This is my 2nd time in 3 years purchasing a Cherokee from this dealership. My first Cherokee's lease had come up so I made a service appointment and sales appointment to explore my lease-end options. Everyone at this dealership truly listens and goes that extra mile. Service on my last Cherokee was always a pleasurable experience and expect it to continue to be with the new one. Both buying experiences were great. They really go that extra mile to get you in a vehicle you are comfortable with while keeping in mind your budget. It is really a zero pressure experience. I will continue to go to Nielsen for all my Chrysler/Jeep needs.

After contacting many dealerships I can surely have capacity to provide a fair review of the services provided by this dealership. Let me start with the contact, I spoke with Al, very profession and sincerely keen to have me as a client, I felt that I was cared for at this first instance. In less than 30 minutes he managed to get a deal that I was looking for. On the same day they arranged for someone to pick me up and take me to the dealership to see the car and discuss the details. This person was Joe, great guy also keen to make sure everything is taken care of, mostly important he made the whole process to feel painless and quick. For documentation I spoke with Tom (pls don't be scared of the number of people I dealt with, trust me they are very well coordinated and things do progress quickly!), true gentlemen and gave me the details to finalize the deal. Managed to lease the car in less than 3 hours. Took the car home and noticed that there was something wrong with it... a brand new car... well it can happen and here comes the truth on how this dealership helps and support their clients. Joe introduce me to Roland on the servicing dept, he was very diligent and keen to help to find a way to sort out the issue with the car, unfortunately it was more complicated than we imagined. Roland wasted not time in making sure that I could have another car until they did further investigation. I was getting concerned but they were doing their best to support. Even the Sales Manager - Rick got involved to assist with the resolution. They all work as a team to get the issue sorted, therefore here is my thanks to Joe, Al, Tom, Roland and Rick.

One of the best experiences I have ever had with a car purchase. No nonsense. Showed me what I wanted to see. Alex was very respectful of our time crunch during our initial visit and did not try to keep us there beyond our short availability. This lead us back a few days later. Along with some help from Eli, we walked out with a great deal on a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Negotiation was pleasant. Communication was excellent as well.

What a beautiful new drive through and they gave me a free tread depth sheet on my tires and explained to me what it meant.The service was done onetime and without a hitch and the high speed balance they did was perfect and my Jeep rides beautiful. Ended up shopping only. Was genuinely interested but went with a competing brand that offers CPO leases with truly unbeatable terms, due to the CPO element. However!.... Having head an exceptionally bad experience at another dealer (Route 4 in Paramus, NJ) I was jaded against the Chrysler brands sales channel altogether. In returning an expired lease (2014 Grand Cherokee Limited) Nielsen was a logical choice due to proximity. Duane, (and Bernadine) was truly pleasant to deal with. During negotiations as part of business, I never -not for a single second- felt or suspected that I needed to be watchful. The Nielsen team's character becomes evident after walking the showroom for a few minutes, as is the customer servicing attitude of the support personnel. Both suggest that the culture permeating through the ranks in this business is one of integrity and respect for its members, passed on not only to its paying customers but as my experience suggests, to its shoppers as well. Thanks again guys.

I just purchased a 2017 Jeep Cherokee with the help of Joe Alfano. Joe was able to get me out of my current obligation on a BMW and got me into the exact car that I wanted. Purchased my car here and took it in for 6k mile tile rotation and oil. Left it there for the day. Upon pick up, I noticed my tires were not rotated (I had a unique scuff mark on 1 tire from the day before and the tire was in the same place.) I questioned it to Jennifer and she said to come back when the service was open again because she only knows what they tell her. I came back and she said they'll get it in for a rotation. I asked if they can provide an explanation as to why it wasn't done the first visit and she seemed dumbfounded that I'd even ask. In the end, I got no explanation for having to make another trip out there but they rotated my tires quickly as I requested (Otherwise it would have been 1 star for Jennifer instead of 2). My observations: 1. If your car is brand new, they'll the cut corners on the routine/preventative maintenance. I'm now questioning if my oil was even changed. This is a management/supervisory issue. 2. I'm enrolled in the Jeep Wave program which gives me 5 free oil/tire rotations. After this last visit, I'll be going to another dealer to gladly pay for my service and have the confidence it's being completed. My family's safety isn't worth whatever corner-cutting is going on there.

