Dear Dealer rater review: I have a story to tell about how a car dealership goes beyond a 10 rating to really care for there customers, I hope that you take the time to read it. I have been a resident in South Lake Tahoe for 42 years and recently I have noticed an increase of people buying from Michael Hohl, including my sister. The reason why I mentioned that I live in South Lake Tahoe is because we get severe winter storms and really need a all wheel drive dependable car. About two years ago I purchased a used Honda outside of town, which included a warrenty. I thought that the warranty that I purchased covered major motor of which made me feel secure. I started to have an issue with my vehicle so I scheduled a service, with Michael Hohl Honda, I already had had an interaction with the service advisor Darren about unusual behaviour of my car of which Darren with out an appointment shared much knowledge and reassurance for me at that time. So then Darren the service adviser, reviewed my warranty and gladly scheduled an appointment. I came in and I was informed that my deductible was $100.00. I asked Darren of the price of the service if I did not have the warranty, he informed me that it was $400.00 . He then called me a couple of hours later as the car was expected to take a half of day, and informed me that my warranty did not cover the problem. My heart sunk, I work out of town and I thought how will I get to work? His next comment was we are going to round it off and charge you $150.00 I thanked him more than once and was greatly relieved. I could hardly believe that they were so generous of only charging me $150.! Then when I came to pick up my vehicle I inquired about warranty's and if they had a better one for used cars then mine, Darren said yes and took the time to explain them to me. I then inquired if I could speak to someone about perhaps purchasing a car with a better warranty. He then introduced me to Jamie the finance director. I immediately told him that I was not interested in the typical way a customer looks at a car, all that I cared about was the practical aspects of the warranty, service contract, credit rating, decent car payments, good interst rates, etc. He listened well to my requests and then told me that I did need to test drive to find out which vehicle I was interested in so then I met Joey, while I was sitting at Joeys desk I also met Danny the store manager, who told me that I came in at the best time of the year of which an hour ago he opened up the end of the year clearence, and explained to me the deals, low percent interst etc. He also told me that he would reimburse the $150.00 to me. Then Jamie spoke with Danny and they said that my credit rating was good enough and that I could proceed to look for the vehicale of my choice. (amazing)! After inquiring on the type of vehchile desired I test drove a Honda CRV, then updated to the next model.During the driveJamie had a gentle demeanor, I enjoyed listening to him as he shared the features with me. He listened well to me as I shared with him information about myself as well and how I needed a reliable car. I also want to reiterate that Jamie honered how I wanted to be presented, I did not look at the vehicale out of sales emotionalism as some dealers sell cars,He showed me the step of looking at a vehicale after I was reassured that I qualifed even for a new one. I ended up getting a new car with 1.9 percent interest, which I think is unheard of, remibursment of my $150, plus an incredible service plan, and a covering of major motor, plus many other benifits! That was amazing! I have had this car now for 3 days and there service team is definitely over a 10, it is actually more like a miracle for me.Long ago I was raised with" well you better stay away from car dealerships because they will not give you a good deal", now I have to eat those words that I once believed!Everyone that I met was patient, honest, sincere, and generous with me, I thank God for them and wish them many blessings. Now I know why there are so many drivers in my town having a trim cover of a licence plate with Michael Hohl name on it. Not to mention that locals in Carson City have also told me that they have a good reputation, now I know why they have a good reputation. Unfortunately these days when you receive good service at a store/restaurant/dealer it really stands out, as it is most common to receive poor service. At Michael Hohl Honda in Carson I was in for a pleasant surprise; everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to provided the easiest car buying experience i have had. They beat the abysmally low trade value i was being offered in neighboring city (reno) and also had the best price around on my new car (2016 Accord). As a general rule, i never write online reviews, so you can be sure that this represents the highest level of praise. Even during some of the few delays I faced (waiting for credit approval and such) Maria stayed with me, chatted and kept me entertained so that it did not seem like a long wait at all.

Danny helped me get out of a lease I was upside down in, almost $3,000. And was able to get me into a New Honda Accord with equity. He got me out of a negative into a positive. And I like the new car.Also, Joey and Raffy where great to work with. Joey was so patient, I did not really know what I wanted. We drove at least 3 RVs. I told him I was going to go drive the Prius at a competitor and he was still friendly. Hey told me his boss offered me $1000 under dealers invoice if I bought from them, since it was the last day of the month And my Birthday. I drove the Prius which was very noisy, I was shocked, came back and bought a Honda Accord, what a beauty, the Sport model. I should have gotten a higher end model with more upgrades, like GPS but it will be fine. Danny gave me some really good financing and extra warranty. And Autumn was really nice for the financing/(ugh) paperwork Thank you all.

