the filter was tightened. Car lost all its oil and could have been a bad scene, but we took it to our local mechanic who got it squared away and we take that car to him for oil changes now). Also, an electric window motor broke (under warrantee), and they ordered the part, but when we brought the car in for repair, they had ordered the part for the wrong side of the car so we had to schlep out there again another day. Those issues aside, our overall experience there has been pleasant and we would recommend the dealership.

I had been to several dealership trying to find a car for me. The Dodge Charger that I currently had was bad in the rain and had horrible blind spots that made highway driving bad. I came into this dealership that a friend told me about. I met with Alan, he was a very nice gentleman who would listen to my needs and was very patient. I took a few cars for a test drive, Alan encouraged me to take as much time as I wanted with each car and was explaining everything in the car to me, and what extras I could get if I wanted. Only one word to describe the service I was provide by my sales consultant Julio: EXCELLENT. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and neat. I was looking around to buy my first new car and honestly, I am not an easy buyer and I visited a few dealerships in the area and he was the only sales consultant who never rushed me. First he kindly offered me to test drive the 2014 Corolla and explained all the features and convenience. After that, he described all the options available to get my new car, buy the way, I wasn't interested on leasing but from his explanation I made up my mind and I ended getting a 36 months lease. Unbelievable service, had a noise in the right front of my truck and it was getting louder and louder. I pulled into Caldwell Toyota and met with there Service Manger Matt McConnell. He told me that he would look at it right away, he introduce me to Ernie Dix and Thurman Roberts. Thurman took down my information and I proceeded to describe my issue. They told me that it would take a couple of hours and that I can wait in the waiting room. Ernie asked if I wanted a cup of coffee were he proceeded to pour me a cup. After an hour Thurman came into the waiting room and told me that a bushing was worn out and needed to be replaced. He said that it would take about another hour to replace. After 1.5 hours my truck was ready and I was on my way. Thank you Caldwell Toyota for helping me out.

It was 8 1/2 years ago that I bought a New Toyota Highlander from this dealership and I was quite happy with my purchasing experience back then (and very happy with their service dept every time I got the Highlander serviced there too!), so naturally they were on my "short list" this time around as I was ready to trade the Highlander in and purchase a New 4Runner! To be fair (both to myself and the other Toyota dealers in the area) I did shop the deal around a bit....okay - QUITE A BIT !! Out of all the sales people I spoke with, Alan Engert at Caldwell Toyota provided me with best, unbiased information about the New 4Runner, no sales pressure, and in the end - a deal that gave me what I want for the price I wanted to pay.....something that the other dealers just couldn't seem to do, despite the many claims and promises they made - promises that were always broken! Alan once again went the extra mile in making sure all of the dealer-installed options and customizations I purchased were done right and ready for me when I came to pick up the car.....Take note that I used the phrase "once again"....because it was none other than Alan - who I bought the New Highlander from - back in Summer of 2005...and when you think about it, that in itself speaks volumes!

After being more or less pushed around at other dealers the last week or so I found myself at Caldwell Toyota. Immediately I felt way more comfortable then I had at other dealers. Pressure was not being put on me at all, instead we found a Rav-4 with options similar to what I was looking for. I was not up sold on anything. The salesmen was very respectful and did not make me feel pressure to have to buy that moment. Once it came time to talk money I felt just as relaxed. Caldwell Toyota is an old-fashioned dealership in that they still say "they have to go talk to their manager" before giving you a price quote and use the old paper forms with descriptions that you cannot understand. That notwithstanding they are by far the best dealership to work with within 50 miles. Their customer service is excellent and the salesperson we worked with, Chris Zak, is calm, pleasant and very easy to work with. He does not pressure and always took time to explain everything. We also found the finance manager Jim Velsor easy to work with. Neither of them tried to sell us anything we didn't want and didn't waste our time.We don't know if we received the best price we could since no other Toyota dealer we contacted would be willing to provide us with an online quote. We provided a detailed request for a price for a Highlander with specific options to 5 Toyota dealers and not one would provide a quote online. They all wanted us to "stop in for a test drive. "or "stop by to check out their "specials". Not sure why Toyota makes the comparison process so difficult. We also looked at Audi's and Acura's and most of the dealers had internet sales and were more than willing to provide quotes through email.If we had not worked with Chris and Jim at Caldwell Toyota we would have given up and purchased something other than a Toyota.

