Working with Ted Anderson and staff at McKenney Salinas Honda could not have been a better experience. They took the pressure out of buying a used car. They have removed the back and forth of the sales person trying to buy a car like in the pass. The 2014 Pilot we purchased was priced fairly. We had been looking for a car for many months and knew this was a good deal. We are a repeat buyer from this dealership. It took us 12 years and 260,000 miles on the 2004 Pilot to return. I can only hope that this Pilot will serve us as well. Good maintenance is the key to keeping a car running this long and also it was a Honda.We had a few items added to the Pilot and they were very accommodating on the installation and pricing. The install went in a timely manner. Thank you Chris.The financing was also easy and no pressure to buy the warranties. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.

I brought my car to be service by McKenney Salinas Honda in September, 2016 for a routine Timing Belt package for $699.00. I set up a time to drop off my car with Jasper Powe on Monday. I came on Monday and everything went as planned and I was able to get a loaner car. I brought the loaner car back the next day on Tuesday because I was told my car was ready. I came and got my car and Jasper Powe was very courteous and thanked me for my service. He did inform me that my radiator needed a new top and I told it was ok to put a new cap on. I paid and left for work. When I got to my job in Gastonia my car was smoking and I had a guy at my job to look under the hood of my car. I seen the hose was unattached and coolant Leaking out on the ground with smoke. I called Jasper and he had some technicians to come out to my job and escorted my car and I back to the dealership. I was told they had seen that problem with the radiator before I picked up my car but it was no problem at the dealership. About this time, I was very frustrated because I am missing time from work. I bought my car in for a Timing belt change not for the Radiator to be fixed too. Jasper was very helpful and I appreciated Jasper showing me the problem and what needed to be done on the radiator but I was still upset. I was told that I needed to buy a new hose for the radiator. I bought a new hose at the dealership then the hose didn't work because it was too small. So I took it back to parts and got my money refunded on my card which took Wells Fargo bank 3 days to refund my money on my card. So they used my old hose and were able to fix my radiator but I was told that I had to pay for the labor and the parts which was expensive. I had just finished paying over $750.00 for the Timing belt plus tax and a radiator cap. So i was already upset and now looking at paying almost $1000 dollars. I asked Jasper to speak with the manager Jimmy poole. I explained my situation to Jimmy and he gave me a discount on fixing my radiator. I felt like it was really not my fault that something happen with my radiator when I brought my car initially into the dealership for a Timing belt change. When I brought my car into McKenney Salinas Honda on Monday there was no smoking and no problem with the radiator. So something had to have happened in the shop. I think when the technician was taking the hoses apart for the timing belt that he didn't do a good job in putting the hoses back together. I felt like I should not have been charged for the radiator because I had spent 3 days trying to get my car taken care of and I was so tired. I was so frustrated because I brought my car in for a timing belt package and ended up.paying an additional charges for a radiator in my car. Like I said when I brought my car in on Monday there was no radiator problems. I appreciate Jasper Powe being professional and nice in helping me but I felt like it was not fair and even though I got a discount it should have been free for the radiator due to I didn't come in at first with that problem.

After test driving and dealing with high pressure sales people at several local dealerships, we were understandably not looking forward to visiting yet another dealership. However, after meeting and talking with Ted Anderson at McKenney Salinas Honda, we were instantly reassured that we had found the right dealership and the right car. Ted and staff at McKenney made the entire process painless, and actually very pleasant. After a test drive, the numbers on the new car and our trade were presented factually and professionally as opposed to nothing being presented in writing at the other dealerships. We felt the deal offered was exceptional. Overall, our treatment at McKenney Salinas Honda was excellent, and I would not hesitate to recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.

I bought my vehicle, 2008 Chrysler 300, from Mckenny Salinas three years ago. The buying process went well, good sales person also. However, the dealership seems to have difficulty servicing anything other than a Honda. The breaks on our car where repaired several times because they weren't done correctly the first time. Both front and rear brakes were replaced. My brakes light is illuminated continuously now. I went in on Saturday Oct. 22, 2016 to have an inspection done at this dealership because the brake light is on. What should have been a 30 minute wait turned into 2 1/2 hours because they finished the car in 30 minutes but neglected to inform me. The staff chalked it off as miscommunication. I left very angry having wasted 2 hours on my day off. I called the service manager, who had already been informed, his attitude was lousy which only added to my frustrations. Mckenny Salinas dropped the ball on customer service. The service manager needs to sharpen his people skills and not get all defensive when a customer is venting. I will never return to this dealership and will not recommend them to others. Strike 3, you're out !

I was having my leased 2015 Accord serviced at MSH and I have been a very loyal Honda customer since 1991. I have owned a 1988 Accord LX-i, a 1990 Accord EX, a purchased new 2005 Civic EX and a leased new 2015 Accord LX. In addition other family members have owned or currently own Honda's. I would estimate that over the past 25 years my family and myself have owned upwards to 20 Honda automobiles. I have always been a big fan of Honda and their cars and I have always felt like I was being taken good care of and in a fair manner. I decided to ask my sales person about possibly turning my leased car in as I was already going over my milage. He advised us to purchase instead of leasing. I reluctantly agreed and filled out the credit application. To my shock and horror the application was approved by Honda Financial Services for 16.9% interest with basically a $550+ payment per month for 72 months. I was completely caught off guard as my accounts with HFS have always been paid properly and on time. We decided to leave the dealership and was told by the finance manager to come back and try again at a later date.A few days passed and I decided to call HFS to inquiry why I would have been given the rate I was told. The customer service rep was friendly but explained to me that the dealership basically helps to establish the interest rate. She stated I was approved and the dealership is who comes up with the rate based on different factors.This is a big issue because I been a loyal customer and always in good standing with my HFS accounts. Honda has lost a life long customer today due to lack of care and what appears to be a calculated attempt to play a numbers game. I will never shop for another car at any McKenney or Salinas owned dealerships, period. On Friday I went to Volkswagen and they were quite happy to sell me a brand new 2017 Passat R-Line and finance it through VW Credit with a low 0.97% interest rate. Not only did they bend over backwards to work with me, but they gave me a very fair trade in on my leased Accord which helped to clear the lease and prevent further money from having to be spent for mileage overages.All I can say is - Honda's loss is VW's gain. I will more than likely never purchased another Honda automobile in the future, simply because to the lack of integrity shown by those at this dealership. It shocks me to think that someone would not want to sale cars or attempt to work on making the deal. Volkswagen sure is not like this!

We recently purchased a 2016 Pilot from McKenney Salinas Honda in Gastonia where we worked with Ted Anderson to get the right deal. We traded in a 2015 Land Rover and Ted worked to get us the best deal within a 100 mile radius. He assessed our needs quickly and knew that we were serious about buying. So he didnt waste time going back & forth with the sales manager. We made 1 counter offer and it was accepted immediately.This is the 2nd vehicle we purchased from McKenney and will definitely work with them & Ted in the future should we choose another Honda. These folks can provide the same discounts the "big guys", but offer a more personalized buying experience. Go check them out!!

I recently purchased a Honda Civic from McKenney Salinas Honda, the experience was as much more satisfying than most car purchases I have been involved with. I presented the dealership with a payment that would fit within my budget, and they did everything possible to make it happen. My salesman was Andrew Ashbaker, who was very helpful with setting up a test drive and providing facts on the vehicle when needed.He went above and beyond in assisting me and getting me into the car with minimal problems. In one instance my wife had to sign the title on my trade-in. She was not at the dealership, but Andrew followed me home so she could sign the title and saved us an hour and a half trip the next day (with two small children). I would recommend McKenny Salinas Honda for your car buying needs.

