I drove down from St. Louis with my Father on Saturday 11/26/16. I was in search of a low mileage pre-owned F150. May Dad had purchased a new 2013 F150 from Doug & Marc in 2013 & highly recommended that I check them out. We worked out a great deal on a 2012 F150 with low mileage & the Ford 4/48k extended warranty. My Dad ended up buying a New 2016 King Ranch while he was there. Again, they worked out a great deal for him as well. I think I'm getting old, as I am most excited by the bumper-to-bumper warranty! I am a very satisfied customer.-Matt K.

I was doing a little car shopping online and saw a vehicle that I might be interested in. I was contacted by Lou Ann Montague. She was so friendly and helpful, she answered all my questions and set me up an appointment for the next day. She had the car washed and ready for a test drive when I arrived at the lot on Vandiver. I was able to purchase the vehicle within my price range. I was treated with respect and felt like I was talking to an old friend. I also have to give a shout out to the manager JJ for being so nice. I purchased the car but had a problem driving two vehicles back to Jefferson City. No problem, phone calls were made and my vehicle made it back to Jefferson City before I did. I have never in my 35 years of buying cars had such a mess from the very first contact to the end. I have purchased cars over the phone before with absolutely no problems (even from other states!). A lot of the things that were negotiated to be done to the car prior to our signing of the loan papers were not done. These were things that our local mechanic said needed replaced to pass inspection, not just me being picky. I was told over the phone and prior to delivery that "everything" was done and it looks great. The car was delivered and, needless to say, I was surprised to see that it was not, in fact, all fixed. More shocks came after my husband crawled under the car and saw that the things that were supposed to have been replaced were not. They told me on the phone that "everything" on my list got fixed. All of it did not. I got the runaround the entire time and promised things that were not delivered. This was a hot mess. After I called them about the repairs, I was told by George Madison that they spent more money fixing the things on the list to pass inspection for what they did fix than what my mechanic was going to charge for all of the repairs but, because the rest of it passed "specs" that they did not have to replace them. That was not the agreement! Not one time did anyone call and talk to me about their decision. They just opted to not tell me and deliver the car. I will share this with my friends and family in the Columbia area that their word means nothing. My lesson learned?.....Don't sign the papers until it is fixed! Or, take your husband or mechanic with you because they take advantage of us ladies and young adults like our son who trusted them to do what they say they would do. What a HOT MESS this was...

We drove down from Mid Iowa and really didn't know what to expect after talking to Gerry Smith about a Ford 2011 F150 Platinum. But after we took the vehicle for a ride and checked it out we realized that even though is was a one owner it had not been taken care of. First off it would need new tires, and a really good cleaning inside and out. So Gerry was wiling to deal and gave us an allowance of $500. for the new tires due to them running about $1,000 for LT tires. We feel like we got a fair trade- in for our 2008 Ford 150 and we're very happy that we found our newest vehicle. We would highly recommend the dealership and Gerry Smith. Brian did a great job on the paper work. That was two days ago and we already have purchased new tires, bug deflector and some window guards for the rain.

