Need to change financing options.

Price and financing option were hidden costs. Compared to other dealers like ken graff, Honda the APR was quite high despite having good credit score. MSRP of the car was high compared to ken graff and moreover they didn't allow private financing for new cars. Manager said that it is mandatory to take Hyundai financing which is not required in many other dealers. Service and vehicle is good.

I would advise anyone purchasing a new or used vehicle to examine the sales contract with a fine tooth comb to ensure that you are only charged for items discussed and agreed to. The salesman was great. Bent over backwards to make sure that the vehicle I wanted was made available and has been very professional. This is the second vehicle I have purchased through him.

Promise not honored...

Well I am sad to write this.. Scott Child was very attentive as we looked for a used car for my son. We were under time pressure as I was out of state looking with my son for a reliable car for him. Scott worked hard to get a car we were interested in through their shop and called back keeping us up to date on car... he assured us this car was in good shape after work done by their guys. He stated multiple times to 3 adults ..."want you to be happy...going to take care of your son here...can drive this car for 5 days and if don't like give YOU YOUR MONEY BACK... tear up the paperwork and GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK." . perfect for our situation as we did not want to keep looking ... he encouraged us to take it to a shop to get it looked over in those 5 days. And we did.... in 5 minutes the shop guy came out with a list and said take it back....... so my son called and now THEY SAID YA GET STORE CREDIT FOR A DIFEERENT ONE ..call placed to Scott who said .. " let me look into this and I will calll you right back" no call back from Scott... Not yet... now working with other staff let's hope they are good to their word.... I encourage anyone with these experiences to call1-800-633-5151 Hyundai customer service.. they are great people.. have an open case on this and I am working with them to this does not happen to anyone else... as for now I have extended my store credit in hopes we can get a car that works for us. I truly hope this dealership can right a true wrong by Scott. We would hav e been happy if they upheald his word of YOU MONEY BACK. YES IT IS NOT THEIR POLICY. But Scott stated he would do that for us... and it is not too late Scott to right a wrong. Give us our full money back as promised .... I will update this as I progress through this unpleasant process...

Awesome Experience

My sales woman, Erin Sorenson, was absolutely GREAT! I had dealt with many car sales people in the past and by far Erin was top notch. I will return to Murdock Hyundai at the end of this lease and maybe Erin will still be there. If she is, she will be my sales woman. The owner, Blake Murdock, stopped in to see me too while I was waiting for the numbers. He was extremely pleasant and welcoming. Their TV commercials are spot on. Everything they say is true. I had a wonderful experience buying this new car. Absolutely NO regrets at all, not even the usual "morning after." Never. A good car buying experience

I've bought 4-Hyundai's in the last 6-years for me and my family. I have convinced 3- of my married children to buy a Hyundai. I have bought them from different dealerships throughout the valley. The sale person at Murdock Hyundai in Murray was the best I've worked with.

Knowledgeable Sales Staff, IF you can get their attention

I went in to this dealership with a certain New car in mind, a White 2016 Elantra GT for (A) the Price, they had a Dealer Discount on this and All of their GT's of $1500, Factory Rebates amounting to $2500 (that everyone qualified for) and (B) the Warranty (Legendary). Scott was the Lucky salesman that got me and he noticed as well as I that the car in question had over 2000 miles on it so I expected a reduction in Price for that (Demo) and the fact he said "well this is a Demo and will have to adjust for that" and it also had a crease in one of the Front fenders with scratches and paint missing (estimate about $1000 damage), a scuff on another fender and curb rash on two of the Alloy Wheels and I expected a reduction for all that as well. Once again Scott agreed but whoever he talked to (I assume the New Car Manager) didn't quite see it that way and after all was said and done they offered a $1000 reduction and another $500 for a Rebate (Conquest) I was already entitled to (made me chuckle), which I declined, I am not at all upset because it was their option and they have a business to run, I think they should have really considered it for more than 2 minutes though, cause I did want to buy a car from! Scott did a Good job, not as (CRAZY) Great as he thought he might but xxxxx to him for his efforts. It is all water under the Bridge cause the 2017 GT's are already being delivered back East and should be here soon? (the Style package comes with Leather seating, Bonus) and if I am still in the Market maybe they will have an Unused, Undamaged NEW car that I can buy at a Reasonable yet Competitive price? Time will tell.

