How to buy a Volvo the right way

Lovering Volvo has a staff, management and business model that makes car shopping a pleasant experience which leads to a very happy buying experience. Knowledgable and no pressure sales process from Shane Hayes. We got the info, we were given all the time we needed with car we were looking for and allowed to leave, without the usual "well there aren't many of these models left you better buy now stuff" We came back two days later and bough the car. They were very accommodating since they are over 150 miles from our home and we'd go back regardless of the distance for that kind of service.

No pressure, easy process

I drove to Lovering from the Burlington Vt. area to look at a XC70 that I found on their website. I was first greeted by Shane Hayes who was aware of my appointment and was very friendly. The atmosphere for a Saturday was a busy scene and lots of friendly staff. I test drove the car that brought me there but was not in love with that car or color. Allen told me about another car that was available but knowing my budget did not push. The car was brought out, Shane explain many features of the car and told me just to enjoy the ride and to have fun. I got in the car and as I was pulling out of the parking lot at Lovering I knew that this was my next car. I love this new car! I enjoyed my whole experience with Shane, Allen and BettyAnn.

Great Service and Staff

I had a great experience purchasing my 2014 Volvo S60, Shane and Roger were both great! I loved the fact that there was no pressure but they were there to answer all of my questions and listened to all my concerns. They helped me until I felt 100% comfortable! I would highly recommend this dealership!!!

Best buying experience yet...

On the hunt for a newer used vehicle, I went on the car guru site and began looking for what I was in the market for. I decided to go and check out the one at Lovering Volvo. Shane came out to greet us right away. He was very helpful and informative. After a test drive, we went in to start the paperwork. It was by far the best buying experience I have had yet. There was no push or sales hype to make me hasten my decision. They were all very pleasant and Betty Ann was great!!!

Friendly staff & quality service

I have purchased 2 Volvo's from Lovering; a used C-70 in Nashua and a new 2016 XC90 in Meredith. I am pleased with service and response at both locations. Being a dog lover, I do enjoy my greetings from Rocky! It is always a pleasure to see Bill, Chris, Roger and Jan. The staff I have not dealt with personally is always friendly as well. I would highly recommend Lovering. It is refreshing to have a dealership follow up to see if you are 100% satisfied. If you are not for any reason, they will resolve the issue. The right place to get your new car

I started looking for a new car before I moved to NH from overseas. Having looked at different brands and checked out different dealerships during my holiday break back home in December 2015, I decided to go for a Volvo XC60 from Lovering Volvo Meredith. The buying process was not easy as I was overseas in the past few months and could only communicate with Lovering Volvo Meredith over email. However, Mr. Allan Gauthier and Mr. Shane Hayes were more than patient with and helpful to me. I appreciate all the assistance the two gentlemen offered me. I am now a proud Volvo SUV owner, and would highly recommend this dealership to anyone who is considering a safe, well-built and fun car to drive.

My wife and I couldn't be happier with this buying experience! Sales process was informative and not pushy. The used car we were buying had just be traded in and wasn't ready to be sold. The dealership made the car look almost brand new.

Consumer friendly, clean facility, love my Volvo

This is my third Volvo XC70. I just love the style and convenience of this car for my lifestyle. Lovering of Meredith was great to work with in 2006 on the second one and is still a very consumer friendly dealership. Dick Hastings was very helpful and informative. Allan Gauthier easily handled the final paperwork. I really appreciated their time and patience explaining all the new features on my 2016. Wow! Back-up camera, GPS navigation, and blue tooth...I have so much to learn but I love my Volvo.

Very good experience

This is the third Volvo we have purchased from a Lovering dealership. Each transaction has been positive. Our first Volvo, a 2001 S80, has been an excellent car. It has 278,000 on it and it ain't done yet.

I had a Volvo back in the 80's and loved it. I moved on to BMW and Then Mercedes. I am happy to say that not only am I back to Volvo, but my whole family is. It started with getting my daughter her first car. Dick Hastings helped me find a great used Volvo. I wanted my daughter to be safe and I knew a Volvo was the only choice. They treated me so well at Lovering Volvo of Meredith, that I went back and purchased a brand new Volvo for my wife. Then I bought a nice C70 for my summer fun car. Recently I traded in the C70 and my F150 and bought the RDesign. What an awesome car. We traded in my wife's car after 3 years and just got the 2016 XC90. That is an amazing ride. It's time to trade in my daughter's car and Dick and Allen helped me find a great used XC70. We are picking it up soon. If you want to be treated fairly and honestly and get a great vehicle, go see the guys at Lovering Volvo of Meredith. You will not be disappointed!

