I bought a car 2 weeks ago from Andrew Reed at Honda of mentor and it was a great experience. Andrew is knowledgeable about his product and quick to return a phone call or text. He was instrumental in getting me into the car I wanted at a price I was willing to pay. This is my third car from Honda of mentor and I find their service to be exceptional, and their sales staff to be exceptional as well.

I tried to have my 08 accord serviced, i was told it may take a couple of days. I called at the end of the first day, they had no idea what was going on with my car. I called the second day, still no idea. I went to the dealer and my car was still outside and no one could tell me anything. very unprofessional dealership. I took my keys and left.

Bought a 2010 odessey took a few cranks to start after leaving it there 4 days after buying it was told they cleared the comp and it's fine. Took it home still same problem left it another 4 days service manager called me and said he put 230 miles on my van and no problems. Starting was the issue not driving the service manager Jim was rude and didn't care at all to have the issue fixed but did drive it 230 miles. Oh and he ignored the fact it's out of alignment. I will never return to give my business or for service. If you love your Honda go elsewhere. Service after the sale is not there priority.

I just had the air bags replaced in my 02 Accord. My A/C worked when I drove it in, but only blew hot air when they returned it. I'm not a car guy, I have no idea what happened, except that they returned it broken. When we went back to have them look at it, the first thing the woman in the service department said was "We didn't do that." I'm pretty sure she's not a mechanic. I did speak with Mark Hawthorne, the service manager who also said "it's nothing we did". No big surprise there, I knew I would be the one getting screwed here. We only had the air bags replaced because we wanted to start looking for a new car, specifically the Pilot. Since that's not going to happen, looks we are headed over to Toyota.

Horrible service department

Absolute worst service department I ever dealt with. My car is not even four months old and tried to have it serviced two times with no help. The first time waited over 15 minutes watching three service workers ignore me. They had no customer and no one even said hi. I complained to two managers and was told this had been addressed before. There is other complaints on the Internet about this. My second attempt was told I didn't have an appointment so couldn't help. I said I could leave it but the service manager said am I able to leave it for a couple of days. To have a backup camera and Bluetooth looked at. Never had a dealership tell me that before and have always serviced my cars at dealerships

Like an earlier post on here I waited for over 15 minutes being ignored by the service department., who also had no one in front of them. My second time to the service department I pulled in and told them what was wrong. The service worker said do you have an appointment and I told him no he said then I can't help u. I got mad and saiid give me my keys. He said we will make u an appointment I'd didn't want u sitting here all day. They didnt ask if I could leave it. That's what I planned on doing because I had a ride. I talked to the service manager and told him what had happened and he said u do need an appointment unless your prepared to leave your car for a couple of days, A new car not even four months and all I need is a back up camera adjustment and have them look at my blue tooth, Honda of Mentor service department makes you feel like you are a bother to them

I went to Mentor Honda to lease my first new car ever. I was completely satisfied with the options the dealership had available and was not limited in any way to getting a car the same day. Eddie Simmons was my car salesman and he did a great job telling me all the options that Honda had available. I went into Honda not really having any direction of the options avaible to me and I left with the best car that I could have gotten. Eddie helped me get into a brand new fully loaded civic for a great price that I am in love with. I would highly recommend Eddie to anyone looking to lease or buy a new Honda and I can guarantee you will be satisfied with what you drive off the lot with.

As soon as I pulled in, all service dept employees ignored me for at least 5 minutes, acting like I wasn't there. There was no car nor any customers there. Only me and them and they started laughing. It was a joke to them avoiding me. I was furious and when I asked for a manager, they didn't want to respond. I'm not sure what their problem was but I know not to take my car there, ever! Please don't waste your time and do the same. God bless! This was 03-31-2015 at about 3:30 pm.

I went into the dealership for fact finding purposes. I had only one criteria: a manual transmission. We had quickly narrowed down the models available that fit what I was looking for, leaving me with a couple options. I scratched two of the possibilities off due to lack of options and was left with a car that I had considered before, but assumed to be out of my price range. Desiree worked hard to maximize my trade in value, which with a small down payment (to pay off my trade) got me into a deal with $0 down for only $18 more than I was paying for my 7 year old Cobalt. Again, this was a fact finding mission, but I walked out of the dealership 2 days later with a car I had been looking at for 4 years. There was no pressure, only options. I had such a pleasant experience, I suggested my girlfriend take a look around. A week later, we are both happy Honda owners.

