I have been working with Jody and Koons Ford service since 2009 with quick honest results, but today was my first time dealing with sales and to my delight they were equal to their service department. Dez was simply the best. To start with, his knowledge of Ford products was second to none. He knew everything there was to know about the Escape. He constantly made us feel comfortable in a genuine way, even during the uncomfortable steps of financing. Speaking of finance, Andres, the financial manager, also bent over backwards to make us feel valued and important. Back to Dez, he stuck with us through the entire process, clearly understanding the magnitude of this investment to my family. All I can say is that the folks at Koons Ford truly treat you like family. I am proud to call all of them my friends and will be returning for years to come.

Long Wait, Poor Communication...No Work Done

We made an appointment to bring in our Ford Focus in to have our air conditioning fixed. This is a long saga so I'm going to summarize it as best as possible...We had to wait 3 weeks before we could get an appointment. We dropped our car off on Friday, had no updates from the service center all weekend so we called and left multiple messages on Monday - no reply. Tuesday we did the same and got in touch with a manager. They basically told us they had no idea where our car was (did they lose it??) and that they'd figure out what happened. Turns out they didn't realize our car was there and needed to be worked on. They told us they'd fast track it and give us an update. By Tuesday night, we had no updates so we stopped by the service center to speak to someone in person. We had the "pleasure" of speaking with a service attendant who walked up to us and tried to hand us keys to a replacement car for us to use for the night. He then proceeded to explain what had happened (we already know all of this) and was extremely defensive, basically telling us how he wasn't at fault. He said he never got any messages from us and that they hadn't started working on our car yet. When we tried to speak and express our frustration, he cut us off to further defend himself. Bottom line, offering us a replacement car to try and shut us up is not a solution. A solution would be to fix the car when you got it on Friday...not push it off for 5 days. A solution would be to listen to your customer's frustrations and admit that you messed up. A solution would be to communicate. Period. We took our car that night to a different service center - Admiral Tire on Forest Dr. They were fantastic. They listened to our problem, set expectations for the work to be done and gave us a timeline, and they even apologized for how we were treated at Ford. Something our service tech from Ford could not do.

I brought my car in for a simple fix. My bill was double what it should have been because of add on services that I did not ask for. I was told that my original representative would have to talk to me about my bill. 3 weeks, many phone calls and emails later, this has not been resolved. I wouldn't even give it one star, but that is the lowest rating possible.

They are the only Ford dealership in town and it shows. Their service department sucks. IF they actually pick up the phone, and IF they feel like working on your car (good luck if it's recall work because they don't make any money off that and don't want to do it), and IF you actually get your car into the shop, be sure to triple check any repairs or work they do to ensure it was actually completed.Typical dealership - Once they complete the sale, they are done with you.

If I could give zero stars I would. WHEN I CAME TO PICK UP THE CAR, THEY GOT IT INTO AN ACCIDENT. THEY HAVE CREATED MORE PROBLEMS FOR ME THAN I CAN COUNT. The GENERAL MANAGER MIKE IS A BULLY. The service department is none existent. Stay far far away from this dealership, they are deceptive. Also pay attention to everyone else's claims from reviewers who gave this place only 1 star, we all can't be wrong! THEY DEFINITELY HAVE TO BE PAYING PEOPLE TO GIVE THEM A 4 STAR REVIEW. they are padding the stats! The service department should be investigated, the car goes in for one thing, and comes out with a new problem. IGNORE THEIR FACEBOOK REVIEWS THAT ARE BEING PADDED.

On my long drive in from CT (with two teens, but hubby stayed at home) I lost a tail light/turn signal bulb. I drove into the service department a wreck, with no appointment. Within 10 minutes I was on my way out with a new lamp, INSTALLED, and they wouldn't charge me - not even for the part. I wish I could write them 100 great reviews. They saved the balance of my trip!!

My experience with Koons Ford was horrendous. Before reading my experience, know that I am a manager in the restaurant industry where things often don't go according to plan, yet the way in which you handle these situations can make the difference between a pleased customer and a customer who no longer wants to support the brand...I own a 2012 Ford Focus. There was a recall on part of the clutch assembly that was causing my vehicle to shutter. I called the service department and spoke with Mike on Monday, December 21st who said to bring it in and they would look at it. When I brought the car in on Wednesday, December 23rd they said they couldn't look at it until the following Monday and they couldn't offer a loaner car. They advised me to bring it back Monday morning. On Sunday night I dropped my vehicle off at the overnight drop. I didn't hear from them by Thursday, so I called. Mike informed me they were backed up from the holiday and short staffed, and that my vehicle would be done late Saturday afternoon or Monday morning at the very latest. I was fine with that response, I get it when things go wrong. No problem Mike.No call Saturday, no call Monday. Tuesday afternoon comes...............not a peep from anyone. I proceeded to call the service department 12 times, left 3 voicemails for Mike. My girlfriend continues to call the service department, is finally transferred to the body shop manager who has to walk to the service department to tell Mike to call me back. Get ready for the good part......On Tuesday at 4:45 pm Mike tells me that there was a death with one of the family members of the staff that works on transmissions (this is unfortunate and I feel for him) and that my car will not be done until Thursday. The work should have been done by Thursday, December 31st. MY CAR SAT ON THE LOT FOR 8 DAYS WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED!!!!!!!!! I didn't get a call saying oops, I didn't get an apology, I didn't get offered a loaner car, I didn't even get an attempt from any staff member there. I had to call for half of a day to get a response from them. Here is the kicker: Everything was supposed to be covered under warranty. When they were fixing my car, the broke my starter in the process and had to fix that also. Then when I pick my car up, there is a bill for $100 for something not covered under warranty. I have had my car back for 4 days now, and it won't start. So I have to have it towed back to Koons to have it fixed AGAIN. This place is a total joke. I suggest not even bothering with them. Go out of your way to go to another Ford Dealership.

I came in for an oil change and because of a knocking under the hood of my Explorer. I was immediately greeted by a Service person Jeffrey Carter. Once he found out the problem, he came and explained it to me with clarity and no double talk. He even followed up with me a week later to make sure I was still satisfied. I don't want to deal with anyone else but him in the future.

