Ray Becker is the first salesman who actually knew quite a lot about the vehicle he was selling. Most salesmen have their little canned sales speech from the dealership or limited knowledge of the vehicle they are trying to sell beyond color and gas mileage. I have bought a lot of cars in 53 years of driving. If you go to Lia of Northampton I would recommend Ray as the salesman to deal with.

This is the BEST dealership I have ever worked with. I was in 2 accidents in a month-resulting total loss both times and was super grumpy to have to go car shopping again but Kevin and Jason both were wonderful and made the process so much easier than any dealership I worked with in the past. I recommend everyone to go here for their next car. I know for sure I won't be going anywhere for another car. 11/10 recommend them!!!

I bought a 2013 Honda Civic from Lia Honda of Northampton and the experience overall was both stressful, and difficult.The sales people lied to me about my deposit being non-refundable after they backed out of a verbal agreement to do some minor work to the car prior to me signing for it. The car was delivered from their Lia Colonie location and did not come as described. It had 7k more miles than listed, different tires, and had more cosmetic damage than the listing showed. I asked for a couple oil changes for the mileage discrepancy (much less than the NADA value difference) and a new set of tires, with front and rear alignment. I also requested they fix the fender liners which had been put back on incorrectly after a minor accident they didn't tell me about until my mechanic looked at it. I offered this off the bat since they paid to have the car delivered from a sister location and did not want to be difficult about it. They said they couldn't do that, so after some talking, I walked out, and within 10 minutes got a call saying they could do those things. I reiterated what I wanted on the phone and they again, agreed to those aforementioned things. Upon my arrival two days later, the tires were put on but not aligned and the oil changes were taken off the table. They also did not fix the fender liners. They said they couldn't tell me when the last alignment was done but that it didn't need it.Eventually I bought the car and took it back twice for the fender liners to be fixed (they added the little plastic screws but didn't line them up right) and one tire needed to be patched because it was either faulty, or put on wrong the first time. So much for nice "new" tires. Additionally the service department rep was rude to me when I did not know the protocol for picking up my registration from them for a newly purchased car.I expect dealerships to be stressful and to try to take your money, I expect sales people to sell hard, but I didn't expect the blatant lying as a tactic to box me, nor did I expect the extremely negligent service department. My overall experience with Lia was stressful and ultimately, very difficult. I would not recommend them to anybody in the area, and if you do go through them, make SURE you get any agreements in writing because both my sales person and his managers had no trouble promising me one thing and then taking it off the table when it was time for them to make good on their promise. They even lied about the interest rate they could offer me, once I came in to sign the paper, it was higher. I seriously cannot overstate this enough, I made them write some things down, and while they did it begrudgingly, it was the only thing that kept those agreements afloat.

To anyone who is contemplating doing business with Lia Honda in Northampton, DON'T. My boyfriend and I just bought a 2016 CRV this past week and the experience was horrendous. These people are the reason there is a slimy car salesman stereotype. They will low-ball you on your trade-in (Make sure to Kelley Blue Book it!), try to make you more "comfortable" with your purchase by promising you world, then conveniently forgetting ever having a conversation with you. Specifically, Ray Becker in Sales and Anthony Bailey in Finance will claim to sweeten the deal by throwing in some "complimentary" perks such as Simoniz clear-coat protectant, extended three-year warranty, etc -- which then show up on the purchase contract for $595 and $1500, respectively. When you question the aforementioned salesman, he responds with the laughably cliched, "I don't remember saying that." The customer service response is, "We'll note this and put it in your file." Which, what does that even mean? Anyway, my boyfriend returned today to have the clear-coat (that we paid for) applied, only to be stuck at the dealership from noon to 5:15 and still no Siminiz application, which was supposed to take an hour, tops. He has to go back tomorrow. These people will rob you blind and expect you to thank them for it. I am just a random person on the internet that you have never met before, but friend, steer clear.

Too bad there isn't an option to select "zero" stars... that's what their service department and general customer service skills would get.Worst customer service experience ever... and it wasn't even my car! My sister had a valve adjustment performed on her 2008 Honda CRV a few weeks ago. She noticed a smell of burning oil and asked me to check under the hood for her. I opened the hood and immediately noticed that there was an oil leak coming from one of the valve cover stud(s) / bolts holding the valve cover on. Upon further inspection... one of the studs wasn't even finger tight! How do you perform a valve adjustment and then fail to properly tighten the fasteners holding the valve cover onto the engine?!?! I tried to tighten it by hand and the stud just snapped clean off from the engine. CLEARLY someone zipped the fastener onto the stud with an air gun and noticed they screwed up... so then they backed it off and it got loose and started leaking oil. She tried calling the service department to talk to someone about the shoddy work and was transferred all the place for 20 minutes until someone said that the service department was too busy to take her call and someone would call her back. A few hours later, someone finally got back to her and advised us to have the car towed up to them... that it was not safe to drive without the valve cover properly tightened onto the engine. The car was towed up to them on Saturday... sat there all Sunday (service is closed on Sunday). She didn't get a call back until Monday afternoon from a service adviser stating that there was nothing wrong with the car and everything was fine. She then had them call me (I'm the family car guy) to try and make sense of this utter nonsense that her car was "fine" with a snapped valve cover stud. I spoke with a service adviser later the same afternoon and stated that they CLEARLY were the ones who had last performed service on the vehicle and had broken it and were responsible for their work. The adviser said he would call me back sometime today. I just received a call from the same adviser that he spoke to the service manager and that they would NOT be covering the repair to the shoddy work they had performed NOR would they be issuing my sister a refund for the price of the valve adjustment, which they botched.In the meantime, my sister has filed and dealer complaint with American Honda corporate to try and get something accomplished with the severely incompetent people who run and operate Lia Honda Northampton. This is no way to treat customers, let alone human beings. Hopefully American Honda corporate can help us out in dealing with Lia Honda Northampton and if not, we'll be swiftly filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to report them for their horribly awful business practices.We're all human and mistakes happen... but when you won't own up to your mistakes, won't stand behind your work and stick it to the customer to pick up the repair bill for your screw-ups... something is severely wrong... and you won't be in business for long if you keep treating your customers with such blatant absurdity and horrendous customer service.

