Called in to inquire about a new Honda Pilot, as I have done my research and was ready to buy. The sales Rep. had a bad attitude and no clue what a good customer service is all about. Not a good way to earn business. Now i understand the low rating for this dealership. Moving on, definitely was not encouraging to pay them a visit.

Chris O Connell is the rudest, most unprofessional salesman, I have ever dealt with. He lied to me on the phone about working out the pricing of my trade in and the purchase of a new car. Chris O Connell stated, "I can work on the price, if you are here with your checkbook." We had a $500.00 difference, which he stated, "$500.00 is not a deal breaker for us" The truth is Chris had no intention of honoring he word and only cared about the money he would be making. I will never return to this dealership, they could care less about their customers or ever having future business from a customer. By the way, Chris O Connell makes fun of our reviews, he believes he is untouchable and our opinions don't mean anything!

Was "lured" to this dealership from Monterey under the guise that they had a "special program" for customers who pass other dealerships and buy from them. Get there and not only do they not have the car I wanted, but no such "special program' exists. They then showed me basically sticker price deals they could offer. What a waste of my time. Simply left and went to Sam Linder Honda in Salinas. BEST selection of Hondas, BEST salesperson (Gloria), and BEST prices!! Went home in my new Accord last night. Avoid this dealership and head to Sam Linder in Salinas.

Ken was my sales man. He was great to work with. I told him I wanted this to be a smooth process and he made it so. The dealership is in a great location. It's clean and very open. Ken worked very hard to locate the car we were looking for. He found it and made arrangements for it to be delivered the next day. In the mean time I came in to get the paperwork going. The car was for my wife. All she had to do was take delivery of the vehicle. Ken spent the time to educate her on the vehicle's features. My wife LOVEs the car. In fact I like it as well and maybe someday I'll go back and get a new car too! I recommend that you check out Ocean Honda.

We are fourth time returning customers. Although we got good service on the previous visits, we should of been working with Ken Wyllie. Ken made the process of leasing a new car for my wife easy and FUN!. I realize that everyone is bound to have different experiences but from my point of view its all about attitude, specially your own. Ken really listened to us and made our requests be heard. I had an excellent experience at Ocean Honda. I was referred to them by my mother that had bought a car from them. It was my first time buying a Honda. Eddie did a great job showing us the cars we were interested in without the usual huge sales pitch that you can get when you walk onto a car lot. I felt he listened to what we were wanting for our family and was very helpful but not pushy. We left the lot and went home and did our homework and came back the next day to buy the car. The whole process went so smooth, from the sales department to the financing. The last car we purchased from another dealer the process took 5-6 hours. This process took 2, which I feel for buying a car is great. I would highly recommend Ocean Honda to anyone looking for a new vehicle.

I've never owned a Honda and was looking to trade in my large "Soccer Mom" SUV for a more economical and fuel efficient car that would still be reliable and safe for me and my two young boys. I have to admit I definitely went in more apprehensive than excited and wasn't sure what would happen, it is a car dealership after all and one that I haven't had any previous experience with. Steve and his team put me at ease, answered all of my questions and definitely made this an enjoyable car buying experience. I would recommend him to anybody and hope that my future visits to Ocean Honda for regular maintenance on my new Accord are as pleasant as the car buying experience turned out to be!!

Worked with Alejandro Restrepo to find a used vehicle to suit my needs. He was great- answered questions well, knew details on various models (such as gas mileages, warranty offers, safety features), was not pushy or aggressive, did not try to talk me into buying a more expensive car than I wanted to, allowed lots of time to ask questions, think about options, and called me to let me know when there was a new shipment of used cars available to choose from. Very friendly and personable. Also worked w/ Jason in finance, and he made sure I was informed about options, what I was accepting, and what I was declining (in terms of extended warranties). Overall, this experience from start to finish took far less time and haggling than I expected, and I would recommend Ocean Honda to others.

