Basically overpriced salvage title cars and they don't show the true damage in their pictures though they do disclose some of the damage when you get ready to buy..... You can always find better. I certainly did.

2010 E550 4Matic on 10/16/2015

Customer Service: 5.0 Buying Process: 5.0 Quality Of Repair: 5.0 Overall Facilities: 5.0

While looking for a specific vehicle (Mercedes E550, sport package, p2, pano roof, and 4 matic), I ended up searching nationwide to find the vehicle I was after at the price I was willing to pay. I stumbled on an ad for my car and it had incredibly low miles (24k) and was priced well below what every other vehicle was that I had run across. After a great deal of reading, I could find very minimal negative feedback on this dealership, and nothing in regards to problems with the vehicles themselves. A person complaining about going to the dealership and not getting enough attention, Another complaining that they had to bring the car back to be fixed (which it was... for free), etc. For a used car, this comes with the territory. The owner (who I believe tends to be the main sales person) took a great deal of time going through their buying and inspection process. My car, like the majority of the vehicles there is a flood related insurance loss resulting in a "rebuilt" title. I am very familiar with insurance practices so this did not scare me much. Mike put his money where his mouth was and included a lifetime warranty on anything related to the reason for prior salvage (water), and a 60 day parts and labor warranty. Note: the labor rate would not be "take it to your local shop" rate, but what he pays his techs, and he would provide parts. I have owned my Mercedes since April, and have had ZERO issues related to the water. I went through all fluids (I was told they were replaced by them prior to sending the vehicle out)...Everything seemed fresh as was disclosed. I DID have a few small issues with the car. I will be clear however, These were NOT issues they had tried to hide, but simple "it's a German import" items. The car did not arrive with these and they manifested themselves about 6 weeks after I obtained the vehicle and had driven it back to Minnesota from Colorado. I called up and spoke with Dave, the head of their service department who was extremely helpful. He is extremely knowledgeable with these vehicles. They went well above and beyond any expectations I could have had and provided the parts needed to resolve the problems (some air suspension issues in the first year of my model.... widely known and even had a Mercedes service bulletin on the topic). I have owned dozens of cars in my life and bought many from dealerships locally. I have to say, the service I received from these guys from half way across the country far exceeds what I have had at my local Mercedes, BMW, and Land Rover dealerships. I watch their inventory whenever I hear of a friend looking to buy a new vehicle. They will probably be getting a call from my co-worker for a c class 4 matic soon! If you have an hesitations about these guys, put your mind at ease. Give them a call and you won't get a slick salesperson... you might have to wait for a call back. Why? Because they take the time to educate you about the vehicle you are interested and stand behind what they sell. A+ (I had a follow up question just this week and Dave took the time to call me and discuss something I was curious about which has inspired this longer term review).

not the best place.

All of their vehicles are branded rebuilt titles from mostly flood cars. They might tell you this when buying it. Just note that the car is worth half of the price advertised. My bank even told me this when buying it. Their list price is if it was a clean title. So just buyer be wary your 20k luxury sedan with no miles is worth 10k. I would buy from them if you find the right deal. However they are terrible with the buying process you have to do everything on your own and make a million phone calls. If you want a hassle free experience go to a real dealership.

I was searching for an all wheel drive sports sedan with roomy seating. Mike introduced me to a Porsche Panamera 4, which was a perfect match and the purchase was a smooth transaction. A different Panamera 4S arrived with an even better color scheme. Mike spent the time to develop a trade-in deal and honored mutually agreed upon terms. He ensured that I was covered by the vehicles warranty, which was critical to me being a previously owned, luxury car. Also, Mikes reputation among the Porsche service representatives is outstanding. Additionally, Dave in service is attentive to any maintenance and service needs as well as following up with his customers. Im currently driving my second car from Imports and will continue to use them for future vehicles.

Knowing Imports Unlimited specializes in reclaimed titles i researched this company for hours. As hard as i tried i cannot find a single complaint about the reliability of the cars purchased. Mike knows his buisness well. He was upfront about the cars history, and took time to explain the whole process. In the end i was so impressed i not only wanted to buy a car, i wanted a job selling them. If you want a good car for significantly less than you will pay elsewhere, take a trip to Imports Unlimited. You definitely won't be sorry.

