I contacted the dealership about a poor experience I had and they made it right. Daisy contacted me immediately after I sent my email and shared she was forwarding the concern to her manager. Within five minute, Steve contacted me and apologized. I was not expecting anything more but he wanted to "make it right". I explained the situation and he went above and beyond to make it right. We are now proud owners of a Ford F150. He gave us a fabulous deal on the truck and a great deal on our trade. Steve made me very happy and our son extremely happy. My husband and I arrived at Napleton Ford late on a Saturday afternoon to look at a used CMax Energi hybrid plugin. We called ahead because they were an hour from home and Alfredo was waiting for us when we arrived. It didn't take long to know we wanted this car and we were very pleased with the way we're treated by Alfredo Meno in Sales, Rachel Goc in Finance, and Luke in Service. They were all very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

I am writing this because of such a unique and awesome experience I have had with this dealership . First of all I am 2900 miles away from home. I have needed o buy a car for the last two months but I wanted it to be a good, decent running car for reasonably inexpensive. I knew that going through a used lot was going to be a hassle considering I wasn't there. Well, I had Napleton Ford in libertyville make it seem as flawless as possible, as if I was there in the seat signing papers. I had a family member test dive the car, take all the pictures they needed to take, take payment and then send me the paperwork here in California to sign and return. They even gave me a return paid envelope. AMAZIING! Big shout out to Ken Bauman who made this process remarkably easy and simple. Being that I am in California, they allowed me to keep the car on the lot until someone from my family came to pick it up! If ever I am in the market in Illinois to purchase a car again, I will definitely be shopping with them! Thanks Ken and thank you to the team for making this usually horrific experience so easy and so streamlined!

I was in the market to buy my son a car because he got a new job far away from home and taking public transportation was not an option. I dread used car buying because for some reason I always felt like I gotten a raw deal so I was not looking forward to it. I found a car via my online search that was located at the Napleton Ford in Libertyville. He came out and test drove it and loved it with the exception of a bumping noise coming from the back passenger side of the car. Our Salesman Tim Barcal was amazing, he told us he didn't want to sell us the car until he found out the problem. So, he let us know the next day that the mechanics looked it over and decided that it wasn't worth fixing and that it wouldn't help even if they tried. I appreciate his complete honesty. Not only did he save me from making a bad purchase, he and his manager Steve (the owner) went out of there way to find me a used car that was equivalent to what I was looking for and also gave it to me for the same price even though it had 20K less miles. I was extremely impressed and so very grateful to them both for making this a good experience so easy.

First time leasing and we didn't know what to expect. From the moment Tim Barcal started to assist us, we immediately felt at ease. He genuinely believes in the product he's selling and he makes sure you get the answers you want. He was as excited as us about the features.They didn't have a car with the exact options we wanted so Tim worked with other dealers for a trade. After four weeks of searching for a used Ford Focus, I found what I thought was the best one. I arrive early at the dealership before they open to view the car. Satisfied with what I saw, did a test drive and made the purchase. During the test drive I noticed a slight shudder during on acceleration but tapering off as the car got up to speed. I figured it may be a spark plug or wires.This car is for my son. So, I had taken it to my mechanic for an evaluation. Sad to say it was not in the engine compartment. But, in need of both CV axle shaft assemblies and wheel hub bearings, to be replaced at a cost of a little over one grand.Yes, I did test drive the car and being ten years old, I question would the dealer be of any help with the repair costs. All I could do was send an e-mail stating the problems and a copy of the work required to correct the problems. Hoping to get more than To Bad Sucker response, such as one I received a few years ago from a Ford Dealer in Arlington Heights. But, NOthe Used Car Sales Manager at Napleton Ford in Libertyville, IL called and said only a few weeks has gone by since the purchase; they will honor the cost with a check for half the repairs.After I had gotten myself off the floor, I thanked this fine Gentleman. In my sixty years of buying cars, this is the first time I experience a dealer going way out of there way to please a customer (me).Praise to Napleton Ford in Libertyville, IL. You will be the dealer for any future auto purchases. I do hope anyone reading this would consider stopping at Napleton Ford before purchasing any used or new cars, Im sure you will be pleased with their service.THANKS AGAIN!Edward Dudzik

