Awesome Purchasing Experience

This was the first time we have purchased a vehicle from Thornton Chevrolet and it was an awesome experience. Our sales person Benji Dockery made the experience easy and we will definitely be back.

Great Customer Service

I had scheduled an appointment for three non-safety recall items, plus the regular scheduled maintenance (oil change and tire rotation) and a "service wash" for my Silverado knowing that the work would take several hours to complete. I stayed at the dealership but was offered transportation as well as a loaner vehicle, though I didn't need to be anywhere else. When the work ran a little longer than originally estimated, my service advisor kept me informed as to its progress as well as the reason for the delay. As a complete surprise, the staff even brought me food from a nearby restaurant as we ran through the lunch hour (this was completely unexpected, but shows the length the Service Dept. will go for a customer). Everything was in order when the work was finished shortly after lunch, and I expect to be all set until the truck needs its next oil change.

Great atmosphere and work. Always reliable. I've been going to this dealership since I bought my 2013 spark. they always offer great deals and work repairs. They will always let you know if any recalls are available for your vehicle and offer to get those done while you wait. Awesome place

Very loyal customer

I began my customer/car dealer relationship with Thornton Chevrolet in October, 1987. I had gotten ripped off by another Chevrolet dealer in the West Georgia area and had called Thornton's to see if they wanted my business. I was able to speak to John Thornton himself as he took my call when the dealer gave me his home phone number. I asked if whether or not he wanted my business. I then told him exactly what I expected out of businesses with whom I engage. He assured me then that he operates is no other than an absolute honest manner that ALWAYS places the needs of the customer FIRST. Because Thornton Chevrolet has operated exactly as John had promised, I have NEVER even had to consider taking care of my automotive needs anywhere else. Since 1987, I've purchased ALL my vehicles from Thornton's, (6), and I've had ALL my service work performed there. AND I'M VERY PICKY ABOUT WHO WORKS ON MY VEHICLES. In the past, I've bought a vehicle for my wife from Thornton's while I was driving down I-94 in Michigan while I was working as an over the road truck driver. Her car had suffered a serious transmission problem. John called me on the phone and offered to do the trade without consideration of the amount of money needed to replace the transmission. So, for anyone reading this review, do you REALLY need to wonder WHY I'm a very loyal customer of this business for over 27 years? You will find NO better car dealer of any manufacturer anywhere. Have confidence because there is no doubt they will treat you the very same way that they have treated me, because they treated me this way from the beginning and have never changed.

Awesome dealership!!!

Before I purchased my car from John Thornton I actually went to another dealership. The other dealership was very unprofessional. the rep that was helping me knew very little information about the car i wanted. The biggest problem was the price point changed from what we agreed on when I came back a few days later and would not go back to what we agreed on. Thank god I walked away and went to John Thornton because with Thornton they were very straight forward no hidden fees, they didnt try to make a profit on the backend, and I felt like they treated me like family not another sale. Definitely would recommend going to John Thornton before anyone else

Recall repair work

Brought the HHR Tuesday after 4:oopm for Wednesday recall of ignition switch. Was called the same evening with the work completed. This really made things easier for me, as I didn't have to arrange a ride to Thornton on Wednesday. Thanks for the prompt service repair.

Scheduled Service

My vehicle was scheduled for service recently for the recalls, and my vehicle was dropped off about 8 am and it was not finished at 3pm. Call to check on vehicle no answer at the service department. When asked what took so long no one knows anything.

Always The Best

I stopped by after my GPS got stuck on my way home from work. Brad is who I usually work with in the service department. It was almost closing time, so he made arrangements for me to drop it by in the morning to have it looked at. I did just that, and he was very helpful. Car was ready by noon, and they gave me a car to drive so I could go on to work while they looked at mine. Great Service as always!!

Hassle-free service

Every one was very nice to deal with and kept me informed about what was going on with my car. The man at the Thornton reception desk made sure I was taken care of and arranged for rental car company to pick me up, told me what to expect at the rental agency and assured me Chevrolet would pay for rental while recall work was done. Could have been a bit quicker. 3 hours on a Monday morning a bit much for an oil change. But otherwise good.

