This is my 4th purchase from Nelson Mazda. My car of choice is the Mazda brand. I have always interested in the Miata and decided to purchase one. I went into the dealership and worked with the sales person Jake Woodruff. He listened to what I wanted. Although they didn't have exactly what I wanted they did have a model that I liked. It was nice to walk into the dealership and see familiar faces. Jake was extremely helpful in the purchase process. After the sale Jake kept in touch with me to make sure everything was good. He even scheduled my first service appt. Since I am writing this review I will gives a thumbs up to Geoff in the service department. He and the other service advisors are part of the reason I continue to come back to Nelson Mazda.

My wife and I recently bought a vehicle from Nelson Mazda and had a great experience. All of the staff and managers were helpful, and we were very pleased with our salesperson, Dallas! We never felt pushed or rushed to make a decision, and in my experience that's the key to being able to make a good decision when buying a vehicle. They were very helpful in accommodating our two kids while we were there and helped us with anything we needed. Would definitely recommend Nelsa Mazda!

I bought a new Mazda from Nelson Mazda (twice actually, but I'll focus on the most recent purchase) in June of 2015 and I am still happy with my decision. Patrick was always friendly and willing to do whatever needed to make the process smooth. We probably took longer than we should have when my wife saw a color she liked better at the last minute, but they were always friendly. In fact, I even returned months later when I decided to replace our other car also, and he even found exactly the car I was looking for, which happened to be a car hidden in the back and not yet in the system. Although I ended up -regrettably- buying a Honda from South Pointe,(because of a few options the Mazda didn't offer, I gave up the nicer interior of a Mazda) but I recently had a bizarre experience at that other dealer which left me wondering if I should have just given up the options so I didn't have to deal with the mind numbing stupidity I dealt with at their competitor. I have post-purchase experienced ownership from both dealers now, so if ANY of you are struggling between models and dealers, please read this and know Nelson offers a better experience. In fact, I did have a bad experience one time in service years ago, but they handled the situation. No dealer is perfect, but I do think they try harder. They will still be my first stop next time I need/want a car.

Patrick was amazing. We had a power failure and he was so professional during that time. He was also very knowledgeable about all the technical stuff about a Mazda. Today's purchase makes my second purchase with Nelson Mazda. Dean work well with us and was able to get us what we wanted. We were not in need of a vehicle at the moment but would in the near future. We found a vehicle with low mileage and very clean. While they are detailing and running our vehicle through their inspections since it was a recent trade in, they placed us in a loaner vehicle. Jeff Lewis has sold a number of cars to my friends, so I asked for him. He is an honest gentleman with 28 years experience, who set the pleasant experience in motion. I got an amazing price on a clean, well-maintained used car, and a great trade-in. Jared in the Finance Dept. shopped until he found us a super low interest rate, due to our high credit score. We were both commenting on what a great, enjoyable experience we had.

Traveled 2 1/2 hours to purchase. Nelson located the exact vehicle I wanted to make the deal. Best power train warranty around, lifetime at no extra charge helped us make the decision and they worked with us on the price. I compared prices at multiple dealerships across multiple states and Nelson beat all but one. They was only a $100-200 dollars difference. The free lifetime power train warranty was worth the difference to us. The paperwork took longer than expected when I picked up the vehicle but Joel was great. No complaints on the sales end. The finance guy was a different story. He was a nice guy but had the interest rate incorrect, felt pressured even though he claimed to not be that guy to sell you something you don't want or need. My caution to you is pay close attention to the paperwork. They want to slide things in on their sales pitch and show you how they have your monthly payment where you need it. Although the payment is important, make sure you know what you will end up paying for the total purchase before you sign. I will say he made it right by correcting the interest rate and in the end, I walked out the door exactly as I intended.