ZERO STARS! HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED DEALERSHIP. SCAMMERS. I purchased a vehicle and they lied about the $1,000 cash back incentive from Ford for their customers. They just put it in their pocket. After everything was completed, spoke with the manager, Kevin, and he didn't care at all. He told me he had everything on paper and the salesman Jim was supposed to tell me that but he didn't and Kevin didn't want any responsibility. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Good scammers, this is the reason for the dishonest stereotypical car salesman - it's all true. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO THERE AND PURCHASE A VEHICLE.

I purchased a new Ford Edge from this location and was extremely happy with the service from the moment I walked in the door. As a Costco member I was originally referred to a dealership much closer to home, but when I didn't get a good feel with that dealership I spoke with Costco and explained that I'd be willing to travel further for good service, and I was referred here. I called and spoke with Tim Barcal before coming in, and he was very helpful, emailing me options before I even hung up the phone. When I arrived at the dealership he was very friendly and I felt I could trust him from the start. Tim explained he had a scheduled day off and so when trying to locate the exact vehicle I wanted to purchase Kevin Gordon took over and kept me informed the following business day. My brand new edge arrived quickly within 24 hours, and when I returned to officially purchase it Tim was very thorough, patient, and helpful in going over all of the options and functions of my new Edge. Rich Freni was very helpful in explaining and reviewing the financing details, and I even saved more money thanks to his insights about taxes and selling my 'old' car to another individual. As I explained when I left, I hope it's many years before I look for another car, but I'll definitely return to that location and ask to work with Tim, Kevin, and Rich from the very start. Awesome experience all around.

I took my Ford Econoline E-250 to this dealership after my local mechanic could not fix an alignment issue, I was told that it was a drag link and gear ASY issue. After replacing the parts and charging me a total amount of $1,800, the problem was not resolved at all. Since my employee took the van off the lot without checking (obvious mistake on his part) I found out later that day that the steering is still dangerously wavy, and on top of it all, they left the steering wheel disassembled. They refused to refund any money at all after acknowledging that they could not figure out what the problem was. The best they could do was offer me a discount a new truck. No thanks. Be very careful taking your vehicle to these guys. Worst mechanic experience of my life.