Good salesmanship

Came for oil change, left with new car. Salesman was great, finance was great. Would have had a concern with service but the issue was resolved. Eric in service was also great! I didn't get the names of 3 women who were also very helpful with another issue

We were not shown vehicles that we did not want. We were debating between the Sonata and the Elantra. We were educated on both and found the Elantra would fit our needs better. We were comparing with a Volkswagon Jetta and were able to receive a much better price on the Elantra.

Can't get anyone to answer phone

So, I'm new to SLC, used to go to the Lindon Murdock Hyundai. I love the dealership, always been so friendly, but I can not get anyone to help me when I call the service center. I've been calling periodically over the past month, when I have a free minute. I really just have an odd question for them, but every time they put me on a hold. I've held upwards of fifteen minutes listening to the terrible elevator music and the ironic message of, "at Murdock Hyundai we value our customers time." Basically I'm going to another service center because it's evident my time is not important.

Erin was congenial and knowledgeable sales rep. She made me feel that she took my needs into consideration. It was a pleasure working with her. A number of days after I happily drove off with my beautiful Honda Fit I needed to get a small problem resolved. Phone service was less than desirable. I was sent from one department to another, the last one with a 20 minute will hold before I got a response. Erin was out that day and at one point I was giving her extension. I think I expected the receptionist to know that she was not there, so that she wouldn't direct me to her. This could've been an isolated experience, and I wouldn't take it into consideration when buying a car at Murray Hyundai.

He told me my trade in value of my car, and discounted the new one, I agreed and I went to the finance officer and it was done. All in about 2 hours. Clean cut and done. Perfect.

I am very happy with my car. I loved my sales person Erin. She was professional yet personable. She made me very comfortable with all of the knowledge she had about the vehicle. I have already told several people about my experience. The only thing I was unhappy with was my car is brand new and when they brought the car to me the windows on the inside were dirty and streaked. I didn't notice it until I was in the sun. I went back to get my plates and a car wash and asked them if they could clean the windows. The wash wasn't very good and they didn't dry it all the way and then didn't wipe down the windshield or back windows on the inside like I asked. I normally wouldn't ask for something like the inside of the windows, but since they were done pretty crappie the first time I thought they could fix them.

Take a look for your self

Upon going to this desler , it was my second time returning had purchased one CaR from them 2 years prior to this one. They were nice to work with , however the bulk of my time several hours was just wasted awaiting banks responses . also the car had pictures that were not accurate of the features it had which was dispaointing. It showed ventilated seats, a panoramic roof, neither of which did the car actually have. After wasting 4 days and tons of time I was exhausted and just wanted a car, also the factory would not send me the sport 2.0 t I wanted so I ended up with the limited and paying the price of a limited 2.0T sport so I'm kind of fluustered but nothing I can really do now, its most disapointing because really the only thing I could ask more is just for the turbo I would not even care if it was installed in my current Car, it would make the perfect dream car, and I could not ask for more

You Better Keep all receipts for everything with this Dealer

Went to Murdock Hyundai to get car serviced and ran into a problem with my engine which should have been in warranty. They said before they could fix the Hyundai under warranty they would need to see my service records. Meaning times I had changed the oil ( dates, sales receipts for oil, mileage, and addition of fluids such as coolant and air filters ( receipts - dates , also made remarks that I should have used Hyundai OEM parts and filters. ) Long story short they would not fix my Hyundai under warranty even though it was under 30K miles and less than 3 years old. Throw out the window the 10 year warranty thing unless you have taken it to a dealership for every and I mean every little maintaince thing. Very deceptive and rude service department. I would never even think of purchasing another Hyundai or buy or service my car from this dealership.

Good Service is Always Best

This is my 2nd car I've leased from your dealership because of how much I appreciate the customer service (the car is nice also). I have leased other cars but never went back to the same dealer before because I felt I didn't get treated well after I had the car and they had my money. The place to buy a Hyundai

I have purchased numerous cars through the years and have had good and bad experiences. But my experience at Murdock Hyundai in Murray was exceptionally excellent. Sales were professional and not pushy. Everything was explained to me and a car was not pushed on me. I had a tow hitch scheduled for the following weekend to be installed and the service department was also excellent. I will go back to Murdock for my next car and would recommend them to everybody.

Buying my car was a blast!

Erin Sorensen was my sales rep and we really connected on the phone when she called to follow up on a website question.. We setup an appointment and I had a wonderful buying experience. Everyone was very professional that I spoke to even though it was terribly busy and the computers were down due to a power outage. There was a great party atmosphere waiting the few minutes it took for the power to come on, free food and I had Candy Floss for the first time since I was a little kid!!