I picked out a 2009 Nissan Sentra from the Lia website and contacted them via the site to say I was interested in the car. I received a quick response, and made an appointment to see it. Eric Anderson was there to show us the vehicle and let me test drive it. I decided to buy it, and Eric was very helpful, and took care of a few minor issues I had, i.e. a faded tint in the back window, and a haze on the plastic headlight covers, as well as a few scuffs on the paint. He took care of us as if it were a brand new vehicle. We are very pleased with Eric's efforts, and highly recommend him and the other folks at Lia Honda!

I purchased my 2013 Honda Accord at Lia Honda of Northampton well over two years ago (2/14). When I bought it the car had around 17K miles on it and it was like new! Recently I began to have problems with my starter. It was intermittent, but every so often the car simply wouldn't start right away, always causing me some alarm. Last week I was away on business and my husband brought my car into the dealer. Fully expecting to hear that the car was "out of warranty" or that the starter wouldn't be covered, I was beyond surprised, amazed, delighted and impressed when I learned that Lia had replaced the starter at no charge to me. A special shout-out is due Ms. Desiree Frank, the Service Adviser. According to my husband, Ms. Frank was not only helpful and accommodating, she was also a pleasure to work with. This rare, but much appreciated experience, is the reason I will be back to Lia for all my future purchasing needs. And Desiree...thank you for going the extra mile and for making a real difference to this extremely satisfied customer (I hope you are in a position of true influence because you have a lot to teach the automotive industry!). 10 out of 10 stars for this dealer!

We want to thank everyone at Lia Honda, especially Jim Paixao, Kevin and Ashley for the service we received. We were originally going to purchase a 2015 Honda CRV but it has some problems. Jim told us the fixes were not going to be quick so we decided to go with a new 2016 CRV. We picked out the car we wanted, everyone went out of their way to process the paperwork, prep it and get it ready for us to drive home. We met with Kevin a couple days later and he and Jim helped us get the registration and sticker processed quickly. We would absolutely recommend Lia Honda to our friends and family.

I want to thank everyone at Lia Honda in Northampton for making what started out as an iffy car buying experience a wonderful one. Everyone we dealt with went way out of their way to accommodate us.A very special thanks to Mike, the general manager for what he did.Here is our story: I found a used Honda CRV on their website that was just what I was looking for. We signed papers last Saturday and picked up the car on Wednesday. When we got home there were a few things that we noticed that needed to be addressed, (passenger airbag light blinked off and on, couldn't lock or unlock the car with the remote) so I called the next day and made an appointment with their service department. When they checked out the airbag problem they realized it wasn't going to be a quick fix. When we heard that we started to doubt our decision to buy this used car so we spoke with the general manager and told him our concerns.He was so understanding and he allowed us to give back the car and buy a new 2016 CRV at such a great deal we couldn't say no. They rushed all the new paperwork through, prepped the car and we drove home with it.I can't say enough about Lia Honda. Buying any car, used or new can be so stressful but not here.We live about 45 minutes away from Northampton but because of the great service and people we dealt with I would absolutely go back and buy from them and recommend them to anyone!

Jim Paixao is incredible!! It's hard to imagine today that someone who works for a car dealer's service dept. would actually tell you that you don't need a service appointment. I came in today for an oil change appointment I made as I thought it was time (6 month old CR-V with just under 2500 miles). But Jim explained the oil change needs of my new Honda with CVT and that it really wasn't necessary until I had driven it many more miles. He also took the time to explain about synthetic oil. I am more informed about my car and I will certainly be bringing my car to Lia for service and the second car in our family (Subaru) as well!

This is the best service experience I have ever had in a dealership. My 2010 Odyssey developed problems that left us stranded, and this is the only dealership that took care of it. Two other dealerships basically punted the problem where Lia tackled it. It required a major engine rebuild, and after that other problems surfaced and they carefully went over the vehicle and fixed everything. I was left with only a nominal fee for the parts that were in addition to the otherwise covered expenses. The service manager John and the service advisor Michael Allende were terrific to deal with. They were completely up front, did not minimize the problem or put it on me (as one dealership did), but owned it and fixed it. I bought this Odyssey from them, and they clearly stand behind their customers. When you purchase a vehicle, you often don't know what to expect from their service department. In this case, they will stand behind you, treat you courteously, and fix the problem. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Soon as i got there I was looking for Casey Hines he had just put my wife in her first Honda of her own, and she said that she will never not be driving one ever again she loves her car. Casey was great as always very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately he had a delivery to do so he brought me to Koren O' Sullivan who in the Lia Honda way friendly, knowledgeable and took great care of me by the end of my visit i was all set to roll out in my new 2016 Honda Civic. We are loving this car it is everything and more that Koren said it would be. Not a day has gone by that i come out of work or a store and have someone standing in front of my car asking about it. I brought my car in for several maintenance services and also discovered brake work was needed. There were some issues at first (prices quoted on website were lower than prices quoted at dealer at time of service, it was a bit unclear at first why multiple services at once did not lead to more efficiencies, and thus, lower prices, for labor charges, and it took a bit longer than I expected, even with the additional work). My service rep for the day, who I believe was Jaime Lopez, per the name on my bill, delivered great customer service. He tracked down the some of the problems, such as explaining that the web page was out of date. He talked to his manager and enabled me to get the web site quoted prices. He checked in periodically to explain how the job was progressing. And he explained the issues in a friendly, clear, and helpful manner. He was great to work with on what ended up being a very long day. I would highly recommend working with him. I left still feeling good about Lia Honda, even with the issues, because of what Jaime did that day.