I noticed a Cadillac that caught my eye. The car had a sold sign on it. The salesman Dustin, I don't know his last name as he didn't give me a business card. Dustin was welcoming. I explained that I had my check and wanted to stay below that amount. He found out the the car washed sold after all. We went for a test drive. I told him that I wanted the car. By this time I had been at the dealership close to an hour. Not once did he offer me anything to drink. I sign the paperwork & the vehicle was taken home. Dustin followed me home as I was driving another vehicle. The next day I have an appointment out of town. I hit the speed of 65 & the car starts shaking. By the way me trying to use the remote earlier that morning 1 didn't work. I did call the dealership & Dustin advices me to bring it in. I bring the car in. He leaves me sitting over an hour. I go to him & ask what is taking so long. He explains that it has to have the tires rotated to give it another 15-20 minutes. Customer service was horrible! I should have to ask the status. The salesman should have been more personallably. Not happy with the whole customer service experience. And I definitely will NOT be recommending this dealership to anyone

Very pleasant experience in dealing with McKenney-Salinas Honda. After researching new car information and entering my data on the TrueCar website, I immediately received an "out the door" price quote from Tammy Boone (Internet Sales Coordinator). I also received welcome emails from two other dealers in the area but ultimately had to request written price quotes from them. The quote received from McKenney was much less than the other two dealers. I drove to the McKenney dealership and met up with Eddie Jarvis (Inside Sales) to conduct a test drive and get an offer for my trade-in. I had already conducted research on used car values with KBB, Edmunds and NADA prior to going to the dealership. I was pleasantly surprised that the first offer given to me surpassed all of the researched values. I would have say that price had something to do with my decision to go to McKenney. However, receiving the OTD price quote without having to ask was the biggest driver for me going to McKenney. Working with Tammy (internet sales) and Eddie (inside sales) was probably the best car buying experience I have ever had. The whole experience was handled professionally and hassle free. I would definitely recommend them if you are in the market for a vehicle.

My wife and I were shopping for her a new car for a couple of weeks. We visited several dealerships in the Gastonia / Charlotte area. One of the last stops we made was to McKinney Salinas Honda in Lowell, NC. We were greeted by Pete Kienlen. We explained that we were just looking and were planning on visiting a few more dealerships that day. Pete offered assistance if we needed it and then allowed us to browse the lot on our own. We had walked the entire lot by ourselves and were starting to write down stock numbers of cars we were interested in to ask Pete about when he came by to see if we needed any water (it was hot & humid the day we were there). I asked him about the vehicles my wife liked and he went and got the keys to let her sit in the vehicles. We decided to go ahead and do a test drive. After driving a couple of vehicles, I asked Pete about financing and warranties. We went inside and he went through the pricing, financing, warranties and options with the different models. Pete was very thorough and professional. After discussing everything about the cars, he respected our original statement to him that we were still shopping and never tried to force the sell or bring in a manager to force the sell. He thanked us for coming in, introduced us to a manager who only thanked us for coming in and invited us to contact them with any questions. Our entire experience had been very enjoyable that morning. We went on to visit some OTHER dealerships and look at other cars. At one (Toyota) dealership, cars were disorganized and it was hard to find what we were looking for. At another (Ford) dealership, the original salesman was inexperienced, didn't even know how to turn the vehicle on and we were almost hit by a salesman driving a car. A sales manager became rude and disrespectful after we explained to him the same thing we explained and McKinney's Salina's. We walked out of that Ford Dealership.I called Pete to see if he was still at work, he was, and told him we would like to come back and look at two of the vehicles again. When we got to the dealership, the cars were up front, running and cool. We did another test drive and sat down discussing all of our options. We purchased a 2016 Honda CR-V Touring. A Honda will pretty much sell itself based on performance and reliability. What sealed the deal for us was Pete. Pete never pressured us. He was thorough, courteous and professional. Everything from the initial visit to driving the car off the lot was relaxing and amazing. The car is fantastic!! We have had it for a week and have done city and highway driving. It has preformed as advertised and made our traveling experiences very enjoyable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND McKinney-Salina's Honda and Pete Kienlen for your next car buying experience. We will definitely be back when the day comes to get another vehicle.

I'll be short and to the point: took my car in to be serviced for a faulty AC in my Honda four door sedan. I was told it was a bad AC clutch and coil. They named a price to replace it, I said ok, and they went ahead and repaired it. The day I picked it up, I drove off and after less than 2 minutes, the air went from slightly cold to burning *hot*. I drove it straight back to the service center and explained that something must have gone wrong, as it was not fixed. The lady went back to the shop to get the mechanic to come out and look at it. There's a glass window that looks into the shop: the group of mechanics standing there heard what she was saying to them, glanced at me through the window and began **laughing** (odd, don't you think?). They took it back, still couldn't figure out what was wrong, and told me they'd call me. Turns out, the mechanic hadn't bothered to look at the compressor, which was the part that was "bad", not the AC clutch/coil. So *that* had to be replaced.I ask you: shouldn't a properly-trained mechanic catch this to begin with? That was another $200 dollars to fix, which they did not eat. I did not receive an apology/explanation/anything from a manager. I was given a rental car once I asked for one, but the over all attitude of these guys is generally negative. When I came in for my 75,000+ mile service appointment a few months before, a mechanic came out of the shop wearing white surgical gloves with a *red swastika* drawn on it. Really? When I happened to scowl as I looked at it, another man standing there who must have noticed my reaction, gave me a harsh, "keep your mouth shut" look.My car being serviced by men wearing symbols of Nazi Germany is not really appealing. I'm sorry.These experiences, coupled with the high prices and the attitudes, are enough to make me stay away. One last thing: my husband and I have been taking our Hondas, which we used to lease from McKenny-Salinas, to this service center for nearly 10 years. Once this recent shenanigan happened, we decided to drop them.

From the first email exchange with Tammy Boone to the pickup of the 2016 Honda Pilot Touring with Ted Anderson, everything was done professionally and with no hassles usually found at most car dealerships. We knew we were wanting a car in a color that wasn't readily available, so we knew that we would have to order the car, and that was very acceptable for us. Price was a very big part of our buying consideration and the management was willing to offer a competitive price for a very popular vehicle. We were actually surprised how fast the car was delivered to them and to us.Bottom line, working with Tammy (internet sales) and Ted (inside sales) was a very pleasant and low pressure experience. I recommend them if you are in the market for a Honda vehicle.

I was searching all over the greater Charlotte area for a Honda Civic, and when I found my blue 2013 model at McKenney Salinas I knew my search was over. It was a smooth and streamlined process, and I was able to get a much better price than I expected- the quality of the car was unmatched by every other dealer I visited. Wow been looking for the right car for me for several months. Great interest rate from credit union and they beat it, that is what I call pleasing the customer. My wife had been looking for a certain type of car for a month 1/2, finely found it here.We drove 2 1/2 hours to buy this car. The salesman was very nice and helpful. Went on a test drive ended up liking the car. Was shown a list of everything that was fixed on the car and was a shored it was a sound car.The list said brakes were done, ac hose replaced and motor mounts also replaced.Drove off happy thinking we got a good car.Took the car to get a oil change at the dealership in my area and they said it was almost 2 quarts low on oil, they couldn't find the leak so the tech said drive it for a week then bring it back to see if he could spot it.Well had to take the motor out to replace gaskets which was covered under factory warranty, motor mounts were broke, { remember they were so called replaced}.... But that was covered under factory warranty. The tech took me in the back and showed me the front brakes said they need to be replaced and rotors too.Not covered under factory warranty ( also so called replaced and rotors turned )...... after 3500 miles buying the car... Oh the a/c started blowing out hot air on the driver side cold on passenger side, and the heat does it on the reverse sides.(1600) fix.. Called mckenney-salinas told them what was found, got the run around 2 weeks( that being nice ) Drive the car 2 1/2 hours we will do the brakes they said but you should have got the extended warranty for the a/c (cowardly by text message ) Im not driving 2 1/2 hours for a brake job that should have already been done but wasn't , like other things on the car that wasn't touched.....Oh yeah the tech that supposed to have done the work no longer works there ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, The dealership that found all my problems said they would take 400 off the price to fix a/c but mckenney-salinas offered nothing BUYER BEWARE...............................

