Nice Car but unhappy experiance

I purchased a 2015 Certified Pre-Owned Accord, which I am generally happy with. I did have a few problems with my experience with the dealer, the two most aggravating issues are below. Aftermarket/modifications are not allowed under the CPO program. The car had modified headlights, which I was unaware of. One side stopped working after 3 days, I took it to the service department. Long story short, after dealing with a sales manager and the service manager the service adviser (very nice guy) said the dealership would only cover half the cost. I showed them the inspection report that clearly states aftermarket parts/mods are not acceptable, they still would not budge. It wasn't until I called Honda, that SM Honda magically decided I was right and that they would fix the car. Second issue was the dealer never ordered the plates for my car. I had to go back into see a finance person to get the plates ordered 6 weeks after I bought the car.

The dealership is the worst EVER!! They were great at selling me my 2013 Honda Accord, but when I went to get it serviced They didn't even filled up the windshield washer fluid, so next time I went I told them to please fill it up since I was paying for it, the guy agreet to make sure it was done, but when I went to pick up my car, again they didnt do it. Next time I took my car to get serviced I told them to please make sure the fluids were filled up, and again the guy agreed to check and make sure, then I go to pick up my car and I saw my car in the middle of the street UNLOCKED!! I checked the fluids and again the fluids were unfilled, I told the guy and he felt bad about leaving my car unattended and unlocked, so he gave me a free mini car deatealing. I went back again to get my car serviced, my appointment was at 10am and I told the guy to please make sure he filled up my fluids, so he agreed and and I left, the time passed and then at 5pm I called to see what had happedned with my car, the guy told me that the service department was close, and so I explained to him that I had dropped off my car at 10am, and I needed to pick it up, he told me tha he was going to check, and it wasn't till 6pm that he called me to let me know that my car was ready, I was soooo upset because I needed my car!! It doesn't take 8 hours to get an oil change!!! so then I went to pick up my car, and the guy had lost my keys!! It took the guy about 15 mins to finally find my keys, so I went to check the fluids and realized that the mechanic had put WATER instead of windshield washer fluid!!!! I was very mad, then I callled the service manager, he wasnt there so I left a message with another guy, 3 days went by and I never received a call, so I called the service manager again and I told him about my ordeal, he told me that he was going to look at what had happened and he was going to call me back the next day. He never called, so then I called the corporation and explained my complaint, the guy said that he was going to talk to the manager, and call me back, again the guy never callled me back, so now I dont even know if they are actually doing the entire service right to my vehicle. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CAR AFTER SERVICE, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT DOING WHAT THEY SAY THEY DO!!!

I live in Orange County, approximately 200 miles away from this dealership. I inquired about a vehicle on Friday night and Edward Tomilloso followed up Saturday morning. Approximately 24 hours and close to 30 emails later, I drove up to close the deal on Sunday. Edward is knowledgeable, customer oriented and professional. This was as smooth as a car purchase could possibly go. Knowing that my family had a long drive back home, Edward and the finance manager Alex both ensured that the paperwork and financial figures were exactly what we agreed to via email and we're ready to sign. Including the test drive, we were on our way in just about an hour. As a general rule I would recommend that anyone considering a car purchase should do extensive research on the value of the car they want, the financing they can qualify for and the value of their trade in (if applicable). Despite many, many questions and demands that I had, Edward remained patient and of course focused on closing the deal. This was not my first stop during my car search and I had walked away from several other dealerships when I felt they were not being transparent or forthright about a number of things. Edward gained my trust by knowing when to push and pull during the negotiation and I would encourage anyone to give him an opportunity during their car search. Overall this dealership and Edward and Alex compare favorably to almost any dealership I have been to, including a few of the luxury brands. Great job Honda of Santa Maria!

I have purchased 2 vehicles from Honda of Santa Maria and both times my experience was excellent! My husband and I purchased a 2008 Honda CRV as well as a 2014 Honda Pilot. We shopped the entire Central Coast and Honda of Santa Maria not only had the lowest price but the best customer service! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HONDA OF SANTA MARIA!

I bought a used 2004 Honda from this dealership and left very satisfied. My boyfriend and I inspected the car for quite some time and spent over 2 hours negotiating a price. The dealer was patient, friendly, helpful and the facilities were well maintained and comfortable to be at. Kobus, the sales consultant who sold me the car, even hand wrote a personal message on the congratulatory letter the dealership sent, to wish me luck on my endeavors. We found the car online, called in, drove to the dealership, and drove away with the car the same day. I would recommend this dealership to anyone.