Oliver Laroc actually uses SHOUTY capitals when you make website inquiries on vehicles because he stands behind the quotes the sales staff provides. The certified master sales consultant at Toytota Caldwell who assisted me in buying a new vehicle, Alan Engert, was very knowledgeable and thorough. Most important, however, he exhibited the qualities I value most when shopping for a vehicle: fairness, transparency, and honesty. Alan made it very clear that he valued my business by doing everything he could, within reason, to meet my requests. Alfredo Fabregas, the finance and insurance manager, was similarly trustworthy. I fully expected, as I've experienced at other dealerships, an aggressive "won't take no for an answer" sales pitch. Instead of using attrition, it was refreshing to be respected for my point of view. Alfredo listened attentively, sought to understand my lifestyle, and then asked me if I was interested in, or had any questions about, additional coverage options. The recommendations he gently shared with me were greatly appreciated because they were based on the experience of his customers. I commend Toyota Caldwell and its sales department for exemplifying a philosophy that puts consumers' needs first ahead of their own interests. We haven't purchased a car in almost 10 years. We first went to a Honda dealer to look at an Odyssey, but no only was the car lacking in basic functionality (e.g., you can't get into the car to strap your kids into car seats and you can't access the 3rd row if you have 2 car seats), but the salesmen and business men had little knowledge about car features and promotions and they were not friendly or considerate. We were very frustrated. Although Toyota is not a brand we have ever had before, we went to the Toyota dealer to look at the Sienna. We are VERY glad that we did! I purchased a 2012 Camry hybrid demo car. I made two visits, the first explaining that I was comparing various brand hybrids. Elio, the sales consultant was not pushy, but was knowledgable, and very helpful and informative on both visits. He spent as much time as we desired, took us for test drives of both the Prius and the demo Camry hybrids, explaining the systems available in both cars in great detail. When we purchased the demo, he again spent as much time as we needed to go over the car's systems again, how they worked, explain service arrangements, and took time to set up the radio, demonstrate the navigation system, explain the SOS system, and sync our phones to Bluetooth. The dealership manager also spent time to again go over dealership servicing agreements, warranties, dealership hours, etc. Finally, Elio invited us to return within a week or two with any questions we might have, to review the car's systems again in case we had forgotten anything, and to conduct any system set ups that we might have difficulty completing.

I would give this car dealership a 0 if the rating system allowed it! I recently went with my daughter to Toyota of Morristown and had the best experience imaginable. I couldn't believe I was in a car dealership. This was on the heels of, a day earlier, the worst experience I ever had with Toyota of Caldwell. They did a classic bait and switch with a quoted price "out the door". Evidently they had no idea what this term meant bc they started piling over $1500 onto the quoted price. They weren't even conciliatory or apologetic about the ordeal they put us through. They were rude and even arrogant, it was that bad. The experience left me livid and my daughter in tears. Caldwell Toyota should be embarrassed and ashamed of their old fashioned get em in And screw em approach to sales.At Toyota of Morristown I asked to speak directly with a sales manager as I didn't want to get tossed around from salesman to salesman to manager Like I was t Caldwelll Toyota. I was greeted warmly by the owner of Morristown Toyota and we quickly settled on a very fair and reasonable price for my daughter's 2013 RAV4. The salesman who drew up the paperwork was no less polite and helpful. Even the finance manager was super, and we wound up buying some add-ons at a nicely reduced price. Another young fellow even assembled my grandson's car seat and installed it in the new car. I couldn't have asked for a better experience at Toyota of Morristown -- forthright, honest, Sensitive and everything else that Caldwell Toyota wasn't. I will buy again from Toyota of Morristown!