"NO" Service Department

Nielsen Dodge has in my opinion, the worst service department ever! When you bring a vehicle there its like going into the Bermuda Triangle, it goes in and you never know if it is going to come out. Calling for information is just as bad, you leave a message for the service advisor and that message gets lost never to be seen again. So when you call back you dare not leave a message so you have to wait on hold for your service advisor since you know that they do return calls. When they finally pick up the phone, they still dont have any answers. The have to check with a mechanic but he is either out to lunch, paperwork is lock in his tool box or their dog ate work order. Excuses, excuses, excuses that all they are good for. Do yourself a favor and bring your vehicle to another Dodge dealership for service. I was so frustrated that I called the service manager and its been almost a whole day and no return phone call. Thanks Nielsen! I will do everything in my power to go somewhere else for service.I had to bring another truck to this shop. What a mistake!!! The truck has been in the shop 21 days again. When I spoke to the service advisor last week she said it should be done on Friday. Of course I did not hear back from her or anyone with an update and now its Tuesday. This is my second call back today and no one answers in the service department (service that's a joke, it should be the "no" service department), finally the call just drops.I am literally am banging my head against the wall. NO ONE ANSWERS THE DAM PHONE HERE!!!!!!!!!! AGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. LAST TIME. I just wish I could give negative stars.

Anthony Dangelo helped me finance my Honda Civic and he was great! I'm only 22 with not much credit history besides student loans and no cosigner. But he did everything he could to help me drive off the lot with my new car and I couldn't be more thankful. Without him, I wouldn't have a car! After I bought the car, there was a minor issue with the tire pressure sensor and it was a hassle and a lot of rescheduling with the body shop to get it fixed. Because of this, I couldn't pass my inspection so I was driving around with no inspection for almost a month! When I went to pick up my official plates, I asked Anthony if he could help me get my car fixed that same day since I live far from the dealership and didn't have an appointment for over another week! He managed to squeeze me in without an appointment, he guided me to people he knew would assist me, and I was in and out in under an hour! He really goes out of his way to give his customers the best service there. I'd give him a 10 out of 5 if I could!

This was how I felt after the experience I had with Nielsen's on rt 10 East Hanover, NJ. This is my first brand new car and I love it. There was a slight problem with it so I brought it to the service dept. I understand the wait time for scheduling an appointment, but when the problem doesn't get fixed and the vehicle is returned to you with a scratch and dirtied, you should be able to rescheduled right away and have these issues remedied. I felt like I had brought my puppy to a really bad day care. The staff doesn't give you the confidence that they know what they are doing nor do they treat you like someone who is of value to their business.

Service Department does not return calls. Left two messages for Manny, service manager and he did not have courtesy to event return any of my calls. My car was at the dealership for several days for the repair and nobody calls back with the status. I made several attempt to contact and if I reach Roland he never had any answer about my car. Today I leased a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The purchase of the vehicle took a tremendous amount of time and required my wife and I to spend hours in the dealership. After finally finishing up the paperwork, I took the car home only to find that the button to automatically close the trunk did not work. I immediately drove the vehicle back to the dealership. When I entered the dealership requesting to speak with the salesman that sold me the car (Anthony Dangelo), I was told that he was on break so they found me another sales representative to speak to. This new sales rep walked out to the car, looked at the problem, and told me to drive around back to the service department. I drove the car around to the service department and it took about a half hour to find someone to come and fix the problem. The service department was able to fool around with some of the wires and eventually fix the problem. There are several reasons why I am upset with the way this situation has been handled. As I am writing this review, the salesman who sold me the car (Anthony) has STILL not reached out to find out what the reason for my return to the dealership was. In my opinion, Anthony should have immediately followed up with me to make sure that everything was OK with my new purchase. I also feel that since the car was BRAND NEW, I should not have been told to drive the vehicle to the service department. One of the employees should have had that taken care of immediately. No one should drive home with a brand new car and have to return to the dealership ten minutes later because something is not working properly. What upsets me the most is the fact that once Jeep had made this sale, I was no longer treated as a priority. The mechanical issue with the car now became my problem, just minutes after purchasing it. This was very poor customer service and it was extremely disappointing to have an encounter like this occur.In addition to the problem with the trunk, I have just realized that my car is not fit for a license plate in the front. Because I live in NJ, I need both a license plate in the front AND the back. Again, I am going to have to make a trip back to the dealership so that they can resolve this problem.I am extremely disappointed with not only the mechanical issues with the car, but also the very poor customer service I have received after the car was purchased when attending Nielsen Jeep in East Hanover, NJ. I will surely not be returning, nor will I be recommending this dealership to others.