I keep coming back

I anticipate purchasing a 4th and 5th veh from Jason Creech. Hope he is with Murdock for a long time. In the past it has given me anxiety to even think of waking into a car dealership. I have wanted to look at other manufactures in the past, but have stuck with Hyundai so I don't have to deal with the other jack wagon's in the car business. And as a bonus I always get a great car with a great warranty.

Sam and Scott were both excellent and showed genuine customer service. However, our experience with Brett the finance employee was not. His manner was very crude. I have bought many cars over the years. Murdock Hyundai is by far my favorite place to purchase cars. They treat me like a family member-- their favorite uncle. They give me great prices and make it so easy to buy from them. There is no hassle. I get a little nervous about asking them for something extra-- because they usually give it to me. I don't want to be that ungrateful relative. I am not sure if they treat everyone that way--but it is how they treat me. I feel like they are my friends-- before and after the sale. Best service I've ever had from a car dealer!!!

We had such a great experience with Murdock in Murray. First, I worked with Erin who worked with me for a few days and was really helpful identifying the vehicle we were looking for and helped schedule a time with us. Then, when we went in we worked with Mike Marsh who was very friendly and did a great job answering all of our questions and spent a lot of time with me in the evening working out the cost differences between all the vehicles we were looking at. He didn't pressure is at all and we were able to think on it over the weekend. When I came back the next Monday I worked with Brock, a sales manager, and he wrapped everything up for us. Brock was very professional and curteous and made sure we got everything we were looking for! Such a good guy. During the whole process, Erin repeatedly checked in on me to see how things were going, helped us with our crazy kids, and was just genuinely kind throughout the whole process. Everyone we worked with was phenomenal! Such incredible customer service! Even though we worked with 3 different people, I never had the feeling that they were stepping on each other's toes, or that I could only work with one person, or anything like that. A great dealership experience

I actually work as a loan officer for a local financial institution and I hear so many awful reviews about dealerships in the area, Murdock Hyundai is not one of those, and my experience there was no different, it was a great straightforward experience, the longest part was my wife and I deciding which vehicle we wanted. Everything was presented in an understandable manner and I could tell that the salesperson only had our best interests in mind during the transaction and even stayed late to make sure that we were well taken care of. It was a great experience!!

My husband and I knew our lease was coming to an end. It was a stressful time and we could have easily forgotten, if not for the friendly reminders we received from Murdock Murray. We were mailed information that made it easy to determine if we would face any charges when we returned the vehicle. We made the decision to make an appointment with the dealership and went in to discuss our options. As always, we were treated like family. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff at Murdock Murray is why we keep coming back. We left that day, having turned in our vehicle (with no return charges!) and drove away the next day in a brand new vehicle that matched our needs perfectly. We could not have been more pleased with our experience.

Best car buying experience ever

Hands down the best car buying experience of my life. Dain Murdock was just awesome. Knowledgeable, professional, courteous, helpful...can't say enough good things about this young man. In addition to helping us find the exact car we wanted at the exact payment, he was NOT high pressure in any way shape or form. He just did his job and did it well. While we were there we had other employees stop by where we were sitting to chat, check on us, and make sure we were being taken care of. Also, the whole process was fast. I had heard Hyundai was number one as far as cars. My neighbor has one and loves it, my son has one that has over 150,000 miles on it and said put brakes on once and tires twice other than that said best car he has ever own. An ode to Sam

I left a review on an earlier page... I will say we brought our other Hyundai in for an oil change and to have the tires rotated. When we got home the receipt said there was a lug nut missing. When we checked it was still missing and we had to drive back to dealer to get one put on. We thought that was a little funky to say the least. Who sends a car down the road with a missing lug nut ?

Fantastic Dealership!

I had a fantastic experience at Murdock Hyundai. I had previously purchased another Hyundai at a different dealership in town and did not have a great experience so I decided to try Murdock. Brad (my salesperson) was outstanding. He did an excellent job of helping us on both test drives and thoroughly explained all of the features of the vehicle. The financing process was quick and smooth and without issue. I will absolutely recommend Murdock Hyundai to my friends and family!