I live in California and was in Tahoe vacationing. I was in the market for a new Honda CR-V and my plan was to wait another 30 days for my credit score to reflect my recent payoffs. I came in because I wanted to sit in a CR-V without a sunroof to make sure the headliner didn't hit my head. My wife and me were greeted as we got out of our car and I told my story and what I wanted to do. Ryan was asked to assist us. He took us to a beautiful gray CR-V and when I sat in it I knew I was going to make the right choice. Ryan said he respected my wishes and wanted to let me know what they could do and even if I didn't go further I would have a lot more information than I had about buying the car.We went inside and after a few minutes we met Danny, the Sales Manager of the Dealership. Ryan had already told us about the sales philosophy of the Dealership, and Danny expanded on it. They are about moving vehicles. They have the MSRP and then they show you the cost of what they pay for the vehicle. They price the vehicle just $500-$1000 over their cost. That is the floor price. No haggle, no hassle, no pressure. I was liking this place already! Who REALLY wants to do the back and forth of negotiating?So then they talked about my trade in (which was still at my house in California) and they are a Kelly Blue Book Certified Dealership so they offer the top line on trade-ins. I was getting to like this even more...We talked about paying. I said I wanted Honda financing as they have been very easy to work with when we bought our 2012 Civic at a local dealer in California. I said I wanted a 5 year term, and a payment in a certain range. Ryan and Danny punched it in and said without even trying, and no money down, they could get my payment to $50 above what I said and showed me the breakdown of how much each $1,000 affects the payment. I chose to have the no money down. We added GAP insurance, and if you don't do that as a new vehicle buyer you are just stupid. Why? because nobody PLANS to wreck their new car, but life happens. Don't get caught owing thousands of dollars for a totaled car. Get the GAP insurance.We added the maintenance plan and this was all BEFORE we did a credit app.My wife can't drive all that far due to an injury, so she was wondering how we were going to get the two cars home. Without a hesitation, Ryan and Danny said 'We are a Red Carpet Dealer, leave your car here, drive the new car home, and we will drive your car to you and pick up the trade in'. No other dealer I've ever been to would do that!Jamie in the Finance office was the easiest and nicest guy to deal with also. He had everything lined up, went over all the papers and explained what they were, and we were out the door to explore my new car in no time!I am SO impressed by this Dealer, Danny, Ryan, Jamie, and the rest of the staff there. I never ever thought about going to Nevada to buy a car, BUT, I'm talking with my wife now and planning our next purchase. We will get an Accord with all the bells and whistles, and I know right where I'm going to go...right on up to Carson City and the BEST Dealer EVER! Michael Hohl Honda!

We ended up buying our car out of state when we had a run in with a DEER! They still called us to tell us if we needed anything that they would be here for us.We just got new phones and could not learn half the commands for our blue tooth and set up in our car. The lady who had called us to offer help was off the day we would be in and she not only arranged for a coworker to spend time with us but also offered to come in and help if he could not answer our questions or program our phones. Contacted them online about a Civic I wanted to test drive and got a phone call within an hour or so. Crystal called and set up a time for me to come in. She introduced me to Jose my salesman and we went for my first test drive. Jose was nice and not at all pushy. He answered all of my questions and addressed my hesitation with the car we were in. When we got back he showed me a new 2015 Civic EX (the test drive had been a used SI) and we took another drive around in the new car. I wasn't in a hurry to buy a car but mine was old and had it's own issues so I was in the market to trade it in. Joe offered me a fair trade on my 14 year old car and ended up selling me the new Civic for less than the used one. I did go in looking for an SI but in the end the EX is a better idea for the sheer number of speeding tickets a bright orange SI would have gotten me. And I hate the color orange :)

Sales manager, Danny Pena provided us with the best deal possible for the CR-V we purchased and is a very cooperative and friendly individual. I came in with my wife and two kids after speaking with AUTUMN on the phone. She had my new CR-V pulled up cleaned out ready to go, and HOLLY showed my wife and I our new car. Being an out of state resident and having an "odd" situation my paper work took longer than expected, and my kids were getting anxious DANNY gave us a purchase agreement so we could come back the next day to finish up, and was able to take the car home. (he offered to send someone to my house which is an hour away to fill out the papers!!!!)The following day i went to sign the papers inquired about a year newer vehicle, long story short, they re-did the paper work and ended up getting the better deal. AUTUMN, HOLLY, and DANNY jumped through hoops to help me and my family out and it was a pleasure working with them.On my way out of the parking lot i saw a F-150 on there lot, i called DANNY and asked about it, he said, "man if you'r gonna buy two cars from me today, I'll cut your a great deal!" and he delivered. I also dealt with JOEY for the paperwork, turns out he was awesome too. I couldn't be happier with my deals I made and the staff that I dealt with I would recommend with enthusiasm to everyone, thanks a lot AUTUMN, HOLLY, JOEY and DANNY!