I went there for oil change service last week. And this week I had to change my brakes and rotars ($500) as they did not check brakes and alert me last week. this is totally ridiculous!. they don't spend time to explain what service is pending and anything that i need to take of soon to minimize additional damage to the vehicle. I would have saved rotars($200) if they would have alerted me well in advance or at the least last week. I cannot trust these people anywhere..

I bought a car (Highlander) from Caldwell Toyota in 2005 and brought it there for service on numerous occasions. From the day 1 my experience with this dealership was extremely favorable. Alan Engert (in sales) was terrific to work with - the best product knowledge in the business and no "you gotta buy now" pressure! He took the time to understand my lifestyle and gave me great advice on which options to buy and which not to buy. I got a great deal on the vehicle with everything I wanted. In the 7 years since then, I serviced the car many times at this dealership. They were always great when it came to getting me an appointment at or near the time I requested. I never had to bring the car back for any faulty work and the service techs and manager always told me exactly what needed to be done and even offered to show me the steps they took along the way.Now that 7 years has passed by and I was interested in trading my Highlander in for the current year's model, Alan (who was still there ==> that speaks volumes in itself- doesn't it!) was great to deal with again! Once you have purchased a car at this dealership - you become invisible in the service department. I purchased a Toyota Camry Hybrid in 2010 and received service vouchers for free regular maintenance. Scheduling the service was not a problem. The problem with this service department are the people behind the service desk. I would bring my car in on Friday afternoon at about 4-5pm to have it serviced first thing on Saturday morning. I was told I would receive a call to tell me it was ready. I never received a call on any of the 6 visits. In fact, they do not answer their phones on Saturday morning citing that they are too busy and understaffed. When I went to get the car, someone would help me after a 20-30 min wait and say "you're all set". There was never any review of what was done or what was serviced - they just hand you the form and your keys. Obviously, they were too busy to explain what was done to my car.WOULD NOT RECOMNMEND SERVICE HERE!!!!

I found this used 08 Acura MDX from this dealer, salesperson not even give you a warm welcome. after we discussed the price and agreed and put a deposit, then they treat you like cr*p. wasn't honest about the condition of the car, extra fees like "window etching, dealer fee, and frabication fee, which they won't tell you about until you do the purchasing contract with them. I will not consider going to this dealer again. AND BEAWARE, DO NOT PUT DEPOSIT IF YOU ARE NOT ASOLULATELY SURE TO PURCHASE THE CAR AND SEE THE FINAL CHARGES ON PAPER. IT IS VERY HARD TO GET IT BACK. I am still waiting for my refund for a week after they told me it will be done the next day after the deal broken.

This place is a ripoff. I feel like I was totally taken advantage of for my recent brake service. I just reviewed my receipt in detail and I am dumbfounded. They charged me $159 per rotor. a quick google search of the OEM part# shows MSRP of $152, purchase price $110 at toyotapartszone.com. So obviously the dealer gets them for even less than $110. I can't believe they actually charged me higher than MSRP! Again, the brake pads kit MSRP $76, online price $55. They charged me $92!!!! I immediately complained at the counter when he quoted me the price because I had a gut feeling it shouldn't be nearly that expensive, but I unfortunately I didnt have this knowledge to back me up, and with my tight schedule I didnt have the luxury of driving off and shopping around elsewhere. The only good thing was I had a 10% off coupon from dealercoupons.com (which I just noticed they didn't even apply to the labor charge(!), they only applied it to the parts charge, and it barely covers the NJ state sales tax anyways). I'm thinking if they had no qualms about ripping me off with these parts prices, maybe I didn't even need new rotors after all, they probably could've been machined. Also, their waiting room is lousy. There are no vending machines and the water fountain was out of service. it was a painful 3.5+ hours. Bottom line, AVOID this dealership like the plague. At least I learned my lesson though; next time i go for any service (somewhere else), I will be sure to research the actual price for parts ahead of time. I only hope these online review sites gain popularity so the bad dealers lose enough business and are forced to improve their service & prices.