I searched the entire midwest for an F-150 with the options I was looking for. I contacted a few other dealers but either they could not find the vehicle or they wanted to play games instead of sell a truck. I had been eyeing an F-150 on Napelton's lot for approx 6 weeks, but felt it was out of my price range. I emailed the sales team of William Underhill and Mike Chiappetta. I was promptly contacted and within 36 hours, we were able to negotiate a price for the new truck, a price for my trade in and a price for an extended warranty. No games, no lies, no bait and switch. An honest mans deal. Upon arriving at the dealership, my wife and I were promptly greeted by Jim Mueller, who was one of the friendliest salesmen I've ever had the privilege to work with. Jim, Mike and William made my wife and I feel at home in the dealership. Jim took us for a test drive in my new truck, took us for a test drive in another type of vehicle we were considering for my wife and took me to the service department so they could answer all my questions about the vehicle's engine. After we took possession of the vehicle, Jim sat with us for over 30 mins giving us a comprehensive overview of our new truck. Jim was prompt and attentive to everything we needed and made sure my wife and I never had to open a single door for ourselves while we were at the dealership.My truck was immaculately detailed and had a full tank of gas. Victor Quinones in the finance department made the paperwork quick and painless. This purchase was one of the easiest transactions I've made in my life. The professionalism of Mike, Jim, William and Victor was second to none. These men know what customer service is and what it takes to make a deal. My mind originally was set to a pickup but changed due to family concerns. We decided to buy the edge 2015. I was showed two models the luxury model and the second best. I decided on the showroom model. The buying went great and Victor the business manager was awesome. Dan went over the vehicle with us to show the options in the car. He did not miss a thing. This dealership has been in my family since my father owned Fords for years. He bought his first when Mr. Sessler owned the business. I work in town and take vehicles to get serviced. After spending half of the day in the dealership, and being buttered up. I felt so taken advantage of upon leaving. THen, to top it off they promised to finish detailing a car that must have been a trade in 5 minutes before, they have strung me along and left me with, " they will call you, when they have a loaner". Well, they are full of empty promises, and I won't send my friends and will make a lot of new friends by steering them clear of this den of conmen, and B.S. Artists. I saw thru them, but I did really need a car. After the Mafia sized interest rate, I'll pay it off, in 3 months and get it done with. After weeks of stressing over where or how to buy my next used/pre-owned vehicle, my brother suggested I try searching a Ford dealership as we respected that Ford was one of the auto companies that did not take government bail-out money to pay their CEOs big bonuses before closing their doors. They weathered the storm and came out even stronger. Rich Randazzo, the salesman at Napleton was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and he and Napleton went to bat to get the price of the car within my comfort zone. Car shopping is never easy and being new to the area had us visiting a lot of dealerships for all car brands. Thankfully, we found Mike Chiappetta at Napleton Ford of Libertyville, who was head and shoulders above the others in understanding what we were looking for and what we could afford. Mike was helpful and honest about pricing without being pushy. He went out of his way to work with us on a deal for the car we wanted. I felt like he really cared about us as customers. Our overall experience at Napleton Ford was excellent. August Trexler, who took us on a test drive was patient and knowledgable (it was surprising how many salespeople at other dealers did not really know the nuances of their vehicles.) August also came in on his day off to give us a very thorough tutorial on the vehicle when we picked it up. The purchase process was quick and easy, with no catches or last minute surprises. Yes, they offered extended warranties, but were not pushy and did not care that we turned them down. So far, we love our new Escape, it has pretty much every bell and whistle you could want, including the very latest safety features, electronic integration and some pretty cool extras like a lift gate that opens by waving your foot, remote start, a moonroof across the front and back seat areas and even parking assist (which we honestly haven't tried yet.) We've not needed their service department yet, so I can't comment on that. And, we will see if the quality of the Escape holds up a couple years down the road, but so far, it's been fun to drive. Thanks Mike and August, we'll be by for those free car washes!

I recently brought my car in for routine maintenance--oil change and tire rotation. I unintentionally left my cell phone in the car. The service writer brought me the phone before I left the shop. Nice to know there are still honest, helpful people out there! When he called to tell me my Explorer was ready for pick-up, he indicated I would need brakes next spring. He told me there would be an estimate attached to my bill when I arrived. This now allows me to budget for the upcoming expenditure. Great customer service that exceeded my expectations.

I brought it in to Napleton Ford for a reoccurring problem they they initially could not reproduce.But the engine fault light came on again I took it right to them and within one day the engineers at Ford were on top of it along with the people at Napleton Ford. They ended up putting in a brand new engine and Dan Weichbrodt did the installation and Natalie Russell the Service advisor really made me feel at ease and kept me in the loop every step of the way. It took about two weeks to do which was pretty quick for a 20 hour job, just got the suv back today ( 1-9-15) and so far so good. We are taking it on a trip to Florida soon so that will be a good test. I just wanted to say how great all of the service people were to us as well as The manager Jack.