I am a 73 year old retired Marine Engineer and have dreaded the car buying process my entire life. I wanted to trade in my 2012 Honda Civic for a 2015 model and after visiting other dealerships, I came to Carson City Honda dealer Michael Hohl with exactly what I wanted in mind so I asked to see someone that could make a monetary decision and not a salesman (whom I was sure would talk about cup holders, gas mileage, Pandora compatibility and such.) I knew what I wanted and needed to see someone who could discuss price without having to see someone else. That someone turned out to be Joe Dazzo. He walked me through his pricing philosophy in detail without ranging into talk of free tires for life or floor mats and other trifles. It was business without the regular distractions and grounded in solid information. It was very impressive and at a price that was well over a thousand dollars lower than what I had expected after a lot of research. Well Done Joe. (And his detail man, Joey Hunt!)

All I can say is that I am in shock about our experience. The first salesmen was nice enough but then the sales manager came over to tell us how awesome he is at his job in a pompous way and that they are totally transparent, which should be clue #1. Trade in value was a total lowball and the actual price of the car was obviously jacked up from the MSRP to THEIR own made up MSRP and the whole time you are told what a great deal you are getting. We questioned the sales maganer, Danny, about the numbers and he lost his cool. He yelled at us and told us to take our business elsewhere, that we wouldn't get a better deal there either. We walked out and as we were leaving, he was still ranting. We were ready to purchase new, so a deal lost there. I currently own a Honda but I will never set foot in that place again, not even the service department. Customer service is dead and gone!!!!

I want to share my less than satisfied experience in dealing with Michael Hohl sales department. I received an online price quote for a brand new Honda Civic for $19,300. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay but after some thought for a day or two, I went down to purchase the vehicle (even brought my father to drop me off) and I was informed that they would not honor the price because of upgrades on the vehicle. The upgrades were shown in the price and were part of the online price I was given. In the end they wanted an additional $3,000 dollars for the vehicle. Obviously, I did not purchase it and I am not happy with the sales practices of Michael Hohl. This was nothing more than a bait and switch tactic. Michael Hohl lost a $20,000 sale. If you offer a price quote, that the right thing to do is to honor that price.

Earlier this year I took my 2005 Honda Civic Coupe to Michael Hohl Honda in Carson City with a head gasket issue. I explained to Tim that I had my trusted mechanic friend take a look at it, and he determined that the trouble surrounded my head gasket. Unfortunately, my trusted mechanic moved to Hawaii shortly after diagnosing my car, so he was unable to fix the problem. I had just moved to the Tahoe area, and I thought that taking it to a Honda dealer would be the best move (they aren't supposed to screw you at the dealership, right?) so I took it to Michael Hohl. Tim said his team ran diagnostics tests on it and determined the head gasket wasn't the problem, but the radiator and fans instead. I was positive the trouble was the head gasket, but Tim seemed to be sure of himself, so they replaced everything around the head gasket instead. My car was in the shop there for a few weeks, I spent over $1100 to completed Tim's recommended issues, but when I finally got it back it immediately overheated--leaving me stranded on the side of the road, waiting half a day for the tow truck to arrive. I gave Tim an earful on the phone; if he had trusted my judgment in the beginning and replaced the head gasket (like I asked), I wouldn't have been stranded. Later, someone from Honda called and asked me to give a review of my experience; I was honest and told them of my disappointment with Michael Hohl, prompting Tim to take back my car and fix the head gasket (for no extra charge). My car was with them for another couple of weeks. When I finally got it back, I drove it for a couple of days and it started having issues again. The engine would lug, and cough, when I got to 4000 RPMs. I called Tim and told him of the trouble, he was so annoyed with me that he told me to find someone else to replace my spark plugs. I had someone else replace my spark plugs, but that did not resolve the issue. A few weeks ago, I took my car to Miata Honda in Citrus Heights. They took my head gasket apart and determined that the recent trouble (lugging at 4000 RPMs) was due to a lose bolt on one of the rocker arms and an improperly grounded wire--both were related to the previous head gasket work done at Michael Hohl. Mariana Lazaro in Citrus Heights recommended that I call Michael Hohl and ask them to reimburse me for the work that was done related to the head gasket. When I did so, Tim was curt and told me Steve would call me back on the following business day. Steve did not call. I have left several messages for Tim and Steve, detailing my conversations with Miata Honda, but no one will return my call. $936 of my bill was directly related to Michael Hohl's shoddy mechanic work and I deserve to be reimbursed. This is the WORST service I have ever gotten from a dealership and I will NEVER patron their service department again. Miata Honda in Citrus Heights was fabulous, I will go to them from now on.

From my first telephone call, to the personal delivery of my brand new Honda Ridgeline to my home, Monique Graham and the entire Hohl Honda organization were very pleasant, professional and honestly direct. Honda sells itself. But it was the quality service and personal attention to detail that really "sold" me on this Honda specifically from this dealer.