Most Regrettable Purchase

I experienced the worse service today from Darren Pugh. From this experience I learned that I'd never want to do business with you again. This car sales men represents the image that all buying customer's fear. I purchased a brand new 2016 SUV in December 2015. My purchase agreement was verbally sealed with 5 free oil changes. I went in today to take care of my first oil change and left with a nightmare experience. The mechanics did not have record of the oil changes which caused Darren to be involved. He spent a few minutes locating the information we had agreed on, and advised me that he did not recall offering that to me. This all being said after my car was already serviced. He stated that he believed what I was telling him, but proceeded to locate proof through paperwork within his desk, through the contract agreement information upstairs, as well as involving his manager. After not locating the information he told me not to worry and that he'd ensure this oil change was taken care of. At this point my mother in law and I had spent almost 2 hrs at your location in Murray. So we told him to forget about the paperwork. I explained to him that I wasn't feeling well due to a strain of my vocal cords and could not talk anymore. That's when my mother in law was explaining that I wouldn't lie to him about the oil changes. She explained that she recalls that we discussed that information with her when we purchased the vehicle and asked him why he would think that I'd lie to him about that. That's when Darren pointed his finger at her and asked her if she was involved in the purchase because he doesn't recall her being there. He stated that he can only discuss all of this with me, knowing I have a horrible hoarse voice. She stated that she is helping me due to the strain of my voice as I shouldn't even be talking, per doctors orders. Darren did not like this. He stated, "Fine. She should not be talking then (pointed at me), so you tell me what she is trying to say." My mother in law advised him that she had already told him what I was explaining and that she's not afraid to explain anything further if I needed her to. She stated it's clear that you don't want her to talk, but that she had to for my sake. His mannerism completely changed, his mood was aggravated because she was my voice due to my situation and began raising his voice. That's when he got up and told us to wait. He stated that he'd go figure things out. I watched him walk back over to his managers enclosed area to discuss whatever he was doing. When he came back, I told him that I was completely done. With my throat inflamed I became outraged. As loud as my voice would come out, I began expressing everything on my mind regardless whether I should be talking or not. I proceeded to tell him, "How dare you talk to her like that when she's helping me. What kind of person disrespects his customers? I paid over 30K for my car and you were there to make the sale through everything. Now you're making a fuss over an oil change? You remind me of my girlfriends experience with her car sales men named Brody. You're the spitting image as to why customer's hate purchasing cars because all sales men are out for the money, not the customers. How would you feel if that was your wife being treated like this if she had no voice? How about your family? You're unbelievable and my mother in law did not deserve an ounce of your attitude when she was only helping me, as you can tell from my voice." Darren stated I need to talk to someone about my complaints and that he'd get someone right away. I told him he better. I then pointed at Blake's office and asked him to get him right away. I told him I'd be happy to express my feelings towards my experience and Darren's attitude. I followed him that direction and Blake was not there. I told him to find him, or I'd write a review with exactly what happened. He then found his manager who came and talked to us. The manager, Ryan Knight, profusely apologized and advised that he's never to talk to us again going forward. He handed us the paperwork showing we had 5 free oil changes and he'd deduct 1 from today, since the service was accepted. He reassured me that he would input the information into the computer and that the service department have it in theirs. I appreciated him stepping in and offering this gesture. I unfortunately am not sure I will accept taking advantage of the offers, due to the disgust I feel towards my experience. I explained to Ryan that it's people like Darren that ruin customer's experiences. I don't return to purchase vehicles from this location, because of sales men like him. I return because of the quality of the vehicles. I explained that after today, I have no trust that I'd return to make future purchases. Ryan apologized and again reassured that the oil changes were being taken care of. That was the end of my experience. I am now home outraged with the entire situation. My voice is completely shot and my throat is in excruciating pain. I know that it was not safe for me to react and use my voice the way that I did, but I had no choice but to defend my mother in law who was only caring about my health. I feel that this experience deserves to be heard and major compensation be done for such experience. It's saddening that this happened over oil changes that he couldn't remember, yet he clearly recalled her not being there for the purchase. I'm in complete distraught over this.

Good Overall Experience

My experience buying a car from this dealership was much more laid back than I had anticipated. At no point did I feel pressured by my sales representative Suzy and on the contrary she was honestly helpful informing me of a promotion and ultimately getting me into a vehicle I am happy with at a very reasonable price.

Getting a new car is a big deal!

Over all my experience was very satisfactory. One small issue was the color of the car. (Actually it was a large issue.) I had picked out a color on the Sante Fe and then when I changed to the Tucson it was not explained to me that the red on the Sante Fe was not available on the Tucson. Imagine my surprise when I came to pick the car up and it was not the color I was expecting! I do like my car very much and the color is great when the sun is shining on it....otherwise it is a little too dark. I decided not to exchange it, but appreciated the offer anyway.