5-6 years ago we purchased our vehicles out-of-town until we ventured into Joe Machens Ford, we purchased a Lincoln MKT from Doug Mooney -- since that time John has been to see Doug many a time since that purchase, always willing to help. I was just starting to look for a new vehicle and had no intention of purchasing a vehicle when I stopped by Joe Machens Ford in Columbia. Brian Hardaway met me in the lot. He was very friendly and helpful and by the time I left I was seriously considering a purchase and within 2 days was driving off the lot in a brand new Ford Explorer! Everyone at Machens was great to work with, friendly, attentive and I couldn't find another dealer that could match the price! After my car was totaled I went to Joe Machens Ford to purchase a replacement vehicle. Still emotionally wounded over the loss of my beloved 06 Trailblazer, Ronni found me shuffling around the lot and directed me to her desk. Patiently, she reviewed several cars with me. I selected one, went to Charlie for finance, and left with full intention to buy that vehicle the next day. However, a nearly sleepless night left me uncommitted. I went back two days later and re-did the search process. Ronni was once again helpful and patient. We found a 2013 Dodge Avenger (now named Tony) and while I still retain love for my dear departed Trailblazer, my new car makes me feel things I have never felt before. Thanks Ronnie for the help. My auto shopping experience with Joe Machens Ford was very good and ended up saving me a lot of money. I first walked into the dealership and spoke with sales manager, Justin Cochran. He was pleasant to speak with and very helpful. I asked to test drive a Ford Fiesta. He had sales consultant, Ronni Niswonger to help assist me. My experience with her was very pleasant and she was very knowledgeable. Ronnie answered any questions that I had about the Fiesta to my satisfaction. Finance consultant, Brian Rush was very informative and helpful in finalizing my car purchase. He informed me of all purchase extras; such as the extended warranty plan. I had no doubt in my mind about the paper work and its content that I signed. My overall opinion of my car buying experience was pleasant and informative. While I finally got the vehicle I wanted, it took weeks as they kept changing the price on the vehicle after we spoke and agreed. Once I finally picked up my car and arrived home, we noticed a GIANT scratch across the entire hood of the SUV. They had to buff it out two times before it was no longer visible. After the first time of buffing, it was still completely visible and they thought I would be satisfied and seemed disappointed when I said no it was not okay. Now 28 days after purchase, I still don't have the title or the 2nd key or the master key code for the door and multiple calls and texts with our salesman gets us nowhere. EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Today was the second car I have bought from Doug Mooney at the Ford Lincoln location in 2 years. The first car I bought was an easy experience with Doug although that was my first experience of meeting Doug. A year later Doug called me just to see how I was getting along with my Fusion and if I had any questions. When I had my car for 2 years, I decided to trade,, I got in touch with Doug, told him what I was looking for. Since I am a working single lady, my time like everyone's, is limited to taking time to go to dealerships and test driving cars.. We had a lot of communication back and forth with text / phone calls, he asked the questions, I gave the answers. Doug didn't quit or try to talk me into something with less "wants" , he kept trying and did not make me feel like I was wasting his time. Within a few days he had a car with all my wants sitting at the location for me to try. He even accommodated me on scheduling a time that worked for me to come in and sign papers. I recently purchased a used 2012 Fusion for my 16 year old twins. I emailed Troy Atkisson to make an appointment because we live in St. Charles. I am a California Resident, and had the misfortune of dealing with Joe Machens Ford. When looking for a Chevy Caprice, I inquired about the two 2011 Chevrolet Caprice PPVs That JM Ford had in stock. I was informed by Mr. Jason Lane that Joe Machens had two cars, one with 105,000 miles and one with 121,000 miles that they were asking the same amount of money for. I expressed my interest in the lower mile Caprice and to negotiate a price/shipping for the vehicle to my residence here in CA. Moments after, I was informed that the lower mile Caprice was just sold, and only the higher mile unit was available.Upon hearing this, I begrudgingly accepted to buy the higher mile unit, with promises by the seller that the vehicle was, aside from the mileage, functionally identical to the lower mile vehicle. With this assurance, I decided to buy the car and send payment/ sign the paperwork that was fedexed to me.After the transaction was completed (on paper at least) I was browsing the JM Ford website, and found a photo of the dash of my new vehicle that appeared to be showing a Traction Control Light. THIS PHOTO WAS NOT ON THE EBAY AD. I asked the seller to confirm the light was on, and he sent me a photo showing that the light was in fact lit, and because I bought the car "as is" I should have expected problems from a used car, even though prior to sending payment, I was sold the vehicle as "functionally in great condition" and "identical to the other, lower mile unit aside from the odometer", which did not have any lights shown on the dash or any issues based on the provided photos on eBay or your website. He also informed me of a wheel imbalance issue at this time, another fact that was not included in my inquiry of the vehicle's condition prior to the sale.All in all, I feel that Mr. Jason Lane purposely withheld information from me in order to sell a car in poorer condition than the car I inquired about for the same price.After receiving the vehicle two Saturdays ago and attempting to diagnose the problem, it has become evident that the EBCM is faulty, and will be a high three to low four figure repair for a problem that was hidden from me during the sale of the vehicle. I feel that a combination of half-truths, deceitful sales tactics, and complete fabrications have led me to own this Chevrolet Caprice, and I am completely and thoroughly dissatisfied with the lack of honesty and integrity exhibited by Mr. Jason Lane through phone and text correspondence.