Horrible service department. Purchased a brand new 2016 Ford Explorer XLT. After 2 days navigation broke, loud humming from engine and wind was coming through passenger side window. Keep in mind it only had 12 miles on it when we drove it off the lot. They all lie. I was told one person was the service manager and he even introduced himself as such and then after the car wasn't fixed AGAIN the same person told me he wasn't the service manager after all. Keep in mind in their website he is listed as the service manager! Simple fix but instead of them ordering a new cowl the service manager used double sided tape to fix the part! They claim the Ford Rep told them this was the only fix! Pure BS!! PATHETIC! Haven't had the car for 7 days and it's still at the dealership. Left numerous messages for the GM. No return calls. Called Ford and filed a BBB compliant. Next I'll contact Williams & Santoni, LLP!NEVER go through the finance piece with them. We came in with approval from Tower Federal CU with an interest rate of 2.24% and they knew this. Sales person says "I'm sure we can beat that offer" so we agreed to go through their financing to avoid the hassle of going back to our CU for a check. BIG MISTAKE!!! After waiting over an 30 minutes Jason comes out and takes us in the back giving us a heavy sales pitch to buy all of these senseless warranties. The car is brand new with less than 20 miles on it. He is aware that we already have financing for 2.24% so why did he initially offer us 5.75% as if we are clowns and would take it? I should have gone with my gut and walked out. NO ONE in that entire dealership has integrity. Lesson learned is read the reviews of the dealership you decide to buy from on every single social media sight available. It is clear customer service is NOT a priority for them based on all of the horrible reviews I am reading now. Do your research because after the deal is done all those ford promises to fix what is wrong comes with nothing but LIES, LIES AND HEADACHES!

I purchased my previous car from Koons and the experience was good so I thought I would try them again. My Explorer was stating to fall apart and thus it was time. We worked with Doug Killian, Sales Manager. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable and honest. He worked diligently to provide the best offer and was very impressive with his financial fluency. The entire staff was courteous if not down right warm. I hate buying cars, hate the drama and b.s. BUT Koons made the experience wonderful. Koons understands the value of a lifetime client, not just the one timer.I highly recommend this dealership. It is a well run organization. Kudos to Koons!

I took my car in for a brake problem, and it was kept in the shop for 4 days. They called me and told me it was ready for pickup, so I drove up from DC and returned my rental, only to learn the car was not yet ready and would not be for another day. They did not apologize for this error and also did not call me to let me know the car wasn't ready after saying it would be. Then they attempted to charge me $100 more than I had originally been quoted for over the phone. Lastly, I drove the car back to DC and heard a strange noise coming from my front left wheel. I called while the shop was still open that evening and was not called back. As of an hour after the shop opened the next day, my message still had not been returned. I took the car into a Ford dealership in VA and discovered that Koons had neglected to reassemble part of my front left brake. Dusty was fine during this process but Jody was very rude to me and did not apologize for having called me to tell me the car was ready when it was not. Dealing with Koons was an absolute nightmare and I will never be returning. I recommend the Ford dealership in Glen Burnie or Falls Church VA.

I came in to test drive and potentially purchase a new Focus. Everyone was very friendly and even offered me water after the test drive. However, things changed once I met with the sales rep, Elliot Davis. He immediately laid on the sales pitch. He started trying to manipulate me and work me over before even giving me a price. I was treated as nearly hostile throughout the whole process. The sales pitch was atrocious. The pricing was not at all transparent. I understand that a sales pitch is part of the job, but this was something else. I don't offend easily, but I left furious and insulted. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. I would stay away from the Baltimore location as well. My experience at this dealership led to my decision to buy another brand.

I brought my 2001 Ford Escape in last year for a recall and while driving there the check engine light came on. When I dropped off the car I told the service advisor Dusty Odom that the light had come on, could someone look at the car and see what was wrong and let me know what it would be to repair it. I explained to her that this was a third car so if repairs were going to be extensive I would just sell the car. It had 195000 miles and I didn't want to put a lot of money into it. I was told it only needed a new coil. So I had it fixed. The check engine light came back on about a week later so I took the car back and was told it needed another coil. (My receipts show it to be the same number coil twice) I declined the repair and the car has sat ever since. The car was due for registration renewal so I called my brother to come look at it to see if it was worth it to have it fixed and he discovered an exploded egr valve within 2 minutes of popping the hood. He told me you have clogged catalytic converters. If you had a check engine light on it was probably for a cylinder misfire. The 3.0L V6 engines have problems with the C.O.Ps (Coil On Plugs). When the spark plug doesn't fire it dumps unburnt gas into the exhaust system, eventually clogging the converters. My brother is a pilot for Southwest. What I want to know is how was he able to spot this very costly repair when their technicians who examined the car twice did not. I am very upset with this and feel I was given faulty information to get me to agree to repairs that weren't going to solve my cars problem. The car was donated to Cars for Breast Cancer. I'm out the $600 I wasted at Koons Ford. I feel this was at most innocent unintentional incompetence otherwise it's a business practice of intentional deception which other consumers might want to be aware of.

I took my truck in on May 28 with a list of warranty items that needed to be addressed. I was told at the time I didn't qualify for a rental or loaner (even though my truck was Certified). This wasn't immediately a problem because I was off work for several days and did not need a vehicle. There were 9 items I wanted them to address - rough engine idle, two different transmission issues, several squeaks and rattles throughout the cab, a broken seat, loose piece of trim, and body rust (on a 2012!). Of these items, one was fixed, and an attempt was made to fix a second problem, but the other 7 issues hadn't even been acknowledged. The few times I managed to speak with my service advisor, Kyle Gibson (I got one phone call from him during the entire two weeks they had my truck. I had to call if I wanted an update), it sounded like everything was being taken care of. I was even promised a ride along with the Service Manager when I picked up my truck to ensure that everything was repaired to my satisfaction. However, when I went in to pick up my truck, he conveniently hadn't shown up to work yet (at 9:30am), and since I had to be at my own job at 10, I couldn't wait around for him to show up, and took the truck anyway, only to find out what hadn't been done. It has been seven weeks since I first dropped off my truck, and I am supposedly still waiting for an answer about what Ford plans to do with the rust that is all over my truck. This is my third Ford vehicle, but this visit, along with my original purchase experience at Garnet Ford, has made sure that I will never buy another one. Ford is happy to sell you a vehicle, but will not stand behind their product.