Salesmen were real people and treated me as real person.

My vehicle search was 7 months-duration and led me to 7 dealerships, and some online sites. My financial situation might be considered non-typical, and presented certain boundaries in which I had to stay. At Lia Honda, I met and was assisted by three salesmen, two more extensively. All were genuinely friendly, with balance of courtesy, humour and welcoming manner. Each put emphasis on listening to what I needed in a vehicle, and to the financial situation by which I am bound. Clearly, Lia Honda's financial management staff were ready to work with my circumstances, in-concert with the salesmen. Together, they offered me a vehicle with which I was 100% satisfied, and met the price I was bound to meet. However, simultaneously, the price offer was matched by a Subaru dealer for an XV CrossTrek, which I felt had 2 specific advantages beyond the many of the Honda CRV.I chose the Subaru because of its 8.7" ground clearance and more compact size (than Honda CRV).I love the shape and everything else about the HCRV. However, the extra ground clearance and smallness of the CrossTrek fit my needs just a bit more exactly. (Its clearance is also greater than that of the Honda HRV, I think. If not, I stand corrected and apologize for error.) I didn't want to say no to the salesmen of Lia, as they most definitely gave me their full attention for approximately 6 hours, (2 sessions). Both of the two with whom I worked finally, had what I feel was a truly caring manner towards me. They persevered to find the best vehicle that would work financially, too. I really wished I had the means to buy both the Honda and the Subaru!To conclude, let me emphasize that the attentive and caring manner of the two young men who assisted me, and the sales experience they carried out with me, was exceptionally, outstandingly enjoyable and helpful ! If I had the means to buy two cars, I would've bought from Lia without hesitation ! .

I use this service dealership because I live in town but they are severely unstaffed here and not very customer oriented. I just spent two days trying to get through to service department but the lines were so busy that the switchboard person told me the best thing would be to leave a message. I did, TWICE , yet did not receive a call back either day. And my experience when I go to drop off or pick up my car has also not been the best. Many times I will stand at a desk and not even be acknowledged with a "Hello, someone will get to you as soon as we can" And I will stand there and watch the service employees talk with each other , talk on the phone ( sometimes calls are very obviously personal YET not seeming of an urgent matter) . Out of the dozen or more times I have taken my car there it is a rare exception to be waited on in under 10 mins EVEN when I am the only customer there. I also had a car charger that disappeared from my car once and someone lost my lug nut changer yet they did not acknowledge that they lost it, they tried to tell me I never brought it in... which was nonsense as they used it that visit to change my snow tires. I think they do average work for a high price but it is the LACK of customer service that makes me not want to return .

Michael Allende helped me on this visit, and he was courteous and informative. I continua to purchase Hondas at this dealership largely because of my experience with their service department, which has been unfailingly reliable, prompt, and attentive.

Well first they lied to me that I was not approved on my loan, I was told "I was not approved because of my negative equity or something like that", only to find out I was approved but it didn't work out in their favor, meaning they would not make enough money off of me to bother. I was told my payment would be ($$$) and they "would do all they could to get me in". So I went to Curry Honda about the same 2015 Civic LX and guess what? I was approved on the next model up, an SE with a $45 less per month payment and extra warranties(tire and wheel warranty, service prepaid for 5 years, premium warranty covering brakes, battery, struts, bulbs, I can go on and on) all included. Did I mention it's an SE model, not the plain LX I was told was the "Best case scenario if I am approved"? I won't ever suggest Lia to anyone I know. Not to mention when I went back to get my deposit, the finance manager Chris, who was my buddy 2 days before looked over at us and totally snubbed us. I am so glad they lied to me, because I got a better deal at Curry Honda. It was foolish even going to Lia to begin with. I will however say that Casey the salesman was professional and courteous. He should work for a real dealership that cares about people and doesn't lie..... Those 4 and 3 stars are for Casey.

Walked into showroom and waited over a minute before anyone approached us, then when she did didn't even introduce herself or shake our hands. Asked rather coldly "May I help you?" We told her we were there to look at Pilots and she asked new or used. We said yes. So she said "I'll get someone." We were a little taken aback and waited for someone else to come help us. After a few minutes, Ray came over and said in the same cold way "Can I help You?" Again, without introducing himself or shaking our hands. We stated what we had told the woman and he said we don't have any, rather rudely. At this point my blood pressure started rising and I was ready to leave. I said well your web site showed that you had one new this morning and one used. He said we sold the new one today and the used is in Albany. We proceeded to his desk and he looked online. He said there were 2 used at the Lia Toyota dealer across the street and he could bring them over or we could just drive over. Whatever was his attitude. He was just rude and arrogant the entire 10 minutes we talked. We have never been treated that way. I can't believe that's how they treat people they want to buy a car from them. We told him we would just go across the street and look at them there. We couldn't wait to leave and never go back.

Did not hand over a brochure. Did not show us any features about the car. Did not bother to accompany us for the test drive. Felt clueless about the Car we wanted after the entire experience.

I spent 3 months looking for this new Honda HRV (or a similar small car with great mileage) at a variety of Honda dealerships and other non-Honda dealerships. Most of the other vehicles/price/gas mileage, etc. didn't suit me. However I also have to say that the 'car sales experience' at other dealerships were all wrong at other dealerships. Lia sales staff are keepers. What a pleasure.