While I had done my review with USAA total car, it remained super easy to locate vehicles that interested me. Ironically, Joe Machens possessed all of them! Once I indicated my interest, an email quickly followed asking method of contact preferred and times. I hit a DEER with my Minivan and the ins. co. Totaled it out I was not prepared for this at all, mentally or financially. I loved my little minivan!! I found the same minivan on the internet with less miles and a upgrade on the interior. Inquired via e-mail and within minutes had a reply and a phone call. I believe her name Tracy very nice & she was able to answer all my questions and I told her I still had to deal with my Ins. Co. and she even had some suggestions for that which was VERY helpful!!!So when I finally got a way to get to Joe Machens Ford. I was introduced to Doug Mooney and proceeded to tell him what had happened and why I was there, he went to get the keys and someone was already out driving it and making a deal on it ? !! Another disappointment!!! And after cursing my Ins. Co. again Doug proceeded to see what else was available that Might Suite me. Notice I said suite me because not just anything would do, I have very specific demands when it comes down to what I am driving in a minivan and the price was a big Leap also because, of course the Ins. Co. only thinks your vehicle is worth what you think it is when you are paying the premiums. Hit a Deer and the whole thing changes!!So we looked at this and that drove this and that but, nothing was saying this is for ME - ?!! Then when he was about out of options he found something that had not even been added to the inventory yet ;-) over at one of the other branches it sounded interesting so we went over there the only thing that had been done was a bath it was parked in the shop and it was past closing time for the shop workers!! So there was no way I was getting to drive it that day but!!!! That was OK I LIKED IT!! You can say it was like a Little Lost Puppy saying PLEASE take me home or whatever you want LOL!!! With the help of USAA car buying service, my wife and I made a decision on the type car we wanted and was provided with the name of Troy Atkisson at Joe Machens Ford in Columbia, MO. Troy took the time to personally contact us to help with questions and decisions we had about our choice of vehicles. Troy was punctual at our meeting at Joe Machens and was prepared to show me the many different selections of Ford Escapes on the lot. I was most impressed with Troys knowledge of all the features of the vehicles and his superb demeanor in our conversations. He was not a high pressure salesman, but genuinely cared about providing the best for our desires. Troy and I test-drove two Escapes, one with a 1.6 Ecoboost engine and one with a 2.0. He humbled himself by admitting he didnt realize the noticeable difference in the two engines and realized immediately what we wanted. The next day I brought my wife to Joe Machens and Troy had done his homework and selected the exact car that met our desires. After my wife drove the car and looked at the other selections, we chose the car Troy had picked out for us. From that point on, Troy took us under his wing and assisted us in the most professional manner on purchasing the Escape. The whole car buying experience was the best my wife and I have experienced in our 46 years of marriage; thanks to Troy.