This was my 10th Honda purchase along with many other new car purchases and it was the easiest, hassle free encounter that I have ever experienced. Originally, I correspondenced with a internet individual who supplied me with a reasonable price for a model that was extremely rare and hard to find. This dealership had no additional markup, based on the "supply & demand" situation and in fact came through with a true car price that was below sticker MSRP. The car was ordered with a deposit and I was kept abreast of manufacturing dates and changes throughout the entire process of several months. The sales person Assigned was a true gentleman, oriented to my needs and detail and delivered all aspects of the promised deal. A true pleasure working with him and this was, without doubt, the very best car buying experience I have ever had in my fifty eight years of purchasing automobiles.

First let me begin with this statement from their website: The record of all the work performed at our dealership is available with the complete Vehicle Autobiography in a folder placed in the vehicle and available via fax or email. I was never shown this at any time and it was not sent to me even after calling the dealership and specifically asking for it. You will be met with the standard dealership 4Square (or whatever they call it) tactic designed to make you think you are in a negotiation. Just be aware of the going in.Also if you are buying used, and this is where my main complaint comes in, take a GOOD look at what you are buying. Since getting my truck home Ive found several things wrong that lead me to believe they did very little to service the vehicle before selling it. Yes I know I was buying As is but when a dealership makes a statement like they do about a service report being available, you dont expect to be facing an immediate $1500 or more in repairs. I contacted the dealership immediately on the main problem and was met with a flat No from the owner on ANY kind of relief. This the first time that has ever happened to me when finding major issues on a vehicle I just bought. A day later they called back and offered to pay for part of the repair which was gladly accepted.Everyone at the dealership was extremely pleasant which was also a plus.

These are professional sales people that are as courteous and helpful In every phase of the car buying process as you will ever find. Jessica Fisher was very polite and patient and always willing to answer my emails or phone calls, and over a period of several weeks I ask a lot of questions in my efforts to decide which car I wanted, pricing, etc. Everyone involved in the process treated me like anyone would want to be treated. Mark was prompt in his part, Jonathon was very helpful in finance office, and Marvin was making sure everything went as smooth as possible. I was in the market of purchasing a new car for my daughter. I knew it would be a Honda, but not sure which dealer to use. I saw a commercial from McKenney-Salinas Honda and thought to myself, ok, this could be a sign, so I went to the dealer to "see" what they had to offer. On New Year's Day I walked into the dealership & a couple of hours later drove off in a brand new 2015 Honda Civic. The sales experience was by far the best car shopping experience I've ever had. My salesman Eddie was beyond professional & courteous. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicles as I asked a lot of questions. I was indecisive due to the multiple cars to choose from. Eddie was very patient and I didn't feel rushed at all. I'm extremely satisfied with the service, my selection and the whole experience overall. My daughter is beyond excited! I normally absolutely detest the entire car buying fiasco, however, my wife and I had an extraordinarily good experience buying a vehicle for our niece. We got to the dealership early on a Saturday with the expectations of unhappily spending the day negotiating. The exact opposite occurred. Our salesman, Andrew Ashbaker, told us up front that the dealership prices their vehicles competitively and that the prices posted were the prices to be paid. Andrew did not pressure us in any way. He actually encouraged us to look at a number of the vehicles on the lot, inside and out. We did just that, made our decision and everything was processed quickly. A big thank you to Andrew. The only downside is that the transaction was completed so quickly that the wife dragged me out Christmas shopping afterward.

I've purchased two cars at this dealership in the last 7 years and both sales experiences have been without a hassle. No pressure and no long winded "we're giving it away" speeches so that was nice. However, the service department at this dealership has some real issues with quality work and customer service. I've had to take a car back more than once for work that was not done properly the first time- wasting both my time and theirs. Generally, the attitude of the customer service reps seem to be not the greatest either.

My experience with the sales staff was excellent and appreciated the flexibility in buying the car. My only concern is with the mechanical staff that performed the 168 point check on the used cars to label them as Precertified. It is my understanding that for tires to be Precertified on a vehicle, they need to have at least 50% of tread left. The used car I bought did not meet that criteria and had approx. 4mm of tread left. That brand of tire new starts with 11mm of tread depth. The other issue was that on the night I picked up the car, there was a ripple in the right front bumper skin that was not brought to my attention even though I mentioned it to the salesman. I do not fault the sales staff but I do fault the mechanical and cleaning staff for not bringing this to someone's attention in sales to be fixed and corrected. That car should have had new tires put on the car to meet Honda's strict Precertification. I did go out a buy new tires which really made a difference in the road noise and ride of the car. As far as the bumper, the staff that cleaned the car that day could not have missed this imperfection. I got to say the rest of the car was immaculate. This really is an integrity issue for the dealership. Someone pushed the car through. I hope this message does get to the dealership for their review.

I visited McKenny Salinas With the intention of test driving a vehicle only, but left with a brand new Honda CR-V. From the moment we stepped on the lot I felt welcomed. Our sales person Glenn Shepard was very friendly and professional. He was very patient and not pushy. He took the time to show me a number of different vehicles before we made a final choice. From the time I made my final decision to purchase and actually drove off the lot was probably about an hour and a half, which was amazing. I received a flyer from McKinney to schedule a service and to gather some data. Appt. at 10:30 on July 15 service completed 11:45 am. While driving back to house Low pressure warning light came on, check air pressure at my shop All tires Had 38 psi. Reset warning light called service they said gauge out of calibration specs. Call for 33psi. Monday morning noticed oil under CRV, jack vehicle up oil plug is about to fall out and oil all under undercarriage. Also notice leak On Transaxle. Returned Monday morning explained problem. Service guy came out with key sad we gotcha taken care of tightened drain plug wiped all oil residue and filled half qt oil. Said oil had splashed up on transaxle. And here's what really pissed me off Not one I'm sorry for what happened. This is why I service my on equipment . In the past 26 years (since I turned 16), I have purchased or leased 9 vehicles, including Ford, Chevrolet, Jeep, Saturn, and Mazda....never a Honda, and never associated with McKenney Salinas Honda in Gastonia. My recent with experience with McKenney Salinas far exceeded my expectations. From initial contact with Elizabeth via online chat, which was very informative and helpful, to the "in person" experience with Pete and Roger at the dealership, which again was informative, helpful, and pleasant, to the closing experience with Angela, I never felt pressured or hurried. We traveled far outside of our metro area to find a very gently used Honda Ridgeline at a good price. From the initial call to the service from Mr. Eric Sims from the test drive through the purchase, our buying experience with McKenney-Salinas Honda was excellent. Mr. Sims was not only extremely knowledgeable about the Honda product line, he made the car buying experience pleasant. While this dealership is a 3 hour drive for us, I would make it again based on the experience we had with them.

I knew when I got to the Honda dealership what I was looking for..Had already looked at several other vans at other dealerships and none fit what I wanted..I needed a van that I could carry my Powerchair in and I found that one at McKenney-Salinas Honda. One of the best parts of my visit there was my salesman, Dean Woodard..From the moment we met he put me at ease with no pushing or trying to sell me anything..He left it up to me what I wanted to look at and when asked, he helped find the van that had things I wanted and things I didn't want..Needless to say, I now have a beautiful 2015 Odyssey..Dean made the whole experience of buying so smooth and easy that I have told every one that I talk to that they should consider this dealership and ask for Dean..He makes you feel very at ease and not pushed at all..Everyone that I dealt with there was very nice and friendly and made you feel very welcome..I will be taking my van in for all my oil changes, etc. and look forward to talking with my "friend"..I would encourage anyone to give them a visit and compare the prices to other places..I think you will be pleased...Thank you again Dean!!!