The initial meeting with Eric was great and the process of the sale was friendly, honest and with no pressure. Once we got to the the business manager the warranty sales / discussion was too dawn out. It could have been done in 15minutes. We came with our own financing so there were some jabs that were thrown our way because we did not go with Lia's financing. This was not appreciated but given how some dealerships respond when you show up with your own financing it was not a total surprise.

Efficiency and Professionalism , is how I would describe Sales Agent "Nicole Smith" ! She was able to get me in the car I wanted at the price I wanted. She did not waste my time, I walked in filled out the paper work and in a few hours I was driving away in my new Honda Civic . Before I left Nicole sat in the car and explained every detail of the vehicle so I could be familiarized with it. She was friendly and showed sincere interest. A few days later she called to assure I was happy with the car, which I was. My Past experiences with other agents were not good . I took my car to Lia Honda for its state inspection, but was very happy they did a free check of all systems and found a problem. James Paixao was very clear about the parameters and did not pressure me at all to fix it now. He was respectful, warm, and very clear in his explanations. I hope to deal with him again next time I visit. I did not have a good experience with Sales here--but that was 7 years ago--so now I am giving this dealership another chance. James did a lot to boost my estimation of this Honda dealership and I will happily return, especially if I can work with him (or someone as competent and cordial.

I have been a loyal Honda patron for 24 years, and for the last 12 at Lia Honda,formerly Northampton Honda. Today, I had a scheduled oil change at 10 a.m. which normally takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. Today, however, I was still waiting until 12;15 when the service clerk approached me after he noticed me angrily speaking to the service manager about the delay. He proceeded to tell me that the bolt that holds to oil pan had broken off and needed to be replaced. If that didn't work, a new oil pan would have to be installed at a cost of upwards of $300. I agreed to a new plug, which I was told would be another wait. Well. that set me off more, considering that problem should have been discovered much earlier. Job completed with no charge to me. That took some of the sting out, but I was still left with a less than satisfied feeling. Oil change.... THREE hours! I have always been satisfied with the service here, but if today had been my first visit, it certainly would have been my last, and the jury is still out as to whether I will return in the future.

He was able to read our needs accurately and quickly presented a vehicle that really was perfect for us in terms of color, mileage, cost, functionality, condition, safety, and more. Honda really does price their vehicles just under market value. There was real no need for negotiation and we came away from the purchase feeling as if we got a fair price on a great and, most importantly, reliable vehicle. Their representative, Jeff (I forget his last name), who helped us with financing and, ultimately settling the finances, was very clear, very well prepared, and just made the whole process efficient, smooth, and comprehensive. They would not budge on their price and weren't willing to repair any damage on a 2011 Accord that had rust, paint damage, scuffed rims and headlight, and a smashed in exhaust tip. No pressure, friendly and was very helpful in helping us select a vehicle that would meet our needs. Lia management worked with us on a great trade in value and we were able to drive home our new car the same day. An excellent experience as soon as we walked through the door from sales rep to General Manager and then to closure. We have had the car for five days and it appears to be an excellent choice for us. FRAUD! They want every last dollar of your hard earned money

So they tried to force a warranty on me. I never wanted one to begin with but when it came time to sign the papers it was already rolled into the price....2250 extended warranty and I was told that the lender would not approve unless I purchased the warranty. After I bought the car I did some research and called wells Fargo and they informed me it was FRAUD. Lisa Honda forced a warranty on me to squeeze every last dollar out. Well, wells Fargo called Lia Honda and the corporate office contacted me. They were polite and helpful and rectified my situation by canceling the warranty and giving me a 250$ gift card (nice gesture but really does not cover being extorted for 2,250). Well needless to say when I returned to the dealer to sign new papers, there was something else I noticed where they extrapolated every last dollar out of me and probably many other hard working middle class Americans....Dealer Conveyance Fees. I read my forms and saw I was charged 399$ for dealer conveyance fees which apparently just means doing paperwork. When I asked I was told it is normal by all standards but when I looked it up on Google you see on Mass.Gov that this fee is unnecessary and ranges from 35$ to 399$. Lia was the highest of course! So at this point I want to get out of there but I ask anyway, "could we waive the dealer conveyance fee because of all that has happened?". I was laughed at and rebuked. Impossible! He said. Again the corporate office was very helpful but the dealer in Northampton is looking to maximize profit even if they break the LAW. This was not some rogue salesman, it is the DEALERSHIP. Watch out for the forced warranty and if they slap a four hundred dollar dealer conveyance fee walk! Unless you like to be royally screwed and just giving your money away for no reason. Hey, I might start a business, I am going to walk your papers back and forth, fax some stuff for an hour or two, then you give me 400 bucks! Oh wait it will just be rolled up in the loan. So really that will actually cost you closer to a grand. Just for walking some papers back and forth to get your car registered. They want every, last, dollar.

Had a horrible experience at Balise in west springfield and was treated very poorly after they changed (raised) the quote on our negotiation. I then went to Lia honda and explained my experience with Balise and they took great care of me. Remer was extremely helpful and honest in sales. Once purchased, Connie was the financial consultant that did all the paperwork for the new 2013 Honda Civic Ex I got. She was extremely nice and made this part of the deal stress free and quick. Best experience I have ever had at a dealership and this was my fifth Honda purchase between my wife and I. Will definitely go back for future purchases. Thank You!!!!