I am a big fan of Ford's and my dad worked for Ford Motor Company for several years before passing away about 5 years ago. I had previously shopped at Apple Ford in Columbia. After bad service at Apple Ford, I decided to drive the extra distance to Koons Ford of Annapolis. It was well worth the drive. My sales associate was Desmond and he was very knowledgable on his vehicles and overall very easy to talk with. When we decided on a car we wanted, we also worked with Andreas (financing or sales manager?). He was also fantastic. Offered us several options for financing and the advantages/disadvantages of all the Ford offers. Every car dealership is out to make a commission, but these guys felt human and very knowledgable at their jobs. I walked away with my new car, traded in my old one and felt like I had fantastic service.

Each member of their team was not only very competent but actually dealt with me as human being rather than just another potential sale. Doug Killian, the sales manager, was responsive and willing to negotiate. Heather, sorry I can't recall her last name, was friendly, knowlegeable and gave good advice. I purchased a 2013 Ford Fiesta for my daughter; after a short time she was describing how oddly the car seemed to operate. It seemed to shift very rough when accelerating as if the car had a manual transmission as opposed to an automatic. Even passengers riding in the car would ask if the car was running right. Made an appointment at Koons Baltimore where the car was originally purchased, after the car was inspected by the mechanic there we were told " that it's just the way the car runs ". At that point we just accepted that fact. About two months later the condition seemed to getting worse to the point where the car would barely accelerate from a stop as if the brake was applied. So much that the cars behind were honking their horns because we were holding up traffic. We then contacted Koons in Annapolis to make a service appointment. We dropped the car off Friday October 18th and issued a loaner car. During the following week my daughter had to make continuous calls to check on the situation concerning the car. I would assume that updates would be made to us by the dealership and not that we would have to request them. Her experiences when contacting the service department were less than desirable as if she was making unreasonable requests. After the determination was made that the car would need a new clutch, (after my daughter called yet again) we were told that the part would be ordered and that the car "should be okay to drive" by Kyle. We dropped off the loaner car and picked up the Fiesta such as it was. My daughter made numerous calls again to check on the progress of the new clutch that was needed to repair the car, otherwise we would hear nothing from the service department. Each time she was told that the part had not arrived and they would call when it was in. On December 5th I received a call at work from my daughter, she was driving to her job and the car would not accelerate and that there was smoke coming from somewhere. I told her to call Koons Annapolis once more to let them know. At that time they dispatched a tow truck to come and pick it up, she was also told that the new clutch had not yet arrived. I drove over to pick up my daughter and met the tow truck at the dealership, at which time Kyle told us that the replacement clutch had finally arrived. He also informed us that they would not be able to issue a loaner car as the "funding pool" that was used to pay for the loaner cars was exhausted for the remainder of the year....so it was left to me to obtain transportation for my daughter so she could make it to work as well as to college. My daughter had to call the dealership the next day to find out what was being done on her car only to find out that now the part had JUST arrived and that the car should be completed by Wednesday December 11th.She was also informed that the smoke that she had experienced was caused by a rag that had been left on the engine, they made it sound to her like she was to blame for that... At this point I was not happy with recent events and decided to call Ford Company customer service. I talked to a very nice representative who noted everything and informed me that a regional manager would be calling me by close of business of the following business day. That time arrived and passed with no contact from the regional manager. I waited a day or two since it is near the holidays and called again, talked to another very polite representative who again noted everything and updated my case number and also informed me that it was unacceptable that the regional manager had not contacted me. She had also stated that she would report that person to their supervisor. After which she told me that once again the regional manager would be in contact with me by close of business the next day, that time came and went. My daughter made yet another call to the dealership on Wednesday December 11th because that is when the car was scheduled to be complete. She was then told that the mechanic that was working on her car had to rush his grandmother to the hospital. She was also told that he was the only mechanic qualified to perform the work and that the car would not be complete until Thursday or Friday. I again called the Ford Company customer service number and talked to another very nice representative who again noted all events and again informed me that the regional manager would be in contact with me by close of business that day. I did not receive a call from the regional Ford representative during that time. My daughter called the dealership on Thursday afternoon December 12th and was told the car would be done and that she could pick it up that evening. I received a voicemail from the regional Ford Representative that evening stating that the car was complete and that I could pick it up. I have been reviewing a considerable amount of documentation online regarding many cars experiencing the same issue as ours. Given this I would expect Ford and the dealership to be a little more understanding and much more prepared when it comes to handling these situations. I realize that the Fiesta is not their flagship model but for a teenager just starting out in life it is a rough lesson. I am fairly certain that there will never be any further Ford products in her future and I can say the same for myself, as for Koons Ford...your Baltimore sales department is outstanding but the service department is at best abysmal.

We have received unspeakably deficient service from the customer service department. Took the car in for brake work and a door indicator that said the driver side door was always open even when it was closed on our 2011 ford edge. Said the door problem couldn't be reproduced and the brakes were fine. Drove it off the lot and immediately called back Kyle in service to say the door problemwas still present and HHS brakes were still chugging. He asked us to bring the car back, but said it couldn't be on a weekend because the door issue is diagnostic and could only be looked at on a week day. About a month later we could finally take it in on a weekday (shocker, we work). They said the brakes needed to have the roters machined, but that the car was no longer warranty for the work. It was under warranty the first time we took it in for the same problem, and now they want 600+ to fix a problem that would have been free under warranty. They intentionally sent us packing to avoid fixing an under warranty problem. Voice mails left for the dealership manager were unreturned. We contacted Ford corporate, but the dealership isn't returning the calls from the regional customer service representative. Also, despite telling us they topped off our fluids when the car was in, we found the power steering fluid was near empty. Koons, if you wish to change this review, check with Kyle in service about the white ford edge with these issues. I am sure he is familiar and our contact information is on file.