I went in for some information on a used Civic and walked out with a great offer on a brand new one. I was given a great offer (20% more than I was expecting) on my trade, which let me make a small down payment to pay off the negative equity in it and walk out with the keys to a brand new Civic Si for only $18 more than I was paying on my '06 Cobalt LT. After purchasing a car from this dealer with my mom I went back to purchase another car for myself and my wife. If you go here to get a vehicle make sure you ask for Desiree Spencer. Desiree is the best salesperson I have ever worked with. You can tell that she genuinely cares about the product that she is selling and cares about you as a customer. I have recommended 4 others to buy from Desiree and all have had a great experience. Not only did I have a wonderful buying experience here any time I went to this dealer for service I was greeted by the excellent staff. They always took care of me as fast as possible and were extremely kind and courteous throughout the process. The only bad thing I can say about the dealership is that I have recently moved and I can no longer go there!

Wrecked my car and needed to replace it. Heard a lot of things about this dealership, mostly negative so my intentions were to just look at the varieties of Hondas available. Of course I was approached by a salesman (typical) I told him up front that i was just looking and that if he intended to try n be pushy or b.s. Me that I would call him on it. Turns out this guy was very honest. He was patient, listened to my needs and went out his way to accommodate me. I was looking at an Accord that was a year or two old. Ended up going with a new civic. This guy took his time with me, if I had a question he would answer it and if he didn't know he was honest enough to say so. Everything I asked for, he made sure I got it. If you decide to give this dealership a try, I highly recommend that you ask for Ryan Palmer.

We recently purchased a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country. We were very pleased with to be dealing with Chip. He is very down to earth and easy going. Overall A+++ customer service. Upon purchasing the van we were assured a safety inspection was done before leaving the dealership. I am not unrealistic when it comes to purchasing a used vehicle, however with the "safety inspection" I assumed all would be fine to travel back to our home in Tennesee. 4 days prior we had totaled the exact van traveling north to visit family. I know how a this make and model drives. I raised some concern about the breaks before completing our purchase. We were informed that a saftey check was done and the sqeaking may have been from all the recent rain. Fair enough. Chip is not a certified mechanic and was only doing his job by telling only what he had been told to pass along to us. The following day after our purchase we were 3 hours south and the breaks basically went. I was very upset. I contacted managment and let them know how I felt. My situation was totally disregarded because the vehicle was purchased "As Is" I understand that, however safety should be a major concern when selling someone a vehicle especially with the previous concerns and the situation we had just experienced days before. Overall experience....the customer service aspect would bring me back to the dealership, but to only purchase warranted vehicles. Saftey is not their concern. After all was said and done I questioned the manager if he would put himself and his family in this vehicle. I wasn't surprised that he didn't respond.


Worst honda dealership experience in 100 miles

I went through at least 10 Honda dealers in OH and PA to purchase my new accord, and this dealership makes me feel that making profit is their only goal. Customer service is bad, and I felt cheated by the sales person and the financing manager. After knowing my other dealership's failure to secure a 2014 accord ex on specific colors (there is dealer cash on the 2014 but not the 2015), I called around to see if other dealers had the colors in stock. By calling more than ten dealers in OH and PA, several dealers said they had the colors: black, white, or modern steel. I talked to Adam Penko, who was the sales representative, and he confirmed they got ALL the colors. My statement on the colors and car models were very clear, while I said 2014 Honda accord ex automatic sedan with colors black, white or modern steel, so he definitely knew what I wanted. However, when I got there from 50 miles away, he played dealer games, saying "the car was there ten minutes ago, he saw it there, probably someone drove it away" when we walked down the field to see them. Then when we got back, he brought the financing manager in, they gave me a quote on the 2015 ex, not 2014 ex. So I said I called for a 2014, not a 2015, since I was able to get 2015 everywhere, and I did not need to waste time here. The attitude from the financing manager was pretty bad, and he said he could get a 2015 price similar to my current 2014. Then I let him to quote me one, and it turned out to be unreasonably high after his 20-minutes long "running numbers". So I was stuck there for 2 hours and failed to take the rest of my afternoon to go to more dealerships. In the end, I bought a 2015 ex from another dealership in Ohio. I cannot irresponsibly say it was their fault to fail me in securing a 2014 from other dealers, but it was definitely the worst Honda dealership experience I had. Not recommended to anyone who wants to buy a Honda.