Another great experience

As usual, my experience was top notch. I called Jarod a day earlier and told him i'd be coming in for my scheduled service. I was met with a smile and a handshake from Jarod and Chris in the service department and from Billy on the showroom. I was taking my truck in because of a strong smell of fumes in the truck when idling for any short period of time. There was also an unusual leak that Jarod and/or the mechanics noticed and Jarond seemed very concerned with, so I was given a loaner and my truck was kept overnight so that the head mechanic could take a look. Both the fumes (a crack in my manifold) and the leak (transmission fluid) were fixed and covered by my warranties! My only negative remark does not reflect in any way on the dealership: and that is that my seat lumbar support which already required service once before, was not covered under warranty when it broke this time. Jarod could not have been any more polite when he told me and I could hear the sincere regret in his voice. I swear, I feel like everyone at John Thornton Chevy treats me like a family member.

I purchased a truck in 2008 from John Thornton and was very pleased with that truck as well as the entire sales staff. The whole reason I came back again. They treat you like family and never pressure you into anything. My salesman Bill sends me cards during the Holidays... Great trucks and great service. I do have a friend that her dad owns Hardy Chevrolet and could have possibly gotten a better deal, but could not bring myself to change dealers. She even asked me after I purchased, why did I not call her. Keep up the good work and I will be back in another 5-6 years.

My experience at Thornton Chevrolet has always been a great experience. Bryan and all the guys in the service department have always taken care of my vehicle needs. In all the many, many years that I have been doing business at Thornton Chevrolet I have never been disappointed. Bryan has always made sure that any vehicle need I have he has gone above and beyond to see that it was taken care of. The service department at Thornton Chevrolet is the only place I take my vehicles. No one has ever even raised the hood on my vehicles, including myself!

Couldn't be happier with my experience every time we come to John Thornton Chevrolet for service or to buy a vehicle. Mark Fulton in Service helped us this last time that we had to bring our equinox in for a recall on the temperature blend door breaking and he told us before hand that he might have to keep our car overnight but he had our car back to us the same day. He also kept us updated throughout the day. Also, have to say we have been dealing with Brad in service for years now and every time we see him he is as nice as can be and is always more than willing to help us with whatever we need. It's nice to see the same people every time you come in for service because it makes you feel confident that you can trust them. We are about an hour away from the dealership and there are closer Chevrolet dealerships to us but we have been to those. None of them compare to John Thornton Chevrolet and we make sure to let people know that when friends/family are looking for service or to buy a vehicle. A dealership who stands behind what they sell you means a lot.

Great service

Steve was very helpful. I was looking to move out of my '02 Avalanche into something with better MPG but still leave me storage room for all of my firefighting equipment. Also I have a 2 month old baby and my wife is also talking about adding on. The traverse he helped guide me to works well and leaves plenty of room for gear and family expansion. Not to mention nearly doubling my gas mileage.

Why I keep coming back

It was, as always, GREAT! I was on a tight schedule and had a really bad tire. I just couldn't leave my truck and there were no loaners available. Jarod Powell was working with me and he worked it out so I could get a ride to where I needed to go while they worked on my Equinox. A+ grade as usual!

Great Service

The service team is very good. Bryon Stenke is my service advisor and he is one of the best that I have worked with. He is the reason why I keep a Chevrolet. I do wish there were other TV channels other than Fox News. It seems strange that a dealership would play the station that did not agree with the UAW and GM bailout to save jobs and the wonderful vehicles that they sell. I love the service side but it is hard for to stay in the waiting room and have Fox News shoved in my face.

I should have called first or come in earlier.

This was the second service dept. visit for "loss of power" issue with the transmission on my 2014 Impala. Shop Foreman Steve White fully investigated the issue, following up later with the factory tech rep. and followed up with me by telephone the next working day. I am satisfied that I understand the phenomenon and have not had it occur since this service visit (issue has to do with starting too quickly after coming to a complete stop under some conditions, i.e. at a stop sign on an upgrade).