We came to Koons to see and test drive a Lincoln sadan. Anthony V. was our salesmen and took us for a test drive. I did not like the lack of room inside the Lincoln. I am only 5 ft. and have to sit very close to the stearing wheel in order to reach the pedals which left very little wiggle room in this car. Anthony suggested the Ford Taurus would fit all the items on my wish list and would work well with my height concerns. . We took the Ford for a test drive and loved the car. The pedals ajust, the stearing column telescopes out and the power seat adjust in half a dozen different directions. This was the first car I have ever driven in my life that I could reach the petals with my entire foot not just my toes. It was also the first car I could sit back in my seat and still reach dash controls. We would never have considered the Ford if Anthony had not shown us how well it fit our needs. I also requested the car have leather, navigation, heated seats, sunroof and auto start.Anthony gave us all that and more in the Ford. Personable and knowledgeable salesmen,we will be back.

EDIT- After posting this review and several others, Koons Ford Annapolis refunded my money but never admitted that they gave me a bad diagnosis. The truck in question still is running fine. They asked me to remove this review. I won't because I think it is still an accurate portrayal of the service I received but in all fairness after a few weeks of pestering them they did refund my money. Would you be upset if someone tried to sell you a new engine on a car that didn't need one? A day later, the truck was fixed for around $200. And now Koons won't refund any of the money I paid to have it towed to another shop or for the misdiagnosis ($178) , nor will they admit the truck doesn't need a new engine, even though it's been running fine ever since. Share this and spread the word. oh yeah, and don't buy anything from Koons.

Before I moved to Annapolis, I always had service on my vehicle performed by the local dealership in their in-house oil/tire center and what not; thus, in Annapolis, I naturally sought out Koons to perform similar work on my car. I was not impressed. Here's the list of things I noticed. - There were a lot of workers standing around and chatting inside of the drop-off area. Now, they may have been on break, but none of them seemed to care that I had driven my car in. - The head service guy there that day came off as a "used car salesman" type, trying to rush me through things. He took my keys and sent me to the waiting area. - The waiting area was very disappointing. Compared to other dealers, this one was a dump. - The service took three times longer than what the head service guy told me it would. - After the oil change and tire rotation was done, the head guy came to me with a list of things that his mechanics noted needed attention. I am not conversant on car parts and equipment, and he tried to get me to have most of these taken care of in this visit without explaining what any of it was. I denied it and had a mechanic friend and a separate service center look at my car, both of whom said that Koons was trying to get me to schedule some unnecessary work. - My car is white, and there were smudges from dirty workers' hands all over the front of my car when completed. My impression of Koons Ford is that it is the service center you hear the commercials criticizing where they find/make things to work on with your vehicle just to make a quick buck. I will not return.

Noticed that there was a 2002 Cadillac Deville DHS so called the dealer and inquiredabout the availability and the price of the car. I was informed by Bruce, one of the sales rep that after checkingwith the manager was priced at $6900(which for this vehicle is almost $1700 more than the KBB value for this vehicle in excellent condition). Anyway, I told Bruce that I would either try and come pass the lot on my lunch break or after work. When I arrived at the dealership I asked for Bruce, reminded him that I had called earlier about the Caddillac and that I was there to look at the vehicle. He told me to wait and in the process walked over to I guess was one of the other reps/manager's office and inquired about the car. He (Bruce) came back to me and said that the manager was going to take the car home and see if his wife wanted the car and if so he was going to buy it. This was really irritating because:1. You could have provided me this information when I first called, thereby eliminating an unnecessary trip and complete waste of my time.2. Being a customer service rep, and seeing that there was a potential buying customer onsite, I have would given the customer the opportunity to purchase the car first. (Since I work in Services, my customers always come first. I WOULD NOT have told a potential customer that an employee/employee's wife IS THINKING about buying the vehicle. I thought this was very unprofessional. You won't have to worry about me purchasing a vehicle from this dealership.

I'll give them a 4 rating overall because everything turned out to be relatively easy. I made sure that the salesperson understood immediately that I knew what I was doing and was not interested in "playing the game." I've done my homework so show me the car, quote me a price and let's see if we can make a deal. They tried a few of the usual tricks, like the four square deal presentation...stop them immediately and make them present it to you the way you want to see it. The price we agree was fair; the financing process was easy, there were no hidden or deceptive charges, and the car was ready when promised. Our sales person was very pleasant and respectful.

Car was brought in on August 2nd with a locked up engine. I was told the car needed a new engine. Today is November 18th, and the car is still not done. Phone calls are not returned. When I do get someone on the line (they screen calls with Caller ID), I am told outright lies. The first round of delays was not entirely Koons' fault. The warranty company dragged its feet getting the car diagnosed. After that was done (about 3 weeks), I had to wait 3 more weeks for a new engine to arrive. Once the new engine came in, it took about 12 days to get the old engine out. When I asked, "Why didn't you guys pull the old engine out while waiting for the new one to arrive?" I was told that's not how it's done. So, it took about 2 weeks to get the new engine in. After that, they determined that the engine was making a funny noise. "One of our service guys will take it for a road test," I was told. That took 2 days. "It's still making a noise, I'll take it for a test personally." Their "road test" involves taking my car home for the night. So each "test" takes a day or two. The first guy "didn't live far enough away" for an accurate test. The second guy did. When I asked if there was any way to conduct these test other than taking my car home for the night, I was told "No, that was just wasn't possible." So, they decided that the brand new engine was faulty. A new one needed to be ordered. Three more weeks. We're about 2 and a half months into this ordeal.A new engine arrives. I'm told it will take a week and a half to install. Meanwhile, I watched my neighbor drop a new engine in his truck over a weekend with an engine lift, hand tools and a six pack.A week and a half goes by. Still no car. My calls are avoided. When I ask for someone in particular, they are magically "in a meeting about my car at this very minute...they'll call you RIGHT BACK." They don't.Because this ordeal was dragging so far along, I asked about the possibility of a loaner car. It took 24 days to get a response to that question. The response was "no" ... but why 3 weeks for an answer, despite that I called to ask about it several times per week? Not sure. I was given many different answers, not sure which one is has the lessor amount of lies. They tell me the car will be ready this Saturday... Or maybe Monday, just shy of my 4-month anniversary with Koons Ford of Annapolis. "Why didn't it take a week or so to put the new engine in?" I asked. "Well, that part of our service department was really busy this month. He's but in 3 or 4 new engines this week." "WAITAMINUTE!" I replied. "You put in 3 or 4 engines ahead of mine ... a car that has been in your shop for nearly FOUR MONTHS?!?!" "Well, they did those cuz they had all the parts...." was the weak answer."What parts were missing from my repair job?""..."That's the kind of stalling lies I've been getting. The car broke down at the end of July.... It is Thanksgiving next week. Think about that before you try the service department at Koons Ford of Annapolis on Riva Road.