I went this dealership trying to purchase a car listed on their website. The price was more then any other dealership around and I never been treated as poorly as this place did to me. Here the issue, I went to this place due to knowing a sale person that works here, I drove to this place which I live over 40 minutes from this place to they could see my trade in. The sale person I know wasn't working this day so I waited for someone else to come see my car and no one did after waiting for almost one hour and still no one so I left and no one seemed to care. Couple days later the sales person talks to me about the car again I tell them their price is higher then anyone else so he tells me to speak to a Manager, Brian a manager tells me to send other prices that I see, so I sent pages and pages other dealership with the same car some with lower miles and some were newer models for less. Don't go here, this place wasted my time and my gas! I drove up to this place (I live around 40 minutes from there) I know a sales person who works here so I thought I would give this place a chance boy I was wrong! First I went here trying to see about a car they have which there online price was higher then any where else but like I said I know a sales guy there so I thought what the heck, the day I was there the sales guy I know was off so I told them I have a my trade can someone look at it. I waited for almost an hour and no one brother to help me nor look at my car so I left. Days later the sales guy I know calls and tells me to speak with Manager Brian and so I did I sent this guy pages and pages of other dealership prices on the same car and then I get told there is nothing we can do and then tells me the car only been here for 10 days after looking on the Car Fax its been then longer then that surprise a guy dealer lying what a shock but here is the kicker on their website its states find a better price on the same car and we will beat it, well I found ones with better prices, lower mileage and some newer model years. I never dealt with a dealership like this, so save your save time don't brother with this place!

This review will be the last thing I have to do with Honda of Mentor. I have been a loyal customer with them for the last 8 - 9 years. The beginning of the relationship was great when I worked with Mike Reardon. Ever since he had moved on and the dealership changed locations, the only thing hitting rock bottom is their customer service...surely not their prices. My most current experience was making contact with Brian Landers re: the Honda Days 0/0/0 CR-V lease special for $290/mo. I was promised a call back in 30 min. 90 - 120 minutes later, I am calling them back for an update!! Not being able to reach Brian, I then contacted Billy Begam (whom we had done business with before). I had to walk him through Honda's 0/0/0 offer on their website because he seemed not knowledgeable of it! Well, after hours and hours of waiting, the final numbers jumped to $350/mo WITH turning in an existing leased vehicle WELL under the mileage in "immaculate condition" (quoted from the dealership that made the deal happen). Honda of Mentor had not even bothered to contact Honda Finance to see if they could do better. Even though the dealership I took my business to was 30 min away from me, they closed the deal in less time than I was left to wait for a return call from Honda of Mentor! In a way, I'm glad this happened because I got to experience similar level of customer service that I did during the days of Mike Reardon. I look forward to the many 30 minute trips I will make to do future business with them.

Honda of Mentor is absolutely the worst dealership that I have ever been to. I spent a great deal of time and money only to find out that the person dealing with my finances was NOT the correct person and messed everything up with the bank. I want to thank Honda for being extremely rude to me for weeks continuously calling me and e-mailing me. The salesman was decent but ended up lying a great deal to me. The car they sold me, after 2 days it didn't start up right away. Obviously they don't care about their customers and only money. The car was used. Sold as is and wanted an extra 3000 for 30 days of warrantee. I will never recommend this dealership.

On Monday July 8, 2013 my wife and I visited this dealership, shopping for a used car- Here are the details of the experience: We arrived at the dealership at a little after 7 p.m. We were greeted by the receptionist who summoned a salesperson for us. Although the wait was almost two minutes, it was apparent the dealership was busy, so I did not consider the wait time onerous. Our salesperson was named Shawn and he seemed friendly and polite. We indicated the car we wished to look at and he obtained the keys. I was moderately thorough in my inspection before even starting the car- the salesperson remained polite and patient during this time. In all, I spent approximately 10-15 minutes examining the car and the salesperson remained polite and did not display any overt impatience. I wished to test drive the car on residential streets as well as highway driving, but was unfamiliar with the area and had to rely on the salesman for directions. I was pleased to find that he didn't try to rush; he directed me through a route that allowed adequate time to assess the car. We decided to make an offer on the car- one that would require negotiation. I do not consider myself to be a particularly hard bargainer, but I was firm on a few issues and the salesperson was required to consult with the manager more than once. Although our discussion became moderately tense once or twice, the salesperson continued to be polite and professional. (This was where the 4 star rating for the buying process comes from; the buying process went fine- However, the dealer tried to insert a "Document Processing Fee"...Perhaps this is industry standard nowadays, but I oppose them on principle and refuse to ever pay one.) We were able to come to an agreement on the car, and after a few formalities, were directed to the finance office for payment. Again, the gentleman in that position was friendly and polite. He mentioned the usual enticements; extended warranty, this-protection, that-guard; but was not pushy or aggressive. Finally, our business concluded, I took delivery of the car. Now, in the past, I would not buy a car that didn't come with a full tank of gas. In this case however, I did not even broach the subject as I figured I had wrung out all the concessions I was going to get. I was then pleasantly surprised to discover that they had filled the tank up about halfway. Although I had resigned myself that I would have to make a stop to buy gas on the way home, (the dealership was over 40 miles away) they had saved me the inconvenience. In summary, I found my car buying experience at Mentor Honda to be positive overall and am perfectly comfortable in recommending them to family and friends. Thank you for reading.