I came in with the intent to buy a new car that day, and Tim Barcal - along with Victor in finance - made that very easy. Tim asked the right questions to narrow down which car was best for me, and I was able to get an Escape with some extra features that I wanted.A few weeks out and the car is still wonderful. I went into Napleton's in libertyville because the were the closest ford dealer. I knew exactly what I wanted and knew the narket value ahead of time. When I went in to purchase the vehicle, they did not have one on their lot nor could they find one (it was an odd-ball configuration). So rather than trying to upsell me, they beat the competitions's price and offered to factory order the vehicle. Because I could not wait the 8-10 weeks for a factory order, I opted for a more popular configuration. Although the didn't have one on their lot, the had me new car in and ready to go the next day. No surprises. No bait and switch. Just honest people trying to make their customers happy. I told Kevin,the general manager that of the dozens of cars I've purchased over my life, live never driven off the lot happy about the price I paid (I Leah's felt like I was being ripped off). However at Napleton Ford in libertyville, I felt good about the deal and love my truck and genuinely like the team. From the time they called me and told me my truck was in, I spent less than two hours getting out of there. The insurance up sells are there because some people want them but since they knew I was on a tight budget, they moved through the details of those programs very quickly... I was using X Plan pricing which is lower than invoice and they still treated me with respect and care. They found the pricing options needed for my budget and also did not try to sell me any sales gimmicks or an over priced vehicle. I will continue to use Napelton for any vehicle I purchase. Also the manager, I think his name was Nick, was very respectful even though my low budget and young age and personally worked with me for over an HOUR! I recently purchased a 2013 Ford Fusion Energi from Napleton Ford. This was the best new car buying experience I have ever experienced and I have purchased quite a few new cars. Every step of the purchase was accomplished with the personal touch and attention of their new car sales professional Tim Barcal. This was a brand new product with many new electronic features and I expected that the dealership personnel would not have much experience with all the new features. This was absolutely not the case. Tim Barcal went over every feature step by step to include adding our Cellular telephones and signing up for all the Ford experiences available on line or with Ford My Touch and Synch Services.. Tim spent more than two hours famializing my wife and myself with the many features. We left the dealership feeling adequate that we knew how everything worked and that we could handle all the new features. Our hats are off in thanks and praise to Tim Barcal and the management at Napleton Ford. And. We love the Ford Fusion Energi. After one month of ownership it is everything we expected and wanted. Ease of operation,quiet running and economical. We have not added any gasoline in 500 miles. It uses some fuel for maintenance to keep it from getting stale etc so we have used less than a 1/4 gallon. MPG ? We are averaging 70 mpg and over 150 MPGe . We have figured that a full charge form a fully discharged battery costs less than 50 cents and gives us about 20 miles of driving. Car buying made "palattable" is what I would call my experience with Rich Freni and Steve Potts of Libertyville Napleton Ford. I always hated buying a car due to intimidation, intense pressure, (no I need to talk to my manager), and just plain lies. Not so this time. They gave me honest information, worked with me to find my car at a reasonable price, (confirmed by internet searches), and put no pressure on me. The trade-in value was also reasonable and above what I thought I would get. The icing on the cake was that on the day of the sale, my trade-in would not start. They told me they would work with me and they did. I knew what the problem was and they confirmed my suspicions. They only took off my trade-in the cost of the parts. I cannot express exactly how happy I was to work with Rich and Steve and I would highly recommend them and Napleton to anyone tired of the usual "car buying games"!

I originally contacted Napleton Ford over the internet with a request for a quote on a 2013 Mustang GT. Rich was very helpful and gave me a great quote on a car that most dealers were not willing to negotiate on at all do to a very low supply of Mustangs all over the Chicagoland area. There was not high pressure tactics and the whole process went very smoothly. They even matched the very low rate my credit union was offering so I could take care of the paperwork quickly and easily after the Mustang I ordered was delivered. When I walk into a car dealership, my guard is up and my armor to fend off high pressure salespersons is on. I have to admit that I left Napleton Ford feeling a little guilty about the way I had anticipated encountering my preconceived enemy. It was horrible to find a friendly, patient sales crew that was willing to respond to all of my questions (many of which I already knew the answer to) in an honest and efficient manner. I researched my intended purchase and entered the dealership with a price cap that I vowed that I never would exceed. When I left Napleton, I had my car and had easily stayed under my cap. I guess that all I can say is thanks to Al Velez and the rest of the Napleton team.As far as my preconceived attitudes and notions, the service department still has to deal with me. :)