I took my 2005 Mustang GT to have body work done at Koons Ford's Body shop. My car has been worked on 4 times now and it still has not been done right. First there was a hazy residue underneath the clear coat. Very noticeable throughout the whole side that was worked on. Bob the manager said he never saw this before in his 30 plus years. They tried to cheat and buff it out with no avail. So, they tried to fix it by removing the clear coat and re-clear coating it. It looked ok when I first picked it up after they re-clear coated it. Two days later somebody or something chipped a small piece of paint off on the driver's side (this side that was worked on) door in a parking lot. While looking at the damage my wife and I noticed that a large paint chip came off the bottom corner of the door all the way down to the primer. Looking a the chipped area I noticed the paint had a rough texture running the bottom of the door approximately one inch high. This was only on the door not the fender, quarter panel or rocker panel. I took the car back and Bob the shop manager could not give me an explanation again. He put touch up paint on the chipped area and said come back in a few weeks. I came back after a few weeks. I had to wait for Bob to finish a conversation about politics for 10 minutes or so before he cam and saw me. He said he was going to sand the whole door down and re-paint it. After the car was done, I picked it up and noticed that they painted over the small pain chip from the parking lot. I found that disrespectful after they have messed up several time now. He did say he was going to sand the whole door down which would of course include the small paint chip. But, technically they are not liable to sand that chip out. So, I let it go. Looking over the car later at my house I noticed small bumps on the door about the size of a small grain of sand. There was only a few so I did not care. However, a few weeks later these small bumps/bubbles showed up all over the door. So, I spoke with the Manager Joe Koons about my car and got it in to be worked on again. Hoping that Bob's manager Joe would motivate him to do the job right. But, no luck with this. The door has sanding marks in it. Smudge marks in it, pin holes, some bumps/bubbles, and you can see where the bumps where removed and not sanded out smooth. Bob said he had Dupont out and that the bumps/bubbles where from wax being applied prematurely. He claims that the wax sealed the paint. For one thing I did not wax the side that was worked on and a clear coat seals the paint anyways. Now, I have to fight them for a refund because the clearly cant do the job right.

Beata Brodal Johnson is the bomb. I had my car stolen on 6/18 and totalled 6/21. I needed a car and was interested in either a Fiesta or Focus. I contacted Beata on or about Saturday, 6/25th. I decided on a Focus but really wanted a 2012 Focus Se Hatchback Glass Crystal Metallic color (a color not easy to find) and I needed to keep the price down. I met Beata today 7/5 and I will pick up my 2012 Focus SE Hatchback Glass Crystal and my monthly payment (which includes maintenance and extended warranty) on Friday. What a wonderful experience and I know it was to the hard work of Beata and Koons Ford Annapolis that my life is a little brighter because Beata cared, understood and made it happen. Thank you, Beata--all my friends, co-workers, family members and neighbors will know -- check out KoonsFord Annapolis and ask for Beata.

I traded in my 2005 Jeep Liberty for a 2008 Ford Escape in April 2011. My boyfriend who helped me with the purchase called the dealership prior to our drive up to Annapolis to see if the vehicle we had seen online was still available (you never know!) and luckily it was. Beata answered the phone call and was very informative about the vehicle, we let her know we would be there by 12pm. When we got to the dealership, a salesman approached us and greeted us right away. We asked for Beata since she had previously helped us over the phone and the gentleman let her know we had arrived. Even though she was already working with a customer, she came out, greeted us and said she would be right with us. We probably waited about 10 minutes before Beata came back with the key for the vehicle we were interested in and apologized for the delay. She set us up with the vehicle for a test drive while she finished up with the customer she was with. After driving the Escape for about 10 minutes, I LOVED IT! I was really looking forward to making the purchase but was worried about the financials. Beata has just finished up with the previous customer when we got back, so we were able to sit down and talk about the purchase. Beata was very helpful during the negoiations for the purchase, I was able to spend less than I anticipated spending and she even had the finance department look for a better loan than the one I had already qualified for. During the whole process of this vehicle purchase, everyone I encountered at the dealership was extremely and helpful. Beata and Heather in the finance department were amazing during the process. I will definitely keep this dealership in mind for any future purchases.

I wouldn't normally rate a dealership but I also normally don't come out of one feeling that I go the best deal. My salesman, Ron Bergsmith, was great. I recently bought a Ford Edge and I was on the fence about what car/SUV I really wanted. He helped me navigate through the different options until I was confident which one I wanted. He was very patient, let me test drive a few cars and clearly explain the advantages to each one. I am very happy with the choice I made, the dealership and of course my salesman, Ron Bergsmith. I would recommend this dealership to anyone!