This was our first experience buy a Honda vehicle. We could not have asked for more friendly or knowledgeable salesman. He was very helpful and answered all of our questions. This is the first time we are leasing a vehicle and the experience was great. I came to Honda of Mentor to look at and perhaps purchase a Honda CR-V. Marty and Billy were extremely helpful. I thought I wanted to purchase. Billy talked to me about leasing vs purchasing and we decided to lease. I wasn't sure about the color I wanted and Billy made sure that both of my color choices were available for me to see. I have to say that I had a wonderful experience at Honda. Our sales person John Gilday was awesome and if I could give him a higher rating than 5 I would. He went above and beyond for every part of the sale as well as finding me the color of car I really wanted. He spent time going over every feature of the car until I understood and I know if I need a repeat on instruction he will be there to assist! The Honda experience is one of satisfaction from the time you walk into the door until you drive your new car off the lot. The Dealer kept reminding me it was time for my 60,000 mile service. To make it easier on my wallet they sent me many coupons. I brought them all in at the time of service and they used the one that would give me the largest discount. It turned out to be $100 off! I thought the price was fair (I know you are leery that a dealer will be more expensive). For convenience I chose to use the free rental car which was great and so helpful. In addition, when the work was completed they give you a 180 day free road service which includes tires. We had the car serviced now since we are going on an out of state trip soon. I have peace of mind for smooth sailing on our trip. I am also very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility (I wish my garage were that clean!)

I went to the car show downtown to see all the different trucks I was looking for. I fell in love with the Ridgeline. After the show I stopped at another dealership and felt like I was in the way. They wouldnt really talk much. So the next day I went to Honda of Mentor and was greeted by Steve. I explained I was interested in the Ridgeline and was looking at buying within the month. In January my wife and I drove from Toledo, Ohio to Mentor to purchase a Certified Used Honda Element. The intial experience was very good. The salesperson took time to answer questions over the phone before we drove 2.5 hours. The dealership itself was large and clean. Since we had two children with us on the cold day we appreciated the indoor garage where we were able to look at the used car. And the Used Certified vehicle we looked at was very clean (and would be cleaned again upon purchase). Also, much of the other staff we dealt with indirectly was very friendly towards us and our young children.We are still very happy with the vehicle we purchased, and still impressed with how well detailed it was on receipt. Initially, we had some problems with our trade-in experience, but eventually the General Manager took the time to contact us personally to help bring a resolution to our issue. I think that all went well during teh experience and the only regret that I have is not having my trade in information with me at the time. I think I got a good deal on the car but may have not received the max value for my trade. Love the new van.

While he was "in training", one of the things he did was visit other area dealers as a "potential customer" to evaluate their technique and learn. We found the dealership to be customer friendly and the salesman spent a lot of time with us in selecting our new vehicle. He answered all of questions, and never made us feel rushed or pressured in making our decision. After we made our decision on which model, and what color we liked the best he worked with us on price and we left with a new Honda Accord with a price and monthly payement that works for us. Upon delivery he went over the car with us in detail and over all the manuals/books that come with the vehicle. He introduced us to the service department and showed us the service area. I was very disappointed with my recent visit. I brought my car in for a recall and also to have my brakes looked at. I was quoted $650 dollars to have my rear brakes replaced and front brake maintenance. I ended up having my rear brakes repaired at another location for $230.00. Got an amazing deal without the high pressure sales crap. no cheesy lines or pushy salesman. We started at Jay Honda in Bedford and the salesmen were unpleasant to work with and even though I told them I was tired and needed to think about the deal they continued to put pressure on me to do the deal on the spot and we had a hard time getiing out of the dealership. They used lines like. " well I'm not supposed to show you these numbers but..." and then even told us that they couldnt go any lower on the price because they had to " pay to keep the lights on ". As a business owner I found this patronizing and insulting.We didnt have any of that in Mentor. We were given a much better price and the salesman were professional, polite and pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend this dealership. There is obviously a good reason why they move 300 to 400 cars a month.