The sales rep, Patrick Evans, was not only well informed, articulate, and approachable, but he was also a very funny and likable guy. During our test drive, he helped us explore the many features of the car, rather than just letting us figure it out ourselves. Patrick, unlike reps at many other dealerships, was not pushy but instead was pragmatic and understanding of our situation. I did end up purchasing a vehicle, and Patrick was just as friendly when I returned for the free car wash coupon as the first time we met. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Nelson Mazda and would highly recommend to a friend.

Purchased 2015 during a close out sale attempted to purchase in my area. The out the door price was higher than Nelson's. Plus my wife wanted a red one which our local dealer could not provide. After talking to their "internet manager" and arriving at a "out the door price" when we got over there( 150 miles from home everything went according to their word. Then they said that if we financed it thru Mazda's financing they would pay up to $1000 toward the first two payments, $500 each with us paying the difference with no early pay off penalties. Also they gave us a "life time" power train warranty. The last two items we were not aware of until we were completing the paper work. I was very pleased with the entire process.

Found a vehicle that I liked here, needless to say it was overpriced a few thousand. Tried to talk them down to a similar vehicle that I found in the OKc area Mazda dealership that was newer with less miles. Was told that there prices were the lowest on the Internet, which I thought was funny because I had it pulled up on my phone and even showed the salesman. He said they must lose money on all of their vehicles because they are priced so low. Not true, my truecar gave me exactly what it was worth and that's what I offered them. They declined so I went to OKc and purchased a fantastic vehicle with no hassle. On a separate note, the service center is excellent.Finally, they will tell you they are a Christian dealership over and over. I don't know if this was a selling point but it was very frustrating.

I want to share my experience regarding Auto Trader, the on-line offer process and Nelson Mazada in Tulsa. I had my vehicle for sale on Auto Trader for several months, as the ad was about to close I resorted to the "on-line" offer promoted by Auto Trader. I received offers to purchase my vehicle from three dealers, (same price), one of offers was from Nelson Mazada in Tulsa. After confirming that the offer was good with the on-line staff I took my vehicle to Nelson. My initial visit was not productive, the offer was much lower than what I had been quoted on-line, granted that's a "sight unseen" offer. After several days of negotiating with Tom we came to an agreement. Although the price was not what I hoped for in the end it was fair. I appreciate Tom working with me.


Never again will I come back.

There for a purchase of a new CX-5 with wife. Not my first time purchasing new and had done research over fair price and options desired. The process was fine/friendly until price negotiations started. My first offer was described as "insulting" (despite being around $250 from the "truecar/CR" fair price) and they played hardball the whole way. About 20 minutes after I put down my highest acceptable offer, which they rejected, we decided to leave. Suddenly they wanted my previous offer. Too late. Everything from negotiation on was very much "old-school stealership" playbook. Pressure and hard-ball pushing...loved the "fees" line in the proposal...salesperson couldn't explain what that was for (not to be confused with documentation fee, etc). Alternated regularly between sales person and his "manager". Thankfully we walked out and purchased out-of-town (In Norman, OK) the exact vehicle we wanted at much better price. Our "Out-the-door" price was $1000 less (including the extended warranty!) than the best that Nelson Mazda would work with. Never again. Go elsewhere....the Mazda place in Norman, OK was much, much better.

My wife Kim and I stopped by on Saturday afternoon to just look at a Truck that I had seen on the Internet and we were met by a very friendly salesperson named Michael and went for a test drive. He was very friendly and courteous, when we returned to the dealership other staff and sales manger wanted to know if we need anything i.e. water or soda or coffee. I told Michael if the numbers come out right He sold truck. Broken Windshield