We had a basically good experience with our recent car purchase. The only complaint I have is that after we did all the paperwork with the car salesman, we then had to do a bunch more paperwork with the financial manager. That would have been fine if we hadn't had to wait about 45 minutes to see her! It made for a very long car buying experience.

I purchased a used vehicle from Mckenney Salinas Honda a couple months ago and they assured me that there would be a couple things fixed and/or done after the purchase after multiple times taking it back to them I just had to give up on it they done more damage than repairs to the vehicle. I will never by another vehicle from this place or take one there for service.

Frank Justice was knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and beyond patient. Plus, he's such a nice guy; I think he actually enjoyed our interaction too. I knew what I was looking for when I went in, so we didn't have to discuss that aspect of the deal, which made us both relax. Jonathan Zirbel was also very helpful with filling out the paperwork and explaining the sales process at McKenney-Salinas. At the outset of my first visit, I was glad to hear that there is no haggling nor hassling. Hearing about the "Tru-Price" way of sales, I checked out Kelly Blue Book and found out that M-S's price on the vehicle I wanted was the absolute best out there. Then Angela Jones was helpful in explaining all the financial "stuff," even offering me a better rate on a wrapped powertrain extended warranty and a much better loan percentage than I had been quoted by the used car guys. Frank and Angela both are great, down-to-earth people. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know both of them. I'm sorry that Jonathan and I didn't have the same opportunity. Now I look forward to visiting the Service Department when the time comes.

I shopped every Honda dealer in the greater Charlotte area. McKenney-Salinas was by far the most professional and enjoyable to work with theoughout the transaction. So much that I traveled farther just to do business with them. They were straightforward (I had worked out the deal prior to coming in) and delivered what the promised. On a side note, Pete Kienlen is awesome! Not only is he a super nice and sincere guy, he made sure I got all of my belongings from my trade in to the extent that when I forgot something very important, he coordinated a personal delivery to me. Now that's customer service. I would recommend them to anyone. As a buyer, do your homework ahead of time and you should have a pleasant experience.

Let me start out by saying that I did a lot of research in what I wanted. I wanted to go to a car lot and test drive what I felt would work best for my family; I did not want to feel pressured or have to be hounded about what we could afford before the Rep would work with us. I knew exactly what I wanted and what I could afford. We went to several car lots and can say that Honda of Gastonia was the best in customer service. When we arrived, we started to walk towards the cars on the lot, Glenn came out to greet us and see if he could help. I immediately felt like this would be a good experience, because he seemed sincere, patient and kind. We asked about a few cars and I gave him an idea of what I was looking for, which was a car that had a good back seat for my kids. As we looked in the cars, he told us the benefits of those cars, I asked about price, but his phone wasn't acting right, plus he was new, so he said we could go inside. We explained what we were looking for and he opened up the Honda website to search for us. Instead of asking what kind of type of car payment we were looking for, he asked what type of vehicle. He allowed us to look at the screen with him and see what would work best for us. I saw one vehicle I liked, so he went to get the keys and pulled the car up for us to look at. I liked it and he offered to let me test drive it. I put my kids in the back seat and we drove off the lot. I really liked the car, but I wanted to see other vehicles before I decided. So we went inside and he pulled up the screen again. He asked us what type of price range we were looking for and I told him, so he looked, but we didn't see anything. So he asked us again and we went up to the next level. He even filtered by price. I told him a few I wanted to look at and he took a piece of paper and wrote down the stock numbers. As we looked at the cars, I would research them on my phone and I can say, they had the best pricing. He did not once make me feel bad for having it out. He took us outside to the cars we wanted to see. The ones I really liked, he went and got the keys so I could see the inside better and turned on the engine for me to hear and see how the features worked inside. I found one I really liked and he asked if I wanted to test drive it. I did! I was so excited. I enjoyed how this one drove and the miles where not bad at all. The car was clean and it drove very well. We went back inside and he asked if that was the car we may want. He could see I was skeptical, and asked what's wrong. I really didn't want a car payment but I knew we had to do something soon because our second vehicle was falling apart. He went to his finance person and they showed us the price we may pay for either of the two cars I drove. It gave me an idea of what the payments would be. I went in not wanting to do a down payment and not once did he make me feel bad saying I may not get a loan for not wanting to do so. But if I did put a down payment, the payments may look better or I may be approved easier, I really wasn't sure why they wanted that detail, but I didn't care, I was just happy about his kindness and patience of putting up with us and our demands. We looked at a few more cars on the website, but they had higher miles. So we decided to try for the second car I test drove. We were approved, but because of our situation, we had to put a down payment. The guy that ran our application had Glenn bring us in so we could see that the bank would not budge from the interest rate and that they were requesting a down payment. He said he called to talk them down, but they wouldn't. We had part of the down payment, but just couldn't come up with all of it without being short the rest of the month, so we left. Glenn called us a few times over the next few days asking if we had changed our minds. We explained that we just couldn't do it. Then my husbands truck started acting worse and he tried to fix it, but nothing worked. He knew it would not pass inspection and it was due in 2 weeks. He had to pull over several times before work because it kept over heating. We had to do something, so we talked and decided that we had to get the car. It was a very good deal and there really were no other vehicles I liked anywhere else. Plus with the good customer service by Glenn and the finance man, I felt I wanted to deal with them. So, we moved things around and was able to get all the money needed. My husband called and said we had the down payment, so Glenn told him he would have it ready and to come at 7. When we got there, it was about 6pm. I told one guy that we had an appointment at 7 but I wanted to look at another car first. He said Glenn was with a customer and would be with us soon. Glenn welcomed us and said he would be with us soon. I told him I would be outside looking at another car and he was fine with that. When he was ready for us, he had everything ready for the car we originally came for. I asked if there was a way we could see one more car. He said yes, take in mind my husband saw that the car I came for was already detailed and waiting for us beside the doors, but he was willing to look this other car up for me and even go get the keys and bring the car up to us to look at. Luckily, this car was not a good fit and I just knew the Ford must be the one. So we went inside and signed the paperwork. We then went and sat with the finance manager. She was so kind and thoroughly explained everything to us. She knew we were trying to rebuild our credit and explained that the credit company allowed her to increase our interest by 2 points and even showed us where it said it on the paper. She said she would not do that to us. Again, I knew I was with the right people. In the end, the payment was about $60 higher than the estimated price, but that was ok because we knew we wouldn't have the best rate due to our situation. When everything was done, Glenn gave us all the reports for the vehicle. The car fax report was great and he said with the recall, to call a ford dealership and they would take care of us, he then took us outside to show us the features of the car with my phone hook up, but it was dead and I told him that was ok because I had done it before. I didn't realize they were closed until I turned around and saw the lights off. Although they had closed, he stayed to get our tag on our car and make sure we had everything we needed. We asked about the warranty again just to verify and he talked with someone to make sure. Again, not rushing us to get the hec out of there so they could go home. Once he got my tag on the car, we were set to go. When I got in the car, they had detailed it so nicely and filled the tank! Another thing, I have three children, Honda had a snack station and a TV area, one for adults and one for kids. Not once did they get upset because my kids wanted their hot chocolate, caprisuns and snacks the whole time. My kids sat quietly at the TV and watched the movies they had. That helped my kids behave, lol. Thank you Glenn and Honda for making my experience a very good one. Thanks for thoroughly explaining what True Price meant as well as other answers we were looking for. That's the type of service every dealership should have. We look forward to visiting you again for future purchases. I will recommend this dealership to everyone!