Was pleasantly suprised with buying experience here. Have bought many different vehicles at different dealerships, and none have been this honest or friendly as Lia of Nothampton. Totally recommend Ashley. She was honest, fair, and friendly. Even went out of her way to get a Toyota Sienna to let me test drive from another dealership. But ended up buying a 2010 Honda Odyssey here instead as I preferred it's price and options. Was shocked to see actual Internet price was same as what dealership offered to me. No games or hidden fees. As with any dealership you have the same song and dance with price haggling. And although they wouldn't budge much on price, it was still a good deal. Which is reason why I went there to begin with. Ashley was excellent and professional. And loan officer was OUTSTANDING also. They even suprised me with a new battery on day I picked it up. The only cons I can say was the detailing/cleaning wasn't very great (still see splash sticky soda on a van door. It is really quite a bit so shouldn't be missed) and tank only 1/4 full. But these are both minor to me. As I got a great deal, great service, and finally a pleasent buying experience. Will definitely buy from again.

I bought my van back in January and I still stop over to see the sales staff when I am in for service. It is nice to see a place with some female salespeople. Janine helped answer all my questions about the process of buying a car, finance and lease options, and knew a lot of details about the odyssey. For a young woman she seems to know a lot about cars. This was our FIRST stop car shopping.... We decided to fill out a online application form and so we did. We then got a call the next day from a woman named Kathy who said we were pre-approved and that they indeed have the vehicle we needed. She asked if we could meet there that evening. I asked her if we needed to bring any paper work with us because we live about and 1hr or so away we didn't want to make a wasted trip. She assured us that we were all set. So, we arrive at the dealership, upon entering through the doors the receptionist looked like we she was just "all to thrilled" to ask us why we were there. Almost felt as if we were the ones intruding on there down time, so to speak. Another girl named Janine I believe that's what she said came over to us and started asking us what it was we were looking for... I was somewhat annoyed at the fact I had already specified in an email what we were looking for also we had already filled out a credit application. Well Janine proceeds to brings us to her cubicle and tell us to fill out the paperwork again. This was before we even saw the vehicle we had came to see. After we fill out the credit application (again) We give it to her and she brings it to the finance office. By that time she tells us we can go ahead and look at the vehicle... Let's start with the vehicle, it was in no condition to be seen!! Coffee cups crunched in the driver's door, dirty used napkins throughout the vehicle and god knows what else. It was horrific and disgusting! I had, had enough! We then sat back at Janine's table where she told she didn't have anything else to offer in that price range... Which was okay. So my husband and I shook hands and said thank you for your time. As we walked out of the little cubicle, I turned to say thank you again, and to my disbelief I witnessed Janine rolling her eyes and whispering who knows what, at a employee who's cubicle was right next to hers. Really?! We haven't even touched the door handle to leave.. UN- freakin' believable! Not only was the vehicle in NO condition to be shown but, the very lack of customer service was appalling. I normally am not the one to write reviews but, the service and my expectations for our FIRST stop car shopping were horrible at Lia Honda, and I honestly would NEVER recommend family nor friends to that dealership.. Truth be told: Clean up your act, vehicles, and customer service before welcoming new potential customers in. Oh and just a FYI our second stop at a different dealership was like night and day and tomorrow we will be driving our brand-new car!

I bought a used, low mileage 2002 Odyssey that needed some cosmetic attention. As part of the deal they had some body work done, and they serviced the van as well. The body work came out beautiful and they did an excellent job cleaning it up, even under the hood. They really went above and beyond when servicing it too. They determined the rear vents were operating too slowly and therefore needed replacement, and they also changed the wipers, tires, and the battery. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with - the saleman Brian, the sales mgr, the person who did the purchase papers, the woman who took my money, and the mechanic who changed the battery. Very professional and pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend giving them a visit and will not hesitate to go back for another vehicle.

Shopping for a new car is usually a bit stressful. It is such a huge ticket item and you want to make sure you are buying something of quality and not getting pressured or ripped off, especially if you are a woman going in alone to select a car and negotiate a deal. Lia Honda of Northampton was really easy to work with. The salesman was very knowledgable and friendly and the credit department was good, too. I like dealing with the service team and although I could get my snow tires put on or my oil changed elsewhere, I just choose to have Lia do it. I like their free shuttle van, to get me to work, and the speed at which they get repairs and oil changes done. Also, when I was buying my car, I wanted a certain color as well as a manual transmission. Manuals are few and far between, so it was a bit out of the ordinary, but instead of trying to change my mind to take one of the correct color but an automatic transmission, Ray found one at another Honda and had it driven to Lia.I recommended Lia Honda to my Mom and she bought her used car from them as well.

I recently purchased a new Honda Fit at Lia Honda and the overall experience greatly exceeded my expectations. My salesman was straightforward, knowledgable and had great customer service skills. The finance manager was patient and answered all of my questions completely and, it seemed, balancing my financial interests with those of the dealership. This experience flew in the face of all the unpleasant stories about car buying that I'd heard before. I drove away from the dealership in my new car feeling accomplished AND feeling like a got a great deal!! ***FYI I did do quite a bit of research before walking into the dealership to buy. I would highly suggest a new car buyer to know exactly what you want and how much you want to pay BEFORE stepping foot in the dealership.

I chose Lia of Northampton because a good friend of mine always has always had great experiences there. Though I have yet to actually purchase a car, I spent a great deal of time discussing options, driving cars and discussing the car buying process with Brian. I had originally put a few hundred down with intent to buy, but decided to hold off on purchasing a car until the summer-time. I was refunded my money within a timely manner. I found all the staff to be friendly and was happy to not be swindled as a 25-year-old single female.