I brought my car in for a diagnostic of the rain sensor (2009 Mazda 6). About 15-20min while waiting in their facility they came to me and said the rear view mirror broke off the windshield (area where the mirror is located). They claimed they were not responsible - that the windshield was not a Mazda part and that the glass was faulty (windshield was replaced in January for $470). They refused to do the diagnostic (reasoning some type of futility) and insisted I buy a Mazda certified windshield ($671) because the windshield I had was inferior to what they use (despite the fact my glass came from the same place they get theirs - just no Mazda logo). 1) My rear view mirror was fully intact and functioning normally upon my arrival at the dealership. 2) The rear view mirror did not need to be touched in order to check the sensor. 3) No attempt to apologize was offered, they simply shifted the blame to an inanimate object and trusted in my ignorance to absolve them from their mistake. 4) They refused to do the diagnostic, which could have been done without the windshield in it's entirety (separate part removable from the windshield). Not only did they not perform the scheduled diagnostic, they broke my windshield, failed to take responsibility for their actions, and left me without a rearview mirror (safety hazard). Conclusion: Mazda has failed in its mission to provide good customer service or attempt to meet my needs as defined by it mission statement. The responsible thing would have been to admit the mistake and replace the windshield. So as to deflate any attempt to dismiss my complaint, the glass company I initially used is providing proper customer service and replacing the windshield at not charge to me. This only applies to the Tulsa dealer.

Ask for Ian! I don't live in Tulsa & I was just in town for the weekend. I went to look at a used car that they had sold before I got to town. I was disappointed because I knew the same model new was most likely going to be out of my price range, however Ian tried extremely hard to make things work. Although we couldn't come to terms, I can say Ian is one of if not the most genuine car sales consultants that I've ever dealt with. I wish he worked where I live so I could deal with him more often. The sales manager (can't remember his name) was also extremely pleasant to deal with. This unsuccessful experience was more pleasant that most if not all my successful car deals! I would recommend Ian to anyone looking for a Mazda if you live in or are visiting the Tulsa area. You won't regret it.

thought we were getting an honest car deal and found out later that we had been lied to about the condition of the car we were buying. weve been owners of this car for almost a week and its been in the shop since we bought it. we were told that a pump was put in and come to find out it was never put in so when we had to take the car back because of a transmission leak (which was less than 24 hours after we bought it) and thats been 5 days ago!! i feel as if weve been taken advantage of and i know we were lied to. this is a very bad business tactic and i hope other people will read this and think twice before dealing with this dealership and its salesmen .

Everyone that I spoke to was extremely friendly and personable! I arrived a bit after 8PM with the intention on purchasing a Mazdaspeed 3 they had on the lot. Dean was willing to take us on an extended test drive, even so close to closing time. He was extremely knowledgeable about the car and its history (it had been serviced there since it was new). Dean and CJ were very willing to work with me to meet my payment goal and to make me as happy as possible. Everyone was extremely positive and understanding about everything and answered all of my questions! CJ, Dean, and Tom all stayed with us until almost 11PM to get the keys in my hand that night (2-hour drive from home). Also, thanks to Megan for making a phone call to me so quickly after my inquiry submission on Cars.com! This team definitely defies the typical car dealership staff, and that is a very good thing! I will be stopping by for a visit next time I'm in Tulsa!

Drove in looking for a good used car. Four hours later we had purchased the car my wife was wishing for. Sales person was fairly new but communicated the product very well. General Sales Manager can on the scene and we felt like we were old friends. This facility is full of good men that happen to sale cars for a living. From the GM to the Finance Manager, we felt warmth and honesty. Remember I am a person that does NOT like to talk with sales people and I'd drop in there anytime to chat. They were more than willing to make us feel good about being there and buying a car from them. They gave use more than I expected for the trade in, too. Bottom line is if I purchase another vehicle in the near future, it will be from Nelson Madza!

