I just purchased my second Avalon from Ed and the experience was again very positive. I do not like buying cars and Ed makes it easy to do business. Up front and fair pricing, no hidden fees or surprises and most of all there is a level of trust that I am getting the best deal possible. I did check other dealers and the typical car buying assault occurred and I couldn't wait to get out of there!

We did an extensive vehicle search across several brands. When we arrived at Hesser Toyota, we were greeted by Ron Matzke. He took the time to get to know us and exactly what we were looking for. The 2017 Toyota Sienna ended up being our selection and Ron gave us a very competitive price and trade-in value. He always made himself available to talk with us about any questions we had in the process and stresses after-the-sale customer service being what he spends time on the most. I have nothing but positive things to say about the whole process and in our dealings with Ron. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a vehicle.

I contacted Hesser Toyota after receiving a quote for a 2016 Highlander at another dealership. They said they could match the offer I had gotten. Great, we basically walked and and gave them the easiest sale ever. Worked with a guy named Ron who seemed very honest and sincere. After finally waiting a while I called Ron and asked if he had the purchase agreement yet. He told me he would get it over to me later in the afternoon but we discussed the final numbers over the phone. I noticed immediately that we were over our quoted price, which again, they said they would match from a previous dealer. I mentioned this to Ron and he chalked it up to extra taxes and that he "forgot" to add in the license plate transfer fee. Mind you, we were quoted at an out the door price, which should have included all taxes, fees, etc. I brushed it off and got home later that night, after him failing to get the purchase agreement to the bank more than 4 hours after I asked for it, and realized he was completely lying about matching the price. The purchase price and taxes alone were already over our out the door quote. I emailed Ron and laid out what the costs should look like (have to help him with his job) and he wrote back that he had talked to his general manager and that the changes would be made and Jeff the GM would get the new agreement over to the bank. Never happened. So I call again, explain to Jeff what is going on, that I have written proof that the updated agreement was supposed to be to the bank. Jeff proceeds to tell me that they never authorized Ron to go to that price he quoted me and that he was never going to be sending an updated agreement. Despite me having this in writing, Jeff writes "Must have been some miscommunication. We never said we would do $34,700. I will put the Highlander back on lot. Sorry for the miscommunication. Thanks, Jeff" Umm...miscommunication? It is clear as day what was supposed to happen as IT'S IN WRITING! I proceeded to now have to try and help the GENERAL MANAGER do his job by telling him what a good business person would do is say my guy messed up, I can't budge on price but I can give you a $250 gas card to make up the difference from what you were quoted. Ever so professional Jeff responds "Vehicle is not here yet and yes we will offer it for sale" as in they are putting it on the lot for sale once it arrives. DO NOT waste your time with this dealership. Their slogan is "no games, no gimmicks, no kidding" except all you get is games and gimmicks, and I am really not kidding.

I purchased a used vehicle from hesser Toyota scion of Janesville. I also purchased an extended warranty with my vehicle. I was hearing a rattling sound from the front of my vehicle after 7 months. I brought my car into their shop and I was told they couldn't hear anything. I continued to hear the noise and I was told after 2 more visits that they would do nothing until the parts were fully broke. They greased it and told me hopefully it would help. Nine months later the noise continues to rattle the front end of my vehicle but since its not fully broke, i get to drive my not even a year old vehicle around with rattling. Horrible customer service.

Watch your paperwork here very carefully. I helped my senior parents bargain a deal here so they could go back the next day to sign and take delivery. When I went to review the paperwork they had signed after they brought the car home, the salesperson had written the deal differently than the agreed upon deal the day before. He gave them $810 less (only gave them $1190 instead of the agreed upon $2000 off) of a discount agreed upon the day before.

Welcoming experience. Appropriately priced vehicles. Willing to make sure your satisfied with your purchase before signing the final papers. After having my local shop check out the vehicle before purchasing they found a spot where the paint was bubbling and another spot that was to metal and rusting. They fixed it and told me i wasn't obligated to buy the vehicle unless i was 100% satisfied. after a couple days in the body shop they called me to come out and check out the paint job. you couldn't even tell that it had paint work done on it. they also threw in a free touch up paint bottle so i could fix any other problems i might have in the future.

We remain very satisfied with Hesser Toyota. The sales staff does not play any of the classic auto sales tricks on us and prices for both the new vehicle and the trade-in are within the suggested Kelley Blue Book values. Tried another dealer first [closer to home] this time but was low-balled on the trade-in with an obviously false claim that they would never be able to unload the old car. Walked away, visited Hesser the next day and drove off with the new car.

DO NOT GO THERE!!! The manager is totally no credit!!!!!! We live a hour drive from there. My family wanted to buy a used van and found one on their website. We called before we came and confirmed the price with the manager. When we got there with two kids, After testing the van, we made the decision to buy it. The sales person was okay and told us they needed time to do the paperwork. After 1.5 hours, a manager came out and told us the price was not correct. They could not sell this van to us at this price. and it would be two thousands more. Totally untrustworthy!!Do NOT go there. Just waste your time!!