Dustin was very patient with my picky details on the vehicle I wanted and my budget. We had tried to set up a deal last summer but my budget wasn't there. We researched Ford Explorer XLTs on the web then visited Joe Machen's sales lot. We were met by Sales Associate Derek Sullivan who patiently and professionally showed us a large inventory of XLTs then allowed us an extended test drive in the unit we wanted. Derek and Manager Justin Cochran offered us a great deal and a great trade-in. Then we compared the Explorer XLT to the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Ford remained the best deal financially. And the Explorer XLT remained the best make-and-model product. Finance Manager Mark Weiner provided us a very favorable 0% APR / 60 month loan and a very favorable 5 Year / 100,000 mile extended warranty. My daughter needed a new car so we searched online and found a nice 2010 red Ford Fusion in her price range located at Joe Machen's Ford / Lincoln on Bernadette Dr in Columbia Missouri. She called early in the morning on 2/17/2016 and asked if she could look at the car. The Machen's representative, Tracy (no last name provided), told my daughter that the car would be available to look at that afternoon. My daughter gave Tracey her name and Tracy said she had her info and the car would be there. I went with my daughter to look at the car. We arrived at the showroom and Mike Butler greeted us at the door. We told him why we were there and who we had talked to. Mike went back to the desk and then reported that he couldn't find any record of the appointment. Not a big deal so we told him we were there to look at the 2010 red Ford Fusion, our budget amount and that we would be happy to work with him. Mike searched for the car and told us it had been sold already. He suggested we look over the lot for any other Ford Fusions or any other car that fit our budget. We agreed and went with Mike to look thru the lot. Mike showed us many cars that were way over our budget amount. My daughter repeatedly told him that the cars were above her budget. Mike took us to several other locations to view cars but they were all over the budget amount. We spent about 2 hours driving around Columbia.When we got back to the main lot there was a 2010 Silver Ford Fusion parked in a spot that was empty on our last pass thru the lot earlier in the evening. Mike showed us the car and said the keys were not available. We decided to go with this car and wanted to hold the car until the next day when we could see it in the daylight, drive it and check it out.This is where things got confusing. We went back to Mike's desk and negotiated a price. They would not budge off of the $7495 sticker price. They said the car belonged to Joe Machen's Nissan and they couldn't negotiate a price. We started to leave and thanked Mike for his time. Mike all of a sudden got out a contract and said "I'm going to sell you this car" He asked for our drivers license and said he was going to take the info to his manager Joe Patucek. They both returned and said the price was firm. I told them they were asking above retail book value and they disagreed. We again tried to leave and Joe said, "will you pay $7200 total price out the door?" My daughter agreed and they wrote up the paperwork and she wrote a check for the full amount of $7200.We went to test drive and pick up the car on 2/18/2016 at 5pm. Mike Butler met us at he door and asked us to have a seat while he pulled the car around. He came back and said he had made a new key that cost $100. Mike said the original key(s) were not available. This seemed very strange to me and my daughter. Mike took us out to the car and we went on a short test drive. Mike said we were next in line for the business office to do the paperwork so we rushed thru the test drive. When we got back we discussed the mysterious key situation. I'm not clear on what the reason was but Mike said something like the Nissan dealer owned the car and wouldn't give them the keys. I'm going to copy in the conversation I had with the Joe Machen's Nissan representative. See below.Last night I purchased a car from the Joe Machens group of dealerships at their truck center on Bernadette Dr. I had a question about the transmission and opened a chat session on their web page since it was after business hours. The chat agent recorded my question and said someone would get back to me in the morning. I got an email and a phone call from Michael Hartgrove at Joe Machens Nissan this morning. Michael tried to answer my question but said the car was no longer on his lot. He asked several questions. "Did you buy the car?" I replied yes, we signed the papers and wrote a check. He asked what we paid and I told him the amount of $7200. He replied "I could have sold it to you for a lot less". I asked how much less and he replied $6800. I told Michael that I would discuss this with the other salesman that sold me the car (Mike Butler). While I was talking to Mike and Joe at their location on Bernadette we talked about the extremely unprofessional call I got from Michael Hartgrove at the Nissan location. I asked if they could lower the price by $400 dollars and they refused. Joe offered two free oil changes. We were very close to cancelling the deal but my daughter accepted the terms and we went thru with the purchase. I had to be very insistent that they provide a second key and the keyless entry FOB (clicker). After a total of about three hours we got thru the process of working with Mike and Joe on the deal and signing all the paperwork. We were told that the car would have to come back for a state inspection on 2/19/2016 so we set an appointment for 9:30am today 2/19/2016. My daughter showed up at 9:16am and was there until noon. They provided a second key and very old FOB clicker. They didn't provide a full tank of gas in the car.I was very disappointed with this level of service from all of the Joe Machens team members. I simply will never buy a vehicle from this business again.