I looked and looked for a used Honda S2000 there arent very many out there. Some are over priced. But gladly I found this one in Tulsa. I contacted the online people they were easy and low pressure they answered all my questions friday morning. I went and got preapproved at the credit union I regularly use. That same evening I drove from OKC to Tulsa. I arrived 14 minutes till 9 and they close at 9. Well I was still kindly greeted by salesman Adrian, he took the time to show me car and we went on a 10 minute test drive. We came back in to the dealership and some people were not excited that i was there so late in the evening. But ALL of them were professional and courteous. I showed the manager i was serious on making the purchase and they gave me their bottom dollar price. We agreed. By then it was 1010pm. I left headed back to OKC withouth the car : ( but with a purchase agreement to show the credit union. Next day Saturday I drove back to Tulsa check in hand to finalize the purchase. To my surprise the dealership was jumping (really busy). Adrian greeted me as soon as i walked in. We worked on few papers manager came out and thank us for coming back and offerd to help if we needed anything else. I was out in 1 hour. It was easy and fast. Dealership is nicely done with complimentary drinks and snacks. They also have video games and plenty of tv's for the little ones. Good price on the vehicle I purchased and easy transaction for them and for me.

Do Not Buy from Nelson! They will take advantage of you!Terrible experience! Will never buy from Nelson Mazda again! Bought a used car. Had my car in shop for over 2 weeks...not sure why since my air filter was so filthy I had to replace it 3 months after buying it. Cost me $100 DVD player in back of front seats never worked-didn't think to check them, figured with Nelson's 72 point inspection, everything would be working before they'd sale it. That's what I get for trusting this place. Windshield wipers quit working 8 months after buying-told has to do with engine/transmission. Brake pads so worn down, almost metal on metal. Worse car buying experience ever!! Talk about taken advantage of.

With a son about to set off to college we stopped by Nelson Mazda; one of many dealerships that we visited. We were pretty frustrated by pushy sales people in many of the other dealerships, who obviously assumed we did not know what we were looking at. Looking at used and not being brand specific, associates Robert Foster and a trainee named Matt were very attentive, truthful, and very sincere. They were very careful to protect our criteria we wanted in a car, price, size, brands, appearance, age, etc. After driving, and looking at a variety of cars on the computer Robert had the courage to show us one that had just been traded in, not yet detailed and still unpolished. He assured me that the maintenance had been done faithfully by the previous owner, much at Nelson Mazda. We test drove it in the rain, and in spite of adverse weather--coming down in buckets-- he hung in there. Both boys had great can do attitudes, were very respectful. Robert knew what he could do for us and what he could not, which freed me up to meet him in the middle and I walked away with a great deal. Good associates reflect a likely hood of good management, which puts Nelson Mazda in a great place before the customer. Thank you for all the good work guys!!! Some businesses get it and some dont!

I recently returned from an overseas deployment with the US Navy and the last thing I wanted to do was spend a couple of days car shopping. Thanks to the wonderful experience we had in dealing with the folks at Nelson Nissan there was nothing to worry about. From the moment we stepped into their comfortable showroom until we walked out with the keys to our new car in our hand the process was smooth and painless. There was never any of the high pressure gimmicks that we have experienced at other places, our salesman, Sterling Ellis, was knowledgeable and very patient with us as we went through the process. We got a great deal on a great vehicle, but that was almost secondary to the way that we were treated. We will definitely be coming back!!

The customer service was awful! My husband and I went to view new Mazdas because we want to trade in our current vehicle. Both times we spoke to the salesmen were just awful. We felt rushed and then we were just neglected. The salesman came back a while later holding a cell phone for us to talk to a salesman who wasn't there! If we wanted to speak to someone over the phone we would have just called and not wasted the gas to get there. As we were driving away an associate came out to ask about our visit after which he said he would get the sales manager for us to talk to. Well he never showed up so obviously they're too proud to talk to us. Yes we're a young couple but we are or were very serious about purchasing a Mazda 3 from them. Needless to say we have taken our business elsewhere and we hope no one has to deal with the lack of customer service we had to endure.