First they sent me an email with a quote in all different sized fonts. They said window etching was an absolute necessary fee even though i knew it wasn't and had things in fine print in the e-mail that showed signs of sleezyness.I go in to work out a deal on the vehicle i want and agree on a price.. I stressed the matter over and over and over and over. IS THIS THE ABSOLUTE FINAL PRICE? and after numerous gareentee's that it was, i sign the paperwork and wait for the call about financing rates. I call them the next day and mentioned that i didn't see the destination fee that they kept including on other quotes.. and i said are you sure this price i signed for is the final price? and they said yes. So after another day from not hearing word about the financing situation i go there. and they said they made a mistake and have to add an 800 dollar fee to my purchase... I was infuriated after stressing how much i wanted a final out the door cost before i signed anything and said no deal. they took my paper work and threw it out. I stormed out very disappointed.. My parents also went to this store and they said noone even talked to them or offered any service while they waited until they got fed up and left.So a week goes by and i notice a deposit charge pop up on my credit card from them. i send 3+ e-mails and called about 5 times requesting that they refund my deposit. They never replied back in the e-mails and each time i called they said they would call me back with an answer and never did. so a few days later i went to the store to demand my refund in the middle of my work day and they had 5-6 salesman trying to get me to settle on an offer. i repeatedly told them in was in a hurry and just want my deposit back. after 30-45 minutes of waiting and argueing that led to me screaming and cursing. finally a manager comes out and apoligizes and says he has the refund marked up right here but before i take it he wanted to know if he split the difference on the additional fee's they forgot about if i would take the vehicle. i was ready start throwing things at that point and screamed no in numerous ways until they finally agreed to give me my money back and i stormed out and rushed back to work very late. it was a horrible experience and i would advise to have absolutely nothing to do with them. they wasted my time, and they were very dishonest.

This is the Best Dealership we have ever bought a vehicle from. On top of the extremely nice dealership, the staff make it truly an enjoyable experience to purchase a vehicle.We just purchased a used 2008 Sequoia, and Chip Hunley was our salesman and he was Great, he was especially helpful in helping my wife find what vehicle she wanted and would need as we have a baby on the way. I have been trying to get her to decide on a vehicle for the last year and Chip helped her weigh her choices and had a vehicle picked in 30min. I went to buy a new Toyota Prius. I drove from Selinsgrove, PA to West Caldwell, NJ (3.5 hrs) to buy this vehicle that I had done hours of research. The reason to go to this specific dealership was that they had the only color (Red) with advanced technology option in the North East region. I got to the dealership at 9am test drove the prius and loved it. Neil gave me the pricing of the car and financing options. Although prius was on financing options (2.9%) APR as I found out from their dealership in harrisburg, PA. He mentioned that I had to financee it 5-6% range. He didn't know he was dealing with a finance major! After I negotiated with him, he agreed to finance the car to 2.9% APR. he made me wait until about 2pm and finally told me that I can't get the car that day. the reason was that he couldn't rip me off as he (might?) have done others in financing. I strongly suggest that you do not waste your time in this dealership because you will get treated like crap. Neil was really rude and was not professional.

SINCE IT WAS EVENING AND I HAD ANOTHER ENGAGEMENT, I TOLD THEM I WILL BE BACK MONDAY NIGHT FOR THE 2010 V-6 VENZA. I had been using a chain service center for previous normal auto maintenance.I wanted to try a local Toyota dealer so I brought my 2003 Corolla for a mechanical inspection to Caldwell Toyota. Their service said I needed repairs. They replaced front brake rotors, pads, disc brake, resurfaced rear drums, and replaced serpintine belt and v belt. After Toyota's service, brakes squealed in reverse. After 3 attempts by Toyota,rear brake replacement by Toyota and total cost of $1051.66, brakes still squeal. I'll see them in court.