I contacted Mike Vanella in regards to trying to find a cheaper vehicle that was better on gas mileage. I worked with him and Keith Reiss. They both were super easy to work with. They met and exceeded my expectations. Not only is my payment lower and gas mileage better they were able to help me get cash back on my trade in, new floor matts, and everything I wanted in my new to me vehicle. Every time I had a question or concern they were quick to answer and address it. I recommend them all the time to all my friends and family. If you want someone you can trust these two are REAL, down to earth, good people.

I had a good experience at joe machens in columbia with russel hoskins. i stopped in one day and told him what i was looking for and which they didnt have any on there lot in columbia they were in jeff city. so he sent me pictures of them so i could pick out the one i wanted to be brought to columbia for me and my wife to look at.

I took my son to Joe Machens Ford in Columbia last Friday to buy a truck. What happened was terrible. As we negotiated our deal with a great salesman, Brad, some jerk named Terry came into the deal and tried to take over. I guess he thinks a lot of his people skills, but they suck!Not only did we not need this condescending egotistical xxx, but he called me a liar. My son and I disagreed about an issue with the truck. Not a big deal, but when Terry the jerk got involved he made a comment to me, "your word should mean something". What an xxx. Not only was he wrong, but then he had the rudeness to tell me my word was no good. Then the little jerk called and left me a voice mail, (which I kept), stating he had been there 30 years and no one had ever been displeased with his customer service skills. What planet is he from? Even his co-workers have told me he is a jerk. I have purchased several vehicles from Joe Machens over the last several years and have sent a lot of customers to them too, but those days are over.All I can say for the new owners of Joe Machens, is they may want to give Terry a job he is better suited for, like custodial work. Probably won't be much involved with pissing off a 15 year loyal customer.

My husband and I had been looking to trade in both of our vehicles and came to JM Ford at the recommendation of my father. Dan (Mahuri) met me in the parking lot, and it was smooth sailing from there. His patience while we decided what we wanted and tried to find time to come in and take a look at vehicles was appreciated. He spent a great deal of time getting numbers worked out and contacting me via phone as it was difficult to get into the dealership throughout the week. He entertained my kids, gave them snacks, and even played with the baby while we worked out financing with Gene. The night we signed on our vehicles, it was pouring down rain. Dan personally switched everything out of my old car into my new car, placing everything in the exact spot he found it. We have bought several vehicles from JM and this is by far the best experience, hands down. Don't let Dan's youth fool you, this is one salesman who knows exactly how to take care of his customers. We found a 2016 hybrid we were interested in and arranged to test drive the car. There I found a new 2015 Explorer Limited with at a very good price posted. I called Troy Atkisson and he was very accomodating and suggested that there was even a little "on line" discount which made the price even better. I set up an appointment with him and found him to be professional and friendly. We agreed on the price that we discussed over the phone and finished the deal that day. We drove more than 100 miles to Joe Machens Ford to purchase a Ford Edge. They were our only choice because we heard from friends in our area of their professionalism, their knowledge of product, friendly, not pushy, sales staff and their followup service being excellent. We also saw more "J. Machens Ford Lincoln" on vehicles in our area than any other dealers' I.D.Our Sales Rep., Bruce "Cotton" Mulnix, worked very patiently with us during the search for Edge vehicles that I had placed on my computer called, "My Car Watch." He found what we wanted in a color my husband loved immediately. After test driving, came a multitude of paperwork which Bruce did everything possible to farm out various items so those people in business section(s) could begin working on their end of our new purchase. This saved us tons of time !! He went over many new features of our soon to be new car and showed me how to go online for explanations, education and many pieces of information. My husband received a stack of books to peruse. Bruce answered every question either of us had and did it in a professional and friendly manner. When we asked for additional items to be added to our purchase, he made it happen. Besides. Bruce is a great fellow Cardinal Fan, we were delighted!!All of the staff we met at the Worley St., Joe Machens Ford Lincoln facility were very friendly and made this huge, scary major purchase a small slice of comfort for us. I am very disappointed with the service here. I brought my car in on a Tuesday morning for a power steering recall. They said it should take half a day. It is now Friday at 330 and I get a call it will not be done until Friday. A power steering problem takes 3 hours and an alignment takes 45 min. I'm very confused why it took one week to do a 3 hour job? They never called about what the status was, I had to call them repeatedly. Although they did offer me a rental car, it's just very disappointing.