Me and my wife were shopping for a used truck that she would be able to drive and we had shopped almost every major dealer in the Tulsa area and we always got told "I'm sorry we just cant help you." We finally ended up at Nelson Mazda and it was the best experience we have had buying a used vehicle. The sales staff was very friendly and professional and when a financing glitch occurred they did not give up or make us find a different vehicle but rather took the higher road and completed the sale even though the dealership was not making any money on the deal. My wife and I have been looking for her a new car for about a month or two. We have visited numerous new and used dealerships in and around the Tulsa area. Nelson Mazda was the first place the we both felt very comfortable and not "haggled." They were very professional in all aspects of our sale (even when we decided to leave when we had not reached a deal yet). They worked very hard to reach the price that we felt comfortable to be at. At no point did I feel like we were being "pushed" into buying the car. Even after we made a deal and we decided to buy our CX-7, they were very appreciative of our business and working with them. We showed up late in the evening, but was met by 2 sales reps. We requested a test drive in Mazda 3 hatchback and got it. We discussed what we were looking for while driving and were shown a Mazda 3 Sedan which actually matched all of our important criteria. We purchased the car that evening. i live roughly 4 hours away from this dealership, but fell in love with a used mini cooper they had on their lot. i called in and spoke with michael and he gave me all the information i needed, he even took a trip back from coming home from work just to put my information in to hold the care for me (thats what i call service). when i did finally arrive they did the process as fast as they could, putting us ahead of another customer, seeing as how we had to drive 4 hours back home. i would deffinately recomend this dealer to anyone! they are amazing and have a quality product for a reasonable price.

I called the day before to verify this & the service department had no information about this appointment but was still able to fit me in that next morning. I received great service & it's nice to get a car wash with the oil change. The buying process was a little long but no different that any other dealer.Overall the experience was great. The staff were friendly and seemed to genuinely want to help. Showed respect for our time. Price negotiations were a pain with lots of waiting involved. Didn't negotiate the sale price, only trade in value. Also it was a long wait after we decided to buy the car to finally talk with purchasing.Going into the dealership it seemed our expectations were a bit off. We have never bought such an expensive vehicle (Mazda5). Also our previous experience with dealerships had not gone well, so we would have preferred private party. Ryan was great! Ive already plugged him on facebook and am happy to do so here again. I came in for my first test drive on my own, and he was neither patronizing nor did he spew a lot of technical jargon. When we came back to buy we had the Blue Book and carfax on the specific used Mazda 3 we wanted in-hand. As the price came in well under the retail Blue Book (just slightly above the BB trade-in price, actually) and appeared quite fair there was a minimum of bargaining. Ryan did briefly try to upsell us to the 2011 model, but respected our polite thanks but no thanks. Ill take that experience any day over many dealerships where they build in $3000 of profit and you have to waste a couple of hours with the whole negotiation kabuki. The warranty and financing paperwork with CJ was easily the most memorable hour my husband and I have ever spent with a loan officer. We found him hilarious, though he might not be to everyones taste. All in all, as major purchases go this one was remarkably low-pressure and pleasant. This is my second Mazda, and based on both car and dealership I suspect it wont be my last.One note-I agree with an earlier reviewer's comments about the dealership's Christian vibe. Weve seen enough sleazy "christian" businesses that normally that's our cue to keep one hand on our wallets at all times, but everyone we dealt with was honest and pleasant to work with. My first car purchase that felt like a true win-win transaction.

They gave us a fare deal. The finance guy was a little bit pushy with the extended warranty. I have purchased them in the past and I never end up spending as much money as the warranty cost before it runs out. I told him I was not interested and he continue to make me feel like I was making a terrible decision. We closed the deal very quickly with the salesman who was very polite. However, we had to wait 2 hours before the finance guy would see us. Caused me to miss several appointments at work. They need to figure out how to get you out of there more quickly after you have made a deal.