I have been a customer (both service and sales) of this Dealership for about 16 years now and I must say they are good people to deal with. I had a nagging problem with my 2008 Explorer and while it did take a few visits to sort out the actual problem they did get get to the bottom of it. The initial visit for this issue was under warranty. At the time Gene Holst the Service Manager after consulting with Ford indicated he was not sure the problem was fixed but should a fix come about he would take care of it. Two years later I had the issue looked into again and Gene stood by his word and the problem has finally been fixed. I have tried other places for service as like most you sometimes get the feeling the dealer is overpriced but I have learned over the years no one knows the car better than the dealer. They have the training, knowledge and tools to service the car in a much more efficient manner than others I have tried. The sales department is also very good to deal with. One of the things that I like about this dealership is the lack of turnover with key people like Gene Holst and that says a lot. I will continue to do business with Napleton Ford as long as I live in the area and they continue to conduct business this way.

Gene Holst is probably the best service manager with whom I have ever dealt. One concern any customer has in dealing with automobile service is whether the customer will get ripped off, since the customer does not know what is wrong with the vehicle. Gene Holst acted in such a way as to engender my trust -- he was always looking for the less expensive alternative to undertaking work on my vehicle. The dealership certainly made money off of me, and the rates are not inexpensive, but Gene tried to keep the costs down and looked out for my interests. He is fantastic, and since he is the Service Manager, I trust that his attitude flows down to others in his department. Started out working with Burt, who did a great job of finding 3 or 4 edges and escapes to test drive with a wide assortment of bells and whistles. I had let him know that I was shopping cars and that I would still be going out after my test drives to look at another car dealer. I was given much information and was very pleased with the help I had received. As I was leaving Steve came out to enthusiastically show me one specific car that Bert had not shown me, an edge sport. I had told him the same about still wanting to look at one more car at another dealer, but I would be letting them know at some point my decision. I came back a couple of hours later with my wife, Burt was no longer there and worked with Tim and Stephen. Those 2 individuals were the most "non-stereotypical" car salesmen that I have ever had the pleasure to encounter at a car dealer. I went to Napleton Ford in Libertyville on 11/7/2011 with the intention of finding out if I could trade-in my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT for a new car, and lower my car payment. I walked in and was greeted by Tim Barcal, my randomly-assigned salesperson. Tim is definitely not the stereotypical salesperson, much to my delight! As a woman, and financial professional, I appreciate being treated with respect and integrity, and Tim accomplished both with ease.I did not "want" to trade-in my G8, because it was very sporty and fun to drive. The whole reason I went to the dealership was to see if I could lower my car payment while still being able to drive a nice car.We started out by test-driving an Escape, but it just wasn't "me". I then asked Tim if we could try a Mustang. He was more than willing to take the time to find the right option for my situation. When he was about to get the keys for the Mustang test-drive, I hesitantly asked if we could try a Taurus instead. I realized that I needed something more practical than a sport coupe, and he was happy to oblige my request.I was pleasantly surprised by the fit and finish of the Taurus, and the quality of the interior. It was a smooth ride, and very comfortable! The negotiations began ...Tim was a great mediator, and helped balance the deal for a win-win scenario. In the end, the dealership won my business, and I was able to get a brand new car with a lower monthly payment. Even though I traded in my muscle car for a sensible car, Tim was able to make the transaction as smooth and positive as it could be. I couldn't be happier!

Tim and Tom were very upfront friendly and honest. I was very comfortable with them, Tom helped place the order for the fusion sel with Navigation and I was sorry to hear he left right before it arrived. Though I am thrilled to say that Tim stepped in and was very helpful and made the purchase so quick and helped me to understand my new car! I would definitely recommend Tim to my family and friends if they are looking for a Ford! I have to say my interaction with Larry was very displeasing. He misdirected me by telling me the fusion didn't come in the size engine I was looking for, at the time we believed him but after doing some further research on the web . I fugu red out it did indeed. Only reason why I interacted with him is that Tom wasn't in that day for a second meeting before ordering. On a better note, I have to say I am thrilled that it's the second day and I love my new car and glad I choose to purchase at Ford Napleton in Libertyville. I recommend though for the future that the Internet sales and in office sales share records so there aren't a cross over of calls as I did submit inquiries online and talked with in person. I mentioned working with Tom Mucia when filling out the forms online. Also, I know its not often but a notice that Tom was no longer with the dealership so I could have directed any inquires to whoever would be taking over my purchase would have been nice as I had been emailing him to check on the status as I was anxious for the arrival would have been better then walking in to say hello and finding out I was without a rep. Though it was comforting to know that there was word on a soon delivery date then expected! Overall I gave my ratings high end as I have been thrilled overall and hope to return for any maintance or service in the future!!!