Our family is looking for a new vehicle. At the same time, we cannot decide if we want to sell our current vehicle ourselves or trade it in with the purchase of a new car. I put in an online inquiry and I had immediate emails and phone calls from Mr. Lewis. At this point the customer service was great. Mr. Lewis persuaded me to go into the dealership and have one of HIS appraiser's take a look at our car so that way I had all the information I needed to move forward with our purchase. I stopped by the dealership and I was met by a sales associate who did try his hardest to entertain me while I was there for about an hour or so. He showed me a few models that we were interested in while his manager took a look at our current vehicle. Mr. Lewis was nowhere to be seen. When we returned from our walk around the lot, I waited at a table for about 10 minutes by myself, only for the sales associate to return and tell me that they weren't able to give me a number on the trade unless I wanted to wait around for another hour or so he wanted me to commit to come back on another day when we could wrap everything up. I told them I was not going to commit to anything until I had the information I was promised. I left the dealership and immediately call Mr. Lewis. He acted very surprised in what had happened and sounded sincere that he was going to get to the bottom of it and give me a call back by the end of the afternoon. It's been a week and I have called multiple times as well as emailed 3 times and I have yet to hear ANY response from Mr. Lewis, Internet Sales Manager. I have been followed up by the sales associate, but I feel that this is above his head. He did refer me to one of his managers and when I spoke with him, he told me that he did not want to give me a number so I could go shop it against them. So basically, they didn't want to work with me unless I committed to working with them. I feel like dealing with Koons Ford was a complete waste of time and if we are to purchase a Ford in the future, it will not be from them.

My happy experience with Koons Annapolis is definitely thanks to Mr. Steve Thrower; he provided the perfect combination of laid back attitude and snappy attentiveness. Steve furnished speedy service, helpful attention without pressure, was knowledgeable enough about the product to quickly answer any questions I had and was savvy enough about the purchase process to make sure I got what I wanted when possible, right away. Additionally, with sharp and wiley attention, Steve figured out what I really wanted, made it available for my final test drive and let the car sell itself. Extra respect for craftiness. Finally, Steve gets bonus points for orchestrating the entire sale from start to finish. Rather than walking away once the sale was made, he made sure the 'finance guys' knew exactly the deal we had decided upon, which options I wished to purchase and which options I didn't and he made sure they knew that I was trying to wrap up the purchase quickly before getting to work on a Monday morning. The car was programmed with my cell phone before I finished signing the contracts and the arrangements were made for me to get my new baby home when I was ready to go.A+: a perfect sales experience for a hard-to-please, but no-fuss gal like me.

We told the salesman we were just looking and this was our first dealership. We said we were interested in a Fusion and were shown a white one, we were interested in red. None on the lot. Salesman said he would check and found one we could get in 1 1/2 weeks and "if we did not like it we could refuse." He then told us that he would need to switch the plates on our trade in car to dealer tags. I was not comfortable and asked why, he said "technically the car belongs to Koons". How can that be when we had never agreed to buy a car from them and we would be 1 1/2 weeks before we could take possession of the new one. He said he would have to check and when he came back he said OK we could leave our tags on. Next we were taken to the accounting office for what I thought was just to find out what our payments would be. the next thing I know we are signing papers (our mistake). When a week later we got a great deal at Preston Ford (saving $6400 for the same car)we called the salesman and said we had already purchased a car to cancel the one he was ordering. Thinking this was the end I was surprised when yesterday I received a payment coupon from Ford Credit for a car we have never even seen. This company has some very deceptive business practices and I am very glad that we did not purchase our vehicle from them.

I went looking for a 2010 F150. I just came off a terrible experience with Darcars and was in no mood to play games. I had heard not too good things about Koons Annapolis, but I must say I was very happy when I left. The whole experience was straight-up. I had to work a little harder for a better trade-in, but I expect that. The only bad issue was some other salespersons arguing with each other, using pretty colorful language. If my wife had been with me, I would have left. My salesman was not present when that happened, but apologized profusely when I told him. I had my own financing, so no issues there. I did a lot of research before I went shopping.6 months later and I am completely happy with my truck, and my experience there. I will return there this spring and give them first shot at selling me an Edge.

You ever go someplace and it's like they are doing you a favor by taking your money? That's how I felt with my dealings with this car dealership. I went to look for a used car, preferably a Focus because i didn't have a whole lot of money and I wanted something that would be inexpensive but reliable. I looked around the lot and I will give them credit on this - someone came up to me in a short time and asked me what I was looking for. That's where the good service ended. I told him I didn't want to spend more than $8,000 which may not be a lot to him but it is to me because I am a student. He proceeded to show me cars that were in the $15,000 range and I told him that was twice as much as I wanted to spend. He said "don't worry, you can finance a better car. All you have to do is go longer in the term of the loan". I told him that wasn't the point and he said and I'm not kidding "What's your point then. Do you want to buy a cheap car or a good car?" I told him that I thought his approach was terrible and that I was going to leave. He then said for me to wait and that he would show me cars in the price range I was looking for. At that point I said that I want a good and inexpensive car and apparently they dont have that based on what he said before. I drove to Columbia and visited Apple Ford and got what I wanted and felt like a Queen the way I was treated by them. All I can say is that maybe I just got a bad salesmen or whatever but based on what I have read on here, it seems I am not alone with my bad experience.

Great experience purchasing a vehicle for my daughter. We found an Escape Hybrid on their website and called in to inquire about the availability. I spoke with Mr. John and scheduled an appointment to test drive. He was a pleasure to work with and was very knowledgeable about the vehicle, even more so than me, and I'd been researching the vehicle for many months. Everything about the purchase was easier than I had thought it would be. Mr. John was great, as was the young lady Mrs. Heather who prepared my paperwork. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle.

Young salesman I thought I could trust, and his finance guy, snuck in a $2700 extended warranty with the clear implication that they were giving it to me without charging for it. My fault? Yes, because I looked at the paperwork but didn't really pay attention to the loan amount while I chatted away with the business manager and signed on the dotted lines. I'm going to leave out a lot of the details leading up to the deal because it would take too long to explain, but here is the bottom line: when a salesman comes to you with a monthly payment scrawled on a plain piece of paper, ask right then and there to see the loan amount and what's included in it. The business manager here is very nice and very detailed and you don't want to get into a personal conversation and forget to look at your loan amount before you sign the paperwork. My bad.