I am thankful I found this dealership and ignored the pleas of others to never use the dealers service center. These guys are fantastic. My car always feel like it's a new model when they're done and they don't fleece you. Too often I've shown up with my non-issue and they pat me on the head and send me away advising me to return when there's a real problem. I know my brakes would have been serviced and "rotors cut" way more often than would have been necessary with another shop. Roland and Kathy do an excellent job in the front office. I gave facilities a n/a since they are under construction.

I made an appointment 1.5 to 2 weeks in advance. I bought my vehicle in on the 23rd before 9am. The service writer Erin, seem to have an attitude when I dropped it off (first flag and I should have went to the other service writer who received the great reviews). But, I gave her a chance. I was told that I would receive a call later on and she stated that they might not get to my vehicle that day which I didn't understand. But I was leaving town to go on vacation so I didn't think it would be a problem, but was I in for a shock. She called me before the end of business day and said she assigned it to a person and he would be getting on it first thing in the morning. So no call on the 24th. I called the morning of the 25th, and she told me they were waiting on my warranty company to send out a rep to inspect my vehicle. I found this very odd when I wasn't informed of anything nor gave an oral approval. So I called my warranty company and they said this wasn't true and they found it odd that I didn't get a call first. So I called to speak to the manager Manny, who told me he would look into it and give me a call back. No call at all from him. So I called Mrs Erin, back which I got her voice mail. So my fiance called and asked for Manny, which I spoke to him via 3way and asked him what was going on and why didn't I receive a call back. He said he forgot and he will hit me back in 15mins. I waited an hour and I called back and demanded my vehicle. Which this is now the 27th. I would never recommend this place to anyone and please STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Upon stepping on the grounds of this dealership, there stood an array of vehicles. I already had an idea of what type of vehicle I was looking for and it took me all of five minutes to decide on the vehicle of my choice. Purchased a "certified preowned" 2012 Charger recently on a friday. Prior to a test drive, I inspected the car. Within minutes, I find the hood release is dangling down by the ebrake pedal, coolant was barely visible in the coolant overflow, and the oil dip stick had been broken off in the tube leading to the motor, along with several scratches that werw half heartedly touched up. Decided to test drive the vehicle anyway. Had a "rubbing" sound at low mph to the left, and the wheel was off to the right but pulled left. We strike a deal anyway as I was promised everything would be taken care of. I inform the salesman that I want the coolant topped off prior to leaving. I leave the car there for about 2hrs to handle whatever issues they had to take care of, and finish paperwork. I received the car with nothing done, and find the fog light out. I take the car for the weekend as is. I arrived Monday with a list of issues, A/C not working, drivers headlight and fog light out, alignment issue, vibration at highway speeds, and the previous issues mentioned. I leave with a loaner for 3 days. When I returned, there's still no sign of coolant, and the rubbing issue continues, along with the headlight going out again. Back for service again for the headlight and alignment. All is done and as I'm handed keys I'm handed a pamphlet for body work. The tech accidentally scratched the front bumper while being serviced. It happens, but what else am I going to run into at this dealership? It's apparent the certified preowned work done on the car wasn't thorough, and had many issues sitting on the lot as if they hoped the waxed black paint and shiny chrome wheels would suffice and keep the new owner out of their hair. Well, out of 11 days of ownership, it's been in for service for 4. I received the car back, and now the heated/cooled cup holders don't work. Minimal, but they were working prior to the delivery for service that day. So now I'm left with body work and a few other things that need to be taken care of. This dealership prides themselves on NOT being a car wash and oil change type of dealership, but that's basically what I got for a price they wouldn't budge on. For a car that was "certified" it sure does have a lot of issues and the dealerships quality of work is questionable at best. I've called twice and asked for the dealerships general manager to return my call to no avail. What I did get was the body shop manager (I assume). That doesn't suffice. Yesterday I received a call that my registration and license plates that were transferred from my trade in are available. Today, the plates are no where to be found. Still waiting to hear back from them. So here I sit, waiting to schedule another appointment, questioning the dealerships competency. I'm hoping to have this car handled properly over the next few weeks and never have to go back for any serious work. My father planned to purchase a new durango here, but no longer will based on the reviews on here and with my personal experience. Hope anyone that reads this takes this as a lesson learned and it helps them make an educated decision when purchasing their car from this dealership.

This was the 1st dealership I've been to and didn't feel pressured. They're very straight forward, to the point ,and let's make a deal type negotiater.