You will notice that I previously wrote a review about Imports Unlimited. I still own the Veloster, and it's been over a year since I bought it. Usually a car dealership forgets about you after you're gone a month. Certainly when no warranty is involved, you may be forgotten by the time you drive a block away. One year after I bought the car, this strange "Safe Mode" occurred and my Veloster pooped out. Though this problem had nothing to do with the water damage, as disclosed when I bought the car, Dave not only took care of it but practically adopted my car to be sure it would be fine. Dave is the service manager at Imports Unlimited. I've already written about how honest and open Mike and Mike were in the showroom; but now you should know that the backstage area is just as honorable and highly skilled. I probably will not have any reason to return there, since my car is back to being in perfect condition. But maybe I'll find an excuse to buy another car....just to see the Unlimited Gang again.

Love this place and the people working there too!

I drove only Honda Civics since 1980. There was no way I would ever switch to any other make or model car. However, my boyfriend casually brought me to Imports Unlimited, and I fell in love with this awesome Hyundai Veloster. The owner, Mike, was completely honest with me as to the water damage of the car. Though he could have been quite busy, since there were calls coming to him from all over the world (Really...All over the world!); he spent so much time with me and wanted me to be sure that I could adjust to giving up the love of my life, my Civic. I took the car home and I was given time to change my mind. But I didn't. I Loved the car. And then a few weeks after buying it, something goofy happened and it went into "Safe" mode. Not a problem; since Mike and his service department (run by Dave; another great guy) actually sent a tow truck to pick it up. They gave me back my Civic to use until they were sure they solved the problem. The problem not only got solved, but I saw how dedicated everyone is at that facility. I still stop by there to say "Hi" and show off my car. While I'm complimenting the sincerity of everyone who works there, I must include Michael S. He's at the desk next to Mike, and he still remembers my name and is genuinely concerned if I still like my car. You don't find that at any other car dealerships.... even Honda.

As long as you know going in that their cars are all (or most?) rebuilt or reconditioned to some degree, and are okay with that, you can get more car for your money here. It's no "free lunch", and I wouldn't exactly call it a bargain (since you're trading warranty, potentially reliability, and resale value in exchange for the lower price). It's a risk, so if you're not okay with that, spend the extra money to get a good-title car elsewhere. I got a BMW 5 series many years ago, at a cheap price, and it looked and drove as if it were brand new. The one complaint I had was that it seemed like they didn't cure the paint correctly, and in one spot it bubbled a bit. However, it was shiny and perfect everywhere else. In fact, the car was stolen from me, and the insurance investigator thought I tried to pull a fast one by swapping pictures of a brand new car for my 50,000 mile car. I actually got just about what I paid for it after driving it for a year. Oddly, many of the overly positive reviews here seem fishy, so beware of the glowing reviews. I'd buy again from them if I were in a position to, but at this point I need a reliable car and can't take the risk.

Dealer is trying to sell flood cars with a "rebuild" title for more than blue book value. The car shown to me needed repairs that the dealer would not fix until he received a deposit. I don't know of too many people that want to put a deposit on a car that needs repair. The owner was too busy to give me more than 15 minutes of his time. I was not impressed to say the least.

I had inquired about a 2012 Infinity via email and told the salesperson who replied I would stop by with my wife. My wife and I went there and looked at the car in the showroom. The salesperson came over and gave us the impression we had bothered him. We looked at the car and asked the questions about the rebuilt title and other things about the vehicle. While we looked he aswered a call on his cellphone and walked away talking and ended up at his desk leaving us just standing there. Seeing that it seemed to be more of a personal call we waited a few minutes and left. I am in sales, not car sales, and realize the challenge in todays economy of getting things sold. I didnt realize that it was that easy to sell a $30,000 vehicle that you could show zero interest in a customer and still get the sale.... I have since visited the Infinity dealer, who treated me like a customer they wanted, and am in the process of purchasing new instead of used. Learn some customer service skills if you are going to deal with the public and are going to actually try to sell something.

I purchased a used 2005 Porsche Boxster. The car underwent a strict PA inspection and then another by my local Porsche mechanic. He only works on Porsches. The auto passed both inspections perfectly. The car is exactly what I wanted -- a high performance car at a good price that was mecanicaly sound. The dealership worked with me very responsibly. They held the car as they said they would, answered my questions patiently, and were very helpful throughout the purchase process. The dealer was not pushy nor did they over-represent the car in any way. They kept the discussion very factual. Driving the car is great, pure fun. My kids and I are having a blast with it. Would I do it again? You bet, but I don't have to, not for a while at least. This one is a keeper. Thank you, Imports Unlimited.