I can't praise these folks enough. Went there to see a used car from Manchester with my own financing. I test drove the vehicle and decided I wanted it. The salesman, Shane Hayes, was not your typical salesman. He simply showed me what I was there to see and asked me if that was what I wanted. Yes!!! Shane is a Marine so he understands the 5 W's so we clicked right away! Huge plus. Not an advantage but a plus. He advised the young lady who does the financing that I walked in having my own and she was confident she could beat the rate I was offered. None of the usual song and dance amongst the salesman, sales manager and the finance specialist at Lovering; once the application was completed I went straight to her office. She estimated 20 minutes before she'd get feedback from the lenders she thought I would be approved at a better rate for but it took about 8 (I have an uncanny concept of time) and as promised I was approved at a better rate at close to HALF of the approval I walked in with. I completed and signed the paperwork within another 15 minutes (printing and signing) and was good to go. NOW; with that being said, there was the typical up-sale at the finance desk for an extended warranty (fully comprehensive powertrain, electrical, etc. with no deductible) originally for a term of 3/36 but opted for the 4/48 since the increase in the finance was marginal between the two and the difference in the payment without it was $40+ and some change considering with my own financing without the warranty I would've been $55+ over (+\-) and it was a done deal. As stated above, I'm in Manchester and drove myself there to do all this so they agreed to drive the car to the Concord location once ready. Executed and drove home from Concord. Very easy, veteran friendly (as the majority of their staff are vets) and no song and dance on the process. As I said, very atypical with dealers in general. Will purchase my next vehicle there... Guaranteed!!! 1000 stars to this business for the front to back experience. They truly understand that customers are there to BUY something and not be SOLD something for sure. Shop here first if you're in the market for a new Volvo or a used vehicle. They are in Nashua, Concord and Meredith, NH. Again, 1000 stars. Peace,W.

I didn't just buy a Volvo from a dealership, I bought from the BEST! From the moment I met with Shane, and then Roger, I was taken back by how personable they each were, how down to earth they were and how the entire process was zero stress. Finally an honest dealership!

I am a young college student who was unfortunately struck by a tractor trailer truck on the highway...twice. My beloved car was completely totaled and so the search for another used car began. After researching and visiting various dealerships for almost two months, I was getting quite discouraged as my spring semester grew nearer. Just days before I returned to school, I came across a used 2012 Nissan Altima on cargurus.com and for a great price! After visiting multiple dealerships with similar "great deals," I was suspicious because I had dealt with so many incompetent people who knew very little about the car they were selling. I was becoming frustrated with the unprofessional, dishonest dealers in my area and soon discovered Lovering Auto in Meredith, NH. It was an hour and forty minutes away, but I decided to take my chances. When I arrived with my parents, we saw the car and it looked immaculate! Shane Hayes came out to meet us right away and we were impressed after taking it for a test drive. They made the decision easy for us...this was the one! As for the dealership itself, Lovering Auto is quaint, clean, and professional and the people are great! They were never pushy, truly honest, and extremely fair. We were very happy and knew we had made the right decision! We had the best experience at Lovering Auto and they had exactly what we were looking for and more when it came to my used Nissan Altima. The car is in great shape and no problems so far! Both my mother and brother will be in need of new cars soon, and even though it is a long drive for us, it will definitely be worth it!!! Excellent customer service! Love my new car!

We purchased our first Volvo XC70 in 2008 at Meredith Lovering from Dick Hastings. We had such a positive experience, Lovering was our first and only choice when it came time to buy again. I wanted a gently used XC70 (I was very specific about price, color and options) and within a month Dick found exactly what I was looking for. He was fantastic to work with and the entire process was pleasant, easy and professional. When it comes time to buy again we will turn to Dick and Meredith Lovering. We highly recommend both!