I bought my car at Lia Honda several years ago, the first time I'd ever bought a new car, but the process was smooth and easy. I felt little pressure from the dealer, and he seemed to listen to my concerns and questions, and helped me arrive at a decision that was right for me (even though I didn't buy the most expensive brand available or upgrades or things like that). That has prompted me to have almost all my car repairs and service done there, with the exception of some emergencies and annual emissions checkups, even though I've moved away and now live closer to several other dealers. The repair crew is very good, the customer service has been excellent, and the prices are reasonable. I've only had concerns about repairs/services once or twice, and they've always rectified any problem. I'd definitely recommend buying from Lia Honda and having a car serviced there.

The service staff have always been helpful and friendly from scheduling to updating me while my van is being serviced. The waiting area is comfortable and the bathrooms clean. There are snack machines as well as free coffee and tea along with a large flat screen tv for customers to watch. We have been faithful customers of Lia Honda Northampton for many years and it was the first place we went when looking for a new car. The deal we arranged was a trade-in, swapping a used car for a new one to reduce the price of our purchase. Everything seemed to be going well. We were promised a $1000 rebate for the old car, which seemed fair enough to us for a car as old as ours. But when we went to the dealer, despite the fact that the car was in great condition for an old model (the only real thing wrong with it was that it needed a new transmission, which was the first thing we told them) and that they took it for a test drive and examined it to confirm this fact, they then tried to give us a lower price than the promised one. The claim was that they had examined the CarFax and seen that there was "structural damage" from being struck in a fender bender four years ago (apparently referring to a large dent to one of the panels and the bumper that we had long since had repaired). Why hadn't they done all that before making their offer? They made us drive all the way out to the dealership for a deal they couldn't follow through on. We left in disgust and went to a nearby Nissan dealer who was more than happy to accommodate us. We got our $1000 dollar rebate and new car and won't be returning to Lia Honda any time soon.

I've bought 2 previous cars from Lia in Northampton, but will never set foot on a Lia lot again. I went into Lia Honda to test drive a new CR-V. That experience itself was fine. We didn't come to a deal (they wanted more money down than I wanted to pay), which again, is fine. The issue is that I was asked to put a $500 down payment while they worked the deal. I was told that if we didn't come to terms, it would be immediately refunded. When I told them I didn't want the deal, I asked about the money and was told that they would refund it. 2 days went by and no $500. I went by the dealership and asked if they wanted me to swipe my card, and they said no, we were all set and that the GM just needed to sign it. We would be all set and I'd have my money back. 2 more days went by...stll no money. I called again and was told the GM hadn't signed it yet because he had wanted to relook over the deal. They will get it done immediately, I was told. More days went by....still no money. I called again, and this time spoke to a sales manager and was told (by him) that apparently he is the only one there who knew what forms needed to be signed, and could I come down and sign them so I could get my money back. Seriously??? The sales manager can't even train his own team? By this point, 10 days had elapsed. This was the worst customer service I think I have ever had. They were all about my business when they thought it would benefit them, but they couldn't have cared less after I didn't buy the car. It was disgraceful.

After being treated nicely and shown some interesting vehicles by a decent sales guy, the managers insulted me with their lowball trade-in offer. I knew the value of the vehicle, even if salvage, and they were way off. Their attitude was awful - it was like they were not interested in selling cars at all. Most places will at least give you some incentives, some discounts, somehow try to make it appear they are giving a fair trade-in deal. Not Lia. They were abrubt, condescending and dismissive. It is sad, because I am a loyal Honda owner and local business owner and wanted to deal locally to support the community. I called this dealership to get the details on a used truck they were advertising. Spoke in detail to a sales person and then had a follow up call with one of the managers. I explained that I wanted to know the EXACT condition of the vehicle before driving 70 miles to get there. The vehicle was totally misrepresented, and when I pressed them asking if they lied or they just had no clue on how to honestly evaluate the condition of a used vehicle they could care less. The bodywork looked like it had been done with a spray can in someones back yard. I have been buying new & used cars for more than 30 years and I can honestly say this is absolutely the worst experience I ever had. Excellent experience start to finish. I went in looking for a car for my wife concerned with monthly expense. I needed a car for my daughter as well, but I assumed I would give her mine and drive hers(small sacrifice for an amazing child). I left with two beautiful new Accords well within our monthly budget. One for my wife and one for my daughter. Two very happy women drove their new cars off the showroom as surprised as I was that they did so much to make it work. I can't thank the entire sales team enough. The cars are are amazing. The lack of pressure yet attention and responsiveness to our needs; and willingness to go beyond our expectations to make it all happen was incredible. Lia Honda is the best dealership we have ever dealt with!!! The minute we walked in the door, Mike N asked if he could help us. Having done some research beforehand,one of the car we were interested in was the 2012 Honda Civic LX. He brought us on a test drive and was very professional and explained all the "bells and whistles" on the car. We left there as there were 2 other cars we were interested in. After trying the others, we returned to Lia and told Mike we wanted the Civic. Never was there any pressure. We told him what we were willing to pay and there was no problem or haggling. They did not have the color I wanted in stock but would get it. 3 days later we went in and did the paper work. Mike L. could not have been nicer or more professional. By the way, one of the many reasons we chose the Honda was because of their excellent financing terms. The next day we went to get the car. Mike N was away for the weekend so Ashley brought the car around and answered all our question. I came back in 3 days to get the inspection done...service people were also very friendly and professional. As I drove away in my beautiful new car, I thought "This has been the best car buying experience I have ever had". As soon as I came into the dealership I could sense that the atmosphere was really great in here since all the employees were friendly and happy to help. I had an issue with bring pulled over for an alleged "illegal aftermarket exhaust" when my entire exhaust system was stock. the employees were really helpful and took my car in the shop and put it up on the lift to check the exhaust. they then showed it to me, that everything was fine and provided me with a paper, which certifies that my entire exhaust system is stock, just in case I get pulled over for the same reason again. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone that needs honda parts or honda service, and would myself return here in case I needed anything. My wife bought her last car from Lia. She had some minor issues (such as the 1/4 tank of gas at delivery- tacky!), but nothing too bad. So when Lia had the used car I wanted, I figured I'd give them a shot. Everything was going swimmingly until my salesperson (Mike Conlon) handed me just one key at delivery. I asked where the other key was. He said, "that's all it came with." Ok. Not the end of the world. I'll just go to the hardware store and have them make a copy for $10, right? No. It's a computer chip key. I call the Mazda dealer and they want $260 including the key, the fob, and programming. $260!? So I go back to Lia and explain to Mike how ridiculous it is that the car came with one computer key and how he had neglected to mention this prior to signing. I had been able to negotiate a whole 2.8% off the asking price but would be spending 1.8% to copy the one and only key. I was underwhelmed and I let Mike know this. He said he would look into it and get back to me in two days. Three days passed without a call, so I emailed him. No reply. So I stopped in to the dealer today to see a.) why he hadn't gotten back to me, and b.) what they were going to do to correct the situation. I got more of the same mumbo-jumbo from a flustered and unhelpful Mike until I asked to speak with the manager. I was optimistic that reason would prevail, but after a few minutes talking to the fresh-faced sales manager (also named Mike), I grew sick of his smug and condescending tone and realized that they could care less about my satisfaction. I gave them every chance to make things right. I even suggested they give me a voucher for several free oil changes to cover the cost of the key, figuring this would not put them out as much but still be of value to me. They wouldn't hear it. So, now I am making good on my promise to let people know what to expect *after* the sale. You're on your own. In the end, I went to Serv-u Locksmith and purchased a valet key for $60. Was $60 really worth the bad press, Lia? My wife and I won't be back.