We are new to the area and brought our Sequoia in for some work. We were quoted $800 to repair a wheel bearing. I would have naively payed that outrageous fee had my husband not raised a red flag alerting me that it was way too much. We called our old Toyota Dealer and asked them to check that quote. They said Hesser was high by 100 percent. At this point Hesser still had our vehicle in their possession. As a favor to us, the technician at Continental Toyota called Hesser on our behalf to alert them that the quote was grossly incorrect. Hesser's service writer admitted that the quote really should have been $422. Are they completely incompetent or are they trying to take advantage of people who don't know any better? This was the first red flag. After they completed the repair and we paid the new lower amount, we continued to have problems so we drove the vehicle 2 hours south back to Continental Toyota who told us that Hesser tore the grease fitting boot while doing the repair and that the air box was completely disassembled and left apart. This is a serious mistake which left no grease in the bearing. We are having Hesser's mistakes repaired at Continental Toyota in Hodgkins, IL at our expense and are paying for a rental car on top of it. Hesser is refusing to reimburse us or Continental Motors for the repairs and has even suggested that Continental Toyota sabotaged their work! . What they want us to do is drive the vehicle 3 hours north with no grease for them to get a 2nd chance at repairing it. To drive this vehicle would not only endanger us, the passengers, but would also create further damage to the vehicle. When my husband questioned the insanity of this suggestion Mr. Hesser agreed to flat bed our truck the 3 hour distance and said that to assure us that they did the work correctly the 2nd time that I would have a chance to review the tech's work. Me???? I am supposed to know good work from bad? Insane!! He is more interested in winning an argument than on doing what's right which is to admit they made a mistake and reimburse us for having the repair done elsewhere. Mr. Hesser is way out of line, insulting and has zero customer service or problem solving skills. Find another dealer!!!


Service department mis-diagnosed my Prius

I drove my Prius home from Chicago without any issues. It then sat in my level driveway for three hours. After three hours, I jumped into it, and found the master warning light was lit up. I bought an OBD2 reader and received error code POA3F, which means Drive Motor A Position Sensor Error. I towed it to Hesser on a Monday morning. They spent the next 4-5 days analyzing the problem. They stated that the transmission was destroyed, and I needed to buy a new one from them for about $4,800 plus tax. Being an engineer, I knew that the transmission will not fail while the car is sitting still. But Hesser was insistent that I needed to buy a new transmission.I towed the car to an independent repair facility, and as soon as they put it onto a rack, they noticed that a wiring harness was chewed through. They quickly jumpered the broken wires, and the car worked like new! So Hesser spent 4-5 days analyzing my car, and wanted $4800 plus tax for a new transmission, when the problem was actually a faulty wiring harness.I will never use Hesser for service. They mis-diagnosed the problem, took too long to mis-diagnose the issue, and still fail to admit that they mis-diagnosed the issue.

Awesome experience again with Toyota Hesser. I leased for the past 3 yrs with them and had a great experience so when it was almost time for lease to be up I went in to Toyota Hesser again to get a newer car & worked with Matt Schoeller. I emailed/texted back and forth for a few days before I actually went in and test drove the car, a 2013 Toyota RAV4 XLE, and Matt already had my paperwork ready and all the details waiting for me since I was on a tight time schedule. I loved the car and the quick service I got as we filled out the paperwork. Matt was very detailed in explaining the car features to me and the next day came to my work in town to get the car & go have it washed/detailed and filled up with gas. Now that's wonderful service. I highly recommend asking for Matt if you need a new/used car, he is the man to work with. :) My husband and son will be going in to work with him when they need a new car this coming year. This was my second purchase of a Certified used Toyota RAV 4 from Hesser. The sales experience from selection through purchase was pleasant and very friendly. The sales person was accomodating and the finance officer went out his way to ensure we recieved the best possible finance rate from Toyota. I had a good feeling about the purchase to that point. As part of our negotiation, I received a set of new tires for the RAV. Within a few days of purchase, two of the four tires exhibiterd slow leaks which had to be pumped up every other day. I contactd the dealership but my calls were not returned until I became more persistent. The dealership offered to fix the tires if I brought it in during the week, which I could not do as i live 25 miles away and work in the opposite direction from Janesville. The dealership offered to find a Saturday time to fix the tires but would have to call me back. That call never occurred. After one month of pumping up new tires, I have scheduled them to be fixed locally at my own expense. I can't with good conscience, recommed the dealership for their post sales service. This was dissappointing.

Needed to consolidate from two vehicles to one. Had a 2011 Hyundai Elantra and a 10year old toyota Tacoma. Needed a truck with more room, so although the Hyundai was really too new to trade in, the Deal made by Ed Spenske and Hessers' organization was generous, and also received fair value for the Tacoma. They went out of their way to meet my particular needs, which is the reason this is my seventh Toyota purchased from them. [ They are also the Hyundai daelers in town ].The new Toyota Tacoma extended cab is an exceptional vehicle. We love it!

I have recently leased a 2101 Toyota Yaris. My reason for leasing this particular model is the fact that I am quite short and this is the first car EVER that has fit my needs. I can see all around me with no mirrors, etc. blocking my view. When I arrived at Hesser Toyota, Terry greeted me and listened to my needs. He was very knowledgeable about his products and understood fully what I wanted. He offered suggestions and actually brought cars for my viewing to the building. Terry was very easy to work with. Being as I use a cane to get around, he was very attentive to my walking problems.