Noticed a very well priced 2010 Mercedes Benz E Class on Cars.com and stopped by to visit this is where the nightmare began, Upon entering the showroom or what they call a showroom no one greeted me and my friend we stood around for 10 minutes before any help was offered at all. We ended up speaking with a older gentlemen by the name of Rick which is short for Richard. We spoke to him about the car and asked to see the car at this time he could not tell if the car was present or not and if it had been sold before we arrived, We informed Rick the car was outside as we had noticed it and took a peek after pulling in. Once he was able to find the Key we went outside to look and started up the car and looked it over car was in great shape minus the Hood Emblem which had been ripped off apparently overnight according to Rick the salesmen. After looking at the car we went back inside and talked numbers on my trade in which was a 2009 Jaguar XF supercharged with 36K and in mint condition i wanted 32k for the trade in and he agreed just said he needed to have his Appraiser look the car over, Well after that we left and he promised he would call the next day with the approval and information to complete the process. After promising to call no phone call ever came so 2 days later i called Rick(Richard) and asked what was going on he said a lot of people were out of work because of the flu and he would finish up the paperwork and call me back the next day, Once again no phone call so i called back and he said he had to check a few things and call me back again, So 6 hours later he finally called back and told me they could not take my trade in and to take it to Carmax and have them buy it then come back to them and purchase the 2010 Mercedes E350... and they had to many cars on the lot and could not do the trade in after for almost a week stringing me along.. This service is horrible and the dealership is shady so beware if you buy here as they only offer one form of financing and its a local credit union they deal with due to the fact all the cars on the lot have Rebuilt or Salvaged Titles.. and most banks will not finance these types of cars... TAKE IT FROM ME STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE....

Contacted this dealership via phone because they had a ridiculously priced 2011 BMW M3. The salesman was very forthright about the dealership's practice of dealing in water-damaged and theft recovery insurance claim vehicles. However, he was quite dodgy when asked about the specific circumstances if the particular vehicle I was looking at. Ultimately, he said that someone in service would get back to me with the detail I was asking for. In the end, I never heard anything from the dealership regarding this car. For anyone considering purchasing a car from this dealership in the future, make sure you do your homework. Definitely get the VIN and run your own Carfax. And, know that a salvage vehicle will plague you when you turn around to sell it later in. More than ever, let the buyer beware!

I would never purchase a car from this place I went all the way to Wallingford to purchase a car. They said it had been in one accident, which didn't seem so. The owner was very pushy and very very rude. He said the car belonged to a "60 year old lady" as I was leaving the dealership a lady told my brother that the car had been in several accidents. I don't recommend buying a car from this place.

I will admit I was a little leery after speaking with them over the phone and finding out it was a flood damaged vehicle, however once seeing and driving the truck decided to purchase. The truck has been fine and has no problems all at a cost to me thousands less than other similar trucks (due to the history). I would definitely not hesitate to deal with them again.

My family and I have been buying cars from Imports Unlimited since the mid 90. We have bought all of our cars from the dealership and recommend them to all our friends and family. It is always nice dealing with the employees there, you walk in, they are up front with all the information on the vehicles, and always set prices at their lowest. I just recently had a friend ask to buy my car, so after selling it to him, I went straight to Imports Unlimited and left with a practically brand new 2010 VW Golf that looks and performs like I just bought a brand new Golf from the dealer, but at a huge discount. I still get compliments on the car to the day! My family and I will be customers for life!

I have purchased over 10 vehicles from Imports over the past 15 years at great prices and have never had a problem with either a flood or theft recovery. One of my vehicles is still running with my grandson and has 240,000 miles on it. They are up front with where the cars come from and that is why you are saving money on the purchase price. My children and many relatives have purchased cars here and are very satisfied. When I need anohter car it will be from Imports Unlimited.

Apparently they have buyers who find flood-damaged cars which they then recertify. Manufacturer 'can' pull the warranty so they do not promise a warranty above their short warranty. They have a warranty they can sell you but they quote roughly 60% coverage of a car. Sounded very shady. If you buy here or consider buying here, think about whether or not you can get or want warranty coverage and who would cover it. Moreover, consider whether your financing source will allow financing of a reconditioned car.

Yes they have good deals, but there is a reason for that. Most cars have a past, and they do not use Carfax...they use some other brand. I went to ask about a car and my trade in. I went back three times, each time the value of my car went down about $1000 dollars with no good reason (all within a month). I went somewhere else to trade it in they gave me $1500 more than these guys were. ALSO...they were confused about my trade in tax. There is supposed to be a tax credit when you trade in (other dealerships knew this) they were not going to give me that. I'm so glad I checked with other dealerships or I would have gotten ripped off.