BUYER BEWARE! I like few things less than unethical business practices such as corporate financial calculations and algorithms that rationalize financial gain at the expense of sleazy, dishonest, or bad will gestures. This dealership has destroyed its credibility. Their corporate greed is clearly misrepresented by this outlandish excerpt from the "Honda Philosophy" touted in Honda's online corporate profile: "The joy of selling occurs when those who are engaged in selling and servicing Honda products develop relationships with a customer based on mutual trust." Yet, when I loyally brought in my Honda Pilot for a routine oil change today as always, based on that "mutual trust," I learned that this dealership would no longer be honoring the $9.95 lifetime oil change commitment it made when I purchased my car here a couple of years ago (and that it routinely made to all it's customers at the time). Clearly, they know better than to damage customer trust (ref. their "philosophy") but choose to behave otherwise for financial gain. So...a word to the wise: take your business elsewhere. This dealer has chosen to patently dishonor the terms of it's sales contracts. Since this Dealership has reneged on the $9.95 oil change contracts it made in order to make their sales, I will take my car elsewhere for future service, and purchase future vehicles for the five drivers in my family elsewhere. This dealership's and Honda's reputation have been ruined for me now. On a slightly different note, having worked in sales and customer service for many years, I can say it's a total drag to work for a corporation that makes sleazy, calculated business decisions like this, after hardworking sales and customer service people put their personal reputations on the line with customers only to have their professional reputations disgraced by unethical corporate decisions like this.

I had been shopping for a used Honda all summer and lots of the dealerships were extremely pushy and overwhelming. As a woman, I sometimes felt that the car guys were ganging up on me, trying to push me into buying. Then, I went to Ocean Honda. It was a completely different experience, start to finish. The people were all amazing and friendly. No one tried to bully me into buying. They let me drive the car and then come back to "think about it." When I was ready to discuss a deal, we did not play the "Let me check with my manager game" and we agreed on a price immediately. They were all professional and made me feel extremely comfortable with my decision. After I purchased the car, they asked me how I would get it home, which I hadn't really figured out yet. They OFFERED to deliver it to me, 40 miles away! It was brought to my home the next day, no problem. My salesman, Bill, called me a few days later to make sure everything was working out ok. When I realized that my car was missing the antennae, I contacted him and it was delivered 2 days later. It was, by far, the best car buying experience I have ever had and I highly recommend them to anyone!

Emailed them for there best price on a vehicle. Got the same response as other person who wrote their review, Chris asked me to call him. Really??, If I wanted to call, I would not have spent time shopping and emailing online. After all the talk and email back and forth, All I got from this want to make a sale person was to apply online and then we can try to work something out eventhough he knew from the beginning he was not going to give me what I was looking for. And why apply online? Why could I not apply right over the phone with him since he did ask me to call him?? Because he did not want to spend time.Stay away from here unless you want to waste time and you like getting ripped off. Chris was no help and had no interest in helping. After he finally said he would not do the deal after he ran my credit, he had the auacity to then try to sell me a lease on a new Civic when he did not want to work on the deal I wanted...Sorry I ever looked at this dealer..Can't understand how he is still working there.

Shopping for a new Odyssey, went to a dealership in the bay area got a deal I liked, so I called Ocean Honda (my local dealer) and asked them if they would match the deal I would come there to buy the Odyssey. The only reason I called Ocean Honda, is that I live in Santa Cruz, and would have liked to keep my money local. Once I got to Ocean Honda, I was given a completely different price. I was shocked! Not only did they not honor the price match, I was then told I was a BullShi**er!!! I'm read to spend 40k and the General Manager (John Monteleone) of the store is yelling at me and calling me a BSer. I HAD THE OFFER IN WRITING!I would and could not recommend this Dealership to anyone with a little self respect.

I recently purchased a new Honda Fit. I typically do not go into dealerships because I do not like the pressure to buy a car. Fortunately, I was greeted by Konstantine Velikov. I explained the car I was interested in and he took me out for a test drive in the Honda Fit I was interested in. No pressure to buy. He simply wanted to find the car and style I was interested in. When I did decide to purchase, he informed me of the low interest incentive Honda had going. He was very positive when discussing the price I wanted to pay and the value of the car I was trading in. It was generally a very positive experience and I am very happy with the car.

a brand new CRV 13 needed to be repaired 4 times already? The buying process was good, the salesman promised "you wont have to worry about car repairs for at least 3 years" The fixing and dealing with the service dept is very frustrating. I got a defective car, and they are telling me "this happens" Make sure you check the spare tire compartment, you may find water My entire family buys cars there, but they wont consider my request, -be careful they may end up scratching your car and will tell you that it was like that before

This review is written more for the salesman than the dealership because I have followed Jeff Winton from Toyota his past employer to Honda his current employer. I have now bought 2 cars from Jeff because he is so wonderful to work with. I always felt like Jeff had my best interest in mind when working with my finances and my family needs. We have bought a mini van and an SUV with his assistance. I just referred my 16 year old son to him for his first car. I never thought buying a car would be a fun experience but with Jeff it's honest, fair, and fun!