The whole team was so helpful. Ted came to help me on the lot after a minute of being out of my car. He offered to show me the deals with the description of my dream vehicle. Ted kept in touch and kept all of my wants in mind. He was available to answer questions and was very pleasant. Buying my first car was nerve-racking personally but they made it smooth and walked me through every step. Roger was a kind and honest when it ce to what could and couldn't be done. They took very good care of me and secured my decision as the best one I have ever made! Angela in Finance was the icing on top of the cake of the whole experience. I called one day while I was car shopping in another county and Tammy was very helpful and quick with getting me in contact with the a salesmen that could help me. Dustin W was my salesman and was up front with me right out the gate. He was very helpful, determined and diligent with getting me the car I wanted. I was originally denied approval for a loan at Hendricks BMW for the same Cadillac CTS that was actually cheaper and Dustin was able to get me approved with a low car payment with a low down payment. Even when my insurance agency gave me trouble, Dustin referred me to an agency that was able to help me get the car. Chris was also helpful with consulting me on how to manage my payments and questions pertaining to the car. While I was waiting in the lobby, Andrew was very friendly and sociable. I would recommend that you use these guys for service.

What began as a simple oil changed turned into a great deal on a brand new 2015 Honda Accord, thanks to the hard work of the team at McKenney-Salinas Honda! I brought my 2005 Honda Civic in for a typical 5,000 mile oil change and stopped by the showroom and chatted with Ted Anderson about possibly selling my car and leasing a new car. Ted was approachable, honest, and understood my needs. I felt like I was in very good hands working with Ted. He quickly accessed my Civic and was happy to work the deal and earn my business. We agreed to a certain price on my car and a monthly lease payment on the 2015 Accord LX however, we had some hiccups in finance that caused the price to increase from what the original price was. The finance manager, Roger Hoyle, was upfront and honest about the situation and offered the car at the higher price, indicating an issue with credit approval. Roger gave me all the details needed and I left the dealership in hopes of returning to close the deal later that evening. I was unable to close on the car that evening due to the pricing. Over the weekend Roger and his team kept working with Honda Financial to get the car approved at the original amounts. They worked tirelessly to honor our agreed offer and Ted contacted me on Monday stating Honda had approved the paperwork and everything was in place. We picked-up our new car on Monday evening and I cannot stress how impressive the car and the buying experience was at McKenney-Salinas! Marvin Mathis, Roger Hoyle, Chris Pressley, and Ted Anderson all worked to ensure a new customer was happy and received a fair deal on both a trade and new car. I bought a 2007 Toyota Rav4 from McKenny-Salinas Honda. My experience with the dealership couldn't have been better. Ted Anderson was the Sales Associate I worked with and he made the whole experience a breeze. From the moment I walked in to inquire about the vehicle to signing the paperwork to purchase it, I never once felt uncomfortable or pressured. The Rav4 had some slight fading on the bumper and spare tire cover from just being exposed to the sun and outside elements. McKenney-Salinas Honda agreed to completely repaint the entire bumper and spare cover before I purchased the vehicle. The paint turned out great and I couldn't be happier with my 'new' SUV! They were very honest and helpful throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle. Pete and Roger both were just excellent. Buying a car is the second largest purchase I make and I never look forward to the uncertainty in the negotiations and wondering "Did I get a good deal?" From the moment I stepped in the door it was a relaxed setting. No questions about price and no pressure at all as we took the Honda Fit out for a test ride. The short OTD price conversation was direct and with good explanation and even the Sales Manager (Roger) stood around for 30 minutes with Pete (Salesman), my wife, and myself just talking about family and kids. I left that day knowing that I would prefer they have my business. After researching more, I had a few follow-up questions that Pete quickly replied to. I even went back up there to look at the car's quality (paint chips, mileage, interior) once more just to be sure it hadn't been abused and Pete simply handed me the keys and let me go look it over unsupervised (again, no pressure of a waiting salesman watching over your shoulder). I needed time and space and they gave it to me. When we were finally talking numbers, they matched my best price and the paperwork process went smooth and simple. Again, no pressure to add on additional items (Ext warranty, etc) though they did cover that with me. I would HIGHLY recommend them. If my next car is a Honda, I know where I'll go to get it.

I love the 2015 Honda Pilot that I purchased they day after Christmas. I had been going to McKenny Salinas for service on my 2004 Oddysey for a while and had been pleased with thei customer service in their service department, so decided that I would talk with them about a possible new vehicle purchase when the time came. I worked with Frank Justice and he was patient with me over a period of about 6 months as I decided if and when I would by a new car. He made sure all of my questions were answered and took time to show me options and help me find the car that had what I wanted within my budget specs.Thanks for a great car and a great experience!

After a month long search for a new car, my wife and I visited McKenney-Salinas Honda on a Sunday and found the perfect car, a 2015 Honda Accord. The next day, November 17, 2015, I stopped by McKenney-Salinas Honda and was greeted, in the pouring rain, by Sales Consultant Ted Anderson. Mr. Anderson very pleasantly and professionally listened to what I had to say without trying to pressure me into making a decision that I would come to regret. After looking at another very beautiful 2015 Honda Accord sitting on the showroom floor, I placed a call to my wife to have her come by the dealership. This was probably one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had in my life! Having been to several dealerships with big names in the area, I was prepared to be hassled and argued with over the value of the car I was interested in, and there was simply none of that. There was no need for negotiating with these guys, they were very open and transparent about the value and the cost of the car and I never at any point felt pressured or uncomfortable about buying the car in any way. Would absolutely recommend this dealership if you're interested in the best car buying experience ever!! :)

on 10/02/2014 I purchased a 2004 Honda civic I expect with a used car that at some point repairs will have to be made but i didn't expect to get it home and find problems the next day. when i let off the gas the car jerks and pulls, when starting from a stopped position it feels like its out of gear and struggles to get moving. If i was aware of these problems before hand i would not have wasted my money on this car and yes i did ask if there were any problems with the car that i should know about before i bought it i was told there were no problems with the vehicle. i feel like i was lied to i am very disappointed and will never give these crooks another dime.

I came in the dealership to purchase a 2014 Honda Civic Si. There was the only one there and it happened to be the exact color (White) that I was looking for. Dean was my salesman and he was so pleasant to work with. I got an excellent price on the vehicle and I even got a remarkable interest rate on my auto loan. Chris is the finance manager and my credit is not great well he found me a lender that would work with me and I got a wonderful rate for a person like myself that is trying to rebuild their credit. I recommend this dealership 100% and if you are in the market for a new or used car go see them because they do not hassle you like some dealerships do and they let you breath and make your decision as it should be. They have a wonderful selection of new and used cars for sale. About the 2014 Honda Civic Si that we purchased well when I got home to show my wife the car, I no longer own the car it now belongs to her. This car is remarkable on fuel because I did not purchase it to beat on it although the power is there if you need it. Honda did a fantastic job on the all new Civic Si. Very high end vehicle and I am in the market for another Honda vehicle just have not decided on which one yet. I am hoping Honda pairs the 6 speed manual that is in this Si version with the new 2015 Civics with the 1.8 engine that are due out. This is the other vehicle I would like to have or the 2015 Accord Hybrid version or Accord 2.4 6 speed manual, I have not made my mind up. Go see McKenney whether you need service, parts, or a new or used car you will not be disappointed I promise you this.