Great dealership with wonderful people to deal with. They are professional, honest and low pressure. The negotiations were done on line. The correspondence was helpful and to the point. There were no gimmicks or games and the staff was more than helpful and accomodating. I've been a GM girl for years...I switched to Ford because I like dealing with companies that don't borrow taxpayer money to stay in business. I've bought both a used and new car from Napleton Ford in the past 2 weeks. My daughter purchased a very nice used car and they were so certain of the quality of this vehicle that they provided a short-term warranty. I also bought a 2011 Explorer...there were no shell games with the money...they laid it all out clearly and were very reasonable when negotiating the trade-in value on my car, as well. Al was kind, knowlegeable, patient and made sure I understood all the bells and whistles on my new vehicle (and boy are there bells and whistles!). Mark Eck was terrific! Could not have been better. The financial officer was unfriendly and curt. He seemed to be avoiding my questions or hiding something. He made me uncomfortable. I have also been unhappy with the service department because they were unfriendly and charged me more than they had quoted without a discussion. Each time (3) that I have been in there, I have been received with a cool, almost annoyed attitude. What is the matter? Mark, however, was excellent and had a friendly, honest manner. He was great to work with. Too bad he works at that dealership. I would like to buy my next car from him but I don't like the rest of the dealership.

We walked in to buy a third car for our household. We wanted to stay under $25,000, we wanted a new car with good gas mileage and we were not disappointed. We didn't have a flock of dealers run to us, we had one nice man, Chris Acker, come out as we looked at the cars. He asked if he could help and then showed us things on the lot. When we explained that we wanted basic features and stated that the one feature we wanted for certain was heated seats, he immediately talked about how heated seats could be added if we didn't find one that had them already on the lot. Then he took us to a car inside that had fewer features than the two on the lot and was cheaper than the two on the lot. It was perfect for us and fit our pricing requirements. We went for a test drive right away and we knew it was exactly what we wanted. When it came to working out financing, we told them the rate we got from our credit union and they beat it. They also threw in the heated seats for less than half the actual cost to install. The finance person was courteous and explained everything. Even though we were signing documents to make payments on a car loan, we felt comfortable and at ease because they were so nice. No one gave us a hard sell for things we may not want or need, and we left feeling like we had gotten a great deal from people who cared about us as customers, not numbers. It was the most pleasant car-buying experience we ever had!Bottom line, everyone was friendly, we weren't swarmed or pushed into anything we didn't want, we did the whole thing in about an hour and a half from start to finish, and we left feeling happy with our purchase. Will we go back there for our next car? ABSOLUTELY!