In general buying a car is a stressful experience but at Ocean Honda I felt confident and happy about buying a car because Jeff and everyone else were extremely professional and helpful. Even my 6 year old daughter enjoyed the car buying process thanks to Disney movies playing in a clean children's area while she ate a hot dog and fruit. We have a young family of five and our dog makes us six, We had a 2010 Honda Van on lease and Jeff Winton said any time you want it washed feel free to bring it by. I was taking him up on his generous offer one day. Then he suggested that the new design might fit our needs better. After he showed me the new van and gave me a generous trade for the old one, Suddenly I realized I dont need a wash the new one is all clean. When I got home and showed off the new van to the family. I was the Hero. Thank you so much Jeff you really know how to make people feel like family.

I wasn't necessarily looking for a new car by choice, Hwy 17 took my beloved Honda Accord from me, so I know I wasn't the easiest customer. I was still rattled, emotional, mad, sad, etc about the whole ordeal and that my insurance company wouldn't fix my low mileage, paid off Honda that I knew would keep on going! That being said, I met Jeff Winton at Ocean Honda. I wasn't ready to buy yet....felt like I needed to look more....after wearing myself out a bit running to other dealers looking for new and used....I realized that the customer service Jeff was offering along with the price, service, attention...all close to my home [and with free car washes!] was the way to go. When I finally made the decision, the above and beyond customer service still kept rolling in. I was treated with respect, every one of my questions, needs were addressed with patience, tact and professionalism...Jeff and his team treat you like a true client as well as someone they can relate to, understand and assist through this not always easy process. I had a great experience with the Ocean Honda team and feel grateful to have chosen this dealership to buy a used Honda from. A few visits in and out, I ended up with a hybrid 2011 Honda Insight. John Krukowski showed me various cars and went with me to test drive them. His stories and personality made my experience an enjoyable one! John Monteleone and Chris "Oke" O'Connell also helped me with financing and explaining the different options-- as a first time car buyer I was very thankful for this! Rodney was our main contact and he was friendly, competent and honest. He handled the entire purchase process in the most efficient and helpful manner. The other individuals that we interacted with, John and Cali demonstrated the same friendliness and honesty. In getting price quotes from numerous dealers around the state, I found that the one attribute that set Ocean apart from the other dealers was honesty. Every other dealership gave me a selling price that supposedly included all costs except tax and license, as I requested. However, in final negotiations they all tried to slip in inflated documentation fees or some other cost that was simply poorly veiled profit. Ocean was a straight shooter all the way. Their honesty quickly earned my respect and made this the best new car experience I have had.

This was the most blatant bait and switch dealership I ever experienced. Was looking for a specific vehicle. Called Ocean Honda dealership spoke with Internet sales Chris O'Connell - and was told that they have SUV in stock. Asked several times, giving specifics of the car, and stating that I need to pick-it up today. Was told yes, vehicle is in stock. I live in San Jose, 30 miles away. Called again, to confirm that I am leaving, and that car is in stock, and that I am ready to pick it up today. Was told yes, it is. Packed my family ( 2 kids ), drove for 30 miles, experienced kids getting bored and fighting, traffic and curves of HW 17.Upon arriving at the dealership, was greeted by another sales guy, Chris never came out. After 30 minutes of no action, learned that there is no car in stock, and that they are securing it from another dealership.I have Called Chris, to express my disappointment. During the call I mentioned that this dishonest behavior is unacceptable, and will be reported to BBB and yelp. Instead of apology, Chris started pretending to be scared, and I quote oh, no, not Yelp. I have spent 2 hours of my time, 60 miles and 3 gallons - think twice before patronizing this place.

Very bad experience..of all the dealership I called this one has the rudest sales persons.. I spoke to Jeff., very poor suctomer service., very rude.. I will never buy nor recommend this dealership.. If there is a negative score I would give it to this dealership.

I can't wait to share my experience with others. Never go here as it seems that if you don't have a solid credit rating these people, managers Chris and Alejandro {Alex} who are so unprofessional in my opinion will try their best to get as much money out of you as possible for their own pockets. I don't believe all salespersons have the same low integrity. I am employed as middle school teacher about an hour away from Santa Cruz, the city in which I live and where these 2 predators do well at contributing to the bad rep. car dealerships get. I plan to search places that review car dealerships to warn others to stay away.