Monique was very helpful and attentive to our families needs. She helped us pick out exactly what would work for us as far as a vehicle goes and what we would be able to afford. We never felt pressured in to making a purchase and actually ended up purchasing one civic and leasing a second- in less time than it normally takes to buy one car. She even helped us pick out our civic that was not even on site- Picked out exactly what we wanted and had it delivered to the dealership! We couldn't have been happier. Monique even called to check up on us to make sure we were still in LOVE with our new Hondas- which of course we are!!! We recommend all our friends and family go see Monique at Michael Hohl Honda for their vehicle needs. We won't go anywhere else!

I had a great experience at Michael Hohl Honda and would highly recommend them. I live in Reno and decided to head south after feeling like I was getting the run around at a Reno dealership. I came in knowing how much my trade in was worth, and knowing what payment I wanted. I called first and gave them all of my specifics first to make sure we could make a deal without wasting anyone's time. I was firm on the payment and told them that upfront. They treated me with respect and they were even great with my 5-year old Son. There was no back and forth with them trying to get a higher payment out of me and no attempt to up sell me on a fancier car. I drove away in my new car in less than 2 hours, including all paperwork, detailing new car, cleaning out junk in my trade in, etc., which is priceless when you have your child with you. I worked with Gordon and Levi, so be sure to ask for them. And Levi even met me in Reno to pick up my spare set of keys for my trade in, which saved me a trip back. If you live in Reno, it's worth the trip to Carson. I will definitely return the next time we need a car.

My experience with this dealership and Gordon McEachin personally, was probably the best experience ever leasing/buying a car. Gordon was extremely personable, as well as everyone else I dealt with (Levi & Derek). The whole transition was smooth, quick and unintimidating. I don't think I've ever been in and out of a dealership, so quickly and easy. Everyone truly made my experience worthwhile! I will and already have recommended this dealership. It truly was the best ever! I also appreciated how comfortable everyone made me feel, like a family member. That was pretty awesome and special to me! Another excellent experience at Hohl's Honda/Subaru. '04 I bought my Impreza there. The post sales services were always done right and the car ready at the promised time. In '07 I was in CA and drove a Honda Element. Just loved the practicality/size of the car. When I returned to C.C. I drove to Hohl's before I even went home. They didn't have the exact car there but we made the deal/trade while it was being delivered. It arrived colored and equipped exactly as promised and I drove it home that day. Again, post sales services done right and car always ready as promised.So finally, my friend wants a new affordable SUV and I take her to Hohl's. She trades her car for a new Honda CRV. She get's top "trade in $$" and we haven't seen that CRV sold anywhere for less. After the deal I present them with a "coupon" (on your next purchase, make your best deal then present this coupon and receive $300 off the deal you just made). This coupon is 5 years old. I got it from Hohl's when I bought the Element! The G.M. says "honor it". When the sales contract get's signed we failed to notice that the $300 was not included. The next day THEY call and inform us of their error. For our trouble of driving back in from Dayton to re-sign, they "throw in" a rear cargo mat!Hohl's has demonstrated over a long period that they want to keep customers for life. I not only recommend them, I have committed to them that we will not buy a car from anyone but them. Not off the internet, Reno or anywhere else. Even if we want a Ford or a Toyota we will go to them and buy an equivalent from their line-up.

Our experience at Michael Hohl Honda was wonderful as it has always been for me in the past. We actually just went in for an oil change with no plans to buy a car. While looking around the lot we met up with Gordon McEachin who was incredibly helpful! He helped us out of our 2007 CR-V (with almost 100,000 miles and no warantee) and in to a brandnew 2012 CR-V... w/ a warantee!! It's amazing and so was our deal!!! We told him our budget and what we could work with and he made it happen for us! Gordon didn't pressure us in to a sale what-so-ever.. everything he suggested just made sense. This is my fourth purchase from Michael Hohl Honda in Carson City and this was my best experience yet. It's the only dealership I recommend! Thanks Gordon- and yes we are still lovin our 2012 CR-V!!! :)

Dropped into the lot on a whim after breakfast, was greeted by Dustin and Rodney, both very helpful, courteous, and informative - VERY PROFESSIONAL and patient. We test drove a few cars, were shown a number of cars finally selected a Honda Civic. The guys appraised our 07 GMC Canyon bought from your GMC dealership in 08 We made a deal- got a sharp looking car which will save us gasoline costs and give us a lower payment.I have worked as a fleet manager, salesman, service manager and done F&I in the motorcycle and automotive industry -In my experience these guys are a great team both for the dealership and for me , the customer. While there I had a need to use a computer for hooking my son up with some money I was helped out without hesitation.
