I was looking for a used car and stumbled on Mount Airy Toyota. They had the exact car I wanted, so I called them and spoke with salesman Josh. Josh was very professional and very quick to assist me with the entire process. I purchased from out of state and he assisted me the entire process and kept in constant contact to let me know where the car and paperwork stood. I would absolutely recommend Mount Airy Toyota and Josh to anyone and everyone who is trying to purchase a car for a reasonable price and quick service.

Pitiful excuse of a Toyota Service Department

I purchased my 2016 Toyota Tacoma in December of 2015 it was actually only 1 of 2 White 4 door TRD Off Roads to be delivered to Toyota of The SouthEast, so my choices of dealers was slim picking due to the specific color I was after. After much deliberating on the pricing I was able to go home with this vehicle, absolutely loved it until about 5000 miles. The transmission was shifting so erratically and actually once missed a gear going up a steep grade in virginia at highway speeds and shook the truck so hard I thought the transmission fell to the ground. Once I got back home from my trip I took it to Mt. Airy Toyota service department whom of which is incapable of answering the phone to even the president himself. So after multiple days and many phone calls unanswered, I went to the dealer anyhow. Once there I was told there would be a 2 hour wait on top of the vehicle diagnosis. I told them I had repeatedly called and tried to make an appointment, but they somehow they couldn't answer the phone. Unhappy about the wait, I approached the Manager and told him it's a pitiful excuse to be unable to reach the department responsible for servicing my $40k truck that I purchased from his dealership. I was told that he would take care of the issue. So back to my wait time that had only elapsed 15 mins by this time, I waited and waited, saw my truck was still where I had parked it, and after the 2 hours, I saw they took it back. Another 45 mins later I was approached by the service department manager who told me they couldn't find any issues, that it had not shown any codes for malfunction , and they were unable to make the vehicle shift erratically in any way whatsoever. I was told that anything that may have happened is "Normal" and that if I experienced any more issues to call and make another appointment for another look. I love it when I hear the word "Normal" from a new car dealer, this pretty much means, "I'm too lazy to look any further into this and going to use an excuse to get this person out of here". Unhappy to say the least I left and went home and did lots of research. Come to find out THOUSANDS of people had this exact same complaint. At this point you know you're right with your statements and know something is up. Once again I called, NO ANSWER. I didn't waste my time with this trip. I took it to another dealer, who ANSWERED their phones and were able to figure out my truck was low on transmission fluid. So as you can see, something so small that was supposedly checked on my 5000 mile oil change was never checked at all, clearly the whole department themselves do not care. I will never ever take my cars back there again.

I went to Mt. Airy Toyota to look at a new truck. I was met by a salesmen named Mark Billings with a very nice smiling welcoming attitude. He was very helpful in giving me all the details about the truck I was looking at. I test drove the truck and discussed cost which he was very helpful with. After my visit Mr. Billings called me to thank me for my time and for coming in. After dealing with Mr. Billings and the way he treated me there was no need to contiune to look. I went back to the dealership and requested some additions to the truck which were taken care of and I now am driving my first beautiful toyota truck. Mr. Billings called after I had picked up my truck just to make sure I was pleased with everything. I spoke with the GM as well and he was very pleasent as well. In all my whole experice with Mt. Airy Toyota was great.

I was from out of town and looking in to purchasing a used Toyota from a smaller, private dealer in the area. Prior to purchasing the vehicle I wanted to have a certified mechanic check it for any and all issues. A Toyota dealer seemed like seemed like the ideal place to have this done. I was HORRIBLY WRONG. After looking at the car, they said it was in great shape. Then proceeded to try to up-sell me on a timing belt and water pump - to a vehicle I didn't even own yet. This should have been my sign. After purchasing the car it started leaking gas due to the excessive rusting under the car. The rusting is substantial, unmistakeable and certainly effects the car's value and life span. There is no way Mt. Airy Toyota did anything more than hook this car up to the computer. Honestly I doubt if they even did that. I had to contact them 10+ times to get any type of response. In the end they refunded the cost of the "inspection". The whole reason I took this car there was to avoid spending $10,000 on a bad investment. There are actually patches under the car and in the wheel wells to hide the rust. Somehow they didn't see this. Their final and "best" excuse was, "Since we are so close to Virginia we see a lot of cars that have been in the snow." Seriously?... Now they just want me to go away. STAY AWAY! Do not trust this service department. Lots of excuses, poor workmanship, poor follow-up and poor customer service. Worst experience I have ever had.

My wife and I recently purchased a new vehicle from the good folks at Mount Airy Toyota, and we were blown away with how easy the process was. From the initial telephone call (where we made our offer, which was accepted), to the attention they gave to getting us just the right vehicle, and even to the time they spent patiently going over the features of the car, every part of our experience with Mount Airy Toyota was just easy. We called several dealers around, and these guys were the only ones who were willing to work with us. We got a great car at an unbeatable price, and we got to meet some fine people in the process! Highly recommended!