Don't waste your time. I called Koon's of Annapolis to confirm the price on a used Honda Accord listed on Cars.com. I asked Bruce Otto if any other fees applied in addition to tax, title and license. He said that the Maryland State Inspection (MSI) had not been performed and that the fee would not apply since I live in Virginia. I arranged an appointment to test drive the car. When I arrived Bruce said that he would pull the car around. I waited 10 minutes and then saw him waving me over to the service center. He told me that his management required a MSI and lead me to one of the bays. To my suprise the car was up on the lift with one wheel off and a service technician busily working under the car. As we left the sevice center, Bruce said that a tire needed to be replaced. After some additional discussion, he said the MSI would be $275. Bruce should have been up front about all costs when I called him. The car should have been ready for a test drive when I arrived. I told him that under the circumstances that I could not trust him and that I would not do business with someone I could not trust. I departed as he yelled my name across the dealerhip lot looking to "make a deal." If you are expecting honesty from your car dealer, please look elsewhere.

The reason I have given this dealership such a high rating is...... Let me start from the beginning. I had been looking for a used vehicle , either an SUV or a sedan, for almost six months. Because this was my first car buying experience, I did my research, my comparison - both car vs. car, car vs SUV, year model comparison, and price comparison. I went to a free car buying seminar here at Johns Hopkins Hospital, which they offer to employees and EVERYONE ELSE, where they teach you the in's and out's of the car buying experience, the "tricks". They also teach you about financing, GAP Insurance and everything else that is tied in to buying either a new or used vehicle. So with that knowledge, I started looking profusely. In the very beginning of my search, I really liked the Ford Fusion. So with that in mind, this is what I had finally decided was the right vehicle for me. I started looking online, driving by dealerships, even looking in the Auto-Trader. Then by mistake, while I was calling to inquire about another Fusion, I stumbled across the very attentive ear of Gary Stock -Koons Ford Annapolis- (Preowned Vehicles). Unfortunately, the car I was inquiring about had been sold, but he did tell me there were other Fusions on the lot. I made it very clear that I was not buying anything then. I only wanted to look, and to not pull any of that car salesman "stuff" on me. When I got to the dealership, I was greeted by someone in the lobby, and he had Gary paged for me. Gary was very nice. Very professional. Very patient - because let me tell you- I am a southern born and bred woman, I am not of the easiest to persuade. Then I found the car that was the right price and the most practical!! Gary walked me through the entire process. I did my financing somewhere else besides Koons, but he did get me the best price for my trade in, (my stubborness helped with this). And the other staff were very nice and somewhat professional, they were not pushy and I never once heard profanity come out of any of their mouths and in spite of what the other reviews have said of this dealership, I was 100% satisfied with my experience. I love my new 2009 Ford Fusion SE. It's a beautiful, affordable, practical, comfortable vehichle. This is my advice to either the 1st car buyer, the veteran car buyer, and everyone else in between - DO YOUR RESEARCH! KNOW WHAT YOU WANT! DON'T ALLOW TO BE PUSHED AROUND - YOU DO THE PUSHING (but nicely) DON'T BE AFRAID TO WALK AWAY! Also, GO SEE THE KOONS FORD OF ANNAPOLIS FAMILY, ASK FOR GARY STOCK, THEY WILL TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF YOU!!!

I went to Koons Ford because they had a good selection and I found a vehicle and was quoted an internet price. When I arrived about halfway through the process I was informed that the Internet price that I had been quoted included every rebate that Ford could offer. In other words I would have to be a full time student, a member of the Quarterhorse association and currently on active duty in Iraq to name a few....all at the same time mind you. I was then handed a piece of paper with three different offers for monthly payments all of which were ridiculos. Nothing was broken down, such as what am I paying for the new vehicle, what are they paying me for trade on my vehicle. I was just supposed to agree and be on my way apparently, no interaction from the sales manager who was too busy practicing his golf swing in full view of all the customers. The entire staff was very unprofessional and they seemed more interested in arguing over who was best at what, it was more like the boys at the corner pub no professional work ethic whatsoever. I wish that I would have looked up reviews online for this dealership I most certainly would have gone elsewhere. It's truly a shame because I do believe that Ford is putting out an amazing product only to be represented by these clowns.

I wanted a used subcompact. From Cars.com, I saw that Koons had a couple Toyota Yarises on the lot and a few others. I wanted to test drive. No one approached me. No one helped me. I finally asked someone and he told me the Yaris was being driven right then. He was not interested in telling me about other cars and didn't seem to know what they had and how much they were. It was a very unusual experience. I had visited several used car lots in Annapolis before coming there and this was just weird. So me, my wife, and son just left, after driving out to try out a car. Weird.

After i asked him to stop yelling at me, his voice got even louder and kicked me out of the office while saying the F-word. I have received horrible services and i will make sure his management will hear of it.

I went to buy a Volvo XC 70 in 2009. They advertised the price of the car at $16,900. Bruce was a jerk from the moment I got there. He was loud and obnoxious. We went to sit down and he immediately tacked on 2,000 to the advertised sale price. He said that Volvo required him to spend $1500 in order to sell the car. What he ultimately was doing was violating The other dealers franchise agreements. All they care about is the deal, or how they want to make the deal. A second employee told me it was the inspection. The general manager is rude and obnoxious also. If you go there to buy a car make sure you bring a lot of toilet paper, so the salesman can wipe his mouth when he speaks. Avoid at all costs. They try to pass themselves off as a high end car dealer, but are a bunch of sleazebags.

After reading the review of the girl who said Koons said she had to pay for the maryland inspection, I had to post because they told me the same thing. I was told that on top of the vehicle price that I had to pay Maryland inspection even though the inspection was already done. When I asked how much the inspection costs, I was told he doesn't know as every car is different, and that the inspection price would include anything they fixed/added such as new tires. Even though I don't know much about cars, this just did not seem right and not one other dealership I talked to said they had ever heard of that. It was also very difficult to actually find out the price of a vehicle as everytime I asked, I was told "I don't know, there's too many vehicles here for me to remember", and didn't even make a a real effort to find out. Even within 5 minutes of being at the dealership, all I did was say oh that looks nice (before I was told the price) and was told "well lets go inside and get the paperwork ready". And I responded "Well, can I at least know the price" and was told "I already told you, I can't remember all the prices of these cars" I will say that with them not "negotiating" or even budging a cent on their price, I was a bit floored at first, but I later did read on the internet that the internet price you see for a lot of dealerships is basically almost the bottomline price. It was also very frustrating looking at their website because vehicles that had been sold at least 3 weeks earlier were still showing on their site whereas some of the new ones were not. The website would list 40 vehicles available, when they only had maybe 8. And just to note, when I mentioned to a couple of my friends from the Annapolis area that I was looking at Koons used, they told me that it was not a good choice due to stories their friends/families had, so needless to say, I never went back.

WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I was looking to purchase a passenger van from this dealership after I saw it on autotrader. After arriving and waiting in the used car building for 10-15 minutes for someone to show me the vehicle, I had to ask someone to page a salesperson for me, despite having 5 different salespeople walk in front of me without asking if I needed help. After another 10 minutes, a guy named Bruce Otto approached and asks what I was interested in. After telling him, he gave me the keys to the van and told me to get it! What kind of treatment is that? Of course I said no and told him to get it for me, I'm not the valet. After filling the credit sheet and test driving, I went over to a desk to wait, while Bruce walked off for 15 minutes to do god knows what. After that, I became fed up and walked over to ask to do the deal, and he assumed that I was going to pay sticker and there was no room for negotiation! What is this, a Carmax wannabe? Needless to say, I just walked out right there since he obviously didn't care to sell it to me. The worst car buying experience EVER. AVOID KOONS FORD OF ANNAPOLIS AND ESPECIALLY BRUCE OTTO AT ALL COSTS.

Horrible! Avoid at all costs! I was seriously considering purchasing a used car from this dealership. The sticker price was marked at around 8K and they absolutely refused to negotiate the sticker price, even down only several hundred dollars. I am a young recent college graduate (and female), so I suppose that they figured they could take advantage of me. Well, I really liked the car, so I was still foolishly considering the possibility of paying the 8k sticker price for the vehicle. As soon as I started reviewing the paper work back in the office, I noticed an additional $800 tacked on to the sticker price! Shocked, I asked if this was the tax and title. No....it wasn't! Guess what these sleaze balls tried to tell me? That that was merely the cost of the MD State Inspection! After tax and title, I was faced with a bill over 10K! Needless to say, I walked out. I may not know a lot about cars, but I do know that a MD State Inspection has never cost me more than $150 in the past (and that most used car dealerships include this in their sticker price). Absolutely unbelievable (and CRIMINAL!) that they thought I would buy that! I don't trust this dealer and will NEVER, EVER associate with any Koons branch again after this experience!

I took my 2007 Ford 500 to the service department on 11-15-08 and asked for an oil change and a tire rotation. The service representative, Mr. John Tripodi, wrote the service order for an A Service, explaining, we call this an A Service, we change the oil, rotate the tires, and check a few other things. I signed the service order and waited for my car to be serviced. When the service was completed, the cashier presented me with a bill in the amount of $193.06. I inquired about what I believed was a lot to pay for an oil change and a tire rotation, which typically cost me about $50.00 at Koons Ford for previous oil changes, and she summoned Mr. Tripodi to explain the charges to me. His response was, we discussed this in the service area, your car has 40,000 miles on it, you ordered the A Service. What I thought I ordered was an oil change and a tire rotation.

IF YOU READ THIS YOU WILL BE SHOCKED!!!!!! I recommend that anyone who is thinking of buying from Koons Ford should run the other direction. I had the worst dealings with the sales people the main one being a man named Bruce. I contacted the dealership to buy a 2005 Excursion. When I call the talked with Bruce about a trade deal he told me that he would love to trade and he gave me a price for my car over the phone and then said the price for his Excursion was 25,500. Knowing the price was to good to be true I asked him againare you sure yours is 25,500. He stated yes that is the price. So thinking I was getting a great deal I decided to go buy an Excursion. So I dropped what I was doing because Bruce said he could not hold the car for anytime it was whoever came first. So I leave work cancel me Birthday party and get in the car and drive 300 mile to go get the Excursion. Now before I left to make the 6 hour trip I call and confirmed the price 2 other times. That makes a total of 4 calls confirming the price. So after driving 3 and a half hours I get a call from Bruce saying he made a huge mistake and told me the wrong price. The correct price was 32,000. So being over half way to the dealership I decide well I will go ahead and go anyway in hopes of working a deal. When I arrive I let Bruce and the sale manager know that I was unhappy that I rode 6 hours to be told they made a mistake and to top it off they both have attitudes. So then Bruce tells me he was wrong again the price is 34,500. So in the end the deal did not go through and I wasted 12 hours of my time and waste alot of gas money to get there. So the whole price changing tactic was thinking if I drive 300 miles I want leave without the Excursion. Boy were they wrong. I left by saying I was not pleased with there service and I would not recommend them to anyone. There reply was ok thanks.

So far, I've bought two new vehicles that could have been Ford products in the past 5 years. And I spend an average of $2,000 on service for my vehicles per year with a private mechanic, since Koons Ford's service department is so poorly motivated.

Considering all the money spent on attracting new customers, it just makes sense that they would try to keep the customers they already have. Not so, and it's sad, since I love my Ranger.

We were satisfied with Koons at first until we realized that they neglected to tell us an important detail about our loan. We paid off $26,000 of a $26,400 and some change loan. We carried out the remaining $400 + thinking that our interest was accruing on that 400 or so dollars. Our billing statements indicated that our "next payment" was due two and a half years out since we paid so much on the original loan. The statements did not show that the interest accruing was based on the original loan amount. When I went to pay off what I thought was going to close to $500.00 I realized that I owed more than $1,200.00. I tried to settle this with the Toyota financing center, but they said to go through Koons since it was the dealer's fault. I tried to get some, if not all, of my money back but they ignored me. I went the Maryland Attorney General's Office, but Koons still ignored me. Therefore, I would not recommend Koons to my worst enemy!

The service dept is non-responsive to customers. They don't call when they say they will, they don't finish work on time, they refuse to provide loaner vehicles even when it's their fault the car has to be kept over, and several times we had to take our car back because the service they performed wasn't done correctly. They're usually very nice and apologetic, but that doesn't get the job done on time, or correctly. We bought our Explorer here and when it's time for another car we'll go elsewhere.