We recently purchased a new vehicle from McKenney Salinas Honda and what can we say about our purchase from this dealer besides GOOD! It was a wonderful car buying experience, no pressure, no switching to another vehicle, they had available on the lot the vehicle as described over the phone and internet. Started communication with Tammy Boone and set up time for visit. Upon arrival at Mckenney Salinas Honda was intoduced to Roger Brown. Roger made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Roger also happily showed us all we asked to see. We felt in charge instead of the seller. No pressure to look at any particular car. No demands to stick with vehicle previously discussed Soon we had the rubber mats and cross bars planned for installation and it was in to see Roger Hoyle in finance. Once again no pressure, and very cooperative with what we presented. No long drawn out affair to obtain the deal we sought. Needless to say, it was a Wonderful car purchasing experience and so was the experience with the service department in with the installation of the cross bars and mats. Was well worth the drive, great people to deal with, nice clean facility in showroom and service department.

Upon visiting McKenney Salinas Honda in Gastonia, we purchased a 2014 Honda Accord Sport. This was absolutely the best car buying experience EVER! This facility was the cleanest I have ever been to. The employees were the up most respectful, and friendly! This did not feel like a typical car buying experience, this was like meeting new friends and taking a new car home. I cannot stress enough how happy we are that we chose McKenney Salinas Honda in Gastonia. Will ONLY do business with them in the future and refer ALL friends and family here. I'm a firm believer in rewarding hard work, especially when it comes to helping the vitality of a business through word-of-mouth advertising and customer testimonies. McKinney-Salinas Honda has had a lot of that same feedback over the years, as is evident from their excellent rating here on Dealer Rater. Now, I can see why! They have a relatively low-volume sales department, so in order for the business to thrive, they have to develop a top-notch service department, while fostering repeat sales and referrals from excellent customer service on behalf of their salesmen. At the end of the day, they do just that! Fantastic people.I recently purchased a new 2014 Accord Sport through them, and have had a poor experience with the product received, but an overall great experience with the service and sales staff. Originally, I was planning on buying a new-er used car (3 to 4 years old), and that's what initially attracted me to their dealership. Being a local Gastonian, I wanted to support a local business if they could match the prices I had been getting from other Charlotte area dealerships. I found a lightly used 2014 Accord Sport which fit my needs perfectly. Unfortunately, they couldn't come down on the price at all, However, they were able to offer me a lower price on a nearly identical new car! Sometimes year-end clearances are advantageous in that respect. Not being a high-volume dealer, I wasn't able to get them to match the prices I had been offered in Charlotte, but the fact that they were local and had invested time in me as a customer made it worthwhile.One thing that set them apart from some of the 8 or so dealerships I've worked with over the last month, was the sales manager's (Roger Hoyle) willingness to deal directly and transparently with me as a customer, instead of sending a salesman back and forth to negotiate pricing. Being able to judge his character, and his reactions during the sales process was a key element in sealing the deal for me. I felt that the deal was thoroughly explained, and that I was valued as a customer.The new car I was considering had a few on-the-lot issues with the paint, and a problem with the door closing completely. As a mechanic and engineer, I knew that the door closure issue alone, while not too uncommon, could indicate that further hidden problems existed with the car. If a shift at the Marysville, Ohio manufacturing plant was underperforming for one reason or another, issues could easily make it past quality control that would turn the car into a money pit after the warranty expires. The staff was tolerant and accommodating with my request to do a thorough inspection of the automobile, and to compare certain potential problem areas against another. I bought the car late that evening, contingent on the door being properly repaired quickly, and the staff was happy to stay past closing hours on a Friday (I would imagine some dealerships could get grumpy about it, even if they did make a sale). The finance manager, Angela, was extremely helpful and accomodating. My co-signer decided to purchase an extended warranty, which I did not support (based on the hard facts and monthly payment I'd be paying down the road), but in no way did she pressure us in making that decision.In the end, I was correct about the car, as it did have several other initial quality issues aside from the door closure. However, my initial inspection had not turned these up, and instead found them after buying the car and using it over a period of two to three weeks. Since they are still in the process in resolving these issues, and for the sake of their reputation (since this is the fault of Honda Corporate), I won't go into detail on the rest of the problems.As with all mass produced goods, cars come with certain problem areas that will need adjustment or replacement from time to time. Mine just happened to come with a few more than average, and is not what I expected from a brand like Honda. I am now in the process of sorting out those other issues, and so far my experiences with the dealership's service department have been mixed. I have also had quality issues with a few dealer installed accessories, and will need a few items replaced. Thus far, two visits were spent at the service department where the technicians could not fix items on the car, for various reasons. Also, I directly requested to speak with the 3rd party contractor doing my dealer-installed tinting 3 distinct times, but never met the man in the end. Now, I'm questioning what he did with my car!Frank, the salesman that helped us primarily, has recently become a great liaison for me with the service department, making sure they understood my needs. He has invested time in me far beyond the sales process, which means a lot.I met with the service manager earlier this week, and will be getting the issues addressed in one large go sometime next week. He is a great guy, a former detailer, and all-around quite experienced with automotive service. He seemed genuinely eager to get the issues properly fixed and to help with coordinating the process.Due to the lapses of customer service quality in the service department, I am only giving the dealership a 4/5 for overall customer service, but I would change that to 5/5 if I continue to receive good experiences in the future.Since I have had several issues with poor accessory installation and initial product quality with the vehicle, I am only giving the dealership a 2/5 for servicing, vehicle delivery and product quality. However, I would raise that to a 4/5 if all is completely resolved to my satisfaction in the coming weeks. Just to clarify, no major integrity issues, like the dealership hiding accident repairs or the like have popped up, only quality of work on repair and installed accessories. To be fair, I likely notice more quality issues than the average customer, but the fact that they were not repaired warrants the rating.Overall, the dealership deserves a 5/5 for friendliness, as everyone has been more than welcoming and friendly. You feel like you're appreciated after the sale, and that goes a long way. You won't "just be a number" at this dealership.Price receives a 3/5 (or average) rating, as the out the door price was decent, but not at all what I could have gotten by visiting dealerships in Charlotte. Their accessory and warranty prices are extremely high for the product received, but it is a major source of profit for any dealership. I would suggest going to a reputable 3rd party for Non-Honda accessories. To be fair, they were losing money on the deal, but so are all other dealerships this time of the year. Regionally, moderate sales over the months of July and August have led to a buyer's market, so I tried to take advantage of that fact. Since I am paying for the car (mentioned a co-signer earlier), and am living on a limited student income, I needed the best deal that I could get. So far, for the quality of product received, I feel that I overpaid.Overall, my experience at McKinney Salinas has been a good one. Generally speaking, the people in the sales department are hard-working, honest, friendly and transparent. They are willing to stand behind their products, and make sure that customer needs are properly addressed. They have earned my trust, so hats off to them!Based on my firsthand experience and knowledge from primary sources, the service department is average for a value-brand car moniker, but I would be willing to rate them higher if the follow-up repairs go favorably.

Jasper Powe was our salesman, and he did a fantastic job getting us the price we wanted. There was never any pressure from him or the sales manager Marvin Mathis. When we signed all the paperwork, Chris Pressley never forced the loan insurance or the extended warranty on us. Everyone was friendly and contributed to a "no pressure" buying experience from the beginning to the end. When Jasper located the exact van we were looking for, he even delivered it right to our house! He then spent 45 minutes in the driveway going over every option, button, and control to be sure we understood all the features. I have had nothing but aggravation when dealing with some other dealerships. I've gotten upset, and ultimately walked out of other dealerships. I've never been able to understand why they play the games they play......So, imagine my surprise when I walked into this dealership (with no intention of buying anything that day since I had just started looking) and was treated with respect. No games, no pressure. For me to say that I had a fabulous experience is quite a understatement. They didn't try to talk me into anything I didn't want. They didn't hold my keys hostage when they took my car to appraise it. I feel they gave me a somewhat fair price for my trade in. I feel I got a fair price on the Honda CR-V EX-L that I purchased and the whole process was pleasant (not the usual high pressure I'm used to). I must say that working with Roger Brown, Roger Hoyle and Angela Theis was a pleasure and I will do it again in the not too distant future. I will recommend to anyone to go and see them . Oh, and did I mention my wife Carol LOVES the CR-V? Thanks guys, I will be back!