We wanted to come in and look at the Honda hybrids. We owned a Prius and were thinking of replacing it. We saw the CRV on the showroom floor and fell in love with it. Our salesman, Dave Jones, was very helpful in helping us to make a decision. My husband needs a wheelchair on occasions and we were able to fit it into the back of the vehicle without loosing the back seats. This was what made us decide to go with the CRV. I have always received excellent service department at Honda of Mentor. I own a 2008 Honda Accord, I'm in the process of buying a 1994 Honda Del Sol. I asked Jernnifer of the service department if there was any way that they would look at the car for me to see if the car needed anything. I found out that Honda offers a 'used car inspection' for less than $100. Mark Hawthorne actually handled the scheduling of the inspection - he always takes excellent care of me and my vehicles. Now I have peace of mind i knowing that someone with Honda knowledge checked the car over and I know I can expect the same good service on that car that my Accord receives. This is my 5th Honda and one of the reasons that I stick with Honda - besides the fact that they make a great car, is the service department in Mentor.

When we first entered the dealership Steve,the salesperson, we explained our situation and he was willing to help us. He proceeded to take our information, processed it. We are looking to down size in car and car payment. Well we offered to buy our car from us, what are we to walk home. He acted as if he was not willing to process our information to any other finance company, other then Honda Motor Finance. The worst experience we have ever had. They are the most inflexible service department to work with and the dealership will make you pay through the nose! We took the car in for two recalls (that already speaks volumes for the horrible product) on a 2008 Oddysey. We asked at that time have them also look at the a/c and the door roller. They said it would be $125 to look at the car. When they got done looking at the car, they found about $2K in repairs. First of all, that is a joke for a 3-year old car. Secondly, they wouldn't apply the $125 towards anything other than the high cost repairs. When we asked why, they said it would only apply to the large ticket items. They were interested in squeezing every last nickel out of us and thought we were simply their captured prisoners for that $125. We wound up spending over $225 on $120 worth of repairs. Outrageoues! I would not recommend this service department to my worst enemy!

As usual when dealing with Honda of Mentor, our whole experience was great. This is the third car we have purchase from this dealership. Everyone was friendly. The building and the lot were clean, bright, and welcoming. Our salesperson, Josh Nagy, did a great job finding the car that fit our tastes and dealt with us with no pressure.

This is the 5th Honda vehicle I have bought from this dealership. The same sales person, Anthony Canzone, has sold us all the cars. We like the professionalism of the sales department and service department. Honda is a good product, but Honda of Mentor keeps us coming back.

Mark checked in my car for service he was friendly and professional.He asked when I needed the car back and had it waiting for me when I arrived to pick it up. Mark was unavailable at the time I picked my car up but Jalene (I think that's right)quickly stepped up and took care of me she was fast and professional. I just had an oil change but these two employees made it fast and easy.

Overall we were pleased with our experience with Honda of Mentor. We had arranged to arrive at 0900 on a Saturday when the dealership had opened to test drive 2 Honda Pilots (we were traveling 1.5 hours to get to Mentor). When we arrived, both vehicles were out on extended test drives. While we understand that to make a sale it is first come,first serve, it would be nice to have better coordination amongst the sales staff to avoid this, as it was very inconvenient. The manager did work with our salesman Chip regarding the prices for the remaining Pilots on the lot. Although we appreciated that, the deal offered was not as good as it seemed as the prices on the lot were about $3000 higher than the prices on the internet--we felt this was somewhat misleading. Having said all of that, we feel that we received a very fair price on both the Honda Pilot that we purchased and on our trade in. We walked in with financing from Capitol One and Lisa (?) from the finance department was able to get us an even better rate. I did email Chip and leave a message for him as well this week regarding the 3 months of XM that came with a certified Honda and have never received a response. Again, overall we are pleased with our experience but there are some areas to be improved upon.

The service that I received was excellent. Richard was very helpful and we went beyond my expectation. He got me a great deal with my new car's financing which was better than the previous vehicle terms. He also helped me with information that will allow me to help my mother finance a used car that was in the inventory. Overall I was very pleased witht he purchase and also the employee assistance.