I recently purchased a 2014 Jeep Cherokee from one of Joe Machens other locations. After many issues, and a long legal process it was repurchased. I was able to work with Marco from Joe Machens Ford Lincoln on purchasing another vehicle to replace my Jeep. I was unsure of exactly when I would be able to purchase the car that I wanted, a BMW 328i, but Marco and the other's were willing to hold the car for me until I was able to return the Jeep and secure financing on the BMW. They also allowed me to have an extended test drive, and they helped me get from one dealership to another on the day I returned the Jeep. Marco and Joe Machens Ford Lincoln went above an beyond what I would have ever expected, and I could not recommend them more!

Highly recommend Steve. He listened to exactly what I was looking for, the budget I needed to stay within, and worked with J.D. to help make it happen. Paul took me and my 5 year old for test drives. He was very patient, there was no pressure. I had driven from Kansas City in a bit of a time crunch to take a look, and we accomplished it all in a short amount of time. Got home and price compared to dealerships in the KC area. Steve and the Machens team definitely delivered the best value. 5 stars all the way and best customer service.

My wife and I were looking for a very specific model of Transit Connect with very specific options. Lou Ann did not have one on the Columbia lot, but she was able to find the exact one in Jeff City and had it delivered to Columbia the same day. We needed the van in a hurry so Lou Ann came in early the next morning to do the "dealer prep" and we had the new Transit by 9am. Lou Ann and the management staff were very helpful and really seemed to have our interests at heart. The new van has met all our expectations and we feel we got a fair price. I needed to trade in my 2011 Escape so I came in to see Danny. H eput me in contact with Tate so he can show me the different options of the car I wanted. Tate was very efficient and helped me narrow doww to only a couple options thoroughly explaining the different aspects of each car. When I made up my mind I went back to the showroom to see Danny one more time and work up some numbers. At first I thought the price was too steep for me so Danny showed me other ways I could go about buying the car I wanted. At the end I just went with my first option and I am happy with the car I now drive, a 2015 Escape.

One Saturday out on the lot we were greeted by Russ Berry, who introduced us to Troy Atkisson. From then on Troy listened to our wants and needs, suggesting options and allowing us to make a choice that best fit us. This was our second Joe Machens purchase in the last two years and we are sold. Within 3 short hours we were driving home in a great 2015 Escape, Ruby Red! Both of my daughter's and son-in-laws have purchased vehicles from Nathan Hart and highly recommended him when I decided to upgrade my vehicle earlier this month. Received a phone call from Tracy after requesting information about a couple of vehicles listed on the Joe Machen's website. Tracy referred us to Nathan Hart in internet sales and he was great! Nathan helped us get the information we were looking for concerning the cars we were interested in-- turned out that none of those were available. Nathan then asked our price range, vehicle type, mileage and told us he would see what he could find that might interest us. Within a day he called to let us know about a car that he thought fit our criteria. Together with Manager Russ Berry, they were able to find the right vehicle for us and keep it within our price range. They were really nice to work with. This was actually a vehicle purchased by my son. He is thrilled with his purchase. What could have been a really frustrating experience in not being able to see the first cars that were of interest was turned completely around thanks to Nathan. I feel he went above his duty as a salesman to locate a car that my son would like and be in his budget.