I walked into this dealership with credit problems and needed to get out of my full sized gas guzzling truck. I explained my concerns and needs to the salesman and within a couple of hours I was out of my truck and into and 2011 Ford Fusion. After a lengthy search on the Internet for a vehicle, I had narrowed my choices down to 3 cars in the area, including a 2007 Ford Edge at Napleton. The Edge was a little pricier than what I was hoping to spend, but was the nicest of the vehicles we looked at. I test drove the Edge and decided to see if Napleton could come down into my range. I was doubtful, especially after two rounds of offers that were too high. I was ready to walk away rather than go over my comfortable payment, but Chris and the staff were eager to make the sale and did make it happen. I'm very happy with the car and feel that I got a good deal on it. Chris, Vincent, and the team stayed well past 9:30 p.m. to finish the deal so I could drive home in my new truck last night. I appreciate that extra effort.Chris is very personable, friendly, and genuine; one of the least offensive car salespeople I've ever encountered. I am a happy and loyal Ford owner thanks to Mark Hampton and the rest of the service team at Napleton Ford. My current car, a 2003 Ford Escape, has 252,000 miles, still runs great and gets outstanding gas mileage (25-26 highway, 20-22 in "regular" driving). I have been in for service a number of times over the years, and Mark has always taken great care of me. Hats off to all the technicians that have worked on the car over the years also, since I know it is their hard work that keeps it running so well. Mark has always communicated in an accurate and timely fashion with me on my service appointments. Eric Radtke has taken care of things for me also, and I feel just as comfortable with him. Gene Holst, the Service Manager, is always there and always talks with me. My salesman, Jay Gelb was great, very helpful, what he didn't know about the car, he went out of his way to find out. I felt he was sincere about getting me what I wanted. And we came to a fair price for trade-in/purchase.I can't say as much for the other employees there. Nick and Steve also assisted in this purchase and told me the used car I was buying had a comprehensive 115 point inspection and that the car was in excellent condition. There was no inspection done. In fact the washer fluid was bone dry, the coolant was very low and there had been no oil change done. Jay later made sure that all of this was taken care of. Initially Nick told me the car had a 4 year 50k warranty from the factory. Then after I agreed to purchase it and was signing the papers, he told me that the warranty was NOT transferable. He suggested I buy an extended warranty. However, in the owner's manual it states clearly that the factory warranty is automatically transferred to the next owner.Victor in the finance office told me that his mother owned several cars like the one I was purchasing and that she always had to have the radiators replaced. So I better buy the extended warranty. It's not a good feeling to have an employee of a dealership tell you how unreliable your car is before you even drive it off the lot. In the end none of his extended warranties covered radiators anyway. There were two minor items that Nick agreed to replace on the car and told me to schedule this with the service dept. When I called I was told that they don't have information about parts for this make. I had to call Napleton's other dealership myself to get the parts numbers and give it to the service department. I am sure they could have made the call themselves or looked it up online. They had a bad attitude and were very unwilling to help.Also they were irresponsible in not paying off my trade-in for 2 weeks. I ended up having to make another payment on a car that was sitting on their lot. When I told Nick he said, no problem, we will get that money back to you in 4 to 6 weeks!I felt that I was lied to by Nick, Steve and Victor just to make a sale. They have no respect for their customers. It is this kind of bad customer service that gives car dealerships a bad name. I would never recommend buying a car there.

I worked with Tim Barcal and stopped in at closing time on a Saturday looking for a car for my wife and Tim showed me a new Ford escape that was a "demo" but seemed to be a good price. Came back the following Monday but my wife was not with me, so I asked Tim if I could drive the Ford Escape home to show my wife and let her drive it.Tim saw to it that I drove the Escape home to show my wife,I let her drive it, she liked it very much, and we bought the car. The next day I asked for an oil change (even though the demo I bought was not due for it) and Tim saw to it that the oil change was done and that the tires rotated free of charge. That same day Tim also missed his lunch to hook up the Bluetooth to the receiver on the Ford Escape. If ourexperience with the Ford Escape we purchased is as good as the initial experience with the dealership I'll certainly have no complaints!