I recently bought a Honda CR-V at McKenney-Salinas(7-3-14). I was really dreading the whole car buying process. I had a really old car and it had been a long time since I had purchased a car. I had saw the cr-v on cars.com so I stopped and took a look at it. I really liked the look of the vehicle. I started into the dealership and Lamont Stevenson met me going in. I told him which cr-v I wanted to drive, he said for me to sit down and ask if I would like a bottle of water, and then proceeded to get the keys so we could go for a test drive. He had such a easy manner about him, he made me feel very comfortable right off. After the test drive, I told him I loved the way the vehicle drove and handled and that I liked everything about it and that I wanted to purchase it. Lamont got the paper work done and faxed it to my bank so that they could setup the loan and I called my insurance and gave them the information they needed. Chris Pressley went over all the paperwork and I signed it. The whole process was easy, quick and pleasant. Lamont cleaned up and gased up the car and put my tag on for me. I had a rental car, so I drove it back to the rental place and another salesman picked me up and took me back to the dealership and Lamont was there waiting on me to shake my hand and thank me before I left. Lamont was very knowledgeable of the car, courteous and professional throughout the whole process. He said if I had any questions about the cr-v, just to call him and he would be glad to help me. He also sent me a follow-up email to see how things were going with the cr-v and to let him know if I needed anything. The frequent follow-ups and attention-to-details are among the best features of their customer service. After I decided to drop by and do the test drive at the dealership, that is where I first met Dean. He is a very friendly and patient person. Two things that separate Dean from traditional salesmen are the fact that first of all, he does not give you the feeling that you're under a lot of pressure, nor does he try to talk you into buying the car on the same day. It is a pleasant place to buy the car, not to mention that they do provide great pricing that some other dealerships couldn't even match. Overall I had a great time at this dealership and I know for a fact that if my family or friends need to buy a car in the future, this dealership is the right one to go to.

There are two elements to my review, the dealership experience and the car buying experience across boarders. First of all, if you live in South Carolina buy your car in SC and vice versa if you live in NC. Dealerships never warn you that by buying out of state you must go to DMV, to tax offices and other entities to got license plates and pay fees. Two times I have now made this mistake and dealerships never warn you about the hazards of buying out of state, even though they know of the headache that lies ahead in terms of time, driving, waiting in line,etc. buy and drive your car in the state you plan to live in. PERIOD. That aside, I am a bottom line buyer. I like a fair quote, honest negotiation and dealing with a peer. My experience with Dean was quite enjoyable and no body worked hader and more patiently to earn my business. He spent considerable time to earn our business and he spent a ton of time teaching my wife how to operate the vehicle. The quoted price was fair and the patience exhibited exemplary. I would recommend McKenny Salinas Honda in Gastonia.

As in the past, Eddie Jarvis has made another car purchase a pleasant experience. Eddie is professional, friendly, honest, knowledgeable, fair and goes "the second mile" to satisfy the customer. He is the best example of being there to truly HELP the customer - and is very patient with a car buyer that is extremely detail oriented. I not only recommend friends/family to this dealership, I encourage them to go. The sales/management team is excellent. If there is ever a problem they are there to MAKE IT RIGHT. Bought a Honda Odyssey a few weeks ago and heard some clicking noise from the axles. Well Lamont (our sales rep) called to check on us and I told him what I was hearing. He told me to come in the next day and he would take care of it. I went and immediately he took the car heard what I was hearing and took it up to the service center. There I met Trent Swink the service manager and Lamont told him what was going on. Trent was very nice and assured me he would take care of it. Lamont took me and my two little ones to get something to eat while they serviced my car and picked us up right on time. This is he BEST dealership ever. I have bought cars from others but have never received the customer service that Lamont has given my family. He is so sweet and deserve a well known recognition! Well find out all I needed was some oil on the axle and I don't hear the noise anymore. I will defiantly buy my next car from this dealer. Thanks!

Tammy Boone and Jasper Powe were part of the excellent team that worked with us to deliver on all of our requests. There were no games, gimmicks or wizard of oz behind the curtain moments. They provided their best price up front, disclosed their documentation fee and provided a fair trade in allowance. We were in and out of dealership in record time. I have been shopping for vans fora while I already had the money so all I needed was a van wasn't looking for any hassles. So I went to this dealership to look at a 2011 honda odyssey. When my family and I pulled up we were immedialty greeted by Lamont. I told him what I want and what I needed. He quickly started on my appraisal for my trade in and made everything work out to where I needed. (Or at least close to it) Lamont was very sweet and kind hearted and I felt he was putting our best interest to heart. I could have bought a van from another dealer but I hated the customer service. I purchased a 2003 Ford F-150 from Lamont Stevenson and he was great to work with. I found the vehicle on autotrader.com late one evening and stopped by the dealership early the next morning (before business hours) to see if the truck was still on the lot. Lamont got the keys and off we went on a short test drive. I was impressed with this vehicle but had a business obligation to attend and told him I would be back in a few hours. I called him shortly afterwards and told him I was on my way but when I got to the dealership someone else was test driving it. I left the dealership just a little disappointed fearing some else was about to purchase the vehicle. Lamont called me about 20 minutes later and said the truck was back on the lot and available. I told him I would be there in 10 minutes but he asked if he could bring it to me instead so he could get it off the lot. True to his word he delivered it to where I was. I then took the truck on another test drive and decided this was the one for me. Lamont took care of his necessary paperwork and I was out the door within an hour with my new used truck. Lamont was a pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle.

I recently purchased a 2014 Honda Accord from McKenney Salinas Honda-Mitsubishi. This is the third Honda that I have purchased new since 1990 with the last two purchases from McKenny Salinas Honda-Mitsubishi. I decided to purchase my new vehicle from McKenney Salinas Mitsubishi Honda because of the professional and courteous service that I consistently received throughout the years from the Service Department. This same service was recently demonstrated in my interactions with sales representative Lamont Stephenson. Most people dread purchasing a vehicle because of the price negotiations and haggling back and forth. This was not case with my recent purchase. I found my interactions with Lamont and his Sales Manager, Roger Hoyle, to be very friendly, professional, and courteous. Lamont was not pushy in his sales approach but listened to what I was looking for and assisted me in locating the type of car in their inventory. He was upfront and his integrity made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire selection and closing process. Roger answered any questions I had about my purchase agreement and financing. I feel that I obtained a very good sales price on the vehicle I selected. The Honda product sells itself. It is assuring to know that as a customer you are going to receive consistent professional and courteous from sales to service. I would highly recommend that if you are looking to purchase a vehicle to contact Lamont Stephenson and let him assist you in finding the vehicle you desire. You won't be disappointed. The Service Department is excellent also. Lamar Ledford has been with the dealership over 16 years as a Service Advisor. Our experience in buying our new 2014 Honda CRV with McKenney-Salinas was awesome. I highly recommend that if you are looking for a new Honda to please consider this dealership. This was by far the most pleasant car buying experience we have ever had with a dealership. We came from Greensboro to look at this used truck on New Years Eve and never once did we get the feeling we were inconveniencing anyone in any way, even though we got there around 8:15 pm and left about 11:15. Mr Hoyle was our first contact and was very cordial to us the entire time. This by far was the worst experience I have had! On 11/29/2013 I went to McKenny Salinas Honda in the hopes of trading in my car. Upon my arrival I was bypassed by one sales who did not acknowledge me, I was then greeted by salesman who asked if I was being helped, I politely said no, and he stated that he would find someone to help me. I had to take it upon myself to find somewhere to sit, this was at 1.44pm, as I sat and waited I was bypassed by several other sales persons who did not utter a word to me and barely looked in my direction. I was not offered any coffee, asked if I was okay, or informed on how long my wait would be. I decided that I would give them 30 minutes, as 2.25pm approached I began gathering my things and I was told at that moment that a salesman was available to now help me. As I sat down at his desk I immediately got the impression that he did not want to help me. He was very nonchalant and distant. I explained why I was there and informed him that I had just had my car appraised, and provided that information, he reviewed it and then sat there asking me what I wanted to do (again) it was like pulling teeth to get him to complete my sales application. I then had to double back and provide him with pertinent information that he failed to ask for, that I knew he would need. He then asked about a down payment which I knew I wouldn't need (and was just offered a deal with no money down) but I was hoping to give my business to McKenny. Anyone buying a car should know that unless you have a substantial amount to put down on the car it will not have a significant impact on your monthly payments. So, if your are putting $1k to $5k down, that is just going in the dealers pocket. Indicating that I had an understanding of this didn't sit too well with the salesman, so to appease him I offered $1k down. After he FINALLY completed my application he took the information to the finance manager, and just as quickly as he got up from his desk he was RIGHT BACK in less than a minute, saying "Sorry there is nothing we can do for you" this without anyone even asking for my keys so that someone from the dealership could complete their own appraisal on my car. I was so irritated and disappointed at this point, I just simply said thank you for your time and left the dealership. I never leave reviews but this was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I sat longer, waiting to be acknowledged, than I did to actually provide my information and be told no. I felt rushed and ignored! And, if I can help it, I will not set foot back inside of McKenny Salinas Honda (Gastonia NC) ever again.