I spent multiple times talking with Curry on the best prices they would do for a Pilot or another Odyssey. The price wasn't doable so I was just going to wait out the 3 months. I happened to be in Northampton so I stopped in just to look. Ashley Holloway was so nice, informative and not way pushy. She skipped all the going back and forth and asked me exactly what I wanted for price to not wait another 3 months. The price is bottom line for me and Northampton was better than Curry. I usually dread buying a car...I feel like it is a waiting game..meet the sales person, get a price, negotiate, sit and wait while he goes talk to the manager..blah blah blah...not so at this dealer...we had a young man Casey Bromfield as our sales person...we had definite ideas on what we wanted and what we would pay...he got right to the point, showed us the car that had exactly what we wanted and off we went...when we told him what we wanted for a trade, he spoke to Pat Esposito(a fellow New Yorker to boot)and we got what we consider a fair price for my beloved toyota tundra...we forgot to sign one document and Casey brought the document to my husband's office in Ct(50 minutes away)for him to sign...I went yesterday to get the crv inspected and was treated very well...I would recommend this dealer to anyone who wants to get a fair deal and be treated like a valued person...ask for Casey and Pat..they are a dream team....

I went to this dealership in the past and had a good experience, however my last visit really showed me that this dealershp is one of a kind. I needed service on my car but almost cried when I found out that the part was more then I really could afford. The service advisor went out of his way to look up my past history to find that my car was still under warrenty. It was such a relief that I didn't have to use a charge card to charge a service that I truly couldn't afford. It has been my experience at Lia Honda in Northampton that the people that work there are kind, helpful, diligent, and willing to go the extra mile to provide great service to all that enter their doors. I would definitely recommend this dealer to anyone who is looking for a great car, but more so to anyone who is looking for the GREAT service they provide.

I have been going to this dealership for service for over 6 years. All of the staff are helpful and responsive. The service manager is actively involved with all customers. They want you happy. I have 270,000 miles on my 06 CRV and I credit them and the fact that they listen to my concerns. We have made a good team keeping this car in excellent shape for my delivery business. I had done all my previous service at another local dealership and never felt as good or trusting of the service as I do with this dealership. They make you feel you are important for as little as a burnt out headlight or replacing wiper blade inserts. This is a very busy service department and they do an amazing job helping so many every single day. They are aware of my need for a reliable delivery vehicle and that I don't want it to be off the road for any significant amount of time. Repairs are scheduled around the hours the vehicle isn't being used and when all else fails, a loaner or rental is offered. I can't say enough good things. I also really appreciate the parts department...without parts there would be no repairs and their parts department is vital in making the repairs happen quickly and on schedule.

I have been a customer of Lia Honda of Northampton for many years. It is the only place I bring my car for service, in fact it is also where I purchased my car. I keep coming back because of the great service I receive. The staff is always friendly and available to answer all my questions. When I call to schedule my appointment, my advisor, Rob Avery, discusses the service with me upfront over the phone. This gives me an idea of what to expect at my appointment and how much it will cost. I am able to drop my car off before work (even if they aren't open) and pick it up after work. And I am always offered a ride. If something comes up that was unexpected with my service, Rob always calls me immediately and discusses the issue with me. I respect this tremendously, because he allows me to make the decision without feeling preasured or lied to. Rob even gives me a heads up when something should be rechecked and possibly handled at my next service. I remember one particular phone call asking me if I would like my inspection sticker taken care of, since it was expiring that week. It hadn't even occured to me that it was that time of year again. And it was very convenient to have it handled while the rest of my service was being taken care of. When I return, my car is always ready on time, and parked in an easy to find location. I have never been upset with my bill, and I attribute most of that to the fair prices and the fact that I am informed upfront of what to expect, so there are no surprises. For all these reasons I give Rob Avery and the service department a 5 star rating, however, I think he is more like a 10!