Tim was awesome! I just moved to IL from IN and needed some wheels and had limited funds. Tim was able to find me a car in the price range I was looking for and truly helped me out. He made the process as fast as possible and completely painless. Tim even pulled a car fax report for us while we were test driving the car. However, my wife and I stopped in Napleton Ford in Libertyville to check out a new car and were welcomed almost immediately by Mark Eck. He easily made us feel comfortable, answered all our questions and gave us the impression our needs were his focus. We expected a "car salesman" but met a new friend instead. The dealer and Tom dealt with me very straight forward and honest. I spent many days configuring a vehicle that met my requirements and took a lot of Tom's time helping me look for a vehicle that would fit me. When all was said and done it became apparant that I would need to order the vehicle, and Tom made that process as simple as possible. The whole group there from sales to service really take an interest in their customers, and never once did I feel that typical pressure to buy something I didn't need or want. My wife and I walked on the lot on Monday looking for an inexpensive import for our 16 year old daughter. We walked through the lot for at least 20 minutes before my wife suggested we leave. As we were walking to our car a young man approached us and asked me if I needed help. He never even looked at my wife. I told him what we were looking for which was followed by him telling me (not US) that he'd go inside and see what was available. After another 10 minute wait he came back to tell us he had nothing to shoe me (again he directed the conversation to me, NOT US.) I told him we saw a Focus that might work for us. He then unbuttoned his shirt (it really wasn't THAT hot out) and actually said "I thought you only wanted an import? Focuses are not as well built as imports are!" can you imagine our shock when we were by a Ford dealer NOT TO BUY A FORD BECAUSE IT'S NOT AS GOOD AS AN IMPORT!" At this point after waiting for as long as we did and being advised NOT TO BUY A FORD we left as quickly as we could. Let me assure you Mr Napleton I will NEVER set foot on your lot again, and I will positively make sure that everyone I come in contact with (I am a supervisor in a company of over 3,000 employees)will know of my experience. It's dealers like you that give your industry a black eye.One more thing. A copy of this letter will be sent to your regional manager. Brought 2002 Ford Taurus to my mechanic, he said fuel pump was the problem, approx $800 repair. Fuel pump was covered under extended warrenty so I took car to Napleton. I told Napleton my mechanics info, I even gave them a print out with info my mechanic had given me to take. Napleton did their own diagnosis and came back with "not sure of the problem" and wanted to make repairs ($1,100) based on their diagnosis, problem is repairs they wanted to make were not under warranty, the fuel pump was. I called My mechanic from Napleton, he had diagnosed the problem and said he was 99.9% sure the problem was with the fuel pump, not what Napleton wanted to do. Napleton would not listen to him.I returned my car to my mechanic, he replaced the fuel pump, everything worked great. Napleton would have charged me $1,100 to be wrong. As it is I had to pay $800 to my mechanic for a repair which was covered under warranty. I had even told Napleton to replace the fuel pump, if my mechanic was wrong I'd pay for the work. NO, they had to go with what their tech said. It cost me $800 which it should not have.I was very encouraged when I bought the car, I will never used Napleton again after.A very disappointing outcome.Bottom line = Napleton service is terrible, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

These guys are rip offs. They are all a bunch of lazy old men who are dicks. They promise things and then when you need it done they say they don't know whats wrong with your vehicle. The manager, Steve, is a complete dick. Do not go to this dealer, way over priced and you will have a bad experience. I bought a used car that had a warranty, sure enough I have been back there 5 times because they don't know what the problem is. I took it to a shop and had it diagnosed and then told them the problem, but since they didn't "agree" they didnt fix it like promised. Total RIP OFF, STAY AWAY.

I brought my vehicle in for a recall and I was expecting the headache of having to drop my car off, find a ride, hope it was finished in one day, etc. Instead, Mark told me it was a 1/2 hour repair, and I could wait while it was completed. He then informed me of a second recall of which I was unaware, and said he might have to order that part.However, in less than an hour, BOTH recall repairs were finished and I was on my way. When I walked out to my car, they had washed it as well. I was impressed by this because since I came in for a recall, I was a non-paying customer. Beware...service costs are in left field! To replace transmission on my salesmen Ford Escape Napleton quoted us $3500. When Napleton was told another nearby Ford dealer would do it for $2900 they lowered price to $3000. Three weeks later my Ford Expedition needed a new fuel pump & filter and Napleton quoted me $1150 for parts and labor. Based on my friends recent experience with Napleton, I called another local Ford dealership and got a quote of $745.00 for parts and labor. I was so pissed that they were taking advantage of me I paid Napleton the $119.00 they wanted for diagnosing the fuel pump problem and had the car fixed down the street for $686.00. The $805.00 I spent was still $345.00 less than what I would have spent at Napleton. My company has a fleet of Ford cars and trucks and in the future we will not be using Napleton for any of our service. Bottom line is that the service advisor was very freindly but the prcing structure for service set by management is criminal.