Overall, a very good experience & would recommend

I had a very good experience. This is my 2nd purchase from Lovering, the first from Nashua, this one from Merideth. Friendly staff, quiet and relaxing environment, and a wonderful dog named Rocky was the cherry on top. ON top of getting a great car, I was satisfied with the price and the salesman (Shane) pointed me to a great restaurant on the lake for lunch while they did the paperwork. Their driver then drove all the way down to Boston to drop off my car at my workplace a few days later.

Incredibly Professional

Ordered XC90 in July from Rodger Lovering. Rodger kept me updated regularly. When my new car arrived his shop turned it around in a day. There was a bit of a snafu in the port installed options which both Rodger and I dealt with professionally with both of us giving a little. This could have been a big issue for both of us but Rodgers demeanor and integrity made it easy to work out. Like many women, buying a car is usually unpleasant. Not this time. Shane spent a great deal of time with me, answered all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable. For someone who was just starting to look, I bought immediately. I did not want to look any place further.

service department is crappy

The service dept needs to work on there manners and should prob not charge you 65 dollars go open your hood..yes they couldn't get the hood open on my car so they charged me 65 dollars to open a hood that had never had a problem before .so a lot of people seem to like these guys but the little service guy has absolutely no personality and would prob b better suited for a maintenance position

Easy, Great Deals, Caring Salespeople

I came from out of state because Lovering Meredith had exactly the car I wanted at a price that was far better than anywhere else. Add in the 7yr/100K mile warranty and it seemed like a no-brainer. I called ahead to schedule a test drive, and immediately fell in love with the car. Upon my return, I noticed a tiny fault with the vehicle: the passenger door would not open from the inside. I was told: "Not a problem, I will not let you leave here with it, but I will fix it under warranty." By the next morning, I had a voicemail saying the car was fixed.I returned a few days later and the car was exactly to my liking. The staff cared about me, my needs, and my concerns. They did not pressure me, but insisted on giving me EXACTLY what I wanted.In the end I bought the car and could not be happier. I owned a Volvo many years ago and then bought BMW and Mercedes vehicles. When it was time for my daughter to start driving, safety was my #1 concern so I thought of getting a Volvo. I went to Lovering in Meredith and I got a great deal on a used S60 and my daughter loves the car. Then I bought a used C70. Another great deal on a great car. We were so happy we also leased a new Volvo for my wife. Then we turned in the lease and purchased a brand new XC90. We could not be happier. I decided to trade in my C70 after 2 years and just purchased a V60R. I was given a very fair trade in on my C70 and a great price for the new V60R. This dealership is the best. We are all Volvo and very happy. Lovering is a great place to do business with for sales and service.

Great service and experience buying a used vehicle

I was looking for a very good quality used Subaru and located one on their web site. I inquired and then learned it was at one of their other locations. Without any hesitation they offered to have it brought to my local Lovering dealer. It was here that evening and I checked it out and initiated the purchase. It's a great quality vehicle, the price was extremely competitive compared to other locations, and they game a fair offer on a trade-in. The staff i worked with were excellent. I was at 39,065 and it was time for its regular maintenance. I was able to schedule an appointment quickly and they were great about working with my complicated schedule. They were also able to provide me with a loaner while my car was being worked on. That was GREAT as the service took about 2 hrs and I had lots to do and wasn't able to wait. The service was done in the time they estimated and I only ended up waiting just a few minutes while they finished washing my car. Who couldn't wait for that!?! Prior to having the work actually done Chris told me about how much it would cost as well (service plus inspection). I found that incredibly helpful as there's nothing worse than getting a shock at the end! The cost was as I'd expected and very reasonable given what was done. Everyone at Lovering in Meredith, from sales to service, is always very friendly and incredibly helpful! I won't take my Volvo anywhere else and highly recommend them!

Every service experience I have had atLovering Volvo in Meredith, NH has been very positive in all ways.When I call for an appt. and then when I drop the car off, Chris Carter is almost always the person who helps me. He is outstanding to deal with - extremely accommodating and polite. This time, the car was in for a State Inspection. Chris said the appt. would last about 1 hour, which was OK with me, but it was done in 40 min., including a wash and vac. The time efficiency really helped, because it enabled me to get to work on time!