This is the second vehicle we purchased from Mckenny Salinas in a period of 2 years. While our first purchase was a great experience around 2 years back this one was a extremely poor experience. We had decided to buy a Honda Odyssey and had called in for the trim and details we wanted. After getting in within 30 - 45 mins we had decided on the final trim level we wanted to go with. Unfortunately from there it all went down hill. From the point of decision to get the purchase completed it took well over 3 hrs for just completing paper work. We are not sure what took the amount of time to get just the paper work done irrespective. We were told that there were way too many people who had come in but then 3 hrs for is a long long time. Even if I understand the busy day I cannot understand the other sloppiness - First off the car manual was not put in the car which I discovered after I got home. I called in and received a apology and offer to mail. Today I noticed that for one of the car splash guards is missing nuts which I discovered after getting home. The very reason I travelled close to 45 miles given the price difference at local dealership was no more then USD 100 was because the experience I had the first time over was really great. But this time over I am deeply dissatisfied especially post looking at the sloppiness. I had gone in hoping to begin discussions over changing my first car but with this experience I am glad I did not open that conversation.

First, Jessica helped me on the phone, not only with the car we actually first viewed on-line, but with some other options Honda's offering now for year end. Once at the dealership, Lamont introduced himself, explained options and warrenty info on the used car we'd gone there about, and let us take a test ride. He also explained in further detail the sales specials on the new Civics, and let us test one of those. He was not pushy or too forward; he was very nice, personable and knowledgeable about the car and the dealer's matters like price (a big concern for me), warranty, etc. Needless to say, we went ahead and bought a new model, as when I weighed our options, finances, and the Lifetime on the new one, I believe it's the better car option for our family. He introduced us to Jonathan, did the paperwork, etc., and I enjoyed a nice chat with him as we worked on the deal. He then handed us off to Chris for final paperwork, etc. Chris also made me aware of the extra bumper-to-bumper, and we did go ahead with that also, since I plan on keeping the car for a long time. The payments were able to be kept where I needed them to be also, which would have been a deal-breaker for me. The guys all gave us 100% even though it meant being there past closing time. Jordan was great to deal with. We were two women buying a car. We heard horror stories. We had done our research and located the car online. Jordan was easy-going and did not try to push us into anything. I wanted my daughter to try a Civic and, when that didn't work out for her, he took us right to the Accord we had printed out. We were surprised to find it was actually less money than was posted online. Jordan took us on a test drive and explained everything to us. I paid cash and was expecting some difficulty with that. Lamont Stevenson was great to work with! He made the sale quick and easy. This review would have been great all around except for an issue that I had with one of the two keys I was given. The remote entry did not work on one key and this was not explained to me at the time of sale. The dealership did work with me to try to reprogram the key, but in the end, it turned out that the key was a "dud." I was given the option to go in half for the payment of the new key. I felt this was very unfair since I was sold the car under the assumption that both keys were fully functional and not partially functional. I really had to argue this point with Jonathan (Don't know his last name) in order to get the key issue resolved. The arguing and haggling over the key was not necessary and not good customer service. I was also told that the key was never tested. In the end, the dealership finally offered to replace the key w/ remote entry at no cost to me. It was a great experience except for this one set back.

We bought a van with a sunroof as we have to have one. When the van was delivered, it did not have a sunroof. It was supposed to be installed. Took months, many phone calls, and the owners and managers would not return our calls. Finally, I asked a male to call on my behalf as I suspected I was being slashed because I was a woman. Truly, it did the trick. Within a week, I had the sunroof (five months later), but I had to drive seven hours and spend overnight in a hotel to get it done without any compensation for my expenses. There was a xxxx and bull story about a company in our area that supposedly said we came to their facility and they could not install. True, they did say, when we called, that they could not install it. But they swore to God they never said we drove to their place because we didn't. Anyway, I am a very successful business woman and have never been treated so shabbily. In addition, the male I asked to help me listened in to one of my phone calls and said, "For the first time in my life I see why women can be so frustrated by being treated like second or third class citizens." Jonathan was abusive verbally to me on our last conversation claiming that he did not have to live up to advertising. Never again would I use this company.

Our family came to Gastonia with the intentions of purchasing a 2014 Mazda6 and a 2010 Honda Civic from a dealership down the road from McKenney-Salinas. We just happened to stop in and look at the Accords on the lot before heading out to make a deal on the Mazda. Sitting down in that Accord changed my mind, but we still went to give the Mazda a chance. In the end, we went back to McKenney-Salinas and purchased a 2013 Honda Accord LX and a 2012 Honda Civic for our daughter. The process of trading two cars and buying two cars could be a difficult process, but Eddie Jarvis made it as pleasant as possible. My husband and I both felt that Eddie was honest and truthful with us, and because of that, it was probably the most comfortable car-buying experience we've ever had. We were able to get TWO vehicles with more features that we expected. We were also able to purchase a newer Civic than we expected, and our daughter is thrilled with her car! For financing, we dealt with Roger Hoyle. He had had a very busy day, but was very kind and extremely patient with us.I had a spoiler installed on my Accord, so I've just had my first experience with the service department as well. I was very pleased by their friendliness and could tell that the service department is well run. I should also mention that we drove from Spartanburg, SC, and there are Honda dealerships closer to us, but I'm convinced that we would not have gotten the same results! I would gladly recommend McKenney-Salinas to anyone who wants to deal with great people at a great dealership!

First, let me say that I hate shopping for cars. With that being said, my experience at McKenney Salinas was a positive one. My sales mangager, David Harbin, did a great job of getting my insurance set up and making sure my tags were mailed to me since I came from out of town to buy my car. I originally found the car on their web site. Their internet staff did a wonderful job from an accurate description of the car, its condition, and the full price I would pay to drive it off of the lot. It was worth coming from out of town to purchase my car here and i would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a car.

My 1999 CRV needed a seat belt replacement so while the service dept. was installing it I wandered around looking at the new CRVs.