Rob and Greg have always treated me like family when I come in. They are fair and trustworthy. The work is done properly and when they say it will be. They have a nice, clean dealership with free coffee and wifi and will provide me with a shuttle ride when I need a ride into town. I had a great experience for buying my first new car. I bought a new 2011 Honda CRV-EXL from Mike Conlon and was very happy with the offer. They offered $800 less than the Greenfield Honda dealership for the same car. Mike is a very friendly salesman who makes sure all your needs are taken care of to your satisfaction. He wasn't pushy and answered all our questions. He was willing to meet our requests with ease and we appreciate his professionalism. We love our new car!

As a person who literally buys new cars every 18 months and is therefore no stranger to the process, I decided to give Lia a try. Having worked with Pat Esposito several times over the last fifteen years at other dealerships, I knew that he was the first person I would call. When I later walked into the Lia store, I had a feeling I would be a Lia customer for life. That feeling was cemented by the delivery of the car just two days later. Pat and Melony worked tirelessly to ensure that I was satisfied on every front, and I could not be happier with my new car. We will be on the market next year for a new truck for my husband, and have no doubt that truck will come from Lia. We would not consider shopping anywhere else.

The dealership was by far the best I have dealt with. The experience would lead me to come back for many years and I highly recommend anyone that is looking for a car to visit Lia. They didn't pressure me and gave me a great deal. My salesperson was great and the GM Jim Webster made me feel important. The car I wound up with is great. Lia Honda took our trade in and sold us a 2007 Kia Spectra in 2008. I recently traded the Kia in on another vehicle. The Kia did not hold it's value (2 years later it wasn't worth half of what we paid for it...NEVER BUY A KIA!!) but that wasn't necessarily Lia Honda's fault (other than the knowledge that they were selling us a crapy car). The entire sales experience was a joke...but that's not the worst of it...FRAUD WARNING! Lia Honda sold an "extended warranty" for said Kia in the amount of $2,235. The warranty was sold as "kicking in" after the 60,000 mile Kia manufacture warranty expired. When I sold the car, I went to refund the warranty as it was never used and the car only had 61,000 miles on it. To my surprise, I learned that the warranty was written from mile 0 - 50,000 and 72 months. Basically, it was less than the manufacture warranty offered by Kia. I contact Lia Honda for the paper work (which was never provided during the original sale) and to discuss the fraud. The manager agreed that we had been swindled. (Of course under different management). The GM agreed we had been robbed. Neither were authorized to refund the stolen funds. They brought the issue to the owner who offered to sell me another car at cost.... That was it. I am unwilling to purchase another car from LIA HONDA and would like a refund for the fraudulent warranty. After significant research we have found Lia Honda's prices (even at cost) are unreasonable. Why would we support a business that STOLE from us? Hopefully, Lia Honda's owners will see the light before lawyers get involved and I will have better news to report, like they are interested in changing their reputation for poor customer service and defrauding customers. Beware!The sales experience was in-kind to the fraud.... price increased well into negotiations and the car was not repaired prior to customer pick up. Brought the car back 5 times for same repair. Never fixed the "swishing noise" behind the dash.... was told that's the way Kia's were built. Brought the poor service up to the "new manager"..... was told they were sorry but nothing could be done. Honestly - I am not a complainer. We have recently just purchased a car from Jerry Rome Nissan and couldn't have had a better experience. This is the 7th car I have purchased in my life..... and I have never had such a horrible experience, never been stolen from, never been lied to like I was at LIA HONDA!

The salesman we dealt with was friendly enough but I really did not think that he knew his stuff. I don't understand how you can sell cars and not know every single thing there is to know about the cars! He gave us the wrong information about where child seats can be placed. You could tell he was just making it up as he went along. The prices he quoted us were high compared to other places. We did not negotiate at all, so I don't know how much better they might have done. We ended up purchasing from Curry in Chicopee which turned out to be a much better experience.

I am upset that there is no rating below one. I bought a car that was advertised as having cruise control, power mirrors, halogen headlights, and tinted windows. When I drove the car, I knew that it didn't have the windows, lights, or power mirrors, but I was ok with that. They admitted to me that it was sleazy advertising, but I didn't need those things. What I did want was the cruise control. It was broken, but they assured me that I could take it to any dealer closer to home (It's a four hour drive to Northampton for me), and they would fix it under warranty. When I brought it to a Honda dealership here in Maine, they told me that somebody had been gouging around under the dash with a screwdriver and that things were hanging together with duct tape. They wouldn't touch the car, so I had to bring it all the way back to this Lia dealership. After 3 weeks of trying to fix it, including telling me that they would have a new cruise control on hand to put in should they not be able to figure it out, they brought in a specialist who informed them that there had never been a cruise control in the car. It had the buttons to operate it, but there was nothing behind those buttons. When that came to light, the general sales manager, Paul Brauer, told me "I will not put another nickel into this car". So they didn't have the new unit on hand, nor did they ever intend to put one in.These people are deceptive, rude, and unethical.

We recently bought a car from this dealer. It is very hard to believe that they are an award winning dealership when they hire people who are unprofessional. I am sure there are many wonderful sales people at this dealership but we must have landed the sour grape from the lot. He claims to be a 'senior sales man' with a lot of experience. That may be, however he clearly lacks any good sales ethic and good interpersonal skills. He made us feel very pressured to buy and when we changed our minds with the model, he faulted us for doing so. In the middle of negotiations he even threw our file on the floor and lost his temper. Him being inappropriate did not end there! In my mind, there is no reason for a consumer to ever feel upset about their purchasing experience.