I took my 2 daughters 2002 S60 in for a noise I was hearing in the front end. Lovering found a number of things that needed to be fixed that cost us about $1100. I drove it home and once again had a noise in the front end. I returned with it the next day and went for a test drive with the mechanic who had originally worked on it. He did hear it as well so put it back on the lift and went through everything. He couldn't find anything because everything is new in the front end so retightened everything and hoped that would solve the noise. Unfortunately it didn't. I had filled out a survey and said....spent $1100 on repairs but still have a noise however have been told its safe to drive,etc. Chris called me back and was not satisfied with the noise I was still hearing and requested I bring the car back. He had a loaner for me and kept the car until they could locate the noise which was a day and a half. Lovering isn't satisfied until it is 100% fixed. Chris listened to my concerns unlike some other dealerships we have been to that once the credit card is swiped you are done. Or the clock starts ticking and its more major $$$$$$. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dealership to anyone who either already has a Volvo or who may be interested in buying one. Meredith Lovering is also EXTREMELY accomodating when you need to have your car looked at ASAP. They have ALWAYS gotten us in when it is convenient for US!! We have 3 Volvos and will continue to give them our business.. Lovering Meredith is absolutely the best!!!!

I purchased a Volvo XC 90 from a dealership in Sarasota Florida covered under a CPO warranty. We have since moved to New Hampshire and have been fortunate enough to have a dealership resource such as Lovering close to home. While my experience with the reliability of the Volvo has not been the best, the service department, and Chris Carter, have made me feel that the brand cares for the aftersale experience. These guys have been very honest, knowledgeable and have taken great care of us the last three years. I highly recommend the dealership and mostly the service area.

My Volvo was taken in for an oil change, a total cleaning, detailing and inspection. At some point, I was called and told the car would NOT pass inspection and needed almost $2000.00 worth of repairs. I questioned what repairs were needed as it seemed excessive. After some discussion, I was told if they could replace the rear brakes, they could put on a 60 day temporary inspection sticker. I agreed to this as we were leaving on a trip that afternoon and needed the car. When we went to pick up the car, it was not ready, hadn't been cleaned as agreed and, after leaving, I discovered the oil had NOT been changed and there was no new inspection sticker. I took the car to another Volvo dealership later on and the car passed inspection! I said nothing when I dropped the car off as I wanted to see what would happen. I would never recommend this dealer to anyone.

In December 2009 our daughter and son-in-law were on their way to visit us in Moultonborough. During the ride from Massachusetts on Friday night our daughter called to tell us that a warning light came on the dash in her Audi and she wasn't sure what it meant ( it looked like a Christmas ornament with an X through it ). Since my husband also has an Audi he looked up the symbol in his Audi book. He determined that a taillight was out. On Saturday morning we sent them into Meredith to purchase a bulb from a local auto parts store but no one there was able to explain how they were to install it. They called our house to explain the situation. I told them that I thought the Service Department at Lovering Volvo ( where I purchased my Volvo ) was open on Saturday morning. They drove up the street and found that they indeed were open until noon. I had told our daughter to mention that I was a customer but she did NOT do that. She went to the service desk and explained the problem and asked if they could help. The service manager told them it could be done in ten minutes so she gave him her keys and the already purchased bulb. Ten minutes later it was done and when she asked how much she owed them she was told that there would be NO charge! She was astounded and grateful. The following week when I returned to Lovering for a scheduled maintenance appointment I mentioned this story to the service manager ( who remembered the situation ) and was told that they do this sort of thing all of the time. I continue to be pleased with the service department and also with the salesman who sold me the Volvo. His name is Dick Hastings and he has always been extremely helpful and friendly whenever I am in for service. If I needed a ride somewhere while waiting for my car he has either arranged a ride or driven me himself. Lovering Volvo of Meredith is the best car dealership I have ever experienced.

Lovering Volvo was able to diagnose and repair an intermittent problem with the AWD function of my 2005 XC90 that the Volvo dealer I purchased the vehicle from was unable to find despite three separate visits. The significance of the situation was heightened by the fact that the vehicle had 99K+ miles on it with the 100K mile Extended Warantee soon to expire. Chris Carter and his mechanics worked diligently to diagnose and repair the problem and in doing so saved me $4,500. It was the best customer service interaction I have ever experienced.