I went to the Caldwell Toyota dealership in West Caldwell, NJ to test drive a 2009 Corolla XRS (VIN: 2T1BE40EX9C011930) on April 24, 2008 and was greeted by a shady salesman named Larry. I was told that since it was after 7:30PM I could not test drive the car. Therefore, I returned the next day and was greeted by a nice helpful young man named Mario. We went for a test drive and he was very helpful. After our test drive we were forced to deal with Larry as we were his "up" as Mario explained, since Larry had greeted us the prior day.After some negotiation he returns and tells us that he "accidentally" gave us a lower cost ($22600) and monthly payment of $289-310/month. The new price was about $50 off the $25323 MSRP (an increase of over $2000). Then our monthly payment was changed to $489-540/month up from $289-310 with $3000 down payment. This was even before a credit check was ever made!! Next a sales manager name Ralph Mosely, a rather large man (6'3") with one white eye, came over and in a angry and nasty tone told Larry to get up from the desk and he would "handle this." He proceeded to give a false apology and was very rude with me. He told me that he could never give me the car for the original price as it would have amounted to $17000 for the car. However, this was incorrect as Larry had already shown me earlier that the original offer price with the "allegedly wrong" pricing was $22600. Calling Ralph out on this lie infuriated him and he became very aggressive- to the point that I thought he was going to hit me! He snapped at me and told me to tell him what I wanted to pay. I offered $21500- a fair mark up from my original offer of $19500- mind you this was negotiation- I knew very well that it was a low price and expected him to lower merely his price a little (less than $1000). He told me that the price was way too low and I told him that it was well over his "mistaken calculation" of $17000- if that was what he honestly thought I was naive enough to believe. I told him that I am a numbers guy and he would have to do better with the "correct price" and not try to tell me that the numbers which both I and Larry knew had added up to $22600, were actually adding up to $17000. At this point he exploded in anger and shot up out of his seat saying "you know what- I will do you a favor" and reached out his hand to me. I expected him to grab me as he reached for my arm, instead he grabbed my hand and forced me to give him a handshake- saying "negotiation over, there's the door." I stared at him in disbelief as he stared angrily at me, chest pushed out and hands clenched. I then turned and shook hands with the nice young salesman who originally helped me, Mario, and thanked him for his help and left. As I walked to my car, which was parked right outside the large plate glass window were the desk was located, Ralph, the sales manager, began shouting at this staff and pointing at me menacingly through the window. And why? At no point during my time at the dealership did I act aggressively or inappropriately, I merely acted as a professional and how I would treat a fellow professional in a business transaction. And in return I was not only rudely treated by this dealership, which has the audacity to claim in ads that it is ranked #1 in customer satisfaction and then try not only to raise the price on me, but also kicked me out of the show room when I questioned the sales manager's incorrect calculations. I expect more from a Toyota dealership and am now considering purchasing my vehicle from a Honda or Mazda dealership, as their dealerships treated me fairly and in a friendly manner And the best part of this? Well I had visited this local dealership because it claims in ads that it is ranked #1 in customer satisfaction! Good luck if you decide to purchase here, and Caveat emptor (buyer beware)!!

I had a great experience at this dealer. I found it was not a high pressure dealer. The salesperson was a great guy (Jim) , I enjoyed my stay there. I normally hate buying cars. Once I made the deal here I was in and out. The finance guy was fast and efficient. The service department has to be one of the best around in customer service. The truth is, I was so happy that I bought another car there. I would recommend this dealership to anyone.

Only dealer in my area that would actually give me numeric quote..as opposed to how much so you want your payments.Signed a deal with them and told them to tell me wehn the vehicle would be ready. Got no calls. Called every day for a week until they said it is here. i would have been satified with an I don't know, call me in a weekI planned to pick up Saturday morn. No problem? I got there at 8. They did not have it prepped. I was there until 12:30. The price was good but the sales guy was a dummy..made a simple easy deal a painful aggravating process.The regular service dept is good though.