I came to this dealership looking for a Mazda 5 that I found on the internet. We walked into the dealership and had to ask for a sales person. It was wonderful not to be stalked by salespeople when pulling into the parking lot. Ryan, the salesperson who came to help, really knew the vehicle we were test driving. He showed us features about this car that really helped make the sale. When I went into the finance department, the gentleman there made the experience so delightful. They kept the car payment in the range I wanted and I walked out of there feeling at peace. All of the people I encountered there were very professional! What a great place! I had a great experience at Nelson Mazda. I knew of them from some folks I worked with and because of their reputation made it a priority to check their inventory first. I highly value their Christian work environment that is reflected in their low pressure tactics and also in their negoiations. Everyone was friendly and not in a patronizing way. We did do our dance on pricing, but only a couple of stanzas and all in a very respectful manner.My salesperson was new, but focused on trying to do the right thing.I went in with expectations for a good experience and came out with a smile and the ability to sincerely recommend these folks and their business. I will be back for future purchases as I hope to do my part to support businesses that do the right thing by folks. Mr. Jacobs is a pro and a pleasure to deal with. Can not remember the last time I could say that coming out of a car dealership.

My sales experience started out well. David was friendly.But the rest of the car buying experience quickly took a turn for the worse. It started off with the inablility of the sales people to find a car. I was interested in a Mazda5. Their website listed several for sale. When I asked about a particular vehicle that only had 25,000 miles on it and was still under warranty I was told that the only cars they had were what we could see on the front lot (this car was not included). I ended up starting a deal on a Mazda5 with 36,000 miles on it. My husband happened to ask another salesman not helping with our deal and he was able to find the car we had already asked at least two other people about, it was in the back. It was finally brought around front and we started a new deal on it. To me it seemed like there was an agenda to sell the other car instead of the one I was really interested in and it left me feeling uneasy. From this point things went from bad to worse. The finance guy was very rude and insulting offering us an interest rate that was over 2.50% more than what we were able to get from an outside source. He actually told us if we could get a better rate than what he was offering we should come back and tell him about it because he didn't believe we could do it. The real kicker is the credit union we got financed through is one that Nelson Mazda uses for financing also, so why couldn't they get us a better rate?Several days after purchasing the car I received an email from Nelson Mazda asking about my sales experience and giving a number to call and speak to Megan Rawlings if I had any concerns. I spoke to Megan the next day and she said that she or a manager would get back to me about my bad experience. That was over 3 weeks ago and I have never been contacted by her or a manager. I would not buy another vehicle from this dealership ever again.

My particular experience at Nelson was nothing short of amazing ... The old 4Runner that I had been driving for years seemed to be on it's last legs. I drove into the Nelson lot on Memorial simply because I had heard from others that they were a very helpful and freindly outfit. This proved to be the case. After a couple of hours of shopping and much discussion about my particular situation, Ken B. and company were able to get me out of my old junky car (as it turned out the motor was about to give out) and put me in something that I could not have imagined on my own. The 06 Titan turned out to be a perfect fit for my family and our activities. I would highly recommmend Nelson Mazda and will continue to share this story with others.

Went to Nelson after MANY visits to other dealers in Tulsa. Nelson was able to get my payment and price for my trade just where I needed to be to make my buying decision. Carl was very informative and allowed my family to independently test drive our CX-9. From the moment I spoke with Megan on the phone to the moment I signed the paperwork it was a long but worthwhile experience. I would highly recommend this dealer to anyone who asked.

Great service from all aspects of the car buying process. Ken and Brandon were great to deal with and truly listened to what we were wanting to do and even after walking out called back several days later and we were able to make a deal on a New Mazda6 lease. Great experience purchasing my new Mazda3...friendly staff and easy to work with. No hassle type of sale just as I wanted. James worked with me and provided all the necessary details of the sale, followed up with me, but not too "sales" type. He is willing to do whatever customers want. Finally, he had everything ready for me to pick up the car...by the way, he also spent time with me on a rainy night to test drive and had the car ready in the garage area so we didn't get wet.