Great, Above and Beyond Expectations Service

I had a road hazard tire blowout on the new Impala I'd had less than one week. I did not purchase road hazard coverage and expected to pay all of the expense; I was mainly hoping that they could find a matching tire and replace it that day. To my surprise, they were able to replace the tire later that day and gave me a loaner vehicle to get to work in, all at no cost to me - way, way beyond what I expected and could hope for.

This was the eighth new vehicle purchase I've made at John Thornton Chevrolet since 2005, all with the assistance of the same salesman, Bill Adkison. The transaction was handled efficiently, and I recieved my new registration from the county tag office in less than two weeks. Great Service, Very Clean buildings and grounds

I personally did not was not there for this visit due to my work schedule. I did have my dad carry my car there though and he had nothing but good things to say. I have been to the service dept several times before and I have always had a good experience. I especially like the layout of the service dept at John Thornton Chevrolet. Just pull up, open the sliding glass door and you're in. I think more dealerships should be setup like this.

I have to sing the praises of John Thornton Chevrolet. They absolutely took care of me and my Spark. I was extremely touched that they cared enough to call up to GM and work something out about my broken condenser. When I found out that my warranty didn't cover road damage, it sent me home feeling absolutely down trodden and I knew I wasn't going to be able to afford a new condenser on my own. I had only had my car for 5 months and going through the summer without air conditioning was going to be intense. My mother did try to make a few phone calls to see what she could do, but it was Gary who called me with the amazing news that GM was willing to cover the cost of my new condenser. It was an absolute miracle and blessing for me. I couldn't even hold back my tears at how thankful I was for that phone call. Things like this just don't happen anywhere you go so I have to comment on the wonderful people working at John Thornton that make this possible.

We came in looking for a late model pre-owned or new vehicle with very specific color and options. Our sales consultant was very helpful, listened to what we wanted and did not try to sale us anything we did not want. There was not a vehicle on the lot that met all our requirements, but the sales manager located nearby that did. We were offered a fair value for our trade and purchased the new vehicle we wanted. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and easy to deal with. They listened to what we wanted and did not push us toward anything we did not want. All-in-all, it was the best experience we have had buying a new vehicle.

Great purchase experience

After have done sales for years and appreciating how to cultivate relationships, I will be looking to do business with our salesman John on my next purchase. After explaining what I thought my credit situation might be he took the time to get a plan together on how to find the right truck for me instead of just trying to throw me in a vehicle and hope for the best.

Worst dealer!

Dishonest dealership! They tried to cheat me out of my deposit and lied about the mileage on a new car. I would never trust them!!!

Satisfying the Customer

I arrived at 8:30 Saturday morning, without an appointment, needing an oil change and tire rotation. My service advisor worked me in, with my understanding that they were busy and it would take a while - his estimate was 3 hours (and I was OK with that, just glad I could get it done). The members of the service department were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. I made an appointment online. A technician called to verify the appointment. When I arrived at the agreed upon time, they immediately took my car and serviced it in a timely manner. They even completed a recall service that I had forgotten about. Great Service

Last week my son was in a terrible accident in his Chevy Cobalt which Jimmy Dekasta sold us in 2008. The car saved his life. I was happy to be buying a new car and not a casket. Jimmy was so helpful. I think this is my 4th car I have bought from him. He is kind, factual, truthful, and knowledgeable on all cars. He made the sale very pleasant for myself and my son. My son love's his Chevy Sonic Sedan. I really appreciate Jimmy for the care he provided to my family. The finance department was also very helpful.

I have my corvette serviced at Thorton Chevrolet after previously have my vette serviced at dealer closer to my home. I knew I wanted a truck, and Thorton had what I wanted for a great price. The added bonus was the scheduled free 1st service.

Outstanding dealership really takes care of his customers! He is very honest and tells the problem like it is. The dealership works had not to pressure you either, they know what you have things like an extended warranty saving you money.
